brOTP: One of my FF14 ocs, Lalili Lalu, is a 48-year-old Lalafellin busybody who loves drama and gossip so his dude showing up and immediately bringing divorce drama to her doorstep means he’s her Favorite. Invites him to tea just to see if she can make a vein pop on Cid.

OTP: Cid, they made the perfect pair of divorcees with baggage who aren’t over it. Nero commits fucking treason just so he can follow Cid around and annoy him. We’ve just hit the point of Nero weaseling into Cid’s employment at nearly the same pay.

nOTP: Anyone else! I’m normally not a singular ship OtP person but literally any time I see Cid or Nero with anyone else I'm just like “leave him alone! he’s happily divorced!!”

random headcanon: Nero is good at cooking and absolutely uses this to his advantage because Cid subsides on whatever the FF14 equivalent to microwave food is. Offer of breakfast in the morning which’ll be the only edible food he’s eaten in like 3 months grants access to the Cid.

unpopular opinion: I… do not know what the general consensus is on this character. CidNero should be a bigger ship, everyone have better taste. IDK lmao.

What I love about this Fandom: I don't recall Mard Greer and Freed ever interacting, but fans are like they are both hot demons so I ship it ( I am fans lol). Honestly, I ship Freed with anyone who could possibly treat him right. Primarily with Laxus. My feelings towards Laxus ships are more complex, he can only have others when Freed is happy and settled (a reaction to too many Freed being rejected by Laxus videos/ fan art or crying in the background). Demon bae must be protected at all costs.

Okay apart from that you're totally right, but unfortunately I don't see many people shipping them, which is a shame because it would be an interesting couple. But I understand it, because I also started shipping them only thanks to eryiss fanfiction.

Anyway, while I understand what you mean (and you're right, demon bae must be protected) I work like this: I like a character, I read anything about him/her, regardless of the ship/brotp present in the fic, and consequently I begin to ship them with literally anyone or almost. Like, this happens with Freed but also with Lucy (and Gajeel and Laxus in a lesser extent).

Like, now you're going to hate me haha, but in the past I was obsessed with Laxus, I read everything with him, which meant I ship him with everyone, including Mirajane. Then Miraxus dropped on the ship list for reasons, but I'm still shipping him with the world. Gajeel, Jellal, Mystgun, Cobra, Orga, Gray, Bickslow, Loke, Lucy, Cana, Hisui, Juvia, I'm literally open to any ship with him except kids of course and Natsu (they give me too much sibling vibes). Although I must admit that it has been so long since I read a Laxus x female character, and now to me he's gay and I struggle to see him in a relationship with any woman haha. It just doesn't make sense to me which is a shame, because Lalu and Laxui were really nice ships :)

Ship bias ~ Laxus

1. Laxus x Mira (LaMi): They have their moments in the anime which I’d love to expand upon though RP, Mira may hate him at first but (like with Freed later) she knows how he is deep down, that he cares for his family and friends. They are both S Class mages too, so they really fit that power couple dynamic haha.

2. Laxus x Lucy (LaLu): They are both blondes and work well with that aesthetic, and Lucy is technically the one that beat Laxus too, since she brought Fairy Tail together to take down his Thunder Palace. The S class veteran and the newbie together, there is a good ship dynamic right there!

3. Laxus & Freed (Fraxus, BroTP): Don’t remember if I reblogged the meme here, but Freed is pretty much Laxus’ Exceed partner lmao. Freed is Laxus’ biggest fan and supporter, and that will include his ships too (for my Laxus)! Freed also wants to follow in Laxus’ steps to become an S Class mage one day, so it would be good to RP that out too!

4. Laxus x Cana (LaCa/Lana): Probably a hateship at first (similar to Mira), and well Laxus is a S Class mage and Cana wants to become one. Cana usually takes the lead whenever the other S Class mages are unavailable, and she can use Fairy Glitter while Laxus can use Fairy Law, so there’s a ship potential there with that in common at least haha.

5. Laxus x Lisanna (LaLi): Mostly based on the gag that Laxus still wonders if Lisanna is real so lmao, she is still the little sister of the guild and he sees her such. So kind of iffy about them romantically due to their age gap (16 vs 23 according to wiki), but I suppose could work once Lisanna is aged up more.

6. Natsu & Laxus: Natsu looks up to Laxus like an older brother and an obstacle to overcome, especially since he is an S Class mage. My version of Natsu would try and fight him every chance he gets still, like he does with most other mages he admires and wants to surpass.

7. Gajeel & Laxus: Similar to Natsu, but Gajeel’s not that carless to fight him, especially with their elements in mind. My version of Gajeel still has a lot of respect for him and his power, especially as a fellow dragon slayer.

8. Laxus x/& Erza [Laza]: Both top S Class mages.

My brOTPs:

Lucy and Levy - These two are honestly SO precious together

Lucy and Juvia - I feel like when Juvia isn’t obsessing with Gray, she is actually a pretty interesting character. She really cares for her friends and I feel like both she and Lucy can relate pretty well! Both of them grew up lonely, and I feel like they could definitely become seriously amazing friends.

Obscure ships (Idk these might not even be that obscure):

LaLu (Laxus and Lucy) - I absolutely ADORE this ship. Like... its a litte bit crazy how much I love them. I know that in the actual manga they haven’t had very many interactions, though I feel like its fun to think about different scenario’s in which they would~ I feel like they really make a very good couple. And, they look really good together ehehe

GrayLu (Gray and Lucy) - Unlike LaLu, I feel like GrayLu could have become canon had a few things been different. They have plenty of interaction and work very well together! They have great chemistry and I think that they would have made a lovely couple

Popular Ships I Don’t Like (please don’t hate me anyone! I totally respect those who do ship them):

Jerza (Jellal and Erza) - I think this is mostly because over time I have started to dislike Erza as a character. Please don’t think low of me because of this! I understand that she has gone through a lot and all of that... but I feel like she is a complete Mary Sue. She doesn’t have very many flaws at all that are truly ‘flaws’. I really like a character that has a bit more depth. I love Jellal though, I just don’t like these two together.

Gruvia (Gray and Juvia) - I feel like Juvia’s obsessiveness with Gray is a little bit too much for me to actually take this ship seriously. I actually didn’t really like Juvia that much because pretty much EVERY scene that she is in involves her obsessing over Gray. Though the scenes where she is able to focus on somebody other than him (Like her fight with Meredy) really made me like her quite a bit more. I just don’t like her and Gray together.

Fraxus (Freed and Laxus) - I don’t like this ship for a few different reasons. One being that I feel as though Freed would be an aromantic person, while he definitely cares for Laxus... I think of it more as a ‘loyal friend’ type care. And for Laxus... well, I pretty much headcanon him as a ‘straight as an arrow’ type man. That and... I ship him with Lucy too much to really see him with anybody else honestly ahah.

Who was my first OTP and are they still my favorite:

NaLu - I STILL love them dearly! Even though it may not appear as though they are my favorite ship lately because of all the fanfiction I’ve been writing and reading that might say otherwise... they are still the pair that I love the most canonically. I love everything about their relationship and I don’t care what anybody says, I think they were meant for each other

My thoughts about the new chapter are all over the place... Idk what to expect and what to not

*deep sigh* let's start finally,

My general thoughts on the chapter : The most painful cliffhanger I've ever experienced and the fact that the series is biweekly makes it even worse. Being a Lucy fan, it wasn't pleasant to see her getting slashed like a fuckin' fruit. Now ofc Ik Hiro doesn't have the guts to kill off the heroine(who's also the narrator). Even if he has such plans, it literally won't be like that; without the members of team Natsu, especially Natsu and any heavy emotional impact scenario. So I've calmed down and stopped worrying about her wellbeing. She's gonna be just fine *tries to console herself that Lucy won't lose her arm*

The Good Part :

Lucy and Laxus's interactions were really funny and I loved seeing him genuinely care for Lucy. Probably the last time we had seen it in GMG arc during his fight with Raven Tail, so it was refreshing.

The sheer badassery Lucy showed us was absolutely breath-taking. She was in an offensive mode and we all love seeing her like that *heart eyes* Such a queen. It showed how much development she had gone through. She couldn't see her guildmate being humiliated by the enemy and she quickly jumped in action for Laxus(no shipping, was just so much satisfying to see them having some screentime. Lucy's platonic relationships are always fun tho).

Overall, LaLu is def one of my fav brotps rn.

Disappointment : The lack of another SDM. Lucy is being biased towards Leon Maiden(she has used it 3 times) and I think it could be greater if we got to see another mix, but looks like she has only 2 of them unlocked.

Lucy not using her spirits was also a bad thing. Like even tho, maybe none of them would last longer against Kyria but they could simultaneously attack her like Lucy's 1st fight with Mimi.

The last but not the least, Ik it's too early to be sad but I was, 'cause I just get the feeling that this will somehow be used as a plot device for Laxus to break out of Kyria's hypnosis. I've already said that I don't have any problem with Lucy losing against Kyria or defeating her with Laxus's help at the moment, 'cause being helped by someone doesn't make her damsel in distress. She's far from that. I'll also be up for it if it's any kinda indication of NaLu angst but if she's just a way of giving Laxus some powerup againt hypnosis then I'm beyond just any normal disappointment.
