If I had a fucking wheelchair I wouldn't be in this much pain right now.
I overdid it again today simply because I had no choice. My hips, knees and ankles are killing me. But when aren't they?
If I had a fucking wheelchair I'd actually be able to live.

Really wish all the “low impact” exercise routines I find weren’t hyper focused on like squats and lunges and shit. Like bro, my knees DO NOT WORK. They simply do not function properly. If I do 15 squats today I’m not going to be able to walk properly for literal days.
…….but like I’m so tired and I NEED to work out to help with my fatigue, and I don’t have the attention span for yoga right now. So I do the five bajillion squats anyway.
And I’m stupid so I forget that that’s a bad idea, so when I’m in an incredible amount of pain just walking up and down the stairs for the rest of the week, I’ll be like

#what I’m really saying is I wish I wasn’t so stupid#because I know this is absolutely a me problem#and I’m probably going to do it again today#but I need ENERGY#okay???#chronic pain#chronic fatigue#disabled#disability#joint pain#muscle pain#knee pain#lupus#autoimmine disease#chronic illness#chronically ill

God. Fuck. Kill me. I need actually knee braces that will actually support me. I need my knees to stop hyperextending. I need support for the instability. I need something that will actually support my weight so I don't have to constantly offload it onto everything else around me. But I can't afford anything, I can't afford even the Walmart braces, let alone the good braces I know I need. Fuck being disabled. I hate my joint instability. I hate having a connective tissue disorder. I hate being broke as fuck. I need moneyyyy.

If you want to protect your knees you often need to support the structures around the knees. These are 3 keys to make that happen

Having to awkwardly explain my disability when I meet new people is so aaaaa
Because i’m not comfortable telling people (besides a select few that i’m very close to) what my disability is or how i got it, so I just have to vaguely be like “very ouch. All over.”

As a brace user, I haven't seen too many emotes like this, so I figured I'd make my own. The compression sleeve I drew is actually roughly based on the the ones I use :D

Can someone please reassure me that I didn't lie to my doctor?
Can someone reassure me that when I told him that I was almost 100% better, that I was just wrong?

I kinda forgot how much knee pain sucked like idk it just feels so much different than anything else to me
Like I've been having really bad hip pain since I got in the crash and it's the same kind of pain and it's also less painful than how my hip was initially but it's kinda worse somehow? I think it's because your knees just carry so much of your body weight that I can like feel it when I'm standing
#which is kind of ironic#because what initially got me diagnosed and disabled me#was knee pain#but idk the last few years its mostly been overall pain or like my back and neck#or fatigue#today its my knees and hips#disability#chronic illness#chronic pain#physical disability#dynamic disability#knee pain#lyme disease#ptlds

I need a new cane. My skyrizi has significantly helped with the life-long arthritis both knees and I don't take my current cane out much anymore, but I'm still afraid of going out much and overtaxing myself. But I AM going out more now and that involves walking. I've started carrying handbags because my pockets are overflowing. I have arthritis in my knees and fibro everywhere else, and my back and core muscles are weak as well and my back throws at the slightest provocation, so I have a ten pound MAXIMUM weight limit and have been forbidden by my rheumy and many physical therapists from carrying anything on my back or shoulders, so it's a lightweight handbag or nothing. So I want a collapsible cane to stuff in my new purse, which is eight inches wide
Criteria:
I am five foot five inches, so it has to be appropriate or adjustable to my height
I am fat, so it needs a two hundred and fifty pound weight limit, three hundred or more preferable in case I gain more weight
A telescopically collapsible cane, not a folding one. A folding cane won't fit in my bag, it needs to be the kind that collapses in on itself
one rubber foot, for compactness--multiple feet will take up too much room
ideally an offset handle
a handle that isn't made with natural rubber, as I am allergic to latex (the foot can be latex since I'm not touching it)
affordable for someone on SSI
available from somewhere other than amazon, I cancelled my prime account after recent certain events
a hand strap, as I'm not supposed to bend either since both my back and knees are so shite
I know a cane isn't ideal for arthritis in both knees, but it's all I can afford PLUS my city is infamously not accessible so it will be a bitch and a half to get around in a chair, rollator, or crutches
I did see a really cool telescopic hiking cane with a compass embedded in on it, and I have seen posts on tumblr saying that hiking canes are often better than the kind you find in the pharmacy, but it didn't have weight limit info and the handle was a knob, so I'm unsure about it

I learned today that I do qualify for new knees now. I was shown my knee xrays by both the P.A. and the doctor and told they are osteo arthritic moderate to severe category 😒
Funny thing is, over the weekend I was at a farmers market & the topic of knee replacements came up and the guy selling strawberries said "hey, look!" and he jumped up then squatted, stood up and said "no pain!" I teared up 🥹 The thought of no knee pain is just so emotional for me. It would be so wonderful- gives me a bit of hope that I could get robo-knees and not have so much pain, maybe?
