Men can either evolve or die alone. The women in this movement may not have a spouse or kids but they are building their own community
Many South Korean women are so fed up with machismo that, in recent years, they’ve taken up a radical stance: refusing to marry, date men, have sex and reproduce. This movement—known as “the four no’s”—began in 2019. It has since spread, in the hope that the conservative government of Yoon Suk-yeol will adopt measures that promote gender equality.
Despite the solid academic credentials of women in South Korea, according to a study by Statista, the gender pay gap is scandalous: men earn 30% more than women. This makes the country, according to the Korean Herald, the most gender-unequal OECD nation.
Added to this is a poor work-life balance in South Korea, as well as a disparity in the distribution of domestic tasks. Women often assume the responsibility of raising children, pushing them to have to choose between working or being mothers. In South Korea, the work week is 52-hours-long.
The ”four no’s” is a desperate cry that arose after the incumbent South Korean president began his term. He has stated his intention to abolish the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family. The repercussions of the so-called “birth strike” have been severe for the country. For three consecutive years, the country has had the lowest fertility rate in the world, with an average of 0.78 children per woman.
“Life isn’t going well for many young people, for whom getting married or having children is no longer natural,” Lee Sang-lim, a demographer at the Korea Institute of Health and Social Affairs, told The New York Times.
The country is on alert, since an average of 2.1 children per woman is estimated to be necessary to keep the population stable. In 2020, the number of deaths exceeded the number of births in South Korea. Many cities are at risk of disappearing in the coming years.
Hawon Jung, the author of Flowers of Fire: The Inside Story of South Korea’s Feminist Movement, tells EL PAÍS that the movement was sparked by the governmental policies in a country that she considers to be very conservative.
“Single mothers are stigmatized, doctors refuse to give IVF to women without a male partner—even though it’s not illegal—and out-of-wedlock births represent only 2% of the total, compared to the average of 41% for women in the OECD. Marriage and childbirth are closely intertwined; women are pressured to sacrifice their career once they have a child or get married.”
Jung believes that the origin of the problem lies in the role of women since Confucianism—the prevailing ideology before the reforms of the 20th century. The philosophy advocated submissive daughters, chaste wives and self-sacrificing mothers. These beliefs were maintained due to a militarized society, where the concept of aggressive masculinity has been prevalent throughout history. This has applied from the Korean War (1950-1953) onwards, through the military dictatorship, to the ongoing confrontation with North Korea.
According to Jung, “countries where parents are more cooperative and have good family policies—such as Sweden—or that recognize the diversity of couples, like France, have been more successful in stabilizing or even increasing their birth rates.”
The movement of the “four no’s” reflects the radicalization of a frustration that has made women even opt to give up sex. According to Jung, “young women don’t consider it worth investing their time and energy into having affairs with men,” as they find it exhausting trying to find one who doesn’t follow patriarchal norms.
Feminist movements have, historically, been very effective in the country, achieving milestones such as the decriminalization of abortion in 2021, or changes in the notions of female beauty. The “escape of the corset” movement, for instance, rejects the rigid South Korean stereotypes associated with women, such as having long hair or following the K-pop beauty concept, which imposes the obligation on women to have porcelain skin, wear perfect makeup and undergo plastic surgery. It’s increasingly common to see South Korean women and girls with short hair, or daring to wear glasses rather than contact lenses. This has been a real revolution.
But there is still a long way to go in a country where gender violence doesn’t always lead to a charge or divorce. According to a survey published by the Korean Institute of Criminology and Justice, eight out of 10 men admitted to having been violent towards their partner.
Jennifer Jung-Kim, a professor of Korean History at UCLA, points out via email that, in order to solve the problems derived from the gender gap in South Korea, gender-based violence must be recognized and prosecuted as such.
“When it comes to the government and corporations, laws and policies must prohibit discrimination and guarantee equal pay and opportunities for women… especially working mothers. Socially, there needs to be a greater support system for working parents, so that either parent can take days off if a child is sick, or to attend a school meeting or event. And single parents, whether male or female, shouldn’t be stigmatized, regardless of whether they are adoptive or biological parents,” she explains.
For Jung-Kim, the most important thing is an internal change on the part of men.
“They must step up and take on household chores and childcare equally and support their wives in their career choices.”
Judy Han, a professor and vice chair of Undergraduate Affairs in the Department of Gender Studies at UCLA, points out that the movement of the “four no’s” is an invitation to rebuild society.
“Can we imagine a world where women don’t have to shoulder the full burden of reproductive and domestic work, without being degraded or exploited? Where they could have marriage equality without throwing away their professional careers? Can women imagine a world without abuse, rape and violence?” she wonders.
This approach could work in many other democratic countries where gender inequality affects birth rates. Faced with an apparently unbeatable patriarchal system, more and more women around the world are choosing to give up having children, because they cannot reconcile their personal and professional lives. The consequences can push governments to act and shape entire societies.
According to Judy Han, “anyone—men and women, straight, queer, cisgender and transgender—would benefit from taking these criticisms seriously and creating a more just society.”

Watch the trailer for chaotic queer comedy The Wedding Banquet
Wicked star Bowen Yang and Lily Gladstone’s new movie The Wedding Banquet has dropped its first trailer after premiering at the Sundance Film Festival.
The film is a remake of Ang Lee’s 1993 queer comedy of the same name, this time directed by Fire Island‘s Andrew Ahn.
In the original, a bisexual Taiwanese man has to marry a mainland Chinese woman to hide his real gay relationship and satisfy his traditional parents.
In this new remake, the male protagonist ropes in his lesbian housemate to pretend to be his other half.
The pair’s respective partners are also pulled into the fake traditional Korean wedding scheme.
The two women, Angela and Lee, go along with it because they’re raising money to have a baby through IVF.
The Wedding Banquet also stars Korean actor Han Gi-chan, Killers of the Flower Moon‘s Lily Gladstone, and Star Wars‘ Kelly Marie Tran.

Critics like The Wedding Banquet remake
Critics who saw the film at Sundance gave it strong reviews, praising the film’s laughs as well as its portrayal of queer relationships.
Andrew Ahn told Vanity Fair last November that he wanted to tell “a story that felt reflective of the community as I’ve experienced it growing up.”
“The spirit is the same [as the original], and I think it’s even more queer,” he teased.
Last November, actress Kelly Marie Tran opened up about her sexuality to Vanity Fair while discussing her role.
“I haven’t said this publicly yet, but I’m a queer person,” she said.
“The thing that really excited me about [this film] was I got to play a person that I felt like I knew.
Image: Luka Cyprian/Bleecker Street
“I don’t feel like I’m acting at all in this movie. I’m here doing this amazing movie with these amazing people.
“I’ve never been in a queer space before. I’ve never truly felt this accepted before.”
Actress Joan Chen is playing the mother of Tran’s character. She said the scenes the pair have together “are very similar to the experience that I had”.

June 11th 2024
Woke up early to go to a doctor's appointment. I had to stop by the pharmacy to pick up suppositories for my ass. I missed a delivery for the wife's IVF stuff. I just had to wait at home. I was sick of waiting so for lunch I got Tacos El Gordo. After that I had to do a poop test. I literally scooped my own poop to test it out. After that I walked the dog. The wife's flight got delayed so I picked her up when she landed. I headed to the gym and picked up some stuff for dinner. Cooked Korean BBQ. Started watching Sex and the City Movie.

Male Infertility Market: Asia-Pacific Size & Analysis

As per a study by WHO, approximately 17.5% of the global adult population (around 1 in 6) experience infertility. Among these, male factors are responsible for around 20-30% of all infertility cases. Over the past decade, sperm count has halved globally owing to irregular morphology, delayed sperm mortality, alcohol consumption, smoking, etc. This high prevalence has elevated the global demand for effective infertility treatments, including assisted reproductive technology (ART). As per our estimates, the global male infertility market is set to advance with a CAGR of 4.81% during the forecast period 2023-2030, garnering $5780.03 million by 2030.
Despite the stigma, infertility research has come a long way, with one aspect gaining recognition - male factor infertility. Studies, including those published by the Medical Journal of Australia in 2022, reveal that male infertility connects to cancer, early mortality, and other related medical issues. As a result, cutting-edge test types have been developed, including oxidative stress analysis, oxidative stress analysis, etc.
As male infertility continues to be a prevalent concern worldwide, breakthroughs in research have enabled better diagnosis and treatment options, especially in developing economies.
Asia-Pacific: A Forthcoming Leader in Male Infertility Treatment
From increasing disposable income to technological advancements, male infertility treatments have soared across various nations, especially South Korea, China, and India. As per our analysis, the Asia-Pacific male infertility market is estimated to advance with a CAGR of 5.38% during the forecast period 2023-2030, emerging as the fastest-growing region.
In terms of advancements, a research team at Kumamoto University introduced a cell sorter with microfluidic chip technology that minimized negative effects on cells and sperm. Another initiative includes the smartphone platform YO Home Sperm Test, introduced by Medical Electronic Systems in India. As the region continues to witness cutting-edge innovations, stakeholders can look forward to a promising landscape for male infertility treatments and services.
China leads with $258.11 million in 2022
An increased prevalence of diseases such as diabetes, genetic abnormalities, and infections like chlamydia, gonorrhea, mumps, and HIV has been observed, leading to a rise in male infertility cases. This has elevated the adoption of assisted reproductive technology (ART) , especially IVF. As of June 2021, China boasts over 529 ART-approved medical facilities and around 27 sperm banks.
In terms of treatment, ART dominated with $2299.32 million in 2022. From Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) and in vitro fertilization (IVF) to cryopreservation and Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD), ART encompasses a variety of treatments. Recent developments in ART have further expanded its capabilities and accessibility. For instance, a research team led by the University of Adelaide, in collaboration with Fertilis, launched a groundbreaking micro-device that offers a new reproductive therapy option for males with low sperm counts.
Another contributing factor includes proactive government steps to offer free fertility therapy to individuals through the National Insurance Program. The expansion of coverage by the National Healthcare Security Administration, announced in 2023, aims to provide financial assistance for couples seeking fertility treatments, including various ART methods.
South Korea Witnessing fastest growth at 8.51% of CAGR in 2023-2030
From lifestyle changes to the prevalence of diseases like diabetes and cancer, the landscape of male infertility is significantly transforming in South Korea. According to the National Center for Biotechnology Information, in 2020, a staggering 6.05 million Koreans aged 30 and older, constituting 19.2% of males, were affected by diabetes mellitus. Diabetes, a significant health issue, is increasingly impacting male fertility.
Cancer, another critical health concern, also plays a role in the rising number of male infertility cases. Estimates highlight that out of the 230,317 newly diagnosed cancer cases in Korea in 2020, a substantial 121,263 were in men. To address this growing challenge, numerous commercial companies and public institutions offer cutting-edge male infertility treatments. For instance, the CHA Fertility Centre in South Korea provides advanced treatments like semen analysis, karyotyping, and microsurgical multiple testicular sperm extraction (M-TESE) for infertile men.
The Shift from Conventional Approaches to Minimally Invasive Procedures
When it comes to surgical procedures, the focus has always been on safety and patient outcomes. In this regard, minimally invasive techniques have gained popularity in reducing postoperative patient morbidity compared to conventional approaches. In the realm of assisted reproductive technology, these advancements have paved the way for a range of procedures, from intrauterine insemination (IUI) to cutting-edge intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI).
While these treatments have gained momentum, medical micro-robotics is another notable technology on the horizon. Controlled by external physical fields like magnetism or ultrasound, these microrobots can perform various tasks, making them more than passive carriers. Hence, advancements in minimally invasive procedures are expected to lower infertility treatment costs, further opening avenues for the male infertility treatment market.
FAQs:
Q1) Which are the key test types in the male infertility market?
DNA fragmentation technique, oxidative stress analysis, sperm agglutination, computer-assisted semen analysis, and microscopic examination are among the key male infertility test types.
Q2) Which countries are considered in the Asia-Pacific male infertility market?
China, Japan, India, South Korea, ASEAN Countries, and Australia & New Zealand are considered in the regional market.

Baby,
As someone who has many aroace friends and isn’t really looking for romantic partners currently, I have few opportunities to talk about my “type” so I wanted to tell you. This is all coming from the lens of someone who is semi certain that they are demiromantic and demisexual.
I have no gender preference. While it would be difficult to be in a relationship with a woman or nonbinary person due to my parents being somewhat homophobic, I am not against it because I do have a tendency to form stronger emotional connections with non-men in comparison to men. However that could also just be because I don’t have any friends who are boys that fit my other criteria for being my type.
For physical appearance, it’s hard to describe. I definitely have people I think have nicer facial features than others but it varies a lot. I’ve also noticed that the more I connect with somebody on a personal level, the more physically attractive they appear to me. (That’s why I always say I’m only friends with hot people.)
In terms of personality, I prefer someone who is nice. Not someone who showers me with gifts and compliments, rather someone who has good sense. Someone who doesn’t speak badly of everyone and tries to see the good in others. Being funny is a plus, but I have the second worst sense of humor in the world so that’s not a very hard expectation to meet. (I like to think at the very least I’m funnier than people who joke about trans people and are misogynistic.) I’d prefer someone with a similar world view. I’ve always thought that their religion doesn’t matter, so long as we can respect each other’s beliefs.
For other weird assorted criteria, I want to marry someone who is fluent in at least one other language. It doesn’t matter to me if said language is sign language or French or Korean or Tagalog or Swahili or what. As someone who loves different languages and cultures, I think it’s attractive to be fluent in another language. I can’t help it.
I really really want to marry and have kids young, like early twenties. At the very least before 30. I also know though that the more I wish for this the less likely it will be that it happens or that I will end up with the right person for me. My parents were 30 and 32 when they had me, so I know it’s fine to have kids in that age range but I’m an impatient person who dreams of having their own family and maybe a PhD if they have the time for it.
I hope it isn’t too weird to hear your mom talking about what type of person they’re into. Who knows, maybe I’ll have you via IVF and you won’t have another parent so this will be super weird, or maybe I’ll end up with someone completely different from this. It’s just a teenager’s thoughts, not an adult’s experiences at this point.
Sincerely,
Joy

maya fertility journal #1
gonna start blogging more about my fertility journey as like a Thing.
under the cut is just ramblings that won't make any sorta sense.
1/21/2024
so since 2021 i've been trying to get pregnant. in 2022 i underwent two rounds of iui treatment that were unsuccessful. i have several medical conditions that are gonna make pregnancy difficult to say the least.
19-21 year old maya never thought they'd be wanting to get pregnant after the whole ovarian cancer nearly killed me thing, but here we are at 28-30 trying soooo hard. i was devastated to say the least when the 2022 iui didn't work? so i put a pause on it and just focused on transitioning out of the classroom. you can't like get pregnant when you're in that much stress, i figured.
so now i'm working at a new job and it also comes with fertility treatments covered up to 30K! this is great news cuz it's gonna be about 23-25K to do the first round of ivf...!!! ivf is def for those white rich types ngl.
anyway i was told that because of my weight increasing like 30 pounds since 2022 (i had to go off this medicine that was helping me lose weight in order to attempt iui cuz it's harmful to a baby) i had to lose 35-40 pounds. so for like seven months i've been trying to do exactly that! i was so excited this morning when i stepped on that scale and i've lost like 25 pounds. now i just need to lose an additional 10-15 pounds!!! then i can try ivf and hopefully it works! hopefully !!!!
my goal weight is to be around 250 pounds or under so that even when i stop my meds and my weight bounces back up i don't gain sooo much that it disqualifies me again. my doctor just wants me to be around 260 pounds or under.
i checked this morning and my scale says i'm 264 pounds--so hopefully the doctor's scale next month says i've hit 260~ pounds... i go in for an official weight check next month on feb 9th. the doctor scale is usually off by 5 pounds or so compared to my home scale. it's annoying af. hopefully i can get to 250 pounds or under by mid-march!!!
i...also have to still buy the sperm which is sooo ridiculously expensive. like ugh. it's $2,195 for ONE vial of sperm.
i did get my sperm donor approved tho! so that's great news as well. he's a korean dude since one of my wife's conditions for our sperm donor was that he be a man of color. because fertility treatments are like centered around rich white folks it has been a journey to try and find a man of color sperm donor that i like. there's like so few black sperm donors that have enough vials available... !! so we just went with the second highest donor pool which is typically asian men. like after white men, it's asian men, specifically east asian men.
my original sperm bank closed and my original chinese donor i used for the IUIs is no longer available. so i had to go with a new bank and i tried to pick one that has a legacy and like doesn't seem like it might fucking close!!!
we're also trying to make sure that our child can access the donor once they're 18 if they would like to. so that's adding to why it's so expensive for the sperm. like if we just went with an anonymous donor it'd be so much cheaper--however i am not going to deny my future kids the right to know their heritage.
anyway, it's been a whirlwind cuz on top of the whole trying to get pregnant thing i'm also dealing with marital issues. but... like it or not, i'll be okay even if i have to be a single parent.
it's fine.
my current goal is to lose this weight + get the sperm purchased by mid march/april so that i can do the attempt in mid april/early may to hopefully produce a pregnancy and have a baby in early 2025. i'm also trying to plan it for when my fmla will be available for me to start using because baby ! i wanna be able to enjoy the full 12 weeks with my kiddo. i also love my job for giving us six weeks of paid fmla leave... that's so cool. i'm going to save up my vacation leave to cover the rest of that 6 weeks!!!
so yeah, just a lot going on. but i think i'm in a better position emotionally and soon to be mentally and physically to attempt more fertility treatments.

STRAY KIDS FUTURE SPOUSES READING.
DISCLAIMER: Do not take this as fact. I am not a professional tarot reader nor does tarot control the future. This reading is for fun and entertainment purposes only.
HYUNG LINE: Maknae line will be uploaded shortly after this one.
REQUESTED: @zealouszinemoneysuitcase
Bang Chan.
A Leo. Wow, we're getting a lot of Leos out in these readings. I feel like these two will be very close and very emotionally connected.
This relationship will have a lot of rumours and gossip around it. People will constantly be spreading rumours of them breaking up, getting back together, cheating on one another, even though none of that is true.
I feel like this person maybe moved to Korea while looking for direction in life.
I also got a card that indicates the entertainment industry. So, I feel like this person will be an idol, possibly a foreign one such as a Korean-American or Korean-Australian.
They will either be known as a great vocalist or a great rapper, or both.
This person is born between 1991 and 1996.
Yep, definitely foreign. I feel like this person may not be a Korean-American or Korean-Australian, if they are, they are mixed race and if not, they are East Asian, I'm feeling Japanese.
Short, soft skin, black hair, brown eyes.
Lee Know.
ANOTHER Leo. I pulled a few more cards because we keep getting Leo, so I also got Capricorn and Sagittarius. I feel like these two will meet after Lee Know retires from being an idol. I also feel like this person will either be well-known online or their relationship will be spoken about a lot online.
I feel like, despite when they meet, Lee Know's partner will be genuinely good friends with the SKZ members. I also feel like these two have a relationship like best friends.
These person may enjoy going on runs, I also feel like these two will move-in together quickly. His partner also, may not be Korea-born.
I feel like Lee Know went out on a limb asking this one out, he thought it was a risk and was sure he was going to get rejected but luckily for him, he was not.
I see that these two will get married.
This person will either work in the army or with the police. Lee Know might meet her when doing his mandatory military service.
This person is born between 1997-1999.
Blonde, red or brown hair, blue/grey eyes, pale to olive skin, 5'2"-5'4".
Changbin.
Pisces. This person can experience a lot of jealousy but I feel like it's because of insecurities and fear of losing him.
These two will love each other, it's just plain and simple. People that walk past them can tell they're in love and they won't be scared of PDA.
This is a very wise and intelligent woman. One you come to for advice on anything and everything.
Job wise, she's an expert in an odd field, I feel. She is getting all that she wants from her career. She is a CEO, Doctor or someone in a high-level management position. It could be in something odd and not as heard of but I'm not sure what.
For one, I can say that these two will get married. The girl is younger by about 2-3 years, I'm feeling 2001.
Tall, red or brown hair, maybe a mix, possibly auburn, blue eyes, fair skin.
Hyunjin.
A Scorpio. I feel like these two will post a lot of couple selfies together, as well as pictures of each other on their accounts.
I feel like these two want a family together but may have a bit of trouble. So, IVF treatment may be involved.
I do feel that they have a very fulfilling, intimate, sex life as well.
This is another couple that I feel met after Stray Kids' disbands or this person may have been forced to retire due to an injury.
This person has/had a good job that they went to University for.
She works overseas, possibly is an immigrant in South Korea. She looks after animals a lot but may also work in human resources.
I feel like Hyunjin is a bit older than this person by 7-9 years but they don't mind. They love each other very much and would run away together if they wanted to.
Brown eyes, brown hair, pale skin, short with soft-to-the-touch, milky skin.

WAIT!!!!😳 Nightmares have regional origins?
Like obvious Seokjin irl is South Korean, but I always imagined your characters as disembodied souls/essence that can shapeshift to look human and they just so happen to take on South Koreans maybe because of being summoned (if that’s possible) or whatever realm portal they stepped thru opened in Korea, so they took on the locals to fit in and never changed.
Are Nightmares a physical manifestation of say some weird lore in Korea or other countries? Like the locals believe in fear or whatever concept to such a degree that it compresses a feeling into actual matter that can then shapeshift to do its bidding?
Cuz if not then that leaves:
1. Some kind of curse that can be placed on regular humans to take on features such a wings, tails, etc.
2. Nightmares are actual bodysnatchers so the Hoseok we know is not the Hoseok that was born, but that still doesn’t answer where the new “soul” itself came from. Demon? Alien consciousness upload?
3. Nightmares are man-made monstrosities born from IVF or some weird cryogenic test tube way. Half human, half demon? angel? animal? alien?
I don’t know if that was a slip or lore to Nightmare origins, but…
Huh, Candi😫 I love this series sooooooo freakin’ much; I’d buy a hard copy in a heartbeat.
Highlight of my life atm🥺 I’ll always root for you as a writer, cuz you make me think. I love thinking😌
Thank You💖
It’s a bit of a clue for the lore, I suppose. Also, all very fun theories on the matter! I find myself enjoying your ideas very much, your interest in Red Light makes me so happy, so please do keep thinking on it! 🌸♥️
Let’s just say that Nightmares do have places that they originate from in one way or another. It’s also important to remember that Nightmares do not age like humans do ♥️
Nightmares are interesting when it comes to their physical bodies. They’re pliant and can change vastly… Within some reason. That’s all I can say for now on the matter though 🤭

The LGBTQIA+ films we're looking forward to in 2025
2025 is shaping up to be a standout year for LGBTQIA+ cinema. From heartfelt dramas, romantic comedies, biopics and a musical, this year’s slate promises some inspiring queer storytelling.
Here’s a look at the LGBTQIA+ films we can’t wait to watch in 2025:
A Nice Indian Boy
Based on Madhuri Shekar’s hit play of the same name, the upcoming romantic comedy stars Karan Soni as the “socially-reserved doctor Naveen, who brings his fiancé Jay” – played by Jonathan Groff – “home to meet his traditional family”. While an Australia release date is yet to be announced, A Nice Indian Boy will be released in cinemas on 4 April 2025 in the US.
M3GAN 2.0
Much to the delight of queer horror fans, the sequel to 2023’s M3GAN is hitting Australian cinemas on 26 June 2025.
Mother Mary
Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel are set to star in this new A24 film. Mother Mary is believed to follow a love story between a pop star (Anne) and her fashion designer (Michaela).
On Swift Horses
Starring Jacob Elordi and Daisy Edgar-Jones, director Daniel Minahan said the film is “a re-imagining of the American dream, except through a queer lens.” An initial release is slated for September 2025.
The History of Sound
The History of Sound follows two young men in the shadow of WWI who are determined to record the lives, voices, and music of their American countrymen. Lionel (Paul Mescal) and David (Josh O’Connor) begin to log the events, whilst falling in love in the process. An official release date is not yet available, but it is believed The History of Sound will have its premiere at Cannes Film Festival in May 2025.
The Housekeeper
Uma Thurman and Bridgerton’s Phoebe Dynevor will be starring in this lesbian drama. The Housekeeper follows Danni (Thurman), a housekeeper at the brooding Mande Hall who falls for the beautiful novelist Daphne Du Maurier (Dynevor).
The Light Fantastic
Set in Blackpool, a gay firefighter dreams of becoming a professional ballroom dancer and battles the rigid traditions of the ballroom world under the guidance of his ultra-traditional instructor. A release date is yet to be announced.
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo
A film based on the bestselling 2017 novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid is coming to Netflix after the streaming giant secured the rights in 2023. While details remain scarce, fans are hoping for a 2025 release.
The Wedding Banquet
Starring Bowen Yang and Lily Gladstone, The Wedding Banquet is a remake of Ang Lee’s 1993 queer romantic comedy.
The official synopsis for the upcoming rom-com reads: “When Min’s (Han Gi-chan) boyfriend Chris (Yang) rejects his spontaneous marriage proposal, he convinces his best friend Angela (Kelly Marie Tran) to marry him instead, paying for her partner Liz’s (Gladstone) IVF treatments in exchange for his green card. Their plans for a subtle city hall elopement are turned upside down when Min’s grandmother makes a surprise trip from Seoul to throw them an extravagant Korean wedding banquet, which will fund the IVF treatments.”
Untitled Christy Martin Biopic
Starring Sydney Sweeney, the currently untitled project will chart the true story of queer athlete Christy Martin as she rises to become America’s most well-known female boxer in the 1990s.
Wicked: For Good
After stealing hearts with the first film this year, the second part of the long-awaited adaptation is set to premiere in November 2025.

Good morning kisses
A short Hannah x Heather story I wrote. Just a little slice of life and whatnot Plus Hannah being a sweetheart.
The morning sunlight sunk through the pink curtains as Heather softly stirred awake; her green orbs fluttered open to the smell of fresh pine and cinnamon as she sat up. The fall air was a welcoming touch.
It was another beautiful day in the now reformed Inner City. It’s residential people living in peace since the demise of the former group organization: The Anarchy and its leader Fredo Mancini. Hannah had shot him when the crazed man had threatened to blow up the courtroom when he was on trial for killing the editor of Daily Dawn, Vito Pioni.
In the aftermath,She wanted to leave her past behind. The Korean woman wanted to focus on more important things; her career, Heather and Art. Because of the traumatic experience that happened 3 years ago, Hannah took up the hobby to help her escape her stressful life by drawing out her emotions.
“Ow! Damn dog!”, Hannah cursed as she knocked over a picture frame. Outside the bedroom, Heather can hear her lover’s struggles as she approaches the bedroom, smiling mischievously. The aroma became more enticing. Hannah entered the bedroom, carrying Heather’s breakfast.
“Good Morning Sweetheart”
“Good morning, Love”, Hannah greeted as she set the tray on her wife’s lap. Heather salivated upon seeing the bowl of oatmeal with blueberries alongside with a clementine. Hannah laid down next to her, “Has your morning sickness been getting any better?”.
“Mmmm… Most mornings but I’ve been getting really exhausted lately. With the baby coming and all”, Heather sighed as she rubbed her pregnant belly. The two had agreed to conceive through IVF; Heather being the carrier and an old highschool friend of Hannah being a sperm donor. So far there weren’t any complications as Heather was entering her second trimester.
On the other hand, Hannah had been extra affectionate towards her wife. Kissing her on the lips before work, putting Heather’s needs first before hers and even kissing her growing bump.
Hannah rested her head on her wife’s pregnant belly and sure enough, The raven haired woman can feel the gentlest of kicks from their unborn child.
Heather giggled at her wife, ruffling her ash black hair. “ She’s saying good morning”, Heather cooed as Hannah traced her finger over her pajama shirt and fixed the collar. Heather took a spoonful letting the warm soupy meal trail down her throat.
“Do you think it’s going to be a girl? My parents and Russell said that it’s gonna be a boy”, The Korean woman commented as she stared at the ceiling.
“Maybe although I do crave sweets all the time; I whole-heartedly believe that it’s gonna be a girl.” Heather replied. Hannah made an ‘I see’ squeak.
“To be honest, I don’t know if I’m ready to be a parent yet. Having to deal with messy diapers, Baby bottles, and all those kid shows I’m forced to watch; Hell, I’ll even have to put my anime figurines up on a high shelf so the kid won’t choke on parts”, Hannah nervously said, propping herself up on one elbow.
While Hannah didn’t like children, she also loathed parents who were irresponsible with raising them; recalling the time she had to examine the remnants of Augusta’s phone during Ice-P’s murder, complaining how children shouldn’t have phones. Overtime, Hannah would take time to reflect on that there are good parents who work hard to raise their kids, parents who are neglectful-having worked on child abuse cases- and parents who try to work to make ends meet.
“I’m kinda nervous to become a mommy but I’m excited to raise our baby because I know I’ll have you by my side to help me”, Heather beamed, making Hannah smile.
The two shared a kiss then Hannah kissed Heather’s bump. Before the Korean woman had an idea, “ Why don’t we go on our spring trip a bit early after all we could both use it”.
“And here I thought I had to drag you out of the house. What changed your mind?”Heather questioned. Hannah shrugged, “I thought I could use a break from the office plus It would be good to spend time with you and our kiddo”, she rested her finger against her wife’s rosy cheek.
“That’s would be lovely”
