imagine kevin came back with the foxes instead of staying in west virginia after riko died and he's looking around their dorm room in despair after he sees the damage that jean's rage induced grief inflicted. he's helping clean up & goes to throw stuff in the trash when he see's a pile of andrew's candy bars in there. it's so ridiculous & such a jean thing to do that he actually laughs and suddenly he misses his first and longest best friend so much that he feels sick with it

the trojans social media au (pt. 7): i wanted to make a silly part and then i found that pic of 90s damon albarn and it looked like it could be from a podcast so i really wanted to include it and suddenly i was writing the most heartwarming team moment???

Kevin watching Jean ask Jeremy if he's okay, watching Jean offer to hold Laila's bag so she can fix her shoe, watching Jean hand Cat a granola bar before a game because she looked a little unsteady. He's not jealous, he had his time by Jean's side. Maybe it's grief. Grief for something that was never so innocent, never so untouched by cruel hands, something that could've been better if they were anyone else. Grief for something that's long passed and can never be fixed to be made better than before. He had his time at the receiving end of Jean's concerned glances. Maybe he's just a little sad that when he's at an away game, he no longer buys post cards for a friend. Maybe he just misses this person who used to always be by his side but they both knows it's better this way. Jean is happy, it's not with Kevin, and that's okay.

I'm so obsessed with Jean's feelings towards Neil. They're absolutely not romantic or sexual which we know for sure now but they're so strong anyway. He says he should have been his forever partner! He really trusts Neil with his life despite only knowing him in the Nest for a few weeks- something that never happened with Riko or Zane despite knowing them both for years.

You know that post on here detailing exactly how horse people become horse people through a process of extremely intentional and carefully cultivated empathic and compassionate understanding and constant self-regulation in order to keep a horse calm enough to trust you and let you ride it that ultimately results in a bond forged between man and horse so profound that of course you become a horse girl, you had no fucking chance of not?

Andrew would absolutely be amazing with horses. No I will not elaborate, if you've read AFTG then I don't need to. Give that man a ranch and some 'troubled cases' and watch that man master the equestrian art. But also,

I like to think that in an AU where Neil and Jean grew up together in the Nest or otherwise, I feel like Neil would be such an overprotective angry cat to all of Jean's suitors. He would scratch Kevin (who may or may not even like Jean like that, but Jean has a crush on Kevin, so Kevin gets punished anyway and is so confused). Neil would hiss menacingly at Jeremy. Both of them have to deal with it cause Neil's protective of his forever partner, and it's a packaged deal at this point.

Jean is very snooty to Andrew and gives him the shovel talk but leaves it at that. Whereas Neil clings to Jean and swipes at Jeremy when he comes near them. He's totally chill (still snarky) to Kevin and Jeremy when Jean isn't around which makes his behavior even more baffling and insufferable to them.

I'm thinking about it real hard and tbh Neil would take Kevin's phone and block his account from Kevin's Twitter and then be the most ridiculous Kevin Fan Account. He would reply to fan theories, check them, debunk/confirm them. He would share Kevin's stats and talk so often about how much he looks up to him and his skills. the whole team just thinks Kevin knows and doesn't care.

and then one day an interviewer brings the account up and Neil can't get out fast enough, tries to deactivate it. but it ends up being something Kevin likes. The attention he enjoyed as a Raven but not the objectification. Neil telling people to fuck off and then agreeing with another that Kevin has improved. Showing details and stats and it's touching to him, even if it would be weird to anyone else. Kevin who still really craves that adoration and attention bordering on stalker/codepency and Neil who can deliver it perfectly.

Kevin bestows him with the #1 Fan title and Neil is even more insufferable after that.

ok but, what if the day neil realized he wanted nothing to do with his father's business and that he just wanted to play exy was the day riko had his awakening to violent sadism? like, what if little baby-sadist riko was soooo excited to get nathaniel because he thought it was so cool that he got to have the butcher of baltimore as his dad. maybe he was really looking forward to asking nathaniel all about the cleaver and the knives, and did nathaniel know how to use knives? did he have any? has he ever watched his father work before? but then the next day comes and nathaniel doesn't show up and riko spends months deeply disappointed. it's made worse by the fact that no one will tell him what happened to nathaniel. when he talks to kevin about it, kevin says he thought it was probably good the kid never came back. and when he gets mad at kevin for saying that, then kevin's sorry. then kevin says they don't need him anyway. the two of them are going to be the best and they don't need a third - which... is true, so riko forgives him.

and then years later, he sees kevin talking up this newbie striker, which is bad enough in itself. but then riko does some digging and finds out that this guy kevin's gushing about is none other than nathaniel wesninski. the same guy kevin once dismissed as not good enough for them when he had been the one person riko had actually wanted to play with. and that's the guy kevin is replacing him with.

I love that Neil and Kevin repeatedly rejected the Ravens after they figured out how horrible they were, of course

But what I love more is that Andrew rejected them even before people knew how horrible they were

Nobody had come out with anything against the Ravens yet (at least I don’t think so?) and Andrew just decided he did not like them and joined the Foxes instead, and I respect that.
