Unexpected
Warnings: Mentions of pregnancy and childbirth
Summary: For nine months, you'd prepared and expected a baby but something unexpected happens.
A/N: Hello! I was back at school this week and have been so drained from the work load so I'm here relaxing and writing away. I only know surface level stuff so I'm sorry for any medical inaccuracies. Exams are next week so I won't be writing anything then. This is unedited and I apologise but please do enjoy!!!!
Four years into your marriage with Kelly, two years with infertility issues, you had come to the point of acceptance and making the possible choice of fostering or adoption.
But then one day you got shot at work and when treating you, the doctor gave you the unexpected news.
You couldn't believe it. You were finally pregnant. After so much struggle, IVF and the unsuccessful tests, you were finally pregnant. You could finally have the family you dreamed of having as a little girl.
You weren't allowed back onto the field. Hank benching you to desk work till your baby welcomed itself. A choice that made you very angsty to get up and be on the move.
You didn't feel like much of a detective being sat at a desk all day while the rest of Intelligence went running around ragged looking and catching bad guys.
So during the moments of peace, you found yourself driving to the firehouse to bother your husband and the people he considered family.
The men and women of 51 loved you as much as they did Kelly, you were one of their own and you were doing the impossible by growing and delivering a mini Kelly Severide into the world.
Kelly rolled his eyes every time you brought up the gender. Call it mothers intuition but you had a gut feeling that you were having a boy, a concept which Kelly didn't mind but thought otherwise.
Refusing to find out the gender, you preferred to watch everyone wait impatiently, their bets pilling up as they put money on your baby's gender.
You scoffed seeing Kim and Hailey 'sneakily' pass money over to Cruz one night at Molly's.
The pregnancy flew by. Small milestones of your belly popping, the first kicks, the weird cravings and watching the growing blob develop on an ultrasound was so surreal but before anyone knew it, you were already hitting the nine month mark.
You left early. Today's case was running late and another murder got called it close to midnight, you were no longer needed and your husband sat at home. The thought of foot massage was ever so enticing.
Said man welcomed you home with the tea that soothed your nausea, your nightly snack at the go and he looked just delicious sitting in his pyjamas.
Pregnancy hormones man. Who would've thought.
And just like every night, the day ended with both of you in bed, his hands gently caressing your ballooning stomach, talking and debriefing with your unborn baby, smiling when a particular comment elicited a kick, showing the imprint on a foot against your skin.
Falling asleep wasn't easy though, especially with the new addition of Braxton hicks. You always found yourself tossing and turning, pushing Kelly to the other side of the bed so you could be left alone with the other love of your life: your pregnancy pillow. The triangular pillow a dream come true.
Eventually, you got up to refill your bottle and water, taking a quick pee because the pressure on your bladder was stupid.
Taking out some ice cubes from the ice tray, you slowly plonked them into your bottle, your eyes heavy with the sleep that refused to come from such a long day at work.
"Baby? Why are you awake?" Kelly's voice was hoarse as he appeared in the kitchen, his hair a mess as he rubbed the sleep away from his eyes.
"Your son is playing football in here. He's already obsessed." You whispered back, letting him recollect himself as he made his way towards you, watching through bleary eyes as you closed the freezer door.
"My son huh? Well I think our daughter is just really excited to meet her very impatient parents." Kelly smirked, his arms circling around your waist before he crouched down to be face level with your protruding stomach.
"Hey baby girl." He whispered, his eyes focused on your stomach and nowhere else. "Your mummy is very tired after working all day. She needs all the sleep before you come home. Do you think you could do me a favour?"
You smiled softly at the sight. Your husband was already smitten and the baby wasn't even here yet.
A few seconds passed and all of a sudden, the little football match came to an end.
You scoffed, looking down at your husband incredulously. "Wow."
Standing back up, Kelly now smiled down at you. "Obviously, I'm the favourite parent."
"Watch it lieutenant." You pouted, poking his chest. "I've got some detectives in my back pocket."
Smiling at each other, basking in the silence and warm lighting, you almost forgot about your sleep deprivation.
Breaking you out of your thoughts was the sound of water dripping, Kelly's face mirroring your thoughts.
"Did you leave the tap on?"
You frowned, you were sure you-
Your mind went blank the millisecond you registered your wet trousers.
Looking down at where your feet would've been had it not been for your stomach being in the way, you swore lightly under your breath.
"I think he interpreted your words differently." You said, looking back up at Kelly who stood astonished.
"Baby's coming today."
*****
You didn't go to the hospital straight away.
Instead, you wiped yourself down and changed clothes while Kelly cleaned up and brought out your already packed hospital bag all while timing the length and time between your contractions.
The sun was rising when you made your way to the hospital, your midwife already in the loop the moment your water broke.
Settling into your room, dressed in your gown, you sighed.
You were bored. What were you supposed to do while you waited for the birth to get into motion.
Your epidural had been confirmed and scheduled for later on when your contractions progressed further. The nurse had just come to measure you before leaving.
You sent a quick text to Hank, apologising for such short notice, saying your maternity leave would start earlier than planned. Kelly had just called Boden, his shift starting not too long ago.
"Boden's got Cruz covering for me." Kelly said, putting his phone in his pocket as he stood by your bedside.
"I'm all yours for the next few weeks."
"I would love you so much if you could just-" You sharply inhaled at the painful contraction, doing the breathing exercises you practised with your midwife. "Just get this baby out."
"How about we go on a walk? Might help speed things up."
All Kelly was met with were your grabby hands.
*****
Several hours later and you were in active labour.
You were surrounded by nurses and the doctor, Kelly glued to your side but at some point when you were pushing, he was ushered away by a nurse who you briefly heard mention the words 'umbilical cord'.
"It's a girl!"
You choked back a sob, your eyes watery as they placed your daughter on your chest for skin-to-skin. Your hands immediately flew to hold her. Your emotions so haywire that you couldn't care less about the cleanliness of her little body.
Inhaling shakily, you looked up through tears at Kelly who was back at your side. He kissed your forehead multiple times, his hand on top of yours so you could both hold your baby.
After a few minutes, she was carefully taken away to be weighed and clean, leaving you and Kelly to revel alone. Reality came crashing down: you had a daughter, your had a-
"Mrs Severide, what's wrong?"
Hearing the doctors question, Kelly looked away from your daughter and back down at you in alarm, his eyes wide in confusion at your own confused face.
"I- I feel..."
You weren't able to finish as you were overcome with the sudden need to push.
It seemed that even without you voicing your thoughts, they knew exactly what was happening.
"Okay Y/N, we go again." The OB said as you squeezed the blood out of Kelly's hand. "Push just like you did."
The next few moments felt like a blur. You weren't too sure what was reality and what was an illusion - everything was happening too fast for you to comprehend what was actually happening.
All of a sudden, a second cry broke out, as loud and high-pitched as the first.
"It's a girl!"
You blinked, your head clearing up.
"Congratulations! Two beautiful girls!"
Then the apparent second baby was placed on your chest, a routine that was just performed not even ten minutes ago.
The tears were flowing now with nothing to stop them. Your shaky hands went to hold her small body as the clouds dissipated and the sky finally cleared.
*****
The two baby beds were rolled towards your bed, Kelly standing up when the nurses entered the recovery room.
"Congratulations mum and dad!" One of the nurses started.
"You have two healthy identical twin girls."
You couldn't believe it, no one could.
There was never a point during the nine months of pregnancy that would even suggest you having twins and now all of a sudden, your leaving the hospital with two twin girls.
You were so lost in your thoughts that you didn't hear Kelly's conversation with the nurses.
"Kelly..." You looked at your husband who was just as shocked as you. "Kelly we have two babies."
"We have twin girls babe." Kelly emphasised, his stupid smile covering his entire face.
"We're not even prepared for one let alone two." You said, sitting up to pick one of them up. "Baby- oh my gosh, we have twins."
Before Kelly could reply, the room door opened and Matt poked his head in. "Knock Knock, can we-"
Matt stopped himself as he laid eyes on the baby on your chest and then the baby that was being picked up by Kelly.
"Matt, move out the way, let me see-" Sylvie barely stopped herself from squealing as she saw the two babies.
"Holy shit, twins?!" Matt half frowned, following Sylvie to your side. "When did this even happen?"
"Literally an hour ago man." Kelly said in greeting to his best friend. "No one had any idea."
"AH- two girls! Congratulations, oh my gosh I'm so happy for you guys." Sylvie gushed, cooing at the little bundles in your arms.
"Oh yeah, Jay and Hailey were somewhere behind us."
Another knock sounded just as the words came from Matt, the door creaking open for the blonde detective to make herself known.
"Y/N, hey-" Hailey gasped so loudly that Jay's swearing could be heard from inside the room.
"Woah." Jay's lack of words proved his surprise.
You and Kelly laughed.
"Well Kelly was right, they're girls."
Jay and Sylvie high-fived, their smirks making it evident they were on the winning side of the bet.
"This is definitely unexpected. I have no idea how we're going to manage." You said, handing one baby off to Hailey while Kelly lay the other into Matt's outstretched arms.
"That's what we're here for, along with the rest of 51 and Intelligence." Sylvie said, looking fondly at the baby in Matt's arms as she held your hand in both of hers comfortingly.
"You've got a very big family ready to help. We're first responders, it's our job."
You hugged the blonde, overcome with sudden emotion.
"Besides," Jay spoke up, gently taking the baby from Hailey's arms into his. "What godparents would we be?"
The room dissolved into laughter.
You had two adorable girls and an entire village at your beck and call. While unexpected, they were more than welcome with open arms and open hearts.

One Chance (k.s.)
Fandom/Characters: Chicago Fire - Kelly Severide x Fem!Reader, Leslie Shay
Word Count: 1k
Summary: Kelly Severide. The man who hasnât stopped asking you out since you joined 51. But now, you have a date and his time is up.
Warnings: flirting, fluff, tiniest bit of angst? (idk if this would even be considered angst,) happy ending
a/n: i donât rlly like this but itâs smth quick and short cuz i was bored. i literally saw this gif and the idea came to me, idk what it was about the gif but it resulted in this so here you go ! enjoy reading <3
âHey gorgeous,â You heard him say as you walked in, winking at you.
âMorning, Severide.â You reply, rolling your eyes.
âWhen are you going to let me take you out?â He asked like clockwork.
This had been going on since the week you'd joined the firehouse. Each day, heâd ask if you wanted to go on a date with him. And every time, your response would be the same,
âNever.â
Yet he still hadn't given up, âNever say never, mâlady.â His answer earned a chuckle from you, causing a grin to form on his face.
Truth be told, you really liked him. He was not only an excellent leader but also a great friend. And let's face it, he wasn't bad looking either. Who were you kidding? You could get lost in those mesmerizing blue eyes for hours. He was beautiful.
But you also knew him. You knew his reputation. A ladiesâ man, a womanizer, a playboyâ you could go on and on. You were aware of the multiple women he'd take home weekly and you didnât want to be one of them. You weren't the kind of girl who regularly has one-night stands. There's nothing wrong with them, it just wasn't who you were.
The point is, you didn't want to just be someone he was one and done with. Which is why you were continuously rejecting his advances. You couldn't lie though, it was fun watching him flirt with you in hopes of one day, getting your attention.
As you entered the kitchen in search of coffee, you noticed that he had quietly followed you inside.
âSo. Any plans for this weekend?â He questioned, as you poured yourself a cup.
âActually, yes. You want one?â You asked, pointing the mug at him.
âNo thanks, but do tell.â He inquires.
âI have a date.â
âWith who?â He instantly questions.
âNot that it's any of your business, but this guy I met at a coffee shop down the street a few days ago,â You reply, smiling.
He rolls his eyes in annoyance but tries once more, âHow about you ditch him and go on a date with me instead, beautiful?â
âOnce again Severide, not happening.â You shut him down for the umpteenth time, walking away.
Shay was currently at your apartment helping you get ready for the date you had tonight.
âI'm just saying, I've never seen him so into a girl before.â She tells you, lying on your bed as you rummage through your closet for something to wear.
For the last hour, she has been persistently trying to convince you that Kelly has suddenly developed a romantic interest in you.
âLeslie, I know he's your best friend and roommate and that you have to be on his side or whatever- but come on, we both know how he is. Which one?â You ask, revealing two black dresses you were struggling to choose between.
âThe one on the left.â She answers before going back to the topic at hand, âHeâs changed Y/N- he hasn't brought home a single girl in the last month! If that doesn't tell you something then I don't know what will.â She exclaimed.
âJust because he hasn't brought them home doesn't mean he hasn't been to their places instead.â You point out, putting on the dress.
She sighs. âJust give him a chance Y/N, he's a great guy.â
âI know he is, but being a great man doesn't also necessarily make you a great boyfriend.â You say while beginning your hair and makeup.
âYouâre so difficult.â She counters, earning a giggle from you.
Shay had gone home and since you were done getting ready with 30 minutes to spare, you decided to watch some TV.
You were flipping through the channels when you heard a knock at your door. Assuming your date had arrived early, you hurriedly went to answer it.
âHey, you made it-â You speak excitedly before looking up and noticing who it is, âSeveride?â You furrow your brows, not expecting him to be here.
âYou look absolutely breathtaking.â He says, looking you up and down.
His words quickened the pace of your heart. And the way his gaze slowly roamed down the outline of your body caused a shiver to run down your spine, electrifying every nerve along the way.
âUhh, thanks⊠But what are you doing here? If you're looking for Shay, she left a while ago-â You quickly answer, pushing aside the way his compliment made you feel before he cuts you off.
âI'm not here for her, Iâm here to talk to you.â
âWell, you better make it quick because I'm sure my date will be here soon.â You open the door further, letting him into your space.
âScrew that guy!â He says turning to face you towards the door, âHow many times do I have to ask you- go out with me. Please.â
If you didn't know him any better, you'd almost think he was desperate with the way he was pleading.
âKelly,â You pause, noticing the way his breath hitches at your use of his first name. âI don't want to be just another name you add to your list of girls you've slept with.â
âYou won't be! I like you Y/N and if you let me, I can prove it to you. Iâm done with all the women- all I want is you.â He lets out exasperated.
âYou mean that?â Still unsure of his motives, you look into his eyes searching for anything to prove to you that heâs being honest.
He nods before repeating his earlier statement while taking a step closer to you, âSo how about, you call up your coffee shop man, tell him you're canceling and let me take you on this date instead?â
You laugh, âYou drive a hard bargain Kelly Severide.â
âIs that a yes?â
You nod, not being able to contain your ear-to-ear grin, loving the way he beams back at you. That smile is something you could definitely get used to.
âDon't make me regret this Severide.â You say in a teasing manner.
âGod no.â He says relieved before swiftly pulling you into a bone-crushing hug, causing you to erupt into a fit of giggles.
Maybe Shay was right, maybe he really had changed for the better.

âYou should just tell him.â Stella told her stressed friend.
âYeah, Y/n. He would totally understand.â Sylvie nodded in agreement.
âNo one can predict how heâll take it.â Y/n shook her head with a solemn expression.
Stella reached over, putting a hand on Y/nâs shoulder. âKellyâs not an ass. He wonât judge.âÂ
âYeah, no way. I bet heâd be supportive.â Sylvie added, she thought Stella was right. Kelly has a heart of gold, he wouldnât judge Y/n.
But they both understood why she was nervous, they after all had heard Kelly talking with the guys too.
Y/n decided to take their advice and talk with Kelly, but first she just wanted to try once more with him. Maybe she could get herself to just âdo itâ and not have to tell him.
Later that night when they were home at their shared place. Y/n decided to try her last ditch effort. So she stepped out in her bathrobe wearing a new set of lingerie. As she stood in the doorway to the hallway she spoke up. âHey, I got something that I want to show you. So can you come here?â
âThe games on you woman bring it out here?â he responded not removing his eyes from the t.v.
âWell, itâs kinda a bedroom activity.â y/n answered with a seductive tone.
Which of course got his attention. âOh, well then.â
They got pretty far. Entered the bedroom, both of them laughing. Both undressed, well mostly. Kelly layed on the bed, leaning back against the headboard and pillows. Kelly leaned forward kissing Y/nâs neck. As he reached up running his hands up her back, Y/n felt her heartrate pick up. But once he went to unclip her bra, she couldnât do it. She couldnât go through with it.
ây/n?â Kelly pulled back when he felt her breathing pick up. âY/n, are you alright?â
Y/n tried to answer but couldnât, she realized she was having a panic attack and sheâs sure Kelly figured it out to.
âIâm sorry.â She apologized after recovering from the panic attack and calmed her breathing. Y/n buried her head in his chest out of embarrassment.
âDonât be sorry. But Y/n, we never have to do anything you donât want to. Never. But I think I deserve and need to know what's wrong. Did I do something?â Kelly wasnât wrong, he did need and deserve to know. Especially since he didnât really do anything wrong like heâs thinking.
âI overheard you talking with the guys the other day and-â
âHey, what you heard, yeah maybe I should of just come straight to you but. Y/n/n, I donât know what's going on and I needed advice. We keep being inches from having sex and then something happens.â Kelly shook his head pushing her back just enough to look her in the eyes. âI need to know. Did I do something? Are you not ready to take that step yet? What is it?â
Y/n knew she needed to tell him now. Or there might not be a relationship now. âIâm asexual.â
There was a few minutes of silence before he answered. Which made y/n even more nervous.
âThat's it?â Kelly furrowed his eyebrows before letting out a breath of relief, giving her a soft sweet smile. âY/n, if you donât want to have sex when Iâm trying to inicate it then just tell me. If thereâs something I can do to make sex more comfortable to you than, please tell me. If Iâve learned anything about relationships itâs that we always need to talk about things. Okay?â
âOkay.â Y/n nodded smiling. Stella and Slyvie were right, he didnât judge.

Stuck With Me
After a car accident leaves Y/N in critical condition, Casey anxiously waits by her side as she fights for her life, grappling with his own fears and the weight of everything they've both been through.
Y/N had been on her way to start her shift at Med when it happened. One second, she was slowing for the intersection; the next, the world exploded in shattering glass and screeching metal. The impact sent her car spinning, slamming into a streetlight. Then, nothingness.
Brett and Violet had just finished a call when the dispatch came throughâmajor MVC, driver unconscious, possible entrapment. Their stomachs dropped when they heard the location. They instantly recognized the location, as it was on the route you typically took to get to your shifts at Med.
They arrived to find Y/N trapped, barely conscious, blood pooling from a head wound. She was breathingâbut barely, and it was visibly laboured. Violet gets into the passenger seat and starts IV and gets a C-Collar on her. Squad 3 pried the door open, and gently moved her to the gurney. Just as she was settled on the gurney, the monitors shrieked in warning as she flatlined.Â
âNo pulse!â Violet shouted. âStarting compressions!â She jumps on and straddles the gurney as Brett and Severide load it in.Â
Casey arrived just in time to see them loading Y/N into the rig, Brett delivering a shock with the defibrillator, as Violet sat back on the bench and spoke into her radio. His stomach turned as he saw your body jolt. Matt tried to jump into the back of the ambulance, but Severide held him back before slamming the doors shut, as Cruz got into the cab and gunned it to Med.Â
En route to Med, Violet is doing compressions, while Brett gets you intubated since you were no longer protecting your airway.Â
Once they arrive to Med, it is a host of organized chaos
"Female, late 20s, T-boned at high speedâfound unresponsive at the scene, GCS 3. Sustained significant chest trauma with suspected cardiac contusion or tension pneumo. Lost pulses as we left the sceneâthree rounds of epi given, three shocks delivered. Intubated en route, no spontaneous respirations. Six-minute downtime."
âGoing to Baghdadâ Maggie called out as they rushed past.Â
As soon as they entered, the trauma room was chaosâbeeping monitors, the hurried shuffle of feet, the thud of chest compressions. The team had been working for what felt like an eternity, but nothing was giving. Will, Ethan, and Connor moved in sync, pushing meds, shocking Y/N again and again, trying to pull her back from the brink.
âPulse?â Connor asked, voice strained, eyes fixed on the monitor.
âNothing,â Will answered, his voice low but firm.
Connor turns to the defibrillator and starts charging it again.Â
"Charged to 360! Clear!" Connor shouted, his voice cutting through the noise of the trauma room.
The room fell silent for a moment as Y/Nâs body jolted once more, the shock coursing through her.
Seconds ticked by. All three doctors were watching the monitors, when suddenly, the beeping of a faint pulse began to return. Connorâs heart hammered in his chest.
âShe's back,â Ethan breathed, exhaling a breath he hadnât realized heâd been holding.
Connor quickly turned his attention back to Y/N, watching her intently.Â
âWe need to get her to the OR,â he said, taking charge, his voice steady and commanding. âIâm not wasting time. Let's move.â
He looked over to Will and Ethan. âYou ready?â
Will nodded, already prepping the IV fluids. âLetâs go.â
Severide appeared in the doorway, his face tense with worry, but relief in his eyes. âIs she stable enough to move?â
âFor now,â Connor replied, turning to the gurney, adjusting Y/Nâs head gently, making sure your airway was secure. âBut weâre pushing it. We canât wait much longer.â
The team was quick to wheel Y/N out of the trauma room, and Connor took point, pushing the gurney with a sense of urgency. He never took his eyes off of her, watching the mechanical rise and fall of her chest from the ventilator and the pulse on the monitor.
âStay with me, Y/N,â he whispered to himself, though he knew you couldnât hear him. His breath caught as they reached the hallway, the tension thick in the air.
The OR doors loomed ahead, and the weight of the moment hit him like a ton of bricks. He had no idea what would happen when they got you insideâbut he knew one thing for sure: He wasnât letting you go without a fight.
The team rushed you into the OR, and Connor didnât hesitate. He followed immediately, calling orders as they moved into the sterile environment.
âLetâs get everything prepped. Iâm not losing her,â Connor said, his voice sharp and filled with determination. âSheâs strong. Weâve got this.â
In the hall
Casey stood there, numb, watching the love of his life disappear behind the operating room doors.
And then, as they wheeled her pastâhis vision swam. The world tilted.
Someone called his name. Hands grabbed at him.
Thenânothing.
âCasey!â Severide barely caught him before he hit the floor. He was completely outâlimp in Severideâs arms.
Brett rushed for help. Choi arrived within seconds, immediately checking Caseyâs vitals. âPulse is weakâthready. BPâs tanking.â
âMatt, come on,â Severide muttered, shaking him, but he didnât stir.
Choi pressed his knuckles hard against Caseyâs sternum, rubbing roughly.
Nothing.
Another rub.
Casey suddenly gasped, jerking violently. His eyes flew open, wild and unfocused.
Then he fought.
Casey came back swinging. Hands on his arms, voices all around him, his body on fire. He felt trappedâpinned.
âNoâget off me!â He thrashed, panic clawing at his chest.
âHold him down!â Choi barked. âIf he doesnât stop, heâs gonna crash again!â
âCasey, stop!â Severideâs voice cut through the chaos. âYouâre safe. You passed out.â
But Casey wasnât listening. His body was still in fight mode, reacting purely on adrenaline. Choi didnât hesitate.
âTwo milligrams IM Ativanânow.â
A sharp prick in his shoulder. Seconds later, warmth spread through his veins, dragging him under.
The next time he woke, he was in an ER bay, IV now in his arm, nasal cannula delivering oxygen. His head throbbed. His limbs felt like lead.
âEasy, man.â Severide was beside him.
Casey blinked, sluggish. âWhatâŠâ
âYou passed out. Went completely unresponsive. Scared the hell out of all of us.â
Flashes came backâY/N, the OR, the panic, the blackout.
Casey swallowed hard, noticing the IV in his arm. He reached up to yank the nasal cannula offâ
âDonât even think about it,â Severide warned, standing to place a heavy hand on his best friendâs shoulder.
Casey scowled but relented. âWhereâs Y/N?â
Severide hesitated. âWill should be out soon.â
Minutes stretched painfully before Will appeared.
âShe made it,â Will said. âSurgery went well. Sheâs stable.â
Relief hit Casey so hard he nearly choked on it.
Severide wheeled Casey up to her room, IV still hooked up. When they entered, Y/N was just starting to stir. Her eyes fluttered open, hazy with sedation. Her gaze landed on Casey.
She blinked, confusion flickering across her face. âMatt?â Her voice was hoarse from the tube.
âHey,â Casey rasped, moving closer. âYeah, Iâm here.â
Her eyes drifted to the wheelchair, to the IV still in his arm. Her brows furrowed. âWhat⊠what happened?â
Casey hesitated, but Severide filled in the blanks. âIdiot over here passed out in the waiting room when they took you back.â
Y/Nâs lips parted in faint surprise. âYouâwhat?â
Casey exhaled. âGuess I didnât handle it well.â
She gave a soft, tired smile. âYouâre stuck with me, Casey.â
His throat tightened as tears started rolling down his face. âYeah,â he murmured, taking her hand gently. âI wouldnât want to be anywhere else.â
The first few days of your recovery were rough. The pain was unbearable at times, but the exhaustion was worse. Physical therapy was grueling. But Casey never left your side.
Some days, she made progressâsitting up, taking a few steps.
Other days, the setbacks hit hardâpain flaring, dizziness keeping you in bed. Frustration weighed on you, but Casey was always there, steady as ever.
âYou got this,â heâd whisper, pressing a kiss to her forehead.
One night, you broke down, tears slipping free. âWhat if I donât get back to how I was?â
Casey cupped your face. âYou're not alone. We havenât crossed that bridge yet, but if we do, then we figure it out together.â
Y/N exhaled shakily. Then, she leaned into him.
Because through it allâthrough the pain, the fear, the uncertaintyâone thing remained true.
She wasnât doing this alone.
And neither was he.

Warnings: fluff, angst, smut, jealously
Masterlist
A/N: @twistersmaverick thank you for sending in the request and prepare yourself. @imagine-all-the-fandoms here's some more smut for ya!
You are a Rhodes, the younger sister, by 4 years, of none other than Connor Rhodes, even though he was your brother he raised you to be the woman you were today. When he went to medical school you went to the fire academy for being a paramedic and you loved every second of it.Â
When you arrived at Firehouse 51 everyone was already in a tight knit group and you were worried that you wouldn't fit in but boy were you wrong so wrong. They opened their arms and hearts to you, one person more so than others. Who? Well, none other than Kelly Severide.
Kelly. Kelly Severide. The man that could swoon anyone's heart and break them without even trying. Kelly Severide the man you were in love with but didn't want to admit it or took his advances but deep down you would in a heartbeat but afraid to have your heart broken.Â
The man in question has already tried to win you over but nothing has worked and that just made the mission all more exciting. The advances he made towards you were always shut down because of your past relationships, the worst one was when you were left at the altar. Deep down you were in love with him but you weren't going to give him the satisfaction of giving in⊠well at least not it.
Currently the whole lot of you had just arrived at 51 to start your shift. You were walking in with your two coworkers on Ambulance 61, Sylvie Brett and Gabriela Dawson, they were like sisters to you and very quickly took you under their wing when you first arrived and you were so grateful for that. âDid you hear that the police academy is having a seminar?â Sylvie asked.
âOh yes! Heard about that. I ran into some of them and man they're good looking. Especially one of the TOs from LA.â Gabriela said âHave you heard about or seen them Y/N?â She asked you.Â
âI heard about it through Connor's and I met up at Molly's for our weekly hangout. Jay was going on about it. He didn't seem too thrilled about it.â You said as you three walked into the bay.Â
âWhat did Jay have to say about them?â Sylvie askedÂ
âHe said there are a lot of young ones there still learning the ropes and clearly were not trained like he and the rest of Intelligence were. He said that there was an older rookie that was there and he was amazed. There is one officer he butts heads with constantly.â You said as the rare heat that Chicago was having started to make you sweat.Â
âDid you happen to get his name?â Gabriela askedÂ
âI think Jay said it was something like Tim Bradford.â You said as you put your stuff away. âHe said he was strict, almost too strict and he wanted stuff done his way and if it wasn't then he was going to fight you on it.â You said as you three headed through the doors and your eyes locked with Kelly's and you had to stop yourself from smiling or blushing especially when he winked at you. You turned away and continued walking just as soon as the bells rang for Ambo 61 and the three of you were off.Â
-
5 hrs. later you three were back at the station exhausted. âOh man I think that's the longest we've ever been out.â Sylvie said, rolling her shoulders and her neck.Â
âI agree. That was a lot.â You said as you opened the backdoor of the ambulance as they got out of the front.Â
âI don't know about you two but I'm going to try to get something to eat and rest before our next call.â Gabriela saidÂ
âYou two go ahead. I'm going to stock up and clean.â You said and they both nodded as you started to check everything you said you would do. Really you just wanted some peace and quiet to yourself. It was just a lot for you. As you were silently cleaning and restocking the ambulance a set of eyes were watching you without your knowledge.Â
-
While you three were gone Kelly was a nervous wreck. It was very unusual for a truck, engine, rescue, or ambulance to be gone for hours on end unless it was a tough call. Everyone knew the liking he took to you and they could see the nervousness in his eyes even though he kept his face neutral and kept busy. When he heard the doors open and the sound of the ambulance engine then did, he actually relax.Â
Kelly acted like he was busy as you opened the backdoor. He couldn't help but look over at you every couple of minutes. When he saw the other two girls leave and it seemed like the just the two of you left in bay did, he stopped what he was doing and look at you. The longer he kept staring at you the more in love he was falling for you. It became too much that he strode over to you and leaned on the door. Noticing a presence, you looked over and your stomach started to have butterflies. âHi Kelly.â You said as you went back to working.
âHello beautiful.â He said in a voice that made you shudder just hearing.Â
âBeautiful? Hardly.â You said scuffing not seeing the frown pop up on his face.
âYou're the hardest working, talented, level headed, beautiful, and smartest girl I know. I also think you should let me take you on a date.â He said with a smirk that had returned to his face.
âNo, Kelly. I'm none of those.â You said finally looking at him after restocking the things needed and saw that he was cleaning the doors. He turned to you having sensed that you were looking at him.
âYes, you are. It upsets me that you don't believe it.â He said
âYou saw that to all the girls you've been with.â You said trying to deflect that warm feeling pooling in your stomach.Â
âNo, I don't.â He said âYou can ask anyone. Ever since you came along, I haven't been going out with anyone.â He said and something in his eyes made you believe him. You continued to stare in those beautiful blue eyes that you would gladly get lost in. He stared back into yours and then suddenly you were getting closer to each other. So close that you could smell his shampoo that you have fallen in love with. Lips so close but yet seemed so far away. Just as your lips were barely touching the bells rang making you both stand still. You didn't pull apart until the doors leading into the bay opened and he was jumping away to get ready to head to the scene.Â
âFuck.â You whispered as you got situated in the back and shut the doors just as Sylvie and Gabriela jumped up in the front.
âLooks like we'll be getting to meet the cops in question.â Sylvie saidÂ
âOh?â You askedÂ
âSounds like they accidentally started a fire and can't put it out and some part of the building collapsed. Some injuries.â Gabriela said, to be honest you really didn't listen to the call you were too immersed in blue eyes. Then the comment he made about not being with anyone came to your mind and you needed to know the answer.Â
âTell me something.â You said out loud to the both of them as you pulled out of the bay.
âWhat's up?â Sylvie asked
âIs it true that Kelly hasn't been out with anyone since I've gotten here?â You saidÂ
âYea that's right. He has set his sights on you and is not going to let up anytime soon.â Gabriela said
âHmmm.â You said secretly smiling to yourself.
âYea that's right. Why do you ask?â Sylvie asked
âNo reason.â You said as the ambulance was pulled onto the open road heading to the convention center where the convention was being held. You sat quietly as you rode to the scene thinking about a certain blue-eyed man and what information you had been told. You let your walls down as you sat in the back by yourself. It seemed like no time you were pulling up to the building and that made your walls go up and you got into work mode. What you were not expecting when you opened the back of the ambulance door was how attractive some of these officers were going to be but you quickly pushed that to your mind.Â
âWoah.â You heard Gabriela say as she met you in the back to grab bags.
âYouâre telling me.â Sylvie said as she grabbed hers and waited for you to get down.
âEveryone ready?â You asked and they nodded âOk, divide and conquer if one of us needs one another then radio each other. The most critical ones need to be seen and taken right away.â You added and they nodded.
âOther stations are coming to help.â Sylvie said and you and Gabriela nodded âAlright let's get to it.â She said and the three of you were headed off in different directions. You could smell the smoke and the dust from the collapsed part of the building was making it hard to breathe but you trained for this and trucked on through it. Every now and then you would see Kelly appear and then disappear but each time he saw you and winked and then got busy. You checked out people here and there and sent the most critical to the hospital, thankfully not many had to go and a lot of them got out in time before the collapse and the fire started. As you were finishing checking an older officer out, a conversation caught your attention.Â
âLucy, I donât need to be checked out. Iâm fine. Iâve had worse.â A male voice sounded and you had to admit that it sounded nice.
âTim, please. I saw a piece of building hit your wrist. I fear it may be broken.â Lucy said
âNo, Iâm fine.â Tim said as you finished up with your current patient and then was sending him on his way to get some refreshments and you knew you had to go and check out Tim. You walked over to where the voices were.Â
âEverything ok over here?â You asked as you bent down at their height.
âTim here had his wrist hit as a part of the building was coming down and he wonât get it checked out.â Lucy said and you nodded.
âHmmmm a tough patient. I've had plenty of those, most of them in the military and first responders.â You said
âI mean I guess it wonât hurt to get it checked out if it is by you.â He said clearly trying to put his charm on you and you had to admit it was somewhat working. You smiled at him and then started to assess him as Lucy stepped away to talk to another younger officer seeming to be from the same department they were from. You started to take his vitals and you couldnât help feel him stare at you.Â
âLucy said you got hit by some falling debris?â You asked as you pulled the stethoscope out of your ears and he nodded.
âOnly on the wrist but Iâve had worse.â He saidÂ
âOh yea?â You asked as you examined him.
âI was shot on duty and I was a Staff Sergeant in the Army.â He said and you moved his wrist.
âSorry, I should've warned you.â You said and he shook his head.
âItâs ok. It hurt just a little bit. But pain coming from such a beautiful woman I can forgive.â He said and you actually blushed. As you were continuing to check him out you failed to notice another set of blue eyes looking at you and the jealousy that was lighting them up.Â
âNothing seems broken. I would encourage you to go to the hospital if the pain becomes too unbearable. I recommend icing it and taking some painkillers like Tylenol.â You said as you started to wrap it.
âMaybe you should come over and check it out to make sure everything is ok later on.â He saidÂ
âI would love to, but I have prior engagements.â You said as you stood and so did and you continued to talk to him.
-
Kelly was just putting things away on the truck when he noticed you taking care of an officer and it got something stirring inside of him especially when he started to make you laugh, smile, and even blush. âKelly you ok man?â Matt Casey asked, noticing his friend preoccupied.
âMe? Everything is fine.â He said though Matt could tell that was a lie he let it slide as he looked at the situation Kelly was looking at.
âYou have nothing to worry about.â Matt saidÂ
âOh?â Kelly asked
âOh yea, she loves you man. She just wonât admit it.â He said as Kelly looked over at him.Â
âYea right.â Kelly said and was momentarily distracted but when he heard you giggle and Tim placed a piece of hair behind your ear and he gave you a piece of paper that he knew had a phone number on it sent him overboard. He was quick to put everything away and then got into the truck. Everyone was headed back to the station. Kelly was absolutely quiet, fuming with jealousy. He quickly pulled his phone out and pulled your contact information up and hit the text option.Â
Meet me in my quarters. I need to discuss what happened at the scene with you.
You answered almost immediately.
You got it.Â
He put his phone away and rode the rest away in silence. He was going to make you his one way or the other and he didnât care who heard he wanted everyone to hear that you were his. It seemed like in no time everyone was arriving back to the station; he was quick to strip out of his gear and stormed off into his office and he waited. He didnât have to wait too long for a knock to be heard on the door and your voice coming through and he was telling you to come in and you did âYou wanted to see me.â You said and he nodded.
âClose the door.â He said as he stood up and started to close the blinds. âI couldnât help but notice that you were getting close to that cop you were treating before we left.â He said.
âOh Tim?â You asked âHe was just flirting with me. Iâm not going to go out with him. I was just treating him.â You said feeling something pull in the bottom of your stomach and it made you feel good. He strode over to you until the back of your knees hit his desk.Â
âTim is it. Does Tim make you feel the way I make you feel?â He asked as he caged you in. His cologne filling your senses. You could tell he was jealous and you wanted to keep it up.
âI think given him a chance he certainly could.â You said and you couldâve sworn you could hear a growl come up from his throat and it just turned you on more. You both stared at each other eyes darkening by the second until the both of you were crashing your lips onto each other. Both of your eyes were closed. His hands came to your waist and he helped stabilize you as you put your hands on his rock-hard abs. He licked your bottom lip asking for entrance and you welcomed it tongues battling for dominance teeth gnashing together. He ended up winning the battle. He stopped kissing you as he started to tug at your shirt and you opened your eyes to look at his opened ones and you nodded. That was enough for the kissing to resume and he pulled your shirt out of your pants and lips parting so he could take it off of you. Now you were in your sports bra and uniform pants.Â
âYouâre so beautiful.â He said and you blushed like mad as you started to take off his shirt and threw it where your shirt landed after he took it off of you. You looked him up and down and had to stop yourself from drooling. âIf you like what you see now, wait until the pants and boxers come off.â He said and you quietly moaned and he smirked as he and you started to work on getting each other's pants off and once they were off his boxers were next and he was right you liked what you saw.Â
âHoly shit.â You said and he smirked.
âIâm going to make you feel good baby.â He said as he crashed his lips onto yours and worked on getting your bra off and once it came off, he was sweeping everything off his desk and laying you on your back. The cold of the wood bit into your bare back but you didnât have long to think about it as he latched onto one of your nipples and your hands were flying to his hair and gripping it tightly. As he was giving your nipples attention, he was taking your underwear off and throwing it into the pile of clothing that was being collected. His hands resumed their position on your hips and you could feel his cock on the inside of your leg and you loved how girthy it felt.Â
âFuck me.â You moaned and he smirked and pulled off the second nipple after giving it the same amount of treatment he gave the other.
âOh Baby, I plan on it.â He said something in his voice that made you shudder with need as one hand ran up and down your slicked folds. âSo wet for me.â He said and you knew how to rile him up.
âAre you sure itâs not for Tim?â You asked smirking looking at him and that growl came back and his eyes darkened and a thick digit slid into you and curled and that smirk slid off your face and a moan slipped out while your eyes rolled into the back of your head.Â
âI bet he couldnât make you feel this good.â He said started to finger you and hit your g-spot.
âKels.â You moaned and right before you came, he was pulling his finger out and you whimpered and looked up at him. You watched him pump himself once and then he was guiding himself to your entrance and slowly sliding in. The stretch was welcoming and had you moaning and eyes rolling to the back of your head and he was moaning because you were tight and squeezing him.Â
âSqueezing me so tight. This pussy was made for me.â He moaned as his head went to your neck and you turned it so he could have access to it. You both didnât care that you both were still at work and you both were trying to be quiet how successful you two were being well you both really didnât care. He was biting into your neck as he was thrusting in you. Sweat started to pull on both of your foreheads and your bodies.Â
âMaking me feel so good.â You moaned as your legs wrapped around his waist and hands going to his shoulders and digging and you heard him inhale but started to suck on your neck more and slightly bite it. You knew he was trying to leave a mark, well if he was going to do that then you were going to leave your own mark. So, you slid your nails down his back leaving long scratch marks that were red and angry. He kept thrusting in and out of you and you were loving it and so was he. Heavy breathing took up the room, not a lot of talking was taking place due to you both trying to be quiet. One of his hands held your waist to keep you steady and the other traveled to your clit and started to rub it bringing you closer and closer to the edge. âIâm going to cum.â You moaned and he came out of your neck and looked at you.Â
âIâm right there with you. Cum with me.â He said as he kissed you as his thrusts started to become erratic and the knot in your stomach started to tighten until it was close to bursting. With the added pleasure on your clit and the stretching in all the right places and not to mention him hitting your g-spot each time you were coming and squeezing him and true to his word he was coming right behind you painting your walls white. Once he stilled, he released your lips and panting was heard throughout the room.
âI shouldâve made you jealous before.â You panted and he smirked.
âIâve been wanting to kiss you and have sex with you ever since I laid eyes on you. I love you Y/n.â He said and you smiled and leaned up and kissed him.
âI love you too, Kelly.â You saidÂ
âIâm going to pull out now.â He said and you nodded and he did so. He helped you sit up and kissed your swollen lips. He picked up clothing and separated everything and handed your clothing and the both of you got dressed in silence but it was comfortable. After getting dressed you helped him pick up his things and straightened his desk out and then the two of you were going to lay on his cot.Â
âWho knew a call with officers would make you admit your feelings.â You chuckled as you laid in his arms looking at him.
âHey I was trying but you shot down my advances.â He saidÂ
âI know Iâm sorry about that but I liked the way you admitted your feelings.â You said and he chuckled.
âI did too.â He said and he kissed your forehead and you closed your eyes. âI love you.â He said as your breath was evening out and he knew you were asleep when you didnât answer and when he looked down your eyes were closed. He knew that you loved and that is all that matters.

Fix You-Part 1
Kelly Severide x Reader x Matt Casey/ Sevasey x Reader
You get sent to Firehouse fifty one as a temporary placement when a paramedic is needed. Your first day you meet the house Captain and Rescue Squad Lieutenant.
âWhereâs your placement?â your sister asked as you balanced your phone between your ear and shoulder, trying to gather everything you needed to get out of the door. âFirehouse fifty one. They need a new partner for Brett after Dawson moved. Iâve worked with the rig in passing but this will pretty much be my first time working with the truck or rescue squadâ you told her as you rushed out of your apartment, locking the door behind yourself.
Youâd met with Chief Boden already along with Sylvie Brett but when youâd met with the two of them it had only been them. Today would be your official introduction as a temporary member of the house. You knew most of the firemen by name and face at the very least but you would be there for ten months. Youâd hopefully build at least a few friendships.
You parked your truck across the street where Boden told you it was ok then grabbed your gear and headed over to the station house. Sylvie spotted you and stepped out of the bays to meet you halfway âHey Y/Nâ you grinned âSylvie! Glad youâre here already. I wouldâve hated to walk into this without at least one friendly face at my sideâ she laughed and slipped her arm through yours âTheyâre not that bad, reallyâ
You raised an eyebrow and she shrugged âOk, well theyâre not worse than any other houseâ you laughed âNow that I believeâ
The two of you walked into the bays and you spotted a few men sitting around a table, one in a freaking recliner. âWhoâs the grandpa?â you asked without thinking about it and when he turned around you wanted the floor to open up and swallow you. It was Squad Three Lieutenant Kelly Severide. A grin slipped onto his face as he stood up to face you âWhoâs the spitfire Brett?â
You recovered from the embarrassment fast enough to smirk âSpitfire huh? I kinda like that. Nameâs Y/N. Iâm the temp paramedic here as a partner for Brett until Boden finds someone whoâs a fitâ he nodded as you held your hand out. He shook it then winked at you âThink Iâll stick with Spitfire, suits ya just fineâÂ
Matt Casey, the house Captain, walked out behind him and put a hand on his shoulder âIs this idiot bothering you ladies?â you shook your head âMy fault really, I called him a grandpaâÂ
A grin split Mattâs face at that as he cut his eyes at Kelly, affectionately running his hand over the other manâs grey hair âGrandpa huh?â âDonât you dare babeâ Kelly replied then nodded at you âThis is Y/N, the temp para but I think weâre gonna call her spitfireâ
Matt looked back at you âSpitfire?â you shrugged âI like itâ he nodded âThen itâs settled. Sylvie will show you around, get you a locker. If you need anything feel free to holler at me or Kellyâ you nodded âThanksâ
Within about a week or two you were on a first name basis with everyone you were on shift with and knew everyone who worked out of the station house. It was a family of sorts and even though you were only a visitor they were welcoming you in with no hesitation.Â
âWhy are you working as a temp?â Cruz asked one day when all of you were picking at breakfast before any calls had come in. You shrugged and sipped the coffee in your hands âHavenât really found a house that fits me. This way Iâm still doing what I love and helping houses that need it in the meantimeâ Kelly leaned back from where he was sitting across the room next to Matt and you knew the moment he grinned he was about to tease you âSo youâre a stray sniffing around for a home?âÂ
Matt slapped him behind the head then looked at you âIâm sorry. Iâve been trying to house train him for years but it hasnât takenâ you laughed as Kelly rubbed his head and cut his eyes at his boyfriend. âItâs fine Matt, he isnât wrong reallyâ âThink you may stay here?â Sylvie asked and you shrugged, feeling very much like you were in the hot seat âI donât know yet. I mean I like working here so far but itâs a little too soon to tellâ
Matt met your eyes and you knew he could tell you were uncomfortable because he cleared his throat âThatâs enough with the twenty questionsâ you shot him a small smile as a thank you as everyone turned their attention back to their food or other conversations.Â
A call rang out for a structure fire needing the truck, rescue and ambulance so everyone was on their feet and in motion, any semblance of breakfast long forgotten as you headed for the bays.Â
You ran past Matt and smiled âThanks for thatâ he nodded so you hurried to hop into the driverâs seat of the rig as he ran to the truck and Kelly ran to the rescue squad. Sylvie cut her eyes at you as you fell into the line of vehicles as they pulled out onto the road âI think youâll end up stayingâ You laughed lightly âThat you thinking or hoping Brett?â She shrugged âLittle bit of both?â
You walked into your apartment and considered for a second just crashing across your couch instead of making it to your bed but your phone chimed with a text from Sylvie Weâre going to Mollys. You in?
You were tired but it was a friday and you were off the next two daysâŠscrew it. You texted back Meet ya in twenty? And she replied See you there!
____________________________
You walked into Mollys and spotted Sylvie sitting with a few women from med and the twenty first so you headed towards her. You smiled when Kim Burgess greeted you âHowâs fifty one treating you?â you cut your eyes at Sylvie then nodded âBest partner Iâve had yetâ and Sylvie grinned broadly. You looked around âWhere is the rest of your unit Burgess?â she shrugged âAdam is currently retrieving our drinks, we got you one too. Jay and Mouse are over there in a booth with Fireballâ she nodded and you saw the men in question with their girlfriend. You knew Fireball well, she was a trauma nurse at Chicago med. One of the best youâd seen. Probably from her time as a combat medic, from what youâd gathered that was how the three of them had met.
âWhereâs the other two?â you asked and she grinned âKevin has a date with that new nurse from med that just moved here from scotland and Firecracker stayed in tonight with Will and Connorâ you nodded as Adam made it back to the table carrying the drinks and passed them out, shooting you a smile âHere ya go spitfire. If itâs not right, blame your partnerâ you laughed âItâs fine Adam. A free drink is a free drink. Especially one I know I can trustâ
____________________
You and Sylvie had Adam and Kim laughing about a call you responded to where a frat guy got his head caught in a stair railing. âHe was breathing fine, not in distress but I swear it reminded me of something that wouldâve happened in a movie from the eightiesâ you laughed around your drink.
Youâd only drink two with alcohol then switched to soda but the company was good so you were still enjoying the night out. âThereâs our medicsâ you heard Mattâs voice and cut your eyes up with a smile âCaptainâ he shook his head âWeâre not at work, just call me Mattâ you nodded âOk Mattâ Kelly grinned at you from next to him âAnd you always call me Kelly anywaysâ you laughed âThatâs cause Matt always acts like a captain. You only act like a lieutenant when weâre actively on a callâ
They nodded to the table âCan we join you four?â you shrugged and looked around. Sylvie shrugged and Adam patted the table âSureâ Kelly went to grab them drinks as Matt sat down next to you. âSo, spitfire, how long is your contract for anyways?â you grinned âTrying to get rid of me already?â he raised an eyebrow so you grinned âTen months unless I put in a request to stay. Boden said Iâd have that option as soon as six months hitâ
Sylvie gasped âYou did not tell me thatâ you grinned âBecause I donât want the twenty question game to start back upâ Matt shook his head âIt wonât. I wonât let itâ âThank youâ you replied and turned back to your previously abandoned conversation with Sylvie and Kim as Matt started talking to Adam then Kelly came back over and joined their conversation as well. Maybe you could find a place at Fifty one?Â
It was still a little soon to tell but it was starting to feel like home already.

Down the aisle | Leslie Shay x Firefighter!Reader
Where you and Shay go from girlfriend's to wives
Chicago Fire masterlist | Words: 1.6k
-----
âKelly Severide, stop laughing at me.â Shay said in frustration. âWhy? Itâs funny that you have something bad to say about every beautiful ring you see.â Her best friend had been with her in the jewellery store for the past hour, not to mention that it was the fourth jewellery store they had visited in the past week.Â
âThe ring has to be perfect, Kelly.â He shook his head, âI know, but at this pace there arenât going to be any rings left in the world. That girl is head over heels for you, and will say yes no matter what ring you pick. âStill I want it to be perfect.âÂ
They kept looking around at the ring collection this store had until Shayâs eyes fell on the one. âOh my god, thatâs it. That is the ring!â Kelly celebrated quietly behind Shayâs back. He loved his best friend dearly, but was also glad that he would finally be spending his days off somewhere other than in a jewellery store.
For Shay it had been easy to keep her thoughts of wanting to ask for your hand in marriage, but now that she had something physical to do it with, she was anxious you would find out. She had given Kelly the ring for safekeeping, but still she knew that she wouldnât be able to keep the plan a secret for much longer. So, she changed her original plan a little bit, and decided she was going to ask you on your next date night.
Since you both worked 24 hour shifts at the firehouse, you made sure that you made time for each other on your hours off. One of the things you did to reassure you would have some time set aside was a set date night. It really didnât matter what you did, the only thing that mattered is that you did it together.Â
Todayâs date night, you went to the Field Museum of Natural History. They had a dinosaur section, which is exactly why Shay wanted to bring you here. You loved dinosaurs and learning more about them. You thought the museum was amazing, and were running around showing her things like an excited little kid.
When you got back home, you were still talking about the dinosaurs. So much so that you didnât realise the set up of your living room. Shay looked around, very happy with how her idea had played out. She had asked Kelly and Dawson to set up the âWill you marry me?â sign surrounded by a rose petal heart. It looked absolutely perfect, now you just had to look around.Â
The moment that you did, time stood still. You looked at the setup in front of you with your jaw dropped, and eyes widened in surprise. When you turn to look at your girlfriend, she is down on one knee and holds out an open ring box towards you. âYes, yes, yes!â You say with tears in your eyes.Â
âYou're not even going to let me ask the question?â She giggles with tears in her own eyes from your excitement. âOops?â You laugh back. âPlease ask me, darling.âÂ
With a big smile on her face, Shay holds your hand. âYou are my best friend, and I want to spend the rest of my life by your side. Y/n Y/l/n, will you marry me?âÂ
You're now both full on crying, but in the best way. âYes, I will definitely marry you!â You fall into her arms and sob happy tears into each other's shoulders.Â
The rest of the evening was spent in the comfort of your home and each other's arms. It wasn't until the next day that you told people about your engagement. Shay sent Severide a picture with the text âShe said yes!â He congratulated the both of you and invited you for a drink at Molly's.
Of course, you should have expected the whole team to be waiting for you inside of Mollyâs as you arrived. All of them yelling out âSurprise!â When you walked through the door. It was nice celebrating this step in your relationship with the people closest to you, the people that had become your family over the years.
The next day where the team was back at work, the room buzzed with energy. Everyone was excited about the engagement, and was asking all kinds of questions about your plans for the wedding. Above all else, they were thrilled that the couple they had seen grow over the years, was taking the next step together.
Your day started off calm, but as soon as that first bell rang, you knew it wouldnât be stopping any time soon. As you expected, the calls began to pile up, and the intensity grew. A handful of car accidents, a heart attack victim, and a kitchen fire kept you busy in just the morning.
There was just enough time to have some lunch, before the bells rang again. All units were called to respond to the scene, so you knew this was going to be a serious one.Â
A multi-story building had caught fire, and people were still trapped inside. You rushed into truck 81 and your team raced to the scene. When you got there you realised just how far gone the building was. Flames were shooting out the windows, and thick dark clouds of smoke hung around the tall frame of the building.Â
Without hesitation, you all sprang into action. âY/l/n, youâre going up with me. The rest help Squad.â You put on your mask and ran inside, following close behind Casey. When you got up to the fire floor, there was no time for second-guessing, you had to go before the building would collapse.Â
The heat and the thick smoke combined, made it hard to see anything at all. Yet you kept yelling out, until finally you heard voices respond. A family of four was hiding in the bathroom, as most of the room was engulfed in flames.Â
You and Casey worked together to get the trapped family into the hall. You stood in the middle of the room, helping them over the flames, while Casey got them into the hallway. The moment that the family was out in the hallway, the ceiling about you gave way.Â
One of the beams came crashing down, and pinned you to the floor. âGo, get downstairs!â Casey shouted to the family. The safest for them was to head down and meet another firefighter there, he didnât want more of the ceiling to collapse while the family was still there.
âMayday mayday, firefighter down on the sixth floor.â He radioâs in while he makes his way to you. Seconds after Shayâs voice is heard over the radio. âCasey, is y/n okay?â He doesnât answer, as he doesnât know the answer himself yet.Â
âCasey, come in.â Boden requested as the line was still quiet from your end. âGetting to her now. The ceiling collapsed and sheâs trapped under a beam. Sheâs conscious, but I need help getting it off of her.â
You were conscious and talking to Casey while he was trying to pull the beam off himself, without any luck. Luckily more people arrived to aid him, very quickly. With many hands, cribbing, and the right tools, they were able to get you out from underneath the weight of the beam quickly.Â
When you got outside, one arm over Caseyâs shoulders and the other over Severides, you finally felt like you could breathe again. Shay ran into your arms. âAre you okay? Let me check you out, please, I need to make sure that youâre okay.â You lift your arms from the boys and hold onto your fianceĂ©. âIâm okay, just going to be really sore tomorrow.â
âI thought I lost you.â You shake your head. âYouâre not getting rid of me that easily.â You joke, but you were well aware of how the situation could have ended. âLife is too short. I donât want to waste any time.â Shay was quick to chime in, âYou donât have to convince me, letâs get married as fast as we can.â
After a long and exhausting shift, the team got together for a small firehouse wedding. It was just quickly thrown together, but you had all you needed. Your bride and your family surrounding you.Â
Severide walked Shay down the makeshift aisle, while you were standing in the doors of the apparatus floor with Casey by your side. He was like a brother to you, so there was not even a question on your mind when Shay asked you who you would want to walk you down the aisle. âAre you ready?â He says as he watches your eyes meet Shayâs. âIâve never been more ready for something in my life.â
You met Shay between Truck 81 and Ambulance 61, a small touch to give even more meaning to this day. Boden stood between you, who better to officiate your wedding than the man that had been like a father figure to the both of you.
The ceremony, while simple, was perfect. It was a day neither one of you would ever forget. After you had said your I doâs and sealed your marriage with a kiss, you carried Shay inside bridal style.Â
While the day may be over, your shift was not. But for now the team would rest, and hope to be recharged enough when the next bell rang. For you the day was perfect, just because you had Shay by your side for the rest of your life.

Little Snowflake
Info: Chicago is a magical place in the snow, but it becomes magical for the Severide family.
Relationship: Kelly Severide x wife reader
Kelly Severide sighed heavily as he looked outside the firehouse to see the snow falling heavily. It was always nice to see the snow cover the grounds, but as an emergency service worker, Kelly hated it. The roads always became slippy, regardless at how often they were cleared, which meant that multiple accidents were bound to happen. Severide had lost count at how many 51 had been called to today, but it was far from his mind with all the changes about to happen.
Kelly and Y/n were due to become parents in the next few weeks. The couple had hoped the snow would be gone before y/nâs due date, but it seemed unlikely the closer they got to the date. Kelly had told his wife to be careful with the change of weather, but y/n was always an anxious person when home alone, and with her leaving work to spend time relaxing before the baby, she often found herself walking to the firehouse to make dinner for the crew. Kelly would always scold her for walking to the house in the freezing temperatures, but y/n made the point of it being good for dilation.
Kelly smiled when he seen the familiar figure waddling up the driveway, a shopping bag in one hand. Seeing y/nâs slow steps, Kelly threw on his coat before walking down the driveway to meet her. Y/n smiled up at him as he took the bag from her, and rolled her eyes as Severide wrapped one arm around her waist, the other taking her hand along with the bags to help her walk.
âKelly Iâm fine walking on my own.â Y/n whined, shaking her head at her husbands antics. âI donât want you to slip. It can harm the baby.â Kelly stated, shaking off her concerns as they made it inside the building. âI think the baby will be just fine with your genes.â Y/n remarked, allowing Kelly to take her coat and scarf, opting to keep on her hat. âHi.â She smiled, pecking Kelly on the lips.
Kelly smiled as he moved to drape their coats over his chair before taking the bag once again as his wife mae her way into the canteen. Y/n smiled as she heard the firemen cheer when they seen her, Kelly just laughing as he moved to place the bag on the table.
âHey, our chef is here.â Hermann stated, pointing at the very pregnant woman in front of them. âWhat we have today?â Mouch asked, looking over the couch to see her. âI was thinking some lamb stew, something easy.â Y/n shrugged, accepting the hug Stella gave her. âYou didnât have to come, we could of made something ourselves.â Stella scolded the woman, placing a hand on y/nâs very swollen stomach. âI like doing it. Nothing else to be doing with Kelly hiding all the babies stuff that needs to be built.â Y/n spared a glare to Kelly who put his hands up in surrender. âForgive me for not wanting you straining yourself.â Kelly stated. âWe havenât even got the babies crib built yet.â Y/n remarked, causing everyone to chuckle.
Silence filled the room as the bell was heard, the womanâs voice coming through with the information needed. Y/n laughed lightly as the crew stepped into action, Kelly kissing the side of her head as he rushed by her. Tapping him on the arm, y/n watched the fire trucks drove off before moving to start prepping the food.
--
The house was smelling of fresh cooking when Kelly returned from their newest case. Rubbing his hand over his face he followed the rest of the firefighters into the canteen where they could see y/n finishing up sorting the plates and basket of rolls. Smiling slightly at her, he moved towards her to pull her into a hug, only for her to move away from him on the last second.
âClean up first.â Y/n scrunched her nose as he looked at his sooty face. âNot even a hug.â Kelly mocked hurt. âNo way are you touching me while your all dirt.â Y/n stated, causing Kelly to sigh jokingly. âCome on, dinners ready.â
Chuckling lightly Kelly moved away from his wife and quickly hit the showers. It wasnât long before he returned, and y/n happily gave him a hug when he approached her. Rubbing his hand on her bump he gave her a quick kiss before moving to grab two plates. Following y/n to an empty chair, he dug into his food, very little conversation happening as each firefighter dug in.
The wind could be heard outside as y/n and Kelly made their way out to the front, Kelly helping y/n put on her coat before turning to grab his own. As he turned he seen y/n grimace slightly, hand her stomach, and he frowned as he walked towards her.
âYou alright?â He asked, placing a hand on her back. âYeah just baby kicking like crazy latelyâ Y/n sighed, rubbing her stomach lightly. âDo you want to sit down for a minute? Iâll just tell Boden Iâm walking you home.â âNo Kelly, Iâm fine. Just give me a minute to catch my breath and then I can..â Kelly cut him off only to stop mid conversation. âYou been getting these often?â Kelly asked, concerned for her and the babies wellbeing. âThis morning but than they went away. Iâm sure theyâll settle in a minute.â Y/nâs voiced pitched higher as she felt another strong kick, followed by the feeling of water on her legs. âI think your waters just broke.â Kelly spoke, panicking slightly at the puddle on the ground. âNo, no, Iâm sure itâs false labour.â Y/n spoke, trying to convince herself. âWaters donât break at false labour babe.â Kelly stated, grabbing y/nâs arm to help her sit down. âWeâre not ready, we havenât even a crib for them.â Y/n stated, cringing as she felt another contraction. âHey, hey, breath, itâs okay. Weâll get through this okay. Stella.â Kelly called out, crouching down to be at y/nâs eye level.
Hearing Kelly shout her first name, Kidd ran out, stopping as she seen Kelly crouching down in front of y/n. Y/n had her head on Kellyâs chest, trying to ignore the waves of pain. They werenât that close at the minute, so Kelly knew they had time, but he wanted to get to the hospital before the bad night fall of snow began.
âWe need to get y/n to the hospital.â Kelly stated, and Kidd nodded.
---
Kelly had stayed by y/nâs side throughout the journey to the hospital. Brett and Kidd both went with them with the weather conditions unknown. Every now and then they heard y/n cry out in pain, but Kelly kept holding her hands, allowing her to squeeze them as hard as she wanted. On arrival, y/n was brought straight to the maternity ward, where Maggie was waiting. Having been y/nâs nurse throughout the pregnancy, she wanted to be there to help y/n when needed.
The birth wasnât quick, but it was smooth sailing, and Kelly felt like he had little time to think before Maggie shouted that they could see the head. When Kelly let go of y/nâs hand to grab himself a drink, y/n had taken to hitting his arm multiple times, causing him to give up and turn his full attention to her. His hand was numb by the end but he didnât care so long as mother and baby were okay.
âItâs a healthy baby boy. Congratulations.â Maggie announced as cries were heard, and y/n struggled to catch her breath as she laughed lightly. âYou did it y/n.â Kelly smiled down at her, tears evident in his eyes. âA baby boy.â Y/n cried, watching as the baby was wrapped in a blanket. âWould dad like to do the honours?â Maggie asked, offering the surgical scissors to Kelly. âWhere do I?â âJust here where the clamp is.â Maggie coaxed his hand to the umbilical cord, helping him cut it.
Kelly smiled as he caught his first look at his son before grinning at y/n. Leaning down to kiss y/nâs head he moved her hair back from her forehead before the baby was hand to him. Y/n watched tiredly as the nurses worked to tidy her up.
âYou just need two stitches.â Maggie noted, allowing the doctor in. âHeâs perfect.â Kelly stated, bringing the baby over to his mother. âI never thought I could love any more than I do now.â Y/n spoke as Kelly placed the babe in her arms. âWhat are we calling him?â Maggie asked, moving to admire the baby. âNicholous, Nickolous Kel Severide.â Y/n noted, Kelly nodded in agreement. âPerfect, just like his mother.â Kelly nodded, kissing y/nâs head as she looked down at the baby in her arms.

Pizza Party
Kelly x reader
WC: 1200 or so
A day late for @hurtcember day 14 Near Death
--
Movement on the apron caught Joeâs attention. He looked over to spot two legs and a mountain of pizza boxes.
âSomeone order lunch?â said a feminine voice from behind the tower of cardboard.
Kelly looked up just in time for her to poke her head out to the side of her stack. âHey, you! I didn't know you were coming by today.â He stood and took half the stack to hand off to Joe before taking the rest himself.
After leaning in for a quick kiss, she explained. âI was bored. Figured I'd bring some lunch.â
Capp chimed in from his spot at the squad table. âHow many people are you planning to feed?â
Y/N laughed. âToo much pizza is always best. Who doesn't love leftovers?â
They headed inside and toward the kitchen. âLunch!â she announced loudly. âI've got deep dish, thin crust, meat lovers, veggie lovers, pineapple, and one extra cheese.â
There were cheers and chair legs scraping across the floor as everyone quickly lined up to get the pizza.
Mouch scoffed. âWho eats plain cheese?â
Kelly laughed as he wrapped his now free arm around Y/N. âShe does. The pineapple one is also for her.â
âI'm with her on that one.â Mills chimed in, âPineapple on pizza is good.â
âYes! Thank you!â She lifted her hand for him to high five. âBut don't eat it all. It's my dinner for later, too.â
As everyone started to settle at the table with their food, Sylvie entered. âHey! Severide didn't tell us you were coming today.â She pulled Y/N into a firm hug.
âHe didn't know. I decided to surprise everyone,â she explained, squeezing Sylvie tight.
They both made a plate and sat down at the table with everyone. She picked the spot next to Kelly and he leaned over and kissed her.
âThanks for coming. Love you.â
âI love you, too.â Y/N smiled at him.
An hour later, as Y/N began to combine pizzas into fewer boxes, she wobbled as she was overcome with light headedness. She grasped the counter to steady herself.
Nearly instantly, Kelly was at her side. âYou alright?â
She nodded. âI think so. Just got a little woozy.â
Kelly wrapped his arm around her shoulder. âHow about we go sit down for a minute.â
She took a step toward the couch then collapsed. Kelly caught her in time to prevent her from hitting the ground. âWhoa, hey, Y/N!â
Mills was beside him a moment later. âLay her down.â
Once Kelly had laid her gently on the floor, Peter leaned down to check her breathing then pressed his fingers to her neck to check her pulse. âNo pulse. Brett!â
Sylvie was already running toward the ambulance for the jump bag and monitor.
âNo, no, no. You stay with me, Y/N.â Kelly pleaded, taking her hand in his. âYou hear me?â He watched in horror as Peter started chest compressions.
Sylvie was back quickly and kneeling beside Kelly. âI need you to back up so we can work.â
Matt bent down and grabbed Kellyâs shoulder to pull him away. âThey've got her.â
âWhat the hell even just happened?â Kelly wiped tears off his face. âShe was just fine and thenââ He couldn't even finish his sentence.
Sylvie had hooked her up to the monitor and defibrillator pads while Peter continued compressions. âStop compressions.â
âStill no pulse,â Peter announced.
âShe's in v-fib,â said Sylvie. She pressed a button to charge the defibrillator. âClear.â
When she pressed the button to discharge the shock, Y/N arched off the ground and Kelly squatted like he could manage to stay standing any longer.
Peter watched the monitor. âStill in v-fib.â He resumed compressions. âLet's try again.â
Sylvie nodded. âCharging to 360. Clear.â
Peter raised his hands as Sylvie discharged another shock.
The monitor beeped. Slowly at first then quicker and the entire room breathed a sigh of relief.
âSinus rhythm,â Sylvie pointed out.
Peter nodded. âPulse is strong. Let's get her to Med.â
As they lifted her to the stretcher, she groaned. Kelly ran a hand softly over her head. âCan you open your eyes, sweetheart?â
She whimpered. âOw.â
âWhat hurts?â Sylvie asked.
She slowly opened her eyes. Looking around she frowned, âWhat happened?â
Kelly brushed hair back from her face. âYou collapsed. Mills and Brett are going to take you to the hospital.â
âWhy does my chest hurt?â
They all headed towards the ambulance as Kelly explained. âUh, your heart stopped. They had to do CPR.â
âWhat?â She gaped at him.
âIt's going to be okay,â Kelly tried to soothe. âThe doctors will figure out what happened. Just try to relax.â
They quickly loaded her into the ambulance and Peter headed to the front to drive. Kelly held her hand tightly, like he was afraid to let go.
Sylvie was sitting beside Kelly. She started an IV and wrapped a blood pressure cuff around her arm. Finally, she placed a nasal cannula in her nose for oxygen.
Y/N took a deep breath trying to calm herself and winced.
âWhat's the matter?â Kelly asked.
âIt hurts to breathe.â She whimpered. âKel, I'm scared.â
âI know. You'll be okay,â he said. âConnor will figure out what happened.â
Sylvie twisted a syringe into the IV port. âI'm giving you some fentanyl for the pain. That should help, okay?â
Almost instantly she felt some relief from the chest pain.
A moment later, they pulled up to the emergency entrance and the back doors were pulled open.
âHey, sweetheart,â Connor greeted as he helped unload you. âWhat happened?â The question was directed at Sylvie.
âSudden cardiac arrest. Nothing happened, she just collapsed,â Sylvie explained, trying to keep the emotion out of her voice. She gave a run down of vitals and advised that she'd given fentanyl before Y/N was shifted to the hospital bed.
âOkay. Let's get a CBC, BMP, cardiac enzymes, 12-lead EKG, and a chest x-ray,â Connor ordered.
The next few hours went by in a whirlwind of pokes and tests and nurses with vitals checks. Kelly was sitting beside her bed holding her hand while she fought the pull of sleep.
âI'm so tired.â
He ran a hand over her head and kissed her forehead. âGet some rest. I'll wake you if Connor comes back with anything.â
âIâI'm scared to fall asleep.â
He squeezed her hand. âYou can sleep. I promise you're safe. I won't let anything happen to you.â
Before she could succumb to sleep, Connor came into the room. âWell, I have the answer. You have something called long QT syndrome,â he started to explain. âWe need to run a few more tests tomorrow so we can figure out what the best course of treatment is. So for now, weâll get you moved up to a room and you just get some rest.â
âWhat kind of treatments?â she asked.
âMedication or an implanted defibrillator or some combination.â
When he left you started googling on your phone. Kelly stole your phone from your hand. âThat's never a good idea. Just get some sleep, okay?â
She sighed. âFine. I'll try.â Trying to get comfortable, she closed her eyes trying to get some sleep before another round of testing.
The last thing she heard was Kelly whispering, âThank you for not leaving me.â

Can you make a Matt Casey x reader story?
Matt Casey is married to Andy Dardens sister, and sheâs the PIC on Ambo and her partner is Gabby Dawson.
After the death of Andy it has been rough between Casey and y/n, they are separated but still married.
Y/n is living with Severide as sheâs still separated.
Casey is trying to do everything he can to get y/n back.
Eventuellt they get back together and are happily married.
Maybe som fluff and a bit of comfortable smut
You're my Rock
The doorbell of Severideâs apartment kept ringing for the tenth time tonight. Kelly was out tonight at the bar likely going to bring back a girl tonight or end up at her place instead. So I had no clue who would be coming to his - or should I say our apartment this late at night. Especially considering it was almost midnight.
Coming down the road staircase I shrugged one of my brother Andy Dardens old firefighter sweatshirts on and over my head. I crossed the kitchen area and unlocked the door swinging it opened, scowling at who I found standing in the hallway. âMathew, what the hell are you doing here?â
âY/n, donât shut the door in my face please. Just hear me out this time.â He raised his hands up slightly, giving me a sympathetic look.
âMathew, I know what youâre going to say. But it won't work this time.â Pushing the door closed I waited for the lock sound but h3 had stopped it with his foot. âGoodnight.â
He sent me the puppy dog eyes knowing I couldn't resist him when he looked at me like that. âItâs supposed to storm tonight. Do you want me to keep you company since Severide is out.â He knew I hated harsh storms, I had basically a fear of them starting when I was a child.
Now that my brother Andy was gone he couldn't call me and make me calm through thw night. Regardless that he had his own wife and kids to keep safe, he would still call me every time. When we were kids he would sneak into my room and we would share my bed and fall asleep. Matt Casey and I had only been married foe about to two years the day he died. Andy and Matt were best friends before they became brothers. So his death hit him almost as difficult as it had me.
âItâs a free country, Casey.â Throwing my hands down at my side I walked away from the door and over to the kitchen. Grabbing a beer out of the fridge I held it out to him, grabbing myself one in the process. âYou want a beer?â
âSure. Y/n, look I didn't come here to fight with you. I came here to get my wife back once and for all so we can start our life together like we talked about.â He took the beer and took a long drink sitting down at the kitchen table with me standing on the other side of it.
Sipping from my bottom I sat it down on the countertop. âI'm not your wife, Mathew. We're separated, remember.â
âOnly by living under different roofs.â He pointed out to me. The main reason I had moved in with Severide was because I couldn't stand to be around my husband after he had been distant when I would have my mental break downs over missing my brother.
Matt sat down his drink and stared silently at me a few good minutes. âHow many times can I say I am sorry. I'm sorry for saying that I wasn't struggling over his loss like you were.â
âYou acted like he meant nothing, Matt! You made me feel like I was grieving the wrong way because you didn't seem to miss him as much as I did.â Raising my voice I snapped at him, slamming my hands down on the countertop.
My brothers best friend got up from his barstool and round the table so we were standing directly in front of us with nothing physically keeping us apart from one another. âI need to show you something.â
âI'm not going anywhere with you.â I scoffed at the thought. Matt has attempted to win me back on a couple of occasions. Sending me flowers at the police station, leaving me a voicemail apology over my phone or even trying to get our friends Brett and Jay to talk things out with him. None of them have worked like he thought they would.
Matt suddenly grabbed me by my hips and threw me over his shoulder carrying me towards the door. âSorry honey. But you need to see this.â
âMathew Casey put me down!. I am not going anywhere with you.â I hit his back with my fists yet he rushed to put me down till we reached his car. I screamed when he gently pushed me into the passenger seat of his truck and had apparently locked it when I pulled the door handle but couldn't get out. âSo you're keeping me hostage now huh.â
He climbed into the driver's seat and didn't say another word until we walked inside the firefighter memorial building. âI'm showing you where I would go to grieve for Andy.â
âMatt, what is so important that you have to show me inside this building - is that my brother's picture?â Letting him led me by my hand intertwined with his we finally stopped walking and stood in front of a row of fire fighter pictures. Scanning over them I finally found my brother Andy among them and tears welled in my eyes.
Matt glanced over at me seeing tears in my eyes just like his own. âI'd come here to grieve over him being gone. I figured you didn't want to see me breaking down on you when you needed someone strong to come home to every night.â
âI've never seen his picture here until now.â I muttered to myself under my breath, listening to what my husband was saying.
Matt gently grabbed me by my shoulders, turning me so I was facing him. Our eyes locked on one another like our lives depended on it. âY/n, listen to me. I will never fully understand how hard it is that you lost your brother. I can understand it hurts but never the full scale of it. And I should have told you that I came here in the first place and I should have realized that you wanted me to not always be the strong one around you. Now that I know that Iâm here in front of you now saying that I am truly sorry.â
âMatt, Iâm - Iâm sorry I lost it on you. I just didnât know how to handle losing my brother. And I took it out on you when I should have thought of how his loss affects you too. Can you forgive me for all that cause I donât want you to think I hate you or something.â I sniffed through some tears. I raised my hands up, wiping away fallen tears until my husband intertwined my hands with his own.
Will reached inside his jacket pocket taking out a ring that I recognized as my wedding ring. The wedding ring was my grandmother's that he proposed to me with. âI havenât ever been able to push you out of my life. The day I met you and Andy there was no way I could go back to the life I had. So will you truly be my wife again, Y/n L/n?â
âThatâs Y/n Casey to you.â Leaning forward I connected my lips with his own where he wrapped his arms around my waist bringing me closer. Regardless of what we had faced Mathew Casey would always be my rock in hard times.

FBI
Characters: Kelly Severide x Reader, half of firehouse 51
Warnings: Brief mentions of a crime idk.
Summary: This wasn't exactly what they were thinking when an fbi agent strolled into their firehouse.
A/N: I had such a nice plan for this little beauty but then I messed up and then I remembered I had homework due tomorrow that I haven't done so please enjoy this ugly piece of writing. Kinda don't want to publish this but I need to feed you lot before I get swamped in holiday homework.

"Hey, I'm looking for a Kelly Severide."
You said, asking the first person you found. It was your first time in the firehouse and this definitely wasn't how you planned it to be but you could make this work.
"Lieutenant Kelly Severide?" The woman rose her brow, her voice coming across as soft as she looked. You couldn't deny she was pretty and taking into account her blonde hair and the word paramedic on her uniform caused your brows to rise ever so slightly.
"Oh! You must be Sylvie Brett." You smiled, holding out your hand for the paramedic to shake which she did with much confusion and slight fear. "Agent Y/N Y/L/N."
"You work for the fbi." She stated, fidgeting with her fingers once your hands were released. It was clear she was shocked and you could understand why; your gun in its holster, your shiny golden badge and the bold yellow letters printed on the back of your government issued jacket.
"Yes I do." You replied with a tight lipped smile, annoyed that your job was the first impression everyone at the firehouse would be getting from you; these men and women were family to Kelly and greeting them for the first time ever in your uniform wasn't what you wanted.
Before Sylvie could fully shake off her shock, someone butted into the conversation, having spotted and recognising you.
"Y/N, you're back." Matt smiled, his arms wide inviting your for a hug which you immediately accepted. The captain was the one person in Kelly's life that knew of your existence since there was no hiding you from his roomate, especially since your stay became more permanent.
The hug was what caught everyone's attention. Sylvie talking to someone was normal but Matt hugging a stranger wasn't, hence all the heads turning and when all their eyes widened, you weren't surprised.
"Feds." Two men whispered in sync upon laying eyes on you, the others stood out of their seats and came around to you in the middle of the common room.
"What do the feds want with us now?" One man asked, crossing his arms with an attitude that you could smell from a mile away. Maybe it was his accent or it could've been his snarky tone which got him a quick reprimand from the captain but you knew his name.
"Christopher Herrmann, right?" You pointed at him, your smile brightening when he did a double take at the name you guessed correct.
"It's probably creepy that I know all your names and I really wished that we could've met under better circumstances but I will explain everything." You said, sheepishly smiling at the very confused group of firefighters.
"Y/N! What are you doing here?" Kelly noticed you from afar, it was hard not to recognise the three yellow letter the second he turned the corner.
Within seconds, Kelly enveloped you into his arms and despite the reputation that you wanted to maintain, you folded and accepted the hug, wrapping your arms around his waist, contently inhaling the comforting scent that always followed your boyfriend.
"Okay I'm sorry but who are you?"
"Agent Y/N Y/L/N." You replied automatically, not even thinking about leaving out the agent. Biting the inside of your lip, you internally cursed at yourself.
"She's my girlfriend." Kelly smirked, his arm happily resting across your shoulders where he could keep you close to him. "Whose actually supposed to be in Texas right about now, what happened?"
"Everything's fine. We apprehended our guy earlier than expected and there might've been a gunfight and there's a small possibility I was in the middle but a graze is nothing." You said with ease since it was your job and you loved everything it entailed but to your crowd, you seemed like a lunatic and a hero combined in one.
"You're kidding." Kelly looked down at you in concern, his heart rate picking up at the mere thought of you getting hurt, even if you brushed it off as a papercut.
Before you could explain further that a graze inflicted zero pain, a man you could name purely based off the aura that surrounded him entered the common room.
"Agent, what can we do for you?" The tallest man came forward and asked, his hands shaking yours before they were on his hips. From his stance and the way his voice was so gentle but commandeering made it easy for you to deduce his position in the firehouse; it also helped that Kelly continuously boasted about the men and women of 51.
"I'm sorry for interrupting your day chief." You firstly apologised, sheepishly smiling at the firefighters who were shocked at Kelly's arm still wrapped around your waist. "I need nothing but a few minutes with lieutenant Severide and I'll be out your hair."
"Don't be silly." Kelly shook his head, looking down at you with a slight frown. "Why don't you stay for lunch, you can't just appear out of nowhere and not eat with us."
"I have so much paperwork I left behind. My boss will have my throat if they're not done." You tried fighting Kelly but he looked at you with such big eyes that you wanted to drown yourself in and a slight pout was making itself known and before you knew it, you were caving in.
"Alright, just a few bites and then I have to go."
It was safe to say, some feds were okay.

Casual (k.s.)
Fandom/Characters: Chicago Fire - Kelly Severide x Fem!Reader, Matt Casey
Word Count: 2.6k
Summary: Agreeing to a friends with benefits deal with Kelly Severide to blow of some steam after shifts seemed like a great idea in the beginning. What happens when one of you starts to catch feelings?
Warnings: 18+ (no actual smut written but don't read if implication of it makes you uncofmy) - slight ooc kelly? hurt/comfort, mention of child death, fires, angst, pet names, fluff, implied smut, cursing, mention of sex, drinking, arguments, kissing, happy ending
a/n: iâve been a matt girl since the moment i started watching chicago fire but recently iâve been obsessed with kelly so this fic is a result of said obsession! also this was a bit rushed so ignore that lol but it was kinda inspired by the song casual by chappell roan so if you want, give it a listen while reading :) oh by the way the gif??? itâs gonna be the end of me- my god. anyways, enjoy <3
You were at Mollyâs, nursing your third glass of wine for the night, hoping to forget about the terrible shift you just had.
It wasnât supposed to be this way. It was supposed to be a quick in and out, but the universe had different plans. Thinking back, you start wondering what had gone wrong.
Truck and Ambo were called to a small fire at a local café. At first, it seemed like a minor incident, just burnt toast that had accidentally caught fire. What you hadn't realized, though, was that one of the stoves had been left on accidentally, causing gas to slowly leak out.
Upon arrival, your Lieutenant, Matt Casey, instructed Otis and you to escort everyone from the sitting area. Fortunately, there were only a few customers that day, making your job easier.
As you began ushering everyone out, a mother approached you and expressed concern that her six-year-old daughter was still inside. You asked Otis to stay with her before assuring her that you would locate her daughter.
Once the building was evacuated and Herrmann was preparing to hose down the kitchen, you radioed in about the missing girl and announced that you were going back inside to find her. Casey advised you to hurry up before the situation escalated making you nod and rush in.
Heading back in, you immediately began searching for the little girl. You called out to her, but there was no response. After checking the bathroom, you noticed her unconscious form lying under the sink. Your heart sank. You quickly checked her pulse and realized how faint it was. You removed your mask and placed it on her, hoping it would help her breathe. Once the mask was on, you swiftly picked her up and hurried towards the exit.
Passing by the kitchen, you didn't notice how the stove was on. You should have. You don't know how you didn't. It was your job to notice these things but you were in such a rush that it slipped your eye. The realization only dawned on you when you heard Herrmann yelling for everyone to exit the area because of leaking gas and by then, the explosion had already occurred.
The impact sent you stumbling backward, causing you to tumble to the ground with the girl in your arms. Caseyâs voice crackled through the radio, but the ringing in your ears muffled the words. You couldn't seem to stop coughing and your head was throbbing making your vision start to blur. You felt yourself succumbing to the darkness, but you fought to regain your composure and struggled to stand up.
Once the initial shock had worn off, you quickly got up and made it to the exit, disregarding your injuries, only concerned about passing the girl off to Gabby and Shay. They tried their best, you know they did, but the girl was dead before you even got to them. The explosion had killed her. The explosion you should have seen coming.
That six-year-old girl passed away, and it was all your fault.
You were snapped out of your thoughts when you heard the sound of your name. It was Kelly, the Lieutenant of Rescue Squad 3, and one of your closest friends, whom you were currently sleeping with.
A few months ago, after a particularly difficult shift, Severide and you had accidentally ended up spending the night together. Since then, you two agreed to keep it casualâ no strings attached, friends with benefits, if you will. Both of you promised to break it off if one of you started to catch feelings and that seemed reasonable to you.
âRough day?â He asked taking a seat on the barstool beside you.
âSix-year-old kid died in my arms, so I'd say so.â You say looking down at your glass, twirling the liquid around mindlessly.
âWanna talk about?â
âNope, but I do want to get out of here. Your place? Itâs closer.â You glanced at him, and he caught on to what you meant in an instant; you needed to let out your frustrations.
He nodded as you downed the rest of your wine and you two headed back to his apartment without any further questions.
You woke up the next day with an arm draped over your torso. You didnât think much of it until you realized whose arm it was.
Shit.
You had never stayed over. You guys had never spent the night together to keep the feelings at bay. This was uncharted territory. So to say this was going to be awkward would be an understatement.
You attempted to quietly pull his arm away without waking him, but as soon as you made contact, you noticed him starting to stir.
âGood morning baby,â he voiced, groggily.
âMorning Kell,â You replied, blushing at the unexpected name.
âHow are you feeling?â He asked, referencing the reason you were at the bar in the first place.
âBetter.â You replied as you turned to face him. âThank you.â
He didn't say anything, instead simply pulling you in for a quick kiss, letting you know he was there for you.
After pulling away, you decided it was time to get up. Popping the little bubblle you were in and ending the moment you shared.
âI'm gonna get dressed and head out, I didn't mean to stay over- just got carried away. I know we don't do that so I'll leave, sorry.â
âY/N wait up-â He says, catching your attention.
âYeah?â You turn around to look at him.
âI don't mind that you stayed, I know you had a tough day yesterday so it's fine. Make yourself at home sweetheart.â
The nickname caught you off guard once more. It wasn't unusual for him to shower you with praise and call you these names during sex. But afterwards? He'd never spoken to you that way and the sudden change was putting your heart in a whirl.
You sighed trying to regain your composure. âYep, thanks. I'll uhh⊠Iâll see you at shift.â You brushed him off, smiling.
Since that day, the dynamic between you two has shifted noticeably. Others at the firehouse have started to take note of it as well. He's become more attentive. Making sure he has a meal saved for you when you're too busy to eat, accompanying you home from Molly's when you've had a few drinks, and checking in on you after difficult calls.
It wasn't just him, though. Youâve been overly caring with him too, more than a friend should be. When he discovered he had a half-sister, you stood by him. You supported him in reaching out to her. And when she was going through a rough patch after her kidnapping? You were the one on the phone talking her down when she made the decision to move to Colorado.
After all your help, his mother even invited you to her house as a token of gratitude. You never intended to become so involved with him and his family, it changed how you saw him.
You heard the rumors, you knew he was a playerâ a womanizer who didn't care about anything except his pleasure. But witnessing his interactions with his family alongside the kindness he's been treating you with recently? It was coming to be harder and harder to view him as selfish and uncaring.
The line between friends and lovers was becoming increasingly blurry. Yet you were still trying your hardest to avoid the development of feelings because you knew once you crossed that threshold, there was no going back.
You were walking towards the kitchen when you caught Casey and Severide engaging in conversation by the coffee pot.
You didn't mean to eavesdrop but hearing your name leave Mattâs lips made you stop dead in your tracks.
âWhat's going on between you and her?â He asked.
âNothing. Itâs all casual. She's nothing more than a friend, Case. We're not together.â Kelly replied, a little too firmly.
Ouch.
You knew nothing was going on between the two of you but hearing that coming from him? It hurt more than you'd like to admit.
You imagined sharing an apartment, perhaps a year or so from now and spending the coming years wrapped in each other's arms, building a family. You chuckled to yourself at the fact that you even thought that was a possibility at some point. Realizing now how naive it was to believe he would ever view you as anything more than a fuckbuddy. Oh, how you loved being stupid.
You spent the rest of the shift avoiding him. It wasn't fair to him; after all, he didn't know you had overheard. Your feelings were your problem, and it wasn't right to act as though he were responsible. Yet, facing him felt impossible without making a fool of yourself.
You found yourself at Mollyâs again. Downing shot after shot. You knew you were way past your limit but the lack of Kelly Severide-related thoughts in your brain was encouraging you to continue.
It had gotten to the point where you noticed Herrmann giving you shots of water instead but you were too far gone to care.
You were about to request another real shot when you felt a presence next to you. You turned your head to the side and saw the one person you were trying to forget about.
Lieutenant Kelly Severide.
âYou've been avoiding me.â He said, less of a question and more of a statement, keeping his eyes on you.
You hated how small he made you feel, like he could read you in just one glance. His intense gaze made you look away before trying to find Herrmann. âI have not. Now excuse me, I was about to order another drink.â
âYou don't need another one.â He said, grabbing your shoulders and turning you back around to face him.
âWhat are you? My boyfriend? Weâre just friends Severide, you don't get to make that decision for me.â You wouldn't have usually been that snarky but the alcohol in your system was giving you courage you didn't know you had.
He was taken aback by your response, you were never like this with him. It was worrying him.
He tried to help you stand up, âY/N câmon let's get you home.â
You reluctantly agreed. You knew you were going to regret this in the morning but at the moment, you didn't care. He started walking you towards the exit when you pulled yourself away from him and spoke up, âI don't need a babysitter. I can walk by myself.â
âIf you actually think I'm letting you walk home, drunk and alone at this time of night, then you're crazy.â He replied casually while walking beside you.
You stopped abruptly and sighed, looking down. âWhy do you do that?â
âDo what?â He questioned, placing his finger under your chin bringing your face up to meet his.
âWhy do you act like you care?â You clarified, holding his stare, pretending his touch wasn't erupting fireworks in your stomach.
âI do care! I care more about you than you realize Y/N.â He said a bit too loudly, raising his hands in exaggeration.
âYou're not supposed to!â You shouted back.
âWhy not? Is it such a crime to care about my friend?â He replied, exasperated and upset.
There it was. The dreaded âfriend.â You knew it was coming. So why did it still shock you?
âI- I can't do this Kelly- I'll just call a cab to take me home, you don't need to walk me. Forget anything happened.â You said turning around, ignoring his objections, calling your name.
You spent your days off moping around. Kelly had called you multiple times and left countless messages, but you couldn't bring yourself to respond. You knew you were being childish, but it didn't matter. The thought of going back to work and having to face him filled you with dread but that was a problem for later. Right now, you have errands to run.
While you were getting dressed, you absentmindedly opened the drawer meant for Kelly. You couldn't avoid him, he seemed to be everywhere you looked. Your phone, your workplace, and now, your dresser.
You sighed. The fact that you two had separate drawers designated for one another at each other's homes, slipping your mind completely. Is that something friends with benefits did? Did they keep clothes at the otherâs place to âmake it easier for them to get dressed?â
Your thoughts were cut short when you heard a knock at your door. You weren't expecting anyone but opened the door regardless not guessing who youâd see on the other side.
You found yourself face-to-face with none other than the man who had been plaguing your thoughts nonstop. However, after avoiding him for so long, you didn't know what to say or how to act. You felt like youâd never been in such close proximity with him before, it was suffocating. So you simply stood there until he eventually spoke.
âWe need to talk.â He stated simply.
âWhat's there to talk about?â You asked, avoiding his eyes.
âThis. Us.â He said, motioning between the two of you.
You finally took a good look at him, you noticed the heavy bags under his eyes and the weary slump of his shoulders. It was clear that he was utterly exhausted, as if he hadn't slept at all in the last few days. And the simple thought of the reason for his exhaustion being you, made you feel terrible.
âSeveride-â You couldnât let this drag on for any longer without hating yourself, so you took a deep breath and continued, âI think we should end this arrangement that we have.â
âWhat?â He furrowed his brows.
âWe agreed that once one of us starts catching feelings, we'd end it. So let's end it before it gets messy and hurts either of us more than it should.â You tried closing the door once you were done speaking but he quickly squeezed himself in, preventing your attempts at pushing him away.
âWhat are you doing?â You asked following him into your apartment.
âThat's not fair!â He exclaims, âYou don't get to ignore me for days and then just end our relationship and shut me out.â
âThis was hardly a relationship.â You scoff, âBut, what did you want me to do Kelly!?â You matched his volume, watching as he paced in the middle of your living room.
âI don't know, maybe talk to me about how you're feeling!â He said, tone dripping with sarcasm while glaring at you. If looks could kill, you'd be six feet under right about now.
âOh, that's really mature coming from you! Mr. Expert at communication.â You replied with just as much pettiness as you could muster, stepping closer to him to prove a point.
He stood silent for a moment before taking a deep breath and approaching you, âMaybe you're right, maybe we do need to end this thing we have. I just thought we cared about us enough to at least talk it out.â
The two of you now stood face to face, your breaths labored and eyes locked in an unbreakable gaze. Silence enveloped the space between you, the tension so thick that it felt tangible like it could be sliced through with a knife.
âIâm sorry.â You said quietly. âI shouldn't have ignored you and I also shouldn't have just sprung that on you.â
Once you noticed he was letting you continue, you went on, âI just realized that I couldn't be as âcasualâ about our relationship as you are anymore. I tried to hold my tongue and ignore the feelings I have for you, but it was getting harder Kelly. Nothing about our deal has been casual for weeks now and it was starting to affect me.â You finally let out.
He took in your words, shaking his head. âIt hasn't been casual for me either Y/N. I love you, and have for a very long time.â
The force of his words hit you like a physical blow. Love? How did he claim to love you when he had not only never hinted at such feelings before but also dismissed Casey when he asked about it? You were confused and it was evident on your face with the way you looked at him, shell-shocked.
âYou love me? But you told Casey that there was nothing going on between us and-â
You were quickly cut off by his hands on your face, pulling you in. The intensity of his lips against yours short-circuited your entire being. It took a moment for your brain to register what was happening, but soon you found yourself reciprocating his kiss.
While you and he had shared kisses in the past, this one was different. It wasn't hurried like your usual kisses but instead filled with a deep sense of passion, tender and slow, and brimming with love and adoration for one another.
He placed his hands gently on your waist, drawing you closer, deepening the kiss. You raised your arms, threading your fingers through his hair, feeling the slight tug as you did. It was as if your lips were pulled together by an irresistible force, making it difficult to part.
You wanted time to freeze in that beautiful moment so you could stay in it forever. You wished to remain embraced by him indefinitely. His touch was tender and affectionate, brimming with care. It felt as though both of you had shed all your worries and were completely immersed in the love surrounding you.
You tentatively ended the kiss and gazed into his eyes, which stemmed a love you had never felt from him before. For the first time, they didn't overwhelm you or make you feel small; instead, they enveloped you in a sense of comfort. And in that fleeting beat, his eyes spoke volumes even when his words remained silent.
âI love you too.â You said, sharing his sentiment, causing a grin to emit on both of your faces.
You felt like a teenager who was experiencing love for the first ever time; and you wouldn't want it any other way.

Could Be? - Jay Halstead
Jay Halstead x Fem!Reader Severide
Warnings: none
Word count: 766
Summary: Jayâs never met Serveirses sister, maybe its because she travels for work so often. But maybe they hadnât met yet for a reason. Maybe it hadnât been the right time till now.
Authors Note: You never see a woman wrestler as a job for the reader and Iâm a big fan of AEW so I put some of that in this story.

âHey Herrmann.â Jay greeted as he approached the firefighter. It was rare when the FD and the PD could get together but this giant cook out for both departments was a great way to get together.
âWhat's up Halstead?â Herrmann answered with a smile.
Jay was looking around and he had noticed a woman heâs never seen before with Kelly. Who better to ask than Herrmann. âWhoâs that over there with Severide?â
âY/n?â Herrmann furrowed his brows, whyâd he want to know that? Then again Jay was a friendly guy and probably hadnât met her yet. âSeveride's sister Y/n. Well half sister but their momâs let the two grow up seeing each other all the time. Essentially they grew up together. They're close.â
âThankâs.â Jay noddâs in gratitude as Herrmann got dragged away by one of his kids.
âDude this could be a bad idea.â Kevin shook his head already sure of what Jay was thinking. Kevin and Adam had been nearby and heard Jay talking to Herrmann, so once the firefighter left they approached their buddy.
âCould be?â Adam raised a brow in question.
âItâs Severide's sister.â Kevin clarifies as if it should be obvious.
âShe could be worth it.â Adam shrugged his shoulders, taking a sip of his beer.
âWho could be worth it?â Hailey questioned as her and Kim walked up to the guys.
âSeveride's sister.â Kevin tellâs the women, catching them up.
âYou should at least try.â Kim shrugged her shoulders.
âThank you ladies.â Jay smiled at them before heading over towards Kelly and his apparent sister.
âHey Jay.â Kelly nodded in greeting.
âSeveride. Whoâs this?â he asked, smiling.
âY/n Jay Halstead, Jay Halstead Y/n Severide Y/l/n. My sister.â Kelly introduced his sister to the detective.
âNice to meet you.â Y/n smiled, shaking his hand.
âNice to meet you to. Didnât know Kelly had a sister.â Jay smiled, shaking her hand.
âI travel a lot for work.â Y/n nodded as she gave her explanation.
âIâm gonna go grab a burger.â Kelly stated leaking the two to get acquainted.
âWhat do you do for work?â Jay asked, trying to get to know her better.
âProfessional Wrestler.â Y/n answered with a smirk.
âLike WWE?â he raised a brow in shock.
Y/n shook her head and scoffed. âNo, that's not professional wrestling, that's sports entertainment. The outcome, moveâs pulled in the ring and words they say. All scripted⊠No, I'm with AEW. Real professional wrestling.â
âIâll have to watch sometime.â Jay smiled at how passionately she talked about her job.
âMaybe you can come and see it in person sometime.â Y/n offered shyly.
âItâs a date.â Jay stated obviously hinting at the fact he was interested in her.
âWell the date would have to be after or before.â Y/n glanced at him.
âFine by me.â Jay smirked.
Y/n nodded and then looked him up and down and smirked herself. âAnd let me guess ex-military and now law enforcement.â
âDamn spot on guess.â Jay answered, looking at her impressed and shocked.
âWell itâs not hard to tell your ex-military but itâs easy to see you're not a firefighter. And this is for firefighters and law enforcement plus their families.â Y/n laughed at his facial expression.
âDetective.â Jay told her to stepping closer to her.
âYou work under Voight.â Y/n came to the conclusion.
âThe one and only. You have a beef with him to?â Jay asked, really hoping she didnât.
âNot personally. Only backing up Casey. But thatâs been settled.â Y/n tells him with a shake of her head in a ânoâ motion.
Meanwhile some of 51 and Voights team were watching from afar.
âAre you letting Halstead chat up your sister?â Herrmann raised a brow as he questioned the squad leader, confused and slightly concerned. Concerned for Halstead.
âNo harm in them just talking.â Kelly shrugged.
âItâs more than that.â Adam laughed
âI noticed. But as long as he doesnât hurt her I donât have a problem with it.â Kelly told them taking a sip of his beer.
âYou have a problem with anyone else aksing her out on a date.â Cruz looked at him with squinted eyeâs judgingly.
âNot me.â Casey smirked, tilting his head, looking all innocent.
âYeah well you're the exception.â Kelly shrugged and nudged Caseyâs shoulder.
âWhat about Halstead?â Mouch asked.
âWeâll see.â Kelly watched Y/n and Jay closely. Heâd be the first one to step in if he didnât like anything Jay did. Y/nâs his sister, you donât mess with his sister.

Can u do a Kelly severide x black reader . đ
Yes, I can, here you areâŠ

âIn Your Fireâ
Summary: When you moved to Chicago for a fresh start, the last thing you expected was to meet someone whoâd challenge everything you thought you knew about love and life. Kelly Severide, the fiery, protective lieutenant at Firehouse 51, isnât the type to make promises. But when he meets you, someone with a strength and beauty all your own, things begin to change in ways neither of you anticipated.
Warning, this is not my best work . So itâs not perfect, itâs pre-written.
Youâd always believed in second chancesâyour life in Chicago was proof of that. After leaving behind a past full of hurt and disappointment, you came here for a fresh start. It wasnât easy, but you were strong, and youâd learned to hold your head high, no matter what life threw at you.
Firehouse 51 was everything you didnât expect. The loud, proud, often chaotic team felt like a family, especially when you found yourself doing community outreach for the local youth center. Youâd always been passionate about helping others, so when they asked you to lead the mentorship program, you jumped at the chance.
It was there, in the middle of a conversation about fire safety with a group of teenagers, that you first saw him. Kelly Severide. Leaning against a wall just outside the conference room, arms crossed, eyes fixed on you. You tried to ignore the flutter in your chest. He was stunningâtall, with dark hair and a sharp jawlineâbut it was the way he watched you, as if he could see right through you, that made you second-guess everything.
You hadnât realized it, but you were still talking when he approached. His voice was smooth, almost effortless.
âYouâve got a way with them,â he said, his eyes scanning the group of teens who were now listening intently. âDidnât think Iâd see someone take charge like that so fast.â
You smiled, a bit flustered. âIâm used to taking charge.â
âYou must be,â he smirked, his tone playful, but something deeper flickered in his eyes. âIâm Kelly, by the way.â
âY/N,â you answered, extending your hand.
His grip was firm, but not overbearing. Something about the way he held your hand made you feelâŠsafe. But you couldnât dwell on it, not right now.
âWell, Y/N, Iâd love to see more of how you work. Maybe even join you next time.â
Before you could respond, the teens began pulling away, their chatter rising as they headed toward the door. You barely had time to gather your things when Kelly was back at your side.
âYou busy?â he asked, his voice much quieter this time, but no less direct.
âNot right now,â you answered, glancing around the bustling firehouse.
âWell, I was thinking we could grab a drink. Maybe you could tell me how youâve managed to get through all thisâŠâ
The moment hung in the air between you. There was something magnetic about him, and you couldnât deny the pull, but you didnât know if you were ready to let someone in againânot after everything youâd been through.
âYou sure youâre not too busy saving the world, Lieutenant?â you asked with a smirk.
âIâm never too busy for a good conversation,â he answered, his eyes intense but genuine.
You hesitated, then nodded. âAlright, one drink. But thatâs it.â
Kelly smiled, a rare, soft smile that made your heart race. âDeal.â
The bar was quiet, the evening crowd mellowed after a long day. You sat across from Kelly, the light from the overhead fixtures catching the edges of his face just right. You could feel the weight of the moment, the heat between you both, but you didnât want to rush anything.
âI gotta say, I didnât expect you to be thisâŠdifferent,â Kelly said, leaning forward slightly. âIâve met my share of strong women, but youâve got something else. Something that makes you stand out.â
You werenât sure what to say to that. You hadnât expected to hear that kind of honesty, not from someone like him. But you werenât the kind to back down either.
âWhat do you mean by âdifferentâ?â you asked, narrowing your eyes.
Kelly chuckled, but there was something vulnerable about it. âI mean, you donât come off like you need saving. Most peopleâhell, most womenâare waiting for someone to come in and fix things. But you⊠you donât need that.â
You looked down at your drink, swirling the ice in your glass. âI donât need saving, Kelly. But I guess itâs easy to think that people want to try, especially when youâre constantly on the move, trying to outrun your past.â
There it was. Your vulnerability. Something youâd hidden for so long, and yet, here it was, spilling out.
Kellyâs gaze softened, and you could tell he understood. He didnât push, just gave you the space to breathe.
âYou donât have to outrun anything, Y/N,â he said, his voice low but steady. âNot anymore.â
For the first time in a long while, you felt like you could be more than just the person trying to hold it all together. With Kelly, it was like he saw the real you. The person who was strong, but also hurt. The person who could rise from the ashes, but still needed someone to stand beside her.
As weeks passed, you found yourself growing closer to Kelly. What started as a casual drink turned into dinner dates, late-night talks, and moments that made you believe in the possibility of something real. Kelly never rushed you, never pushed, but his presence was always there, steady and unwavering.
One night, after a particularly long shift, Kelly took you to the firehouse. The air was thick with smoke, and you could hear the commotion as the team prepped for another run. Kelly led you into the back, away from the noise.
âJust wanted to show you something,â he said, his voice soft, almost hesitant.
You followed him, a mix of curiosity and nervousness swirling inside you. What could he possibly want to show you here? But when you stepped into the back yard, the sight that greeted you left you breathless.
A small, contained fire burned in the pit, the flames dancing in the night air, casting shadows against the brick walls. Kelly stepped up beside you, his arm brushing yours.
âThis is what I meant,â he said, his voice barely above a whisper. âYouâre like this fire. Youâve been through the worst, but youâre still burning. Still beautiful, still strong.â
You turned to him, your heart pounding in your chest. You could see the sincerity in his eyes, the raw emotion in his words. This wasnât just some passing attraction for him. And maybe, just maybe, it wasnât for you either.
You reached out, taking his hand in yours, your fingers intertwining. For the first time in years, you allowed yourself to believe in something more.
And as the fire flickered and burned, so did the connection between you and Kellyâstronger than anything either of you had ever imagined.

Saving Grace (18+)
Major Trigger Warning: Domestic and Child Abuse

A/N: Happy belated birthday to the anon that sent this in!
A/N 2: Yes even though this is fluff with angst there is smut so @imagine-all-the-fandoms and @talesofreading please prepare yourselves!
You had known Kelly Severide ever since you were both kids, considering you were next door neighbors. You didn't have the best childhood and needed a friend and you found that in Kelly. You two had grown up and had been there for each other through thick and thin. Through bad breakups with shitty boyfriends and girlfriends. You shut down all the rumors going around about Kelly even though you probably knew they were true especially with him being a womanizer, but you had to defend your friend and crush.Â
ââââââââââââââââââââââ
Middle school hit and your friendship was stronger than ever and you two had stayed thick as thieves no matter how popular he had become. When his girlfriend, and also the captain of the soccer team, tried to get him to stop hanging around you because she didn't like you, he immediately broke up with her. One particular night they yelling and the fighting got so bad at your house that it became physical and your father had hit you and then threw a plate against the wall, breaking it and some of it cut you. Your mother tried to stop it but your father turned on her and she looked at you with a particular look and you ran, you ran to Kelly. When he saw you and the shape you were in, he grew furious but he took you up to your room and cleaned you up and held you that night. Â
ââââââââââââââââââââââ
When high school came around your friendship and crush were still going strong. It became normal around the school to see each other with each other, so normal that his friends started becoming your friends and vice versa. Around sophomore year a particularly bad night occurred over at the Y/L/N Household. Your mother had just passed away due to some complications from the abuse your father had laid on her, the next day your father started to drink heavily starting in the morning and didn't end at all. You had just come home from school to find your father sitting at the kitchen table drinking. âAbout time you came home.â He said with a bite in his tone.
âI was at school.â You said slightly trembling. Your father looked up at you in rage.
âFrom now on you're not going to school. You're staying here.â He said not really in the right mental state.
âDad, I can't do that. I need to go to school.â You said you wanted Kelly.
âNot anymore. Now make dinner.â He said harshly.Â
âNo, Dad. I have homework to do and I promised Kelly I would meet up with him to help him.â You said and the anger flashed through your fatherâs face.
âYou're always with him. Kelly this, Kelly that. I bet you've probably fucked him you slut.â He said and that brought tears to your eyes.Â
âNo, I haven't.â You said âI'm not with him.â You added and your dad scoffed.Â
âWhatever. Now, get to cleaning this place is dirty and cooking. I'm hungry.â He spokeÂ
âNo, I need to do homework and then meet Kelly. I've told you this.â You said something must've snapped in him because he was suddenly picking up his glass and throwing it at you. It grazed you and hit the wall exploding in a million pieces and most of those cut you and you ducked for cover. Your dad stalked over to you and grabbed you by the hair and slammed you up against the wall he was yelling and threatening you. Tears were coming out fast.Â
âStop you're crying.â He said and punched you in the face and you cradled your face and that just made him grow angrier. He slammed your head into the wall and then threw you down onto the ground. He kicked you twice in the ribs, breaking some, and several in the stomach. There were plates on a shelf next to you and he reached over and pulled that down over you, they broke all over you and cut you. You were sure you were bloody and not a very good sight to look at. You were close to passing out and you just wanted Kelly.Â
âKelly.â You mumbled and your dad rolled his eyes.
âThere you go saying his name. He can't save you now.â Your dad said and then brought his boot cover foot and it connected it with your head and that brought stars to your vision. Kelly, you wanted Kelly and now. Your dad finally stopped his attack on you and then stormed away, grabbed his keys and left considering you heard his truck start up. He left the door standing wide open.
Kelly had just gotten home from his baseball practice when he noticed your car in the driveway but not your dad's. He also noticed the door left wide open and that made his stomach drop. He quickly pulled into your driveway and got out and rushed in and the scene before his eyes made his blood boil. You were laid there in a pool of your own blood and semi-conscious. âSon of a bitch.â He said to himself he made it very clear that he didn't like your dad early on. âHey, Angel. Wake up for me. Please.â Kelly said while stroking your cheek but nothing had worked. âYouâre really scaring me.â He said. You heard a voice and it sounded like Kellyâs.
âKel?â You asked, slurring your words and eyes cracking open. You saw him crouching down in front of you.
âYea, it's me.â He saidÂ
âDad-â You began but he shushed you.
âI know, Angel. I know.â He said smiling sadly and then pulled out his phone. âIâm gonna call 911. Just hang tight.â He said and you just stared at him everything sounded underwater. You could hear him talking but couldnât pay attention. Your eyes started to close âHey, hey, hey. Keep those eyes open for me.â He said but they were already shutting âY/N-â he said and the last thing you heard before you let the darkness win.
The next thing you remember was waking up in the hospital with Kelly asleep by your side. You hurt all over and you vowed to yourself that you would become a paramedic to help people in need. You tried sitting up and groaned and that is what woke him up. âWoah. Hey. Itâs ok, Angel.â He said and got up helped you lay back down.
âDad?â You asked and he smiled sadly.
âHe was found with his truck wrapped around a tree, he survived and when he gets healthy enough, he is going to prison.â He said and you nodded and then your eyes were closing. âGo to sleep, Angel. Iâll be right here.â He said and you let your eyes slip closed.Â
âI love you, Kel. More than a friend.â You said and he smiled.
âI love you too. More than a friend.â He repeated and you smiled and then fell asleep. When you woke up again, he brought up what you said and told him it was true and he smiled and told you that he felt the same way. From that day you two started to date.Â
ââââââââââââââââââââââ
When you both graduated high school you decided to follow Kelly everywhere and owed him your life because he saved your life. You ended up going with him to the fire academy and excelling through it and had graduated as a paramedic and him as a firefighter. After graduation he had proposed to you and it was an immediate yes.Â
Considering that you both had gotten engaged you both followed each other through the different firehouses and both ended up at Firehouse 51. When you got the position for a paramedic on Ambulance 61, he got his position on Rescue Squad 3 and you both were so happy. It was exciting and both were so happy.
Kelly and you had talked about kids and decided not to wait until you both were married and when it happened then it happened. You loved the thought of getting married but were happy to be engaged with the love of your life. Getting with you and getting engaged changed Kelly for the good, he stopped being a womanizer and he devoted himself to you and only you.Â
ââââââââââââââââââââââ
You both had been sleeping soundly in your own bed at your house after being off for 3 days and having a lot of fun in the bedroom trying but not really trying for a child. Your alarm had gone off at 6:30 AM and you jolted awake. When you turned over and saw the time you groaned and shut the alarm off. âIs it time already?â Kelly asked with a gravely and sleep ridden voice and you smiled and rolled over looking at him. You didnât have to go in until 8:00 AM.
âSadly yes.â You said and kissed him and he returned the kiss. âBut hey, we'll be with each other for the next 2 days.â You said and he smiled.
âThat we will, Angel.â Kelly said and kissed you rolling over to where he was pinning you underneath him. The kissing got more intense and you were planning on letting it go further but you needed to get to work before Boden had both of your heads.
âAs much as I want to continue this. We really need to get to work.â You said and he bowed his head and sighed in defeat. He knew you right.Â
âYouâre always right.â He said and you smiled and kissed him again but he continued his attack on you.Â
âKel.â You warned but he just continued his attack on your neck and then he was inching his way down your body until he got to the hem of his shirt that you stole from him. âBaby.â You moaned out and he smirked and went lower to your underwear cover pussy. He pushed your legs open and began kissing the inside of your thighs as he slid your underwear down your legs and threw them somewhere. Then he dove straight in and your head was thrown back âKelly!â You shouted but turned into a moan. Your hands went to his head he licked a broad stripe up your folds as his hands kept your thighs spread. He swirled his tongue around your entrance and then bit your clit gently and that had you letting out a pornographic moan. Your back arched pleasure and that rubber band feeling was creeping up a tall tale sign you were about to cum. âIâm gonna cum.â You warned and he quickened his pace and when he sucked on your clit and gently bit it again for the second time had you coming undone. âI'm cumming!â You moaned out and that rubber band snapped and you saw stars. You came all over his face and he was licking it up like it was his last meal. When you came down from your high, he was sitting up and lying next to you. You laid there for a few minutes catching your breath âThat was amazing.â You said and he smiled and leaned over and kissed you, you could taste yourself on his tongue.
âHave to take care of my girl.â He said after he broke the kiss and you smiled.
âNow we have to get ready.â You said and got up. He laid there watching you. Once you had disappeared into the bathroom, he and when he heard the shower running, he got up and smirked. He stripped off his sweats and underwear leaving him nude. He walked into the bathroom and when you heard the shower door open you smiled.
âJust couldnât stand it could you?â You asked and he smirked.
âHow can? Especially knowing my sexy fiancĂ©e is in here all alone and may need some assistance.â He said and you laughed as he started to finish what you had started and then it was your turn to help him. As you were soaping him up and rinsing him off you got down to his very erect and noticeable hard on, you smirked.
âWant me to help you with that?â You asked and he smirked.
âI would never say no to you.â He said and you smiled and he helped you ease your way down once he knew what you were doing. All soap was gone and both of you were clean but you always did enjoy standing there under the hot water. Your hand traveled down to his cock and pumped it while you kissed the tip and kitten licked it and that had him moaning. âOh, Angel. That feels so good.â He said and you smirked and took the tip into your mouth and swirled it with your tongue and then you started moving your head up and down. Kellyâs head was thrown back in pleasure. One hand went to your head and the other braced himself on the shower wall. âAngel.â He moaned out. You kept changing your speed and then you hollowed your cheeks and took him deeper until he hit the back of your throat. You breathed through your nose âIâm close, Y/N/N.â He said and you knew it was true especially when your other hand that wasnât on his cock went to his balls you felt them tightening up. What did him in was when you squeezed his cock and his balls at the same time âIâm cumming, Angel.â He moaned out and then his thick load shot into the back of your throat and you swallowed it all. When he was done you slowly drug your mouth off his cock and released him with a pop. He helped you stand up and kissed you tasting himself. You smiled at him âThank you, Angel.â He said and tucked a piece of wet hair behind your ear.
âAnytime babe.â You said and then you both were getting out and getting ready. Once everything was ready to go you looked at your phone 7:20 AM it read and your eyes bugged out of your head.Â
âWhat is it, Angel?â He asked when he noticed your expression.
âWeâre gonna be late.â You said and he smirked.Â
âThen let me drive.â He said and you groaned but agreed. You both walked out to his Jeep and he booked it to the firehouse. 7:50 AM, you had cut it close but now you felt nauseous.
âNever letting you drive again.â You said as you grabbed your bag.
âOh, come on. I got us here on time.â He said and you just shook your head and the both of you headed in. Both of you put your bags in the locker room and went to hear the reports and once that was over your 2-day shift started.Â
6 hours into your shift nothing really exciting happened, just a few small calls that didnât require everyone to go out. You were grateful for the silent morning and not much happening because that meant you could spend time with Kelly and plan your wedding with your bridesmaids, Sylvie Brett and Grabriela Dawson and maid of honor, Stella Kidd. âSo, have you picked a color yet?â Sylvie asked.
âI have 2 picked out navy blue and sage green.â You said and she nodded.
âOh, navy blue would look so pretty.â Stella said and you smiled as you flipped through some magazines. You were mid flip when Kelly walked into the room you looked up when you saw him coming over and kissed you.
âHow is my beautiful fiancĂ©e doing?â He asked and you smiled and you could hear the girls aweing at you both and you rolled your eyes at them.
âOh hush. Iâm doing well. A little bit achy from the rambunctious patient we had last call.â You said and he gave you a look âKel, Iâm fine nothing major happened and we handled it.â You said and he eased up.
âYou know I want you to be safe on every call.â He said and you nodded and watched him walk over to the fridge and grab two bottles of water and something to snack on and brought it to you. You gladly accepted them.
âYou two are so adorable.â Gabby said and you chuckled and made room for Kelly to sit down and then you leaned into him and started flipping through the magazine again as he fed you some of his snack. âSo, you have a cake picked out?â She asked and you nodded.
âWe do. Itâs a chocolate strawberry cake.â Kelly said âItâs her favorite and I want her to be happy on her special day.â He said and kissed your temple. You smiled and played with your engagement ring.
âHey itâs your day too.â You argued and looked at him.
âYes, but to me itâs going to be all about you and celebrating you being with me.â He said and again the girls awed at the both of you and again you rolled your eyes but smiled. The wedding talk continues and Kelly put his input in. When the urge to go to the bathroom was needed you got up and he whined. âWhere are you going?â He asked pouting and you turned to him.
âI have to go to the bathroom, Babe. Unless you want to join.â You said as a joke and he started to get up but you stopped him âI was joking. Iâll be back soon.â You said and he pouted again.
âFine. Iâll miss you.â He said and you laughed.
âIâll be right back.â You said and the girls all laughed. You went to the bathroom and as you were washing your hands the bells rang signaling for Rescue Squad 3, Truck 81, Ambulance 61, and Engine 51. It must be serious if they were sending everyone out. You quickly rushed the ambulance and he stopped you before you got in and he kissed you hard and you returned the kiss. âI love you.â You said as you hopped into the vehicle.
âI love you too.â He said and then you both got in your vehicles and then you were off to the call. The call was made by a bystander that had witnessed a gang fight had taken place and there were some casualties but also some that needed medical attention as well as a fire that had broken out due to a bullet hitting a gas tank of a car. Intelligence was also called since it was their case they were working on. You were quick to jump out when the ambulance had stopped. Boden gave orders and everyone got to work. You, Sylvie, and Gabby along with Herrmann, Otis, Kelly, Brian and Peter moved people that needed serious attention to one place and the ones that didn't move to another then the deceased to another with sheets laying over them. Intelligence and other police officers were booking left and right. You had just finished with one patient when Jay grabbed your attention.Â
âHey, Y/N! I need you over here!â He said and you rushed over with your bag. When you got there a man in his mid-20s was lying unconscious on the ground but breathing. You knelt down next to him and Jay. Jay was waiting to do anything to help.
âSir, can you hear me?â You asked while taking a listen to him and everything sounded normal. You still hadn't gotten a response so you made your hand into a fist and rubbed his sternum. That definitely got a reaction out of him because before Jay could stop him, he had grabbed a knife that was in his back pocket and drove it first into your stomach. At first you didn't feel it and Jay was just shocked. You Felt it when the knife pulled out and found its way into your ribs. Jay took action and was quick to apprehend the person and cuff him. He called for someone to get the person off the ground and once they were gone Jay turned his direction to you.Â
âHey it's ok. You're going to be ok.â Jay said as he started putting pressure on your wounds.
âKelly. Want Kelly.â You mumbled out and Jay nodded and looked up looking for your fiancĂ© and when he found him, he shouted his name.
âKelly!â Jay shouted and that caused Kelly to look up and his face drained of color when he saw you on the ground with blood and Jay trying to help. He was rushing over to get to you.Â
âWhat the hell happened?â Kelly asked when he arrived and took over for Jay but Jay stayed close wanting to help his friends.Â
âI found a guy on the ground unconscious and called her over since she was available. She was checking on him and trying to wake him up and he woke up startled and took out a knife we both didn't see and stabbed her before I could do anything. He was quick and got a second stab in.â Jay said and Kelly nodded, not mad at anyone this could happen to anyone. He knew moving someone without knowing their injuries could end up making it worse for them.Â
âKel?â You asked and he looked down and saw you staring at him with wild unfocused eyes. You looked so scared.
âI'm here, Angel. I'm here.â He said and pressed harder on your wounds. Blood was starting to seep out between his fingers. âJay, go and get Sylvie and Gabby. Tell them it's Y/N. Tell them to bring the gurney and hurry.â He said and Jay nodded and went to find them.
âI'm sorry.â You said and Kelly looked at you confused.
âWhy are you sorry?â He asked
âI didn't see the knife.â You said and he shook his head.
âNobody could've seen it. You and Jay did the right thing in not moving him.â He said and you nodded and then you started coughing which brought blood and it was getting harder to breathe. âHey hey, don't you give up on me yet.â He said and grabbed your gloved hand and he could feel your ring through it. He decided he needed to be skin to skin with you so he ripped the gloves off and your diamond ring was out on display for everyone to see. âWe have so many plans, Angel. Don't leave me.â He added you so desperately tried to keep your eyes open and you were winning the fight but barely.Â
âOh my god.â Sylvie gasped and both her and Gabby got to work. The commotion caught the attention of a few others and they were quick to come over. âHey, Y/N/N. Can you hear me?â Sylvie asked and you nodded your head and looked over at her.
âKel?â You asked, losing a lot of blood.
âI'm right here, Y/N. I'm right here.â He said and your head lolled over to look at him. Then your eyes closed and your breathing stopped. âY/N! No no no no.â Kelly said and removed his hands and started chest compression and that kicked everyone into gear. Gabby put a pulse ox on you and connected leads to you and it showed a flatline and tears came to Kelly's, well everyone's, eyes. âCome on. Come on.â He said and continued CPR. About 2 minutes later your heart started beating again and he sighed in relief. Gabby started an IV and Kellyâs hands went to the puncture wounds again.
Everyone started talking and then you felt yourself being lifted up and onto the gurney by several people. You were moving and it felt like you were floating. Nothing was in focus and every sound was underwater. You were loaded into the back of the ambulance and then you were speeding away. Kelly never once left your side and nobody argued with him.
Getting to Med felt like forever but it was only a short 3 minutes but in those 3 minutes Kelly's world stopped again. Your heart was beating strong and then all of a sudden it just stopped. Gabby was quick to start CPR again. âIf we don't get her back soon, her chances to survive are low.â She said and just as soon as the ambulance pulled up to Med your heart started again. When the doors opened there was Connor and a few nurses standing there and as soon as the gurney was off the ambulance you were being wheeled away. Talking was heard but you couldn't focus on it. Your eyes were closed.Â
âKelly, you know you can't go back with us.â Connor said
âI know. Just take care of her. Angel, I'll be here when you're done. Keep fighting.â Kelly said, bending down and kissing your forehead and then your ring. âI love you.â Kelly added as tears ran down his face and you were wheeled behind the door. Kelly just stood there not knowing what to do until Otis came behind him and grabbed his shoulders and led him to the waiting room. Before they wheeled you behind the doors, they had taken your engagement ring off and gave it to him. He looked up and saw most of everyone there but nobody said a word. He looked down at your engagement ring and just started to let tears escape. He needed you.
ââââââââââââââââââââââ
âAlright I want a quick x-ray and an ultrasound then I want her prepped and quickly.â Conner said and everybody let him know that they understood and then they were on it. An x-ray was taken and the tech froze.
âUh, Conner. I might want to come and take a look at this.â He said and Connor rushed over.
âSheâs pregnant.â He confirmed âSomeone call Dr. Manning. Tell her it is an emergency.â He saidÂ
âOn it!â A nurse said and was quick to get her on the phone. In no time Natalie was rushing into the OR, she was getting the ultrasound up and running and was quick to get it on you.
âIt looks like she is 9 weeks pregnant and it looks like the knife didnât even touch the placenta but it looks like it caught her kidney.â She said âIâll stay and monitor the baby.â She said and Connor nodded and started giving directions out. The surgery was stressful but it was coming along great. âThe baby's heart rate and breathing are great.â Natalie said just about the time your heart rate was beginning to drop.
âHeart is dropping and her breathing is labored.â The surgical nurse said and that concerned both of the doctors. Then your heart monitor flatlined.Â
âStarting CPR!â Connor said and he started the chest compressions. âCome on, Y/N/N. You got a fiancĂ© that is worried sick about you and a baby to grow and raiseâ he said and you must be listening because after about 3 minutes of CPR your heart started to beat again. âOk, sheâs back! Letâs hurry this and get her into recovery.â He said calmly and they finished quickly. They had to fix your lung and remove one of your kidneys but you were going to survive.
ââââââââââââââââââââââ
4 hours is how long everyone had to wait. Your team members, who were your family, werenât going to go anywhere especially not when one of their own was fighting for her life. Kelly was a nervous wreck and he hadnât even said a word since he arrived, nobody was going to push him to talk. Boden had declared him off since it was his fiancĂ©e in there and that considered him family. Nobody had come out and whenever someone had come out it wasnât Connor and his heart sank a little more each time. The plans that you two had made and planned on making were running through his head. He thought about starting a family with you and the wedding you two were going to have. As he was thinking about it all, he remembered your diamond ring in his hand, it shouldnât be in his hand, it should be on your finger. He took one last look at it and then took his chain off around his neck and unclasped it and slid on it, he then put the chain back around his neck.
Finally, Connor came out and he stood there for a minute until he saw Kelly and the crew. He walked over to them and when Kelly heard footsteps he looked up and quickly stood up. âConnor?â Kelly asked Connor, looked at him and smiled.
âTheyâre both going to be just fine.â He said and Kelly looked at him shocked.
âBoth?â Kelly questionedÂ
âYes, Y/N is 9 weeks pregnant. I take it neither of you knew.â He said, reading the expression on Kellyâs face.
âNo. Weâve been trying but not really trying.â He said and Connor smiled. âHow is Y/N?â He asked
âWe lost her once but got her back quickly. The knife got her kidney so we had to remove that and we fixed her lung. Iâm suggesting a few weeks to a month off from work but she can do very light duty.â Connor said and everyone nodded, mostly Boden. âI can take you to her now.â He said.
âPlease.â Kelly said and Connor smiled and nodded. He led Kelly the way and while he was walking past his crew, they gave him a chorus of âCongratulationsâ. They werenât going anywhere anytime soon.
Kelly and Connor arrived at your room and he walked in and sat down on the chair. âIf something happens, please grab one of the nurses and theyâll either page me or Natalie or both of us will be here.â He said and Kelly nodded âOh and Kelly?â He added and Kelly looked up at him. âCongratulations.â He said and Kelly smiled and Connor was off. He was left there sitting with you and letting tears fall.
âYou scared me, Angel. When I saw you lying there with Jay putting pressure on your wounds, my world stopped. Then when you stopped breathing and your heart stopped twice on the way here, it scared the shit out of me. Weâre going to be parents, Angel. I donât know if you can hear me but you, Iâm so glad you chose to stay with me. I would be so lost without you. I love you so much.â He said and kissed your forehead.Â
Nurses were in and out checking on you and the baby and the crew came and saw you but couldnât stay long and Kelly understood and he knew you would understand too. Kelly wasnât going to leave your side for nothing and nobody was going to make him and Boden understood. He wanted to put your ring back on but refrained against it because he didnât want them taking it off again.
2 days had passed and you still hadnât woken up but that was to be understood it helped your body heal. They kept IVs running to keep you and the baby hydrated and it had some nutrients in it to keep you both nourished from the lack of food being eaten. It was during the night when you woke up and you looked around the room taking in the noise and where you were at. Then you looked over to your right and saw Kelly sleeping. You reached a hand over and stroked his cheek which woke him up and then when he saw you were awake, he was up with a start. About that time Connor and Natalie had come and smiled. âNice to see you awake.â Connor said and you smiled and then grimaced in pain when you tried to move.Â
âTake it easy. You just had some major surgery. We also donât want to stress the baby out.â Natalie said and you pulled a confused face.
âBaby?â You asked voice scratchy and Kelly was quick to grab the cup of water and bring the straw to your lips and you drank some and pushed it away.
âYes, we did an x-ray to see where the knife had hit and when the baby popped up, I was called in and I did an ultrasound to confirm that you are 9 weeks pregnant. I take it you didnât know.â Natalie said and you shook your head but smiled âCongratulations.â She said with a small smile and you smiled back.
âThank you. We were trying for a kid but havenât been trying very hard.â You said and she smiled.
âThe knife punctured your kidney and your lung. We removed your kidney and repaired your lung. I want you to take it very easy for a few weeks and if you go back to work then itâs going to have to be very light duty.â Connor said and you nodded. He and Natalie went over a few things with you and then left. They wanted you to stay in the hospital for at least a week to make sure everything was ok and no complications and you agreed along with Kelly.Â
âWeâre going to be parents.â You said and he smiled and nodded then you looked down at your bare hand âWhere is my ring?â You asked almost panicked and he smiled and pulled it out on his chain.
âRight here baby.â He said and pulled it off and took it off and put it back on your hand where it belonged. You let out a yawn and he chuckled. âGo back to sleep baby. Iâll be here when you wake up.â He said and leaned up and kissed your forehead again.Â
As you fell back asleep you smiled and thought about your baby. The two of you were going to be parents and you couldnât wait. All you could think about is how good of a father Kelly was going to make and you couldnât wait. You couldnât wait to marry him and raise his kid with him. The three of you were going to be one happy family and that was something worth staying for.

Sin So Sweet
Matt Casey x Severide Sister Reader (Nicknamed Sunshine)
You're younger than him and Kelly's half sister. Matt should know better

You glanced out the window at the road signs flashing by. Chicago. When your friend Eliza called you about an opening in her precinct you figured the move was the next step in your life. A phone call with the house sergeant Trudy Platt later and you were packing up what little you owned into your jeep and leaving your hometown in the rearview.
You didnât have any close family. When your mom passed when you were seventeen your aunt and uncle had taken you in so you could finish high school and helped you get through the academy, after that you slid them some money for everything you knew theyâd footed out over the years that they really didnât have to foot out but did so because the only thing your dad had ever given you was his last name and a couple birthday presents.
Now you needed a new start and maybe just maybe this was it. You checked the directions to Elizaâs once more and hit your blinker to follow them. You changed lanes just fine and went under a green light. You saw the truck blast through the stop sign but didnât have time to react before it smashed into you and everything went black.
________________________
When the alarm rang through firehouse fifty one for a multiple vehicle accident the truck, rescue squad and the ambulance responded. When they rolled on scene they were met with a car that was badly dented, a mini van with a crumpled front end, the truck that was clearly the offending vehicle and a bright yellow jeep that still had someone stuck inside that would require the jaws to get them out of.
âGrab the jawsâ Kelly ordered and walked over to the jeep, trying to get a look inside. A woman was semi conscious in the driverâs seat, blood pouring out of a cut on her head âBRETTâ he hollered then leaned into the jeep. Before he could say anything however the womanâs eyes focused on him for a second and a clear look of confusion spread across her face âBenny?â then her head drooped over to the side. Benny? She called him his fatherâs name.
âKellyâ Sylvie was at his side trying to check on the woman. âShe lost consciousnessâ he told her and she nodded, looking at the jeep âI need to get in to stabilize her while you work to get her outâ he helped Sylvie in then him and the rescue squad went to work.
Once the woman was free and out on a gurney Stella walked over and leaned in the jeep, sunflowers decorated the seats and steering wheel cover. She spotted a purse down on the floorboard and whistled at Kelly âIâm checking for IDâ he nodded âGo aheadâ she picked up the purse and found a wallet then called his name again. âWhat?â he asked and she turned to license around to show him the womanâs photo and her name Y/N Severide   Â
âDo you know her?â Stella asked and he shook his head âNo, but she called me Benny before she passed outâ Stella watched the ambulance pull away then climbed out of the jeep âYou need to go to the hospital Kellyâ He nodded slowly âYeah, I need to find out just who she isâ

Everything hurt. Your head, your side, your back. You had some weird ass dream about some guy who had your dead beat fatherâs eyes, except that guyâs eyes actually held some care in them.Â
You groaned as you tried to sit up and felt a hand reach out for your arm and a voice say âLet me help youâ your eyes flew open at the very masculine voice and there was the guy from your dream âWho the hell are you and why do you look like my deadbeat father?â Â
He grinned slightly âWell hello to you too Sunshine. Y/N Severide. Can I ask who your father is?â you shrugged âBenny Severideâ he stared at you for a second before asking how old you were when you told him he nodded âYouâre about ten years younger than me, makes sense with when he leftâ you raised an eyebrow âWhat are you saying here?â he stepped a little closer and offered his hand âMy nameâs Kelly. Iâm your older half brotherâ
âI have a brother?â you all but whispered and he shrugged âYeah?â and despite the pain you were in, a small smile slipped onto your face âand just this morning I thought I had no close family leftâ a look crossed his face âNone? Who was your mom?â âPenelope Killian. She died when I was seventeen and until about five minutes ago I thought I was an old childâ you laughed.
He nodded âI responded to your wreckâ the wreck. Fuck, your jeep. âMy babyâ you whispered and his eyes widened then he laughed slightly âYou mean your jeepâ you nodded âThat was the only thing I ownedâ âYou had insurance didnât you?â you nodded then admitted âIâve never had to file a claimâ he laughed âI can help you?â you shook your head âKelly, youâve known me five minutesâ
He cut his eyes at the clock âSevenâ âExcuse me big brother. Sevenâ you laughed, holding your side then groaned âFuck i was supposed to start work mondayâ he raised his eyebrows âWhere?â âAs a patrolman at the twenty first precinctâ he grinned âI can help you with that. I work with the house sergeantâs husbandâ you raised an eyebrow âDamnâÂ
He nodded âUm, Can I call my wife? Sheâs going to want to meet youâ you ran a hand over your hair and he smiled âShe was there when you got pulled out sunshine. She works with the fire department tooâ you nodded âIn that case, call her downâ he smiled âOkâ and walked out to call her.
You sat there staring at the door. Christ, you needed to call Eliza too and where the hell was all your stuff out of your jeep? You could ask Kelly you guessed. Kelly you had a big brother and apparently a sister in law. What was life? This morning you were an only child moving cities looking for a new start, now you had a totaled jeep and a brother. You were worried for tomorrow.

The knock on your door made you cut your eyes at Kelly âWell I mean Iâd get it but..â you shrugged and he laughed âYou damn sure have the same attitude as meâ you cracked a smirk âThat a good or bad thing?â he shrugged âGuess weâll seeâ and walked over to the door.
When he opened it a pretty woman wearing a CFD uniform came walking in. She smiled at you as Kelly said âY/N this is my wife Stella, Stella this is Y/NâŠmy younger sister apparently. I called Bennyâs sister and turns out she knew about her but never told me because he told her not toâÂ
âThat bitchâ you and Stella gasped in unison then turned and grinned at each other. Kelly laughed slightly âWell you two are getting alongâ âWhile weâre at it, whereâs all my stuff out of my jeep? That was literally everything I ownâ you questioned and Stella cut her eyes at Kelly before she shrugged âI took it back to the station house after I saw the last name Severide on your licenseâ
You let out a sigh of relief âI love you already Stellaâ and she grinned. âCan I borrow someoneâs phone? I was supposed to be meeting a friend to look at extended stay motels until I could get a place and sheâs probably freaking outâ Stella handed you her phone then cut her eyes at Kelly âLetâs give her some privacyâ

The moment Stella and Kelly stepped into the hall she spun around to face him âOh my god. You have a little sister!â he nodded âAnd sheâs a cop. She was supposed to start at the twenty-first monday. I got Mouch to call Trudyâ her eyes widened âThatâs handy. How do you feel?â
He looked back towards your hospital room âShe acts like me, itâs weird how I can see that and we just metâ she slipped her arms around his waist and laid her head over on his shoulder âYou do know thereâs no way Iâm letting my sister-in-law stay at a extended stay motel without at least trying to get her to stay with us, right?â
He laughed and tucked her into his side tighter âI had some ideaâ she cut her eyes up at him and smiled âSo, we calling her sunshine still?â he nodded âDefinitelyâ and she shook her head with a laugh.Â

When you were released from the hospital two days later Stella had talked you into staying in hers and Kellyâs spare room. âAt least for a few days. Heal up, start working and get to know usâ sheâd said.
Considering you needed a ride just to meet with the local office of your insurance carrier wasnât like you could turn her down besides you wanted to get to know Kelly. He seemed genuine about wanting to know you.
You followed them out of the hospital and laughed when you realized Stella drove a jeep as well. She cut her eyes back at you and grinned âItâs not yellow but itâll do right?â you nodded âYeah, itâll doâ Kelly shook his head âAfter we meet with the insurance they should have you a rental car ready in the next day or so. Then weâll take you by the twenty first to meet Platt then if you want to meet the rest of fifty one?â you nodded âOf course. They work with you two and saved my lifeâÂ
___________________________
Considering your age you felt a little ridiculous sitting back and letting Kelly handle your insurance agents but he stepped in without a second thought and honestly Benny had never been a father and having Kelly be protective over you even in something that simple? It made you smile.
They were going to cover your jeep in full and drop a rental car off at Stella and Kellyâs until the check hit your account. After that they took you to the twenty first where you met Sergeant Platt, your house sergeant and even ended up meeting the whole of the intelligence unit. They were all welcoming even if they were a little curious about Kelly having a half sister no one had known about until now.
You were set to start work the following Monday now. You sat in the back of Stellaâs jeep as she parked in front of their firehouse. You climbed out and fell in behind her and Kelly. âIâm nervousâ you laughed and Kelly shook his head âDonât be.Theyâll be niceâ
You followed the two of them into the bays and every eye turned towards you. Your eyes landed on one person in particular. He was freaking gorgeous, blue eyes, Kellyâs height and when he smiled at you damn. He was older than you of course. Damn near everyone here was. Kelly pulled you to the front âThis is Y/N Severide. My younger half sister. Sheâs gonna be staying with me and Stella while she finds a place and Monday sheâll be starting as a patrolman at the twenty first. You can also call her sunshineâ you shot him a glare and he smirk âBe welcoming or elseâ
Everyone introduced themselves with handshakes from the men and hugs from the few women. When the man who got your attention from the start introduced himself Kelly told you âThis is the house captain Matt Casey, my best friendâ of course. Youâd get the hots for your newly founded older brotherâs best friend. That was one guy code you knew. Little sisters were off limits and Stella had already pointed out that in her words âKelly is in big brother mode isnât he?â
Matt smiled at you as he shook your hand âNice to meet you sunshineâ âNice meeting you Mattâ you told him with a small smile yourself.Â
Kelly put his hand on your shoulder âCome on. I want to introduce you to Boden tooâ you laughed and cut your eyes up at Matt âI feel like a shiny new toy to my brotherâ he grinned âHeâs proud to have you though?â you laughed lightly âFirst time in my life I think anyone has been proud to have me so I guess I should enjoy itâ and let Kelly drag you away but not before cutting your eyes back at Matt again and felt your heart flip when he was already looking at you and winked before walking away.

It was so weird having family that cared about you for no other reason than you were you. Kelly was really everything you ever wouldâve wanted out a big brother and Stella was the best sister in law that ever existed. Youâd been in Chicago a couple weeks and really it felt like youâd known Kelly for years. You were still staying at their loft while you tried to find your own place but you had finally talked them into an agreement that you were splitting bills and groceries with them.
âIâm not staying for free Kelâ youâd argued one night while you and Stella sipped wine around the island while he chopped vegetables for supper. He cut his eyes up at you and grinned when you called him Kel instead of Kelly and nodded âOk sunshine. Thatâs fineâ and that was that. It made you feel better about staying with them and in all honesty you loved staying with them anyways.

You were slowly finding your footing, even if some things were still shaky. The gaps of anger towards Benny at the fact that you truly could have known Kelly your entire life if he wouldâve just been a little less shitty. You wouldnât have been alone so many years. It wouldnât have taken you totaling your jeep for you to find a new start.
When you started at the twenty first you were partnered with Kiara OâRourke. She was a lively brunette who kept everyone on their toes. You and her got along beautifully from day one to the point even Platt and Voight commented on how well you two partnered. You had a new jeep, this one was a burnt orange color to Kellyâs delight because he still insisted on calling you sunshine and it had stuck with everyone it seemed. Even officers around the precinct were picking it up.Â
Matt still plagued your mind every time you saw him because he gave you that damn smile that spelled trouble but he was your brotherâs best friend. You werenât going to do that. No matter if he was gorgeous and older than you and could probably wear you out in all the best ways.

âSo youâre going out with Kiara and Eliza?â Stella asked as you tried to find the keys to your jeep. She whistled and held them up from the counter. You grinned and took them from her outstretched hand âYeah, itâs Elizaâs birthday and before Kelly freaks I have a strict rule of no more than two drinks then switch it outâ she nodded âGood, because you know heâd freakâ
You laughed âItâs sweet really. Iâve never had people care about me like I do nowâ she smiled âYouâre family sweetie. Weâre gonna care. Text me when you get to Elizaâs later tho.Just so I know you didnât get in a bar fight. You do have that Severide temperâ you cut your eyes at her with a smirk âWho was born one and who married one?â she nodded âGood pointâ
You slipped your jacket on and blew her a kiss âLove ya Stel. See you tomorrowâ and hurried out of the door.

âIâm telling you, the look on their faces when they realized two women took em down! Voight even cracked a smileâ you laughed and Eliza shook her head âItâs good to see the changes in it since youâve moved here Y/Nâ Kiara grinned âYeah, Iâm glad we got sunshine hereâ you rolled your eyes âI love Kelly but that nicknameâ she shook her head âYou love itâ you shrugged âMaybeâ and they both started laughing.
You glanced up and saw Matt walk in the door of the bar and a smile slipped onto your face âOhhâ they both cooed and looked around âWho did you spot?â you shook your head âNo oneâ Eliza nodded slowly then cut her eyes at Kiara âTwenty bucks says she goes to the bathroom then texts me in twenty saying sheâll be back in the morningâ you felt your face warm âWill notâ
But about that time you glanced up and made eye contact with Matt who nodded towards the barstool next to him so you looked between the two of them âIâll be right backâ they cracked up laughing as you walked away and you heard them go into another conversation.
You headed for Matt and he grinned when you slipped onto the barstool next to you âYou summoning people now Captain?â he raised an eyebrow âWell if it works officer Severideâ you grinned âHow ya been?â he nodded âDecent. This has got to be the first time Iâve managed to catch you for five minutes without Kelly or Stella aroundâ you waved a hand back towards where your friends were âOut with a couple friends or well friend and partnerâ
He nodded, eyes never leaving you âGlad to have caught youâ you moved a little closer âAnd whyâs that Matthew?â his eyes went from yours down to your lips then back up and you felt your face warm as he said âBecause you are so damn gorgeousâ you grinned âThank you, youâre pretty good looking yourselfâÂ
âSunshine, I think you need to go back to your friendsâ he said after staring at you for a minute. You felt your face fall. âAnd whyâs that?â âBecause youâre my best friendâs little sister. Youâre ten years younger than me. I should not be thinking about doing the things to you that I want to doâ you swallowed hard, your thighs clenching together just from his words âIâm not some little naive school girl Matt. What if I want you to do those things to me?â his eyes met yours and he smirked slightly âYour brother will fucking kill meâ you shrugged âNot if we donât tell himâ âDid you drive here?â he asked and you shook your head âI rode with Elizaâ âText her youâll see her in the morningâ he said then grabbed your hand and pulled you to your feet.
_____________________
The moment you stepped foot into Mattâs apartment he had you pushed against the door, his mouth against yours, his hands slipping under your shirt. âSo fucking beautiful. Wanted you from the first day Kelly introduced youâ he muttered, pulling back to slip your shirt over your head then attacked your neck, kissing the skin there and biting gently âNo marks Mattâ you gasped and he grinned against your neck âDonât want big brother seeing, do we?â as he caught your legs behind the thighs and scooped you up into his arms, forcing you to wrap your legs around his thighs.
He walked through his place and the moment he laid you back on his bed his lips were back on yours. You moaned out his name as his hands explored your body, fingers finding the buckle of your jeans. âLift your hips babygirlâ he whispered and you did what he said which earned you a smile as he pulled them down your hips.
âMatt, youâre still fully dressedâ you whined and he chuckled lightly âSorryâ and pulled his shirt over his head to toss it. He started at your left ankle, kissing his way up your leg, stopping just shy of where you wanted him the most then moved to the right leg to do the same. âMatt pleaseâ you begged, your hips lifting off the bed.
He pinned them down with one strong arm and grinned at you âDamn that patienceâ then lowered his mouth to your core. The first lick had your head falling back against the pillows and a low moan of his name falling from your lips. He plunged his tongue into you hitting that spot deep inside of you and you felt your eyes roll back slightly, fingers finding his hair to tug at the short locks. He moaned against you when you did before slipping a finger into you quickly followed by a second. His fingers worked at that spongy spot deep inside of you while his tongue and teeth worked at your clit pushing you closer and closer to that edge. When he rolled your clit into his mouth and sucked it between his teeth you felt that building pressure burst as you came, soaking his chin and the bed underneath you.
He kept working at you until you shoved his head away âFuck Matt I gotta breathe!â he rocked back on his heels, laughing âPoor thing, canât take it?â you glared weakly at him âThat was fucking amazingâ he grinned âYouâre welcomeâ you shook your head âCome hereâ he crawled up your body, kissing and biting every inch of skin along the way until he got to your mouth, claiming it with a rough kiss. âTake your jeans off Matt, fuck do you have condoms?â he nodded and reached into the table next to his bed to pull a box of condoms out.
He grabbed one and tossed the rest back in before pushing his jeans and boxers off his hips. You cut your eyes down and knew your eyes got big âFuckâ he grinned âDont worry, I wonât hurt youâ you shrugged, cutting your eyes up at him and letting your fingers explore the skin of his chest âI mean Iâd probably enjoy itâ
He shook his head and rolled the condom down his hard length before lining himself up with your opening. He looked at you for the ok and when you nodded he pushed into you causing a moan to leave you both. He caught your lips in a lingering kiss, rolling his tongue against yours. You felt his hand slip down to hook your leg up around his waist before he looked up to you. âYou can move Matt. Fuck me, hardâ you begged and he groaned, dropping his head down to your chest as he gave a deep roll of his hips into yours and when your reaction was for your fingers to dig into his shoulders he groaned âFuck Sunshine, you feel fucking amazingâ should it feel weird your brothers best friend fucking you and calling you by the nickname your brother started? Probably. Did you care? Not as long as Matt Casey was that deep inside of you.
His hips snapped into yours, hard and fast. He was damn near pushing you up with the bed with every thrust but you couldâve cared less. It felt fucking amazing. âPlease don't stop, pleaseâ you begged and he nipped at your neck âI got you babygirlâÂ
You could feel that pressure building inside of you with every snap of Mattâs hips and he must have been close too because he slipped his hand between you to rub tight circles onto your clit. Your orgasm slammed into you and you vaguely felt your nails bite into his shoulders as your legs clenched down around his waist and he chuckled, hips never slowly âThere ya go sunshine, ride it out babyâ his thrust got a little sharper, little harder until he buried himself deep inside of you with one final thrust and came with a light moan of your name.
Your heart was pounding in your ears, you felt like youâd just ran a marathon. Matt was holding himself up on one arm, looking at you âWhat?â you asked with a grin and he shook his head âYouâre beautiful dressed up but holy shit are you gorgeous all fucked outâ
You just fucked your brothers best friend. Not only that but it was the best sex youâd ever had. What the fuck were you gonna do now? He pressed a quick kiss to your lips then pulled out slowly, apologizing when you grimaced slightly âSorryâÂ
He got up to throw the condom away then came back with a warm rag and bottle of water. He cleaned you up then helped you sit up to drink the water before laying down next to you âCan I?â he asked and you nodded so he pulled you over onto his chest before laughing lightly âIf your brother kills me for sleeping with you just makes sure my headstone says died doing what he enjoyedâÂ
@desimarie12
You shook your head âYouâre insaneâ he grinned âYou must like something to be in my bedâ you rolled your eyes âI said you were insane, not that you were uglyâ which in turn made him crack up before he said âDoes this have to be a one time thing or?â you raised an eyebrow âI donât think it doesâ and he grinned âGood, do you need to go right now?â you shook your head âThey think Iâm staying with Elizaâ he pulled you over to be laying on top of him, hands spreading across your back âLucky meâÂ
