im thinking abt the remnants of despair. cause i hate how it just seemed to be like, "theyre suddenly brainwashed and then they turn evilll and they kill because they dont feel anything" like, i hate that. it feels so underdeveloped. it cant just be despair, it has to be deeper than that, i think it'd take personal angles and link with a lot of their own trauma, leaving them really vulnerable and deranged. so heres my own interpretation and headcanons for some of them

contains mikan, nagito, fuyuhiko, peko, akane, kazuichi, and brief analysis of the rest. keep in mind i havent seen the animes yet lol so this is a basic layer of it, but i just rly wanted to let this out cus i dont see it talked about. storing my brainrot here for later moments.

first of all i feel like the brainwashing would be a very slow process bc junko would definitely just manipulate everyone in her way to get what she wants. and by the time the world was plagued basically, all the remnants clearly had really unhealthy feelings related to junko specifically. they all love her, hate her, or praise her, but its all in very different ways that would be bc of their own personal backstories

we all know how mikan and nagito feel. mikan was constantly hurt by other people before junko herself, itd make sense for her to develop a very unhealthy attachment to her. mikan was extremely vulnerable and controllable, she would do anything for anyone and especially junko, just so no one is mad at her, hence why it got so twisted to the point where she wanted to keep a part of her inside forever. she wanted to be loved so badly, she would take whatever form of it she could. thats why it was so easy for junko to get her under her boot. now nagito has an odd love-hate relationship with junko imo (his mind is so messed up man) even if he praises hope in such a grossly obsessed way, the mf still TOOK her arm. i know he did it because he hated her so much and i guess to take power back, but i feel like because nagito had never really been loved, he wanted to try and feel what it could've been like out of some kind of confused desperation and fondness for her in a way, because his mind has no idea what those feelings truly are or what they mean, as hatred and love often get mixed up in his head and form this horrible amalgamation with whoever he meets, which is clear towards the survivors in the nwp anyway

fuyuhiko put junko's own eye into his own socket, and i feel like his relationship with her while in despair would be familial and extremely unhealthy. he is definitely one of the most fucked up to me. id say by my own headcanons though its heavily implied in his fte dialogues, is his parents are very ab/usive right from the start. fuyuhiko is messed up to all hell, he was constantly struck and under pressure but he had to be strong and perfect because he was the head of his clan, hence like his insane tolerance for pain. he had to make his clan, or more importantly his parents proud, or else he was a failure forever. so he clung onto that and did his best trying to be good enough for basically anyone. and even before despair he was in a really bad stubborn, mean, depressive state, leaving him far more vulnerable and more open to violent, impulsive actions as long as junko was smart enough to get him under her finger. fuyuhiko never knew what true love felt like (platonic or not), and when junko took advantage of all of that and he slowly fell into despair, shit hit the fan. he lost morality and he had come so attached to her to the point where junko was like a mother figure to him. he wanted her to notice him and be proud basically, it was moreso the idea of someone-- anyone-- being proud of him, but junko was his main focus of that by now, given his state. to him she was like the mother he never had, who seemed to be on the same terms with everything he had believed, someone who approved of him, so he wanted to make her proud, even if it was hurting him. fuyuhiko would keep digging himself a hole of desperation and self destruction, seeking more and more pain to test his endurance because it's what she wanted, and that became what he wanted, too, because pain is all he's used to. and because of that, makotos guess was right; he wanted to see her despair. it'd make sense he'd want to take a part of her, to see horrors she had witnessed so he could understand it, so she could be proud of him and part of him forever. he felt like if he did that, he would finally succeed, he'd achieve perfection, and he did. he'd done everything junko wanted him to do, while quenching his own thirst for violence itself, all via his own delusions. that was love to him and it felt real

as for peko she was definitely also treated the same in the kuzuryu family but more dehumanized obviously, so i think she'd feel a similar way; always needing to be good enough, but more specifically protecting the ones she cares about at all costs even if it results in bloodshed. i think she'd be a lot colder, forcing to suppress her feelings since she just has to follow fuyuhiko wherever he goes, and she was pretty much as insane as him as well so anything slid. i know peko doesnt want to be a tool, but she'd definitely succumb to the fact that she has to be one when they're under despair at the same time, and if she was going to be his tool, she has to be like a robot and just do what follows, because she didn't see herself as a person, her chance of being her own human was ripped away

as for akane, she grew up very poor, and didn't live a good life at all either (w/ definitely bad parents) but she always tried her very best taking care of her siblings in the past, despite everything. i think there was a lot of twisted familial love with junko whom she started to see as a sister despite being unrelated, just because of being a caretaker all her life, its just kind of instinct to protect anyone, but that just got mixed up as she fell into despair, and she would only protect junko, while chaotically killing anyone else in her way. she'd fight for her endlessly, she was one of the strongest, at least for a while, im thinkin she found her body and wanted to preserve it as much as possible by the end of everything, she still wanted to take care of her and do everything for her even if she had been too late. and with that, and barely any food in an apocalyptic world, the inevitable happens. akane would fall into a very hurtful spiral of self hate, that her starving was a sacrifice to junko so she could prioritize her first instead of herself, while also it being like a punishment to herself for her own failures and how she was failing to preserve junko

kazuichi always hated himself. he was bullied often, didn’t have a lot of friends going into high school, and he was very desperate for attention, especially from women. he’d be very notably attached to junko which would eventually evolve into romantic feelings, similar to mikan. he craved attention and validation so much, it left him very vulnerable, and kazuichi often grows attached to people who show him a sliver of kindness anyway, so junko would likely personally manipulate him and praise him, and they’d grow close, and he’d develop a very strong attachment towards her that derails into love and lust. and once he was influenced by her under despair, he would do anything for her. so, he’d get his hands on a lot of weapons, and go on mindless killing sprees, causing havoc 24/7 just to please her and keep her memory alive through despair. and deep in his mind, he probably truly thought that junko was his soulmate, that they were destined to be together, and he was fulfilling missions just for her, and in the end, they could be together

extra stuff i guess? as anyone would expect, sonia just became a corrupted leader and took advantage of her power under despair. her kingdom would try to keep her above it, but she’d fall into it somehow anyway, and probably had already been plagued by corrupt/unjust views by junko before, so she’d lead her people to worship junko the same way she does, and anyone who stood against it would be punished severely. mahiru falls into morbid curiosity because of junko and gets worse, given what she does with her camera, also both mikan and gundham would try to stitch junko up a little, and try to keep her from falling apart as long as possible. mikan is more likely to do that for her own twisted romantic purposes, but if gundham gets a hold of her before or after mikan, he would take her blood for himself, and most likely start a cult to worship her, all for like weird satanic purposes involving rituals and stuff. he’d also encourage his members or the other remnants to indulge in certain activities for the sake of praising her. gundham would probably even believe she was some demon from the underworld who granted him powers and chose him to carry on her legacy

1. Who is your favourite character?

i cannot choose between the core four i'm sorry 😭 they're all such interesting and well written characters, i feel like it's impossible to choose between them. they're all super fun to watch and analyze, especially in regards to my own personal experiences and how i relate to each of them on some level. but if i absolutely had to choose, it would most likely be edwin. i just love him so much as a character, and how well he's written. he's so kind and so bitchy at the same time. i absolutely love edwin. i've also never seen a queer character's arc of coming to terms with their sexuality written like edwin's, and i just absolutely adore him as a character.

5. Which character do you relate to the most?

edwin again. i relate to all of them on some level, from charles' anger to crystal's "mean girl who got nicer" arc to niko being a shut in (all things i've been through) but that experience of feeling immensely lonely despite being loved and having friends, of being through trauma that's made you guarded and quiet and kind of bitchy, of being surrounded by supportive people but still being affected by growing up in a homophobic society, all just hits really close to home. edwin's "you can't just do things based on how you feel at the moment" and his reliance on logic is also something i really relate to, as someone whose emotions lie to them quite a lot. i just really relate to edwin on so, so many levels.

8. A headcanon you have (that you havent seen talked about yet)!

i am a firm believer of the "niko has siblings" agenda. she gives me youngest sibling vibes, like the baby of the family, yk? in my head, she definitely has one older brother, and maybe an older sister too. i've been picturing her brother as ~20 years old, and her sister maybe 17 or 18? but yes, i very very firmly believe niko has older siblings, or at least an older brother. i recognize this holds no bearing on the story but it's important to me.

12. If you existed in the universe would you hang around as a ghost? (What would you do?)

i mean, if i had a choice, then yes. i wouldn't want to be a ghost forever, but definitely for some time. not sure how long before i decide to move on but probably at least a few years. so long as i had a friend with me, i think i'd really enjoy it. i would miss sleeping and eating, i think, but i definitely would not miss having to maintain my body or whatever. and i would do a lot of stuff but especially mirror travel around the world. idc if it takes me years to master, i would love to just walk around seeing new sights and people. i would go to so many concerts of my favourite bands and musicians, and since i would have an eternity, i'd probably pick up some new skills while i'm at it. learn a new language, maybe some magic. i also recently moved countries, so i'd definitely go and visit home. haunt the city i grew up in, yk?

I’ve literally never met another person who ships First Hero with an OC. I MUST know everything about her now 👁️👁️

Oh goodness, where to start! Firstly, thank you so much for your interest in her! We love Stella a lot and she's super fun to write when we get to do so, so it'd be my pleasure to talk about her! Iirc we touched on her a bit in the more recent Stolen Altars chapters, discussing her with another character we havent seen in a while. That conversation gave us a bit of a peek into what Stella was like in her home era, and her family.

To start, Stella was never a meek woman, and she's always been incredibly stubborn. Fueled by spite, that one, and so willful, she's about as ornery as an old mule. That comes shining through in a lot of ways, in a lot of her relationships. With her grandfather, who was her legal guardian after her parents died, that manifested as frequent arguments and a lot of her storming out of the house, long hair trailing behind her like a tropic storm tail.

With her coworker, it often showed up as flippant disregard. She was going to do what she wanted, and normally there wasn't anyone willing or able to stop her. Working at the time bureau as she was, she did get the opportunity to pursue a medical track, which seemed to be the one thing she and her grandfather agreed upon, and she was good at it, as well as a quick study.

However, her stubborn streak bit her when her recklessness got her coworker put into the hospital, and she mellowed quite a bit after that. She began investing more time and care into that relationship especially, becoming, in that coworkers own words, like a second mother. Around this time, she cut her hair, and also acquired the scar on her nose. The new, good relationships with her peers didn't ease tensions with her grandfather though, and if anything, made them worse, and she continued to be directly oppositional to him until and after she met Matdas.

A note: her attitude was still shit when she met him and her bedside manner was still even worse.

Following that, some few years later and after figuring out her living situation with Matdas, there was an event, which forced her to take her small child and run, slipping through time to safety but leaving Matdas behind in the process.

From here, she remarried out of necessity to provide for the baby, her step-spouse passing of illness when the kid was old enough to understand what was going on, somewhere preteen ish? (I'd have to go back and look, forgive me ^^; ) and from then until just before the end of her life, things were relatively peaceful.

Stella was adept with magic, as it'd been a skill that was incredibly useful with her medical work, and did her best to try and pass that on, but…. She realized fairly quickly that it would be better for everyone if she simply wrote down all of her spells for her kid, because spellcasting was not a hereditary skill. She was a good mom, and by then she'd mostly figured out the patience thing, doing her best to show her child that they were loved no matter what. Stella was a comforting constant in a world where people often had a tendency toward cruelty.

She then fell ill, her child a teen, and didn't recover. The loss is still v e r y acutely felt.

That said... We're not exactly done with her or this story yet! Stay tuned! :3c

i am going to talk about oc pokemon au and you cant stop me :] (or, alternatively, if you're spark, it just me reiterating it with proper wording LOL)

Orbit is a knowledgable figure, unsure if I want him to be a professor or not, but he's also someone who's going to be important in the balance of quality of life in both humans and pokemon in his town, ensuring that the people do not disturb the natural habitat, and that the townsfolk be able to live a good life within the town. Ike was / is Orbit's partner in this endeavor, but went missing (presumed dead) for a year or two while he was out on a diplomatic trip out of the region; The two eventually reunite, not to worry.

Alon and Lupa are field researchers that work with/under Orbit. Alon in particular used to be a gym leader of the region in his younger years, but decided to retire a full year before he and Lupa got married, wanting to focus on his family and trying to get away from the public eye. He and his husband mostly help with nurturing hatchlings nowadays, but occasionally do the fieldwork for their job, as well as personal outings with personal agendas, of course.

Lupa has always been so passionate about pokemon and their behavior, seeking to understand them more. He wandered around various regions, becoming champion once and never again, despising the unwarranted fame his younger self did not want. He also met Alon during his travels, starting out at the wrong foot but quickly becoming fast friends, with Alon freely offering Lupa his kindness and hospitability. Despite all that, he still challenges gyms for the sake of it even now!

AND NOW FOR THE PROTAGS

The story follows Mela, Orbit's daughter, wanting to be as accomplished as her father, and setting out to her own journey. She's accompanied by Akku, who is Alon and Lupa's son, and his boyfriend, Hiraya, who was often under Orbit's watch due to his parents often being called for their duties as Elites.

As the trio's journey goes on, they all end up in a rather far away snowfields; and Mela eventually meets a man who looks rather familiar... but can't quite place her finger as to who exactly it is. She wants to find out though, stubborn as she always is to get things right. It's weird though, because it seems like Hiraya's seen a ghost, but he just won't say.

In the end of this arc, Mela meets the lake spirits, and they help her remember who that man was to her. Is to her. Ike, her dad, who's been missing and apparently, just as confused as her, because neither of them remember each other etc etc.

IT ALL VERY . MESSY and unclear and i might renew a lot of this bc i havent thought about all it yet. the basic summary was this:

Story following though 3 childhood friends journeys, Mela being the main protag ??? wanting to be like her dad ??? Accidentally finding her other, long missing father in the process??? ENSUE TEAM ROCKET LIKE EVENTS AND SHIT GOES DOOOOOWN

Akku and Hiraya just there for silly goofy shenanigans and support. (Akku wanting to explore like his parents did, and Hiraya not having much to do anyway, being the current youngest and not having much direction in his life???? idkkk HAHA but he and akku share the same passion w/ loving pokemon, akku just wants to see if he can run though badges in the process)

anyway yah feel free to plonk your opinions on this, i obviously have a lot to research, like the lake spirits, and which pokemon can temporarily take away your bad memories and help return it when you have to face it (first thought was gothitelle??) or if i can make up a process wherein a venusaur knowing amnesia -> imbued that power in its spores/pollen to help ease sadness that its trainer is experiencing and how thats kind but also kind of. oof move on the venusaur. etc etc. idk HAHAHHA

BXNNY! I FINALLY GOT FURINA!!!!

After sooo long and doing everything i could to get primogems and such, I GOT THE LOVELY FURINA AND I LOVE HER SO MUCH!!!! But then the 4.8 trailer came out and Navia is literally next on the wish banner. So while i did get my Furina, i might have to skip Navia.. I mean i’ll still keep trying but it’s very unlikely i would get her due to being guranteed for Furina earlier. Regardless if i do get her or not, im still gonna farm for Navia’s materials.

Btw any thoughts on the recent Natlan teaser? I really love the new Natlan characters and im for sure saving for the Dendro boy one but.. is it bad that i felt a bit peeved that their skins are not darker? Like Natlan is based of countries that are part of the Ring of Fire and people there mostly have darker skins. I mean the three characters we saw do still have dark skin i guess? but i dont know how to explain it. It feels like the Sumeru thing all over again but im not sure tbh. I mean i havent seen anyone talking about it but then again, i dont have twitter due to how toxic the enviroment is.

Also i hope you dont mind me adding more to my analysis on Wriothesley (on the dead child thing) but the more i reread that post, the more i feel like Wriothesley sees the reader’s existence as a mockery made by the universe to him. The first time he had a family, it turns out to be fake, the second time he had a family in his kid, it was taken away from him way too soon, and then years later, the reader appears as a mocking reminder of the what he could have right now if it werent for his child’s untimely death. Like the part where you explain his confused temper, it feels like he’s in a mix of denial, bargaining, and anger from seeing the reader. He’s obviously grieving but he’s just stuck on those three parts. My guess on how his grief in stages are like would be first Depression, then it quickly turn into Denial, then after a few years and seeing the reader, it went to a mix of a small part of denial and a huge amount of anger and bargaining. And he might be stuck in that mix possibly forever. Like i said in my analysis post, to not think about his child means that he’ll be stuck grieving for a long time unless he finally decides to move on and process it all in a healthly way.. which is kinda unlikely. (Also also im glad you like my in depth analysis ^_^)

Regarding my thoughts on Natlan... ah tbh, I honestly have non to share. I have yet to really connect to it, and from what I've seen, time will tell if I'll be impressed. The skin color part is another whole thing on its own, and I won't get into it too much, as I feel like Twitter hell is doing that enough for me lmao. But I agree that it's quite odd and may be the reason as to why I don't like the character designs that much either. I also don't like how... bright, everything seems either, but that's just personal preference, lol.

Your analysis is really spot on, btw, Flower Anon!! Wriothesleys' part is extra tragic because different than the others, he has no way of getting help or coping in a healthy manner due to being in prison. So yeah, his fate is far more depressing, as he will never even be able to escape the place his child died in to begin with.

- As mentioned before in I think its the story of how hachi met emily(?) she and Viridian have beef of sorts. I have dug up some secrets on why they are like that! Apparently they have different views on what is beautiful in art. When Emily came to paris to interview Viridian, the blonde artist wasted no time into showing off his beautiful artwork to her expecting Emily to react to it like everyone has with the words “beautiful”-

Viridian : …..I’m sorry?

Emily : I mean its okay but-

- oh boy that was just the beginning of the spiral these two would take. Obviously confused (and upset), Viridian asks at Emily’s answer to which she replies that it isn’t her style of art. That lead to her showing Viridian the ugliest piece of art he has ever seen in his life.

just going to try and compile my thoughts abt it here..

so sonny wouldve moved to the city around when he was 12 bc of a business opportunity his family happily accepted

he was able to learn how to read from visiting the book store near his familys house often, but he always had a thing for learning since he was much younger and is the most literate out of all of his family members

sonny eventually began to unofficially work under the owner of the book store, but he also would work a lot of errands for the people in the area he lived in to help out his parents and was pretty loved by the community in the part of the city he stayed in :D sometimes he used the errands as an excuse to get back out in the country where he's from and explore once he 1. got older and 2. learned to ride (thanks to his friends ..)

maria and ana would live in the town closest to the city, their house was a fair distance outside of town but still maria worked a few different odd jobs to help take care of ana and their grandma, but ofc she always had a passion for photography, and sonny wouldve met her while in town on an errand at the store where she worked and the pair clicked instantly !!! i havent fully fleshed out their first encounter in my head but they just wouldve kept seeing each other in town when sonny would have to ride through and maria and him get closer when he tells her about a photographer in the city who was looking for help ..

he helps bring her back and forth from town to the city and she is able to learn more about the process of taking pictures by itself and see more outside their little town :9 ana is a bit too young to always come with her, but when she does shes always so shocked by all the people and the noise and the buildings in the city, maria always kept pictures aside to bring home to ana to show her as well as things from the city which is also something she did with connie

(previously she did live more north from where they are now) connie would live farther than ana and maria from town, way out in the country, but she would accompany her parents a lot on the trek to both the town and the city where they would sell their produce, connie and maria wouldve met as kids and maria lived for hearing about how life was on the farm, she'd never pet some of the animals connie mentioned, ofc it became more like complaints as connie got older and got more tenuous tasks from her father but still always wowed maria to hear about and she always wanted to come back to her farm but it was too far away for her when they were kids

connie wouldve seen sonny and briefly talked to him a few times in the city since she was young, but they didnt become close until maria mentioned him and her job in the city that she realized that those 2 knew each other!!!! once connie got older she had more freedom to ride into the town/city by herself, it just was that her family didnt like her going out on her own, but she had made friends in the town as well as her closest one maria and didnt like being away for too long without seeing both her and little ana since she also knew how their situation was with their grandmother's condition

she would go into town on one little errand from her mother and stay for hours just talking to maria and her friends, sneaking off into the saloon together and dancing and listening to the music :D or the whole group sneaking out just to get out of their houses to look at the country in the night, taking their first drinks of liquor together as a group, meeting up at a lake near the town/city to escape all the work and chores for a couple hours and sleeping with each other under the stars, not caring about their parents blowups the morning after

we dont have any other ithaquas in our system, which is good for me because i think id freak out over it if we did. im usually fine with doubles out of sys, as long as im in a good mood about it, but i get really iffy with others insys weirdly enough. funny how that works.

Back to Na at her room

Na's parent's finally got to to her asking if she really was not going to talk things out with her aunts and uncles. The young girl rejected their advances and asked to leave her room.

Dejected, her parents backed off and left her alone in her room. Na had still not forgiven them about how N and the others tried to defend their actions but she knew she cant keep avoiding them forever.

She browsed through the internet until she got a chat invite. Normally she would ignore sudden requests but Mi insists that she should come out of her comfort zone.

„The media already gave your existences away.” she remembered her saying the other day. „And ppl already figured out your relationship with your parents and the rest of the Stanton family. So what's the point to keep doing this charade? It will just get harder once you get older anyway.”

Her friend had a point. It didnt matter if all the posts have been deleted and that the hot searches have been taken down. By now most have seen them and the Stanton fan boys and girls probably have aready connected the dots.

Her existence has been made puplic now so she cant hide forever it seemes.

After a long pause, with some hesitancy she finally accepted the request. There was no name attached to the user, only the phone number.

A few weeks after in the big kids school

C sat on his seat talking to some of his baskeball friends until Br stormed in. Everyone in the class truned their heads to the girl. Some began to Swoon on and on about her beauty and style, while others (girls for the most part) feel uncomfortable after hearing some small rumors, on her making moves on to guys in relationships other than Fa. Mainly boys that have media/model connections. Which weren't a lot but enough to make couples stay away from her.

C turned to her as she stood next to his table: „Cous! What a Nice surprise.”, smiling at her with a mischievous grin.

But as it turned out some of his friends, aka. the friends who wanted her to come along, didnt post their posts privately. That made things worse for the boy to explain.

He still wonders why she waited to this day to ask about it. The pictures have been up a long time ago, C doesnt even talk about it with Lv anymore.

Br wanted an explanation, which was pretty difficult to do in fear to make her even more angry. N's daughter kept spouting nonsense at him. Most of it was pretty harmless. Ranging from standard whining to excessive entitlement.

C kept all his words back until she was finished.

Once she was done he made things clear. They were not exactly friends. Her mom and his step mom are related, that was about it. So he had no obligation to invite some girl he was trying to avoid for months on end. Lv and Na were the only friendly connections he had with her family.

He even let her know that since the time she was making her moves onto Fa and, and recently other girls boyfriends as well, he wanted to keep his distance for a while. Only until they have cooled off.

Br screamed at C on being resentful about things that have been ages ago. But C didnt budge, he knew she would react defensively, but he had to say it eventually.

As Br was at the edge of tears, C didn't even try to comfort her. What ever affection he had left for her had been gone a long time ago. He didnt even want to act as her big brother anymore. Those times have gone to past.

I checked cobis story, and texted jaya right away, l kept refreshing my phone while driving to work. This cant be real. But it was. The only time adulthood escapism was of any service; i was in brampton while people walked your vigil. I felt like i didnt show up for you the way you showed up for me in the west. When i came back i made sure to go to your funeral. I went alone on my bike. Found a seat and witnessed people speak on your name. Your family, your friends, and your mother. Your strong spirited mother. It was all still surreal. At your burial i was accompanied by some familiar faces, which made me feel some comfort. Your mom left fast. I wanted to stay as long as i could so i did. People came to you to say their good bye. I shied away, i didnt wanna front on anyone. One of your boys played uzi, the track you showed me in highschool. Eventually when people moved away, ivan put his arm around me and said: “come, we need to say good bye” ivan, devin, crystel and i came to see you. I put my hand on your casket and i prayed.

I prayed you found the quiet you looked for. I apologized for not putting effort to see you when i could have. And i thanked you for the music. I thanked you for the time, and thanked you for coming to see me and keeping in touch. You were always so big yet so gentle. I was far from being your closest friend, but the little bit of mutual love and respect we had for each other was enough to have me aching writing to you now. I know its meek, but i hope it is strong enough to travel to you. you really broke my heart. May your soul travel in music forever.

What Have I been watching?

A bunch of random stuff...

“Away” on Netflix. Hillary Swank talks to her character’s daughter for way too long. They keep alluding to some space mission she goes on while buttering up the “you abandoned your family” angle. I never got to the point where she justifies the decision. I didnt even get to any space stuff. There may be a good story there, but the first episode is way too boring. 2/10

“The Thing” 1982 is peak Sci Fi January. A dog is chased by some Norwegians in a helicopter all the way to an American science facility in Antarctica. The Norwegians die before anyone figures out why the hell they were doing what they were doing. Lot’s of creepy entertainment and will keep you on edge until its over. I love this movie because its one of the rare ones where everyone makes the most logical decision they have with the information they have available - nobody is dumb just to drive the plot along. Classic. 10/10

“Mobile Suit Gundam 08th MS Team” I watched this forever ago on Toonami, but I havent seen it again with adult eyes. Gundam in general isnt as cool as it was when I was 12-16, but it still can be fun. This one follows the UC timeline and mostly follows one squad leader and his team, while dealing with a particular soldier he happens to get to know during the course of their campaign on earth. I havent finished the show in recent years, so I cant recall exactly how it ends, but so far its good background tv while i disassociate for a bit after work. 8/10

“Cowboy Bebop” classic show. I havent ever finished the anime. Ever. I need to get on that and this month has been me catching up. I’d say in the past I’ve watched the first 10 episodes in random order. The show itself is a particular vibe, but when it hits it hits. 9/10

I keep trying to watch Ad Astra (2019), but my makeshift media server I have running on my old-as-hell raspberry pi keeps failing to buffer. The error in the logs talks about “Thread starvation” which I am interpreting as ‘I have 1 gig of memory available to my server on my 8 year old hobby board machine. its doing the best it can and sometimes its just not gonna do it”. This part is unrelated to sci-fi january, but i’m dragging it in because the movie seems to be worth watching. Brad Pitt has dad-related-angst and has to go to Mars because some bogin is shooting evil space rays at earth. Is it intentional? The military doesnt seem to think so, but its up to Brad to save the world or something. Let’s find out...when I decide to cast the movie instead of using the media server

Characters are tommy, qauckity, and you!

Tommy was walking through the smp one day, checking out everything, abandoned or not he went through it.

Houses, memoirs, etc. He raided some places for loot while others he went to simply because they looked scary or had a pleasing view.

Then he came across sapnap, Karl's, and quackity's old house that they all had together.

He also remembers them adopting a kid and moving them into this house too, though he didn't know the whereabouts of said kid now.

She would be what? his age? maybe a year younger? still this didn't stop him from walking in and searching the place for whatever the family of 4 left behind.

going from room to room, searching chests, drawers, and cabinets, finding somethings that could be useful to him like swords and food he then found a staircase to the second floor.

Going up the stairs Tommy sees two doors, one is cracked open and the other is closed. He goes through the open one first, it looks like the trios old bedroom and since there's nothing interesting he leaves and heads to the other door and jokingly knocks on it, not expecting an answer from the other side.

"hello?" it sounds like a girl, like Y/n!

"hello?! Y/N? what are you doing in there?" he asks concerned for her, no one has seen her in ages!

"oh, hi Tommy, im just...waiting" she says in a sort of monotone voice, like she's tired

"waiting for what exactly?" Tommy asks, he's curious to know why she's still here

"for one of my dads to unlock the door, they have the key! they locked my door every night when i fell asleep to make sure no one would get me, but one day I woke up and it never got unlocked.." she responded with sadness in her voice, Tommy tries opening the door to find its locked.

determined to get his friend out he says "how long have you've been waiting??"he asks, kinda worried for her wellbeing

"i.. don't know" she says sadly

tommy responds with "Ill go find them, I promise I'll get you out Y/N!"

in response the girl on the other side says "Really?! thank you Tommy!!!" he smiles "be right back!"

Tommy runs out of the old house and goes to find one of the men who used to live here, which one would be easier to reason with? to find? that's when he realized, Quackity is kinda of the family type, he'd be easier to find and deal with! so Tommy starts his journey to Las Nevadas.

Once he gets there the first thing he does is shout quackitys name until he walks out

"tommy what do you want, I don't have time for this!" Annoyance laced quackitys voice as he talked

"do you still have the key to Y/N's room?? she's locked in there currently! I heard her through the door" tommy's words shocked quackity

"of course, we all had keys to her room" he says firmly

"lets go get her out" was all quackity had to say as they ventured back to his old home, a place he never thought he'd go back to.

Once there Quackity knocked on Y/N's door "Sweetie? are you in there??" he sounds worried

"Papa!! hi! it's been awhile, can you please let me out?" she sounds happy, but there's a mixture of sadness, this confused Tommy a bit

"of course dear" Quackity unlocks the door and opens it only to find it empty. Him and tommy step in and find nothing as they look through it they find a body but not just any body Y/N's body, it looked decayed and old as if it had been there for years, which it most likely have. All Tommy could do is stare as Quackity fell to his knees over his child's corpse

"those two never unlocked her door when I left...they...they left her...I thought.....I thought they had her...I" Quackity couldn't handle how guilty he felt, he left and thought they would take care of her, clearly he was wrong.

Tommy knelt down beside him and comforted him as his own tears fell to the floor.

She was waiting for them

She had hope

and even after death she waited for them

for someone to unlock the door and free her

Tommy just wishes he had found her sooner

infinity train percy jackson au stuff because i'm hyperfixating

(quick disclaimer i havent read the books cause adhd but ive been digging into the story as much as i can through literally every other medium lol)

so the basics: jesse is the son of posiedon. the story would follow roughly the same plot as the first book etc, with jesse not knowing he's a demigod, shit goes down, he ends up at camp, gets a quest, etc

even though tulip fits annabeth way better than lake does, lake will take annabeth's place since yknow percy and annabeth end up together and stuff. plus i like the chemistry (i'm specfically thinking of the "you drool when you sleep" moment that's so them)

tulip sorta technically takes grover's place but she's not a satyr or protector or anything she just needs a spot in the trio and that's what's left lol. she's a daughter of hephaestus (you could argue athena for sure buuuut ive seen other ppl say hephaestus and i like that better for her, especially cause then her and lake can be twins).

some details about jesse:

nate is technically his half brother. whitney is both their moms, stephan is nate's bio dad and legal dad to both of them. i feel like their parents would at least let jesse and nate know that jesse has a different dad, but they would keep the god part to themselves to keep them safe.

so here's the backstory with whitney and poseidon (yes i thought it through this much leave me alone): whitney met poseidon when she was young and they had a thing. she knew stephan at the time, he was her closest friend but they weren't romantic. stephan supported whitney's relationship with poseidon as long as she didn't forget him, which she never did. jesse was conceived and poseidon left, as he does, but stephan was there for whitney. stephan helps raise jesse and eventually whitney falls in love (stephan had done that a while ago), and then a few years later they have nate.

jesse knows stephan isn't his bio dad but he doesn't care, they love each other just the same. it's not something a lot of people know either, it's one of the few things jesse keeps private about himself. the only people who know are immeadiate family.

so yeah, stephan and whitney don't tell the kids about the god thing to keep them safe. they're aware of CHB, and they're sure that jesse's swimming skills come from posiedon. thankfully he doesn't show any crazy powers or anything so they're not too overprotective.

upon arriving to camp, everyone's sure he's an apollo kid. the only person who isn't is lake, but that's also only because they saw him control the water. i could see jesse being put in the apollo cabin to save space in the hermes cabin despite not being claimed because they're just so sure he's apollo's son.

jesse hates fighting. he could probably be pretty decent at it if he wanted to, but he doesn't. he avoids having to learn combat as much as possible. he talks to lake about how much he hates it, and lake says he should really learn at the least the basics just for his own safety, so he agrees to let lake teach him some in private.

jesse refuses to choose a weapon, and just uses a shield and his hydrokinesis to fight but only when necessary. the shield is celestial bronze and turns into a bracelet with a charm that's a mini version of the shield.

about lake:

lake is a child of hephaestus, twin to tulip. tulip doesn't know she has a twin. lake was raised at camp and had never left, until one day, they just couldn't take it anymore and left camp. a magical deer (the yet-to-be-named alan dracula) insisted on following them, which they quickly welcomed.

lake doesn't have the usual abilities of a hephaestus kid. instead, they're more like one of his automatons, being inhumanly strong and endurant. though it doesn't look like metal, few things can truly puncture lake's skin. they've also got some pretty bad eczema and a good deal of scars, so yeah. their skin still makes them stand out.

lake especially appreciated the companionship, since once they left, they began being tailed by a monster (who's like an amalgamation of mace and sieve, haven't quite figured that part out yet).

lake wandered the country for about a month and a half, headed west. they didn't know why, they just felt compelled to head west. eventually they ended up in arizona and met jesse, and the two became friends naturally over the course of a few months.

lake had managed to throw the flec-monster off their trail for a good while, but one day, it finds them. jesse's parents hear the commotion, and upon seeing a monster, tell him to fight back. jesse doesn't know how, and lake tries to explain it to him as they realize he must be a demigod too, but lake gets knocked out. alan dracula picks up lake and urges jesse to run, and his parents tell him to follow the deer. at this point, they've realized that alan dracula had led lake to him to protect him. so jesse follows AD, and he takes them to camp half-blood.

lake isn't exactly happy to be back at CHB but that's overshadowed by them worrying about jesse. they watch over him in the infirmary.

lake grew up at camp. not quite sure how they got there, but tulip doesn't know she has a twin until she has her own little adventure where she arrives at camp aroung age 12-13. megan thinks lake (whose deadname is magnolia, maggie for short, MT for really short) is dead.

lake was probably raised by a mix of chiron, hestia, and some of the older campers when they were really young. since they're the youngest demigod the camp ever had, and since they got into so much trouble in the hermes cabin, they were moved to the big house. eventually after tulip arrived and the two of them were claimed (at the same time), they moved to the hephaestus cabin. lake honestly hates it there and wants their bed in the big house back.

lake had a habit of sneaking out of camp to explore, and because they just wanted to be able to do what they choose damnit, but never got far before being chased back in by the flec-monster. that's how they got most of the scars.

their chosen weapon is a pair of celestial bronze daggers that can turn into rings.

i really wanna do something with lake's mirror but i don't really have any ideas lol. sometimes in aus where lake's human (or in this case, part human) i just give them a birthmark on their leg or smthn, ideas are very much welcome!

now for tulip:

like i said, tulip is a daughter of hephaestus. tulip doesn't know she's a demigod until her parents take her to camp when she's about 12. they do it for her safety, and also to give her somewhere to go while they work out the divorce stuff. tulip meets lake pretty quickly and they get claimed together. tulip spends summers at camp but goes home the rest of the year.

tulip is definitely very smart and pragmatic like an athena kid, and she gets along well with just about everyone in athena's cabin. however, she doesn't like battle the way they do. she'd rather be making something than fighting. she still likes coding and brings her laptop with her to camp.

she probably made a little robot who very closely resembles one-one. he's not technically in this au but i'll give him some little cameos.

tulip attempts to bond with lake by making them cool weapons. it kinda works, but not as well as she'd hoped.

one night tulip hears lake leaving the cabin in the middle of the night. she catches up with them, and finds them all dressed and packed and equiped. she questions them, and lake just bluntly states they're leaving. tulip realizes they're serious about leaving camp. she asks them to wait and gives them some extra supplies and weapons before they leave, makes them promise not to die out there, then helps them get away from the flec-monster long enough to get headed away from camp.

tulip definitely worries about lake, mainly cause she's seen just how dangerous the flec-monster can be, but she tries to just trust lake. it's only about 6 months before lake shows back up with jesse, which is very confusing, but ultimately tulip is happy lake's back and this new kid is nice enough. a bit painfully nice, tulip takes one look at him and says he must be an apollo kid. she doesn't understand why lake is insisting he can control water. he can't be a kid of the big three, he's a dork. obviously he's not that kid from the prophecy, and lake just hit their head a little too hard when they were knocked out.

tulip has pyrokinesis, as well as the usual abilities of a hephaestus kid

her weapon is a good old sword, a special one she made that can turn into a variety of tools

a few more little things:

grace is a daughter of aphrodite who can charmspeak

simon is a son of either ares or athena, and would probably have a role very similar to luke's. i'm not gonna think about that too hard though because i have 0 interest in anything simon related lol (i also don't plan on yknow, planning out a whole plot for this so it doesnt really matter anyway)

i was thinking a lot of denizens, namely AD, the cat, atticus, tuba, etc could just be animals who were affected by the gods but i think that's kinda messy and im not gonna do that after all. but if you like the idea feel free to run w it

despite being younger and smaller lake has kicked simon's ass (in capture the flag and sparring) numerous times but simon refuses to admit it

i had a very vague idea involving medusa and reflections. that's it that's the whole idea that's all ive got

i just realized i did not think about amelia or any of the book 4 characters at all oops. sorry

so, im 20, and i started developing tics when i was 18 (i fit all the diagnostic criteria for tourette's, except that my tics developed once i was 18 instead of before). i spoke to my psychiatrist about it but he didn't suggest anything along the lines of a diagnosis, just said it might be my medication (we tried changing that and it wasnt it), and then kind of left it at "tics are strange, let's see what happens"

ive been kind of nervous of asking him for an actual diagnosis because it seems like he doesn't know a huge amount about tics, and i don't really feel like i need an official diagnosis (unless it's necessary for accommodations but i havent even started looking into those yet).

basically, i wanted to ask if you think it's okay for me to say i have tourette's? i do genuinely think i have tourette's, i've seen studies talking about how the DSM-5 might be outdated and adult-onset tourette's is a thing, but also it's just easier to say i have tourette's to people than try and explain that i have tics but i don't know exactly what it is and i don't have a diagnosis.

also slightly unrelated, but i haven't told a lot of people because my tics are often not noticeable (especially if i suppress them), and i feel really anxious telling anyone who's known me for a while bc im worried they'll think im faking since they havent seen me tic before.. if you have any advice on that its much appreciated

Hey Nonnie! First of all, I'm honored that you'd message me for advice. Thank you for being so sweet as well -- I am doing well, thank you. Now, I'm definitely not an expert, but I can give you my two cents!

While it is true that the official DSM-5 diagnosis for Tourette's requires the person to have been ticcing since before the age of 18, you're also right in saying there is some discourse about whether or not that is completely accurate. Adult-onset tic disorders are a thing, and they can happen for a variety of reasons. IMO, if you fit all the other criteria like you said, it's probably Tourette's. It's also the most well-known tic disorder, so many people will understand what it means (though they may also have some inaccurate ideas about swearing and the like.)

I will say that there are many kinds of tic disorders, and many reasons why tics could be happening. If you're sure you have Tourette's, then I'd say it's fine to say that. But if you're not, I'd just stick with telling people you have a tic disorder. If they ask questions about the diagnosis, just tell them it's currently unspecified. What's most important is that you have tics, not the label.

You know yourself better than anyone else, including your doctor, your family, your friends, etc. So, although an official diagnosis can be useful, don't feel bad about labeling it for yourself. Even if it turns out to be something else, if the label is serving a purpose for you now, or if it helps others to understand you, then I don't see a problem with it.

Getting a diagnosis can be intimidating, but if it's important to you then you need to be confident! Like I said, you know yourself better than anyone else. You need to advocate for yourself and be persistent. If your psychiatrist doesn't know much about tics, ask him if he can find out some more information to help you out, or even present him with your own findings! But, again, if you don't need accommodations and it's not affecting you too much, you may not need an official diagnosis. It's your life, and your tics.

If you do go on the diagnosis route and he isn't giving you the answers/help you need, never be afraid to seek out a second opinion! There are specialists who are trained specifically to diagnose tic disorders, which may be more helpful to you. That's how I got diagnosed when I was young.

As for telling people, in my personal experience I've found it usually goes pretty well. My tics aren't very noticeable either, so when I do tell a friend they usually say they never would have known, but nobody has ever accused me of lying or anything like that. In fact, most of the time they are interested in learning more and want to ask me questions about my tics and experiences, which I am always excited to do.

I don't know your family, so I'll try to cover my bases here... If you have the kind of parent or sibling who might try to say that they know you too well to not have noticed, try and remind them that the tics are subtle and that you may have been suppressing them. Tics can be very easy to miss when someone isn't looking for them, even when they seem obvious to you. Also tell them that it's a very recent thing (and if they question the possibility/legitimacy of that, definitely pull out the receipts lol -- articles, webpages, anything you need to). It could also go just the same as I said with friends. If anyone is particularly uptight about it, don't tolerate it. You are not faking, and anyone who thinks you are needs to get educated.

Also know that you don't NEED to tell people if you don't want to. Even your closest friend or family member is not entitled to your personal medical information if you are not comfortable with sharing it. And, if it's subtle enough that they haven't noticed yet, then they may not notice unless you bring it up. It's up to you who to tell and who not to tell.

Now, I don't know if this has been your mindset in any way, but I definitely would not recommend suppressing tics in order to avoid questions from those close to you. Your comfort is more important than theirs here!!! Ticcing is a natural thing and it is happening for a reason, listen to your body and let it do what it needs to do. I honestly would recommend never suppressing at all, but I understand that it can feel embarrassing or like everyone is looking at you, especially in public. However, in my experience, people don't really notice (even after they know about the tics if they are subtle). I want to remind you though that there is nothing to be ashamed of or embarrassed about in ticcing.
