Review of klairs' Daily Skin Hydrating Water
Klairs, a Korean brand, is respectful of the beauty of the environment and carries healthy values regarding the earth, and contains only the most necessary ingredients. They are officially carried by Wishtrend. Their Daily Skin Hydrating Water is designed to soothe and moisturize dry skin. It helps to maintain healthy skin condition. Key ingredients include: 45% green tea leaf water (toning, soothing, hydrating, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-aging), calendula officinalis flower water (anti-aging, healing, anti-inflammatory, stimulates collagen production, antioxidant), coconut water (prevents water evaporation in the skin and strengthens the skin barrier for better-moisturized skin), betaine (anti-aging, anti-wrinkle, moisturizing, soothing, skin protecting) and pantolactone (helps draw moisture into the skin, improves hydration, vitamin-rich, nourishing). This toner retails for between $18-27 USD, you can get it here for $18.90 + shipping. Use code DANNIEL15 to save 15 percent.
Ingredients
Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water (45%), Water, Glycerin, Propanediol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Butylene Glycol, Calendula Officinalis Flower Water, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Water, Betaine, Panthenol, Pantolactone, Trehalose, Sodium PCA, Sodium Citrate, Disodium EDTA
To quickly note, I received this for free from Wishtrend for my honest review.
Tumblr media
This toner contains 500 ml (16.90 oz) and is fragrance-free.
Tumblr media
The toner has a watery consistency and just looks like water.
Tumblr media
Despite being very lightweight, it leaves the skin really glowy and hydrated.
Recommended use is after washing the face, apply an abundant amount onto cotton puff and wipe off in an outward direction. If your skin still feels dry, apply once again for a better result. Continue your routine with essence, cream, and so on. The toner is cruelty-free, pH balanced, and free of artificial coloring, fragrances, and ethanol. It’s also vegan-friendly. After using, this is really the perfect toner for any skin type. It can be used as lightly or as heavily as you want according to your skin type and there are no irritants so it makes it ideal to also use as a spot treatment on irritated skin. It comes in a huge size and it really does last a long time. I've been using this for a few months and heavily as well and I've only gotten through a quarter of the bottle. It also makes a great mist for the summer months as it's very refreshing. I'd recommend it to absolutely anyone, it's very gentle, very hydrating, and can leave the skin very glowy and moisturized.
What I like: it's a lovely product, very hydrating and moisturized, and adds radiance and glow. It comes in a huge bottle and it goes a long way. It has no irritants and no fragrance and would be suitable for any skin type as it can be used lightly or any way you choose. What I don't like: nothing, there's nothing I can say negative about this product.
Pros:
Hydrating
Moisturizing
Adds a glow
Can be used in various ways
Fragrance-free
Sensitive skin friendly
Cruelty-free
Vegan friendly
Lots of product
Cons:
None
Would I buy this?
Yes, for sure
Rating: 10/10

Note
i love your prom photos so sad you took them down
was wondering if you could give us your skincare routine and if you could tell us what products have and haven't worked for you?
and your skincare prep for b4 makeup?
a/n: hello! of course i'm willing to do that — I'll link everything as well. it'll be separated into a few different sections: products i use (separated into different sections, and w/ a 'review'), products i tried but didn't like, morning + night routine, make-up skin prep routine. all products from LIKESKIN (check out their website)
SKIN TYPE: dry, acne-prone (I'm prone to pustular acne, cystic acne, and hormonal acne) & MY SKIN CONCERNS: hydration, acne, blemishes, scarring, and hyperpigmentation
THINGS I ALWAYS DO:
Retinol 2-3x a week Vitamin C 2x a week Mask 3x a week Exfoliating toner 2-3x a week
PRODUCTS I USE:
cleansers -
[IUNIK] Calendula Complete Cleansing Oil ;; gets make-up and sunscreen off, gentle and sensitive skin friendly, doesn't break me out.
[BEAUTY OF JOSEON] Green Plum Refreshing Cleanser - doesn't dry me out, gentle, foams up well, and cleanses my skin properly!
toners -
[ANUA] Heartleaf 77% Soothing Toner - hydrating and soothing, helps take down my redness and blemishes
[NEEDLY] Daily Toner Pad - helps with texture and acne
[NUMBUZIN] No.5 Vitamin-Niacinamide - helps with acne scars and any darkness i have, i tend to put these on my cheek area and leave them for awhile
[BEAUTY OF JOSEON ] Green Plum Refreshing Toner: AHA + BHA - this is a light exfoliating toner that overall helps keep my rejuvenated
[DEAR KLAIRS] Supple Preparation Unscented Facial Toner - extremely hydrating, i use this every day and night so matter what, somewhat viscous
[SOMEBYMI] 30 Day Miracle Toner: AHA + BHA + PHA - exfoliating toner, don't use this if you have sensitive skin, but this helped me get rid of my pustules (acne filled with yellow pus)
serums -
[AXIS-Y] Dark Spot Glow Correcting Serum - mixed feelings on this serum since it helps a lot with my dark spots BUT it works on new scarring + if I use it too often, it triggers my acne.
[SKIN1004] Madagascar Centalla Asiatica Ampoule - incredibly soothing and hydrating, helps keep my acne under control
[The Ordinary] 10% Niacinamide Serum - started using this recently and i love it so much, helps the skin shine, removes texture, reduces acne and pore appearance
[The Ordinary] 0.5 Retinol - helps me extremely with acne; i worked up from 0.1% to 0.2% and now at 0.5%
[BEAUTY OF JOSEON] Retinal Eye Serum - i just love this one so much, very plumping
moisturisers -
[BEAUTY OF JOSEON] Dynasty Cream - i love this so, so much; hydrating, lightweight, and doesn't trigger my acne
[IUNIK] Centella Calming Gel - like the axis-y glow correcting serum, over-using this causes me some acne so i tend to use this once or twice a week, and it works wonders!
[COSRX] Centella Blemish Cream - HOLY GRAIL PRODUCT! this is genuinely one of the things that helped me clear my acne to extraordinary levels, especially when i had a huge breakout EVERYWHERE! i also use this as a spot treatment, repurchased this like seven times now
[DEAR, KLAIRS] Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask - using this with vitamin c works wonders and it overall enhances any dark spot removing products! very lightweight, jelly-like texture!
[I'm From] Vitamin Tree Water Gel - i adore this one so much; such a cooling, soothing moisturiser, and it targets almost every skincare concern ever, totally underrated!
sunscreen -
[AXIS-Y] Complete No-Stress Physical Sunscreen - only sunscreen that didn't make me break out and doesn't have white cast!
masks -
[I'm From] Mugwort Mask - i love this because everytime i have a breakout, it just helps me so much with redness.
[I'm From] Honey Mask - a miracle mask for an acne-prone person! one of my all-time favourite products! gives the skin a gorgeous shine as well! when i run out of this, i also just use manukka honey and oats!
/ so most of the products i use are anti-inflammatory, soothing, and target blemishes/texture/scarring; most people tend to forget that you should try and avoid anti-inflammatory products if you're not acne-prone because it may just end up triggering a breakout! all our skin is different! so here's PRODUCTS THAT DIDN'T WORK FOR ME:
(disclaimer: some of these products were good but i wouldn't repurchase!)
[BEAUTY OF JOSEON] Relief Sunscreen: Rice + Probiotics - sunscreen - triggered my pustular acne but was incredibly lightweight, super sad it didn't work out for me :(
[HARUHARU WONDER] Black Rice Hyaluronic Toner For Sensitive Skin - toner - i just didn't like this, it didn't do anything for me and caused my skin to itch.
[AXIS-Y] Mugwort Pore Clarifying Wash Off Pack - mask - i used all of this up and came to the conclusion it just didn't do much for me and was also incredibly difficult to wash off.
[BEAUTY OF JOSEON] Glow Serum: Propolis + Niacinamide - serum - now, i genuinely loved this but it only gave me a glow and was very small, ran out too quickly! much better products that do the same job with more product and more cheap!
[BEAUTY OF JOSEON] Glow Deep Serum: Rice + Arbutin - serum - this triggered my pustular acne so bad that i threw it away almost immediately, nuh-uh!
[MIXSOON] Bean Essence - serum - this isn't bad per se, but i feel like it's a very overhyped product and doesn't do much other than boost hydration, i use it but i wouldn't buy it again
[NUMBUZIN] NO.3 Skin Softening Serum - serum - i have such mixed opinions on this one because it really does help with texture but not if you keep using it? so i'm not sure if i'd repurchase.
[NUMBUZIN] NO.5 Goodbye Blemish Serum - serum - feels heavy, doesn't do shit other than trigger my acne and make my skin itch
[SOMEBYMI] 0.1% Retinol - serum - definitely a great beginner-friendly retinol but far too light for me and my acne-infested skin :(
MORNING ROUTINE:
cleanser (green plum refreshing cleanser from Beauty of Joseon
toner (i'll switch between the ANUA Heartleaf one and the Dr, Klairs Supple one)
serum (i'll tend to use a soothing serum such as the SKIN1004 centella asiatica one or a vitamin C serum)
moisturiser (dynasty cream or vitamin-tree water gel)
sunscreen
NIGHT ROUTINE:
double cleanse (IUNIK cleansing oil + BoJ green plum refreshing cleanser)
mask (either honey or mugwort mask, leave for twenty minutes)
toner pad (leave on for five minutes minimum)
toner (usually an exfoliating toner at night-time or a hydrating toner)
serum (tend to opt for niacinamide + retinol at night)
moisturiser (usually the vitamin e mask OR dynasty cream)
spot treatment (COSRX Blemish Cream)
MAKE-UP SKIN PREP ROUTINE:
(this is what i did on the day of prom as well!)
toner pad (leave these on for ten minutes and rub around face, this helps hydrate the skin; i use the numbuzin ones)
niacinamide (helps tighten pore appearance and just helps in every single way)
soothing serum (centella asiatica to overall help the skin!)
moisturiser!
/ i hope this helps!

* = disliked the product - would not repurchase ** = liked the product - would not repurchase *** = liked the product - might or might not repurchase **** = loved the product - would repurchase *HOLY GRAIL!*
1. Huxley Secret of Sahara Mask; Oil and Extract source: T & T Supermarket thoughts: This was very moisturizing when I first used it, however the last one I used felt a little dry. I think that’s cause I used it on the last day before it expired.  rating: ***
2. dear, klairs Supple Preparation Unscented Toner (3ml / 0.1oz) source: Wishtrend sample thoughts: I have used the regular one in the past and was not a big fan. I did enjoy using this but I’m not sure if I would try the full size of this. rating: ***
3. Jo Malone Body & Hand Wash: Nectarine Blossom & Honey (7ml / 0.23oz) source: Jo Malone sample thoughts: This was okay, nothing special in my opinion. I absolutely love the scent of this. It also made my bathroom smell lovely.  rating: **
4. Jo Malone Body Creme: Peony & Blush Suede (7ml / 0.23) source: Jo Malone sample thoughts: I found this cream to be on the thick side, a little goes a long way. This small sample almost lasted a week. It has a strong scent and lasts a while. The scent lingers on my bed sheets, making it smell oh so lovely. rating: ***
5. I’m from Honey Mask (3ml / 0.1oz) source: Wishtrend sample thoughts: I did not like this, I found it sticky and smelled kind of bad. I have found that I’m not a big fan of this brand, although the ingredients are very nice. rating: *
6. Tosowoong SOS Repair Cica Clinic Magic Patch (60 patches) source: YesStyle thoughts: I absolutely love these. This pack does come with 60 patches in 2 sizes, the 10mm and 12mm. rating: *HOLY GRAIL*
7. L’Occitane Dry Skin Hand Cream (30ml / 1oz) source: L’Occitane thoughts: I always forget how thick this cream is. This is not my favourite hand cream from them I do like their gel formulation more, also because it’s lighter and absorbs easier. rating: ***
8. Colgate Optic White with Charcoal (90ml) source: Superstore thoughts: I thought this was okay, nothing too outstanding about it. rating: **
9. DHC Eyelash Tonic (6.5ml / 0.21oz) source: Amazon.ca thoughts: I was using this for a while and then I sort of forgot about it. By the time I remembered it, it was already past it’s shelf life after opening. This was nice, I did see results but very minimal. At least I know this works and this is a more affordable option for eyelash serums. rating: ***
Tumblr media
10. Sulwhasoo Concentrated Ginseng Renewing Water (125ml) source: Kmall24.com thoughts: I finished this in 131 days. I really enjoyed using all these products. I like the consistency of this and I found that it helped moisturize and nourish my skin. rating: ****
11. Sulwhasoo Concentrated Ginseng Renewing Emulsion (125ml) source: Kmall24.com thoughts: I finished this in 132 days. I got this in a set with the renewing water and a bunch of minis as well for about $81USD, which is an amazing price considering each of these do cost about $130CAD each. This was light and absorbed quickly and was easy to spread. rating: ****
12. Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Serum EX (90ml) source: Kmall24.com thoughts: I finished this in 127 days. I do like this and find that it really moisturized and plumped up my skin. I also found that it gave it a slight glow. I really enjoyed using this and I would love to try the new formulation. This is expensive but I think it’s worth it, seeing that it did last me 3 months. I used it every night using 2-4 pumps each time. rating: ****
Tumblr media
13. Murchie’s Wedding Blend Tea Bags (10 bags / 26g / 1oz) source: Murchie’s thoughts: I really liked this in the beginning, however when I was finishing it off I noticed it was quite bitter. I’m not sure if it was because it was old or that I steeped it too long, but from my memory I remember steeping it for long and there was no bitter taste. rating: ***
14. Meito Royal Milk Tea (240g) source: H-Mart thoughts: This wasn’t as flavourful compared to the brand I’ve tried before in the royal blue packaging. But this one was slightly cheaper at $7CAD whereas the Royal Milk Tea in the blue bag is about $9-10CAD. I found this one also to be less sweet. rating: ***
Throw Aways
These products are either old/expired or have been opened for a long time, hence I’m discarding them.
Tumblr media
1. Persian Wax Strips 2. The Face Shop paraffin nutrition nail pack 3. Lush Santa’s Belly Shower Jelly  - This smells lovely but I hate how much glitter there is in this product that I just didn’t want to use it, this was from a few years ago and I am finally throwing it away

RECEIVED MY SUPPLE PREPARATION FACIAL TONER BY @klairs.global FOR A TRIAL FEE OF $3.99 FROM @0.8l_usa IN EXCHANGE FOR MY REVIEW. 💦💧💦💧💦💧💦💧💦💧💦💧 Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner (unscented) is the second version of the Original toner that excluded all essential oil, which makes it scent-free. While the original toner contains non-irritating all natural essential oil, the unscented was made to provide an option for customers’ preference for scents. With various plant extracts and soothing ingredients blended together. Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner is thicker in consistency, with Hylauronic Acid & Beta-Glucan which I feel is way more hydrating. My skin glows brighter with moisture. #ProTip 💦 I like to soak cotton pads in Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner and apply as a face mask for 30min, to get the most out of this awesome toner. Toners are an essential part of our skincare regimen. Toners are the highways for the serums, essences and ampoules to drive deeper into the skin. I’m obsessed with Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner. #08literusa #08L #08Lbestmay #literites #klairssupplepreparationfacialtoner #klairs #wishtrend #supplepreparationfacialtoner #toners #beautiejunkies #skincareaddicts #skincare #dermalove #dermatology #review #kbeauty #koreanbeauty #beautyworldwide #bbloggers #estheticians #aesthetics #locabella503

Hello anon w oily+acne prone issues! I recommend gel types moisturisers ! I can’t recommend skincarisma enough ! Safest one I know is Avene Tolerance extreme (light) emulsion. Boring but a staple. You probably can’t have any adverse reaction to this.
Lightweight daytime moisturisers/SPFs -> Murad clarifying oil-free water Gel could be your holy grail! Paula’s choice youth extending daily fluid (moisturiser+SPF) too. Maybe KLAIRS Ultra facial moisturiser etc.
And SPF if you use exfoliating toners ! Klairs UV Essence or PURITO Centella one are great. The first one is a bit more dewy though but look @ reviews comparing the two please.
If you really are greasy/shiny just slap 1/4 teaspoon worth of SPF over your toner and go ! You can just use a thick mask or moisturiser at night. Korean brands do affordable ones (Skinfood, wishtrend, COSRX, Benton, Klairs etc). Otherwise it’s $$$$ stuff. First Aid beauty, Fresh, Laneige, Youth to the People, Elemis, if you wanna stay in the West. I personally just layer Avene+Cerave+Squalane or Aquaphor 😂
PS I forgot my favourite acne toner from my greasy teen years was the Avene Cleanance one! The entire line really. If you have oily skin bc it is dehydrated, the Laneige Cream skin is a moisturiser+toner combo!
^ @anon
That’s a whole lot of information! Thank you for taking your time

skincare reviews because my workplace closed and my classes went online
you already know. it’s been two days and i’ve been reduced to writing about skincare when this is a fan blog. take it or leave it this is the accumulation of skincare products (mainly korean products) i’ve tried out for about three years. I don’t do the 10-step routine, because I like having one or two products with active ingredients that work their magic so I can tell what product works or not. I feel like if I did multiple steps, all the products would cancel each other out and I’d never be able to pinpoint what worked. My skin is normal/dry, with some patches of eczema during the colder months. I had a lot of acne my first two years of high school (2015-2017), so I mainly focus on fighting that discoloration and also hydration. This is in no particular order, by the way.
Acwell’s Licorice pH Balancing Cleansing Toner ($18)      Really love this! I’ve repurchased maybe three times already? Only toner I’ve used that actually helps to lighten discoloration. 10/10
Banila Co’s Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm, Original ($19)      Very lovely cleansing balm; does it’s job at removing makeup and leaves skin hydrated after rinsing. Haven’t tried any other cleansing balms, so I can’t really compare. I think I do remember it leaving the tiniest bit of residue, but I always follow up with a water-based cleanser, so it’s not a big deal for me.  9/10
Some by Mi’s AHA-BHA-PHA 30Days Miracle Toner ($16)      Pretty nice. Did it’s job, but I don’t see the whole fuss about it. With the amount of AHA and BHAs inside, as well as the tea tree water and papaya extracts, it almost crosses into the realm of being a chemical exfoliant. Probably better for those leaning oily. Still good, especially for the price. 8/10
Versed’s the Shortcut Overnight Facial Peel ($20)      Even though this is a Target brand, it’s priced a little higher than the previous items, which I find a little funny. But I don’t mind it at all! A very lovely facial peel, leaves my skin nice and soft in the morning. There’s a mix of lactic and glycolic acid that act as the exfoliants. I prefer chemical exfoliants to physical ones because my skin gets sensitive when it’s really dry. Good to try out! 9/10
COSRX’s Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence ($21)      I. Love. This. Product. I know it’s a little offputting, for the product to be a whopping 96% snail mucin, but its specially formulated for the use on skin. It’s intensely hydrating, but it sinks into the skin super quickly. (I used this in my morning routine before makeup) Really helps with discoloration, too! And it lasts SO LONG. I think I had the same bottle for six months, and I was using this shit everyday. I think it’s really worth the try. 10/10
Enature’s Birch Juice Hydro Essence Skin ($39)     This is up there in price, but I managed to get this on sale for $16, so I’ve decided to try it out. I’ve only used it once, but found that I really liked it. Very hydrating, sinks into skin very quickly, and a nice, light scent! I think I’m going to really like this one. The problem is the future divot in my wallet when I buy this off sale....9/10
Klairs’s Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Drop ($23)      After hearing everyone’s praises on this, I caved. It’s very nice; almost the consistency of a dry oil? Sinks in quickly. I’ve used this on and off since November (so my skin couldn’t get too used to it) and my discoloration has brightened considerably. Enough that I’ve been going to class and work without makeup pretty often in the past two months. It takes some time, but the results pay off. 9/10
Fourth Ray Beauty’s Remedy 10% Niacinamide Serum ($16)      I’ve been buying from Colourpop for over four years now, so I felt the need to try out their new skincare brand. Niacinamide is a miracle ingredient, working to clear acne, lighten discoloration and so much more. I’ve been using this as my only serum in the mornings since it’s such a stable ingredient and not sensitive to sunlight. My skin definitely looks brighter, but this formula...it leaves my skin feeling sort of tight and tacky. I’m not in love with it, but I’ll finish it out. 6/10 Fourth Ray Beauty’s AM To The PM Gel Cleanser ($12)      I don’t like this cleanser. It does its job, yes, but my face feels really dry after rinsing. I thought it was just my initial reaction to it, but halfway down the bottle my skin still reacts the same. Only keeping it to use as my backup cleanser if the one I’m currently using runs out. 3/10
Klaris’s Rich Moist Soothing Cream ($23)      !!!!!!!! I love this! A thicker moisturizer perfect for the colder months. Doesn’t leave my face feeling oddly tight afterwards like some moisturizers do. Not tight as in its not moisturizing, but almost like there’s a super thin cast? Anyway, it doesn’t have that. I’ve repurchased twice already. 10/10
Kiehls’s Ultra Facial Cream ($32)      I also really love this moisturizer. It’s what I was using before I found the Klairs one. A little more lightweight that Klairs, but still very moisturizing. More suited for the warmer months. Pretty sure I bought this at least three times. No weird tight cast after applying! 10/10
Simple Kind to Skin’s Replenishing Rich Moisturizer ($9)      I....don’t like this. Moisturizing enough, but it leaves that tight, cast-like feeling after applying. Was using it as a backup moisturizer when I finished the Kiehls one and hadn’t bought the Klairs yet. 4/10
CeraVe’s Moisturizing Cream ($15)      Yes, the cream that comes in the tub, not the lotion that comes in the bottle. I recently ran out of the Klairs and had to find something quick. Surprisingly enough, this feels almost exactly like the Klairs, if just a little thicker. It leaves the tiniest bit of a cast, but that feeling’s gone in less than an hour, which can’t be said for the previous moisturizers. The thing is, when I apply this at night and wake up the next day....my skin feels so supple. There’s no other word for it. I really love this. And for 16oz of product versus the Klairs’s 2oz, I think I’ve found a new favorite. 10/10
Garnier’s SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-In-1 ($7)      Does it’s job. 13.5 oz for the price is a pretty good steal. Removes my waterproof mascara really well. Nothing too special about it. 8/10
NeoGen’s Real Fresh Foam, Cranberry ($19)      I’ve only just bought this and have only used it once, so take with a grain of salt. My skin kind of badly reacted to it? The symptoms went away after 15 minutes or so, but I’m not casting it aside just yet. I’ve never used a foam cleanser before, so my skin could have reacted from not being used to such a medium. It still cleansed my skin well. The foam itself was very cloudy and soft and the fragrance was very light. It doesn’t scream cranberry, which is what I was worried about. EDIT: After washing a second time the next day, there was no stinging whatsoever. The reaction was probably my skin saying yo what the fuck is this texture? But the pH is 7, neutral, so its a little more alkaline than the skin’s natural pH, meaning there was a bit of tightness after patting my face dry. Would recommend for normal/oily skin. 7/10
Drunk Elephant’s C-Firma Day Serum ($80)      This is....the most expensive thing I’ve ever bought for my skin. I was pretty desperate to get rid of my discoloration about a year ago since it was only getting worse and I was hearing so much praise about this, so I caved. I still only used this at night, since it was still a vitamin C product, despite it saying it was safe to use in the daytime. I feel like it did help a lot with my skin; it delivered results a little quicker than the Klairs serum. Maybe after two months I saw the changes? But what put me off so much is the scent. It smelled so....herbal. And not in the good way. And it was super strong. And after applying, it felt like a heavy oil that wouldn’t sink in. It took forever. Even if it delivered results relatively quickly, I won’t be buying again just because of how strong that scent was. 5/10
Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost Water Gel Lotion SPF 50 ($13)      I’ve been using a BB cream with SPF 30 for years, so I never thought to have an additional SPF product. After hearing that SPF 30 is the minimal protection you should have, I thought to look for something better so I’d be more protected, because I wasn’t reapplying at all. (I wasn’t about to redo my makeup every two hours) This lotion doesn’t leave a white cast which, with my tan skin, was my main priority. It takes a while to sink in, which isn’t that great, since I apply my makeup after putting this on, so I have to wait a little longer. It smells...exactly what you think sunscreen smells. Pretty strongly, too. I’m currently looking for a better SPF 50 that isn’t like $50, but I’ll be using this in the meantime since it doesn’t make me look like a ghost. 7/10 BONUS! Lush Cosmetics Fresh Face Mask of Magnaminty ($15)      This is the only wash-off mask I actually like. (I usually stick to sheet masks) I swear it cleared all those bumps I used to have on my forehead. Like, actually. I love using this on the week I have my period, which is the only time I really get acne now. Really lovely results. 10/10 belif’s The True Tincture Chamomile Cleansing Stick ($30)      This is here because I just found out it’s discontinued.....a real shame. This also really helped those bumps on my forehead. I swear that this, and the mask, got rid of them in less than a month. I repurchased twice before trying out other things and forgetting about it. I really wish this wasn’t discontinued! And that’s it! All that I remember ever trying. Throw down a comment or DM me if you want a more detailed description for any product or if you actually want me to keep doing this for any future products.

Wishtrend’s Pure Vitamin C 21.5% Review (& some of the best ways to treat scarring/pigmentation issues)
Hi all! Today’s review and short informative talk are all about some of the best ways (in my experience) to treat things like acne scarring and other pigmentation issues. In this post I’ll be mentioning two of my favorite (and effective) ways to treat acne scarring, ft. Wishtrend’s vitamin C serum!
Backstory—I didn’t really plan to write this review today but I saw this video in my recommended on Youtube and the title was something like “How to cover acne scarring with foundation” or something like that I was just like...but, but...why not treat and prevent them instead??? So I decided to share some tips and product recommendations with anyone facing a similar issue. And by the way, covering your skin concerns like acne or scarring with makeup is only a temporary solution and can sometimes even make your issues worse. I know sometimes covering your breakout or whatever is the only thing you can do at that moment, but if you’re using makeup in place of treating your skin concerns, that’s not going to help you in the long run, you know what I mean? So anyways, on with the review & tips.
My experience. This is absolutely my favorite vitamin c product I have tried so far (and I’ve tried the super popular Klair’s vitamin c serum, which I liked but not as much as this one). It has a water-like texture and absorbs pretty quickly. I’ve almost finished my first bottle and it is hands down one of the only products that has visibly, dramatically improved my acne scarring. For instance, I have some fairly old scarring on my upper arms that I thought would never go away (and I was ready to wear long sleeves for the rest of my life lmao) but this serum has made the scarring almost completely disappear—yeah, I was shook too. Overall this product has evened out my complexion so much! I’m for sure repurchasing this again and again.
Recommendations. I think anyone looking for a way to diminish their pigmentation issues and even-out their complexion would see great results using this. I feel like a vitamin c product is a staple in most people’s skincare routines for good reason. This is probably one of the lightest and most affordable formulas you’ll find out there with equally amazing results as something much more expensive. Some warnings though. This is a very concentrated vitamin c product so it can be irritating, like it might cause a tingling sensation or slightly warm burning feeling on first applying it. But this wasn’t a big deal to me as it went away once my skin got used to the product and I think it’s normal with something like this. I personally use this in the morning, usually everyday if I’m not exfoliating or using some other product/ingredient that should not be used with vitamin c (do your research!). I don’t use this at night because I use a retinoid, which you should not use at the same time as vitamin c. If you get any unusual amount of irritation from using this vitamin c serum, check what other ingredients you used at the same time because a lot of ingredients (e.g. ahas/bhas, retinoids, niacinamide) should not be used with vitamin c. Not only will using these things at once probably obliterate the effectiveness of the vitamin c serum, you’ll likely irritate your skin. Also, keep this in the fridge or a cool, dark place and don’t leave it out, sitting open for too long. If she’s left out in the sun or air too long, she’ll oxidize (becoming yellow/orange) and lose potency (aka become less effective). If you can see from my photos, the serum should be clear!
Tips for treating pigmentation issues: vitamin c & exfoliation. So as far as general recommendations go, I’m going to mention two methods that I have seen great results from doing—you guessed it: using a vitamin c serum and chemical exfoliation. Granted, there are a ton of ways to fix/reduce pigmentation issues, from niacinamide to glutathione (I might write a post on this ingredient in the future) to tamanu oil to ingredients like lemon and tomato, but I’m just going to focus on these two major tried-and-true ways because it’s what I’m doing in my routine atm. For vitamin c products, I recommend this one by Wishtrend hands down. And there are so many ways to chemically exfoliate, from peels to masks to serums to toners. I usually exfoliate using a mask once or twice a week. Some of my favorite exfoliation products include: The Ordinary’s AHA 30% + BHA 2% peeling solution (I wrote a review here) and Vichy’s Double Glow Peel Mask. I’ve also recently started using Andalou Natural’s Pumpkin Honey Glycolic Mask which I like too. Paula’s Choice’s Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid is a super popular one that I want to try in the future; this one is probably a great option for sensitive skin as it’s on the gentle side, apparently. So yeah, there are a ton of exfoliating products out there to try, just look around and find one that’s right for you. Making sure to chemically exfoliate once or twice a week (or more depending on the product) and using a vitamin c serum (everyday, if possible) are great ways to quickly treat acne scarring and the like.
Let me know what methods or products you guys have used that have been effective at treating your pigmentation issues!
Thanks for reading! (And pssst...go check out sundayskin’s new Instagram @hellosundayskin!) Catch you guys & gals next time!

ooooh skin stuff?? what products do you use / what's your routine? im super nosy and fascinated about this stuff lol
oof, sorry this took so long to answer, i ended up writing a whole damn novel… my b. Anyway i buy my skin care pretty much exclusively from yesstyle (minus a few exceptions, but i’m always open to new suggestions! i am gonna take a look at jolse soon) so i’ll just link the products from there. Also i have a little dinky code for like 2-5% off if you wanna save like… $1 it’s 5NAYTT
Disclaimers before i start though, I have normal skin (i know i’m so lucky uwu) so i generally don’t stress about whether my products work better or worse for dry/oily skin—but i do tend to favor more hydrating/moisturizing products. Also i’m no esthetician or dermatologist, most of my knowledge comes from product reviews, skin care videos, and my own personal experiences. So basically take everything I say and share with a grain of salt :))
We’ll start out easy with my morning routine:
1.)  Mostly i start by wetting my face with warm water. you can also wet it in the shower if you’re a morning shower-er(?) but i’m not lol. IF my skin is feeling really dirty in the morning for some reason though (like if i sweat real bad on a summer night or drown in a pool of drool x-x) i’ll start with the Perfect Whip foaming cleanser
i find that most mornings, bc of my more extensive night routine, my face isn’t often in need of a cleanser
but i really like this bc you get SO MUCH use out of so little product; i use less than a dime-size amount per wash. but i do use this little foam maker thingy which builds up a better and faster foam than using my hands—not necessary but very convenient. there’s also foaming nets you can try, but i’m not familiar with them.
i don’t completely dry my face after use; i like it damp when i apply the toner
2.)  Apply Klairs Supple Preparation Toner
i personally use the original version as i don’t mind essential oil scents, and my skin doesn’t react negatively to them. If oils bother you for whatever reason though, you might want to try the unscented version!
i also pour this into a spray bottle (you can pick these up pretty much anywhere but these are cute if you wanna order some) and apply via spray. No reason other than I just don’t want to buy cotton pads :)
3.)  Apply Snail Repairing Essence
i use this pretty much as a moisturizer but you might want to use an additional cream or something if your skin is on the drier side?
4.)  Apply SPF
okay so… i don’t actually have a rec for this bc i just use whatever my mom has.  and i haven’t actually gotten a korean sunscreen yet bc i don’t go outside and i’m that person (who is v dumb) and doesn’t apply spf consistently in the winter -.- but rest assured, i’ll get some eventually lololol
Okay like i said, pretty easy in the morning! I don’t use essences, just bc i’m still young and a lot of them seem to be focused on anti-aging things that aren’t my main concern. And I prefer to use my serum at night bc it’s got vitamin C and i just told you i’m bad at sunscreen
But night time is where it gets complicated fun:
1.)  Hop in the shower (but if you’re not a nighttime shower-er then you can just cleanse out of the shower) and go in with the Clean It Zero cleansing balm (this also has other versions: purifying, revitalizing, and nourishing but i’ve only ever used the original)
i usually do double cleansing at night, so this is my oil-based “first cleanser”
but i have been known to um… “gloss over” this step if i’m being lazy….. -.-
i like oil-based cleansers bc they’re a nice, gentle way to remove makeup (as opposed to wipes and stuff) and i do use this to remove eye makeup as it personally doesn’t irritate my eyes; i also prefer balms over straight up oils bc they’re more fun ^-^
anyway, i massage it on, emulsify, and rinse! also, if you’re not in the shower, i would keep my face damp after rinsing.
2.)  Perfect Whip foaming cleanser while still in the shower
pro-tip, if you have a foam maker, i would make the foam BEFORE you start. that way you can just apply it right after the balm!
again, i keep my face damp after rinsing off the foam and hopping out of the shower
3.)  Klairs Supple Preparation Toner returns!
again, i have mine in a spray bottle so i spray it on and tap it in!
4.)  IF IT’S SUNDAY, then i will go in with the Lemon Sparkling Peeling Gel next
this is a chemical exfoliator (i finally ditched my knock-off st. ives XD) and i only use it once a week
5.) IF IT’S SUNDAY, and i have one available, i’ll put on a sheet mask next
sheet masks are… honestly all the same to me lol but i order these innisfree ones all the time; my regulars being green tea, tea tree, and aloe (they’re actually cheaper on their website tho so…).  i also really wanna try the A’PIEU Milk Packs particularly in banana and strawberry, so i’ll probs order and try those out when i can justify spending the money on a whole bunch (knowing me i’ll turn it into a whole $40+ order lol)
i leave these on for 15-20 minutes (usually 20), take it off, and pat the remaining product into my skin
also there’s usually some left over on the other side of the mask and/or in the package that i’ll massage onto my neck and body (we try not to do not waste product in this house!!)
if i’ve done a mask, then i will most likely skip this next step
6.)  Apply Klairs Vitamin C Drop
this is pretty much my daily serum as it helps with improving my dark spots and hyper pigmentation (my main skin concern)
i take 3-5 DROPS in my hand… that’s it, i literally wasted so much before i finally decided to stop dropping it onto my face.
apply and pat that bad boy all over!!
7.)  Snail Repairing Essence  returns!
again this is my probably-not-supposed-to-be-but-idfc moisturizer so i just slap it on!
8.)  Almost done, here’s the Snail Repair Eye Cream
this is actually new, but i bought a smaller tube bc 1. i didn’t want to spend a bunch of money on something that might irritate my eyes. and 2. i didn’t. want. to spend. a bunch. of money. but the little nozzle is actually really helpful for getting a small, good amount of cream actually XD
so i’ll squeeze a little line (more like an oblong dot tho) under each eye and use my ring fingers to glide that up to the lid and pat in the product.
9.)  Last one! Berry Lip Mask
basically…. i even buy korean knock-offs lololol
i just apply this to my bottom lip (my top lip never causes me issues??) and let it sit over night
Anddddd that’s everything! Very nearly got to that 10 step dream but, no essence, no clout i guess. Anyway, i do have some additional pro-tips too:
If you’re buying/trying new skin care products, be patient and introduce them slowly. it’s hard, but this way—if one or more products are causing a reaction—it’s easy to just cut it out of the routine. Also i like to think it gives your skin time to become used to the new ingredients and to “normalize” before piling on new stuff (but that could be total bs lol)
“Listen” to your skin; use products that make YOUR skin feel good, and use products when YOU need them. especially with serums and stuff, invest in products that will help you to address your skin concerns and achieve your skin goals (whatever those may be at the time)—and not someone else’s. Also don’t be afraid to admit if a product’s not working, better to chuck it than ruin your skin you know?
From someone who’s experienced a very unpleasant, burning unibrow :))) don’t remove hair on exfoliation day and avoid putting a lot of product on sensitive areas. Also, doing some sort of cleanse before hair removal helps to reduce the risk of dirt and stuff getting into the exposed skin.
Oh and be gentle with your exfoliators (whether physical or chemical) DON’T SCRUB FOR THE LOVE OF PETE to avoid cuts and burns!
If you have a spot (or feel one coming up) , use some sort of spot treatment. you’re much less likely to pick with something if it’s covered up by a patch (these are my faves) which will reduce irritation and formation of dark spots.
Be as hygienic as possible! There’s no towel drying steps in my routine for two main reasons. 1, i like keeping the moisture and hydration from the water as long as possible. and 2, bacteria. is. everywhere. Towels are pretty gross when you think about it and limiting contact between them and your face will probably greatly improve your skin’s health. Also avoid touching nozzle or dropper applicators directly to your hands or face: that way the applicator won’t come in contact with any bacteria or germs and transfer that gunk onto your face every time you use it. Washing your hands and/or tools that DO touch your face is also important in, again, reducing the spread of random gunk.
Take it slow, relax, and enjoy it! Skin time is my relaxation time (especially sunday nights oml so awesome!!), it’s honestly one of the best parts of my day just being able to kick back and take care of myself. Try not to make it a chore, it isn’t supposed to feel regimented or overwhelming, but relaxing and fun!
Okay that’s really it!! And yeah this got really really long….. sorry if you actually only wanted my yesstyle recs XD

November 2020 Empties

* = disliked the product - would not repurchase ** = liked the product - would not repurchase *** = liked the product - might or might not repurchase **** = loved the product - would repurchase *HOLY GRAIL!*
1. innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask 2x (10ml / 0.33oz) source: innisfree sample w/ purchase thoughts: I haven’t used a clay mask in a long time. I do find it nice to use one once in a while but I’m not a big fan of it that I would keep a full size in my stash. I much rather prefer just using sheet masks.  rating: ***
2. innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Toner 2x (15ml / 0.5oz) source: innisfree sample w/ purchase thoughts: I have’t used innisfree products in a long time, that I have forgotten how scented innisfree products are. They smell amazing but the scent is quite strong but I don’t mind it, I did have to get use to it. I have started using products that aren’t as heavily scented but this one smelt very nice to me. The product itself seemed fine, but it is hard for me to say since I didn’t use this product for a long time. However, I’m loving all my current products right now. rating: **
3. QUO Organic Cotton Pads (100 pads) source: Real Canadian Superstore thoughts: These cotton pads felt a little more rough than the other one I tried previously. I didn’t find it as soft plus these came with less pads for the same price. rating: *
4. By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water (5ml / 0.16oz) source: Wishtrend sample w/ purchase thoughts: I was able to get 3 uses out of this sample. I haven’t used an acid on my face for a long time aside from a vitamin C serum that I’ve tried. It did sting when I went over open wounds which is to be expected but I forgot how that pain felt since I haven’t used this in a long time. I really like this since every time I do use this I find my face texture does get a lot smoother. rating: ****
5. isNtree Spot Saver Mugwort Powder Wash (25 packets) source: Credithink? thoughts: I really enjoyed using these. I found that my skin felt more refreshed and it did help in the texture of my skin. I love how that it’s also portioned out. The only downside is that it’s not very cost effective or environmentally friendly. However, my initial thought of purchasing these were for travel but since covid happened I do have a stash of these kind of one-time washes just sitting around. rating: ***
6. celimax The Real Noni Energy Ampule (30ml) source: YesStyle thoughts: This has a herbal kind of scent to it, but I don’t mind. I felt my skin was very moisturized and plump when I used this. The consistency of this is a little thick and sticky, but it does go away. The packaging to my surprise was plastic and not made of glass. It was also very simple, but I love the fact that the top is a twist dropper where it will automatically suck up product when you twist the cap. rating: ***
7. CrediThink Soft Cotton Pads (40pads) source: CrediThink thoughts: These were pretty good, but not as soft as the unisoft ones. rating: *
Tumblr media
8. dear, klairs Daily Skin Hydrating Water (500ml / 16.90oz) source: Wishtrend thoughts: This was an amazingly large bottle. I haven’t seen something like this size before. I did test it out using it like an essence for a few weeks, but I mainly used it as a toner. I liked how refreshing and soothing it was, plus you can also use this as a mist in the summer or even a quick mask. I do not detect any scent to this, plus there aren’t too many ingredients on the list as well. I finished this in 166 days, almost 6 months. I got this on sale during Black Friday in 2019 for $16.07USD because it was part of a set. For the price I paid for this and the duration, I think it was really worth it. I can’t wait to try the other one, but I think I’m going to wait a bit before I try that since the product will last so long. rating: ****
9. Bath & Body Works Micellar Gentle Foaming Hand Soap: Island Papaya (259ml / 8.75oz) source: Bath & Body Works thoughts: I didn’t find much of a difference to the formulation or cleansing power compared to the regular version. I love the scent of this one, which consist of tropical coconut, fresh papaya, and sugarcane. Usually these soaps last a long time for me, however with Covid the soap has been going a lot faster. I love the scent of this but I believe this was a summer scent.  rating: ***
Tumblr media
10. Muji Organic Tea Apple & Elderflower (9 tea bags) source: Muji Japan thoughts: I really loved this tea. I really like teas that have an apple scent/ flavour to it because it almost tastes like apple cider in a way. rating: ****
Throw Away
These products are either old/expired or have been opened for a long time, hence I’m discarding them.

1. Aromatica Neroli Brightening Organic Oil   - Reviews of this were good but the one I received had half solidified and could barely get anything. 2. Harajuku Lovers Fragrance Sampler 3. OUAI Rose Hair & Body Oil 4. OUAI Finishing Creme
