A quick step by step on wiring resinsoul jointed hands!
The first step is just to get you wire down one finger tip, out the bottom them back up into its neighbor. It's the easiest part. I also tend to skip the thumb completely because I'm lazy.
Then turn the end of one of the wires into a tiny hook.
With patience, hook that around the pot of the fingertip.
Then use your printer to snag it and pull it through.
At this point you can trim it and just bend the top of the wire back down out of sight.
Repeat for all 4 fingers and you have some mostly wired hands. I've just decided personally the thumb isn't worth the effort.

Dear dolls with jointed hands in my collection: Fuck you, stop bending your thumbs like that when I just want you to hold shit. Stop acting like a dead octopus when I want you to hold a fucking sword

had a conversation with my mom and now i'm curious
If unsure, go grab yourself a pencil and compare to these examples:
"Correct" ways to hold a pencil:
(if you didn't know there were names for these, yea I had no idea either until I started looking stuff up lmao)
"Wrong" ways to hold a pencil:
I'm mostly curious as someone who has always held her pencil wrong. No matter what teachers/my mom ever did to try and teach me (pencil grips, elastic bands, etc) it just never worked. I wanna know how universal this experience is hdKJH
(rb for sample size, etc etc, the usual)

has anyone used finger braces/ring splints for hyperextension (or hypermobility in general)? i've casually looked into them before but as of this week i've just about had it and i think need to get serious, so i'm curious what other people's experiences have been or if anyone's got recommendations/tips/whatever

The finished goat! She does not yet have a dress, but the designer who made this pattern also has other patterns the same size and the clothes are interchangeable, so I’m considering alternate goat wardrobe options (I’m thinking maybe pants and a sweater, or a skirt and a poofy shirt?)

jointed hands: great in theory, finicky spiders in practice. the day a vinyl company comes out with hands that have hinges/internal skeleton I’m getting pairs for all my dolls even if I’ll have to mod them to attach on a s-hook.
