I think the next final destination movie should reveal that Alex Browning faked his death and has spent however many years since the first movie hanging around places with sketchy infrastructure waiting for a disaster to happen. When the moment happens, he saves as many people as he can to widen the list until death circles back to him.
Then cue the montage that shows that Alex had been in the background of every other movie’s opening disaster.
