Joyce will compare her over-radiation to Harry's deal, and Harry can compare his deal to the Paledriver's over-radiation. Shivers seems to grow stronger the closer Harry is to the church (the check to find the coat, the check to find Ruby at the Feld building, Revachol speaking to Harry, etc). It seems pretty clear to me that Harry's weird psychic abilities and memory loss are symptoms of over-exposure to pale.

This makes it even more interesting that Harry has had similar blackouts before and had an interest in entroponetics. It sounds like he was probably exposed somehow even before he ended up in Martinaise, maybe even knew of another hole. It all raises so many questions!!

my opinions on harry potter character’s accents:

lily- northern, manchester (like), she’s from a working class family in an industrial town, and she was proud of her accent!!

snape- see above! but he got rid of the accent when he got in with the death eaters bc he was insecure/posing and as an adult speaks exactly like alan rickman did (can’t build on perfection)

petunia- see above! also worked hard to get rid of/hide her working class accent and adopted an estuary accent like vernon

james- a posh mf, raised in the country but like the crawley’s spoke rp

sirius- spoke like he was a sloane ranger hanging out with princess di

remus- idk who started the “lupin is welsh” thing but i’m for it

dumbledore- whatever oscar wilde’s accent was, he spoke like that

harry- i think he would also have that estuary/middle class southern accent bc that’s where he was raised & that’s prob how everyone spoke. he would try to sound as undursley as possible but he would still be in that vein of middle class southern accent

hermione- i actually have no idea where she’s from. but my safe bet is that her accent is similar to harry. her parents are middle/upper middle class probably southerners

weasley family- apparently they’re near devon so they have a west country accent

tom riddle- inexplicably spoke received pronunciation english despite being raised in a london orphanage. none of the workers could figure out how he achieved this but just added it to their list of strange things that tom kid does
