If it's not too much trouble, do you have headcanons for Kotoko/Monaka? I like to imagine post-canon they work out their issues with each other and get to a much healthier place, like, when they're teenagers. I related a lot to Kokoto's toxic relationship with Monaka, I definitely had relationships like that when I was in elementary school too. It's kind of nice to imagine a world where - whether romantically or platonically - they work out their issues and work out, even if that might not be exactly realistic, aha...
Oh MAN do I have post-canon Warriors of Hope headcanons. I really do love imagining these kids and the lives they lead when they come of age.
I try not to use read mores, but this one got way longer than the usual headcanon posts, and it very much is less "Kotoko/Monaca headcanons" and more "elaborate set-up for how Kotoko and Monaca feel about their crimes as teenagers." So more under the cut I guess!
Firstly, some setup. I love adoptive family relationships, and especially mother/child adoptive relationships. So of course I love daydreaming about Aoi "Bleeding Heart" Asahina adopting Kotoko, and it becoming a Kyoko (or Miaya!)/Hina-parenting-Kotoko, friends-to-moms slowburn. SOMEONE'S adopting these children, and it's not Komaru "I Just Spent A Full Year In Solitary Isolation (:" or the "We Taser Ourselves To Decide Whether The Serial Killer Fronts (:" Fukawas. Hina's upbeat, she keeps it light, and unlike Makoto "Spotless" Naegi, she understands the guilt of attempting/committing mass murder. Kyoko isn't quite any of that but deep in my heart. Through The Power Of Love And Elaborate Metaphors About Her Relationship To Her Father
And I mean. I'm going to be honest. Monaca's, like, 10. She spends three days in space before she goes 1. Wow this sucks 2. I did not in fact prepare enough materials to live like this indefinitely. I'm like 10. I packed enough for about 13 hours and thought I was good Forever. I need more marshmallows.
So it takes Monaca all of half a week to admit her failures and crash land somewhere on earth. The island with the Remnants? Misaki and Takumi? In-universe versions of the V3 students as adults? Personally I'm a fan of Yasuhiro and Kanon adopting her in the world's absolute weirdest fantasy. What matters is SOMEONE finds her. And we get Mod Loves Sappy Adoptive Relationships V2: Now With The Green One.
Because listen. Listen. These are kids. They have committed heinous, unforgivable crimes of extreme ethical concern, and they are also ten years old. Their only frame of ethical reference is a manipulator and abuser so good at what she does that she ended the world. People generally remember this with the other Warriors, but they almost always set it aside for Monaca, so I want to be clear: Monaca Towa is redeemable. Because she was 10 years old, and the moment she was out from under the thumb of the people who taught her how to do these cruel and unusual things, her first plan was Run Away To Space To Escape The Things That Have Happened Here. They're children.
THAT MEANS A LOT OF GUILT. NO ONE HAS EVER NOT BECOME A PUDDLE OF REGRET ABOUT SOMETHING THEY DID IN MIDDLE SCHOOL.
In general, I actually think Kotoko struggles with guilt the least amongst the Warriors. Firstly, I think having a parent who understands and can help her come to grips with what she's done from a very personal place really helps her work through it. But I also think Kotoko is low-empathy in general. I think eventually, she comes to understand intellectually what she's done wrong, but I don't think she ever struggles with the idea that she shouldn't have done it. I think she would be very practical about the circumstances that she was in, and in her mind, well. What else was she supposed to do? She'd been abused all her life. She was up against Junko Enoshima. Obviously what she did was wrong, but any other kid in that situation would've, in Kotoko's mind, done the same.
On the other hand, I believe Monaca would get hit with guilt very intensely once she finally processed everything she'd been through at high-school age, but that she would absolutely keep that under wraps and act as though it was meaningless to her.
Monaca is, in my opinion, a compulsive liar. You can see that in a lot of canonical ways, but I choose to extend it a bit to headcanons - it's not that she Doesn't need a wheelchair, it's that she has days when she needs it and days when she doesn't, and pretending she never needed it at all gives people a huge shock. She didn't plan to not kill herself with the rest of the Warriors as a prank; she really planned to do it, but people look at her when she says that. It's a defensive mechanism, and a method of feeling in control. At least I can choose for them to hate me by lying and being terrible, instead of being hated when I haven't done anything.
So I think, when she is finally faced with the enormity of what she has done, Monaca does what her first instinct is always to do: runs away from it and lies herself into culpability. Of course I killed all those terrible adults, and now that I'm almost their age, I'll just die instead of becoming one of them! That sort of thing. I think she traps herself into her own persona, no matter how hard she tries to improve, because Monaca is a child who internalizes until she breaks.
So when Kotoko and Monaca meet coincidentally at high-school age. Ho boy. Kotoko who still sort-of blames Monaca who blames herself, and neither of them completely aware of how to comfort a person or how to hate a person in a way that isn't lethal...oh the GROWTH. The Strawberry Wine by Deana Carter of it all

Sakura Nakamura (my s/i) lore 🎉🎉🎉
Early life / Elementary School:
- Parents are Actors / Models, very busy life and both are emotionally absent. Aunt stepped in as a role model
- As she continued elementary school, she ended up being a child actor for commercials and a model too
- Many people thought she was cool at first, but when they realized she was really into magical girl shows they thought she was weird. Not many friends because of this, yet still shares about it.
- Very cheery child!!! Is very sweet as well! Also regarded as a very cute kid!
- During a photoshoot, she met a girl who was helping out with the outfits. As she learned more about her, she realized that she wants to be a seamstress when she gets older. She thought this was cool and they become friends! (Met Kokoto Hiramatsu)
- Another photoshoot, she met a girl who was being broody in a corner. As she talked with her more, she figured out she was upset because her dad left her family for someone else. Sakura comforted her a lot, and they quickly became friends. (Met Ayaka Mochizuki)
Middle school:
- Her parents got her a manager (Referred to as Manager R)
- Manager R began to get extremely concerned with the quality of her work, so she made her re-do assignments until they were “perfect” (Perfectionistic habits mold from this, also makes her think the only way she’ll be loved if she is perfect)
- Got a major role on a TV Show, played an important side character. Many people shipped her character with another character in the show. This lead for both of their managers to meet and agree for them to fake date for popularity and profit.
- The other actor didn’t like being in a relationship at all. Began to secretly insult her behind the cameras and manipulated her. Made her purposefully stop eating as much and made her insecure about her body. She begun to hate herself for what she was, and fell into a dark period of her life.
- Ayaka and Kokoro tried their best to make her feel better. They then decided together that they should just leave the country entirely for the benefit of all of them. Ayaka’s mom lives in Japan and Kokoro’s parents didn’t care about her so they could easily move there, it’s only Sakura’s manager that they have to remove.
- For about 5 months, the trio tries their best to remove Sakura’s manager from her life. The breaking straw is when she protested during a photoshoot snd left immediately. Manager R immediately cut off contact with her and she was free.
- Moved to Japan during her 8th grade year under the supervision of Ayaka’s mom. She temporarily enrolled in a school and was slowly reviving her old personality.
- During finals season, Sakura decided that they should all become idols at Yumenosaki. Ayaka and Kokoro also agree to this plan. With Kokoro’s connections with the Tenshouin family, they finally get a chance to enroll at Yumenosaki academy.
Summer before 1st year:
- Went to a festival with Ayaka and Kokoro. They ended up getting lost and Sakura decided to wander around. Accidentally stumbled upon Shinobu (he was lost too) and they began talking. They realize that even though they dont have much in common, they were very similar. They became friends for the day and they help each other get prizes and stuff. (Key moment is when Sakura guessed how many marbles were in a jar and won a plushie of a frog and a fox. She ended up giving the frog plushie to Shinobu.)
- Didn’t get each other contact info, ended up loosing contact sadly. Sakura still remembers him as “The boy with pretty hair.” Keeps the plushie she won dear to her heart.
Basically it for main lore before yumenosaki 🎉 another post will be made about 1st - 3rd year lore in the future 🎊

Mikoto Kayano and Futa Kajiyama reacting to reader dying in their arms after being beat by Kotoko and in her final moments she tells them to move on she loves and to get out of Milgram? (All separate)
UGH I LOVE WRITING ANGSTY STUFF I GOT U ANON
A LOVERS ENEMY.
Mikoto Kayano x reader, Fuuta Kajiyama x reader. (separate scenarios)
description l In MILGRAM, being voted guilty is one of the worst things to happen to you.
includes : Angst, reader death, mentions of Kokoto, mentions of Fuuta’s sister, murder.
NOTICE: Events happen after T1 and before T2
FUUTA KAJIYAMA VER.
It all happened so quickly, the feeling of that hot liquid substance spraying out of your mouth as you clutched your stomach for dear life, you couldn't cry anymore, the pain was too much.
You tried catching your breath, feeling your chest grow colder as you looked at the dim ceiling lights, Kotoko had left you to die.
You felt yourself finally drop to the floor, hearing the screams of a familiar red haired boy. Fuuta Kajiyama, your only friend in MILGRAM.
“Firecracker! Hey- hey- stay with me okay? Look at me, firecracker..” He pleaded with you, picking you up in his lap as he rubbed the back of your head, you were both worse for wear, mostly you. You coughed harshly, blood spilling out of your mouth as you tried to speak.
He began to panic even more, grabbing your cheek and bringing his face to meet yours.
“Fuuta.. get out of-” You started violently coughing again, blood splattering all over his torn uniform, “Get out of MILGRAM as fast as you can.. please..” He looked at you in panic, grabbing his hand you rested your forehead on his shoulder, a deep cry from Fuuta began to spill.
“No.. I can't.. firecracker please! Not without you!” He was doing his best to keep his emotion from spilling.
“Fuuta.. get out and take care of your sister.. please..?” You felt the blood trickle down your back and chin, your time was coming soon.
“Firecracker why? Why? You can't say things like that.. why?”
You took in a sharp breath, in a last ditch attempt you said what you had been meaning to say for the last three years of being in this god forsaken prison.
“Because I love you..”
With that you gave up, feeling your body go cold as you felt yourself fall backwards, the sensation of your eyes closing as you heard the deafening ringing in your ears, you could hear the sounds of Fuuta screaming, but it was too late.
MIKOTO KAYANO VER.
It only took a second, one, single, second.
You were backed up against a wall, feeling Kotoko’s fist plunge into your stomach, now leaving you to die.
You could hear the familiar footsteps of the man who's cell sat in front of yours. Mikoto Kayano.
You had watched him fight Kotoko earlier, seeing it end in a draw after you watched, it left you with a sigh of relief. But here you were, it was Kotoko’s victory.
You felt Mikoto’s fingers dangle at your chin, looking up at him in defeat, the print of your blood on the wall behind you, his fist next to your ear, he stared at you for what felt like eternity.
“Dove, do you remember what I said when we met? That I promised I wouldn't let her hurt you?” You tried to answer, to his surprise he watched in horror as you coughed up clots of blood, splattering all over the prison uniform.
“Dove, dove. Don't say anything.. just listen.” He ran his fingers through your hair, a strange expression of pity on his face, but was it really pity?
“Mikoto.. get out.. go lead what they call.. a normal life..” You almost pleaded, your voice barely above a whisper as you looked up at him, feeling his hands snake around your waist.
He stayed silent, waiting for you to finish.
“Go back to the normalcy you had.. without the burden of me-” You stopped, coughing again, this time Mikoto seemed more concerned, holding you in a way that would make it easier for you to breath.
“Cupcake?! Cupcake look at me!” He pleaded, holding you by the underarms as he watched your head drop to view his knees.
You could feel your body growing cold, it all started to come down so fast, your chest didn't hurt anymore, instead it felt colder than before, a ringing in your ears as you looked at his knees, a tear dripping from your chin.
“The burden of loving me..” He stared in shock as you felt your eyes closing for the final time. He held you so close, like a stray kitty.
“There's never a burden you could give me.” He whispered, knowing you were dead, he had one goal.
Give Kotoko the same fate.

Thinking about Monaca. Thinking about Junk Co. Thinking about Monaca being one of those girls who shows up to school wearing THE coolest new outfits and accessories. (Junko LOST HER SHIT when she saw Monaca's mix-matched wardrobe and demanded to give her a whole makeover. (I work with elementary schoolers, they CANNOT choose their own outfits, they mix plaid and stripes EVERYTIME))
Also Monaca's dress design. I headcanon that Junko did the skeleton on the back and it was the last thing she ever gave Monaca before she left for the game. Monaca loved it so much that she never took it off (much to the dismay of everyone's nose).
Junko making absolutely sure that Monaca's uniform is the most bedazzled ever. Sending her off on play dates in the most snazzy outfits. (Kotoko and the others get new, better outfits, too - Kotoko's is a lot of cutesy stuff because that's what Kokoto wants, but Jataro never gets a handcrafted Junk Co. face mask, etc.)
Oh, I absolutely can see Junko creating Monaca's dress! I love that little tidbit!
But also Monaca you have to take it off eventually. You're going to outgrow it. I don't think your Big Sis Junko would like you wearing her clothes to shreds, babe.

Monster Hunter concepts Pt. 8: the Fated Four
Tumblr media
I think it would be cool to talk about more popular monsters, so today I will talk about these four peak design monsters that were introduced in Monster Hunter Generations: The Fated Four. While each one has a different theme, they are inherently part of the same core concept and thus must be explained collectively. I will try to keep it brief, but each monster is conceptually very rich so it will be difficult!
So what exactly are the Fated Four? Well as you may know, MHGen is the portable game of the Fourth generation, which started with MH4. MHGen was conceived as a celebration of the saga and its core theme is the number four: four villages, four hunting styles, and of course, four flagships: the scorching blade Glavenus, the lightning rebel Astalos, the immovable mountain god Gammoth, and the bewitching dance Mizutsune. Being defined as a group, each one of these monsters is intended to embody both a generation and a stereotypical archetype in a "hero team" (think of the Power Rangers, sorta).
Firstly we got Astalos, which is the rebel of the group, its color is green. Astalos embodies the First Generation being a Flying Wyvern and being found in the Forest and Hills (now Verdant Hills) near Kokoto, the village from the very first Monster Hunter. Its design is quite amazing, as it combines insect traits, with iridescent, semitranslucent wings, spiky legs and an earwig-like tail, its different insect-like parts charge with electricity as it attacks, a perfect reflection of its energetic and agressive nature. Its name in english comes from Astrapi (lightning in Greek) and -los to indicate it's the rival of Rathalos, which is much worse than its Japanese name Raizekusu (or Raizex for friends) which sounds way cooler, and is a combination of 雷 rai (thunder) and Insekt, the german word for, well, insect.
Secondly we got Gammoth, which is the big guy, the champion of the group, its color is blue. It embodies the Second Generation as a Fanged Beast, a class introduced in said generation, and is found in the Snowy Mountains (now Arctic Ridge) near Pokke, the village of MH Freedom 2 and Freedom Unite. This massive behemoth is based on a mammoth and also combines beasts from Greek mythology like hecatoncheires and cyclops, inspiring its weird armored head and and eye-like markings of its shoulders. Fight wise it covers its legs with snow and then tries to crush its enemies, as well as using its trunk as a versatile ranged weapon, however due to its enormous size with barely any back defense, its fight is possibly the easiest of the four. Lore confirms that its deep hatred for Tigrex is a result from childhood trauma (amazing). Its etymology is pretty straightforward, being a combination of the Hindu elephant god Ganesha and mammoth.
Thirdly we have Mizutsune, which is the girl (yes thats an archetype) of the group, its color is pink (cuz girl!!!!). It embodies the Third Generation as a Leviathan, a class first seen in our beloved wet MH3, and inhabits the Misty Peaks near Yukumo, which had never appeared in the west because it was only featured in MH Portable 3rd. This monster combines different traits from foxes, weasels, carps/goldenfish and snakes to create a really beautiful design. Mizutsune fights by secreting a soap-like substance to create bubbles, this slippery foam increases its movility while hindering that of its rivals, its gracefulness and agility allow it to face even powerful threats like Zinogre, using its giant brush-like tail as main weapon. Its etymology is pretty obvious if you are a bit of a weeb, "Mizutsune" is a combination of the Japanese words for water 水 mizu and fox 狐 kitsune, originally its Japanese name is Tamamitsune, which uses Tamamo-no-Mae, the legendary woman from the Japanese fairytale of the same name, instead of water.
And lastly we got Glavenus! The leader of the group obviously, its color is red, altho at first glance it may appear to be blue. Surprisingly, Glavenus is not the first fire-breathing Brute Wyvern that uses its tail as a sword, if you know your monsters you will know that Abiorugu from MH Frontier, while completely different, has these core traits too. In any case, Glavenus is still a really good design, who doesn't love a Carnotaurus with a giant blade as a tail that lights up like a 1000 degree knife? Its flame-shaped shell and horns also become red when enraged which give it a very fiery look, everything about its design screams fire. Interestingly, it is also mentioned in interviews that Glavenus was intended to be a land Rathalos, which would explain why it hates Rathian so much. Despite all of this, I still find odd that the monster that is supposed to embody the Fourth Generation is not from a class introduced in it (we need more Snake Wyverns!), overall it's the only monster in the group that does not really embody its generation all that well, but that's fine, we still love the top contender of the Jurassic Frontier (I guess Cretaceous Frontier was too long). In terms of etymology, "Glavenus" is a combination of the latin words Gladius (blade) and Fervens (burning) plus -saurus (cuz it's a dinosaur), while in Japanese Dinobarudo is a combination of Dinosaur, Nova and Halberd.
So that is all! Four banger monsters in one go, which one is your favorite? Do you also pray every night for Gammoth to return in the future or that it will remain forgotten like Gigginox? I really hope people find these ramblings interesting lol

So what are your thoughts that the reason we don't see Monoblos showing up in games is because poaching is making it endangered?
That honestly makes the most sense but it also makes me sad.
I may prefer diablos, but monoblos is more important to the series since it was the final challenge of the story in the first game. To prove yourself worthy of the title of a Kokoto village hunter, to prove you’re worthy of being the successor of the Hero of Kokoto who was a legendary hunter who was part of the incident of the five, monoblos was the rite of passage.
Diablos was extra content.
I honestly wouldn’t bat an eye if diablos sat an entire generation out so monoblos could finally get his limelight back.
