I wonder if he is just the oldest one of the three Sealers (seeing how another Sealer looks pretty young), or it is early hair greying upon bad conditions? Typically, old characters have grey eyebrows too in DS1 face data

These are some really green eyebags! And not the only time we see them, since..

Oswald

He has some as well!

Oswald and Lautrec share origins and sickly, practically greenish skin, but Kirk shares silver hair that seems to be regardless of age and horrible green eyebags! Lautrec's hair is not quite silver, but still very greyish color that seemed to be the case for his unused "younger" data too! And on second look, Kirk's skin doesn't have very healthy tone either (look at images of him above)! And someone stole the eyebrows of ALL of them!

So, Kirk could also be from Carim? Tea?

At the same time, I am a bit back and forth on his design, since he SHOULD be old (you can see on this concept, under his portrait, it says 'late 60s?')... Maybe the version in the game can still be used as a look at his younger self and for observation regarding Carim people, but concept version is how he ages after events of DS1?

Havel

Is he supposed to be an old man, judging from the eyebrows?

jokes aside I'm pretty certain that Elemer of the Briar is loyal to Malenia, or at least perceives himself to be, despite whatever was going on with Marais.

Obviously the Cleanrot Knights at the Shaded Castle are protecting him, but! that's not actually the main thing that suggests it

look at his goofy edgy armor set:

dodge rolls deal damage! it has the Kirk effect!!! this is meta but I can't imagine that this isn't a nod to another occupant of Elemer's FromSoft archetype--that is, yeah: Kirk, Knight of Thorns

Both Elemer's Briar title and his armor effect mirror Kirk's, and Kirk's whole thing in Dark Souls 1 is that he invades you periodically at points along your journey towards the Bed of Chaos. And, when you defeat him for the last time... You find his body next to Quelaag's Sister--implying, of course, that his invading antics were specifically to protect the Sisters of Chaos and to serve the Fair Lady specifically (and to feed her the humanity he pillaged in so doing).

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT ACTUALLY

Quelaag and Quelaag's Sister(look up their lore if ur not familiar) are the FromSoft archetypes that correspond to Miquella and Malenia--they differ in certain ways, but thematically and narratively they are the exact same at core; even their names & monikers reference their forebears.

Miyazaki isn't shy whatsoever about reiterating on previous ideas, obviously, so... the Kirk of Elden Ring, a repeating boss, making his "final" stand before a portrait of a terminally ill woman is quite significant and can't have been unintentional.

Going off of that-- Elemer also of course appears to be the Bell Bearing Hunter, and, in which case... why is he collecting them, actually? To what end? Considering the reason Kirk collected humanity(also yielded by killing friendly merchants), we might be able to guess

I like how Kirk basically cannot exist without simping offering gifts (gathered through murder) to a sad woman fshfhsfdf He serves the Fair Lady in Dark Souls 1, and when he makes a return in Dark Souls 3, what does he do? Right, he NOW serves Rosaria! Whatever happened since DS1, but he needed to return to his roots. Like, this is just his legit trait as a person. What a character

I first met the fair lady and successfully joined her covenant. So i went to look for more lore online bc i didn’t had the ring to know what she was saying. It was very intriguing for sure. For Kirk i think i only fight him once or twice 💀 i didn’t knew he was in the sewers. I screw up his quest lmao. Can’t wait to see him again in ds3 too.

So yeah after i learn the lore of them both and stumble across some beautiful fanarts of them i really began to like them 🥺 trope aesthetic etc love the contrast too. That’s kinda sad why can’t we have nice things 😔 So i like to go find art and fics some times to times. There’s not enough!!! If someone have anything please i am taking almost anything
