The way Rose Tyler is the blueprint of every companion after RTD’s era. The way the show runners always try to copy the easy, impactful way she has woven herself into the Doctor’s heart. The way she was an imperfect working class girl and she changed the worlds by being just that. The way her and both her Doctors danced together so easily, changed each other, existed together like they should just melt into one being. The way she still haunt the narrative decades and multiple generations later like no other character. The way the beautiful storyline they gave her and the Doctor can’t be mimicked again, no matter how hard they try.

Rose Marion Tyler is the blueprint and nobody has owned the Doctor’s hearts the way she has

And my longest hiatus was 6 days?#Did you know I missed posting on 92 days of those 500 days - meaning I posted 82% of the time on a daily basis?#I'm normal about collecting data. I have so much data on this blog for normal reasons. I'm also so normal about art. The normalest.#Honorable mention for the character rankings: Lan Wangji! for “Most improved in rank”.#Sorry Lan Wangji fans but until the audio drama I honestly was...pretty indifferent towards him.#I think a huge part of that was due to the fact he's constantly paired up with WWX; who has *so* much charisma and steals the scene #But I've really come to like him a lot more since starting this project. He rose from mid-tier to being in the top ten!#Dishonorable mention: Nie Huaisang. Who fell out of number 1 spot and out of the top 5.#He just hasn't shown up a lot! And my rankings are fickle! They will probably change once I finish the third season!#My favourite comics are: A lot of them! A Rose and a Nightingale

#og #this one is inspired by zepyuri nman song. there are many iterations of it but the one by ladaniva is my favourite...#go listen to it #the painting is quite simple but 1. i kinda wanted to keep it that way and 2. i'm a lazy artist...i can't spend more than 3 days on art #i may revisit it later. just really wanted to finish it before the year ends lol #oh some more infodumping! in the second verse there are lines:#i'll become Spring and come to your garden / like a nightingale i'll cling to your rose #i thought 'huh. what an interesting metaphor' and went researching #figures! the motive of a nightingale being in love with a rose is a widespread one in classical iranian literature #at that moment i'd decided to go with iranian-armenian adjacent style of clothing. it's all so pretty #i love the veiling. i love the colors. the patterns. the cut and fit of the costume too.#i was mostly referencing 1 black and white drawing so i couldn't see many details unfortunately #it was from 'armenian national costumes' book by Arakel Patrick #p. 85 table 6 pic. 2 and 3 - rug weavers from charmahal region of isfahan #for anyone's interested in looking it up lol #+ some other references #also if i don't use orange and blue color combo at least once a year i will literally die #ok. infodumping is over #q

I know & remember very little about RTD as a person but I do remember he left DW to care for his dying partner and that his partner has since died. And the way that this is so evident in his approach to 14 and 15, it’s phenomenal.

2005 Davies was interested in high drama, big stakes, the roughest heartbreak that could exist. And now he’s lived it, and it feels like his approach to the show has shifted as he has shifted!

14 getting to rest, Wilf alive off-screen, Donna’s memories returned - 15 leaving his trauma and his heartbreak and his pain with 14 in order to begin again fresh and new and ALIVE…it is all so meaningful to me!!!

#doctor who #15th doctor #I’m just THINKING about how the meaning of death and grief and mourning is LOVE #and once you really learn that deep in your bones you are a fundamentally changed person #and while I personally wanted 14 to be fully gone & fully regenerate #(I thought we were gonna see a shot of him like properly healing and then fade away in regeneration light)#the idea of him having a happy ending….#just this once rose everyone lives!#it is so precious and tender to me #spoilers #doctor who spoilers
