THINGS I NOTICED WHILE WATCHING BEETLEJUICE BEETLEJUICE AGAIN:
This is a very Beetlebabes-centric post, so if you don’t like the ship, please feel free to scroll away. <3
Beetlejuice cut Delores’ ring finger off, and while it was originally a fun joke in the first movie, there’s deep implications about that action when we look at it with the context of the second film. Beetlejuice attacked her after she betrayed him. Anyone would want to kill the person that poisoned them, but the fact that he took the time to find her finger and deliberately cut her ring finger off (and ONLY that finger) reflects how much that marriage meant to him. It also symbolizes that he’s effectively dissolving their marriage. He’s cut off the physical representation of their love and taken the ring, which he tries to give to Lydia hundreds of years later. He held onto that ring for centuries in hopes of finding someone he deemed worthy of it.
He calls his dynamic with Lydia a long-distance relationship, which could’ve been a throwaway joke if not for the fact that when he clearly notices how hot Janet is, he never talks to her or gropes her like he did with Barbara prior to meeting Lydia. Keaton said BJ wouldn’t be politically correct, so this isn’t to reflect the current political climate, but rather to reflect BJ’s motivations.
Beetlejuice was jobless at the start of the first movie, and in thirty years he’s built a company for his bio-exorcisms. Coupled with the picture of Lydia on his desk, it’s possible he did this to impress her. After all, she’s famous and rich now. BJ’s gotta step it up, y’know?
Probably overheard the convo between Lydia and Rory and deliberately bugged her at that time, because if he can possess the phone or whatever, he can probably use it to eavesdrop. This can be further supported by how he got rid of the influencers but kept the people that mattered to Lydia present—Delia and Astrid.
We can also assume he overheard the conversation where Lydia said that Rory loves her and that has to be enough because of the panning to a gravestone. BJ has a special fascination with graveyards, even tiny model ones. If he did overhear them, it explains why he used the truth serum on Rory. He’s testing him. He wants to see if this guy actually loves Lydia or if he’s using her, and then he gives Lydia the means to exact revenge on Rory rather than doing anything himself.
Lydia spends half the movie being strong -armed into a marriage with Rory, and in a way, it’s reminiscent of the first movie’s marriage attempt. Rory dangles their “love” in front of her like a carrot, and if she doesn’t want to be alone, she has to accept his manipulation and agree to get married. Yet she immediately offers it to Beetlejuice, only sounding annoyed rather than terrified. And the movie spends a lot of time proving that BJ has sincere motives this time around, whereas Rory doesn’t. It pushes an underlying message that if one of these guys is going to be a better choice, it’ll be BJ.
Despite Lydia having a tendency to back out of their deals, he still helps her first. He prioritizes saving Astrid even before finding his “runaway bride” again.
Casually calls Lydia the love of his life, looks so sincere when he says he’ll make her so happy. Clearly spent those 30 years planning that dream-dance sequence.
He doesn’t seem to care that Lydia’s sending him away. That coupled with the end scene illustrates how confident he is this time around. Lydia is still stuck with him, and even if he didn’t get her this time, he will eventually. But he also knows how spooked she is by marriage after being a snoop, so it’s possible that he’s just taking it slow on purpose.
In conclusion: Beetlejuice genuinely does want to be with Lydia and care about her. His feelings have evolved beyond permanent residence in the mortal world. If anything, if he still wants that, it’s so he can be by her side.

Must.... conclude.... Beetlejuice story.... after.... 2nd.... movie....
Go on this journey with me
(slightly edited for a better flow.)
Picture it:
A few years goes by....
Astrid and Lydia had become inceperable after their Halloween from hell and live together, but she eventually talks about wanting to experience dorm life for her first year of college. Lydia is happy for her daughter but is now afraid of being alone, not entirely sure what might happen with so many dreams that always plagued her sleep since the resurgence of ☆he who shall not be named☆ - and I want them to use that line as much as they used "keepin' it real."
The house on the hill will become internationally known as the notorious "Lydia Deets' Haunted Arthouse", she didn't have a show anymore, but that didn't stop her reputation from growing exponentially after the Halloween fiasco. People wanna buy this property for millions of dollars, but Lydia will be too afraid of whatever might happen to anyone, should they ever meet the demon from her nightmares, so she keeps the house by using some of Delia's fame funds to keep the home in their name - something Delia would HATE lol - but Lydia doesn't wanna actually be in the house.
Betelgeuse is stuck in the underworld, trying to hide from a revived Delores that continues to terrorize the afterlife, only now she is destroying the place. If the Sandworm can't kill Betelgeuse, how tf is it gonna kill Delores? Wolf Jackson is of course on the case, but things are getting out of hand. This makes Betlegeuse a prime target for anyone with a soul that might wanna rat him out. And there are PLENTY who wanna rat him out. Trying to find a way out or a way to kill the broad, he has to get creative as he stays in hiding. And where is the perfect place to hide? In a certain model town in a certain model home.
Rory will be undead and use his winning personality to act like he worships the ground Delores walks on so she doesn't suck out his soul. She will say she wants Betelgeuse and wants to kill Lydia. He is cool with that and says he will help her achive that goal. He will then become her lacky and tell her how pretty and perfect she is to keep the target off his back. He will be terrified of her but this will gradually make her love Rory and this can cause some potential fun for future scenes.
Lydia has nightmares that always involve Betlegeuse, even some can involve them going on wacky cartoon adventures from the show, but they'll be creepy and dark and stop-motion because Burton. She tries therapy, but it will end up being a bust. It's hard finding the right therapist with someone as much truama as her. OH MY GOD HAVE MICHAEL KEATON PLAY THIS CHARACTER!!!!! (Nice little nod to movie 2) It will freak her tf out thinking she's seeing Betlegeuse everywhere!
This will cause her to become a shut-in after getting rich off the royalties of selling her personal story - a melodrama of love and the loss of two parents after a lifetime of hauntings from their psychic daughter. She sells this story to various people who want to write it into something. She will end up reading raving reviews about a live theater production of her story called "Ghost House" or "Scared Sheetless" after a graphic novel that was released or some shit. Supernatural levels of meta. Might as well! :D
After a particular dream that ruffles Lydia awake in her own apartment, (the dream at the end of movie 2 maybe?) something strange will happen to the house on the hill, causing Lydia to go back and figure it out. Astrid will hear of this and not want her mom to be there alone and goes with her to help solve the mystery. Lydia thinks she knows what (or who) it is and doesn't want Astrid to come along, but she does anyway.
Hiding there in the model, Betelgeuse will see that she and her daughter have returned, thinking she's finally come to her senses and come back to him lol. Betelgeuse gets desperate for Lydia's attention in the best way he knows how - dreams. They've got a psychic connection, and he's done it plenty of times, but now it's for business as well as pleasure.
It would be some kind of earthquake that shakes the hill. Being careful and walking around whatever damage was mysteriously done, some locals say its another haunting and they want to tear the large house down and make something new. Aatrid can hear these comments and relay them to her mom. This will start making Lydia curious about the history of the hill this house was built on, especially since it's so close to the graveyard (the same place Betlegeuse was buried in the model in movie 1)
So she goes on a hunt in the small town, expands it a little, maybe even find the Mainlands old shop? This can parallel with expanding the afterlife while Betlegeuse is trying to find allies. Betelgeuse tries to round up anyone he knows that he can trust - literally anyone from the past - gotta bring Catherine O'Hara and Gena Davis back, right? Stop motion her in as a ripple in dimensional shifts or something and just use her voice. Richard would help as a thanks for helping his kid in the past, and I KNOW we can get Bob back if we tried.
Lydia can end up learning about some of Betlegeuse's history - finds a picture of an eerily familiar couple - but all this place knows is that they were just two of the MANY that were tossed in mass graves on this land centuries back but they don't know details other than they came from Italy. She will make it a mission to go to their original resting place to try to get more info. She's rich. She can do that. (Their love story was in Italy, right?)
Getting to Italy, Lydia learns the urban legend of a murder suicide of some nutorious bad couple who was known for terrorizing the nights in their hellrsising escepades, but after they were dead and buried, the two lovers corpses, along with many other discarded corpses of dead evil people, were moved out of their original land and brought to a new land to be buried there - getting rid of unwanted individuals so they could bring in the industrial revolution. There will be several names, but two will stand out along with a picture -- Delores and another name that's crossed out. Make it Lawrence, lol. Isn't that Betlegeuse's name in the cartoon?
"Betlegeuse?" Lydia whispers.
“Mom!”
“S-sorry."
Astrid tags along with her mother, happy to travel and hunt creepy shit again. Her dad would be proud. This time she won't meet a boy but maybe a girl who was also doing her own research for school. Jeremy was technically her first experience with a boy, and it's possible to stray away from reminders of bad experiences and kids experiment at this age anyway. It will be a cute goth girl who is a fan of Lydia's old show and is one of the first girls Astrid's age to ever actually be nice to her. A nice connection. This could also be a ploy to pull Lydia back into BJs world again, too - yay twists! She can maybe be an illegal ghost girl looking for help from Lydia because she thinks the paranormal human can help everyone in the afterlife.
Underworld is in chaos, and here is a rift between worlds after so many souls had been taken from the afterlife. There's no more order, reality is breaking, and the only way to get everything back in order is to destroy the soul sucker and release the souls she has absorbed. The more she absorbs, the more power she gets.
They get home, and another shift happens between worlds, and with so much death in the afterlife, it's causing serious problems in the real world and Astrid has an idea to maybe call someone for help. Lydia shuts it down, but more rifts and earthquakes happen. She will have another dream of him trying to get her to call his name. And maybe she can awaken in a living nightmare caused by the rift between worlds, and they are both almost killed (by a sandworm, why tf not!!!) before calling Betlegeuse for help.
Get real 'out there' and put those practical affects to good use and let the shenegins begin! As much as I love watching Betelgeuse try to marry Lydia, there is no attempt at marriage this time. There's too much to do. "I just saved your life, now you can help me save mine and finally kill that soul sucking witch for good.”
“No games. No tricks.” Lydia warns.
“I'm not the trickster in this relationship babe,” he wickedly grins, “but we can get back to that after we save our asses. You're coming with me.” Have him turn into a tour guide as he shows off different aspects of the afterlife thays falling apart before the three of them eventually have to run from people who have allied themselves with Delores to find Betelgeuse.
Imagine the reunion of seeing Rory with Delores. Imagine crazy shit that can magically appear to help end the story. Hell, have the goth girl Astrid meets to come back and redeem herself at the end. I dunno. She can appear and admit to being Delores daughter (before meeting Betelgeuse) and thats why she was at the same place Lydia and Astrid went in Italy to find answers- she was too.
This relationship can parallel Lydia and Astrid's positive one- have Delores sacrifice her daughter to start her sacrificial rite for power, and her daughter never forgive her (I swear I am just pulling this out of my ass) have the girl hold vengence for her mom and she can give Lydia the dagger that her mother Delores killed her with that still has the young girl's cursed blood on it. She says to use it to kill Delores, but Betelgeuse is the only one strong enough who can get close enough to do it.
With so much chaos and so many souls taken, anything can happen in the underworld, and chaos ensues. Maybe even break in to see glimpses of the afterlife, perhaps they see a glimpse of hell and see how Jeremy is being tortured (it will be a silly Tim Burton way). They can see part of the great beyond maybe wave at Delia (and the back of Charls’ head) too?
They finally meet Delores and she will say she is over Betelgeuse, happy with her new pet Rory. It's a shock for Lydia to see Rory there but isn't surprised to see him so desperate to fawn after Delores. Satisfied with the new power she’s gained, Delores prefers to keep Betelgeuse alive to torture him.
Lydia will give Betelgeuse the dagger so he can pop her like a bubble and all the souls she's consumed will escape and go back to their soul holders. But why waste energy killing Betelgeuse when Delores can just use him? She is able to levitate him up but Lydia, Astrid, and the goth girl work together to pull him back down. - this is where the goth girl can suddenly enter for the final fight!
Seeing her daughter makes her angry, and seeing her help her foes pisses her off. Delores grows in size to show her strength, and ordering Rory to take care of those little girls. Little goth girl and Astrid go after Rory and Lydia will get a plan -
"Oh... you're not into him anymore, huh? So... you wouldn't care if I did this?" And Lydia pulls that fucker in to kiss him. (This feels very Phantom of the Opera coded.....) Just a peck is enough for Delores to RAGE and she goes full attack mode. She goes after Lydia and Beletgeuse steps in front of her and kills Delores with whatever magical shit her dead vengeful goth daughter supplied, lol. (And I'm talking full jack sparrow stabbing the kraken slow mode scene) Epic as shit!!! Delores daughter will then rest in peace.
Astrid will then ask herself, “Now why the hell can't I connect with humans like I can with ghosts?”
“Family trait, unfortunately.” Lydia says feeling Beletgeuse's breath literally go down her neck with his close proximity. "At least they didn't try to suck you into marrying them."
End it with Lydia being recruited by Wolf Jackson to find those who have been lost in the real world or something. Make it to where she and Betelgeuse have to work together to keep the plane between the living and the dead closed with her as the keeper of the house.
Have the house be the main character in the end!!!!
Betelgeuse will turn to Lydia and say, "So, you're not the marrying type, eh? I'm fine with that-" He'll try to pull her in for another kiss, but she'll push him away.
"Nooo! No-" He lets her shove him to the floor, "I just knew something like that would save your ass. That's what you asked for right? Now we’re even." He quickly jumps back up. "I know jealousy when I see it.”
"You sure do." he inches closer to her, but she crosses her arms looking away, seemingly uninterested.
"Betelgeuse...”
"I can wait, honey. I know you want me." He flexes as he slowly walks away with pride. "No one can resist ‘the juice’ once they've had a taste." He winks.
Astrid groans for her mother, but Lydia just looks to him like she always does.
"Betelgeuse..."
"You will be the one to kiss me again, babes." He holds his arms out in his iconic way. "I got all the time in the world." He thinks this is the end.
"Betelgeuse."
Hmmm.... he doesn't disappear?
But he does give a wicked smile.
Turns out when killing the spirit of the soul sucking witch, the souls did escape, but her power had to be absorbed by someone, and Betelgeuse didn't... really... need.... help with obtaining more power, did he?
Would he be like demi-god state now? Why the hell not? Give me an Astarion evil ending kind of transformation. Give me love and deepspace realness. (google those). Go the whole nine and make him HOT AND SCARY in the end. Michael Keaton is attractive. It's doable! Antihero status! Make it wild! Demigod!!!!
Imagine THAT being interested in you, Lydia. I don't think you'd say no.
End it with his new form levitating and him saying that that iconic voice and green glowing eyes. "It's Showtime."
Throw in a musical number somewhere, a little justice for Bob and you have a lovely story.
There. Done.
I don't think a 3rd will be made, and if there is one, I don't think it would be this ^ stupid! Lol

obsessed with the little acting choices in this movie.
the church scene alone... the priest whose name i still can’t remember hiding behind wolf jackson’s frozen body. the way rory looks pleadingly at lydia and she smirks at him. every snippet of rory and delores interaction. astrid and delia’s silent shared bafflement at the dance moves. the ‘this is about to get real awkward’ faces betelgeuse makes when he’s giving rory truth serum. astrid having to walk away to stifle her laughter during the truth serum. the subtleties of lydia’s expression when she’s singing directly to betelgeuse—there is so much ‘what the hell is wrong with you’ in her eyes and facial movements that he cheerfully ignores.
the fucking banishment. oh my god.
lydia: betel— betelgeuse, seemingly on instinct: AH— lydia pauses for a second, then, firmly and with a delicious hint of ‘oh you did NOT just shush me’: betelgeuse. betelgeuse: *hisses like a cat*
i am desperate for the screenplay to come out so i can figure out what was planned all along and what wasn’t. the cast killed it (killed. like. dead people. ghosts. i’ll see myself out).
but anyway when i say i want betelgeuse and lydia to be friends, it’s not because i think it would be narratively satisfying. it’s because i could watch michael keaton and winona ryder arguing in character for hours. it’s not what they say it’s the intense unspoken ‘what is fucking wrong with you’ vs ‘i know exactly what is wrong with me and i am doing it on purpose to fuck with you lol’ that accompanies it. anyway.
every hyperfixation ends up at this ‘EXTREMELY detail-oriented’ point sooner or later…

FNAF 4 theory - Vengeful spirt's reason for being the one William should't have killed
I posted two versions of it on Reddit and I am still trying to figure out some details.
this involves the golden duo theory and that the spirit is Cassidy.
this door is what started this theory and dittophobia helped alot.
Cassidy in the silver eyes is described as a girl with long black hair.
Dittophobia is from the Tales series is alluding to the FNAF4 location being an experiment in sister location.
in Sister location we see the FNAF 4 house are three small areas in Sister Location their not a real house in fact two of the places are labeled Observation 1 and Obersavation 2.
Golden Freddy was never dismantled in the minigames of FNAF 3
William dismantles Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy but not golden Freddy.
I think Dittophobia and the Real Jake makes it clear that the plushie is indeed just a plushie and a walkie Talkie that William talks through. William talks at the end of Dittophobia to the test subject.
The fredbear plush actually moves supernatrually but its not because it is haunted or anything its because its not real the minigames and the gameplay their experiments ....its William talking to Crying Child in this simulation of his life....a loop of memories. the Keeping someone in a loop is something Cassidy later does to William as revenge because thats exactly what he forced her to endure.
in fact the vengeful spirit mocks him through the Nightmare Fredbear lines.
"Let me put you back together, then take you apart all over again". - seems to refrence the I will put you back together line
"We know who our friends are, and you are not one of them" - seems to also mock what the fredbear plush is saying because presumaly both Cassidy and CC are the ones speaking it also mocks what william does in the movie and books where he uses a drawing to make it seem like hes their friend.
Cassidy and the Crying Child in golden Freddy can't be seperated as if they sorta became one their Remant and Agony mixed they used to be two people now their just golden freddy. Maybe if they are golden freddy or have been melted down to something else even.
could also refer to this. What have you brought home? golden freddy ... you brought the protagnist of the game home.
“You’re safe here, Rory,” the voice said. “This is your home. You’ve been watched over here. You’ve never been abandoned. Never left alone. All these years, you’ve been cared for. Because you’re special, Rory, and you deserve to live in this special place. Safe and secure. Never alone. This is your home.” -Dittophobia.
If William's goal was to somehow get to his son....than Cassidy being there is a hinderance. Cassidy becomes someone he should't have killed because not only is she actively trying to hinder what he plans but she is in the way by being melted into one with his precious son.
I wouldn't be suprised if the way Custom Night potrays the room is how it actually looks like. in fact the vents seem to be at the right place according to the sister location map.
However we know Mike also had to be there. Maybe he was the protagnist for the nights where Nightmare Fredbear and Nightmare become active Cassidy can influence Dreams as shown by the golden freddy kid in the movie and Andrew in the books keeping William in a purgatory in his mind.(the two souls of Golden Freddy are also likely represented by Nightmare Fredbear and Nightmare.) or he was an observer.
I don't think William intentionally made the observation rooms to scare Crying Child either. everything the plush says is soothing in a way (tommarow is another day )
Charlie : " Because we didn't come here first, if you were a little kid and you saw the cute commercials ,than saw these posters and toys and stuff , than i think that is exactly what they would have look like."
John: "but we know better we already seen them for exactly what they are monsters" - Twisted ones.
William was actively setting up a happiest day too. hes the one behind the happiest day in fnaf 3 and we see this here aswell as in Fnaf World presumaly.
It's even mentioned in the short stories aswell like Eleanor trying to trick Jake into a birthday party only to realise the cakechoice is off or Maya being stuck in a birthday, even the logbook can reference that considering Mike wrote Certain death on the Page about the Happiest day speaking of which.
the one getting the cake here is Cassidy but the cake is clearly meant for Crying Child unless they are one in the same not because they used to be one but their now one they used to be two people but can't remember the dead forget as stated in silver eyes
this minigame has you walk in as puppet as Charlie to the last table to have a birthday party this mirrors the day both of them missed.
Silver Eyes mentiones a toddler snatched on Halloween 1983 which ends up being Charlie. Charlie died that day the reason charlie rushes to the birthday party this time is because this time she is not locked outside this time she can be part of the party.
there is a Birthday Party on Halloween of someone turning 7 which is most likely the Crying Child (probally also the reason we get halloween updates for alot of the games) Charlie still dies first and Crying Child dies flatlining at the hospital soon after.
the Fnaf pizzasim poster that represents the aftons could actually also relate to this The handpuppet is Mike, William is the man. Elizabeth the clown and the crying child is the Bear but the bear is on a leash in chains held by the clown. Hes trapped kept on a leash the funtimes most likely stopping them from escaping thats why we also see them in help wanted.
moving over to fnaf world: "But you don't really believe that, do you? There is a task for you to complete. You need to leave breadcrumbs for him, to help him find his way.
We are still your friends.
Do you believe that?
The pieces are in place for you.
All you have to do is find them.
Rest.
the trophy you get is a nolonger crying child and it seems to be heavily implied to be about fnaf 4.
Dreadbear might also represent the fact that William tries to put him back together or revive the crying child (also to note frankenstein's monster which he is based on is made out of several corpseparts from diffrent people hes also leaving the red lake that the Vengeful spirit went into)
Great escape freddy could also relate to Golden Freddy leaving said lake.
Security Breach might also be a loop like how dittophobia is a loop
we see Gregory draw all of the endings maybe because he experienced them before. I feel like the pizzaplex is another loop.
I found this in the scrapped Emails for FNAF AR. Greg A. is in IT.
( dr rabbit was a hacker and patient 46 was good with technology) ---red velvet the same cake that Jake has at his fake happiest day in his story.
Jake shrugged. “I don’t know where he gets his food. But yesterday, we talked about what kind of cake we like. He likes chocolate, just like I do.”
"Somehow Jake knew that the cake was red velvet with cream cheese frosting, his favorite. Jake laughed at his friends’ cheers, took a deep breath, and then huffed and puffed like the Big Bad Wolf in “The Three Little Pigs.” He extinguished all the candles at once. Jake’s heart was full of happiness. There were smiling faces all around him, smiling faces that were soon to be stuffed with cake and ice cream. But wait. None of this was real. It wasn’t even a memory."
to note is that Lally in Lally's game was found in a chest similar to the FNAF4 chest
the same goes for the Charliebot found in a chest.
and now looking back to the plot of Security Breach.
Vanessa A (afton in the movie) with a dad named Bill being similar to Elizabeth in charge of security of the pizzaplex (just how Elizabeth and the funtimes were probally in charge to keep Golden Freddy put)
Gregory ( who seems more and more like a version of crying child if a robot or digital in VR)
Cassie ( Greg's friend who is named something similar to Cassidy )

My broken Angel - Gage x fem!reader
warning : drug use, use of mommy/ma'm, emotional, angst, hurt/comfort, smutish, blood, emotional breakdown, no use of Y/n, afab reader
Summary : A call that had saved him and his colleague Gage was free. But free from the old building did not mean free from the addiction and the day. He needed someone, he needed his girlfriend to take care of him and relieve him of any pain.
Info : It's been far to long since I have wrote something for Rory's characters and today say hello to Gage from Bullet Head a newcomer in my masterlist but my sweet angel. No seriously he is so inspirational just by looking at him OMG. So anyways have fun reading and I hope you Rory lovers have found your way back here ;)
Ps : I tried to look the movie online obviously not illegal but somehow my internet was like ,,No-No-No we don't do that here". So I only had a scene pack on youtube, edits and trailer of the movie to get his charcter/personality. I hope despite it I wrote him good.
masterlist
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Everything that could have gone wrong had gone wrong. A break-in, it was just a damn break-in, a robbery and not something that should scale. At least that's what the three of them thought, it was supposed to be simple and not the possible end of their careers.
But in the end it was a nightmare the dog was not the man's friend the dog who tried to kill them the police and the men from the illegal dog fight they all tried to get them. If a call hadn't gone through, if one more thing hadn't happened.
If Gage hadn't been successful in calling his girlfriend, they would never have gotten out of here. She could tell by the trembling of his voice that he was stammering slightly and was nervous that something was wrong.
,,Just wait as best you can, I'll be right there," she had exclaimed into the cell phone for fear he wouldn't hear before she had rushed into the car to drive to the place. Her fear grew by the minute.
She didn't approve of his robbery, didn't approve of his secret, didn't approve of what he was doing. And yet her own job was not enough with his to pay any bills.
It was necessary, and although he was so fragile when you broke him, he sacrificed himself for her. ,,I'll-I'll take any job for you," he had once said as he gently pulled her into his arms.
His blue eyes showed truth and yet she saw the fear that he knew was dangerous. Saw that he was full of fear of the world, he would stay with her and would prefer to stay in her arms.
Ever since they had met, she had given him a bowl of soup at the food bank, something like dependency had developed between them. She was his anchor, his everything. And he would do anything for her so as not to lose her, but he would do just as much for his addiction.
She had seen it at first, the twitching, the nervousness, his diminished eye contact. But the worst was when she found him in her bathroom with the needle next to him, the oozing blood flowing from his arm and the tear-stained look on his face.
She didn't feel disgust or revulsion, she felt devotion. She called him angel from then on. Since then he was the image of a broken angel. The black hair, the bright blue eyes, the self-harm in the form of addiction.
He was so fragile that she believed that if she left him he would kill himself, that he saw no point in giving up, that he was so scarred by life. And yet she let him do his business, relying on his colleagues to make sure everything went well. Until now.
Now she raced through the streets in her car towards the building, knowing that all she had to do was open the door and get out, but she didn't know what she would find.
Please just be complete,she pleaded inwardly, thinking back to that evening. As she slowly knelt down to him, she picked up the needle and looked at it.
Saw the drop of the drug, saw how the heroin had to go through his body. ,,I'm...so-sorry," she had heard him murmur as he opened his eyes, saw him looking at her and felt her heart beat faster.
She knew it was wrong that she wasn't disgusted and angry. But she wasn't angry like she should be, her anger came from the worry that he would die one day.
But before she let this coldness of punishment out on him or even let it get to him, she felt his cold, slightly trembling hand on hers. How he tried powerlessly to move up slightly to get closer to her. ,,You're just so... helpless," she replied, making it sound like a statement she was right to make.
He didn't speak back, just nodded silently and cuddled her almost pleadingly in her arms. He knew that she would always take him in and catch him. That she wouldn't leave him, wouldn't hit him, wouldn't be brutal like his father.
She was almost like a mother and was only too willing to blur this reality. ,,My helpless Gage, you'll never do it for me again, will you?" she asked, putting her arms around him. She could feel him looking at her, taking his head off her shoulder and moving closer to her.
He wanted to kiss her but she used her hand to gently grip his jaw. ,,I promise, I'm sorry...Mommy," he said, tears gathering in his blue eyes before she released him and he gave her a sloppy kiss before he fell limply back into her arms.
And all this while the little trickle of blood ran from his arm. The first time he had called her that she had accepted that he needed it.
She would not let him fall apart in this world. That was the first time she had ever seen him so ready. And now? ,,How do I find you now?" she asked into the car when she finally arrived at the building.
Getting out of the car and trying to find an entrance, the situation soon revealed itself, a dead getaway driver, Gage's colleagues suspiciously quiet, the sound of a dog barking what almost seemed like a farewell and then she saw him. ,,Gage! You're alive!" she shouted when she saw the black-haired man who seemed to be hiding behind the two older men.
,,Hello dear," he mumbled and lowered his gaze, not wanting her to see him like this, but the blood that had flowed from his nose was already dripping and he couldn't get rid of it without water. Besides, the pain and the smell of metal distracted him from the addiction that was raging inside him.
,,Your nose is bleeding," she realized with fear and carefully grasped his face, looking left and right to see if he still had anything. Every further bruise and every scratch and scrape made her heart ache even more.
,,It's...nothing," he said, mumbling, knowing that the other two wanted to go home, away from this place, that his friend was the thing that separated them from freedom. He gently took her hand, it was cold, and she saw his smile, saw through it, knew he was suffering.
The sigh that left her lips made him slightly sincere. Wordlessly, she squeezed his hand and gave him a look that could best be interpreted as one of concern before she opened the car and they all got in.
The engine started and they drove away from this terrible place. It was quiet between the four of them, no one said anything, no one dared or wanted to.
They had all experienced too much to want to dwell on it. She saw in the rear-view mirror that the two older ones were looking out of the window, their thoughts still completely elsewhere.
If he had died, I would have blamed you, she thought, her hands tightening around the leather of the steering wheel. His colleagues were the reason why he was now almost slumped over in the passenger seat.
His hands folded on his lap, she saw him trying to rub off the excess skin on the sides. The blood was still on him and he just looked completely wiped out. ,,It's going to be okay," she said softly and put her hand on his thigh for a moment. She felt him flinch and his gaze went to her.
The broken angel. She saw again the angel she loved and cared for. ,,It will be," he replied almost appathetically and squeezed her hand lightly, a touch that could almost have been an illusion. But she had felt it, she was there. He was with her again.
The car journey, which dragged on for a few minutes, only ended when the two of them were no longer in the car. The colleagues had been gone for a long time and they had closed the front door of the apartment behind them.
When she heard his almost vulnerable sounds as they walked up the stairs to the apartment. She saw him getting more and more lost and as the front door closed, tears flowed down his cheeks. ,,Gage...it's okay, I'm here...it's over," she said instantly and put the front door key aside, taking him by the hand, hearing him try to say something but it came out slurred under his crying.
She pulled him behind her on the way to the bathroom, the white streams in contrast to his blood and the blue of his eyes standing out against the dark charcoal black hair.
,,Don't...don't go," he said clearly, holding her firmly by the wrist as she sat him on the edge of the bath. He seemed completely out of it, distraught, traumatized, and partly because of the drugs, at least that much she guessed.
Leaning down to him, she gently stroked his dark hair and heard his suppressed whimper as his blue eyes turned to her. ,,I'm not going Mommy is just getting a towel okay?" she asked knowing it wasn't really a question. Gage knew inside himself that she was the one in control.
But he should still give his understanding to his inner self. Because a dangerous angel on earth could break at any time. Her gaze met his and her eyes detached themselves from the blood.
Showing him that she wasn't lying, she felt his grip tighten for a moment, he didn't want to be without her. Before he nodded slightly and gave a soft, ,,Okay ma'm" before letting go of her, his hand landed powerlessly on his leg and he remained sitting on the edge of the tub.
She calmly moved away from him, knowing that nothing would happen, and walked with unerring steps into the kitchen to fetch a towel and return as promised.
Saw how he exhaled shakily with relief when he saw her again, that she hadn't left him, that he wasn't just imagining her through the heroin. ,,Don't be alarmed, I'll wipe the blood off. Everything will be all right again in a minute," she said gently and gave him a small, warm smile.
She knew that he needed her, that she was everything to him, that her angel was everything to her. She took the cloth and held it under lukewarm water before she carefully began to dab away the blood and then rub it.
What at first only led to a wince became a plea and whimper after she rubbed it. ,,Shhh I know I know," she said slightly warningly, feeling his hands on her side as he held on almost convulsively, seemingly unable to bear the pain.
She knew exactly what pain. ,,I just need you - I need you," he stammered, she knew what he meant and, above all, what he wanted.
By the time she had wiped the rest of the blood from his chin and cheek, there was hardly anything left of the injuries. He pulled her close and leaned his head against her stomach, hugging her, wanting to be closer to her.
She put her hand on his head as she did every time, stroking his black hair and holding him. ,,I know...I know Gage and you can do it too...but no drug...for today," she replied slowly, feeling him almost flinch as if she had hit him. But they both knew what it meant for the black-haired man.
More hours, another day without his drug. She knew he was screaming and raging inside that he needed it and yet he was so pathetically handsome to look at.
She placed a hand on his cheek and watched him lay his head against it, snuggling against her before he rose, powerless and surrendered. His hand was entwined with hers and he slowly led her into the bedroom.
The big bed they shared had seen better days, but that wasn't the point. What was between them was something completely different.
She saw him sit down on the bed, almost about to fall asleep, he didn't seem to know what he wanted to do for a moment. ,,Wait, let me help...everything will be better in a minute," she said and squeezed his hand before letting go of his.
She went to the window and drew the curtains, closed the door and undressed slightly. Folding her jeans and putting them aside, she had long since taken off her shoes and removed her top.
When she saw his gaze go to her, he almost seemed to be asking permission to look at her body. ",,The night is all yours," she murmured and opened her bra before it fell to the floor and she took her large T-shirt.
Hiding her body underneath, the shirt went up to her thighs. She saw him scrambling over to her as she lay down on her side of the bed.
Leaned against the pillow and opened her arms to him. ,,That's it," she said and Gage lay down between her legs. His upper body leaned against hers, his head on her shoulder, his hands on her legs.
She felt his tension, felt the slight trembling as his fingers traced small circles on her thighs again and again. ,,I-I'm not getting anything, am I?" he asked, she knew he was looking at her through the built-in mirror in the closet door. She saw his blue eyes closely. She slowly let her hands go of his hair.
What had started as a light stroke became a distraction. ,,No, you got me Gage...that'll have to do for today," she admonished him but didn't raise her voice, letting her hand wander over his neck.
She could feel the rapid pulse underneath and wanted to make it clear to him that he should pull himself together. That she would give him something.
But his protesting whimper was little resistance. Instead, she felt his fingers lightly draw the small circles further up to her center. ,,I know what you want, my angel," she murmured and let her hand wander down over his top.
Went under his shirt and felt the soft, cold skin of his upper body. Heard him exhale shakily as he pressed against her, he knew what she was getting at.
She lightly scratched his cold skin the lack of pain wasn't enough he wanted more instead the red strands were burning him. ,,Please-Please...I need you," he murmured, his gaze going to hers and she gave a knowing grin.
,,I know, my angel," she replied and gave him a soft kiss on his black head of hair before running her fingers over the waistband of his trousers. She felt his tension move around the silver button, wanting to finally be distracted with something else.
If it wasn't lust for addiction then it was always lust for love. For her. She slowly saw the bulge forming in his pants as she stroked the heavy fabric of his jeans.
The coldness that always seemed to emanate from him slowly mingled with the warmth of devotion. ,,Please-please Mommy," he murmured, pushing his hip against her hand, trying to get more of the feeling.
,,You were so strong today...I want you to have it all," she whispered and undid the button of his pants, pulling down the zipper and seeing his cheeks turn pink at the sound. Before she stroked his hardness, she saw the clear bulge in his shorts.
She gave him another kiss on the head before she closed her fingers around his hardness and made a few strokes over the hardness of his pants, the fabric teasing him and asking him to give her everything.
,,Let me hear you," she reminded him and took care of him again. The room filled with his lustful noises, the use of heroin long gone.
But his search for her was something he needed even more than his drug. She only needed one thing. Her broken angel.
just saw beetlejuice 2 lol time to have thots about it
so first off overall it was fun. i enjoyed that they centered a lot of the plot around the guy played by the pedophile actor getting killed horribly. it was very funny and we had a good time.
that said, i think it would have been a lot tighter if they didn't have three separate villains happening. either they should have focused on rory/jeremy as being parallels for each other, the different ways men manipulate and emotionally abuse women, OR they should have done dolores alone. i wish they had done dolores alone and then she won i think she should have won. i was looking very respectfully the whole time
but with three of them they all ended up kind of weak, and i know this is a Silly Goofy Film so i probably shouldn't look so much into it but idk they could have all been a lot scarier if they weren't all vying for attention the entire time. i think rory was the most compelling villain mostly bc we got to see him the most lol, but even then in the end he was very...toothless. like he was soooo sinister and again the parallel with jeremy if rory had also been some kind of murderer, if he'd killed his first fiance rather than made her up and then went on the prowl for another vulnerable woman to manipulate/abuse/murder you know??? esp lydia bc if he'd married and then killed her he could have gotten sooooo much money for it, and while that's not the most original plot idk it would have given his villainy more Weight i think.
and in that vein i think jeremy could have been more layered too/could have had a more poignant death than he did, especially if astrid was involved instead of betelgeuse doing it by himself. like he talked about his parents being neglectful and potentially abusive but to have killed them the way he did was INTENSE like there had to be some INSANE shit going on, either in his house or in his head. plus it was kind of dumb to have his death be that he fell out of the treehouse while it was surrounded by cops lol. i know they wanted something that would be easy to hide but like. he could've shot himself in the head and then just wore a hat all the time. like there are more interesting ways he could have died or killed himself that were easy to hide.
and lastly dolores was like......she felt wasted here. they introduced the soul sucking thing and built her up and then she barely gets to do anything at the end. i wanted to know more!!! where did the soul sucking come from? could she still do it while alive? it's a known thing so are there more? why wasn't she allowed to eat betelgeuse that would have been great. she could turn anything she touched goth WHY WASN'T SHE THE MAIN VILLAIN !!!!! it just felt like other than her killing bob she was just kind of Around being Menacing and didn't really have any real impact on the story lol like if you cut her plotline entirely the movie would essentially be the same
anyway all that aside like i said it was very fun. i love willem dafoe. rory's fucked up therapy speak straight guy incel shit was well done, even if his ending was kinda meh. the richard reunion was sweet tho idk what this movie has against protestors lol there were so many jokes about protestors being stupid weirdos who end up basically killing themselves for no reason
I had to pass out last night so I didn’t get a chance to take a look at your posts until now, and this is easier than reblogging shit over and over. And forgive me for missing things - it’s ass o,clock in the morning here. I really like your theory about it being married to the cartoon, because I do feel like the Beetlejuice we got in the second movie is a lot more like that iteration than the first movie. I’m also happy to keep both entities separate but fan theories are part of what makes fandom great and I can definitely see it. The theory that I agree with most is that the ENTIRE second film is the dream and this is BJ’s way, during the wedding scene, of letting us know that none of this is real. Couple of possibilities here:
1) Her waking up at the end with the indented pillow I think could be a nod to something like you suggested where she grew up, never got hitched or had a kid and she’s just been clowning around with BJ the whole time, much of which as a couple, maybe they do even have the ghost house show but it’s a long con they’re running together from both sides lol. Otherwise, why show him in bed with her at all?
2) Could Charles death brought her and the others to the house and allowed BJ to use her dreams to show her the truth about her relationship with Rory and her daughter?
3) I also like the to play with the idea that it isn’t all a dream up to a certain point, and that there’s a time skip between their escape before failed second wedding and when she has the dream about the future only for it to turn into the beetle baby nightmare lol. People can take it at face value to play with that. In that scenario she’d have to wake up and make changes because Rory would still be in the picture, and maybe she can keep Delia from killing herself lol. There’s a lot there to work with.
This is part of the genius of Burton, Gough and Millar tho. I think where fans run into trouble is that some folks cannot accept that it can be interpreted many ways and that all the ways are technically correct. You can take and leave whatever you want. I think a great example of that inability to accept differences is like…
I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I’d say within the last seven years or so, fans have gotten really aggressive about canon actualization and then bringing the disappointment (sometimes in extreme ways) when the creators and writers of a work take the plot and its characters in a direction the disagrees with their head canons and desires for the work. And we get all kinds of weird harassment of writers and actors and shit and just, I’m from an entirely different school of thought.
It’s always been my understanding that transformative works like fanart and fanfiction were where fans went to create the outcomes they desired for their favorite stories and characters. I’ve never understood the need to have a headcanon or canon to become actual canon. I feel like canon has its space and fandom, likewise, has its own space, and if something from fandom actualizes into canon, awesome. But if it doesn’t, then who cares? So all these antis and others who refuse to accept that art is made to be interpreted just seem so silly to me. Which is why I responded to your post originally. So, I apologize for mischaracterizing you.
Apology accepted, and I'm sorry if any of my responses were needlessly harsh. I most definitely have noticed the rise in vitriol. I was here through all of it and was a key player in the Beetlewars. There was a time when you couldn't Google "beetlebabes" without finding antis complaining about me specifically by name on all the big social media platforms. It's made me a bit jaded in my response to others, but at my core I am a person who respects artistic freedom and freedom of fan interpretation.
In fact, I think the whole point of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is that it's a spite film meant to insult fans who take it too literally. I strongly urge all of my haters to please, please take the plot literally lmao. I want them to. Tim wants them to.
The need for "headcanon" to become canon is weak af. As far as I'm concerned, my interpretation is canon because it's derived entirely from canon. I don't need Tim or Winona or any of the legends to validate that for me. This is partially why I'm not a fan of BJ3 begging. It feels greedy to me. I've learned my lesson about asking for more beetlebabes smdh.
The dreamverse is just canon, honestly. It's up to user interpretation where the dream starts and how much of the fantasy is indeed a fantasy, but it makes the most sense to me that the entire plot is hooey. Basically every lifelong babe I know prefers to believe that Lydia spent her life with BJ and I don't see why Winona would be any different. Personally, I think they're in the twisted cuck phase of their marriage.
As a bonus, here's my literal interpretation.
TO THE EDGE - CHAPTER 12.
Rory didn’t like putting them back in the box, but he couldn’t ignore another call from the Solinohs. They probably already had another bounty out—this one on his head.
When the call connected across space there was a crackle of static and then a smooth voice demanding, “Where are you?”
He dropped his shoulders back and stared out the window at space, like he could possibly look across all that distance to this other man. “I have the cargo and I’m heading toward the drop off. Maybe a day off schedule, but you know how things go.”
The quiet was just long enough that he almost checked to make sure the call hadn’t been dropped. “There have been problems?”
Rory shook his head slowly, though a smile was tugging at the corner of his mouth when he thought that Stardust could be categorically described as a fucking problem. “No, no problems I can’t handle, thanks.”
Another pause. Maybe there was a delay? That happened sometimes with the sort of distance they were dealing with. The original bounty hadn’t been a direct call or communication—it had been a message sent out and available to anyone.
“Was there something else?” Rory chanced, wanting to hang up and deal with the primer in the crate behind him.
“Did you see it?” Genesis Solinoh asked.
For the first time since he saw the bounty and set out to retrieve Stardust, Rory felt a hitch of unease in his chest, an instinct that screamed—this was a mistake. Rory had great instincts. He wouldn’t have survived this long without them.
“…Did I see what? What are you talking about?”
Another pause, only now he was certain it wasn’t a delay.
Genesis was choosing his words. Rory had seen this Solinoh on broadcasts and recordings for gossip channels. He was primer royalty and though Rory hadn’t paid a great deal of attention, he was certain he had never seen the man hesitate.
“We’ll be able to meet you sooner than planned,” Genesis said, voice smooth and back to business.
Rory physically jerked a step back. Thank the stars there was no video feed to give that away. What was this guy talking about? “What? What do you mean you can meet sooner? The drop spot is on the edge…” The primers didn’t cross the edge. More specifically, the Solinohs did not cross the edge! It was exactly why they had sent out an open call to any mercenary and bounty hunter to go pick up their kidnapped cousin.
“Where are you now?”
“My coordinates?” Rory clumsily played for time. What was going on? He had Stardust and he was bringing them to the drop off. What more could they want? What reason did they have to venture beyond the map?
He jumped when Stardust thumped the box. They could have screamed and shouted, but they didn’t.
Rory reached out and tapped the control panel.
Call muted.
He exhaled hard, pulse racing. The last time a primer yacht had weighed into their side of space, it had been to destroy everything in sight for that dead kidnappee. Rory had never doubted that something like that, only much worse, would happen if Stardust wasn’t returned—but they were on their way!
“What the fuck…” He spun to the crate and was back to it in only two steps, unlatching and lifting the lid.
“Your family doesn’t come out here. Why would he… What did you do?”
They sat up, staring at him with wide eyes. “He’s going to kill you,” they blurted out like it was the end to a movie and they’d figured it out. “We have to run.”
Rory shook his head. “Why would he kill me? I’m just delivering you.”
They stood up, still staring at him, and he hated how much fear was welling in those eyes. They had been so stubborn and reckless, so wild, but it was all draining from them like blood from their lip earlier. “He thinks you know,” they whispered, voice shaking like something might hear.
Rory grabbed their arm. “He thinks I know what, Stardust?”
Their breath came fast and he imagined could feel their rising pulse in his fingertips on their arm. “If you help me, I’ll help you, I promise. I’ll get you out of this, just hang up. We can run and—”
“Oh, you want to make a deal with me now? I think it’s a little late for negotiation.”
“Bounty hunter,” Genesis all but growled into the call, waiting for those coordinates.
Rory turned toward the speaker, toward that voice that was so clearly a threat. He wanted to scoff or roll his eyes—he wanted to tell that rich boy to fuck right off—but he had seen what those rich kids and their ships could do.
An elbow connected hard with his stomach, doubling him over and knocking the air from his lungs.
From the watery corner of his vision, he saw Stardust jumping out of the crate and making a dash for the hall. “Shit. No, not again, Stardust!”
Their steps were unsteady, probably from being crammed in that crate for the better part of the day, but they practically threw themself forward.
He coughed and stumbled in their direction. “Get back here!”
They rounded a corner. Where the hell were they going? He almost hoped they locked themself in the storage room. It would solve a lot of his problems if he could just barricade them in for a few days and figure this mess out without the threat of being mutinied again.
The ship voice announced, Emergency pod activated.
“Woah! No!” Rory ran those last steps around the corner, catching them at the escape pod, the panel open and their fingers flipping switches. He hooked an arm around them and lifted them off their feet, turning to get them away from the controls. The pod was lit up and in some stage a preparation. He’d honestly never seen it do that before, since he’d never used it.
They screamed and kicked, trying to elbow him again but only jabbing at his arm, unable to get the angle and reach with their wrists bound together. He flipped down the switches and closed the plastic covering on the panel.
Emergency pod deactivated.
“Stop kicking! Stop. Just settle down,” he yelled.
They didn’t, but he could tell they weren’t trying to hurt him either. They were trying to get away. They screamed—really screamed—and he realized it was the first time he’d heard it. He’d seen them kidnapped twice, busted up and terrorized by this side of space, but he’d never seen them this upset. He’d barely seen them cry.
They kicked and arched, but he couldn’t let them go. They’d been ready to jump into an escape pod. His back hit the wall but he held on.
“If you don’t answer me,” Genesis warned, voice broadcast throughout the halls.
“Ship, drop the call.”
Call dropped.
They screamed again, this time behind clenched teeth, their whole body shaking in his arms like they were trying so hard to stop their own fit of panic.
He slid down the wall, until they were both on the floor, his legs sprawled and the primer planted between them, their back to his chest. “Stardust…” he rasped. He really could feel their pulse through their skin now. “What is this about?”
They dropped their head forward, hair in their face. “Let me go,” they said and he knew they didn’t mean his arms around them. A tendril of ink from that tattoo on their back peeked up from the collar of their shirt, reaching for their spine before fading away again. “Just let me go.”
“No, I’m not letting you go.” He was sure about that. “You just elbowed me and tried to jump into an escape pod with your hands still cuffed. Your plans are getting worse by the hour… At this rate, you really are going to throw yourself into open space.” He spoke slowly, giving them time to breathe. “…But…That begs the question why. You’re obviously scared.”
“I’m not,” they said automatically, voice low and another deep breath shuddering out of them.
Rory laughed darkly. “Yes, you are.”
They shook their head, swallowing. “I’m not scared.”
“Yes, you—” he stopped and closed his eyes, teeth clicking before he said, “Stardust, please, don’t start this again… I’ve got my arms around you. I can feel your pulse racing.”
His bounty didn’t rebut.
“I’m starting to get the idea that your cousin isn’t going to pay up if I deliver you,” he thought aloud.
They sighed. “No. He’s not. Tansy might have but not Gen.”
Rory took a breath himself, letting that sink in. The last place he wanted to be was on the wrong side of the Solinohs. “Okay… So, you’re in deep and you really were trying to save me?”
They twisted to the side to look back at him. “Of course.”
“Huh…”
“I’m not lying—”
He shook his head, that wasn’t what he meant. “No, it’s just that you’re really bad at crime. Which is weird because you’re from the most notorious crime family in the galaxy. You’d think you’d be good at this.”
Stardust blinked and then coughed up a laugh before they could help it. “Yeah. I guess I am… I’ve been kidnapped three times in the last week.”
Rory laughed too and then sighed. “I should have just left you with the mercs.” It was true, but there was no version of the universe where he would have done it. “I should have reset my ship controls and hightailed it out of there. You are a magnet for trouble.”
Stardust exhaled, leaning back against his chest and staring up at the escape pod. “If I’m trouble then—”
“What does that make me?” he finished their question, looking at them in his arms. His smile dropped because he knew exactly what this made him. “It makes me trouble, Stardust. And I’m not letting you get away until I get paid.” There was no way he’d let them jump into space to save anyone, let alone him, and there was no way he could hand them over to Genesis Solinoh either.
Key differences between the Hellraiser book and movie!
So I’ve probably mentioned this before, but I’ve read the original novel the Hellraiser film was based on, and it has a lot of key differences from the film. It’s not that the film was supposed to be upgrading the original story, just telling a slightly different one but both are written by Clive Barker so it’s not like the film purposefully changed things due to different staff, anyways to the list.
In the film, Kirsty is the teenage daughter of Larry Cotton, and the stepdaughter of Julia, though she isn’t that close to her due to them being wed after Kirsty was already grown. In the novel, Kirsty is the same age as Rory (Larry’s original name) and is not related to him, or Julia. In the original story, it’s shown she had a crush on Rory, hence her close relationship with him, but she never shoots her shot because he married Julia, who she also isn’t close with, in the novel.
In the novel, the Cenobites are more morally good than in the film. In the film's opening, once Frank opens the Lament Configuration, he is instantly torn apart and dragged to Hell, with the Cenobites being very willing to take Kirsty as well. In the novel, when Frank uses the Lemarchand Box (another name change) the Cenobites appear before him and talk with him, asking repeatedly if he consents and explaining vaguely that he’s not going to get what he thinks. Only after he consents do they begin to torture him. In the film, after Kirsty gives Frank to the Cenobites, they betray her and go after her, in the novel they tell her to leave when they go after Frank, and they never pursue her after Frank’s taken, not going back on their deal.
The film ends with the Eremite grabbing the Lament Configuration and preparing to sell it to a new victim, however, the book ends differently. In the book, he doesn’t appear until the very last scene, where he gives Kirsty the box and she comes to the conclusion that she is now the keeper of the box, and takes this role wearily. Whether this implies Kirsty herself became an Eremite or she’s just supposed to protect the box from curious fingers, it’s up to your interpretation.
Speaking of the Eremite, his lack of appearance in the novel means the film and novel start with different contexts. In the film, the Eremite sold the box to Frank, designed as a trick which he falls for, making him out to be a rather villainous figure. In the novel, Frank heard of the box through word of mouth and presumed the box brought pleasure, which was half true. Then he specifically sought out the box and was told exactly what would happen. So the film starts with Frank having no clue what awaits him and being killed for it, whilst the novel starts with Frank having literally set up a shrine for the Cenobite's arrival. That said, the Eremite does appear briefly at the end of the book, though in the novel he is implied to be the Engineer.
In the movie the Lament Configuration is a puzzle box with golden designs etched into it, making it rather regal-looking and not too hard to solve. In the novel, Lemarchand’s Box was pitch black and in its default form it had no shadow or light reflections, and thus you couldn’t really see anything on it to help with solving it. When she completes the first step to open it, she sees weird reflections on the box’s face, showing presumably lost souls, Kirsty recognises Julia and Frank's faces, but notes she can't find Rory's. The novel box was so hard to solve that it took hours for both Kirsty and Frank to solve it.
The Cenobites were described differently than they appear in the film. In the film, there was Hell Preist, with the pins in his head, Deep Throat, with the fucked-up throat, Butterball, the fat one, and Chatterer, the one with the weird teeth. (Also the Engineer but he’s not that important.) In the novel, only really two of them are described, with it being rather vague. There’s one with jewelled pins in their head, and bells in their neck that sound like Church bells when they approach, which is obviously the novel version of Pinhead. There’s also a female Cenobite who, like all the other Cenobites, appears androgynous and sexless, however, she can be recognised as a female because she opens her coat to reveal her p_ssy. She’s essentially the original Deep Throat. Butterball and Chatterer could very well be here, but the other Cenobites are described only as sexless, androgynous, things with disfigured flesh strewn about and fixed as oddly fashionable. This means if you want an accurate depiction of the book Cenobites, the 2022 film designs are the most accurate. In the film it was obvious Pinhead was a male, along with Butterball and Chatterer whilst Deep Throat was female, which is another difference since again, the novel had them all be genderless, except for the female one.
Since Kirsty is not related to Larry/Rory, she also isn’t related to Frank. In the film, she recognises him as her sleazy Uncle, and it’s implied he might’ve been predatory towards her, but in the novel she barely knew him but was always attracted to his brother Rory. The line "Come to Daddy" is said in both, but the context is again, different. In the film, Frank said it to trick Kirsty into thinking he was her dad, Larry, but in the novel, since they have no relation, he was just being a creep.
In the film when Kirsty escapes Frank and Julia, she wakes up in the hospital and after solving the box she walks into Hell and is tormented by the Cenobites. In the book, she also wakes up in the hospital, but after solving the box, one of the Cenobites (I believe it was Pinhead) appears before her, and she strikes the trade, with it being calmer than in the film scene. Also, it is shown that only she can see the Cenobite, as a staff member enters and doesn’t see the Cenobite, which implies only people who solved the box can see Cenobites, meaning Julia never saw them.
Back to that Cenobite I failed to discuss earlier, the Engineer is rather different in both stories. In the film, it’s a weird, grotesque monster thing, which appears very briefly but in the novel it appears in a wedding dress and veil, which Kirsty mistakes for Julia’s corpse, implying it looks humanoid, however when it unveils it is shown to be a blinding light, so it's true form is unknown. It’s also implied that the Eremite who appears in the novel's last scene is actually the Engineer, which is very possible.
A small one is the novel takes place in England whilst the film is set in America. This was mostly done to boost sales, though they went even further as to dub over some of the British accents.
In the film, Kirsty has a boyfriend who assists her, though he’s a very one-dimensional character and not very memorable. He’s just kinda… there. In the novel, he doesn’t exist because half of Kirsty’s character is that she had a crush on Rory.
The movie got a load of sequels, most being shitty slasher flicks, with only like… 3 of them being decent. The direct sequel, Hellbound: Hellraiser 2 is a direct follow-up to the film, continuing Kirsty and Pinhead’s story and not being based on an existing novel. In 2015, however, a sequel to the original novel was released, nothing like the films before. The basic gist of the sequel novel is that Pinhead wants power and becomes like, a horrible villain more akin to fucking Thanos than to movie Pinhead, but is stopped by another Clive Barker character, a detective named Harry D’Amour. Honestly, the book (titled The Scarlet Gospels) doesn’t sound the best, it gets super religious and I mean SUPER religious, but hey, whatever, it’s unique I guess.
Saw Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and honestly it wasn't as good as I thought it would be, but it was still a fun time. The casting was great imo, it was a very campy movie and they all played it well. Michael Keaton was fucking great and the most appalling looking Beetlejuice I've ever fucking seen (a compliment sgdgdgdggd). The very very end right before the credits roll killed me agdgdgdggdgd like that alone made it for me idk why
I'm suprised that they used the 1 allowed "fuck" where they did (which made me laugh so fucking hard) and then had ANOTHER fuck in the script later but that one was like half censored. Idk very minor critique but I think they could have either chosen a different word entirely for the second one OR made it rated R and have him dropping Fucks everywhere I think that would've been wild. Might have cheapened the one time they DO say fuck though bc it wouldnt come as a shock. But it would be funny imo if it was an R rated movie sgdgdggdgd
Danny Devito is in it and you just see the back of his head at first and I KNEW it was him before he even spoke I was like "I know that balding head anywhere!"
Anyway 3.7/5 I'll explain why under the cut. I say if you're looking for a camp movie to see as a matinee you'd probably like it but it's very... gross agdddgdg which is the brand but still
I really think they should have done more with the Jeremy plot tbh, it makes me wonder if they had more and cut it for time. Idk it just seems like the abrupt sending him to hell was a little "huh... okay..." but the line where he says "see you fucker" fucking killed me I wasn't expecting that
I'm glad lydia didn't marry Rory bc he seemed like they didn't mesh right even before the reveal.
Delores was so pretty and the scene where she's reattaching herself was cool. Felt like again they could've done more with her.
The part I'm talking ab before the credits is there's an "in memoriam: BOB" which made me laugh and go aww poor BOB :( wgsggdgdgd he was easily the best part
The Soul Train bit was really funny
It kinda dragged the first bit out too long imo. I think that's why I didn't like it as much as I thought I would.
The kids choir Day-o was funny, as was Danny Devito listening to Margaritaville sgdgdgdggd
Anyway it was fun, the casting seemed great, very camp, fun matinee
Shane Carver Hcs even tho no one cares about the movie other than me 🥲
•Very mentally ill. I feel like he has a long list of mental illnesses but the first ones that comes to mind are bpd and some kinda form of schizophrenia. (I would love to hear anyone else’s opinion on that tho) His intense alcohol & dr*g usage does not help with this in the slightest lol
He also has trauma due to his brother passing and his abusive father. He also has real bad abandonment issues. Forming the cult/black circle boys gave him this HUGE ego boost and a feeling of being wanted. It’s one of the reasons why he’s so intense about people not leaving the group (along side him just wanting to serve Satan as best as he can.. and one of his members leaving is basically saying he failed him so..)
•It’s already canon pretty much but he loves Kyle so fucking much. I think it scares Shane even with how much he loves him. Like once Kyle began to break the cults rules, Shane knew something was definitely ‘wrong’ when he didn’t feel much of anything other than disappointment. Like yeah he did keep saying if he leaves, he was gonna have to die basically but (MAJOR SPOILER): he couldn’t even bring himself to kill him in the end. He was struggling so much over his love for him, his pain of being betrayed, Satan being displeased with him, and trying to tell himself he has to make Kyle follow the ‘brotherhoods rules’ and what ever else which led to Kyle ultimately over powering him.
•Before the actual 100% believing in and worshipping Satan stuff, he genuinely just wanted to be in a cool metal band growing up. Due to his living situation however, he was never able to get a guitar until much later or was never able to take classes for it.
•He hates Kyles girlfriends(?) guts so much. He can’t bring himself to actually do much other than just to yell at her since she isn’t in the cult and he probably didn’t wanna piss Kyle off so early on.
They seemed to be on okay-ish terms until she got all seriously flirty with Kyle. It wouldn’t have surprised me if he banned her from coming to any more of their ‘parties’
•He’s always a little shit but it’s even worse when he’s able to get Kyle to leave his gf behind to hang out with him instead. This loser will literally do this face: 😋 at her before he puts a hand on Kyle’s back as they walk away together. He loves seeing her get pissy over Kyle not leaving him even tho she keeps warning him.
•HE DYES HIS HAIR BLACK EVERYONE!! 🗣️ He would never let Kyle help him dye it until they start dating tho.. he’s too embarrassed to let anyone know his actual hair color.
•He would have only ever genuinely tried to get better if he’d gotten with Kyle. I think Kyle would have made him agree to a couple things before they start dating. Like Shane can’t be unnecessarily cruel to Rory and people who genuinely did nothing to them. (Sometimes he lets it slide if it’s Shane being mean to strangers because eh. It’s Shane and that’s just him but he’s worried about Shane’s safety and just doesn’t see the point in fucking around with innocent people)
Shane obviously wouldn’t be perfect tho.. and wouldn’t try to start seeing a therapist or get on meds until much later on. I think the only thing that would make Shane actually see the point in changing how he is, is if Kyle stayed with him thru all his fuck ups bc that means Kyle does see something in him.. a glimmer of hope. Otherwise Kyle would have gave up real early on.
•Shane has no interest in ladies at all. He only called Kyles gf a ‘babe’ early on because he just wanted to come off as one of the boys 🦅
•I think Shane would have gave Kyle a lot of his old clothes or lets him borrow them. Like I’m sure Kyle had bits and pieces of those goth outfits he wore real early on but I think once Shane saw he was dressing more alternatively, he offered him some old stuff he doesn’t wear anymore. Like probably specifically his old, more masculine clothes.
•If they were dating… bro sneaks into Kyle’s room from that window above his bed almost every night. (Kyle leaves it unlocked specifically for him) Shane especially loves the nights where both of Kyle’s parents are out because he’s able to convince Kyle to turn on some metal as loud as his cd player can go and mosh around his bedroom with him.
When they aren’t in the mood to do all that, and maybe Kyle just needs a place to chill or calm down, Shane will just lay next to Kyle on his bed and not talk.. he likes those peaceful moments where Kyle is spooning him or playing with his hair while he’s zoned out more than he will admit..
•If he gave a shit about people knowing he’s gay (I can’t decide if either of them would care or not) I wanna see Rory accidentally walk in on the two kissing or something and be like “Oh! People were right about you two :3 it’s okay! I support! My cousin on my moms side has two dads-” and Shane just cuts him off by telling him if he says anything about what he just saw, he’s getting kicked out of the cult 💀 He’d also be pissed if he heard ppl spreading a rumor about them being together too… BUT I do like the idea that neither of them would care. They have each other so it doesn’t matter.
•CRINGE WARNING. One of their teachers calls Shane, Froggie (I’m pretty sure at least. I had no subtitles but it makes sense if u have seen the movie 🥲) AND I LOVE THINKING ABOUT Kyle calling him that to mess with him. Shane is already mad his name isn’t some edgy ass demon name so Froggie pisses him off…..Not really. He likes it only from Kyle.
•If Kyle would let him, he’d definitely paint his nails for him. Shane’s heart is beating out of his chest bc he’s holding Kyles hand but he’ll act ‘cool’ as usual
•He loves watching Kyle swim. He has to keep telling him to join the schools swim team tho because he knows it will piss Kyle off. It’s worth getting splashed & his makeup messing up to see Kyle reaction.
•I think Kyle’s mom would like Shane tbh.. if he acted how he does when it’s just him and Kyle anyways. I can see him being really polite to her. It takes everything in him not to attack Kyle’s dad tho. Like he’s heard how Kyle doesn’t like him much already but when he sees and hears how he treats him while he’s over even.. he’s gripping the knife they gave him at the dinner table so hard.
Oh yeah Kyle hates Shane’s dad too!!!
•K + S, in a heart shape, is carved into one of the trees at the cults meet up spot.
•While I’m not sure if I hc Shane having ocd.. he can get kinda real serious about other people not messing up his stuff & he tried to land the dates for cult meetings on specific days, at specific times for one specific reason or another.
•Shane’s ‘inspo’ for the cults symbol was that he already had that carved into his shoulder before he even started the cult. He gave it to himself with a razor during an episode. And since he has abandonment issues, he thought what better way to always be connected to someone than a matching scar in the same exact place.
Okay, so not to be a hater, but I just need to go on a little rant.
I’ve been rewatching Gilmore Girls (shocking, I know!) and every time I rewatch this show, the more irritated I become with Lorelai. So much of her parenting is a red flag to me. I’m only on 2.16, but I have a list so here it is:
Inviting Dean to their movie night once she finds out that Rory and Dean kissed. I’m sorry, but WHAT? This is a perfect example of Lorelai not being able to maintain the balance of mother/friend. She seems to forget here that she is, in fact, Rory’s mom and not simply her best friend, so she crosses a major boundary. In what world would a daughter want to have her first date with the guy she likes... with her mom there? Lorelai was really struggling and upset that Rory didn’t tell her about the kiss, so she completely overcompensates here. She’s trying so hard to act like she’s okay with it that she behaves in such a bizarre and erratic way.
Completely freaking out on Rory for staying out all night. I know this situation was majorly heightened because Emily happened to be there, but there’s no excuse for Lorelai’s reaction. She just automatically makes the assumption that because Rory was out all night that she must have been having sex. As Rory points out to her, she should know her better than that. Saying she’s going on the pill etc! Lorelai continues to stigmatize sex here. I know that she was worried, any mother would be if her child didn’t come home. But she spent most of the time lecturing Rory about sex.
Getting mad at Rory for asking Emily for help with their termite issue. Yes, Lorelai should be able to figure things out on her own, but once again, the lines between mother/friend are blurred here. She says to Rory that she is the parent and she needs to be the one taking charge and making the calls, but can we blame Rory for forgetting that they aren’t equals? Especially when Lorelai is being so immature about this. Like, she’s too proud to ask her parents for help? Most people would kill to be as privileged as Lorelai in this situation. A lot of people can’t turn to their parents when they need help. It’s just frustrating when Lorelai acts like she’s poor sometimes/etc when like girl you are not lol.
The whole basket thing with Jess. Her siding with Dean simply because she doesn’t like Jess. This woman is so petty I can’t lol. There’s nothing wrong with Rory keeping her word, and she’s also allowed to have other friends. She got pizza and went to the bookstore with Jess? Alert the police!!!
This is less about parenting and more about Lorelai just being... completely embarrassing so I’m not adding it to the list. But Lorelai is quite literally beefing and fighting with a teenager, aka Jess. I will never get over how pathetic and weird she is about him. She just yelled at him and said that Rory is “madly in love with Dean” I’m sorry but WHO talks about their 16-year-old daughter’s relationship like this?? It’s fucking weird!!!
Not to mention she never even gave Jess a fair chance. He called her out on her feelings on Luke (in a crass way, but come on... he’s 17 lol) and she blows up on him? She basically has a temper tantrum and this tantrum has yet to end. Not to mention she’s pretty patronizing to Luke about how he’s handling Jess when at least he talks to Jess and doesn’t bicker with him 24/7??? It’s just so weird and the fact that she never, ever treats Jess fairly. Even in “A Year in the Life” she’s still super fucking petty like this woman is a child I’m sorry.
I love her but she is a whiny baby and not a good mother... It’s crazy because growing up I wished I could be close to my mom like Rory is... But actually their dynamic is not only unrealistic (we all knew this already ofc) but also just not good for Rory at all???
Ok rant over sorry y’all jsdgsdg
Young Loves
1.2 Second Chance At First Line
Teen Wolf x Aurora Young (oc)
A/N: this part is going to be way shorter because Aurora just didn't seem to fit in until the end of the episode
Finishing up my make-up test, I start making my way down to the boy's locker room. Practice should be over, which means my ride will be somewhere in that smelly room.
I'm not far away when I hear someone shout, "Get away from me!" But- wait, I know that voice. Scott? Wtf?!
As I start running to get to the room, growling erupts. Oh fuck no
I round the corner and almost come face-first with a fire extinguisher. Stiles is panting just as much as I am, as I breathe out, "What in the actual hell was that?"
His face crumbles with fear, stuttering out, "No, Rory, stay here, please god just stay here." While saying this he manages to start pushing me back from the room, panic etched in every motion his body makes.
"Stiles..." Scott groans out, gaining our attention once again.
The aforementioned boy looks at me and mouths "Stay" before he turns to peek into the room. Once I see his shoulders sag in relief, I come up behind him, hovering over his back. As we make our way into the room, I see Scott hunched over himself on a bench. "What happened?" he questions, not meeting our eyes.
Stiles drops the makeshift weapon and hisses, "What happened? What happened was that you literally almost ripped me to shreds. Alright, dude, that's what just happened."
He continues while pacing around the area, "It's exactly what I told you. The anger- your pulse rising. That's the trigger."
Lacrosse is the wrong game for Scott then, and he quickly realizes it. Saying what Stiles feels too guilty to say, I add, "Scott, you can't play Saturday."
"Rory, I just made the first line"
Stiles finishes, "Not anymore"
****
I open my door to see Stiles rocking on his heels, waiting to be let in. I decided that we needed to hang out without Scott, so we could talk about our new furry problem.
Once we get settled in my room, Stiles breaks the silence, "Do you think he'll actually listen to us?"
"For missing Saturday's game?" I question, "No way. He wants to impress Allison."
"My dad might be coming. What if Scott goes ballistic? How am I supposed to explain that my best friend has turned into a cliche movie trope?"
"You could ask him to quit."
"Ha ha, real funny Rory."
"Or, you could tell him Scott's on drugs. That's probably what his mom is thinking anyway."
"I wish Scott was on drugs," Stiles pauses, seeing the confused smirk plastered on my face, "no, not like that. Just that if he was on drugs I would know how to help him. I've never met a werewolf, so I don't know what I'm doing."
"That's fair. Plus you are more likely to die like this, than if he was on drugs."
"God, you are really not helping my anxiety right now Aurora." Damn, not the full name.
I start to apologize but get interrupted by my phone ringing. Allison is calling. Looking to Stiles, I flash my phone screen at him, before answering the call. The girl launches into the latest gossip, which of course I already knew about. How Scott separated Jackson's shoulder during practice, and now he has to play on Saturday. I give Stiles a pity smile, as he helps me up, getting ready to meet Allison. So much for our hangout. I could have declined her, but the tense energy in the room with Stiles was getting to be a bit much. It was clear I was pissing him off, so I figured it would be better to leave him be. Let him sort out his thoughts and come to me later with them.
****
"Tell us what they're saying!" Stiles demands, using Scott's new hearing to our advantage. His dad, and a few others a standing just out of ear shot, and Stiles is eager to be a fly on the wall.
"Curfew because of the body."
Stiles is pissed, "Unbelievable. The dick who actually killed her is roaming around, exerting his free will. While my dad is trying to catch a make-believe rabid animal."
"What if Derek didn't kill her?" I question, which gives me two incredulous looks. "Hear me out, he probably didn't kill her himself. But what if he knows who or what killed her. For all we know it really was a rabid animal."
Scott completely disregards my words, "You can't exactly tell your dad about Derek."
"Well I can do something," oh awesome, they both are going to ignore me, "I'm gonna find the other half of the body." Huh?
****
The rest of my day goes smoother than my two idiot friends. I leave them alone for half a day and when we meet up again, at the freaking Hale house, I hear all about their adventures.
Apparently, Scott found the other half before Stiles could, hence our current location. But just to double-check, they went down to the morgue to sniff the first half. Gross. Then, Scott found bite marks on the legs of the corpse. Double gross.
"Wait- somethings different," Scott says, making my anxiety spike just a little. But he counters his statement by saying, "Whatever, let's just get this over with."
****
It's almost an hour later, when we finally find something in the hole we've been digging. It's something in a sack, that's been tied securely by like a thousand knots.
Being the only one with nails, I begin untying them. Once I get enough leeway, I unveil what I can- then promptly scream my lungs out.
Stiles and Scott are quick to grasp my shoulders and haul me up and out of the hole. We all land on the ground and look to each other for confirmation of what is below us. "What the hell is that?!" I yelp out, my heart bursting.
"A wolf" both boys huff out.
"Yeah, I can fucking see that. But you," I say pointing to Scott, "said you smelled blood. I thought you meant human blood not a fucking severed wolf's head's blood!" My hands are shaking as I accuse him. He doesn't meet my eyes but grasps my hands in his to stop the shaking.
"I said something was different."
Stiles just rolls his eyes at his friend's statement. "We got to get out of here."
Both boys jump into action, as I sit the re-burial out, still trying to slow my racing heart. Looking around, I notice a singular flower in bloom amongst the dirt. Not having it, I call out Stiles' name, and he gives me his attention. I just point at the flower, and he gets the hint, climbing out of the hole and over to where my finger pointed.
"Wolfsbane." That is all he says, which doesn't sound too good for Scott. He starts grasping at the root of the flower, but unveils a rope attached to it. Stiles continues to pull it from the ground, walking around in a circle a few times.
"Guys," Scott breaks our trance. I look at him, then to where his eyes have landed, and shriek again. Stiles is crowded against my back in an instant, dropping the flower/rope combination.
What was once a wolf's head has not become a girl's head.
A human girl's head.
A dead, severed human girl's head, that is missing her lower half.
****
Huddled up against Stiles' jeep, we watch Derek being led away in handcuffs. He looks at us, and I can't help by notice he looks almost disappointed. Not guilty or surprised at being caught, just sad.
I don't ponder it for too long because Stiles wraps a hand around my wrist and starts to drag me away, to the cop car. Where Derek was just put into. Great.
I try firmly planting my feet into the ground, muttering no's under my breath. But to no avail, as he just tugs me further. He opens the door and waits for me to climb in.
Noticing my pleading eyes he says, "Rory, let's just talk to him. Just for a few minutes." He gives me his own pleading eyes, and I cave, sliding into the passenger seat. He walks around the car and gets into the driver's side.
"Just so you know, we aren't afraid of you." WE?! Excuse me but I am deeply afraid of him.
Stiles looks to me, so I can back him up, but I just cower away from his gaze. I see Derek's eyebrow raised mockingly.
"Fine. I just want to know one thing. That girl you killed," Stiles jabs his finger at Derek, "she was a werewolf. But she was different, right? Because she could turn into an actual wolf."
Catching onto his theory, I finally raise my voice, "Is that why you killed her?"
Derek answers back, "Why are you so worried about me, when it's your friend back there you should be worried about? What happens when he turns at that game? Rory," holy fuck he knows my name, "what happens when you're the next body found?"
Stiles head almost pops off his shoulders, but his dad stops anything from happening. He yanks his son from the vehicle, and gives me a stern look, making me stumble out of the car.
Not wanting to be privy to another scolding, I move to stand next to Scott. Noticing my shaken-up state he asks what happened in the car.
"Scott, you can't play in the game." is all I say.
"Aurora," he tries again, "What did Derek say to you in that car?"
Looking up in his eyes, I say, "What if the next body that's found is mine?" I feel tears spring to my waterline.
Scott's face crumbles and I've never seen him sadder. "Rory," he starts softly, placing his hands atop my shoulders, rubbing his thumbs back and forth in soothing circles, "That won't happen. That won't ever happen. Alright, I guarantee it."
All I can do is just nod my head, trying to hid my oncoming sniffles. He pulls me into his chest, cradling the back of my head.
This is getting too real.
****
Of course, our warnings aren't headed, which is why I am currently sat in Allison's car, driving to the game. Where Scott will in fact be playing.
To make matters worse, her freaking dad is coming with us. Her big bad werewolf-hunting dad. Scott is soooo fucked.
****
"God Scott, come on- you can do this," I say under my breath. We are so close to winning, even I can taste it. Scott just has to make this shot.
After I say it, Scott looks up at my position in the crowd- right, werewolf hearing. Duh- cause that's just a normal part of my life now. Then he looks right next to me, where his crush and her friend are holding a sign that says, "Jackson is #1". I refused to help them, reminding my redheaded friend that I liked Scott a hell of a lot better than Jackson.
Scott shoots.... and makes it!!!!! GOALLLLL!!!
Everyone bursts into cheers and I spot Stiles jumping up and down like an idiot in excitement.
I start making my way down to said idiot, eager to be in his presence, and congratulate Scott. But when I arrive, Scott is nowhere to be found on the field.
It's like Stiles and I share a brain, as we both stalk off to the locker rooms. It's the only other place Scott would be.
We walk in and Stiles round the corner first, before abruptly turning around and pushing me against the wall. "Stiles, what the fuck?" I whisper, worried that Scott's having another freakout. But Stiles just puts a finger to his lips, and motions for me to look where we just looked.
I peek around the corner and my heart sinks just a little. Allison and Scott are making out and I feel like the world's worst friend. I must have been watching for too long because Stiles gently pulls me back. He makes a face, sticking out his tongue in mock disgust. I mirror him, careful to hide my fragile heart.
I see Allison pass by us, and I almost think we're in the clear before she greets us. Stiles and I give her sheepish waves, and she just laughs.
"Come on Rory, my dad probably thinks we're making out in here instead of Scott and me," and then she adds, "And maybe Stiles and you?"
I push Stiles off me and wrap myself around her awaiting arm, "As if" is all I say.
final destination characters and what movie/tv shows i think they would like
alex - the walking dead. has seen every single episode even though it’s been running for over a decade. says he could probably survive a zombie apocalypse. is the biggest glenn defender ever.
tod - community. 100%. when the movie got announced he went apeshit on twitter. he loves troy, has seen every episode at least twice, and actually liked the fourth season for some reason.
george - he doesn’t watch tv unless it’s like a sport. look at him. if he had to pick, brooklyn 99.
clear - shameless. she sat through all eleven seasons, would have watch parties with her friends, and liked to take notes on the psyche of the characters. she HATED frank with a passion and loved fiona. actually cried at both finales.
billy - my babysitters a vampire. claims it was his “childhood” and is still upset they ended it on a cliffhanger. rory def rubbed off on him growing up. he prefers the first season to the second but has seen each episode like a million times. will sing the theme song totally unprompted
carter - breaking bad. actually tried making meth cause he thought walter had the “right idea” with the money. is the kind of guy to retweet sigma male edits of the characters
terry - locke and key. watched it cause she thought the main villain was hot, and when he was a girl too she went crazy on twitter. live tweeted the second season, and will defend kinsey locke to no extent.
kimberly - first kill. clear or shania told her to watch it saying it was like a better version of twilight. (she loves twilight). she was on the front lines trying to keep the show from getting canceled. she has probably made an edit of caliette. she’s crazy like that.
rory - he also likes breaking bad, but he’s more into better call saul. saul goodman is HIM. literally so relatable and babygirl. he saw better call saul first, so when he showed up in s2 of brba he went APESHIT
eugene - abbott elementary because there is “finally” a REAL show about what it’s like to be a teacher. he also never gets into sitcoms so it was a shock for him that he liked it so much
nora - bones. she LOVES crime dramas on daytime television, and bones is no exception. she finds herself trying to figure out the twist every single episode. she also gets way too into the characters. (tim was explaining to her that bones was autistic coded and she went :o)
tim - kid LOOKS like henry danger, but i’m gonna say malcom in the middle. secretly wished for a big family growing up. alex told him that the father makes meth and since tim didn’t know about brba he was actively seeking out that plot line.
evan - literally anything with wrestling.
kat - the office. not in like, a “basic” way or anything but because she is a businesswoman and needs to feel included. she likes pam a lot. wanted dwight to die once. she got through about eight seasons before calling it quits.
wendy - i feel like she’s a house md fan??? idk why or how but it just makes sense to me i suppose. probably an rsl fan or something
kevin - okay unpopular opinion but i feel like he’s a huge fan of the will forte era on snl. he’s a will forte fan in general so he’s probably seen clone high, last man on earth and macgruber
ian - def a santa clarita diet fan. trust me when i say this man was having meltdowns on twitter when it got canceled. you have never seen him more passionate in his life!
erin - okay this is very unpopular and very out of character but she has a guilty pleasure show and that is dawsons creek. joey is her fave and she is Completely Normal about pacey + joey. her regular show is yellowjackets, however. god bless cannibalistic high schoolers
Okay huge spoilers for beetlejuice beetlejuice
When it finished I was like “yeah pretty mediocre I probably wouldn’t watch it again” but when I kept thinking it was just….. what was the point????
I see on here people really liking it and of course that is okay maybe I’m thinking about it too hard but I just couldn’t enjoy it unfortunately.
Dolores was just a waste and anything tied to her was as well, even though I liked Willem Dafoe and Danny Davitos characters, in the end neither served a purpose. Like yeah her intro was cool but she made no impact on me or the plot. Honestly take her and everything she affected out of it and you would lose nothing. Even beetlejuice didn’t feel affected when she turned up. And she just… dies…. that’s it… no fight no real confrontation nothing she appears at a wedding, which also didn’t have a purpose other then setting up a DIFFERENT wedding, to just kill Dolores just immediately. She was a nothing character.
Plus genuinely who asked for a beetlejuice backstory???? Like vague hints and jokes are fine but I thought part of his charm was he was an off putting guy who did what he did because he thought it was fun and because he was selfish and no one knew fucking why??? Adding Dolores removes that when the movie would have worked better if it just kept that motivation from the 1st movie, him just wanting to become mortal so he has to marry Lydia. Also he felt weaker??? Like he turned himself into a carnival and a snake hybrid (which actually appeared in a nightmare I had recently which really scared me so it to me was actually really scary even if it was never planned to be) and turned everyone into basically a game shows contenders. He controlled the situation but I didn’t feel that over powering presence that he once had. Plus the singing??? Like what??? That’s the Maitlands thing, not his, that was THEIR scare. A scare made by people from a suburban and privileged life not a man who’s been dead for hundreds of years who’s murdered people and (originally hinted) as someone who lived through the plague??? And that scene just draggggggeeeddd like I get it it’s a callback to the original. I was hoping he would do a full musical number, it would still be a callback to the original but expands on it and just shows how much more powerfu he actually isl. He was obviously the best part and I was really worried they’d turn him into a hero but they didn’t and I’m very happy with that, he still did what he did for his own selfish desires.
Lydia also felt wrong, she wasn’t the strange and unusual goth girl, she felt like Joyce Byers, paranoid and scared. And Delia was dramatic but not this dramatic like come on. Astrid I felt nothing for, I felt like they should’ve done what the did in the musical and have it so she never finds her dad but appreciates who she has in her life and accepts that he’s gone. Rory I felt they pulled a twist out of him for whatever reason, he did seem like a well meaning guy who just could never read the room.
Also I thought the point of the afterlife was that that’s all anyone gets??? Why does every other afterlife exist too??? They just ruins what made the original interesting cause all they had was this boring realm that no one wanted to be in but couldn’t leave so they tried to make the best out of it. And also when we did see the original it felt lifeless but not in the fun way it just felt like there was no creativity just EXPAND ON WHAT YOU HAD
(This next paragraph talks about suicide so just skip to the next one if that is upsetting which is completely understandable, the point of this one is the musical looked at the original film and delved into details to add more to different characters and the world)
Like the musical had that pageant queen (who didn’t show up in this?? Like that wasn’t the same person???) and it genuinely seemed like they said “She was a pageant queen but she killed herself and now works a crap job for forever, that must suck and she and most other dead souls regret what they did, wether it was personal or accidental, which caused them to die” and made a whole song out of it and gave her so much character.
So just why didn’t they do it here??? Why didn’t they look at what they were given and made more out of it. The soul train just contradicted what was in the original.
Plus I just didn’t think it was very funny, buts that just my personal opinion.
I thought the designs for the dead were great and the “memorial to bob” was pretty funny but overall I just didn’t like it. 3/10.
