I painted Junith Eruita and the model is a lot cooler that it seems!

When I first saw it, I thought the flying podium was ugly and stupid, with the massive eagle and the flamers at the bottom, but it's actually pretty fun, even if a pain to put together and make everything fit nicely.

And Junith is a beautiful model. I think she looks boring because the original paintjob by GW has her wearing full black robes and black armour. But with any other colour, the model is pretty nice.

She is not glued to the podium yet because I might use her for other stuff.

Cant believe it took me 8 months to get round to it, like she's been primed and just kinda sitting there since last year

Wich makes me feel really silly considering it took maybe 5 hours total spread out

Gonna be using her to lead a 10 squad of celstians with a hospitaler this weekend in some doubles games. -1hit, -1 wound, 3+/4++ save, 5+ fnp and return ~3 sounds reeeeeaallly bs and I can't wait to plant them in the middle.

Sisters Army Start Point

So this is my army's progress as of rn. Not shown are an extra unbuilt Novitiate squad (need to swap Killteam roles eventually), and 3 old metal sisters I need to base. Included are my vintage repressor, dialogus, and cherub. On the right are Novitiates with chainswords proxied as Repentia (hate the gymshorts), and in the back are some Seraphim and Zephyrim on custom sculpted Greco-Roman Pillar flightstands. Also shown is my Repressor, which is my current project alongside my Junith kitbash. Feel free to request any closeups and I'll post em, was hard to get focus on the whole batch. Bit above 1k points

“It bit Ordün, you know.” The viking considered Kunni as if he were a stupid, crippled hound, then looked over his shoulder at his brother. “Are you sure you want it?”

Errik shrugged. “If it doesn’t behave then I’ll hand it off to someone who likes to beat or fuck the fight out. Perhaps Ordün will want to avenge his thumb.”

Kunni balled his hands into fists to hide their trembling, his face hot with anger. He lowered his head to hide the reaction behind a dirty curtain of hair, but he knew it was useless the moment he risked a glance.

Errik had seen.

Vampire Whump:

"Lay down," Galen ordered. Renoc looked at the metal table-at the leather straps where his arms, legs, and throat would be-and hesitated. Galen angled his head impatiently. "I won't strap you down unless I have to."

As far as Renoc knew, the door to this lab wasn't locked. Galen was human, and Renoc was not restrained.

But where would he go? Hobbes had made it clear that Renoc’s only protection came in the form of the scientist's custody. Without Galen, he was back at Hobbes's mercy. Back in that cell, under the unrelenting rays of a prison window, starving until Hobbes decided he had suffered enough to die.

Galen had at least allowed him to eat.

Slowly, Renoc hoisted himself onto the table.

Contemporary Whump:

Will had expected Nathan to return with Junith, to drag her down by the arm and throw her back into her own cell. But he didn't, this time. Junith wasn't with him at all.

Will dared to ask, his voice a hoarse whisper, "What happened to her?"

Nathan angled his head like a curious bird. "Who?"

Will almost said Junith's name, before he remembered that he wasn't supposed to know it. "The—the woman," he answered instead.

"Mm." Nathan's mouth pressed into a thin, displeased line. He crouched on the other side of the bars, and even though he couldn't possibly reach through the glass, Will scrambled back as far as he could, curled tightly against the hard corner of his cell. Nathan didn’t seem to notice. "She didn't like what I cooked for her.”

Had the closest game i’ve had so far while learning Sisters in WH40K 10e. Lost due to a combination of factors but it was still a really good game. I learned a lot about how sisters work as an army, how their units interact with the enemy’s, and how to exploit their advantages and minimize their weaknesses. Key takeaways are:

1. Crusaders and Pengines are fucking amazing lmfao. Crusaders are incredible targets for the Suffering stratagem and can generate a staggering victory point value for their cost, Pengines you can just ram up anything’s ass at a high velocity and tie it up in melee or you can Tank Shock. I was playing at 1k points and even just 3x2 units of Crusaders and 3x1 units of Pengines forced my Necron playing friend to play at my tempo. Having so many units also means I had more deployment chances which means a more flexible deployment. Having so many units i could trash meant more miracle die for meltaguns and guaranteed charges.

2. Adepta Stratagems are unbelievably good. Suffering and Sacrifice lets you dump massive amounts of enemy damage into a black hole. I forgot to use it but Light of the Emperor lets you ignore -1 to Hit/Wound (which would’ve been helpful against those fucking LYCHGUARD AAA). Divine Intervention makes solo character units such a bitch to clear (and i just had the thought you could abuse the enhancement that gives you bonus miracle dice with that huh). Holy Rage makes even CCW sisters melee semi-decent and drives good melees in sisters bonkers.

3. Sisters Epic Heroes are hella goated. Daemonifuge is a great assassin unit, Triumph brings so much utility and melee power, Junith Eruita as a leader brings lots of survivability with -1 to Hit and bonus CP.

Painting Junith Eruita and I'm surprised that is actually a fun model. Junith herself is beautiful, and the pulpit is pretty nice too. Anything below the eagle is kind of a mess TBH.

I don't even know what colour to paint the little things under the eagle. I'm going for gold and red, but I'm not liking it. Would love to hear people's ideas.

So I have a doubles tournament coming up and I've had her on the back burner for 8 months, I think it's well past time that I finish

Still not exactly sure how I want to do the flamers or her but the puppet itself is finally doners!
