Abilities:

Sacrifical Comfort: The Caregiver carries a blanket with 3 uses per match. She comforts a selected survivor, allowing the survivor to decode 5% quicker and the fear radius grows by 20%. When dealt damage while wearing the blanket, the damage will transfer over to the Caregiver, leaving the attacked survivor unharmed and making the blanket dissapear. If the offer of comfort is rejected, The caregiver decodes 10% slower for 20 seconds. She is able to see the survivor with the blanket at all times until it is no longer in use. 

Urgency: Due to the Caregivers nature, she worries greatly for her teammates. Once a survivor is hit, they will be highlighted to her for 10 seconds. When a survivor becomes chaired, movement speed increases by 20% and time to be rescued is decreased by 15% percent. Once rescuing a teammate, she will immediately pass on a blanket if avalible. If the rescued survivor gets damaged within the following 5 seconds, both the rescued survivor and the Caregiver will recieve 0.25 damage.

Sensitive: The Caregiver has an incredibly low tolerance for paid. When dealt any sort of damage, healing time increases by 5 percent and can be stacked up to 4 times (20% total). Additionally, due to having sensitive ears, the loud sounds of the cipher machine gives her a headache. Decoding speed is reduced by 10%. If a callibration is failed, she decodes 15% slower for the next 15 seconds and the setback is 2% more than a normal survivor. Bleeds out quicker by 15%.

Empathetic Soother: Having taken care of others for the majority of her life, she is soft and gentle with her hands. Heals 10% quicker. Knowing when others are in pain, she is able to detect injured survivors from 20 meters away.

Character Introduction:

Born as a twin in a low income family with absent parents in the West Coast of America, Cecille and Caden had to fend for themselves. Cecille took upon a more domesticated home life as her twin scavenged for food when they had no money. Cecille took up a position to aid wounded soldiers to have some sort of revenue, and here is where she met a man named Silas Barnett, the two soon fell quickly in love. Dreaming of having children of her own, the couple realized that Cecille was infertile. Falling into a depression, Silas decided to move them both to a new life in Britain. When Caden was urged by her sister to join them, he declined, not wanting to leave their home and a strong dislike of Silas.

From there, Cecille and Silas opened up an Orphanage/Daycare center where Cecille slowly began to recover from the news of unable to have children. This quickly became her entire life, she loved taking care of children and finally felt fulfilled when Silas proposed to her. However this dream didn't last long. Soon, Silas realized that this hadn't been the life he wanted and urged Cecille to close the center. She obviously struck the idea down, and their relationship became extremely rocky. Silas felt as if she began to nitpick on habits around the children such as no smoking, drinking, or any behavior that would be a negative stressor for the children. On the other hand, Cecille was worried about Silas completely calling off their marriage because they constantly argued about the life they were living.

On New Years Eve, the two had a major argument when discussing New Year's resolutions. Cecille decided to send everyone to bed early (mainly because these children being extremely young), and slept in a separate room than Silas this night. Silas at the end of his patience, decided that he was going to start his new life without Cecille and leave this behind. In a fit of rage, he pours gasoline sets the entire building on fire. Everything was set off rapidly to the point where Cecille barely had time to react, thick smoke already flooding the rooms. Cecille grabbed the crying infants that she slept next to and ran outside, though most of the damage was already done. Many people quickly came to Cecille's aid with the children she held in her hands, and she impulsively ran back in to attempt to save more small children from the crumbling building. People ran after her as she made her way inside because everything was already lost. Her entire body covered in burn scars, she cried as she looked at her life burning down in flames as fireworks went off to celebrate the New Year.

Everyone but Cecille dies in this fire, even the babies she initially saved. Their young and developing lungs couldn't handle the smoke inhalation and passed shortly after. Waiting for the police report, Cecille quickly has her wounds treated and she is released to a small home that she and Silas bought in the past.

As soon as the police report gets back to Cecille, she is told that they have all the bodies accounted for except for Silas and the fire had been deemed intentional. This is solidified because neighbors outside waiting to celebrate the New Year seen Silas leave the building shortly before the fire roared. They are unable to find Silas and with this information, Cecille has a mental breakdown. Looking at her engagement ring in disgust, she yanks it off her finger and begins to have a manic episode. She destroys everything in the house, shoving everything off of countertops, tipping over tables and breaking chairs, smashing glass and windows, shredding photos of she and Silas all while screaming and crying. Ripped bedsheets that the two confided in together and stained them with whatever she could find.

Manor Invitation:

Torn by the events and everything she's lost, Cecille receives a mysterious invitation that proposes an offer that she cannot pass up: Participate in a "game" for ensuring the capture of Silas.

Character Lore Summary:

Growing up with many hardships, she worked to change her fate and soon made a wonderful life for herself. Unfortunately, said life came crashing down in flames. Grief-stricken and in unbearable sorrow, the losses of the ones she called her own left her in heartache. She has to hold him accountable and can no longer bear to call him her "lover".

Cannon Oletus Manor:

I haven't created or stabilized enough OC's to create a survivor cannon match for her. However, she DOES have a hunter identity.

In the match where Cecille is the hunter, Weeping Angel, two survivors that participate in the match happen to be Caden and Silas. Both are TRAUMATIZED to see what she has turned in to. She runs into the both of them arguing (rightfully so, Caden was devastated to hear about what happened to the orphanage, and it turns out Silas had been keeping all the letters he wrote to her, which is why he never received a response since Cecille believed that Caden hated her after she left). Cecille is shocked to see her twin, but immediately turns her attention to Silas where she,,, murders him. She does NOT care about capturing anyone else and focuses directly on torturing her ex-fiancee.

Fanon Oletus Manor:

Fannon Manor Events (which I focus more on because tee be ache, its much more fun) differ. A little but of background: I used to ship Cecille with Eli until I felt guilty because Eli literally has Gertrude so I just decided to traumatize Cecille even more by making her "the other woman" (LANA DEL REY REFERENCE????) (im evil 😈) Im not going to get to it here but ill do some angst fics with them in the future.

Eli and Cecile start off pretty solid, they're both caring and generally work out together well. Lowkey a power couple until Cecille finds unsent letters to someone from Eli that she is NOT happy about. She feels stupid because the signs were always there, for she had comforted him on nights where he broke down but never told her why, though never pushed it for his own privacy. Cecille feels used, betrayed, all of the above. Though she takes it like a champ and while she would rather NOT interact with Eli, she won't be an asshole if she has to be around him.

Then Ganji arrives at the manor and they kiss and they're in love and no one or anything can ever separate them and,,,, AOUGH I just love cecille x ganji so much im going to THROW UP

CECILLE FUN FACTS YAYAYAY:

SO SO SO SO SO kind and giving. She's just a comfortable character to be around and won't react negatively to some intimate actions. Share a drink with her using the same straw, literally undress butt booty naked and she wouldn't question anything (though the latter might come from her usually seeing people naked due to taking care of them.) ask her to take you a bath, for a kiss, to have her sleep in the same bed if you've had rough matches. All platonic and she's just so sweet. hold hands with her as you travel with her around the manor or during a match. ask for a massage or for a well cooked meal. her love language to others is DEFINITELY acts of service, but everything she's willing to do might as well be all 5 of the love languages. (please make ur oc x cecille art im all here for it)

On the other hand, she's also honest. She doesn't sugarcoat anything and WILL point out if you've done something wrong. Scolds people for treating others unfairly for no reason. (stuck up characters like Edgar and Freddy are usually on the receiving end of her scolding for this reason) She doesn't treat them disrespectfully, but will just be blunt of what they've clearly done wrong.

She's lowkey a little silly,,, Cecille LOVES having quality time with other survivors that are enjoyable to be around. She won't mind baking for them, or making an abundance of food to get fat while they are together. (She sometimes throws secret "parties" in her room that she invites anyone who won't tell) (Emily has caught her on multiple occasions)

Tries to unwind at the manor. She never had the chance to experience the lack of responsibilities because she raised herself and her adopted children afterwards. Does try to experience some things she wish she'd done when younger.

She dosent smoke, but she enjoys a nice alcoholic beverage once in a while.

isn't one of those annoying mother characters that infantilizes others, she UNDERSTANDS that people are adults. wont say stuff like that "omg dont curse" or continuously does things that puts people in those situations that make you wonder why she's treating them as if they're 12.

Though, she WILL baby and spoil people who outright ASK for it. who is she to deny when people come to her for it? however, she sees that not everyone wants her to be affectionate and if she is rejected she won't offer again until it is asked for. (she might be a little butthurt but its okay, she'll get over it without holding a grudge)

bleeds out a LOT!!! with the time to bleed out decreased, going up against Percy or Joseph is her worst nightmare.

Was originally meant to be a therapist until Ada was released! Her abilities were extremely similar to postman but worse since the characters would have to find each other mid match to receive buffs

she dosent mind that she's a little overweight, actually really loves her body! the only reason why she's always covered up is because of the burn scars on her body that she's embarrassed of

her birth certificate reads "cecil" and not "cecille". the nurse made a mistake on the spelling (reference for when I made her my dumbass thought that cecil was pronounced cecille. smh my illiterate ass)

despite hating loud noises, she can tolerate children. maybe she's grown deaf to it over the years

going back to the therapist and then ada being released, net ease has always been my opp when it came to ideas with her??? her once skin was meant to be her in a wedding gown and the skin was going to be called "promised day" and then the Mary skin came out. Then her deduction star would have been "Dorthy" from "The Wizard of Oz" then Memory received that skin as well. Lastly, Ada's "Everlasting Night" Skin is THE EXACT same concept I had for a skin for Cecille but it would have been called "Bleeding Blossoms" and would have been white instead of black. cant believe u net ease

My Personal Weatherman Ep 2 Tidbits

I'm really enjoying the adorable awkwardness with which Yoh acts around Segasaki, and it comes across not only in his behaviour but also in his speech pattern. I watch without subs, so this may have been conveyed, but just in case it wasn't I'd thought I'd share a few cultural/language tidbits here.

Teruteru Bouzu first - you'll probably have seen one before if you watch slice-of-life anime. That little doll/ghost like thingy that Yoh was folding with the tissue is used like a charm of sorts, to chase the rain away, or just as a good weather charm that you'd hang by the window. You'll often see these hung up by the kids in Kindergarten cause that's the age when rain sucks hahaha

I loved this because it shows that Yoh really does miss Segasaki, even though he doesn't want to admit it. The way he smiled at it and then violently threw it away when he realized what he was doing 🤣🤣🤣

Later in the episode, Yoh's emotional withdrawal from Segasaki due to his building jealousy is emphasized in his speech patterns - he awkwardly drops in some "polite" words/patterns (which he didn't in Ep 1, although, granted, he hardly spoke to Segasaki in Ep 1 lolol), which makes his sentences come across as slightly more stilted. This first happens (and is clearest here) when Segasaki joins him for dinner after realising Yoh had waited up for him. He catches Yoh staring and asks "Hmm?", to which Yoh replies says

"あ、いや。なんでもない…です" (Ah, iya, nandemonai…desu) aka "Ah, no, it's….nothing".

"Desu" as you probably know, is an ending particle used in "polite" speech, which he tacks on as an afterthought (the polite form of "iya" would be "iie", if he had wanted the whole sentence to be polite from the get go).

After dinner, when Yoh tries to wake Segasaki up but doesn't know how to, he tries by saying "あの…" (ano…) a few times - which is a common sound you use to get someone's attention but don't want to sound too demanding - this actually isn't being polite per se, because Yoh's certainly not going to go all "Oi!" (which is rather rude) at Segasaki now, but it does show the hesitancy with which Yoh approaches him. Then, when he says he's going to bed, he says

"じゃ、俺は寝るので" (Jya, ore wa neru node) aka "So then, I'm going to bed, therefore…"

The usage of "node" here doesn't quite make the sentence "polite/formal", but it certainly is a little less colloquial than using "から(kara)". The same way that "therefore" doesn't make a sentence polite/formal in English, but is definitely less colloquial than using the word "so" in English. Also, I just find it funny that he uses the informal "ore" pronoun for "I" here with "node" instead of the more formal "boku". Both this, and the random -desu he added earlier, just make his sentences a little more stilted/awkward, and individually don't deserve much mention at all, but together, and in the context of his jealousy, show just how unsure of himself Yoh is around Segasaki.

Btw, the full line he said was

"寝るなら部屋で、とおもって。じゃ、俺は寝るので、あの、その、そういうことで、おやすみ。 aka If you're going to sleep then, (you should sleep) in the room - at least that's what I thought..... So then, I'm going to bed, therefore...um... that... with that... night!

TOO ADORABLE.

(If the text in the speech bubbles wasn't subbed) The manga drawing on the computer, shown right after Yoh's internal dialogue of "But, if I said, 'no' then… it would negate the 'hate' that I said earlier so…" has the words "suki da yo, chanto" in speech bubbles, essentially "I do like you, (you know?) Really."

Did you see some are now using the 13 episodes Tracy said she was only signed on for in Season 5 meant she wasn't under contract in Season 5 and that's why she still under contract this season! Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that wrong?

Yeah, I'm not sure where the 13 eps in season 5 thing came from. If anyone knows the original source, help a girl out.

Per articles like this one before season 5 aired, it was known that Tracy was upped to series regular. Assuming she signed a typical series regular contract with Wolf Ent, that is (in most cases) six years. To me, that would be seasons 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. I'm not about to argue anyone over it, but based on my info I fully believe Tracy's contract was up last year, and she agreed to one more- as we've been told in some interviews now.

I also think a similar thing happened with Kara Killmer, for what it's worth. With strikes impending and cast exits already rocking the shows last year, I think they really prioritized getting major characters back at least for the beginning of the season. Whatever they offered, I think it was enough for actors like Tracy or Kara to return.

Edit to add: I think people want to believe Tracy would never come back if they knew how dirty they would do their characters. I get that. I just think it's important to remember that 1) she might not have even known the story and 2) this is a job to her. A job thay probably pays really good money for her to be there all season. That's nothing to shrug her shoulders about.

i don’t think the ep was bad per se, but i just think it fucking sucks that this entire PZ storyline was teased as this hugely impactful & introspective arc for Kara and none of that happened until like, some last moment losing-and-regaining-hope charade & the rest of it was fucked away on irrelevant and annoying secondary characters; that we had two (very amusing and entertaining!) flashback eps that current day Kara was completely absent from, followed up by another ep that Kara was basically in for ~3 minutes maybe and then her reunion with her actual family, the last big emotional moment before a three month hiatus, was a ten-second-long occasion involving only Alex. obviously i understand that they had to write around Melissa’s maternity leave, but they���ve gone about it in all the worst and most disappointing ways. sucks that this is half the season arc of our final year with the show, frankly.

Only 15 min into the ep and I stg I've never hated the cw writers more. The way they're literally just having the superfriends ignore and cut off Kelly at every fuckin turn as if Alex or even Kara wouldn't have been fully focused once she started talking about the fact that they might be missing something??? But no, it's only Nia who pays any attention.

And we're not even gonna fuckin talk about the systemic stuff because this is a whole new level of White Ignorance, which would be wonderfully accurate if a) Kara hadn't literally watched her planet explode from misuse and lack of resources, b) Alex would actually give exactly zero consideration to how this must be affecting Kelly as a Black woman in an underserved neighborhood (I mean come the fuck on 'I'm sure she's handling it' or whatever the fuck??? That's beyond fuckin lazy even for these dipshits), and c) they actually let Kelly BRING ATTENTION TO IT AND CALL ALL OF THEM THE FUCK OUT instead of letting them walk all over her (I'm sure Azie will do what she can, but you know the cw writers won't let her do it the way it deserves).

But will they? Probably not. At least not in any way that does Kelly or Azie or Black Americans justice. I'm so fuckin tired of this shit. This one major systemic issue per episode thing was bad enough, but unless they actually give Kelly and Azie the platform to call this bullshit out for what it is (i.e. let her fucking scream and yell at them for how ignorant they're being because I cannot imagine the anger that must be coursing through her rn), this is going to be - without a doubt - the worst season yet.

Pretty much the only thing that could make up for this is giving Azie her own fuckin spinoff like she deserves with writers that she and we can trust because sg is never going to do her anything but dirty. But then again, the same is true for the entire CW. Just look at how they've done Candice for the past 7 years smfh.

So 5.12

Having shared my concerns about this week's Supergirl episode, time to say what I did enjoy about it.

Overall, it was great to see Kara and Alex fighting as a team, and we got the thunderclap too. Always a cool power to use, and pleased it got included again after last seasons use at the prison.

While there were so many times I wished the storylines were going in a different direction, I'm certainly okay with seeing the way Alex and Kara do what they do best, and that's fighting together to take down the bad guy, even if Winn was needed to actually disable Toyman.

The rotary phone moment did have me grinning at Alex's face as she lifted it up to the main DEO control console. Talking of the DEO, in a way I am pleased Alex is no longer there, despite other problems this raises for me. Apart from anything else, since becoming Director, Alex hasn't been able to actually achieve a leadership role, as it keeps getting snatched away. Now she can kick ass on her own terms.

While Lena is still going through with her project, and doesn't have any interaction with everyone else apart from Andrea or Lex, it seems as if taking down Lex is as important to her right now. The subtle looks and movements she has been making towards Lex (and Lillian), since Crisis do suggest this is as much endgame for her as Non Nocere is. I would love to see her use Non Nocere to expose Lex and Lillian to the new Earth for the evil villains they are.

Kara, who keeps bringing up Lena at every turn. To have Winn say to Kara to 'give it time' with Lena - that kernel of hope they make it right, blossomed once more for me. I wish that Lena and Kara were actively working on the issues right now, but I am going to wait and see how they try to sort through it.

Leviathan. Now again, we had the pronoun that the esteemed leader is female (it was first hinted at in 5.08. BTW, I'm still hedging on it being Lena's biological mother, who tried to escape Leviathan but was brought back in to lead them. Or had no memories of her Leviathan roots until they were activated. But this 'she' pronoun use does not feel accidental or unimportant.)

For reference from 5.08 'The Wrath of Khan.'

5.12 'Back from the future, part 2.'

"Please tell the Anointed One the Luthors are right where we want them."

"She will be most pleased."

So despite there being a lot of confusion in a lot of these episodes, there are some thin tentacles of plot lines that are there, but they're damn hard to find and are easily missed, but we have them.

I am looking forward to the 100th episode. After all, Mr. Mxyzptlk is fifth-dimensional imp, and we know from the S2 outing, that dimension is on an entirely different plane to Earth or the universe, which is one reason he is so hard to beat. But it means less likely to have been affected by Crisis (if at all, plus with Kara's memories being from Earth 38, I don't have a problem per se on this plot overall).

Also, in reference to that S2 episode, (note - also ep 13), as Mxy disappears, he says that all he ever wanted was to have someone to love him, but Kara says that love can't be forced on anybody; it needs to come on its own.

Listen to your own advice here Kara. It would also help tie into a general 'It's a wonderful life' scenario, because platonic or otherwise the love Kara has for Lena is immense.

Also we learnt that Mxyzptlk can warp reality itself (that theme still keeps running through this season doesn't it,) and could destroy the earth with a click of his fingers.

So also plenty of parallels that could be brought into that episode (and even into the ones that follow).

I admit, since Crisis it feels as if Supergirl has lost a lot of momentum in how the episodes were in 5A. I don't think Crisis and the way the hiatus worked have helped at all. I just hope it can now gather momentum again, and the 100th episode is a prime time to kick start it a second time. So I am tentatively optimistic. Just know, I still have some issues with 5B as a whole, but really they have a chance here to start to bring it back around again.

I'm an optimist, so sue me? 😉

Well I am bored and can’t get back to sleep. So it’s time for a supergirl s5 rant no one asked for.

Now every season has its issues and there were some outside “issues” this season (COVID-19 and Melissa being pregnant) so I will keep that in mind.

That being said.

This season had problems from the word jump. This was for a few reasons.

1- The plot was all over the place

And I don’t mean, ‘oh there was not enough of [blank character] so it was bad.’ No, I mean it was literally jumping between to many elements. Like what was this season about really?

Was it about a new tech environment taking over people’s lives? Was it about an ancient occult power coming out of the shadows to “take” the earth? Was it about adjusting to a post crisis world? Was it about the Luther siblings joining forces to achieve common goal and brainy is a secret inside man?

Now I understand that most tv shows have multiple plot points to follow that’s normal and expected. However, you need to have them meet up in away that is rewarding to the viewer and makes sense for the story that you are trying to tell. And there is an old writing trick called “one step at a time” Basically it boils down to, The audience will only believe one thing at a time.

Eg. You tell the audience this character can only do something in a certain way, (like the sups and the yellow sun,) but then you say that actually never mind this is another way to do it,(like Kara can keep her speed and only her speed under a red sun). This is bad writing as there is no set up or pay off and you cheated your audience by just changing the rules you made for no reason. (Think that kid on the playground that does that “unbeatable force field” thing in a game of tag.)

This can also apply to story concepts this is called a “conflicting narrative” in season 5 this apples to leviathan.

At the start of the season (ep 1 -8) we are told that they are ancient and magical based villains, all good. 

and their big plan is to therefor, of course  *checks notes* to use advice sci fi tech to achieve their goals and do something? with the people inside, yeah that makes sense what else would they use? Magic? that thing the super family is vulnerable to? Nah.....sarcastic’s aside, if you establish one thing you can’t turn in round with no explanation. 

They actually have a good example of this concept working in this season, in ep 10 with Brainy and his changing physical appearance. 

It was set up in the ep early on that our brainy was ‘off’ compared to the other Brainy’s, we get an explanation in the bar scene with the Rath siblings and then it is built upon with a Kara and Brainy scene, then after a build up and a reason (a character based one I might add) it is then and only then that it gets revealed and guess what.... that is hands down the best ep of the season. 

I literally have re-watched that ep so many times cause it’s that good. It is great self contained episodes and builds on per established character moments and plot points (brainy’s character inconsistency and the crisis plot aftermath) it’s the gold standard of what I’m talking about.

it sets up and pays off what it is trying to do and give character base reason for the story. 

But the season as a whole don’t do this effectively because 

2- They focus on making the plot the compliment characters, and not the characters complimenting the plot.   

the blanket term for this is, this is called “build up and release” this is used to drag out tension effectively. there are 2 ways to do this but basically 

1- answer one thing, then that answer leads to another question     

2- give partial answers through out a space of time, to keep attention but not make it the only focus of any given moment.

but anyway,

season 5 has this issue where they bring up a point then either don’t carry it through or don’t ‘step it out’ in a way that leads well to the story.

remember what i said about accepting one thing at a time? now let me ask.

If Leviathan is secret why did they reveal themselves now?

I don’t know and guess what, I don’t care, because the show didn’t care either. they never set up why they came out of the shadows or why that even mattered? so why would anyone care outside of “season’s bad guys”. 

you know what this season did care about the Luther siblings. there is nothing wrong with that per say, I just don’t see why they needed Leviathan if they didn’t actually want to develop them in anyway. If the post crisis season was just about taking down the Luther’s then fine nothing wrong with that.

but here is why they NEEDED the Leviathan ‘plot’ (and i use that loosely) is that they needed it to justify Lena working with Lex and not have her come off as “too evil” that way she can say

“i’m only working with you because I want to get rid of Leviathan” 

instead of 

“i’m working with you because i have the same motives as you”

which would not play well in her “redemption” (and i use that term even looser) they kept an aspect to the story purely to complaint a character they wanted a particular outcome, so they kept a plot element around regardless of how well it actually worked with the story.    

and then there’s the bitch himself LEX (John did a great job tho tbh)

he is the biggest example of ‘plot fitting character’, Lex didn’t fail ONCE the whole season, no problems or surprises and it was “oh so easy for him” like that is just frustrating for everyone, i’m not saying “the hero’s should win all the time” No, but the villains need to earn their wins to. here is why that is an issue if you make it to easy.  

1- the audience wants to see every character have their problems with achieving their goals and how they go about solving the problems as it is and hear me out...entertaining   

2-  when a character always has things “go to plan” it feels super forced, the Human error, is built into us (the audience) as people, so to see it not come into play at all, at any point, feels fake as we all know life don’t work that way for anyone. especially if there are people actively trying to stop you. 

overall you shouldn’t force a plot to fit a character, you should write a character to fit the plot their in (or in other words have them adapted to new situations they don’t even have to do it well) 

Ironically a good example of this in s5 was William

they built up that he was a journalist and that he was hiding something, fast froward and it turned out that he was trying to uncover Leviathan (unknowingly to him) and not apart of them. 

this is a good way for a character to compliment the plot. 

they said here is a new journalist and he doesn’t even know the depths of what he is looking into and that’s a smart move.      

i’m just going to leave this clip here...

this tied in character and plot really well it exampled character and now after this scene they can shift his behaviour and have a reason for it. not just ‘oh actually he was never a jerk and he is nice now’. no it was “he is trying to achieve a goal using this method and now he has been exposed”. This gives a plot based obstacle and character reaction (that failed to work) and it works actually quiet well for a network conspiracy plot.

3- Rushed endings  

now this one is actually treaty to talk about, cause of well the COVID- 19 problems so i can’t be to judgemental about it cause that is a dick move. And on top of that the lead actress (of an action show) was pageant so they had to use he a little less (in fight scenes anyway) so again I’m not going to be a dick about it, and you know i don’t want anyone being forced to work during a pandemic if its not at all necessary. So, i will keep this brief.      

There are still things that fell flat due to being to rushed.

1- the tech/ VR take down.

It was built up for at least 10 eps and they took it down in 5 mins with a pep talk from Kara, like um ok that was easy i guess, don’t know why y’all were worried if you could fix it in an afternoon. this is not a bad plot line in theory, but it was given to much attention for the solution it was given. 

2- Leviathan lady (don’t know and don’t care what her name is) being a robot alien thing.

this one is not too bad? but it was shown way to late in the game and again they didn’t focus enough on Leviathan for this to be of any real audience value outside of a surprise/ shock value. So why should i care now? they barely did anything interesting this season but then you give me something cool 2 mins after it doesn’t matter anymore (with the others bottled). why was this not done earlier in the season? but anyway.   

3- Lena’s “redemption”  

I could write a whole separate rant about this, but for time and my sanity i won’t. but basically, my main issue is that the whole season Lena was spiralling downward and doing worse and worse things to people, and that’s fine from a story pov, but after at least 15 to 17 eps of this and countless bad decisions and judgements she dose ONE good thing and, well that’s all your needed to do, all is forgiven.

now i am all for redemption arcs but one of the main words there is ARC!!!

there needs to be a reflection, apologies, rejections and making mistakes and then truly changing for the better, and still making mistakes!!

it was disgustingly quick and it honestly made me a little uncomfortable. I want to see people grow and learn but people have to earn their own way there. and another thing redemption is not something another person should be reasonable for giving you. (*cough* Kara *cough*)  redemption is something you give yourself through hard choices, personal loses and hard work. and guess what you can do all that and still NEVER get back what you messed up, that was real change and growth is as, 

redemption, real redemption         

comes in the moments when you don’t benefit from it, Lena loses nothing in helping Kara in the end and gains everything she throw away in a minute flat. So, yeah i think it was rushed in a way that made my jaw drop in disbelief because of how badly rushed it was. 

But getting out of that head space.

I like trying to end on a positive note the only part of the ending that was not rushed was Brainy’s bottling of Leviathan, 

it was set up as a thing that be could do (ep 10),it was a hard choice to make (as it was going to kill him) and was given time to feel the full weight of the choice, the Rath sibling hand hold, then Lex taunting him and taking the bottle, and then Brainy being left there alone, Then a bit of hope with Nia’s vision. it was the best part of the ending this season and i want to see more.  that is how you don’t rush an ending let the audience feel the consequences for the character choices with the character.

Matsuno has been kissed on his cheek, by his crush. Reaction?

Osomatsu

If Osomatsu got kissed on the cheek by his crush he’d be over the moon basically. I mean we’ve seen how he reacts in canon even getting a super short hug from someone he likes and it was essentially the equivalent of flustered keysmashing. He’d get a really deep blush, his eyes would turn into hearts or spirals and he’d start stammering and grinning like an idiot, scratching the back of his head sheepishly, all that stuff. Honestly I think he’d be pretty sweet about it. The boy is all talk so when it comes to someone actually showing him physical affection, he’d be super flustered. I don’t think he’d fluster quite as bad as Choromatsu or Ichimatsu though, but he’d definitely get butterflies. He’d probably be tempted to hug them but decide against it if he’s still in the crush stages. I honestly believe that when Oso genuinely cares about someone, he does take measures to try not to be too forward aside from like “haha what if we put our minecraft beds together lol” jokes.

I think once he managed to calm down from the kiss, he’d try and play it off casually or make a joke about the situation to try and make his crush less obvious. He’d definitely be thinking about that cheek kiss the rest of the month though.

Karamatsu

Karamatsu can be difficult to get a read on sometimes but I think if he were kissed on the cheek by a crush he’d be very, very internally flustered but remain rather “unchanged” on the surface. However, unlike Jyushimatsu and Todomatsu who would be good at not drawing too much attention to it, Kara’s a different story. There’d be an obvious blush and some sweating, as is the case with all of them, but he would immediately use the opportunity to draw a ton of attention to the fact you just kissed his cheek, even with a crush. He’d be absolutely ELATED that someone took time to show him physical affection and make a huge deal about it. He’d give a “Heh”, push his sunglasses up and then immediately say something like, “It seems as though my Karamatsu [blank] is quite affectionate today!~ How lucky for me... Heh...”

While I do think Karamatsu is actually pretty easy to fluster, I also think he’s just gotten so good at masking how he actually feels that he’d be able to hold a pretty good poker face, even around a crush. Like he would obviously be flustered and would probably later sigh to himself and clutch his chest and romantically yearn and pine and be all cute and lovey dovey once he was alone, but in public or around someone he’s really trying to impress, he’s going to keep his Dreamworks or “Bishie” face on... Or at the very least try his damndest to. If you noticed, he doesn’t change his expression very often when he’s trying to come across as “cool” or “likeable”, again, unless it’s to give himself shiny bishie eyes.

Choromatsu

Choromatsu is very easily flustered, if he got a kiss on the cheek from a crush he’d be a complete wreck. He’d be blushing, heart eyes, sweaty, the works, totally frozen, totally shocked. I mean he’d react pretty much the same to how he reacts to cute people in the show, minus the fanboying. I guess how he acted with Iyako is a good basis really. He’d probably gasp and like freeze up, have no idea what to say but look completely flustered and shocked, deep blush, super wide eyes. It’s probably not something he was expecting at all, even if you are his crush. If you tried to question him about his behavior, all he’d be able to do is stammer and stutter... You’d probably have to wait a couple of minutes before he’d be able to form actual sentences.

If he was talking a lot earlier, he’d probably be much quieter afterwards too once he calmed down, getting caught up in his own thoughts about you. If you tried to question him about it once he had calmed down he’d probably still stutter but at least be able to explain that he isn’t used to physical signs of affection. He’d probably be very apologetic.

Ichimatsu

Oh poor Ichimatsu... Like Choro he would also be a wreck, except even worse. Out of all of the Matsus, I feel like Ichimatsu definitely flusters not only the most easily but the most violently as well (and no I don’t mean him being violent, I mean like... He’d foam at the mouth or pass out or catch fire... Something like that). Aside from the blushing, there’d probably end up being some gag where he just... Dies. He’s so overwhelmed, he just dies. It’s okay though because he’d be alive again almost immediately after. If he got kissed on the cheek by his crush, he’d be absolutely shocked and in complete disbelief... In fact it might take him a bit to register that it happened at all and assume it was just some super lifelike daydream. If it did register though, he’d be a complete mess the rest of the day, and extra scatterbrained for the rest of the week. Since he’s someone that thinks so little of himself on top of being touch-starved and inexperienced with anything dating-related, he’d probably still have some trouble believing it happened even if it obviously did. He wouldn’t bring it up again or acknowledge it unless you started kissing him on the cheek consistently.

He’d definitely react to it the most overtly, but at the same time he’d also be the most likely to be in denial that it actually happened. Ichi is someone who takes a lot of convincing in the early stages.

Jyushimatsu

Jyushimatsu is an interesting case. He’s one of the few Matsus where we sort of have an idea how he acts in a romantic relationship, but of course there’s still inquiries to be made. If he got a kiss on the cheek from a crush, I think he’d react comically, like think blowing steam out of his ears or getting those cat eyes he does. Still, even with the comical response, I don’t think he’d actually fluster quite that badly. He’d do a “WOOO FLUSTERED” sight gag to make you laugh, but Jyushimatsu seems surprisingly calm and well-adjusted when it comes to interacting with potential love interests. Yes, there’s the “HARDTY” joke and his penchant for yelling inappropriate things carelessly, but for the most part (especially with someone he’s interested in), he’d be pretty civil.

Aside from the comical reaction, I don’t think he’d mention it or acknowledge it afterwards for fear of seeming like a “creep” or something. He’s surprisingly respectful with potential love interests, though if he's known said crush since childhood he’d be more apt to make dirty jokes or say stupid things since his guard would be a little more down.

Todomatsu

Todomatsu, per usual, would react to it the most “normally” at first glance. He’d play it off very casually and maybe even turn it into an attempt to flirt back, kissing your cheek and saying something like, “Now we’re even!~” He’d try to be cute about it of course and on the surface he would seem very calm and collected about the situation, but internally... 

Internally he is still a Matsu, and thus at some point would politely excuse himself to use the bathroom only to go in there and lose his absolute mind. It’d be very similar to the scene in the Sutaba job ep where he goes into the employee background and does his whole “BINGO!” shtick. As much as he likes to act calm and collected for the sake of not coming across as socially inept, he still can’t help but get excited by the rare chance at physical affection. He’s just as strange and hilarious as the rest of his brothers but is admittedly a lot better at seeming collected on the surface.

What means having a trans friend...

Just disclaimer: I haven’t read any article that talked about the episode per se, this is just something I thought might be helpful. I saw some people talking about Kara’s role on the whole transphobic situation and i would like to point out some things.

Having a trans friend doesn’t make you understand more about what being trans is like or what transphobia feels like.

Maybe you become more acceptable and open minded. BUT, unless you do your research or ask such friend about it:

-You don’t know what dysphoria feels like

-You don’t know what being misgendered feels like

-And, even though you might face another kind of discrimination (sexism, racism, homophobia, etc), doesn’t mean you know what transphobia feels like.

I can’t stress this enough! Everybody knows transphobia is a bad thing but, unless you are trans, people don’t know what it’s really like.

For example, if someone was being transphobic towards me (I’m FtM), the best thing my friends can do is listen to me and being there for me.

I don’t expect you to know how it feels like, but I expect you to know that transphobia is bad and that I need more your support and you being there for me.

If Kara doesn’t know how to handle the transphobic situation, is completely normal and she shouldn’t be shamed for not knowing what to do.

From what I saw in the trailer, Kara offers Nia her help to take down the transphobe, and that’s, honestly, the best thing you can do.

So, what I’m trying to say is, if Kara in any kind of situation regarding the transphobe, she doesn’t know what to do, don’t come for her (or the writers).

Remember that Nicole, who is a strong trans activist and a real trans woman who faced transphobia in her life, helped writing today’s ep.

So, it can’t go bad.

So we got Alex flipping from "I've watched you save the world, Lena, I believe in you and the good intentions of what you're doing, and I will encourage it" last season to "she's a Luthor, don't trust her, here's an itemized list of shady stuff she's done that I suddenly have a problem with" at the drop of a hat. But then according to next week's ep description, she'll be going to Lena for help with the Crisis stuff. Can we maybe get a little consistency of relationships between characters here?

Consistency? On this show? Less likely than you think.To be fair, Alex raised legit concerns, but the fact they weren't concerns until just now comes across as disinegenuous. My bigger gripe is the Sam slam Alex made against Lena. Like, the context of Lena's relationship to Supergirl and the DEO was pivotal in S3. The DEO had not been formally introduced to her at that point, and Lena likely knew that the DEO once funneled aliens to Cadmus (remember S1? good times), so of COURSE she didn't tell the DEO about her best friend being Reign.The bish makes questionable decisions, and some of them deserve to be criticized, but muddling them together with secrets she had every right and sense to keep just undermines the whole point, and makes it look like the writers are just grasping at straws trying to cast Lena further into the shadows than she really is.And "We can't put our faith in some distant hope that she's gonna do the right thing when every single action that she has taken up until now points to the contrary"???? like ?????Seriously Alex??Every choice? Like trying to solve climate change and world hunger? Like stopping the Daxamite invasion? Like spending her time money and effort rebuilding National City after the Daxamite Invasion? Like telling Supergirl to drop her into the reservoir instead of the chemicals that could poison thousands of people? Like giving Supergirl the location to the exodus ship that JEREMIAH helped Cadmus build???? Like building Kara an anti-kryptonite suit, so that your sister was able to survive when your facility failed to prevent the Graves' siblings from stealing the lead dispersal device and using it to seed the atmoshpere with kryptonite?? Like keeping Ruby safe and protected from Reign right up until the moment YOU went and led the bish right to her?Oh, and mentioning Lex was a cheap shot, because Lex's escape is NOT on Lena. Lex was ON CONVALESCENT FURLOUGH. He had been released per every legal guideline there is and came with a contingent of federal marshals to keep him under guard. That he was given powers *is* on Lena, but he didn't use those powers to escape. So let's keep things in perspective.What the actual fuck, Alex.
