I respect people for their beliefs, but non-Christians need to understand that they can't say they don't believe in Jesus

It's one thing to not believe He's the messiah, but historians- including atheistic ones- can come to a consensus that Jesus of Nazareth was a real historical figure

I never brought it up, the day he died.

It felt too sensitive, too personal. Too cruel. But as he held me in his arms, giving me his perfect comfort, I wondered if it was okay.

I was still half asleep, curled up in a ball and tucked safely against his chest. I loved falling asleep this way, truly. It felt like home.

His fingers were laced in my hair as usual, running them through it like he was fascinated by it, something he himself had created.

Yet as the gentle feeling slowly awoke me from my dreams, the same thing caught my attention, the same thing I was too nervous to ask about.

His hands.

I took a deep breath in as the fogginess in my head began to dissipate, forcing me further into consciousness. But it was okay, because he was here.

I went to rub my eyes before peering up into his. His gaze was nearly too gentle to be true. But I believed in him. I yawned and searched for his hands until mine slid right into his, intertwining our fingers.

His calloused thumbs ran over my hands. It was so interesting remembering things about his life. He was a carpenter right? I wonder what sort of things he’d made back then.

But there was something else on my mind right now.

I almost didn’t have the courage to ask, considering who he was. But my thumbs trailed over the backs of his hands and I finally let my question be made known.

“Did it hurt?” I whispered, my thumbs brushing over the holes of his palms.

I waited for a second, or two, three, four. Maybe I shouldn’t have asked.

He let out a soft sigh, as if he’d known what was on my mind before I spoke, which he probably had.

“Terribly,” he finally whispered back.

I grimaced. Of course it hurt. It sounded like such a stupid question, but the reality was that wasn’t what I really wanted to know.

“So why did you do it?” I said softly, giving his hands a gentle squeeze.

He squeezed back as our eyes met, and he looked…calm.

“Because I love you, sweetheart.”

Was that really all? He died an excruciating death because he loved me? I loved people too, a lot. But I couldn’t even say for certainty if the people I loved most in the world, I’d be mocked, tortured, murdered for.

“I don’t understand.”

He just smiled and rested his chin on my head, “I’m not asking you to. It’s okay. There’s a lot of things I do that you won’t understand now…but you will eventually. All you have to do is trust me. And…know that I love you more than you can imagine.”

“I…okay…” I whispered, hiding back into his chest

“I love you too.”

I know that if I don't live a biblical life, I will not find my true soul mate.

I just wish I had more friends to talk to and spend time with.

I've never been single this long. I know that I'm trying to turn away from sin, but it's hard. I think that sometimes there is a loneliness in finding your own way in life.

I wonder if Jesus ever felt lonely. Probably not, since he was able to fast and directly speak to God (his higher consciousness, leading him through his sinless life). I just don't know how Jesus did it. Temptation is everywhere in our lives.

Modernity is ridden with hedonism and hook-up culture. Many of us just want love.

But, we must learn that there is a duality in being alone. There is the positive connotation of being in solitude: finding yourself, learning the true nature of reality, connecting with God and the beautiful nature in this world he made for us.

God's creation is utterly beautiful and serene. Awe-inspiring is an understatement. Just look at the structure of trees and take in that healing green color.

Adversely, there is also the negative connotation of loneliness, in which a person refuses to learn the important life lessons while being alone for a long duration of time.

Maybe Christ was able to bask in the solitude he experienced. Fasting played a key role in his ability to have the elucidation in his mind, but his ability to keep a calm and peaceful temperament was really one of the things that stands out about him to me.

I wish to be more Christ-like. My best friend who passed away several years ago was the first Christian woman I had ever met who really embodied the beauty of having a Christ-like nature and temperament.

I always look up to her and hope to become like her as I grow up and mature more. But, also, I must be sure to love and appreciate the gift of life because it only lasts so long.

What is a lukewarm Christian/Catholic? I believe in God and Jesus and the Virgin Mary and I wear a a cross/Virgin Mary necklace. But I also cuss, I don’t pray everyday, i don’t go to church, I didn’t save myself for marriage. I don’t hurt anyone by doing these things either. I still have God in my heart and trust he knows what’s best for me. Does that still count as lukewarm?

omg hiii! I appreciate that u reached out to me on this, it really means a lot. and to answer ur question, yes, that basically is being lukewarm.

In the context of faith, the lukewarm meaning in the bible describes someone who hasn’t blatantly denied jesus but isn’t blatantly living for him either. they have lukewarm faith; faith in name, but not in action.

“I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm — neither hot nor cold — I am about to spit you out of my mouth.” — Revelation 3:15-16, NIV

But don’t worry too much cause u can always change that! firstly ask for forgiveness and repent from sin! and then ask god to help give u strength to repent from ur sins. Be honest and open, god knows ur heart and he knows u want to do the right things in life. 

"The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him." Daniel 9:9 NIV

Look, not everyone is perfect. I struggle with cussing, controlling my anger, thoughts of lust, and I’m a smoker. it’s hard to stop urself from sinning. it was never said to be easy.

It is said in the bible that we as humans are all sinners, but u must fight temptation and want to build a strong relationship with god. that is why u must pray to the lord and tell him u want a better relationship with him, but thing is u must also be willing to put the work in, u can’t just ask and receive, u must put the efforts to stop being lukewarm in order to move forward and strengthen ur bond with christ.

There is people out there that will try to tell u all u need is at least 5 minutes a day of god’s words or saying prayers, do not believe that.

the lord is the reason ur here today!! u live because of him! he’s supposed to be ur main focus before anything and above everything.

things u can do to help strengthen ur bond with the lord:

Admit ur need. (I am a sinner.)

Be willing to turn from ur sins (repent) and ask for God's forgiveness.

Believe that Jesus Christ died for u on the cross and rose from the grave.

Through prayer, invite Jesus Christ to come in and control ur life through the Holy Spirit. (Receive Jesus as Lord and Savior)

prayer u can use:

Lord, my sins are many, and they have left many wounds. I have sinned against u, but I have also sinned against my fellow man. I have not loved ur words and commandments as I should. Lord, I ask that u reach out with ur healing hand and touch me. Take away all sins and all their effects from my whole being, that I may uphold ur image in my life. Forgive me my trespasses, that I may learn to forgive others.

Amen.

Another prayer to use:

God please guide my steps. u see where I am at in life and u know where I need to be. I'm at a point in life where I don't want to chase any waterfalls. I want to walk in purpose. For I have learned that passion is what I want to do, talent is what I can do, and my purpose is what I am suppose to do. I don't want any unhealthy passion to lead me away from my purpose. May u open up every door that needs to be opened and close every door that needs to be closed in my life. I'll listen to ur voice as I know u will guide me to the places that we talk about.

How to add god into ur daily routine:

pray at least once or twice a day (normally I do this at night and morning)

it’s okay to be honest and open with god, even if u have nothing to pray about u can still make conversation in ur head at all times.

Take a walk with god. (sometimes we just need fresh air to clear our mind with no distractions, what better way to do that then to enjoy nature and look around at god’s creations?)

u can listen to christian/worship music while u go about ur day. (My favorite song rn is all around me by flyleaf)

Read the bible (what helps me stay motivated is finding something I’m most excited to read abt. for example: the story of jonah and the big fish)

Find friends who are also trying to get closer to god, it’s really helpful to stay motivate when u have someone to talk about things especially if u go through spiritual warfare it’s very nice to have someone by ur side that understands!

Bible studies are good too!

U can watch christian humor tiktoks.

There’s a christian tv show about jesus that my friends recommended me to watch (which I haven’t yet) it’s called 'the chosen one' and u can find it on this app.

I’m looking forward to watch it, and if ur interested u should check it out too!

U can also get a notebook to write down ur prayers or verses u want to remember.

a good tip is before u start any prayer, say this and believe it with ur whole heart. "I rebuke every voice that is not of the father, the son, and the holy spirit in Jesus Christ name." Then start ur prayer. It makes it easier to pray and get the right words out without thinking of something u shouldn’t have or have intrusive thoughts.

Listen, it’s all about will power and motivation. God give u free will for a reason, u can put in the work or choose not to. It’s all up to u.

Remember it’s never too late to get on the right path just keep having faith and u will walk with the lord!!
