I wanted to make a post about Martians in Young Justice because I know that it's not necessarily the easiest thing to remember.

(M'gann and her uncle, J'onn)

So let's start it off with M'gann's family. M'gann's parents are M'aatt M'orzz and J'ann M'orzz (interestingly enough, martians wives seem to take their husband's last names after marriage). M'gann's mom, J'ann, is J'onn J'onzz's sister. It seems that martian families tend to use the same first letter when naming their children.

M'gann has 12 sisters and 17 brothers but we've only met one of each. M'comm M'orzz, who is now calling himself Ma'alefa'ak, is M'gann's misguided little brother. Misguided is putting it nicely, the guy is a terrorist, but hopefully he can be redeemed for M'gann's sake. Em'ree J'onzz, born M'ree M'orzz, is M'gann's little sister and is the lead expert of zeta technology on Mars.

Alright so now let's get into the Martian races. Despite the fact that they're all basically genetically identical minus skin coloration and the fact that they can shapeshift, racism is rampant on Mars to the point of almost being in an all out race war.

There are Red Martians (B'lahdenn), Yellow Martians (Y'ellonn), Green Martians (G'arrunn) and White Martians (A'ashenn).

The Martian society views the 'pecking order' so to speak as B'lahdenn > Y'ellonn > G'arrunn > A'ashenn.

The B'lahdenn are royalty and only Martians from a royal blood line will be B'lahdenn so they are held above the rest. Notable B'lahdenn are the Queen, J'arlia J'axx, and the prince, J'emm J'axx.

Y'ellonn is actually not a 'race' in a traditional sense, any martian of any race could be Y'ellonn, they just have to be able to perform magic. Y'ellonn's permanently shapeshift their skin to be yellow and are highly respected in Martian society. Notable Y'ellonn are S'yraa S'mitt.

G'arrunn are the ethnic majority. They are just average Martians who are green. Notable G'arrunn are J'onn J'onzz, J'ann M'orzz and Em'ree J'onzz. B'arzz O'oomm, the Green Beetle, is another notable G'arrunn. R'ess E'dda is the jerk G'arrunn who tried to shut down Em'ree's project and keeps being generally villainous.

A'ashenn is the ethnic minority. They are viewed as less than because of their skin color. Notable A'ashenn are M'gann M'orzz, M'aatt M'orzz and M'comm M'orzz.
