You know what? I'll share my story. I'll tell you what I have memories of; what you didn't see through the camcorders.

Evan and I dated in highschool, we met in English class. I was 15, he was 16 as he was held back a year. I was quiet, studious, very awkward. I still don't know what about me caught his attention, but he always tells me he was determined to be friends with me. I often did his homework for him and "tutored" him at my house.

We dated all the way until the end of high school. My father, David Miller, wasn't a fan of Evan. He thought he was going to be a nobody or just like his father. I was accepted into a prestigious college, and my dad began pressuring me. He got it in my head that Evan would only drag me down, not uplift me. So I broke it off early into the summer.

It was the biggest mistake of my short life. Ironically, when the boys were coming to my family's vacation home in PA, I was going to tell Evan the truth. That it was a mistake and I loved him still and wanted to try to make the long distance work but I also understood if he didn't want me back (we had been on and off a few times in hs before). He died never knowing.

I remember it all. I remember the three years we dated. The parties, the long nights talking, the fights. Him almost always crashing at my house because his home life was hell. I miss it. I miss him teasing me for all my "potions" (soap) in my shower, him shoving my teddy bears aside so he could snuggle me instead. My mother doting over him, so happy to have another kid to spoil (she did the same to Jeff and Alex, as she was best friends with their mom and often went to Temple together). I wish I got to have that life with him.

There's so much more. So much no one will see. For that, I'm glad. It's mine to hold and remember, but it leaves so many to ignore me. To forget me. Evan never forgot me, this I know, but I was so afraid he had. I was afraid he had grieved me enough and moved on. I don't want to be forgotten, I don't want to be a footnote.
