I used to ship them so hard so let's do this :)

The time Gray stood up to Erza and put her sword to his heart is a legend in the guild. It's the first thing people bring up when talking about Gray

Gray blushes around her all the time. Literally for the dumbest things like Erza can't even look at him without him turning bright red (it gets better with time but not by much)

Everyone was positive they were gonna end up together when they were kids. Macao and Wakaba had been planning their wedding since the day the kids met

Gray is the only person that Erza can fully relax around. You can literally see the tension leave her when Gray walks up

Neither made the first move. They both just toed that weird line in-between friends and more than friends for so long that their friends had to sit them down and literally spell it out for them

Erza had to initiate most stuff in the beginning. Gray still had that fear of her wrath at the start that made him hesitate

Everyone thinks that Erza is the more dominant one in the relationship, but she prefers Gray taking the lead (it takes him awhile to figure that out tho)

You'd think since they are dating that Gray would no longer be scared of Erza, but that is the exact opposite. He fears her wrath even more now (she has new ways to punish him now)

Not that Erza really freaks out on him too much anymore. It's mostly for show at this point.

(1) If it weren't for Gray, Erza would have left Fairy Tail. When she had joined the guild, she had struggled to connect with the other kids despite their efforts to reach out to her. She had shut them down, not because she disliked them, but because of her insecurity and anxiety.

She doubted that she'd ever fit in the guild. She knew that, once she opened up and ended up liking them, she'd get attached. Due to her trauma of losing Jellal and her friends in ToH, she had this belief that misfortune came to anyone she loved.

Gray had tried to pick a fight with her during that one instance, but that incident had also become the turning point of their relationship. When he had followed her to the river and seen her cry for the first time, he sat down with her in silence. Words were not spoken, but there was an understanding and his sole presence comforted her. It pushed her to try harder, and little by little, she opened up to the guild and let her hair down, solidifying her place in Fairy Tail.

(2) Gray was the only person from Fairy Tail that Erza was in touch with during the one year gap, post-FT disbandment. After the guild's disbandment, Erza had felt indifferent. Her mental health deteriorated due to the resurfacing trauma from Kyouka's torture, and her emotions were numbed from being overwhelmed. Losing the guild was her last straw.

She hadn't been in touch with anyone from Fairy Tail during the one year gap, not wanting anyone to see her at her worst. Gray was the exception, and she eventually enlisted him for the Avatar infiltration job.

In this period, they stayed in contact. Their communication was brief, but she always made sure to check up on him. She never worried about him being able to hold on his own, but more on his mental health. During this time, she opened up a bit about her own struggles.

In addition, he was in on the secret about her allying with Crime Sociere (mainly Jellal) during the disbandment.

After succeeding the mission, she felt guilt over what he had gone through, what with the council wanting to penalize him for his involvement with the cult.

We can absolutely agree that Gray is a WAY better match with other girls than Juvia. Like straight up Gray is more compatible with other girls in terms of chemistry and romance. Juvia is legit the worst damn match for Gray imo.

redesigns of lucy, gray and erza from fairy tail! i've got a lot of headcanons for them (mostly lucy) that i'll post at some point.

lucy's got a pretty tan and lots of freckles from the Incident™ (dumbass fell asleep in a sunny field during summer and got sunburned really badly, and this is actually something that happened to a person i know lmao)

nothing much really changed about gray, well except piercings and his eyes being lighter. i really like him with blue eyes, and i think he'd like accessories, based on how he dresses in the series. he's just pretty c'mon

i really love erza's redesign. i've been making a pinterest board with ideas for fairy tail characters' redesigns, and i thought: "okay, erza but with a beauty of south asian women (was mostly thinking indian women)". and there she is!! i think i like her nose about her the most! long noses with a bump <33

the scar looks a bit weird, since i haven't thought it through, just added it on a whim. it's a scar from the tower of heaven, when she was taken for punishment after her and her friends tried to escape. i imagine it was from a magical explosion. i'll adjust it and the eye in future drawings.

i've also been inspired by some tumblr fanart of course, fairy tail art here is just incredible. primarily erza's redesign, since i've seen a lot of fanart of her with brown skin <3

anyway, this is my first time posting my art here so i'm pretty nervous. i'm not sure if i won't delete it sometime after for a peace of mind (thank you anxiety). let's hope not!
