Biblically Accurate Weyler/Wyler is them putting each other in a Saw traps whenever they have a serious argument, Tyler with the full context of what he’s building for her and because he enjoys watching her work out the puzzles and Wednesday with like a dim awareness of what they’re referencing but is 100% doing it because it’s fun watching Tyler start swearing when he has to unlock another lock on the door of HIS room by picking it and she’s filled that sucker with chainsaws and 1500 dudlocks, he still hasn’t found the real one yet. It’s been three hours, he might actually die, he’s looking at her through the one way glass with big sad eyes but not begging…. Yet.

James walked up to his closet and took out a jumper.

Sadie smiled, “I’ve worn that before…”

“I know,” James smiled, too, as he sat back down on the bed and Sadie put on the jumper. “It looks much better on you than it does on me.”

“Are you ready?” he asked, as Sadie sat down too.

She nodded, “This is going to be dead scary again, won’t it…?

James chuckled, “Probably. But I’ll protect you, don’t worry,” he winked.

Tyler: People are normally afraid of bear attacks, but Wednesday? She's terrified of bear hugs.

Anyway Wednesday would totally call Tyler a grizzly bear or compare him to one; ironically for the (pale) comparison made of his Hyde’s maiming skills to bear attacks but his bear hugs in his human form is just as deadly, specifically to her. However she hibernated with grizzlies before, as she told Donovan in episode 2, so it wouldn’t be long before he catches his own son and her cuddling and sleeping together. Probably for the entire day much to his chagrin.

I was thinking about Tyler's scenes with his father (some of my favorite scenes honestly), and two things came to mind. And sorry, if it has been talked about way too much before.

First one is they talk similarly. Both have a sarcastic edge, but other than that, their voices are similarly low, flat, there is little intonation to it. I know some people make fun of the delivery, or call it the actor's "straight voice" (like really, just because it is a bit deeper??), but it aligns so well with Jamie McShane's tone. It makes them seem more like a family, so I would like to commend the actors for that.

The other thing was, most of their conversations revolve around Tyler wanting his dad to talk to him about his mom or getting him to therapy, so they could talk about his mom there. From Dr. Kinbott's records, we can hear, that Tyler becomes cold and detached, whenever they try to talk about his mother. He cannot properly open up to his therapist, but deep down, he hopes he would be able to connect with his dad and talk about her. And if that would've happened, maybe that would have been enough to free himself from his slave status.

If the cold and detached persona comes out whenever the therapist asks about the mom, why is that never present when he tries to get his dad talking? He is angry, not cold. That is 100% Tyler begging for help.

So, mini theories:

Tyler is forbidden by Laurel to talk about his mother. When he is pushed, Hyde takes over. This caused Dr. Kinbott's death. Tyler is somehow able to surpass this with his father, or at least would be, if the man would talk to him.

The Hyde inside Tyler's head is trying to protect him, whenever he is experiencing high amount of distress, but even with the neglect and abuse (being "slapped around"), he wouldn't go against his dad, making him possibly the only one Tyler would trust enough.

There is no Hyde persona. Tyler is simply not comfortable talking about this deeply emotional topic to the therapist. He just wants to talk to his dad.

Cause it’s not the first time I’d gotten fully invested in a ship between a stoic, distrusting girl and a tortured monster guy that had a vocal hatedom/was overshadowed by more popular ships featuring the girl, only for that ship to eventually peter out into nothing because of backlash.

I hate that some people who have seen Beetlejuice 2 take the case of Astrid and Jeremy as a representation of Wyler at face value to argue that Tyler is indeed a pure villain. Okay, me too, when I saw the film I joked with my friend about the superficial resemblance between the two, and that's how I understood that there would be a twist on Jeremy. Except that none of it was of the first degree. The similarities are purely superficial, and what's more, Jeremy serves as a foil to Beetlejuice, to put him in a more positive light for his own character and his relationship with Lydia. But just because Tim Burton is linked to these two works does not mean that resemblance = same thing, and so that Jemery = Tyler. Absolutely not. The characters have nothing to do with it. And frankly, Tyler's haters are really desperate to make this type of comparison, just to push the character down and try to make him a pure villain ? It's ridiculous.

The title of the event is pretty self-explanatory. This event will celebrate all things kooky — excuse me, spooky — and what better couple embodies the spirit of Halloween than Wednesday Addams and Tyler Galpin? 🎃

WHAT IS THE TIMELINE OF THE EVENT?

The event will run from October 25th to October 31st. We accept all types of works: gifs and gifsets, stories, fanart, edits, recommendation lists, playlists, essays — pretty much anything is welcome.

ARE THERE DAILY PROMPTS FOR THE EVENT?

Yep. But they are not mandatory. They are more like guidelines if you guys ever need an inspiration. You can just publish one thing, follow any prompts you may like, or disregard them entirely, it's up to you!

Day 1 | October 25: A Classic and Old Horror Cliché (eg. witches who sold their souls to the Devil, a haunted mansion, etc.)

Day 2 | October 26: Wyler as Other Horror Characters (eg. Phantom of the Opera and Christine Daaé, Dracula and Mina Harker, etc.)

Day 3 | October 27: Bad Romance (One of them dies, gets maimed or otherwise hurt at the hand of the other.)

Day 4 | October 28: A Modern Horror Cliché (eg. 80s slashers, no cell-phone signal, teenagers getting killed at a camp, etc.)

Day 5 | October 29: Role!Swap (Wednesday as the Hyde and/or a monster Tyler has been searching for.)

Day 6 | October 30: Halloween Party (Is it going to be a bloodbath or a regular, fun party? It's up to you.)

*Sigh* Wednesday is trending again, which means that the kiddos out there are gonna start drama again. Please just stop; this is one of the reason why the show was called cringe a year ago and people left the fandom.

1- You have the right to ship Wyler et Wavier. This is your opinion, your preference and I respect it. So why, mainly Wavier shippers, are suddenly back at attacking Wenclair shippers for no reason at all on Tumblr, Twitter and basically every single social media? What are you, 12? Is this hard to respect people's opinions???

2- Stop shipping Jenna and Emma. I'm almost certain this is the reason why we can't tag Emma on Instagram anymore. Ever since the Chappell Roan videos got out, a lot of people have made weird comments saying that they kissed or that they were on a date. Just stop. Stop shipping real people, or do it but silently. All of this is making them very uncomfortable and it's just direspectful to assume things like that. We just got them back, don't make Jenna delete Instagram again and make Emma disappear from it once again.

This just needed to be said. Just be respectful, it's not that fucking hard, goddamit. And when I mean respectful, I mean towards the fans AND the actors. Don't make Wednesday cringe again. Stop being kids and attacking other fans for absolutely no reason because you can't accept the fact that they don't ship your ship. And stop using the fucking Wenclair hashtag to say trash about them, this is getting annoying.

This is also addressed to, like me, Wenclair shippers. You should respect Wyler and Wavier shippers as well; don't give the bad example. Everyone is free to ship the characters they want, and this without any drama or violence. Just be kind to each others, it's not that hard.

Also, don't make Tumblr toxic. I already left Instagram and Twitter because people in here are the most toxic ever, I always loved Tumblr because people were nice, but for a week mad Wavier shippers started posting and insulting which is extremely annoying. Oh, and I also had to turn off my anonymous asks because I got very weird questions from probably bots. Don't make this app bad too, it's basically the only good one left with Pinterest.

As Sarah sat down again, she turned to James. “Mum wants to know if you’re bringing anyone to the funeral. And she added that as long as you’re not calling ‘that girl’ your girlfriend, it would be very inappropriate to bring her. Her words, not mine.”

“Seriously?” James asked, “Her mother just passed away, and this is what she’s worried about? That woman never ceases to amaze me…”

He shook his head, “Either way, no, I won’t bring anyone to the funeral. I assume that, by ‘that girl,’ she meant Leona, and Leona has moved away. I wouldn’t have brought her even if she hadn’t, anyway.”

Everyone now looked at James. “What?” He said.

“Leona moved away?” Sarah asked, “Are you okay?”

“Of course I’m okay,” James said, sounding agitated. “Leona and I had sex, that’s all. Now, I’ll just have to do that with others. And on that note, please excuse me.”

He stood up and approached a girl sitting at the counter. His friends looked at him in silence.

Here’s the thing about The Diplomat now that I’ve finished season 1. I have a competence kink. And I also love mess.

And Kate Wyler, as played by Keri Russell, is just this wild amalgam of competence and hot mess with an emphasis on hot. Also her marriage is the epic peak of mess.

It’s so good. It’s frequently very funny. It’s twisty and engaging and I cannot wait for season 2.
