i got hobonichi dupes!! kinbor weekly a6 (pink) and kinbor daily a5 (black)

this week's spread at the beginning of the week vs after last night! it's messier than id like but i think that's the realistic part of having a planner that's used everyday.

as badly as i want a hobonichi from everything ive been seeing online, i couldn't justify the price in the event that i.... didnt actually use it. however the kinbor techos are almost the same setup and only cost $10-20 each rather than $40-80 😭 so if it goes well, then maybe i will allow myself to invest in a hobonichi next year. the weekly is for schedule/to-do/planning and the daily is for journaling and documenting my every day :]

i've been recovering from the brutal fall semester of MS2 😭 and now we're straight back into the new spring term. i have my STEP 1 date now April 7 !! and i'm panicking and nervous 😬 cuz the practice test yesterday was Brutal. now i'm not sure if taking it at the beginning of dedicated is worth it. 😭 i'm gonna do a social media detox/cleanse and delete most things off my phone until i take STEP. my u🌏 app is about to become my most used and my best friend. i will try to be more active for accountability's sake but if i cannot post on here, i shall use my friends to hold me accountable haha. that's all my updates for now. 🫡

2025 Line-Up

I was planning to only use a single Kinbor Techo A5 and a Plannerbook Weekly, but my mom had bought me a kinbor for Christmas as well! So I decided to use it as a media journal! Books, Series, Movies! And the other is going to be for memory keeping. And then the Plannerbook Weekly as my day-to-day planner!

look what just came in the mail !!! it's honestly really good, the binding has no problems (that's what i was most worried about since in a video i watched a week ago, the person received a faulty notebook)

i chose the snake one as the foil (?) on it look so cute

the grid is so small, i love it!

the year's index (or however it's called) spread across 6 pages (2 months a page) is great for tracking what courses i have to take/subjects i'm studying

the months view will be great for annotating any important events. i will jot down both uni related stuff as well as personal things i have to do since my uni planning relies on how much free time i have during that day

the weekly spreads will hold every daily and, of course, weekly todos with a week overview on the blank right-side page

the 80 pages in the back will hold important information about my courses (the resources i use to study each subject, the arguments in each course, the professor, the exam dates and exam details)

not really sure if i'll use the back pages like the gift/favorites list, we'll see

memory keeping will be close to non-existent in this one (the a5 is still on its way to me), but I will use some decorations (mainly stickers/washi tape and colored pens)

i find the juxtaposition of my planner/journal stuff (pink and cutesy looking) with my computer stuff (black and blocky looking) really funny

Bought a Kinbor 2025 weeks and an undated A5 Kinbor to use next year. Also got a ring binder to test it out, maybe use it as a commonplace book.

I decided to try out kinbor weeks. Since 2024 hasn't yet started, I decided to experiment with some layouts on notes pages before the start of a new year. Honestly, my anxiety about tasks is down quite a bit because there is not as much white space to fill as it was in Leuchtturm 1917 vertical weeklies. Plus kinbor size is much better for me and the planner is lightweight. Also I want to note that kinbor paper isn't printer white and also isn't very cream. It's right in the middle and I kinda like it even tho I'm more of a cream color person.

Honestly, I've been a little lazy with tracking anything that's not mental health related because I've been obsessing over my new guitar so things became forgotten.

I’m a big lover of the a6 Kinbor notebooks because while I do love many things about the Hobonichi, I use the Uni Jetstream as my main pen, not a fountain pen, so the big perk of the Tomoe River paper isn’t really applicable to me. Also as a student the price point is above what I’m willing to pay and I love an undated planner because some days I use 8 pages and others I write one sentence haha. After my partner passed, I wrote around 30 pages a day for a while. I like having all my things in one place, (journal, planner, homework, quotes, doodles, project planning, junk journaling, etc.) so the Kinbor is perfect for me. I think I’ve used 4 or 5 of them?

This is the cover that made me decide to try out Kinbor! It’s so so cute! I have a little felt doll of my lovely partner in the little window on the front :) I currently have my sketchbook in here with my notebook itself separate haha

Typically I reuse the cover I got with my first one or make my own, but I decided as a treat I’d buy myself the one I’ve been wanting for years and it was on sale! Waiting for it to arrive is a little torturous if I’m honest though lol thankfully I’ll only have to wait around another week. That’ll also be good timing with school starting up again!

Here is an example of how I typically use my journal :) I love combining all sorts of things in my pages. And this is my main pen! I’ve gone through the black ink twice and had to replace it haha. The Uni Jetstream is so nice oh man I love it! This one in particular was a gift from a friend which makes me love it even more.

Cover Page

I realized I had done exactly nothing with my cover pages yet. So I decided to do something about it! I tried out this layering technique and honestly, I love the result! Definitely going to use this technique more often. This is my cover page for my Media Journal, in a Kinbor Techo A5.

♡ I also bought a Kinbor planner. First time kong gumamit ng planner tbh, but this 2025 I want to be more organized and intentional sa mga daily tasks ko. Also, I want to document things physically. De, influence talaga to ng instagram ko. Recently yung algorithm ng tiktok at instagram ko puro cute na journals at planners. Hahaha!

Thank you always, Universe. Mej low ang finances ko at this moment kasi nga bagong kasal pero I trust the universe and God. Chill lang me dito sa gedli, sana may mga opportunities na aligned sa vision ko this 2025.
