I’ve been thinking recently about how a key aspect of Steven Universe is that Steven is placed in the narrative position of what might normally be filled by a standard fantasy-hero-shounen-protagonist-guy, while EVERYTHING about Steven as a character is all about going in basically the exact OPPOSITE direction of that archetype. To the point where the one time he actually TRIES acting like some typical shounen-protag to solve his problems in Future, it’s presented as this gross, twisted perversion of his character that goes horribly, HORRIBLY wrong. Basically, the show makes it clear that Steven trying to act like your standard ‘cool, badass anime hero guy’ is very much a BAD and WRONG thing. Like in anime terms, Steven is essentially a Magical Girl placed in a position that was meant for a Shounen Hero. Or in a more specific reference building off of the show’s numerous references to Dragon Ball Z, Steven essentially represents a take on Gohan who’s kindness and pacifism are ultimately allowed to be presented and emphasized as a strength rather than a weakness.

Yet the flipside of all this is that even in their few appearances, has anyone else noticed that Stevonnie shows quite a few of these ‘cool, badass anime hero guy’ traits? They have a cool sword, they race cars, they fight space battles in a starfighter, they get badass fight scenes like getting to 1v1 Jasper and get to say cool one-liners. And the funny thing is, NONE of these are ever presented as somehow ‘wrong’ for the character. Heck, going off of the same references to Dragon Ball Z, Stevonnie has a bunch of design similarities to Future Trunks of all characters, one of THE iconic ‘cool, badass anime hero guys’.

And I think that’s really interesting.

Like in-universe, it says some interesting things about how Fusion works. That Steven himself trying to act like a cool, badass anime hero guy is a BAD thing because it leads him to start rejecting many of the core aspects of who he is as a person, namely his kindness and empathy.

Whereas Stevonnie is their OWN person, distinct from Steven and can exhibit these traits just fine because they clearly got them from Connie. They clearly haven’t abandoned or rejected any of the core aspects of Steven such as his kindness and empathy, they just ALSO have all this other stuff from Connie as well and can exhibit these traits without actually losing anything. They are after all, everything from Steven and Connie and more.

And narratively, I think it makes for a fun inversion. Steven represents this big subversive take on the typical fantasy hero archetype by being this young BOY with a big, heroic destiny who is defined by his kindness, empathy, emotions, a general disdain for solving problems through fighting and generally rejecting the typical ‘cool, badass, anime hero guy’ traits.

So it’s actually rather fitting that it is the non-binary, intersex, very-much-NOT-cisgender-male, fusion Stevonnie who ends up getting to do more traditional ‘cool, badass, anime hero guy’ stuff. Who in turn got much of those traits NOT from Steven, but from his best-friend/partner/girlfriend Connie.

And I just think that’s pretty cool, you know? Particularly when imagining a permafused Stevonnie. Like I think its fun to imagine an alternate take on the later seasons of the show, or just post-series, with a permafused Stevonnie doing more traditional anime-protagonist stuff that would otherwise feel out of place with Steven, but doesn’t feel out of place with them.

For example, Steven never went through any kind of big ‘training arc’ like so many anime heroes because that just doesn’t fit who he is. Steven is not a ‘fighter’, he always tries to talk things out before things turn to combat. So it makes sense that he wouldn’t directly pursue training to become a better fighter on his own.

But Connie DID. And of course that wasn’t presented in and of itself a bad thing. Which as an aside, is interesting for Steven as his joining was more to support Connie rather being presented as something he needed to do himself.

And speaking of fighting, this is another place where the differences between Steven and Connie make Stevonnie in turn all the more INTERESTING. Because whereas Steven isn’t a fighter, Connie very much IS. The symbolic sword to Steven’s shield.

Now where this gets interesting is that in practice, Connie generally follows Steven’s lead. We see a number of instances wherein Connie likely wants to or even is full-on about to launch into a fight, but backs down because Steven wants to talk things out. Connie may be a fighter, but she also generally defers to Steven.

But what happens when these two aspects are coexisting in the same person? What happens when Connie’s preference towards fighting isn’t deferring to Steven’s preference towards non-violence, but is rather exhibited right alongside it? And because of that is seen by Stevonnie as a much more valid option?

What does Stevonnie’s response to conflict look like when they’re much more of a fighter like Connie, while still retaining Steven’s intrinsic kindness and empathy?

Personally, I imagine Stevonnie actually being a fair bit like Ruby Rose, ie; someone who often tries to talk things out, while also not hesitating to jump into a fight if people aren’t willing to negotiate. Perhaps even reading the situation/people enough to get a preemptive strike off.

And all that is just one aspect of what I think makes Stevonnie so compelling as a character.

This takes place after the events of the comic "A tale of two stans"

Stanley, Luz and the rest of the Hex squad were trapped in the human realm after the events of "King's Tide", After some time trying to find a way to bring the children home, Stanley, along with Ford, decide to investigate further.

Everything else follows its course until Halloween night, where Dipper and Mabel join the action.

Luz, Ford and Stan are separated from the group by Hunter, who is becoming increasingly anxious and paranoid.

And when Luz and Hunter disappear into the woods, Stan's first instinct is to run after them.

Stan had already formed a special bond with those children, if something were to happen to them, he would never forgive himself.

Kim Soohyun "I Was Jealous of the Perfect King Lee Hwon"

"The senior is here."

The junior, who had just come back from lunch, pointed me in the direction. There, in front of me, was Kim Soohyun, the star of the drama The Moon Embracing the Sun (hereafter The Moon), which everyone in the nation had watched. Since it was a naturally quiet place, there wasn’t much noise, but the focused gaze made it clear that the atmosphere was different from usual.

In person, he looked even smaller than on TV. His face was small. I first noticed his eyes. It was no wonder that Kim Min-seo, who played the Queen, might have felt unfair (she also had a small face but was often compared to Kim Soohyun, especially with the traditional hat). He was tall, though, with a small face and a tall frame. While admiring his good proportions, Kim Soohyun smiled and greeted me with a pleasant, well-placed smile.

"Hello, I’m Kim Soohyun."

He had a unique way of speaking, with each word clearly pronounced and a slight extension at the end. His greeting, “An. Nyeong. Ha. Se. Yo. Oh,” sounded like it had a playful, quirky touch. His personality seemed bright. As I continued to observe him, I began the interview.

"I got excited after watching the original."

Kim Soohyun shared his thoughts on The Moon. He felt a sense of fun from the project proposal that had been given to the company, became curious about the original, and, upon watching it, fell deeply into it. From then on, it was a period of waiting. There were rumors that Kim Soohyun had personally visited the writer (Jin Su-wan), but it wasn’t true. However, his passion during that waiting period was no less intense than if he had gone to visit her himself.

"I think I nagged a lot. I was so curious about how the production was going, whether there were any updates. As I saw the synopsis and read the script, I became more and more excited and wanted to be part of it."

A Man with a Lot of Tears
In the beginning, there were criticisms that his acting was excessive. He even mentioned that Baek Yong-jun told him it could look too exaggerated. Although he didn’t always hear positive feedback, Kim Soohyun stood strong and created a charming King Lee Hwon amidst the towering senior actors in The Moon. He shyly smiled, admitting that he had been frustrated by the powerful performances of his senior actors. Regardless, The Moon became a life-changing project for him. Like Lee Hwon's lines, it was a project he "couldn’t forget even if he tried."

"On the last day of filming, all the actors were on set. When the 'cut' was called, and the director said, 'Our Hwon, thank you for all your hard work,' and hugged me, I almost teared up. I tried to hold back tears, but then I happened to lock eyes with Jeong Eun-pyo senior, and I couldn’t hold back anymore. Ahh."

After the last filming, Kim Soohyun hugged Jeong Eun-pyo and cried heavily. That moment was widely covered in the news. Those who know him understand that Kim Soohyun is actually a man who cries often. He recalled an incident from 2008 during the youth drama Jungle Fish, where he cried so much that it startled the press. The reason for his tears was that he felt his acting was inadequate. Looking back at that time made him a bit embarrassed.

"After that, I think I changed a bit. Before, I acted without fear because I didn’t know any better. But once I began to understand, I became more cautious. I think I learned how to be careful after Jungle Fish."

He also mentioned that he enjoys crying, as he believes the emotions and feelings that come with tears are precious to him.

"I try to feel extreme emotions, like happiness or sadness, because I think it helps with my acting. I cry when I’m sad, but afterward, I feel a sense of relief. It’s strangely comforting. People around me worry that I might not be able to handle these emotions, but when I’m happy, I want to feel it to the fullest, and when I’m sad, I want to experience the pain fully."

"I Want to Buy a House for My Parents"

He wanted to earn a lot of money to buy a house for his parents. Even if it was just words, his parents would be proud of their son.

Kim Soohyun is already focusing on his next project, as The Moon has ended. He is preparing for the release of the film The Thieves in July. In this film, he plays a character who has a one-sided love for Jun Ji-hyun. There’s a kiss scene in the movie, which has already sparked interest.

"I’m born in the year of the dragon. At first, I was worried when starting the drama, but I’m glad to have met such a good project. I’m starting the Year of the Dragon on a positive note. I hope The Thieves will be as successful as The Moon."

Sinopsis: Los cuerpos celestes algo enuncian en medio a su misterio. La luna se hace roja, el planeta llora, la caída es más profunda de lo que podríamos imaginar. Oculto, algo al asecho. En el medio, un réquiem o quizás una elegía. Lo incierto como camino que nos lleva a una catástrofe que no sabemos si es pasada, presente o futura. Pero que sin duda es memoria profunda de un oscuro secreto. Los susurros rotos de una selva herida.

Synopsis: The celestial bodies enunciate something in the midst of their mystery. The moon turns red, the planet cries, the fall is deeper than we could imagine. Hidden, something lurks. In the middle, a requiem or perhaps an elegy. The uncertain as a path that leads us to a catastrophe that we do not know if it is past, present or future. But which is undoubtedly a deep memory of a dark secret. The broken whispers of a wounded jungle.

Firmaron por la compañía Transatlantic, que les editó el álbum Children of the Sun en 1968 ..luego paso como bajista en Kevin Ayers & The Whole World publicando SHOOTING TO THE MOON y WhatEverSheBringsWeSing..luego ficho por VIRGIN RECORDS que lanzó como 1er disco TUBULLAR BELLS seguido de HERGEST RIDGE [promocionado con un anuncio que decía originalmente que el álbum estaba disponible en «Virgin (Virgen) y otras inmaculadas tiendas de discos», pero tuvo que ser modificado debido a las posibles objeciones que pudiera presentar la Iglesia católica.]..

Sonic: Blue Moon - Chapter 5 {Mi Casa es Su Casa}

The nice morning outside, the trees rustle with the breeze that sweeps through the leaves. The sun is peeking through the clouds that hang in a cheerfully bright sky. Inside a cozy bedroom lies our blue hedgehog, still going under the altered moniker “Nic”. His fur and quills are all frazzled and mussed up from him tossing and turning all night. It’s been a month or so since his old childhood friend, Princess Sally Acorn, offered him a change of scenery and much-needed companionship since catching up outside of his former place of residence where he was residing for who knows how long.

Nic wakes up, his eyes stinging as he opens them. He goes into the bathroom that adjoins his new living space and finds the contacts that once made his eyes hazel fall out. He would been averse to seeing his former verdant globes if they…somehow didn’t catch the light in a certain way he liked. It was like he forgot how he looked.

He left the memory of his hazel disguise and put on some clothes, a loose graphic tee that was very nerdy and some old gym shorts, he brushed his teeth and went out of his space into the wider area of Sally’s abode, which was situated roughly in the middle of Mystic Jungle and Empire City. It was very much a cozy place Nic found himself; the wooden beams and floors that were made of very warm-toned wood, seeing the grains of each part. The almost regal furniture, combined with the modern trappings of everyday life like a television and a device that responds to voice.

“Mornin’, Sally! How’re ya doing? Sleep well?” Nic responded, rubbing the sleep out of his now-green eyes. “Morning, uh, Nic. Slept well. Looks like you did too. You got your green eyes back. Decided to finally get those contacts outta your life for good?” Sally responded, smiling a bit. It was nice seeing a bit of this heroic version of her friend she kept hearing about.

“Yeah. Guess the contacts I got years ago fell out into a place last night? I’d have looked for them, but seeing my eye’s natural hue just…made me feel better. They caught the light from my window and…I just forgot all about them.” Nic responded, his brow furrowing in a tender, mild nostalgia. But he brought himself back from that comforting place in his mind and refocused himself.

“Anyways,” Nic asked, “You got breakfast goin’? Or am I gonna have to mess up your kitchen again?” Sally laughed, “Yeah, got some going. Scrambled eggs, with nuts, veggies, and diced mushrooms.”

Nic lets out a low whistle. “Sounds good. Lemme know when it’s ready. Gonna go take my morning jog.” Nic said, getting his phone and earbuds. “Should be ready in about ten minutes. See you then?” Sally notified Nic, as well as wanting clarification he’ll be back.

“I’ll be back before you know it,” Nic said with a laugh and headed out into the outside. With that, Nic began his routine now he had much more space; a morning jog around the forest area. He was listening to some music, taking in the nature he found himself surrounded by. But a noise he didn’t expect got the hedgehog to slow, wondering what was there. He thought it was just a deer or some fox, but a certain mechanical sound got him to take the earbuds that he was listening to music with.

Before Nic could even respond to what was going on, a fist of cold metal hit his face and then his torso, sending him careening through trees. His phone, earbuds, and clothes were all in shreds and pieces. The pain rocked through his body, scars apparent in his skin, and bits of wood and dirt stuck in his quills.

“Ngh… what the hell was that?” Nic shakily asked himself, before looking up to get his answer. It was a robot; roughly built like… well, like Nic! A shock rushed through Nic; his face contorted and stretched into an expression befitting someone looking at a monster rising from the ocean.

“No way! I… saw you… go into the ocean! You should’ve been made into rust by now!!” Nic yelled out at the copycat robot.

The robot attacked, but… Nic stood still in fear! He was a hedgehog in headlights; only waiting for the impact. But it never came, for in front of him— in the nick of time— was Sally, bearing a sword and shield.

“Son—, er, Nic… are you okay?” Sally asked while trying to hold off the robot. Nic nodded, saying “Yes, I am. I’m a bit scuffed, but I’ll live.”

Good," Sally said simply. "Go back home," she ordered. Nic was surprised to hear this and tried to argue against it. "But, Sal! You’ll need help! Lemme just—!

Sally looks back at Nic; her blue eyes boring deep into Nic, her expression like that of a tense leader. "Go back home! Now! You haven't been in a fight in years; the last thing I need is to see a friend I am helping die because he wanted to protect his pride! I've seen too much of that back home! Now go!"

Nic is surprised to see this stern behavior in an old friend.

‘As much I can’t stand leavin’ Sally behind like this; she’s got this for now. Besides, I’ve not been in a fight for ten years and my muscle memory is outta whack right now. If I stick around, I’d just be dead weight for her to worry about.’ Nic thought to himself.

“All right, Sal. You got this one. Cut this bucket of bolts like it’s nothing!” Nic said with a grin, going to bolt away back home.

The robot tries to pursue Nic, but is cut off by the sword-wielding squirrel.

“Eyes on me, you copycat! I’m Princess Sally Acorn; descendant of Alicia and Maximillian Acorn! You won’t be able to live another day!”

“…I could assist with that.” said an unknown voice from the treetops. Sally looked before seeing another Mobian in front of her. A light purple cat with a red jewel in the middle of their forehead.

“I’m a royal myself. Princess Blaze of the Sol Kingdom, at your service.” Blaze said, bowing before Sally.

“Now then, shall we dispose of this nuisance? I need to talk to you and your friend quickly.” Blaze said, going to ready herself to help Sally in battle.

This is my take on Pink Diamond XD I actually attempted to make a background this time. My dream voice actor for her would be Mariah Carey! i hope we finally get some more lore on her in Stranded.
