Hanako

You’ve piqued his interest! Will ask you what you mean whenever you switch languages

If you switch because you don’t remember how to say it in the language so you say it in another, he won’t make fun of you and will help you remember the word if you want

“And it was hanging on the ceiling it was bright and pretty—it was… uh-“

“A chandelier?” He asks and becomes happy and says ‘yay’ when you tell him yes

If you like to randomly switch over then he tries to remember the words and also will attempt to pronounce it. He’s very curious and is up to learning if you want to teach him and wouldn’t mind if you tease his pronunciation and would just playfully be mad at you

Kou Minamoto

Be ready to be bombarded with questions about the language and will try to learn it

Stays up at night studying about it so much that it starts to be concerning to Teru and you, and ends up with the two of you having to prey him away from his desk and get some rest

Never shames if you can’t get the exact words right and will never tease you! Might correct you sometimes or will help you remember but never makes fun of you

At some point, he ends up knowing the language pretty well and whenever you’re over at his place, you two end up talking in that language with Teru wanting and begging to know what you two are talking about and Tiara not caring

Nene Yashiro

Thinks your so cool and awesome for knowing/learning another language and looks at you with starry bright eyes with her mouth open in shock

If you can’t remember a word then she’ll try to help, although she might not get it right all the time and it would just end up being a guessing game between the two of you

“Hmmm… is it mirror?” She asks and hums again when you say no as you both wonder what the word could be with your hands under your chin as you both think

She might try to learn the language but she won’t always get it right so don’t make fun of her, her heart won’t be able to take it

She won’t ever make fun of you though! She can’t bear the thought of being mean to you!

Tbhk Ch120 Analysis:

#1: Teru did not kill Kou on accident or by reflex.

I’ve seen this take on tumblr and Twitter and I disagree. As much as I like the poetic irony of Teru’s violence towards supernaturals causing him to hurt whose he’s sworn to protect from them, I think it’s wrong.

As Teru blasts Kou, Teru is already upset.

Comedy moments in the manga aside, this is the 1st time we’ve ever seen Teru visibly devestated. Prior to this he has always, consistently approached supernatural danger with whimsy and lighthearted cheer. Even when there were dire stakes:

Teru after realizing Aoi was essentially dead after coming getting kidnapped by Number 6. (Ch70)

Teru in ch79, after learning his baby brother went into the notably deadly Red House. (Ch79)

Teru after getting betrayed and apprehended in the Clock Keepers’ boundary. Where they’re supposed to be “undefeatable.” (Ch109)

The uniting factor is that Teru had some level of control. That there wasn’t any true danger/death. He’s gonna get Aoi back, he had faith in Kou to not succumb to the house’s wishes, and you can’t die in boundaries (applies to when the gang got jumped by Num 6 too).

Here, Teru is devastated — not bc Teru is sacred that Kou may get hurt (active threat) but bc Teru knows Kou is already dead.

Look at how Teru walks to the well immediately.

Teru isn’t falling to his knees like “Wait, I didn’t mean to kill him. What have I done?“

He walked there immediately. With intent.

He’s not acting like someone who’s killed his brother on accident. On reflex. He’s acting like someone who knows. Who’s already grieving. Who’s checking for confirmation.

Confirmation that his little brother died in that well. Has been dead.

This isn’t a boundary or fictional world. That is the real Kou — just of a different timeline — and in this one he died. No control, no games, no convenient truth. And Teru couldn’t protect him.

Hanako

He was a little scared of you at first, but with him putting up a confident appearance, he was able to talk to you like you were any other student, except for how it looked like you didn’t seem to care at all about anything

It’s while you’re both having a conversation with Kou and Yashiro involved that he realizes you never really smile or laugh even though Yashiro accidentally dropped the mop bucket causing her and Kou to fall, which was pretty funny to Hanako

He tries to make you smile as much as he can and if you tell him you are happy then he just figures that’s how you are and will tease you for being so stoic

“Look at [name]! Can’t you tell they’re happy?” Hanako said to Kou and Yashiro who only stared puzzled because you looked far from happy

If you’re even insecure about it then he’ll reassure you it’s nothing bad and if anyone makes fun of you then he’ll just have to prank them a little

Tsukasa Yugi

Isn’t bothered by your lack of facial expressions at all and finds it to be very entertaining instead and constantly teases you about it

Makes it his mission to make you smile and will whine about it you to smile. Though he does know that sometimes that you are happy but it doesn’t show it so it just becomes a little game to him to guess if you’re happy or not

“Isn’t [name] the cutest when they smile?” Tsukasa cheerfully said as he puts the ends of your lips upwards to make you smile while you just let it happen. Natsuhiko and Sakura stared blankly at the sight.

If anyone ever makes fun of you for being so stoic, then Tsukasa will gladly deal with them with a giggle and mischievous smile

Kou Minamoto

He was honestly terrified from you, it felt like you were judging him and thought lowly of him but immediately felt bad when he found out that’s just how you are and apologized profusely even if you didn’t know what he thought of you before

He hopes to one day see a smile from you even if it’s a small one so he’ll often invite you to hang out to hopefully catch a small smile. Has definitely joined in with Tiaras silly games when you were over his house to hopefully see you smile. Also let Teru cook once just to show you how much of a bad cook he is so you can laugh

“Show me how happy you are!” Kou said, urging you to smile with a smile of his own plastered on his face. “What do you mean? I am happy, don’t you see my smile?” You questioned. “Oh… umm-“

Will defend you no matter what if anyone makes fun of you, it’s not your fault after all

Man the truth was really starring us right in the face this chapter. Going back there were so many signs about what happened to Kou. Like:

The way he knows that people have been killed and doesn’t elaborate, saying that he can’t turn back the world. His hand turning freaking TRANSPARENT!!! (That one I’m kinda mad at myself for not catching beforehand) it really just adds to the tragedy of it all. Like he was dead before any of us knew it, and the only way out now is to turn back the clock
