can we seriously get livvy her proper appreciation? she is such an amazing person 🥰🫶 we stan a queen who knows her worth, and that’s exactly the energy livvy is radiating. we don’t get to know her very well in the book, but from what we do know she seems pretty great. also her disguise as physic was described to be really pretty in my head. i love a fashionable queen too. 💕 plus her hair 😩 is SO PRETTY in the photos of her in unlocked. livvy sonden/physic is my idol

after fitz cools off a little bit about sophie and keefe being a thing, he should drop tidbits about keefe (mostly during trust exercises) that he thinks she might find helpful since they're dating.

the thing is, instead of just stuff like, 'keefe loves frogs, so he might appreciate a gift or trip related to them, idk' he also drops things like 'btw if you just hold his hand in your hands - specifically towards the back of his head, just behind his ears - while you're talking to him, he'll probably melt haha. also his scalp is sensitive, do with that what you will, but make sure you're gentle'.

bonus points if sophie asks keefe about why every single tidbit fitz gives is correct and he goes tomato red for the first time ever and sputters out something like 'i gave fitz the lord of the snuggles title based on personal experience - he's clingy when he's tired, ok?'

one thing I can well and truly give kotlc full marks for is that I know exactly what every single character looks like. some books I have a really hard time piecing together descriptions from scattered one-off comments, but Shannon is liberal and consistent when it comes to descriptors. and I appreciate that

Au where keefe casually asked sophie out pretty soon after meeting her and they started casually going out (marella convinced sophie to go) and they started actually really liking each other and dating before she got kidnapped and they spent the series together

I’m hoping (I’m praying) that once the insecurities society has created for people—mainly women— becomes too much, the world will kind of reset and we’ll realize this is ridiculous and stop caring so much about appearance.

i'm not sure how well i'll be articulating this but this is the second time shannon has pulled a "this is a black swan member dun dun dun" thing mere seconds after really introducing the person. which feels like an incredible disservice done to the characters because the audience doesn't get the necessary amount of time needed to really get to know the character and reason out for themselves why they may be wxyz black swan member. it feels cheap and fake, like she only threw those characters into the be revealed to be black swan members, not to be their own characters outside of the black swan, if that makes any sense

said it once i will say it fucking again. flashback fitz was the most accurate version of fitz there ever was. he was sweet he was angry he was frustrated he was patient he was confident he was violent he never trusted alvar again he trusted sophie more than anyone (nearly unhealthily). i miss him. bring him back. he was so unapologetically kind generous and deeply broken. I MISS HIM.

and you know what makes me really sick is that say what you will about cassius meaning to abuse keefe but he literally created a living situation that was so toxic gisela could physically abuse their son (in a society with a strict cultural norm against/prohibition on violence!!!!!) completely under the radar

i have a confession. i. do not like the choice to make Sophie's new inflicting visible red lightning. i know it's supposed to be powerful and badass, but I find it so tacky. I cannot take her shooting lightning from her forehead seriously I'm sorry. and the floating????
