I don’t love that there aren’t a lot of sources on this, but as far as I can tell it’s a fairly new thing (earliest info on Clear Choice is from 2 weeks ago).

Suuuuuuuuuuuuper glad a bunch of strangers who somehow can’t find a decent candidate in a country of over 200 million adults have decided WE’RE all too stupid to decide between more than two options. Instead of, you know… picking better candidates to prop up.

There are more. I’ve tagged my 30. Some of course had more impact than others. Some were even before I was born. For example I was about to add #marvin gaye. As I’ve grown older and learn more about the lives of these people who were all beacons in some capacity I can’t help but be moved by their loss.

My answer is yes for Heath Ledger. I was obsessed with him when he died and it broke my little pre-teen heart 💔

In some cases it is easier for an independent candidate to get on the ballot while in others it is easier for a party organization. So independents like Kennedy and West may try to get the endorsement of existing minor parties in some states.

Many states require both the presidential and vice presidential candidates to be named before putting a minor party on the ballot. So Kennedy has to choose his running mate soon and No Labels has to choose who their candidates will be if they are going to continue their campaign.
