I'm so glad I was too dyslexic as a preteen on the Internet to read homestuck. I was aware of homestuck as a preteen, it was in my sphere of emo trinity, Dan and phil, sherlock, undertale fandom and the ONLY reason I didn't read it is because I'm not a good reader. Really dodged a bullet there

man, fans of things are so cool. like, people love things enough to write 11 million works devoted to the things that they love.

The OTW is pleased to announce that the 11 millionth fanwork has been posted to the Archive of Our Own. From fic to fanart to podfic, every fanwork on AO3 is the result of someone’s love for and dedication to transformative fandom, and we’re grateful for each and every one of your contributions. AO3 wouldn’t be what it is without you!

We’ve hit 11 million fanworks just six months after reaching 10 million fanworks last October. In those six months, Accessibility, Design & Technology has rolled out the ability to mute works, bookmarks, and comments from specific users; Open Doors has imported over 16,000 fanworks from at-risk and offline archives; Tag Wrangling has wrangled over two million tags; and Policy & Abuse and Support have answered approximately 10,000 tickets each. We’re excited to continue to grow and support fans in the coming months, and we look forward to seeing what you create as we do!

2013 tumblr was a whole different thing, and I’m sure in the years before it. I am currently reminiscing on my days as the all-fandoms superwholock emo bands.. basically my high school years.. and I remember watching shows live as they aired.. im so far behind on most of them now.. I don’t know how to engage in fandom anymore 🥲😅 but I sure miss the days when I’d be watching the latest dr who and see pictures from when they were filming the next.. right, and all the memes and references.. when tumblr was my home. I feel so estranged from modern tumblr but I feel like other social media has really clogged up my internet-life.. im actually contemplating deleting Facebook. I’ve just been scrolling through tumblr posts I made 10 years ago when I was 15 and a teenager with a broken heart, I really wish I could achieve those goals I had set back then.. I don’t know where to start 😅 I miss myself. And my tumblr username has evolved a bit since then because of all the times I’ve ran from myself.

The amount of trash I have had to wade through to find the few gems of fanfiction that are genuine writing excellence and resonant with the source material is both fantastical as it is ridiculous.

But there is something so deeply satisfying about finding versions of your favorite stories that perfectly scratch all of those "what ifs" and ends it in a way that just feels perfect for the plot, essence, and vibe of the story that wading through said Trash™️ fics just makes it worth it.

There are some things you can never un-read; but one learns how to filter and search accordingly *very* quickly.

The party, after raiding a bandit camp, find a set of golden keys and a small scroll. The scroll is inscribed with many ancient and foreign languages, but one line in common says "The Keeper gives you permission to enter when you cannot come in".

In the party's dreams, they all see a golden and white tower, clad in fine silver gargoyles, shimmering in the glow of the seven suns. Upon meeting the oak door, which is opened by the set of keys, a tall, slender man, in a great black coat greets them with another set of keys.

"For the library" he says from out of his pointed features. The party enter another room and are greeted with a wave of memories.

This is, what could be called, a mind palace.
