I will never forget the time I drove by an ultra- maga house (I’m in Texas) and in addition to all of the crazy ai generated pictures and bigotry, they had a bright green ‘kamala is brat” sign displayed front and center. it’s almost as if people like them are completely detached from the world around them and entirely unwilling to change that…
#it’s a rather poignant metaphor if you think about it#gave my mom and I a good chuckle when we saw it#and I should say that#it’s completely acceptable to not understand internet trends and stuff like that#it just seems like a miracle that they bought this very pro-Kamala merch#without realizing that it directly supports her#like…??#idk it has just been on my mind a lot lately#please please please#i’m begging#go vote#vote like your life depends on it#because it very well might#kamala harris#tim walz#us elections#election 2024#harris walz 2024#fuck donald trump#fuck jd vance#pro choice#it’s not too late#get on the right side of history while you still have the chance#relatable#free gaza#free congo#free palestine#freedom#free yemen

we are too close to election day to be having these debates, so- a recap of the most asked questions in this race.
did harris do monumentally good things as vp? no, of course not. vps have very little power in real change. did trump do monumentally good things as president? debatable. better question. did trump do things so monumentally good that they outweighed the harm he did? no.
is harris cringey? does she make you roll your eyes? likely. is donald trump in any state to be president, now or eight years ago? absolutely not.
will harris totally fix the economy? maybe. probably not. will trump totally fix the economy? maybe. probably not. and yet, one of their economic plans is backed by 23 different nobel prize winners. hint- it’s not donald trump’s.
did harris really send thousands of black men to jail in her time as a prosecutor? no. the number was an overexaggeration promoted by right-wing media. was trump really convicted of 34 criminal charges? yes, with another 54 possible charges spanning in three different civil and criminal, state and federal cases looming on the horizon.
will harris fully return the rights overturned in roe v. wade? not likely. she can’t totally overrule the supreme court like that. will trump? no. in fact, he will just make things worse, and make no attempts to prevent the worst of the bans, or the resulting deaths.
is harris a spectacular public speaker? not really. is trump? not a day in his life. yes, the media doctors videos and speeches from both of them. there is still a clearly better speaker.
is tim walz truly god’s gift to america? considering that he’s a politician, doubtful. is jd vance better? nope.
will harris properly disavow israel? no, probably not. she will simply call for a ceasefire. if you think donald trump will do anything but supply israel with more arms power, you’re kidding yourself. it will be a switch from complacent to genocide to allying with it. no matter how bad you think it is already, I promise it will get worse.
harris is not perfect. not by a long shot. but here’s the thing- if she wins, you can vote her out in another four years. if trump does, you may not get the chance. now is not the time to be a moderate, or bipartisan. it is a wonderful sentiment, truly, but if we do not all vote together you will not get the opportunity again. vote for your friends. vote for your family. vote for your children. vote for the people who never got the chance, who never will. if some of us go down, we all do.

In my next installment of “While we can celebrate Kamala’s daily gains, the fight is NOT over yet and DON’T get complacent”, I’d like to remind everyone that Trump is currently 78 years old. Not only that but he’s showing clear signs of mental decline and he’s obese with an unhealthy McDonalds’ diet to boot.
What’s the point of me saying this? There is a good chance he may not make it the next four years and GOD FORBID Trump wins the election but if that happens and he croaks, we could end up with JD VANCE as president.
I’m sure I don’t need to explain why that would be horrible ESPECIALLY for women BUT we all know his comments about “childless cat ladies”, him wanting to monitor women’s pregnancies and him wanting to end No-Fault Divorce but let’s go to more recently.
We’re all aware of the hell that befell Springfield started by lies from Vance, Trump and Laura Loomer. Well after all that destruction; THIS was what he had to say:
So this sick piece of shit is basically toying with innocent lives just for an “agenda”?? And if you all think he has any kind of remorse, think again.
He’s not only DOUBLING DOWN but ACTIVELY making the situation WORSE.
And again I’d like to bring attention to the damage his LIES caused NOT JUST a town but HIS HOMETOWN:
If we don’t do our part and keep Trump and MAGA out of the White House what happened in Springfield will 100 % happen to cities and towns across America because Trump and his cronies are all racist psychopaths.
Again it’s great Kamala is doing well but let’s NOT get complacent!!
Here are the Voter Registration deadlines:
Check frequently if you’re not registered since MAGA have been purging polls and are counting on you not to check and if you’re not registered; register at vote.gov and here are the dates for Early Voting which I recommend since MAGA will try to ACTUALLY suppress our votes:
And I ALSO STRONGLY recommend Mail In Ballots which links are available at Vote.Gov as well!
In short, if you EVER need a reason to vote Kamala; it’s the image of JD Vance as president 😣

Republican Nominee for Vice-President JD Vance said he would have done what Vice-President Mike Pence was unwilling to do on January 6th 2021, endorse an unconstitutional coup by Trump and his followers and overturn the 2020 election.
Just so we're clear, Republicans don't want there to be any more democracy if they win in November, they want to win and then never have another free and fair election in America again. Vote accordingly, vote like you want a chance to vote again in the future.

You guys really don't get it. This election wasn't about Trump, not really. It was always about getting the arbiters of their agenda back in power. look, the reality is that Trump is going to die of illness or natural causes. If he makes it to the end of his term, I'll be surprised. But you know who's next in line? Who will have full power to do what he wants whenever he wants? It's JD Vance and Vance is not on death's door the way Trump is. You're all so shortsighted. This regime will be in power for years to come because you all were too stupid, lazy, and stubborn to fight it when we had the chance and that's what makes me sick. You people disgust me. Truly.

Defying the odds, Trump steals spotlight from JD Vance (and not in a good way)
August 1, 2024
Robert B. Hubbell
Trump's interview at the National Association of Black Journalists convention was an unmitigated disaster of campaign-altering dimensions. The only person in the US happy with Trump's miserable performance was JD Vance—who will enjoy a few minutes out of the spotlight.
It is easy to mock Trump for his calamitous interview—and we should. Taking Trump down a few notches by making clear that he is a cringe-worthy, awkward, bloviating narcissist is a good development. But he is also filled with rage, prejudice, and hate, as his answers make clear. Both aspects of Trump's 32-minute interview deserve to be highlighted—because both demonstrate that he is unfit for office (or even for polite company).
Aaron Rupar has compiled a ten-minute “super-cut” of the interview that is worth watching in its entirety. See YouTube, Trump self-immolates at National Association Black Journalists convention: a supercut.
Rachel Scott of ABC began the interview by asking Trump a tough question about Trump's prior statements about minorities, which sent Trump into a black hole of rage. Scott asked,
You have pushed false claims about people like President Barack Obama, saying he was not born in the United States, which is not true. You have told four congresswomen, women of color who were American citizens, to go back to where they came from. You have used words like ‘animal’ to describe Black district attorneys. You've attacked Black journalists, calling them a loser, saying the questions that they ask are quote, ‘stupid and racist.’ You've had dinner with a white supremacist at Mar-a-Lago. So my question, sir, now that you are asking Black supporters to vote for you, why should Black voters trust you after you have used language like that?
Trump never recovered from that question, immediately pivoting to attacking Rachel Scott as “rude,” “nasty,” and “horrible,” saying that she worked for “fake news ABC.”
Among the many horrible things Trump said during the interview was to question Kamala Harris’s identification as a Black woman and an Indian woman. Mother Jones covered Trump's challenge to Kamala Harris’s identity with this headline: White Man Tells Black Journalists His Black Opponent Is Not Black. Trump said,
She was always of Indian heritage. She was only promoting Indian heritage, I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black, and now she wants to be known as Black. So I don’t know, is she Indian or is she Black?
After offending Black Americans, Indian Americans, and all multi-racial Americans, Trump doubled-down on his insensitive comments by posting on Truth Social the following statement:
Crazy Kamala is saying she's Indian, not Black. This is a big deal. Stone cold phony. She uses everybody, including her racial identity!
Racial identity is a sensitive and personal issue. Trump not only failed to show any sensitivity or understanding, but he also tried to shame Kamala Harris for her identity as a daughter of a Black father and an Indian mother. Based on social media posts and statements by Trump surrogates, it is clear the campaign believes that focusing on Kamala Harris’s racial identity is a winning strategy. Only a white billionaire living in a bubble of sycophants would believe that strategy will increase his chances of election.
Trump also said he would pardon January 6 insurrectionists convicted of beating police officers and that he would give immunity to police officers charged with killing citizens.
None of the above captures Trump's boorish, insulting, aggressive behavior toward the three Black female journalists who attempted to interview him. You should watch the video to see that behavior. At one point, Trump reached over to take the bottle of water belonging to Rachel Scott, appearing to screw the lid tightly—apparently to make it difficult for Scott to open the bottle (?). Whatever the reason, it was a weird, aggressive way to act out Trump's anger toward Scott.
Most importantly, the event reminded us of the daily chaos and ugly confrontations that typified life during the Trump administration. The Harris campaign issued a statement that made that point:
Statement on Donald Trump Showing Exactly Who He Is at NABJ
The hostility Donald Trump showed on stage today is the same hostility he has shown throughout his life, throughout his term in office, and throughout his campaign for president as he seeks to regain power and inflict his harmful Project 2025 agenda on the American people. Trump lobbed personal attacks and insults at Black journalists the same way he did throughout his presidency-while he failed Black families and left the entire country digging out of the ditch he left us in. Donald Trump has already proven he cannot unite America, so he attempts to divide us. Today's tirade is simply a taste of the chaos and division that has been a hallmark of Trump's MAGA rallies this entire campaign. It's also exactly what the American people will see from across the debate stage as Vice President Harris offers a vision of opportunity and freedom for all Americans. All Donald Trump needs to do is stop playing games and actually show up to the debate on September 10.
Trump and Vance are both stumbling as Kamala Harris projects confidence and inspires enthusiasm. That does not guarantee that we will win, but it certainly places Democrats in a strong position for the last 97 days of the campaign.

Weekly Report 28/08/2024
On a 69
From here on, since I am primarily a neutral political news blog (I try to be neutral in news...that is....not in beliefs.), I will be doing weekly oppinion based reports on current events, including Irish and US politics.
☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆
Irish politics has been as mundane as it has been in the past few months, with the steady work on the annual budget being continued by Coaltition parties Fine Gael, Fianna Fáil, and the Green Party, with effort from Jack Chambers, the Fianna Fáil Minister for Finance, and Fine Gaels Minister for Public Expendature and Reform, Paschal Donohoe.
However, those of us who follow irish politics anxiously await the return of Leaders Questions to the Oireachtas Channel (or Oireachtas TV).
---
With less than 69 days to go until the United States presidential elections, the latest polls show the Harris Walz duo leading the race to the Oval Office 47.0% to trumps close second of 43.7%.
I interviewed an Irish Republican/Trump supporter and an Irish Democrat/Harris supporter and asked for their views on the current trends being faced in American politics.
Let's find out what they had to say.
Note: I have altered the original response, only with punctuation such as ".", "," ect. I have not changed the order of words or sentences, or altered the meaning of any of the given text.
Question: "How do you feel about the current polls, suggesting that Harris and Walz may be taking the Oval Office next November, and do you think the current trend will remain the same as we draw closer to the elections?"
Republican: "I, personally, do believe that trump will end up succeededing in the election, as a common trend amongst the majority of people does come from an economic standpoint, whilst I also do understand people wanting good social policies I don't particularly think that is a main issue when some people can no longer feed and house themselves. I do personally believe the vote will be very close, though."
Democrat:
"[As] much as I would love Harris to win, the amount of support trump has been receiving for years now is hard to ignore. I believe that while Harris has proven to be popular and very supported, trump has just got an enormous amount of americans on his side. The twisted view of america being “broken” or something of the sort is a very common trend amongst more conservative groups of people. and they believe trump can fix it.
I don’t believe this “make america great again” thing is a trend, more of a twisted delusion, honestly. I do think people, including Harris and Walz supporters, tend to focus too much on one thing. More focus and attention need to be put into the ridiculous amount of homelessness in America. my hope would be that the future president would really try to actually deal with this problem rather than contribute to it."
---
However, time is running out, and with just under 70 days until the ballots open, if things continue as they have been, presidential candidate Donald Trump may come out as "the bottom from 69".
Will Donald and his VP candidate JD Vance.....erm....Trump? Or will Kamala Harris and her VP candidate Tim get the chance to Walz into the Oval Office next November?
Both the answer to that question, and the future of the America can be found in the swing states.
---
My name is Ray, I have an early university entry certificate in International Relations, and this has been the weekly report.

i genuinely do not know what i will do if kamala harris doesn't win this election. if you are from nevada, north carolina, PENNSYLVANIA, arizona, georgia, michigan, or wisconsin and are of age PLEASE vote blue.
it really is bigger than every one of us and our political preferences. i know we've all hear this time and time again, but there isn't going to be a candidate that agrees with us on every front. the truth of the matter is that sometimes we have to settle and kamala harris is ultimately the best option we have.
a third party vote is a vote for trump, and a vote for trump jeopardizes any personal right you can name. we see a potential dictatorship, federal abortion bans, illegalization of gay marriage, abolishment of free speech, russia pushing into poland and involving nato, our potential withdrawl from nato, ignorance of the VERY REAL issue of climate change. the worst you could possibly think of is possible under leadership by donald trump and jd vance in his succession.
for some kamala harris might be ideal, but for the united states of america, she is our last chance. any issue you might have with her will not be solved if we have a dictator who allies us with russia and china. maybe it's true that neither are ideal, but kamala harris is the only candidate in election who values the core truths of what it means to be american. she is the only choice.

ok ok instant rewatch of the relevant scenes - reposting because the cut didn’t work for my wall o’spoilers
Eddie’s confession: noting that after Christopher, the first person he says he lied to is Buck 👀 👀 👀
“you can even take Eddie” “really?” FORESHADOWING
buck needing to be reminded that tommy is gay because everyone is hot to him hashtag just bisexual things 🩷💜💙
HIMBO BUCK CONFIRMED
genuinely this is one of the funniest things that’s ever happened on this show
“How many men did Abby turn gay” - Abby sleep with Eddie next challenge and get this over with
Can I also just say. I love Josh’s pre- vs post-Glee speech. Not to be an old lady yelling at a cloud but even growing up in the early 2000s, when we were starting to get a little bit of rep—Gen Z has no idea. It’s a COMPLETELY different world.
I also really like how Tommy lying to Abby parallels Michael and Athena. I don’t love how close the show comes to completely condoning stealth queer folks lying to an unwitting partner for convenience but like. you cannot conceive of how different the world was, just as I can’t fully conceive of how different it was in the 80s. the 2000s seem like they were recent but the change is enormous.
Ugh I hate Eddie’s constant no homo thing. YES HOMO.
Isn’t the point of confessionals that what happens in the confessional stays in the confessional? literally no-one in this show has any professional ethics
Man this show really loves putting children in pipes huh? but also like MAJOR callback to the well episode. We Know Something LGBTQ+ Is Gonna Happen Today. further professional ethics failures.
uh huh i bet he shared his spumoni with you buck
what even is spumoni
oh it’s a creamy fruity treat 🍨 yeah he definitely shared that 👀
SELF-IDENTIFIED HIMBO BUCK
Tommy realising that if Buck is half Abby’s age… he would also have been half Tommy’s age at the time…
Groaned OUT LOUD when Buck was like “and we have that right [to get married] because of the brave people who came before” BUCK YOU ARE SUCH A GOOD FUCKING ALLY 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ he’s so embarrassing
Tommy like are you breaking up with me? UNO REVERSE BITCH
God everything hitting Tommy at once—realising he’s always known he was on borrowed time, that he needs to get out before he gets too badly hurt. on the other hand tommy you’re an idiot and you need to give buck more credit.
Tommy thinks he understands where Buck’s at because he’s gay and all his relationships with women were lies. But excited as Buck is, he’s not gay—his relationships with women were real! Abby was his “oh shit, next one could be For Real” relationship. The gender doesn’t matter! That’s how bisexuality works!! I really hope Buck gets to talk about that in later episodes.
Holy shit Eddie dancing scene sure is something. I love that they gave Ryan that chance even if it’s cheesy as hell. Also. THIGHS. BUTT. FUCKING THE COUCH ARE YOU KIDDING ME. gays we’re reclaiming couch-fucking jd vance doesn’t get to keep that one.
Eddie opening the door to Buck, seeing him devastated—he’s GOTTA know. And he doesn’t stop smiling. He takes the beer. He looks at it. He looks at Buck. He looks back at the beer, like “why not?” AND THEN THEY BOTH SIT ON THE COUCH HE WAS JUST WRITHING ON
and BUCK IS ALREADY DRINKING
holding the bottle straight like it’s a dick
AND
JUST
SECONDS
LATER
EDDIE OPENS HIS OWN BOTTLE
AND STARTS SUCKING IT OFF

Some of these instances are so ridiculous that you have to see them to believe them.
The Vigilant Fox
Jan 20, 2025
10 - MSNBC mocks Trump’s national emergency declaration at the border.
This is downright pathetic.
MADDOW: “Does it feel like an emergency where you are standing?”
REPORTER: “Feels no different than 20 minutes ago, or 30 minutes ago, or an hour ago when we got here early this morning.”
9 - CNN commentators watch in awe as Barron Trump’s towering height leaves them momentarily speechless.
“Yes, he’s very tall.”
“Dana Bash—just looking at Barron Trump, I think he’s like 6’5” or something… 6’9”, I’m told.”
8 - CNN commentator boldly declares that Trump pardoning J6ers is “completely different” than Biden pardoning the likes of Fauci, his brother, and other family members.
This spin on this take is off the charts.
“I want to put those [J6] pardons in separate buckets, and I think we should be talking about them differently because they are not all—all pardons are not created equal, in my opinion.”
7 - CNN’s Van Jones claims Joe Biden is Mr. “America First” today and gave Trump a “pretty decent economy.”
“You wanna talk about America First? That’s Joe Biden today.”
“Joe Biden’s putting America first.”
“He’s actually giving Donald Trump not just the dignity of a good transition, he’s giving a pretty decent economy.”
“I think it’s an important moment. It’s a powerful moment. Joe Biden probably stayed too long, but he stayed too long because he thought he had more good to do.”
“He won’t get a chance to do that good, but he’s handing off a better economy than he got, and he’s doing it in a more decent way, showing more decency than he received. You want to talk about America First, that’s Joe Biden today.”
6 - CNN’s Jake Tapper has an awkward moment on air, as he is not sure how to describe Tucker Carlson.
TAPPER: “Tucker Carlson, also the former Fox host, now popular podcaster and YouTube hoster. I’m not exactly sure what they call him, but influencer, certainly very influential.”
CO-HOST: “Very influential.”
TAPPER: “Yes, absolutely. Anderson Cooper.”
While you’re here, don’t forget to subscribe to this page for more reports like this one.Subscribe
#5 - CNN host interrupts the broadcast during the Inaugural Parade to let everyone know that JD Vance’s daughter had “Bluey” bandages on.
Cutting-edge journalism right here.
ERIN BURNETT: “So those are the obviously the Butler County first responders who are marching in—”
HOST 2: “Also, Erin. One quick note because our panel, Abby Philip and Jake [Tapper], were talking about it a little bit earlier. Apparently, the bandages on JD Vance’s daughter’s fingers, her name is Mirabel, by the way, are Bluey bandages. I think your kids may be a little bit older than mine. Bluey is very popular in our house. But that’s just to put a button on an earlier conversation.”
BURNETT: “Well, it is his normalcy and approachability for JD Vance that is a great appeal for many.”
#4 - MSNBC bombards its viewers with commentary while President Trump is actively speaking.
Among all the networks, MSNBC stands out as the only one that silenced Trump’s address and put it in the background.
This so-called editorial policy is aimed at maintaining “journalistic integrity.”
The network has previously expressed concerns about airing content that may contain “misinformation” or unverified claims.
#3 - CNN brings on the son of a J6 defendant who claims he had to buy a gun and flee to protect himself from his dad, whom Trump is about to pardon.
They just won’t let go of this “insurrection” narrative.
Jackson Reffitt, who reported his father to the FBI, says, “I’ve taken as many precautions as I could recently. I’ve picked up a gun, I’ve moved, and I’ve gotten myself away from what I thought would be a dangerous situation and staying where I thought my dad could find me or other people.”
He added, “My father’s actions coming from the Trump presidency and what he thought he was doing was right just destroyed it [my family]. I made a very, very disgusting decision to inform authorities about what he was doing, and I still feel horrible about it every day.
“My sisters are out there right now, and they’re rooting for him. I understand that. I come from a place of love toward them. I want to be there for them, but I can’t. It just isn’t safe for people like me who have done what I did to protect my family... I cannot feel safe around him [father].”
#2 - CNN commentator stuns the panel with a HUGE compliment for President Trump.
“There’s something about him. It’s probably the word charisma, and it’s attributable to him being elected again.”
Michael Smerconish made these comments after thinking it would be impossible for Trump to make a political return after J6.
“I would never have believed that we’d be back in this position today, as he was headed back to Florida, not having attended Joe Biden’s inaugural. And I don’t think you can attribute that solely to issues like the economy and immigration.”
#1 - CNN suggests Elon Musk made a Nazi salute during Trump's event at Capitol One arena, purposely leaves out Musk's comments when he said his heart goes out to the crowd.
CNN: "It's a salute. It was quick. I think our viewers are smart and they can take a look at that, but it certainly was, it's not something that you typically see at American political rallies."
Musk: "My heart goes out to you."
Credit: https://x.com/CollinRugg/status/1881438727320240325
MORE MEMORABLE MOMENTS (not directly from the media):
BONUS #1 - Joe Rogan, Tim Cook (Apple), Mark Zuckerberg (Meta), Shou Zi Chew (TikTok CEO), and Jeff Bezos (Amazon) were all spotted arriving at President Donald Trump’s inauguration.
BONUS #2 - Senator John Fetterman showed up to Trump's inauguration in gym shorts and a Carhartt sweatshirt.
Credit: https://x.com/CollinRugg/status/1881371504824537410
BONUS #3 - During her performance of “America the Beautiful” at Trump’s inauguration, Carrie Underwood faced technical difficulties when the music failed.
Showing professionalism, she asked the audience for help and sang the song a cappella like a legend.
BONUS #4 - Donald Trump signs a wave of game-changing executive orders in front of a crowd of tens of thousands after the Inaugural Parade.
This includes:
1. Rescinding 78 Biden-era executive actions, orders, and memoranda.
2. Implementing a regulatory freeze to halt new regulations until full control of the government is achieved.
3. Freezing federal hiring, with exceptions for the military and other specified categories.
4. Requiring all federal workers to return to full-time in-person work immediately.
5. Directing every federal department and agency to address the ongoing cost of living crisis.
6. Withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement, saving over a trillion dollars.
7. Sending a letter to the United Nations to formally announce the U.S. withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement.
8. Restoring freedom of speech and preventing government censorship of free speech.
9. Ending the weaponization of government against political adversaries of the previous administration.
BONUS #5 - Trump gives his son, Barron, an epic shout-out, and Barron takes it in like a total rock star.
“Then I have a very tall son named Barron. Has anyone ever heard of him?”
“He knew the youth vote… And he was saying, Dad, you got to go out and do this [podcast] or that one.”
“He understood the market.”

Pema Levy at Mother Jones:
America loves a sports metaphor. On the third night of the Democratic National Convention Wednesday, Vice Presidential nominee and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz showed up by his preferred title, coach, to give a pep talk to American voters. “I haven’t given a lot of big speeches like this,” Walz said bashfully. “But I have given a lot of pep talks. So let me finish with this, team. It’s the fourth quarter. We’re down a field goal. But we’re on offense and we’ve got the ball. We’re driving down the field And boy do we have the right team.” The crowd changed “Coach! Coach!”
A month ago, few Americans knew who Walz was. The governor of Minnesota had a low national profile until he began making the rounds on TV, presenting himself to the American people and, in so-doing, auditioning for the suddenly- open position of Democratic vice presidential nominee. Walz changed the race when he called the Donald Trump, JD Vance, and the MAGA movement “weird.” It was a disarming attack, stripping Trump of his power and turning the dour former president it with something like a joke. In selecting Walz, Harris chose a savvy communicator. But she also chose a foil to the weirdness on the other side of the ticket. In Walz, Harris found the opposite of Donald Trump’s running mate, Sen. JD Vance of Ohio. Both men are veterans. Neither spent their formative years in a coastal city. But the policies they stand for and the temperament they display are starkly different. [...]
Walz’s speech highlighted his record in Minnesota, parts of which Harris would seek to replicate as president. “We protected reproductive freedom,” he said. “Even if we wouldn’t make those same choices for ourselves, we’ve got a golden rule: Mind your own damn business.” Walz also shared his own connection to the current battle over reproductive choice. He and his wife, Gwen Walz, used IVF to start their family. “If you’ve never experienced the hell that is infertility, I guarantee you know someone who has,” Walz said. “I’m letting you in on how we started a family because this is a big part about what this election is about.” Walz’s job Wednesday was to introduce himself to American voters, to convey the goals of a Harris administration, and to knock down the opposition. In his final pep talk of the night, the former coach did just that. “We’ve gonna leave it all on the field,” he said in his finale. “That’s how we’ll build a country where workers come first, health care and housing are human rights, and the government stays the hell out of your bedroom.”
Wrapping up Night 3 of the DNC was Minnesota Governor and Kamala Harris VP pick Tim Walz. His speech reminded me why I was happy she picked him as his running mate.
Walz’s speech hit home some important themes, such as the “government stays the hell out of your bedroom”, free school lunches > book bans, and “minding your own damn business”.
He dropped in some coaching metaphors, such as the reference that the Democrats were down a field goal with a chance to tie the game or take the lead.
America, we need to elect this fine man as our Vice President along with Kamala Harris!

Lisa Needham at Public Notice:
Donald Trump and JD Vance spent the 2024 election spewing the most rank transphobia, a tactic that should have made them pariahs but instead helped win them the presidency. Even though they haven’t taken office yet, their victory seems to have emboldened Republicans like Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton to go all out in their attacks on trans people. Trump’s transphobia is often focused on trans athletes, and Paxton is following his lead by suing the NCAA in Texas state court under the state’s Deceptive Trade Practices Act. His allegation is that the NCAA is somehow swindling Texas sports fans by allowing trans athletes to compete in women’s sporting events. Texas’s Deceptive Trade Practices Act prohibits false, misleading, or deceptive acts in commerce. According to Paxton, the NCAA is misleading sports fans by advertising women’s sporting events when there are actually “biological males” competing. Or, as the lawsuit explains, the NCAA is “lead[ing] consumers to believe that they are purchasing goods and services associated with biological sex-based sporting events.” While rightwing weirdos might be attending NCAA games because of their deep desire to associate only with “biological sex-based sporting events,” the rest of the world watches women’s sports because they enjoy watching them.
The complaint rolls out four more counts, each fixating on a different bit of language from the Deceptive Trade Practices Act. At root, they’re all the same accusation: the NCAA is deceiving consumers by referring to women’s sports because it allows trans athletes to compete in some events. Of course, for people not consumed with a fixation on genitals, the term “women’s sports” includes trans women, because they are women. It only makes sense if you first grant Texas’s transphobic premise that there is no such thing as a trans woman playing a sport — only a “biological male” who has invaded a women’s team. Ostensibly, this lawsuit is just about stopping trans athletes from competing in women’s sports in Texas (or outside Texas if a Texas team is involved). But what it really represents is a chance for the state to spread its transphobia across the country.
Everyone knows that the GOP has made transphobia one of the centerpieces of its messaging, with the explicit goal of running trans people out of public life altogether. They’ve particularly fixated on trans women athletes, declaring that it is their deep love for the sanctity of women’s sports that drives them. So, it’s not surprising that Republicans have been demanding that the NCAA entirely ban trans athletes from competing.
But here’s the thing. There are roughly 510,000 NCAA athletes. And, according to the president of the NCAA, there are fewer than 10 trans athletes total. Even if all of these efforts to “protect” women’s sports were in good faith, this would still be a solution in search of a problem. Needless to say, these efforts are not in good faith, which is why, for example, the state’s complaint won’t even use the term trans woman or trans athlete, instead calling them men or “biological males.” It’s why there are dozens of paragraphs about athletes who are not trans, are not NCAA athletes, and are not even American athletes, like Caster Semenya and Imane Khelif. Invoking Semenya, a South African runner, and Khelif, an Algerian boxer, is a favorite tactic of transphobic right-wingers, sending the not-so-subtle message that they will police the gender of anyone they deem insufficiently female.
[...] The state wants the court to permanently bar the NCAA from allowing trans women to compete in women’s sporting events. In the alternative, they’ll take forcing the NCAA to stop using the term “women” for sporting events where trans women can compete if the event is in Texas or involves Texas teams. As far as protecting the sacred womanhood of sports, or whatever it is Paxton is pretending he is doing here, this lawsuit is entirely unnecessary. Texas already bans trans athletes from participating in collegiate sports in the state. But that’s not enough for Texas. It wants to reach into other states — states that may have laws that protect trans people — and impose a trans athlete ban if there’s a Texas team playing.
Texas’s culture wars-obsessed weirdo AG Ken Paxton (R) files a frivolous lawsuit against the NCAA over phony claims that the organization is “deceiving” people by using the term “women’s sports” when a trans woman is competing. This lawsuit is about eliminating trans people from public life fully and not a darn thing about “protecting” the “sanctity” of women’s sports.

WAITING IN THE WINGS
Idiomatic Meaning: Someone or something is ready and waiting for an opportunity to take action or step in, possibly replacing someone or something; prepared to assume a role or responsibility when the current holder is unable or steps aside.
Literal Meaning: “Wings” can have multiple meanings, such as limbs that birds use to fly, or a side section of a building, or the extended parts of an airplane, enabling it to fly. If you are at any of these locations for a specific event which has not happened yet, you can be said to be “waiting in the wings.”
Usage: Informal and formal, spoken and written, general British and American English. The phrase conveys readiness and preparedness, often highlighting someone's patience and anticipation for their moment to shine.
Origin: 17th Century – British English. This expression has its roots in the theater. In traditional stage setups, the "wings" are the areas just offstage where actors stand by, ready to make their entrances. Stage “wings” refer to the areas on either side of a stage that are hidden. The term originates from the moveable scenery panels called "wing flats" which were traditionally stored in those spaces, This literal sense of being prepared to step onto the stage has evolved into the figurative meaning we use today. The term “winging it” has the same origin.
Why is this funny? In the photo we see two escaped convicts sitting on one part of the wings of an old style biplane, which has two sets of wings, one above and one below the chassis, or body of the plane. There is snow on the ground and on the plane, indicating that it is very cold. They are freezing and are waiting for the plane to start to fly and then jump off and try to further their escape. Since there are wigs above and below them, they could be said to be “waiting in the wings” for their chance to escape while they are waiting in the (frozen) wings.
Sample sentence: JD Vance is “waiting in the wings” for his chance at the American presidency.

I just got my Voter Registration Card in the Mail! Great! With 33 Days until the election I just wanted to repeat my point I said this morning!
If Trump gets in, there is a STRONG CHANCE that "unforeseen circumstances" may have JD VANCE as President. And I'd like to remind everyone that NOT ONLY did Vance REFUSE to answer whether Trump won the 2020 election or not (something that cost him undecided voters 🤣:
And that person is right. If he can't answer a simple question HOW can we trust him with the second (or potentially first) most important job of the country??
But what stood out to me is THIS. He admitted unlike Mike Pence who stood against Trump during January 6th, he would have NOT helped transfer power peacefully and would have helped Trump OVERTHROW an election. For all you MAGAs bitching about "Election Interference" THIS IS IT.
Like Trump said if he gets in we definitely won't have to worry about any more elections since there WON'T be. At most, there'll be Russian-Esque elections.
While you guys sit on that, here's a link to register to Vote as Voter Registration ends this month! And here's the dates and the deadlines of when voting ends by your state:
And I've seen tons of Democrats do Early Voting which I WHOLEHEARTEDLY ENDORSE!! The dates of when Early Voting starts in your states are down below!
And apparently the MAGAts are lagging behind in Mail In Ballots which is great! Here's the link to register for your Mail In Ballot as I HIGHLY recommend this option too. But please know if you DO; please submit your ballot at the USPS office itself so MAGA will NOT tamper with it since they are willing to do ANYTHING for their orange pedophile god.
Trump and Vance must NEVER be let in the White House for the safety if we want to continue enjoying our lives WITHOUT Christian Fascists trying to dictate shit for us.
