While you are warm, walking safe, and living your normal life, here I am in Gaza, waking up to the sounds of endless explosions.

While you take a calming breath, I have been without food for days, hunger is wracking my body, and I cannot even give my children anything to ease their pain. As you turn on your faucet, I look for a drop of water, and the cold penetrates our tattered tent.

How can you live in such security when we are just struggling to survive? 💔

I am Nour, a Palestinian mother with five children, and I have been living with my husband and children in endless hell since October 7, 2023. The war has destroyed everything in our lives. We lived a simple life, but it was full of hope. Now, all we have left is fear and suffering. The school where my children were studying has been destroyed, and my husband’s job, which used to provide us with food, is now just rubble, and we are left with nothing. We now live in a torn tent that does not provide protection from the extreme cold or the constant bombing that surrounds us. Every night we sleep to the sounds of explosions, not knowing if we will wake up to a new dawn. As for food, it has become a luxury that we can no longer afford. The price of flour has exceeded $350, and milk for my daughter Ghazal is available to me for only $125, which is just what we need to survive

Despite all these challenges, we live with only one hope: evacuation when the crossing opens. But the cost of evacuation exceeds $45,000, which is a huge amount that we do not have. We need your help now more than ever. Every small donation is a chance for us to survive, and every support from you is our only hope to survive this hell. Whenever we remember displacement and the shells falling around us, we wonder: Will there ever come a day when we can escape this suffering? Will there come a day when we can provide food for our children in a safe place? All we want is a chance to survive, a chance to escape this hell

This incident happened today to people walking in the street; the place was bombed while they were passing by. There were many casualties and injuries. I was only a few meters away from the scene.

He was glad he could make Edward laugh and he nuzzled at his shoulder a bit before having some more of his drink. When the sunset was described as fruit he arched a brow and chuckled. "Close, its apricot you're thinking of." Killian corrected and looked out a bit longer then glanced back towards the crew. Specifically Izzy.

"Looks like he's enjoying the alcohol I brought over." The younger captain stated with a grin. Izzy was enjoying the stolen high quality whiskey, already on his second cup. Shouldn't be too hard to get the man to over indulge. "He'll be passed out within the hour and we can be on our way." Killian whispered smugly and leaned up to kiss Ed's cheek.

"It's far too quiet! How about a song, men?" Killian called out as he turned to address the blended crew. After a cheer of agreement he started to lead them off with a shanty, something to lively things up and encourage more drinking. What better shanty than Drunken Sailor?

ᒥ☠ᒧ—        He quirks a brow at the greeting, and what follows makes him laugh. "Don't think anyone has ever called me a gentleman before, thats a good one." He shakes his head, having calmed to a gentle chuckle. Edward takes a sip of his own drink, still smiling. Where he may have usually shrugged off the other's head from his shoulder while in front of the crew, he found himself not really caring about it that evening. The comfort was welcomed, and he stared out at the setting sun and enjoyed the moment.

"Makes me think of a fruit, can't quite remember what it was...Artichoke, maybe?" What he meant was an apricot, but artichoke, apricot, tomato, tomato. Unfortunately, he's not nearly buzzed enough for that to be an excuse for his confusion, Edward was just an airhead sometimes. A sailing master and tactical genius, but certainly not an expert on vegetables and fruits. "Whatever it is, ya right, it's pretty."
