See the thing about living on a ship or any kind of way to travel through space is that certain things aren't always reliable. Such as forms of heating and lights. Space was already cold and when the heating stops working it gets even colder. Kylo has a stack of blankets for moments like that however. This wasn't something that Kylo was particularly prepared for... A blackout...

You had been sat in Kylo's quarters, colouring quietly sitting on the floor, whilst Kylo was wandering around the ship. He had some work to do.. you hadn't been left alone for long. Kylo was going to finish up his conversation with General Hux and then planned to come straight back. However when he noticed the lights starting to flicker he ran off before his conversation had ended.

Running back to his quarters he quickly opened his door, shutting it shortly after entering.

"Bubs..?" As he spoke the lights went out fully.

You were instantly upset and scared... It was dark and you no longer felt completely safe...

"You're okay Sweetheart.. would you like a hug..?"

You made a quiet noise of agreement.

Kylo gently took you into his arms, hugging you securely.

"Your okay baby... The lights will come back on soon... How about we go and sit down on the bed, huh? We can play with some of your stuffies..?"

A small nod was all he needed to move the both of you over to his bed. With the two of you sat their he reached over to pick up two plushies, passing one to you and holding one for himself.

The two of you came up with several games to pass the time with your plushies, It hadn't taken long with his games distracting you before the lights had turned back on.

"Well would you look at that" he says, with a bright smile.

It was always ironic when you had issues such as this... Scared of the dark.. your Caregiver leading the first order.. the dark side... Both you and Kylo always had a giggle when thinking about it..

down a rabbithole re: current publishing drama and my biggest question is can someone PLEASE tell me more about the trend of reylo fics getting turned into published books? like i saw a goodreads collection in the dossier that had like 50 books that were reylo fic. i am genuinely so interested in how this fan community feels about this phenomenon, and what other books besides love hypothesis fall under this umbrella. no i was not a reylo shipper in my 2016 tfa era, i was simply a kylo ren appreciator, but reylos PLEASE interact and tell me more about this !!

I am currently in the med bay getting treated for various mildly cumbersome injuries. It seems a moving turbolift is not a place to be swinging a lightsaber. Kylo had gone to speak to his favourite medic, (probably the only person he really likes) He arrived to where you are normally working however you weren't there. He was both confused and concerned. After speaking to (terrifying) the other medics he found out that you had not showed up for your shift.

He had quickly made up his mind to check on you and so he walked to your room. Upon arriving at your door he knocked loud enough so you'd hear. He would never admit it but he was extremely worried for you, he cared greatly for you. You unlocked the door however did not open it, the only indicator that you were even okay with him coming in was the small click of the lock being unlocked. He walks in, closing the door behind him.

You were sat on the floor next to the door, blanket wrapped around your shoulders, you were shivering.

"..Are you okay..?" He asks surprisingly gently.

You shook your head, saying nothing.

"...are you feeling small..?"

This time you nod your head, letting out a small whine.

"ah. I see... But something else is wrong too, yes?"

Again you nod.

"Are you cold young one?" He asked, gently touching the back of his hand to your forehead. "Oh dear.. little one I fear I think you have a fever.."

"noooo" You mumbled quietly.

"I think you do though bubs.."

He slowly moved closer to you, pulling you into his arms gently.

"Why don't we get you settled in bed and I'll read you a story..? Does that sound okay?" Kylo suggested, guiding you to your bed. As he got you settled on top of the covers he pulled a thin blanket over you as you pulled at the duvet. "I know you may feel cold but it's very important that you don't go under the covers at the moment, okay?"

You pout but stop pulling at the covers accepting your plushie that he held out to you. As you took the plushie, hugging it to your chest Kylo got up, picking a book from your desk, but not before picking up a small, empty bin that was stationed in the corner of your room, just in case. He put the bin down next to the bed and sat back down next to you.

You cuddled into his arm as he started to read. His soothing voice had sent you off to a peaceful sleep shortly after he began to read.
