When Whumpee, restrained and pulled along by the arm, tries to look over their shoulder—at Caretaker calling for them, or maybe Whumper’s self-assured smirk—but their head is shoved back down and they’re ordered gruffly to keep walking.

When Caretaker catches Whumpee’s hands shaking so Whumpee hides them from view, determinedly ignoring the concern on Caretaker’s face.

When Whumper catches Whumpee’s hands shaking and their smile widens, because Whumpee can’t hide fear from them when their hands are bound.

When a stoic Whumpee is seen fraying at the edges. They ignore the way their hands shake, their breaths are uneven, and only a thin, straining thread of will is keeping them upright.

Maybe they’ve been poisoned. Maybe they’ve worn themself past exhaustion. Maybe Whumper has found a secret to use against them, and they are fighting to remain in control of themself.

And they are failing.

Grab Whumpee by the throat and slam their body against a wall. Results may vary.

Whumpee, limp, beaten, and half conscious bound up on the hard floor. Whumper kneeling down in front of them and grabbing whumpee's chin, pulling their face up to look at them without resistance as whumpee's head lolls and their eyes fail to fully focus.

We love a nice gun barrel used to brush Whumpee’s hair out of their face. We love when the cold metal passes over a bruise and presses down gently, drawing out a wince or a groan.

It’s a good day to grab Whumpee by the hair and shove their head underwater.

Whumpee losing their voice to screaming, unable to answer Whumper or beg them to stop. The only sounds they can make now are quiet gasps and high, broken whimpers.

A Whumpee who, at the start of their captivity, challenged Whumper’s stare. Glaring openly, fists clenched around the bars of their cell, undeterred by the threat of Whumper’s approach.

That same Whumpee, weeks or months or years into their captivity, flinching when they hear Whumper’s footsteps in the corridor. Whimpering at the sound of a key fitting a lock. Curling up tighter in the farthest corner of their cell, unable to meet Whumper’s eyes.

Magical Whump—specifically magical bondage—my most underrated beloved:

Whumper possessing the body or mind of Whumpee, forcing them to act/think a certain way

Physical entrapment through enchantments, spells, magic objects, or curses (my personal favorite being magicked jewelry—something pretty and delicate used as an unlikely form of bondage)

A mind-reading Whumper who sees Whumpee’s thoughts as something that belongs to them (bonus points if Whumpee goes a little mad from it)

Whumpee forced to overuse their own magic; nosebleeds, blackouts, even suffocation.

Whumper using the elements against a Whumpee with elemental magic (ex: locking a fire-wielder in a freezer, suffocating an air-wielder, etc.)

Whumpee used as an unwilling source for magic that requires a blood sacrifice

Whumpee’s own magic being siphoned out of them and into Whumper, who treats them like a bottomless well of power (they’re not)

Magical contracts! Unbreakable!! Signed in blood!!! What if Whumpee were forced to sign such a contract?
