As I sit here trying to decompress after an exhausting, LONG and trying day I have to remind myself of how I felt this morning. I was enjoying a warm cup of coffee replaying the events from the day before. Fighting back a kool-aid smile as I tried to play it cool. I felt rejuvenated and alive. As if wasn't 5a & all my dreams already came true. Maybe I was still dreaming but I honestly felt like a million bucks. My soul was legit giddy. The day began and one thing after the other began to unravel and fall apart. I Put my head down and just went to work addressing all issues. Then the most trying of them all. A difficult situation where I AGAIN sat their (alone) and dealt with an abusive individual who felt the need to patronize and condescend. I met the limit of my patience and danced with the thought of throwing in the towel and completely loosing my cool & job. As my ears burned and my hands shook from the adrenaline and every single emotion running thru my body I thought I will get thru this with my dignity held high! Minutes later as I was able to process the madness I coached myself and reminded myself CHIN UP. My soul was content with the attempts I made in assisting this individual and my conscious was clean. I did my job to the best of my ability and I wasn't going to have anyone tell me otherwise. I was proud of myself for how far I've come as an individual, a woman and professional. I had more cojones than everyone else including my superiors and those with higher education. ME✋🏽 this chick right here. I am SO freakin proud of myself not because I didn't reach over my desk and completely lose my cool but because I proved to myself and others that I am a good manager, good business woman and I hold the keys to my own success. I am much more powerful than I give myself credit for. This right here is EVERYTHING! Sometimes we focus on the “big” numbers where hoping to reach, the big ticket items we’re saving for or that DREAM you’re working hard to achieve that you forget the small daily victories. Every Saturday I weigh in. Hoping to see large weekly numbers. 5 or more. Since starting my journey I have NEVER hit a weight loss more than 4lbs per week. And every week I find myself disappointed. But while I’m writing down my goals for the next few months and reviewing my progress since my official start in October I’m 😯. I reached my half way point and did nothing about it. Chipping away slowly and like a FOOL I did not celebrate or acknowledge it. I failed to Celebrate an EPIC win, an achievement I have been unable to attain in 4 years! An even bigger WIN my plan to live an active life is NOW second nature and IN FACT a LIFESTYLE. My goal to motivate others thru action IS ACTUALLY happening right in front of my eyes. Foolish me for being too preoccupied with things I cannot control. Foolish me for falling into the trap and not RECLAIMING MY TIME! It is time! Time to remember my WHY. Time to review my GOALS TIME to devise a NEW COURSE OF ACTION! The fitness and nutrition plans are golden. My plan will continue to propel me to physique and endurance I’ve always wanted. But it’s the “other stuff” I have to rethink. The personal development that will prove WITHOUT QUESTION the JMe from 2017 is not the JME of 2018. 2017 was timid and too afraid of reaching for the stars. 2018 JMe sees the stars she wants and is NOW climbing up the latter she’s building herself!
