But when the truth surfaces, I need more than my Wolves for protection. I need to know that nothing will destroy my Joy. After all, when you're in love, KEEPING SECRETS is never the answer.

often i like to come up with a theory and then listen to a song to see if i can make it fit that theory (and yes usually the theory is "is this song gay?")

i want to listen to so long, london and see if it could work as a song about bearding and/or closeting in general. i think it might be too specifically about an individual and a romantic relationship to work the way the divorce imagery was a metaphor for sb and bmr in my tears ricochet, but i'm gonna give it a go! anyone else hear it that way, or as some other metaphor?

We live in a world where you can pretty much find out anything, about anybody, at any given time.  Unless of course this person purposely lives off the grid ie. no SM and in the online dating world provides no pics, no real name and uses a text to phone app to communicate off line.  

So what’s wrong with wanting privacy you ask? Nothing, BUT if you are going to enter into the online dating world and you maintain this secretive need for privacy you can bet your ass he is hiding something.

When a man messages me on line and does not have the decency to at the very least send me a pic with his message, it's a NOPE!  I get you want to keep your profile hidden, afraid of the dangers of online dating.  Well, if a man is too afraid to show his face and he doesn't have the balls to level the playing field when messaging me, he is NOT a man worthy of my time😂.  That and chances are he is UNATTRACTIVE. 100% of the time I have entertained this conversation only to be sent pictures after 3 or 4 messages are exchanged, the man is NOT attractive.  So now I have to awkwardly tell him this.  Your own fault son....you could have saved yourself the embarrassment by being honest to begin with. 

Imagine a man walking up to you in a bar wearing a paper bag over his head.  Would you smile and welcome a conversation with this man.  HELL NO!!   

It’s rude, cowardly and let’s face it down right weird lol

Now I have heard EVERY excuse in the book.  “I can’t show my face because of my job”  Oh yeah??? Do you work for CSIS?  Are you an internationally known super hero??  In which case you should not be online dating.  “I’m a fireman and can’t show my face” LMFAO are you afraid that pussy cat you rescued is going to claw your eyes out when she sees you online again?? 🤣 For those of you who don’t know, the reason Firemen and Police don’t put up their real pics is because they are dogs are are just there to fuck every women and move on.  

So, now let’s add to the mix, NOT having  a name on the profile, and only wanting to communicate via some app like KIK or snap.  THIS MAN IS NOT SINGLE!!!!!!! 

So ladies be warned.... REAL men who are confident and honest and genuine have NOTHING to hide.  If they hide ANY part of themselves RED flag it and move one.  OR do what I do, BUST THEIR BALLS and have some fun!! 🤣🤣

Problems with keeping secrets

The longer we keep a secret, the darker it becomes. Secrecy is associated with lower wellbeing, declining health and less satisfying relationships.

Secrecy has been linked to increased depression, symptoms of poor health and anxiety and in some cases the rapid progression of disease. Concealment of any secret is exhausting.

But the harm of keeping a secret doesn’t come from hiding it. The real issue is thinking about it. It’s almost inevitable, particularly if we’re continually in touch with the person we’re keeping the secret from.

For those who don’t admit they’re keeping a secret, unconsciously that isn’t true. Anyone who deals with something they’re keeping from someone else will know and will struggle to maintain, calm and peace in their life.

Anyone who keeps a secret will end up ruminating. Also, simply thinking about a secret can make us feel ill. Even the strongest willed person’s guard will eventually drop. Secrets are tiring, they can make us feel isolated and alone.

But for some of us that may not be a hardship. For example, a narcissist may often keep secrets and will spend their time in mental solitary confinement and will simply choose not to make those conscious connections. We can never know someone who spends their life keeping secrets.

Your Secrets and Being Authentic to Yourself

A few years back I began thinking about my closets and the secrets that I kept. I'm not talking about sexual closets, I'm talking straight up about secrets because ultimately that's what "the closet" is about. It's about keeping something secret that you don't want anyone else to know. But the real question I had to ask myself was; Am I keeping this secret from others or am I trying to keep it from myself? Am I trying to forget something that happened in my life that I wasn't willing to confront? Secrets can be easy to keep, but they can eat away at you in ways you never dreamed possible. These are the things in your life that you would Photoshop out of your life if you could, but you can't - so you hide them. One person might say that they had a secret abortion or another person might say their secret was being molested. One person's secret is not harder than any other, they are relative to that individual and they are just simply "hard". The most important thing when it comes to dealing with your secrets and learning to understand yourself is to confront your secrets head on. What are they? Why are you keeping them a secret? I am not saying that you should go and reveal your secrets, that is your choice. What I am saying is that you should sit down, write your secrets down - you may shred them afterward, but first stand back and ask yourself; Why is it important that I keep this secret? Is it how I may be perceived by my friends, my family or my public image? Is it to protect someone else? Does that person deserve to be protected or should they be confronted about the secret? Is it to protect my job? Is it to keep from losing someone close to me? And is my relationship with this person healthy if I can't reveal this secret? These are all questions that I confronted when I began to think about some of my own secrets and I kept coming back to a singular thought. Regardless of what the secret was or why I was choosing to keep it a secret and from whom, I needed to be authentic to myself. I needed to come to the realization that this is a part of who I am and face that fact. The thing to remember about your secrets and being authentic is that people's problems with your secrets are not your problems. They are their problems and their problem with how they perceive the world around themselves or perhaps their problem with their relationship with you. You are who you are and your secrets are not lies, they are simply something that is a part of yourself that you are choosing not to share with others. As long as you can be authentic, be genuine to yourself. Once you learn to be authentic to yourself, you will find it is much easier to be genuine to the people around you and they will start to see who the real you is and either accept it or deny it, but most importantly - it will be you.   Read the full article
