We are a family of 10, including a young child and an elderly woman, trying to survive in northern Gaza, where one kilo of flour costs $200. A bad flu has spread and we’re all sick without medicine, we can’t even afford a box of tissues.

We are in Gaza City which will be invaded soon, meaning we will be displaced again. We will have to leave most of our belongings behind because we don’t have a car. Our mattresses, our kitchen stuff, the winter clothes we bought while they were cheap so we wouldn’t have to suffer like last winter. We’ll have to start from zero all over again, I want to cry just thinking about it…

Can you imagine a kind stranger giving you $100 and you only get half of it in cash because of the commission rates?

This is our reality. I hate that I have to keep asking, I hate that it’s never enough, I hate that what could get us through a week before can’t get us through half a day now. But I have to keep asking, for the sake of my baby sister and the rest of my family.
