Listen, I had to single out this moment in “The Storyteller” where I’m about 90% sure that Jake is trying to act as cool & unruffled as his dad.
More seriously, here are Jake and Nog offering to give Varis a tour of the station.
Later, the two boys offer Varis some comfort and advice. I think Nog’s jealousy that Jake doesn’t have a problem talking with Varis is highlighted by the fact that the boys are in different colors now. I do like Varis’ textured teal dress she wears here and at the episode’s end.
Not that their advice initially comes to much; here, Varis’ doubts about how to handle the political situation are interrupted by the boys showing up.
The prank sequence went by fairly fast so I didn’t get good screencaps of it. While juvenile, I think it was nice of the boys to get Varis to act her actual age for a few minutes, as back home there’d be a high risk for a power imbalance (see Emma & Harriet in Emma for an example of how badly that can go) or there are other tweens who also can’t act their own age because they similarly had to prematurely step up to adult responsibilities due to the Cardassians’ actions.
Although it’s not jealousy, Jake is Very Flustered to see Varis give Nog a thank you kiss. He looks everywhere but at them.
Thanks to getting the above screencap, I caught that Benjamin pokes Jake in order to get him out of the way, which is equally parts endearing and amusing. Again: the Sisko family dynamic has been living up to its hype.

Adding onto this post even though it's already long as fuck -_-
I'm interested in exploring how Ziyal could have interacted with Sisko more. Kira and Sisko are the two people Dukat pesters the most throughout the series and I wonder how he would have reacted to Ziyal seeking out Sisko's company and guidance more than his. We already know Sisko is absolutely wonderful with kids. Take "The Storyteller" for example (yes, I know it's an otherwise ridiculous episode, but just bear with me, ok?): Sisko easily takes up a supportive role for Varis Sul, a young Bajoran Tetrarch who lost her parents to the Cardassian Occupation, who's trying to do what's best for her people and keep their best interests at heart. He doesn't talk down to her or infantilize her the way the other Tetrarch does. Instead, he chooses to do his best to understand her position and offer his support where he can, but he doesn't hold back his misgivings about how ready she is to sacrifice herself for her people, recognizing the weight of expectation she carries on her shoulders. In his role as advisor, he doesn't try to soften any blows for her. He's honest and encourages her to be, as well. This relationship is paralleled with Varis' relationship with Jake and Nog, who manage to support her in their own way by convincing her to join them on their adventures. Simultaneously, she is given the respect and compassion she deserves as a young leader and the opportunity to nurture her childhood and be vulnerable.
And while we're on the topic of Nog, I love how his and Sisko's relationship as mentee and mentor evolves. Initially, Sisko is wary of Nog, but his friendship with Jake (who employs the same kind of humility his father teaches him) is what wears his defenses down. After Nog chooses Sisko as his mentor, Sisko slowly becomes one of Nog's most staunch supporters, determined to foster the spark of enthusiasm the young Ferengi has for Starfleet and exploration. It's a relationship that importantly showcases Nog's zealous curiosity and Sisko's compassion as a leader.
Amongst literally everything else he drops the ball on, Dukat doesn't really get that part of being a good adult figure in a child's life involves showing them respect. Or that that respect shouldn't have to be earned. This, along with his actual-real-life plan to kill his own daughter, forms the basis of his failings as a parent to Ziyal. Sooner or later, she was going to realize that. And in connection to my earlier point that Dukat's "love" was never unconditional, Sisko's compassion is always unconditional (and by extension, so is Jake's).
Also, just gonna put it out there - in case anyone hadn't noticed - that Sisko is kind of a creative genius (see "Dramatis Personae", "Explorers", "Penumbra"). I yearn to see the two of them sculpt or build together, or at least see Sisko asking Ziyal what she thinks about his creations and her asking him for his thoughts on her paintings in turn. I think they could quickly bring out the nerds in each other.
Ramblings on Tora Ziyal
I think it’s well beyond a shame that they killed off Ziyal because I really would have liked to see her Cardassian-Bajoran identity more fleshed out and have her navigate the world beyond her father’s influence. She was starting to do that a bit with Kira and Garak (though I strongly feel that Garak should have been more of a mentor figure than a love interest) and it would have been really cool to see her get to hang out with Jake and Nog and just be a kid for once. It feels way too weird the way they began her character as this traumatized little girl who knew nothing but the brief time of her life she spent with her mother on Bajor and the horrors of the Breen mines and then magically turned her into this saccharine sweet, mostly well-adjusted young woman who loves her tyrant father despite his crimes (and in many ways, is seemingly unaware of them???????). Where was the therapy? Where was the rehabilitation? Where was the jaded child we saw in “Indiscretion”? What if Ziyal had been allowed to channel her anger and pain into learning about Bajor and Cardassia, into healing herself? Her dad basically plucked her out of the Breen mines after years of giving less than a Cardassian vole's asshole about her and then it turns out he originally planned to kill her when he found her? After she prayed for years that he'd come and save her? I'd be pissed.
But also, I wish they'd explored more of why she didn't appear to be all that pissed. We have almost no other context for Ziyal's childhood, certainly not any of what it was like before Dukat sent her and Naprem away. Was it simply exhaustion and desperation that led her to the conclusion that she'd rather die than not be with him once he'd found her? Was there a guise Dukat put up to portray himself as a kind father and mask the tyrant underneath before he sent Naprem and Ziyal away? Or did she even get to see Dukat at all in her early childhood? Did she simply assume he would be a loving father? Is that the image Ziyal clung to for comfort for all those years? Did she cling so tightly she could do little else but believe it?
It feels icky to kind of reduce her existence to Dukat Drama™️ the way the show ultimately did with her death. Why didn’t we get to see her experiencing disillusionment about Dukat, who never actually changed for the better when she was still alive and trying to get him to stop being so horrible? Why didn’t we get any Rugal-level anger from her, the hushed-up child of a Bajoran comfort woman and the genocidal former Prefect of Bajor? Because, obviously, Dukat never actually took his fatherhood to her seriously. She tried to imagine him as someone he was not and he predictably chose to inflate his own ego by encouraging her. She wasn't much more to him than a device to garner some twisted idea of empathy for himself. Ziyal needed more of a chance to break away from relying on Dukat for unconditional love. Because his love, as we know, was not unconditional. In fact, I hesitate to even call it love at all, given how ready he was to manipulate Ziyal, how ready he was to get rid of her. She had unconditional love from Kira, who immediately went to bat for her before she’d even met her when she found out what Dukat planned to do to his own daughter. And I totally believe Garak’s love for Ziyal could have grown into something unconditional, but they ruined it with some weird, out-of-nowhere romance with an uncomfortable age gap and then had her killed off like some tragic, helpless maiden.
DS9 was sort of the only place Ziyal could experience any sort of semblance of real safety in her life, especially considering both Bajoran and Cardassian attitudes towards biracial children. It would have been interesting to explore an arc with her making DS9 her home as a place that is conducive to the cohabitation of many different species and cultures while also wrestling with isolation and ostracization from those who share in the two most pervasively impactful facets of her identity. Maybe the writers wanted to focus on portraying her girlhood and favored it over exploring the complexities of her Cardassian-Bajoran heritage. But honestly, they failed at both. She never got to have a girlhood and she ultimately became more of a plot device than a fully-fledged character. This franchise started off with its most interesting and beloved main character being both Vulcan and human. I know Ziyal is someone else entirely, but they totally could have done more with her than they did.
I would love, love, LOVE to see her engage with different aspects of both Bajoran and Cardassian culture. I wonder if she would develop any kind of spirituality regarding the Prophets. Since Bajorans are widely a spiritual people, it's possible Naprem shared some of her spiritual practices with her daughter. If she did, does Ziyal observe those practices to feel closer to her mother? Does she seek Kira's help in learning more about Bajoran spirituality? Do they connect over the struggles their faith has gotten them through? Would delving deeper into Bajoran spirituality open a gateway to acceptance from other Bajorans? Or would it make them turn their backs on her even more? How does her Cardassian-Bajoran heritage impact the way she interacts with her own spirituality and beliefs? As far as Cardassian culture goes, Garak certainly has an eye for art and I could see her connecting with Professor Natima Lang, Hogue and Rekelen and learning about Cardassia's resistance movements.
Also, multiple Bajoran and Cardassian drinks, confections and meals are shown throughout the series and especially with respect to its main character, DS9 frequently places food in an important cultural, community-building role. As someone whose strongest connection to their own heritage comes from food, I would have loved to see Ziyal engage with both Bajoran and Cardassian culture through food.
Obviously, we were robbed of heaps and heaps of space station shenanigans:
Nog sharing what he learns from starfleet academy with Ziyal, Ziyal trying tube grubs and actually liking them.
Ziyal illustrating Jake’s stories into comic books or murals and the two of them creating stuff together and maybe some nerdy pop culture history discussions on the side. I feel like Jake, Nog and Ziyal would totally have weekly movie nights.
Odo looking out for her, giving her advice about handling bullies, the two of them bonding over being generally considered the odd ones out and Ziyal making paintings to add to his quarters.
Kira giving her lots of hugs, teaching her to fight, protecting her from bigots and helping her embrace her Bajoran background, teaching her Bajoran culture. Ziyal stealing clothes from Kira's closet occasionally ("You hardly ever wear anything other than your uniform, anyway! And they fit, see?"). Ziyal sneakily tagging along on Kira and Dax's trips to the holosuites, eventually convincing them to just invite her to them regularly, anyway. She knows how to use her cuteness as a force for good, but more importantly, she knows how to use it as a force for capers and hijinks.
Garak making her clothes, teaching her the art of cunning deceit and helping her embrace her Cardassian background, teaching her Cardassian culture. More hangouts in the holosuites basking on steaming rocks. And the two of them giggling in tasteful mirth at Bashir because he finds Cardassian literature boring.
Gossiping with Bashir and Jadzia, learning to treat wounds and carry a bat’leth, never growing tired of Dax’s many tales of woe, romance and adventure.
Sisko teaching her how to cook and inviting her to play baseball with him and Jake.
Quark occasionally letting her have a drink on the house because she can be more devious than him if she wants to be (“Listen, kid, if you’ll get rid of all this root beer for me, you can have as many free glasses as you want”).
Leeta and Rom being the cool aunt and uncle who buy her all the jumja sticks she wants.
Babysitting Molly and Kirayoshi and learning about plants, science and Earth history from Keiko. I wish Keiko had gotten more screen time - in general, but also of her in her element, studying plants and playing music. It's criminal that we never see Keiko play her clarinet in DS9, so I definitely would love to see the two of them playing music together if Ziyal felt so inclined.
Leaving O’Brien in the dust at darts for reasons he simply cannot fathom.
Listening to Klingon opera with Worf over glasses of prune juice.
Becoming an accidental stowaway on Kasidy’s freighter one day and Kasidy taking her with on missions to Bajor. Kasidy, Keiko and Ziyal hanging out together is a trio dynamic that never happened and definitely should have.
Talking stuff out with Ezri, the two of them commiserating over their respective identity crises.
Dressing up for nights at Vic’s.
Learning about Klingon music from that Klingon chef (I believe his name is Kaga) on the Promenade.
Punching each successive version of Weyoun in the fucking face (maybe even Weyoun 6, accidentally or intentionally, doesn't matter, it would just be funny).
Rebel strategies with Damar (I think he’d come around if he didn’t have it out for her and got over Cardassian bureaucracy), Kira and Garak.
Helping around the house whenever she and Garak visit Mila, long talks with Mila about her Obsidian Order days.
Weekly dinners with everybody.
I want to see her making friends and being supported by all the loving, caring people around her who love her (collectively and individually) more than her actual-piece-of-shit dad. I want her to grapple with the fact that certain people hate the mere existence of her enough to want her dead but also decide to go “hell with it” and fucking live for herself. She deserves to be more than the tragedy that made Dukat finally snap and descend into pure insanity. She deserves to laugh and cry and stomp her feet and dance and shout and sing and love and play and paint to her heart’s content. She deserves to be angry. She deserves to have a childhood, an adolescence, an adulthood and an elderhood. She deserves to live. And maybe to be the perpetrator of a few political assassinations as a treat.
So………....................suffice to say, I have a LOT of thoughts about Ziyal. I love her and I wish the show runners had loved her more, too.

The daughter of two worlds (4)
sully family x reader
There had been many surpass that had unfold upon the sully family and their clan, the other day when they had gotten some visitors. Brought to their village by a daughter who didn't know much about them, but was doing her duty to look out for others. Now they are in the forest soon the past will start revealing it self piece by piece.
Y/n " almost done with breakfast a few more second it will be perfect" you had made breakfast for you and your father, as neteyam was still asleep as he arrived home late last night.
neteyam " good morning my daughter"
y/n " morning dad I have made breakfast for us"
Neteyam " thank you"
y/n " umm so how was the meeting last night"
neteyam " it was good there are plans for a meeting with our guests today, as we will need to go over some details"
y/n " yes sir"
neteyam " I will need you on your best behavior but I always know, you are good child"
y/n " yes dad"
neteyam " now come on lets eat" the father and daughter soon ate breakfast, and had their usual morning talk with each other. Neteyam had left you at home, as he need to get to your grandparents house.
????? " hello neteyam are you here" you had heard your dad name getting called, you had stood up and went to entrance of the home pulled back the curtain door to see the reef navi family from yesterday.
y/n " hello my father is not here right now he is at my grandparents home, I can take you there"
aonung " oh thank you I was going to stop by to say hello to him"
y/n " your welcome" everything was already done so you stopped out of the home.
y/n " follow me please"
tonowari " thank you young lady"
y/n " I hope you all are getting use to the forest"
ronal " we are the group was able to settle in last night"
y/n " that good to hear" you had guided the group towards the Jake and neytiri home.
y/n " good morning sullies"
tuk " y/n you are here"
y/n " hello aunt tuk I had brought our guest here"
lo'ak " oh yes the meeting it was nice of you to bring them here"
y/n " thank you uncle"
neytiri " my granddaughter there you are oh tonowari and ronal welcome to our home"
ronal " hello neytiri"
Jake " it looks like everyone is here that good to know"

Jake "good and it seems like my granddaughter once again has helped you all"
rotxo " yes she was major help we stopped by neteyam place, so aonung could have some words with him"
y/n " I had told them dad was over here for the meeting and brought them here"
Jake " that good of you kiddo"
neteyam " hello everyone"
aonung " hey neteyam I stopped by your ...."
neteyam " I heard everything no need to explain it again"
aonung " oh thanks"
Jake " the human and avatars will be join us along with some other guests, that have been told of you unexpected visit here as well"
tonowari " thank you for telling us Jake"

y/n " yes grandmother"
Jake " we will make sure to tell you some of the Information of what, had unfold here today"
y/n " yes grandpa" you had nodded your head and soon waved goodbye to the group, as you had walked away from the group. It didn't take you that long to find something to do, and that was gathering and attend to the dire horse as well.
y/n " oh hello there how are you doing this morning" some of the reef navi looking at you, as you waved towards them but they soon ran off.
y/n " they might be shy and not feeling like wanting to talk" you had went to attend to the dire horse while humming, some songs from the sky people that you had learned.
y/n " our guests and new friends are very interesting I hope we get, to know them a bit more" you had pat one of the dire horse with a smile on your face.
y/n " well lets hope the great mother can shine some light on us, during these trying times"
The sully family home
tonowari " once again Jake sully thank for having us over and giving us refuge"
Jake " well after my granddaughter found you and brought you, half way here it would be wrong if I said no in front of her"
mo'at "so why have you all come here knowing you could of seek sanctuary anywhere else"
tonowari " we had once been allies and we wish to rebuild that alliance, along with being in her life as well"
neytiri " so know we know more of your motives of coming here"
ronal " we know we didn't end on good terms all those years"
neytiri " you called that girl a demon a baby that hadn't done anything wrong"
aonung " Jake and neytiri may I have some words"
Jake " speak boy now"
aonung " I know I haven't been the best husband/ mate to your son and not a good father to our daughter y/n, but I wish to start over and be in her life once again"
neteyam " my daughter she my daughter you regret her like she was worthless, when she worth everything it me just because she different ... well I'm happy she different as she sees the world unlike any of us see ... so aonung she my daughter you last right to call her your daughter all those years ago"
norm " the girl is amazing and you lost out on being in her life"
ronal " we will not let a dream walker lecture us"
tsu'tey " you will mind your tongue when you speak to my mate"
spider " yes you will show my father respect as you our guests here"
mo'at " no fighting if we raise our voice any louder word will get around, and soon enough y/n will hear" Everyone soon got silent as they are taking in mo'at words.
tsireya " we all wish to be in here life I know the actions and words, we said in the past can't be taken back easily but we wish to be in her life"
lo'ak " ........."
rotxo " please we wish to be here family like you all are her family"
aonung " Neteyam please let me in our ... y/n life please"
neteyam " you all can be stay here and we can work on the alliance, but just know if anything happens to my daughter we will have bigger problems"
mo'at " there also will be no force relationship on the girl for a time being, we will not tell her until it the right time"
tonowari " thank you"
Jake " I make this vow right now I don't want any harm to come to my granddaughter for any of you or the your clan as well"
tonowari " we will make sure everyone respect her and no harm comes to her, we will protect her like any grandparent would do for their child" neytiri had scoffed getting everyone attention she soon looked, and tonowari and ronal.
neytiri " you both make me laugh none of your have proven you deserve her in your lives, shameful what were the words you told us many years ago ronal .... oh yes it seems like the great mother has turned her back on you all" there seem to be tension in the air as both women look at each other.
tisreya " so what is y/n like if don't mind telling us"
Jake " she a kindhearted girls always helping around the village and human camps, everyone seems to love that about her"
neytiri " she always a child of wonder since she was small, she will always love to wonder off to place and explore the world"
neteyam " she very beautiful young girl her eyes a mixture for forest navi eyes and reef navi eye colors, having navi features from forest and reef along with the human dan running in her ... that makes her my beautiful daughter"

INIMIGO DA MODA - BEOMGYU E YEONJUN (TXT) INDISPONÍVEL (manura)
DEXTER - IRENE E SEULGI (REDVELVET) INDISPONÍVEL (serpentae)

Character Spotlight: Nog
By Ames
After some great blogposts on Quark and Rom, we’ve got one Ferengi left to shine the spotlight on, and that’s another of our fan favorites: Nog! Similarly to his father, Nog’s character arc over the seasons of Deep Space Nine is captivating to watch, as he grows from a little punk ne’er-do-well into a fully realized, complex person full of nuance and opportunities to learn. Which is pretty much DS9 in a nutshell.
So get prepared for some character whiplash, as we’ve got both childish pranks and severe post-traumatic stress disorder to explore in our blogpost below as we applaud the impressive versatility and range of the late Aron Eisenberg. Check out what your A Star to Steer Her By hosts have assembled as some of the young Ferengi’s best and worst moments, and check out our discussion on this week’s podcast episode (jump to 1:15:10 for Nog!). And there’ll be no running on the promenade!

Best moments
Vulcans stole my homework As usual, we’re starting off with the good moments, and early on in “The Nagus” we see Nog get pulled from Keiko’s school out of Rom’s sheer racism. But what’s most commendable in the young Ferengi is that he sticks with it, secretly learning to read in the cargo bay with Jake and entirely subverting Sisko’s expectations and systematic racism against the Ferengi!
Maybe this isn’t a problem. Maybe it’s an opportunity. While we gripe about how the Ferengi can be cartoonishly one-dimensional at times, there are times when their obsession with profit makes for good character and plot moments. When Nog encourages Varis Sul, Tetrarch of the Paqu, to view her land-rights situation in “The Storyteller” as a business negotiation, she finds a compromise everyone enjoys!
Say that five times fast Speaking of Nog’s business acumen, he’s clearly still learning some of the basics in “Progress” but we still enjoy watching as he and Jake create their own Milo Minderbinder–like syndicate to sell yamok sauce and self-sealing stem bolts for what will turn out to be great running gags for years to come… not to mention tongue-twisters that frequently plague us on the podcast.
Because I don’t want to end up like my father From what we know about Nog by the midpoint of season three (including some of the bad moments you’ll see below), it seems entirely random for him to want to join Starfleet as he says in “Heart of Stone.” But when he exposes to Sisko that he has dreams outside of making profit, of being something greater than his father, you really root for the guy and know he’s really going to do it!
Best friends in subspace When old man Jake Sisko is ready to embark on some outlandish quest to find his father, lost in subspace for decades, in “The Visitor,” there is absolutely no surprise that Nog is right there at his side in the Defiant, ready to do whatever it takes for his old friend. Sure, it’s an alternate future version of Nog, but the connection he has with Jake is as real as ever.
On Wednesday we wear red Of course, Starfleet Academy is a challenge for Nog, who has set his sights on getting into the elite and extremely cliquey Red Squad to make a name for himself. But when it turns out that Red Squad is just a bunch of cadets being used by Admiral Leyton for his coup in “Paradise Lost,” Nog helps Sisko to find the truth of the matter, even if it is reluctantly at first.
Not quite a Vulcan Hello The B-plot in “Blaze of Glory” may not entirely gel with the A-plot of watching Eddington’s sacrifice, but it’s still some cute stuff for Nog. When he stands up to Martok after a whole episode of getting walked all over by the Klingons, you’ve got to respect the guy. As Martok says, “Courage comes in all sizes,” and it’s great to watch Nog tackle his problems head on.
Have a good day! There’s just something about “In the Cards” that makes you feel good. Nog, being the best friend a kid could ask for, agrees to help Jake win his dad a baseball card, going so far as to loan all his money to Jake (I can hear every Ferengi screaming at that). And then the rest of the episode is them going around the station, making everyone have a genuinely nice day. It’s so cute!
Boogie woogie woogie Okay, Nog might only have one line in all of “You Are Cordially Invited,” but I just find him dancing with Jadzia at her bachelorette party just so endearing that I had to include it. Aron Eisenberg came up with the little Ferengi frog dance himself, and when Terry Farrell joins in, I find myself smiling every time. Thank you, Aron, for creating this adorable moment.
Have faith in the Great Material Continuum So the whole Rube Goldberg device that is the chain events of schemes in “Treachery, Faith, and the Great River” may be kind of a repeat of the deals from “Progress” but it’s still very clever. After he joined Starfleet, you could almost forget that Nog is a Ferengi under the ensign uniform, but he pulls off deal after deal after deal to get the chief the stabilizer he needs.
We have a casino to build While it is painful to watch Nog struggle with PTSD in “It’s Only a Paper Moon,” the way he knuckles down to assist Vic with his finances and to work on expanding the lounge into a casino is simply fascinating. It’s helping him cope, so that by the end of a brilliantly acted episode, he doesn’t even realize that he’s put himself on the road to recovery that is right for him.
He’s not just a hologram, he’s my friend Speaking of Vic’s casino, Nog is quick to pay back his holographic crooner friend for helping him recover by participating in the big heist in “Badda-Bing, Badda-Bang.” Nog’s part is to crack the safe in the countroom, and when he learns that it has an auto-relock tumbler that no one was expecting, he keeps his cool, gets to work, and helps the whole crew save the day!
—
Worst moments
You never get a second chance to make a first impression The very first glimpse we get of Nog in “Emissary” is him stealing shit (almost certainly at Quark’s bidding) and getting locked in the brig by Odo. He has all of two lines in the episode – “Hurry up!” and “Now!” – but he is immediately cemented as a bad seed under the thumb of his uncle. The show literally starts Nog off with such a bad reputation there’s nowhere to go but up!
What this place needs is a school Nog’s delinquent behavior doesn’t stop there. When he and Jake strike up a friendship in “A Man Alone,” it’s by sharing the experience of pranking a couple of civilians on the promenade with some Garanian bolites, which cause them to itch terribly and turn colors in a scene that legitimately looks like torture. It’s no wonder Keiko steps in by starting up her little school.
Buckets of fun! We see another of Nog’s juvenile pranks in “The Storyteller” when he fills Odo’s bucket with oatmeal and dumps it on Jake who, utterly mortified, believes for a second that they’ve somehow killed Odo. It’s a little funny in hindsight, but at the moment it just seems cruel. Jake’s reaction of terror certainly helps that along, cementing Nog’s station status as a nuisance.
No running on the promenade! There’s one more Nog prank to make the list! When he sprays some foul-smelling fluid on Tumak in “Sanctuary,” it causes a big fight to break out with the various Skrrean kids. Nog just can’t help himself. As if these refugee kids haven’t been through enough, they have this short, big-eared, froglike nuisance wreaking havoc for them. What a brat.
No one’s asking you to think, my dear As we’ve discussed in Quark’s and Rom’s respective spotlight posts before, Ferengi culture is garbage, especially how they treat females. We see some of that come through in Nog in “Life Support” when he goes on a double date with Jake and acts like a complete asshole to Riska. He’s demeaning to her, he requests she cuts his food for him, and somehow Jake’s the one apologizing!
I’ve been looking for it for two years Even when Nog has matured and joined Starfleet Academy, we get little reminders of the miscreant that he was from the start. At his coming-of-age yardsale, Kira discovers that Nog has had her lost springball racket all along and was attempting to sell it in “Little Green Men.” Sure, that was two-years-ago Nog, but he could have returned it in all that time!
Could you massage it some more? Across so many of these posts, every time oo-mox comes up it automatically makes the worst moments lists. So when Nog tricks Faith Garland into giving him oo-mox in “Little Green Men,” and not for the first time evidently, I find it abhorrent. Here’s hoping I don’t have to bring up such rapey behavior again for a while (at least until that one Ferengi episode of Enterprise).
Healthy body, healthy mind After a season or so at Starfleet Academy, Nog suddenly becomes a tightass. The conflict with Jake, now his roommate, in “The Ascent” is manufactured and trite – the kind of odd-couple antics of eponymous sitcoms. Nog is now a neatfreak. He constantly works out. He corrects Jake’s stories without permission. It’s like his character has been rewritten to fit a punchline, and an old one at that.
I won’t turn my back on you again This one’s just a little silly peeve. After the events of “Empok Nor” when Garak’s little murder spree on the titular station, Nog vows to never turn his back on Garak when they’re out searching for supplies in “Rocks and Shoals.” But then after they get hostage-handoff’ed, he immediately turns his back on Garak as they cross the levy. Dude! What did you just say?
Red Squad, Red Squad, Red Squad! Nog got tempted by the allure of the corrupt Red Squad in “Homefront” and “Paradise Lost,” but it’s in “Valiant” that he gets thoroughly taken in. Acting Captain Watters offers Nog everything he’s ever wanted: respect, rank, and some semblance of power, in exchange for his unquestioning obedience when the utterly impossible plan goes swiftly sideways. Gee, who’da thunk?
And you find that impressive? The Dominion War sure brings out the worst in a lot of people. Sisko commits some war crimes. O’Brien is typically racist about the Jem’Hadar. And Nog starts to fancy himself a soldier, bent on killing the enemy. In “The Siege of AR-558,” he blatantly admires the Ketracel-white tubes that Reese has collected as war trophies, and Quark is all of us, displaying utter disgust at this.
You don’t come into my club and start hitting customers While we totally get that recovery from the loss of his leg is a struggle, that’s no excuse for how Nog treats his friends in “It’s Only a Paper Moon.” Living in a holodeck starts off as a way to not only avoid the people he thinks are staring at him, but to avoid helping himself get better through therapy and rehabilitation. And when Jake visits, Nog is rude to Jake’s date, and then outright attacks Jake in the middle of Vic’s set. Pally!
— You’ve got a deal! That’s the end of the Ferengi spotlights (for now?), but we’ve got more great DS9 recurring characters to examine for the next couple weeks, so make sure you’re following along here. We’re also still plodding through the Xindi arc over on our watchthrough of Enterprise, so join us on SoundCloud or wherever you get your podcasts, and hail us over on Facebook and Twitter. Now say it with me: self-stealing stem– dammit!

Biografia:
Ter matérias específicas também me ajudou e eu pude me desenvolver melhor.

The Hunt I
Scheda informativa
Titolo completo: The Hunt I - Che la caccia abbia inizio Autore: Charlie Moon Editore: Sonzogno Prima edizione: giugno 2023 Pagine: 234 Prezzo: € 18,90
Trama
Builth Wells, Galles.
