can we seriously get livvy her proper appreciation? she is such an amazing person 🥰🫶 we stan a queen who knows her worth, and that’s exactly the energy livvy is radiating. we don’t get to know her very well in the book, but from what we do know she seems pretty great. also her disguise as physic was described to be really pretty in my head. i love a fashionable queen too. 💕 plus her hair 😩 is SO PRETTY in the photos of her in unlocked. livvy sonden/physic is my idol

after fitz cools off a little bit about sophie and keefe being a thing, he should drop tidbits about keefe (mostly during trust exercises) that he thinks she might find helpful since they're dating.

the thing is, instead of just stuff like, 'keefe loves frogs, so he might appreciate a gift or trip related to them, idk' he also drops things like 'btw if you just hold his hand in your hands - specifically towards the back of his head, just behind his ears - while you're talking to him, he'll probably melt haha. also his scalp is sensitive, do with that what you will, but make sure you're gentle'.

bonus points if sophie asks keefe about why every single tidbit fitz gives is correct and he goes tomato red for the first time ever and sputters out something like 'i gave fitz the lord of the snuggles title based on personal experience - he's clingy when he's tired, ok?'

one thing I can well and truly give kotlc full marks for is that I know exactly what every single character looks like. some books I have a really hard time piecing together descriptions from scattered one-off comments, but Shannon is liberal and consistent when it comes to descriptors. and I appreciate that

Au where keefe casually asked sophie out pretty soon after meeting her and they started casually going out (marella convinced sophie to go) and they started actually really liking each other and dating before she got kidnapped and they spent the series together

said it once i will say it fucking again. flashback fitz was the most accurate version of fitz there ever was. he was sweet he was angry he was frustrated he was patient he was confident he was violent he never trusted alvar again he trusted sophie more than anyone (nearly unhealthily). i miss him. bring him back. he was so unapologetically kind generous and deeply broken. I MISS HIM.

in love with the way ms. messenger changes how mesmering works with every book.

in the first book, it's implied that he can literally erase people's memories (???), which is retconned and never comes back, and also that he doesn't have an area range to work within.

in the second book, it's implied he can literally change how people think and their thought processes and beliefs as opposed to just literally physically controlling a person's actions.

it's only in the third book that we get the version of mesmering that carries through the series: the one where he can only control a person's physical actions but they are still mentally in control of themselves and can fight his hold.

then in the fourth book, it's officially confirmed that he can't instigate any lasting change, such as having a law signed, because that would involve changing how a person literally thinks rather than just their physical movements. this contradicts what he says in the second book. it's also confirmed he has a people number limit.

then in lodestar, he is again apparently able to control people's thought processes??? unless he was literally physically pushing people out of the way, but the way he says "motivate" implies there's a mental component.

then in nightfall, it's confirmed that he does in fact have an area range that he can't work outside of, contradicting what he said in the first book. oh, boy.

(the version i trust is unlocked, which says that mesmers can control people's actions and behavior, but the person is still conscious and could resist the mesmer's hold, but usually can't. so that lines up with everblaze and beyond.)

Livvy has an entire candle collection, and she totally collects the little hand sanitizers (cause she's a physician lmao)

She definitely got a cat after Amy stayed at her and Quinlin's place

She loves loves loves human music, and I could totally imagine her listening to MARINA and Chappell Roan

Her and Cyrah used to be really close, and every day, Livvy wishes that someone would've called her when Cyrah was fading

After Wylie got kidnapped and stuff, Livvy felt really guilty cause that's her best friend's son yk

On top of that, once they got Wylie back, she worked day and night to save him

I feel like she would be the type to have inside jokes with like everyone. Especially her patients.

sokeefitz au where keefe is a magician, fitz is his assistant (who also learned how to sword swallow just to occasionally upstage keefe at his shows because he's petty but doesn't know how to pull a quarter from someone's ear), and sophie is marella's newest friend that's getting dragged to one of keefe's magic shows and holy wow ok marella was not kidding about the magician and his assistant being hot. cue keefe pulling roses out of his sleeve for sophie midshow because he knows a cutie when he sees one (after getting a subtle okay from fitz, who is his boyfriend but most people only know about the childhood friends part). and fitz getting to know her after the curtains close and asking her if she wants to hang out sometime. and keefe crashing that meetup when it happens halfway through because he can't help himself and knows fitz won't mind.

and them becoming friends that hang out a lot outside of shows, and sophie being keefe's most reliable regular. that DEFINITELY aren't flirting, marella, c'mon, fitz leaving out scarves for her to steal at their apartment she now frequents more than her own and learning her favorite treats to bake for her and keefe constantly throwing his arm around her and complimenting her w/ ten million winks is strictly platonic in this context
