(Yall I don't fuck with Zico but for the sake of bnd, I will write him to be a better person, so pls bare with me)

He had scouted her in Jan of 2022, and she began training in Sept 2022 and debuted in May 2023 in BoyNextDoor. She had a gap between when she was scouted and when she started training because she actually debuted as a celebrity chef with her own KBS cooking show —‘Chu-Chef Next Door! Our daughter's recipes!’ ('추셰프 넥스트도어! 우리 딸의 레시피!' or '옆집 추셰프! 우리 딸의 레시피') And then it was announced she was going to debut in KOZ's first group. So, she had a solid fan base prior. Her show has been airing since March 2022 and has run for 4 seasons—one season per year. The show is still airing Season 4 in 2025.

She was added last minute as Zico desperately wanted her in the group, and at first the other members didn’t warm up to her as everything had been finalized and she wasn’t even a trainee and suddenly added to the line-up.

Zico had to convince her dad since he had planned for her to stay in the culinary industry. But her father encouraged her to try something different since she’s been in the culinary industry since childhood—she honestly did it on a whim. But she somehow ended up in the final line-up for a boy group. Her addition felt weird at first since the group is literally named ‘Boynextdoor’ but Zico had already had the idea to add a girl into the group long ago but scrapped the idea because he didn’t find anyone who fit his vision of the group, until he saw Iruri perform. They finally were able to fulfill Zico’s idea of having a girl in the group. Officially, they are a co-ed group. Zico’s explanation for her addition is that the members are her ‘boys next door’, and it is depicted in their debut concept video that the boys are her neighbors and the boys next door.

She had performed her new song 'Drowning' which she had written and produced herself. Zico loved the song, her voice, and talent so much, which is why he immediately placed her in the line-up. For her teaser video, they debuted ‘Drowning’ as an her first song after revealing herself as 'Audie'. The song charted no.1 for months. She had become a trending topic in Korea—not only for her song that is still charting top 5 til this day and had become Korea's anthem—but also for her background.

Korea had become obsessed with her background—the first idol from born and raised in Switzerland, and she was a sous chef in a michelin star restaurant as well. And she hasn't even debuted yet. She was officially the most anticipated idol to debut. She also shocked netizens with her visuals. Plastic surgery rumors started, but people dug up her old photos from her father’s restaurant to disprove the rumors.

Iruri was the only member to be teased to the public. At first people thought Zico was going to debut a girl group upon seeing Iruri, so Boynextdoor’s debut as a Co-ed group was a surprise. The members at first were awkward around her, she was the last to be added to the groups line-up and had trained for the shortest. Other members had trained for years, while she wasn’t even a trainee when she was added into the group. So to be frank—some of the members held slight resentment towards her at the beginning. Everyone and their mother did covers—whether it was ‘Love win all’, ‘Bamyanggang’, or ‘Small Girl’ —or dance covers of ‘Armageddon’, ‘Mantra’, or ‘Whiplash’. 2024 was her year, not only was she winning awards for her cooking show, she won Artist of the Year as a rookie at MAMA. BND couldn’t be any more proud, but she never separated herself from them either, always using any opportunity to promote her group.

ᯓ she was able to collab with Bruno Mars because, actually he is an acquaintance of her father, and when he heard that she had recently debuted as an artist, she asked him personally if he and her could make a song together. And they wrote APT together. And we all know how overplayed that song is, and well-loved it is—similar to magnetic as well or bamyanggang are to Koreans.

ᯓ and lastly, she released ‘Gnarly’ and ‘Like Audie’ in March 2025. ‘Like Audie’ was written and produced by Zico and Iruri, while Gnarly was a demo. And for the ‘No Genre’ album, she had a solo feature ‘Style’, which she also released as a single.

ᯓ Yoo Jaesuk has expressed that his family’s favourite show is actually ‘Chu-Chef Next Door!’, that his wife watches it religiously, that when they met—he said ‘i’m sorry to interrupt the script but i really need to ask for your autograph or else my wife, Kyung-eun will ignore me’. And later on, both Yoo Jaesuk and Iruri posted instagram posts of her having dinner with his family in his house, he and his wife and invited her over, and of course she cooked for them. At first his wife was going to cook for them, but Iruri declined the offer—saying that she didn’t want to make her feel pressured or burdened to cook for a chef. She even asked Jaesuk for Naeun and Jiho’s preferences, or any requests they have, and of course she fulfilled every request. She prepared a full michelin star course meal for them, with the full phases and dessert as well, and multiple cuisines as well—as Kyung-eun, his wife wanted to personally taste French and Italian cuisine. After that, she would come over once in a while to have dinner with them, and Yoo Jaesuk has expressed that out of all the young idols or celebrities he’s met and befriended, he genuinely felt as if Iruri was part of his family. Naeun also loves singing Boynextdoor’s ‘If I say I love you’ now, especially Iruri’s part.

ᯓ Iruri would be spotted in Yoo Jaesuk’s or his wife’s instagram posts on random days as well, as she gets invited to hang out with them on any family outings. Yoo Jaesuk publicly during an interview revealed that, his wife had adopted Iruri into their family and that ‘she’s their family while she’s in korea’. Funny thing is tho—Jaesuk has said that he is lowkey scared of her, and he becomes a little drained because of her high energy and its like he has three toddlers to take care of, and one is fully grown and is louder and even more energetic than the actual children. Mostly because she tires him out mentally, with her absurd humor or weird behavior. She also mentioned him during her acceptance speech for winning her daesang, calling him her second dad while he was lowkey laughing at her crying. But when all the winners had to stand together, he walked to stand next to her to wipe her tears and pat her head, he also rubbed her back to calm her down.

ᯓ she continues to cook. She actually won over the boys with her food—which makes sense. No one even knew she was actually a chef, as she didn’t find it relevant to tell. Until randomly announcing it to them when they were gushing over her cooking.

ᯓ the boys always look so flabbergasted when she speaks foreign languages, like they can’t compute how those vowels and sounds are coming out her mouth. But they always randomly ask her what something is in german or french or italian or romansh

ᯓ she is always cooking, she is always cooking in the dorms, as she makes most of their meals for them. If she is not cooking, she’s preparing meals for them. She honestly doesn’t know how they survive without her, like she truly wonders how they eat if she’s not there. And on days where she doesn’t cook, they literally survive on ramen and take-out. She’s the sole reason they eat properly.

ᯓ Iruri is truly in her element in the kitchen, the members said she spends more time in the kitchen than her own room. She doesn’t always cook michelin meals obviously, Iruri just cooks normal meals for them, because how can she make 7 servings of michelin level meals every week? But on special occasions she will make a michelin meal

ᯓ bnd revealed that, they have so many food/cooking episodes or themed videos because the staff just want an excuse to eat michelin level food. There is countless footage of her cooking and feeding the staff, and the staff excitedly eating her food.

ᯓ but Iruri feeding people(™) isn’t limited to her members and staff but also to onedoor their fans. For example, for ISAC, Iruri personally made around 300 lunch boxes for onedoor and their staff. And that went viral, alongside onedoors sharing their food to other fandoms since she made too much. She shared the extra lunch boxes with the mcs and staff of ISAC. but she said in the future she would probably only do it for her members, fans and their personal staff because it was really hard to make 300 servings. Iruri and bnd trended on twitter for this, with people saying how lucky onedoors were. And also, Iruri preparing the lunch boxes made them late for 5 hrs, as it took her roughly 2-3 days to prep and finish all the food.

ᯓ Iruri revealed that, when she was young, her dad would put her to bed—but he would stay up late making her lunches and experimenting with meals for his restaurant. but he would do it much slower than normal because he didn’t want to make any noise that could wake her up. But she would sometimes struggle to sleep without the presence of her dad in the same room, so she’d waddle to the kitchen and peek to see him quietly and slowly cook her lunch and breakfast for the next day. ᯓ Zico also pushes her to have a solo career as well. she has her own individual songs, only because she produces them herself and Zico wants to release them. But her solo schedules (regarding music) is shorter than boynextdoor's usual activities. meaning she'll appear once or three times per music show, then only a handful of interviews or other promotional content on other shows, but that's it. as she has to focus on her cooking show more.

ᯓ bnd members expressed that they're so thankful for her because, even though she has a lot for solo schedules, she always introduces herself as bnd's member. she is always promoting bnd. she'll promote bnd before her own songs.

ᯓ sometimes their schedules overlap. she'll be promoting one of her solos during a bnd comeback. for instance, like during 'i feel good' era, bnd were against iruri for no.1. and if she won for that week, bnd members will stay on the encore stage with her

ᯓ since leehan cant cook to save his life, the members joke that 'good thing, iruri is there cook for him for the rest of his life'. those two have their own fixations, leehan with his love for fish, and iruri with her love for food and cooking. they both indulge the other in their own hobbies. leehan is apart of her routine for grocery shopping, and although she doesn't trust him in the kitchen, he'll sit there and watch as she meal-preps for the week. mostly helping her clean up. and iruri will sit with him for hours in silence, watching over his fish. sometimes, they'll just be in each others company—iruri cooking dinner and leehan sitting watching his fishes (since the tank is literally in the kitchen). and he appreciates that she doesn't even complain that his fish tank is in the kitchen counter, especially with how diligent and meticulous she is with her kitchen. he is the exception. as otherwise she would have placed it somewhere else.

ᯓ let's be honest. the only reason that dorm is fully stocked with food and proper cooking equipment is because of Iruri. have yall seen that vlog where jaehyun, taesan, and leehan were making a lunch box for woonhak for his csat exam and they didn't have proper tupperware ... well it wasn't a problem because iruri has a whole dedicated cabinet for her precious containers. honestly that kitchen wasn't big enough for all of her equipment, so she actually bought extra storage and an extra mini fridge.

ᯓ she constantly travels between dorms because she uses the other dorms fridge space and kitchen as well. Basically every day they'll alternate between dorms. they sometimes cant eat together, so iruri will prepare a whole tray of food for the 3 members in the other dorm, and leave it on their table.

ᯓ so jaehyun, leehan, woonhak, and iruri share a dorm in the lower level, while sungho, riwoo and taesan share the upper level dorm. sungho and iruri are the sole reason those dorms aren't a health hazard.

ᯓ even though both of them are extroverted, and iruri is known for her wacky energy— with leehan, she becomes more mellow. usually allowing him to lead, meaning he's the yapper and she's the listener. usually happens when she's cooking. iruri is used to the noisy restaurant atmosphere so she needs some noise as she cooks. and leehan is there to occupy the silence with his fish facts. and she loves every second, she's actively listening okay—she'll actually stop cooking if he stops talking, 'why did u stop? keep going' 'arent you bored of hearing me talk?' of course she's not. she'll probably never be bored of listening to him.

ᯓ leehan is also her designated taste tester, he gets the first bite out of everyone. she'll feed him a bite, ask if its ok, and he'll give her a nod and temple kiss as a reply before setting out the bowls for the members.

ᯓ also, iruri only calls him leehan if the cameras on, otherwise she'll always call him donghyun. but occasionally she will slip up, and won't notice— but he does, he'll chuckle and his eyes just soften. he loves that she calls him donghyun instead, and that she literally fights herself on camera—to say leehan instead. he actually calls her by her name too but without any honorifics, since they're dating. but on camera he'll call her noona.

Weak Hero Class is based on a web novel of the same name. Season 1 is the prequel and backstory for the protagonist, Yeon Si-eun. in this chapter, i write about the plot of whc, with the addition of saemi's character ahn suha, and also behind the scenes filming whc 1 and 2. be sure to check out everything with a link!

okay, so now in this drama, everything is kept the same as the original but instead, the main protagonists are yeon sieun and ahn suha, played by park jihoon and do saemi.

suha and suho are twins, suha used to attend an all-girls school til she got into a fight—her vs 17 other girls—which got her expelled and none of the other girls school would accept her, so she joined her twin brother's school. when she first transfered, some of the boys tried to flirt with her but her brother shut them down. suho was well-known in their school for being an ex-mma fighter, and suha was known to also be an ex lethwei (explained) and muay thai fighter, which is why she won her 1 v 17 fight.

suha got into that fight because she was fed up with the bullying that kept happening in her school—in a way she was like baku, but she was unsuccessful because she won the fight but got expelled. while baku was able to maintain eunjang and keep them from fighting. suha, suho and baku parallel each other. but the difference was, suha fought soley for sieun, suho fought for suha, and baku fought for eunjang.

during their first meeting, when suho got caught up in that fight with the baseball guys, when he was about to get attacked from behind, we were introduced to suha as she deflected the bat that was aimed at suho, in the process she pushed sieun's desk making his pencils fall. when she sat back down to her seat, she looked at the person who sat behind her—yeon sieun, staring at her, when she stared back, suho pointed out that it was her fault his stuff was on the floor, she apologised and set them back on his table. while suho and suha were bickering about lunch, suho who dragged a chair to suha's desk, sieun from behind just stared—eyes flickering between the twins.

suha is a natural flirt—she would keep flirting with sieun, while suho would just look at her in disgust. sieun would just blankly stare at her. he would often judge the twins as they stuffed their face with food or when they bickered constantly, quietly telling them they were too loud. and sieun would keep the lights off in the morning when he saw suho and suha sleeping in the classroom. and when beomseok ran to suha, asking her to help sieun, she did so immediately, suho tried to stop her saying it's none of her business. but being stubborn, she brushed him off and followed beomseok. suho reluctantly followed, worrying for his twin.

and when the twins went to work at the restaurant, suha pulled sieun aside to clean up his wounds, suho'd just shook his head at them—bickering with her saying how she was slacking off. when the four of them were eating, while beomseok eagerly copied suho, suho made another wrap and shoved it in suha's mouth, prompting her to complain that he hadn't washed his hands, and she made sieun a wrap before feeding him it without thinking.

another moment between sieun and suha was when she complain how chapped sieun's lips were, so she made him sit on the desk, while she applied her chapstick on his lips, getting so close he could feel her breath on his face. sieun just intently stared at her face being so close. and when she locked eyes with him, and saw that his eyes flickered down to her lips, time froze for them. with her standing between his legs, him looking up at her with those eyes— well before suho interrupted them. or the scene when sieun ran off to follow the guy, and suha instinctively followed him, and when it came to— suha exhaustedly exclaimed how crazy he was and why would he follow him, sieun just simply said with labored breathing 'you came', that only made suha scoff and smile, joking how he was taking advantage of their friendship now.

or the moment when suha and suho were on his motorbike, and they ran into sieun on the bus—suho made a comment of how they kept running into each other and that sieun and suha must have been married in a past life. which made her slap his back, mumbling to not make sieun uncomfortable. but suho noticed the looks sieun would give suha, there was something soft in his eyes when he looked at her. like how there was slight amusement in his eyes when she ate, or when he let her borrow his gym uniform when she sweat through her uniform.

and or the first time they ran into each other was when she—literally ran into him. she was on her morning run to school (while suho was still at the part time job), she didn't notice him and she ran directly into sieun, causing her to cage sieun against the wall, and they just stayed like that while staring intently into each other eyes—entranced, until sieun suddenly blinked and asked 'what are you doing?' his voice softened, which shocked him at how soft he sounded—and didn't go unnoticed by her. suha, snapping out of her daze quickly apologized, clearly flustered stepping back and rushing off before sieun could say anything else.

and during the hospital visit, when suho was in the hospital bed and sieun had brought him food, suha made a joke teasing suho, which made sieun crack a smile. the twins completely froze—mid fight stared in disbelief that—not only was he smiling but also laughing, he couldn't hide his amusement anymore. suha—who was still staring with hearts in her eyes made a comment that he looked more handsome when he smiled, which he surprisingly flirted back mumbling 'it's only for you', which the twins caught, and suho stared at them suspiciously and accusatoryingly (? is that a word). suha loudly denied it, which made her more suspicious to suho, while sieun didn't answer the question.

but at the end of the series, suha was the one who got hurt. she found the people who hurt sieun and went to return the pain but when she arrived, she was faced with cowards who couldn't fight with their own fists but used weapons—she was scared but she fought them anyways, for sieun, and she was winning but thats when someone attacked her from behind, hitting her on her head with a dumbell. she staggered back, clearly with a concussion, her distracted state allowed someone to stab her.

she looked down to see that there was a knife in her, when she looked up she made eye contact with beomseok who was watching with a shocked expression, because he didn't plan for them to use a knife. she coughed up blood as she breathless spoke to him directly —'beomseok-ah, you really crossed the line' before collapsing and clutching her wound as she bled out, hitting the floor hard. her last moments before she went unconscious was suho coming into view— he ran to her holding her face in his hands, with a frantic look on his face, she could only slightly hear him yelling for her not to close her eyes. but she could not fight the pain anymore. and suho with his twin's blood on his hands, was too distraught to realise beomseok had appeared behind him, and when he turned around it was too late to stop the small dumbell that was hurled at his head.

however, although suho recovered with a minor conussion—his twin suha wasn't so lucky. she was comatosed—fighting for her life. suho—although still recovering would sit in her room, never leaving. only when the nurses and doctor had to physically drag him back to his room for his own recovery, did he leave her. he could still see her blood on his hands, even though they had washed it off him ages ago. their grandmother tried her best to cheer him up. but suha was his twin—the face he always saw, the eyes that always stared back at him with mischief—never opened again. he would quietly beg her to open her eyes and yell at him—bicker with him—hit him like she always does. but she was so still, breathing slow and faint. they had almost lost her so many times. the doctor said that if they weren't found when they were, suha would have died. yes suho was injured, but he'd survive, as his concussion was minor, as beomseok had mostly missed with the dumbell— but with suha's physically damage from the hit and the stab wound, she would have bled out.

but the one who suffered the most was sieun. the last time they met was when she went to check up on him, and noticing that he got hurt, even though he tried to hide his injuries—it pissed her off and she wanted to hurt the people who did that to him. and when she directly told him she would fight them— he tried to stop her, saying he didn't want her to get hurt. she simply smiled at him for the last time before joking that 'she doesn't get hurt' and to trust in her.

if he had known that was the last time she would look at him, he would have fought harder for her to stay.

when he visited her after he had beat up the guys that hurt her and beomseok—suho wasn't there, but their grandmother was there. she already knew who he was, revealing that suha talks about him often. even teasing him that she believed suha liked him, before leaving the room to find suho. sieun just sat and stared her unconsious form. he held her hands as he cried. apologising, blaming himself for what happened—when he heard suho behind him call him an idiot. when he turned to see suho standing in the doorway, still holding on the the iv pole and hospital gown, he inhaled shakily. sieun was going to reiterate this apology when suho cut him off— 'you idiot', suho stood beside suha's bed and quietly scolded sieun that suha wouldn't let him take all the blame.

suho then revealed that he heard about what sieun had done, and that he would probably be expelled from their school. suho also told sieun that his grandmother was making him take a break from school and his part-time jobs— to look after suha and recover.

and that was sort of the last time sieun saw suho for a while.

during season 2, whenever sieun would visit suha, he didn't see suho. but suho's name would be all over the visitor logs. and sieun would overhear the nurses mentioning suho, saying how he was a regular visitor—that he would visit every other day, and so sieun would visit suha on the days where suho wasn't there. because he couldn't bare to face him again.

sieun continued to send suha texts, even though he know she couldn't read them. until one day he saw the 'read' on his messages, he rushed to the hospital— only to see suho entering her room with her phone in his hand. sieun was to scared to see suho. he knew now that suho had seen his messages, and what was going on in his life at eunjang. he was scared to face him, because what would suho think? of how he got into another fight? would suho make him stay away from suha forever?

but suho had already seen sieun. he actually would see sieun wait outside suha's room to scared to go in. suho would mutter under his breath 'that idiot' everytime he saw sieun's figure on the chair outside her room or his name on the visitor logs— did he forget that suho could also see his name on it? but he never approach him. apart of him was also scared to face his friend. what was he supposed to say? he was so caught up on his recovery that he didn't know how to apporach sieun. but suho also didn't want to scare sieun off, so he let him sit outside. thats when he read the messages on suha's phone. he read the updates from sieun. apart of him was relieved to know what was going on in his life, and he was happy to hear he was making friends. suho also almost reached out when he read that sieun got into more fights—he was scared to death that things would repeat itself— but suho couldn't bring himself to send that text. so he left sieun's messages on read, a way to let him know that suho knew.

and when he saw a face he didn't recognize outside suha's room, he started getting worried for sieun. he was hiding in the corner when he overheard this person in an orange jacket threaten sieun, he wanted step out and confront that guy—suho gathered that he probably threaten sieun with suha, which angered him but before he could act, they had already left. when he was sure that guy left, he rushed to check on suha, relieved to see that annoying jerk didn't hurt her.

then the phone call came.

it was actually suho who called. in frantic daze suho had called sieun, telling him to come quick—there was a problem with suha. he didn't even register to himself that—that was the first time he had heard sieun's voice in a long time. he was too panicked as he watch the doctors work frantically on suha to hear the sound of the truck's horn through the phone.

sieun was so stunned to hear suho's voice but more so what suho was telling him. suho didn't even greet him, too distressed to properly talk to him. so when he heard that suha's condition suddenly became worse, his heart dropped—everything went silent around him. until the sound of a horn tore him out of his daze.

suho was so exhausted. the adrenline that ran through him when the doctors were rushing around suha, he didn't even have time to calm down before sieun's mother called him—sieun was unconsious from an accident. suho didn't even blink as he ran to sieun. he got there the same time as his friends.

as baku, juntae and gotak were standing infront of the emergency room staring at sieun's state through the glass—suddenly a voice echoed through the halls. the boys at first didn't even pay attention until they heard the voice mention sieun. gotak was the first to turn his attention to the stranger that was panickly asking the nurses where yeon sieun was. suho didn't even notice the three strangers standing next to him, staring at him curiously. espeically baku.

the boys slowly gathered that suho must have been someone from sieun's past. they had heard the rumors. they already knew that sieun has a friend he visits. juntae was the one to first connect the dots—suho was that old friend. the boy standing in front of them was the one that recovered and his sister was the one sieun visits.

there was a silence between them. something unspoken. the worries they all shared for sieun. suho noted the scrapes—he was suddenly was reminded of the past—he quickly shook that thought away to greet them. he introduced himself, before he could explain his relation to sieun juntae said 'you're that friend—the one who recovered—your twin sister is..' he trailed off, unsure about mentioning suha, a sensitive toptic to sieun so they assumed it would the same for suho as well.

the four of them waited in silence as baku quietly cried—suho noticed and he thought to himself that they should know what happened. so suho told them the whole story. about the bullying, the fights, and most importantly—suha. he had a fond smile when he talked about her, he even laughed at the memories of the four of them, of how sieun used to pretend that suha's flirting didn't fluster him, especially since he never pulled away from her, or how sieun would tolerate the twin's bantering and bickering. he thanked the boys. thanking them for being there for sieun, even if he stubbornly pushed them away, and knowing sieun, he knew sieun tried to. he even joked that sieun has a thing about him that makes people want to protect him or befriend him—commenting he knew that first hand.

the mood lightened up slightly when suho would share stories at gotak's request. the boys would scoff or giggle slightly at the stories of how sieun would get so flustered at suha's teasing—they could visualize his reaction. but suho was interrupted when sieun's mother came to update them on his condition. that he was fine, and he was resting and catching up on sleep.

but what shocked suho was when she asked the boys not to be friends with him anymore. this was the same conversation she had with him back then—he was getting deja vu. when sieun's mother looked at him—he held his breath, it had been a while since they met. the last time they met was when he was in the hospital recovering and sieun's mom had visited suha. they didn't speak—she just quietly passed him an envelope and a basket. the basket had flowers and gifts for suha and suho, there was a letter—she had apologized and told him that she would cover all of their medical bills. she also mentioned that sieun didn't know that she was doing so and not to tell him. that envelope had enough money to cover his medical bills, suha's on-going treatment and to ensure he didn't need to take on anymore jobs. she left a small note of her contact—so that she could pay suha's medical bills in the future.

a while later, after baku had declared war on the union—when sieun woke, the first face he registered was baku's but when he glanced behind him, suho was also there. that was the first time they had made eye contact since their last conversation. suho heard sieun's pleas to go to suha, baku was holding him saying 'your friend, she's fine, they said she's okay' but sieun was insistent, he had to see her state himself. sieun continued to weakly struggle against baku's hold until suho spoke—his voice cut through sieun's desperate trance. suho put his hand on his shoulder—directing sieun's attention to him, 'she's better now. suha's okay i promise you sieun-ah' sieun's breath caught in his throat, his eyes welling up with tears, finally letting out a relieved breath. he had to hear it from suho to trust that suha was okay. he placed his hand on suho's, which were still on his shoulder. he needed to ground himself. suho's voice had already brought him back to reality, suho's presence reassured him.

baku could only sit there and watch them. the unspoken bond between old friends who have been through so much. the lingering presence of another person still haunting them. he could feel the air around them was heavy but it was warm. the air that was circluating the room was heavy with the weight of almost losing someone dear, whether that someone dear was sieun or suha—baku wasn't sure but he knew that to this new friend, suho—almost loosing both his friend and his twin sister in a span of a few hours still weighed heavy on him. suho and baku had briefly conversated throughout the week that sieun was still asleep. baku had learned more about their past— and suho had become apart of their little group. he fit in well. but they all knew that not until the union was defeated, none of them could relax.

suho offered to help with the fight, even coming with them to the location— saying how he wanted to help them, even if he didn't know them for long, 'friends of sieun are a friends of mine' and 'it's what suha would have done' but sieun firmly forbid him to even be there. juntae also declined the offer, gotak expressing that this was eunjang's fight, and baku joked that he wasn't a eunjang student so it would be unfair—which gotak said 'since when do the union care about fairness', which only prompted baku to boast about his 'morals' and 'honor'. so suho, who couldn't agrue—stayed behind, staying with suha as he sent them off.

it was a nice day out, when the boys were hanging out on the basketball court. juntae and gotak playing while baku and sieun were sat on the steps, and baku teasing sieun'. when sieun got a call from suho.

the four of them ran like their life depended on it. the boys knew how important suha was to sieun and suho—someone they grew to befriend and care deeply of. so when they saw that sieun suddenly botled away from the court, they didn't question it, they followed him—they knew it was suha and for sieun, they'd follow him anywhere.

when they finally arrived at the hospital, the group spotted suho. pushing a girl in a wheelchair. her hair longer, her bangs grown out, even though she had aged—without her permission, she was still just as beautiful. she didn't look like suho at all—if the boys didn't already know, they wouldn't have guessed they were twins. when suho spotted them—he came to a stop, causing suha to look up at him confusingly, they saw him mumble something to her, then he walked towards them, she still hadn't noticed them—too busy taking in the fresh air.

when he was pushing suha around—he had taken her out of her room to enjoy the fresh air and the sun's warmth, a break from the hospital's cold air. with suha, he was talking to her about their new friends and catching her up—like when the boys fell asleep together on the bus. that day he had waited for their return, but when their bus came to a stop, no one came out, so he stepped in—only to find them all asleep, leaning on each other, exhausted from everything. that first time they all had peaceful sleep.

sieun just froze. he stood still—unsure what to do—what to say. he took his sweet time taking in suha's appearence. her bangs had grown out framing her face now, her eyes looked tired but also content. she still looked the same. everyone had aged around her, their maturity was evident, and although she too—aged, she still felt stuck. sieun could see her inner conflict by the way she fiddled with her sleeve—his sleeve actually. she was wearing his hoodie. the hoodie he had left behind—in her room, the countless times he had used that hoodie to keep her warm.

his body visibly relaxed the moment his eyes were set on her. sieun was pulled from his daze when suho stood next to him, and baku had stepped forward—encouraging him 'go to her' and suho putting his hand on his shoulder 'she's been waiting for you' that made sieun look at suho, his eyes silently asking him if that was true, suho nodded faintly, reassuring him 'you were the first thing on her mind when she woke'. that gave sieun the courage to avert his eyes back to her. with a slight push from suho, sieun timidly waddled towards her.

hearing the murmering of voices behind her, she recognized the presence of the person that was constantly occupying her mind. she prepared herself for when she turned her head to face him. she felt the world pause when she made eye contact with sieun. suha's eyes flickered in recognition at those eyes. those damn eyes. they enchanted her, the sole sight of him made her forget the rehearsed conversation she had imagined of their reunion. she took in his figure. he looked stronger, less fragile, he looked healthier—happier. from what she had learned from suho, she knew that he had made friends. she also had finally read the messages he wrote her, her heart ached —worse than her body did when she was stabbed, hearing the pain and grief he went through during her comatose state. looking at him now, he looked older too, which made her feel a little weird since she still felt as if she hadn't aged.

sieun finally got a good look at her. her frame is lighter, but mostly he could finally see her eyes—eyes that no longer closed forever. eyes that were staring right into his soul, he had replayed and imagined how this scenario would play out, but like her—upon seeing her eyes, he forgot everything he wanted to say. but his eyes softened, they welled up with tears that were holding on for dear life to stay in his eyes. he instinctively and breathlessly exhaled her name, 'suha-yah'. she felt the warmth spread through her sore body at the sound of his voice, it resonated deep within her. and to hear him call her name sent a electrifying shiver through her body, she gripped his hoodie—which she pulled closer to her body, and at that action he finally realise that she was wearing his hoodie. to see her in it did something to him, like someone was squeezing his heart.

'are those your friends i heard so much about?' as if she never was in a coma—as if they hadn't spoken for a year. she glanced behind him, catching each of their eyes, noticing that their gaze was flickering back and forth between her and sieun. she was so comforted to see the care and fondness in their eyes when they looked at sieun, that there was people who cared for him and people he was fond of as well. she only ever had one wish for sieun—that he wasn't lonely anymore. and to see that it had come true brought a smile to her face.

seeing her slight teasing comment made him scoff—he blinked his tears out of his eyes, he nodded. and in that moment, he saw the mischief in her eyes, the playfulness that they held whenever she would tease him.

as he stepped closer to her, she could tell he was holding back words, but when he finally spoke, his words made her heart float, 'did i keep you waiting?'— of course he'd say that, he always knew what to say to combat her teasing. she let out a small giggle—oh how sieun missed that sound, his body tensed at it, because sometimes he feared he'd never be able to hear that sound again. and when she smiled, his friends understood why suha was so dear to sieun—she just had this smile that mades you swoon.

baku was mildly stunned to see her, he knew she was pretty but to actually see her in person, the photos didn't do her justice. suho and sieun had shared with the others photos and stories of suha, and suho boasted about her beauty—mostly to prove a point about his handsomeness as well. but more so, they could feel the tension and shift in the air, gotak felt as if they were intruding on something,there was just such a special air around them—they just had something deep going on, as if the air around those two—the boys couldn't graze.

sieun and suha stared at one another, their eyes were holding a private conversation. everyone knew that now that suha had woken, their group could finally relax, with no threat left. suha was safe and the union was gone. there was something unspoken in the air—the three boys were relieved for suho and sieun, and also excited to meet and get to know suha— the new addition to their group. and suha already felt that fluttering feeling of being with sieun again, and amusement of her approaching friendship with the other three boys.

ᝰ.ᐟ during their appearance on showterview, jihoon and saemi shared that hyunwook is not similar to suho at all, he's really like a little brother whos clingy. jihoon said that hyunwook acts like a baby and would cling and try to kiss him, while saemi revealed that hyunwook would follow her around on set like a little chick, that he would whine and pout 'noona' constantly. 'i think i heard —noona, noona, noona— a thousand times on set'

ᝰ.ᐟ hyunwook was basically a baby chick glued to her and jihoon, yelling 'noona!' every five seconds (jihoon's face: 'please… just let me hold my gf's hand in peace')

ᝰ.ᐟ this was also saemi and jihoon's first public appearance together, they acted normal of course but hyunwook would lowkey tease them throughout whc1 promotions—foreshadowing their relationship

ᝰ.ᐟ and during the promotions for whc2, not only did everyone already ship the two—they had revealed their relationship by then, but they started to ship their characters. it is very much implied that sieun and suha like each other—even the director openly said that their are each others first love

ᝰ.ᐟ and during the whc2 press con(?) for netflix, the cast and interviewer and even the audience in attendence wouldn't stop teasing jihoon about saemi.

ᝰ.ᐟ asking him about his fiancee and bringing her up, especially also teasing junyoung who played seungjae, as he also worked with saemi for 'when life gives you tangerines' as 'yeongbum', her character's fiancee that didn't work out because of his mother—he chose being a good son over being a good husband. the interviewer made comments about 'yeongbum-ssi, sieun stole your fiancee!' because saemi's character geummyeong broke up with yeongbum, junyoungs character—and now in real life, saemi and jihoon are engaged.

ᝰ.ᐟ the cast laughed at the sudden reference and scolding of junyoung by the interviewer, the audience snickered at their teasing remark and especially junyoung's reaction, he pretended to solemnly look at jihoon—who was trying not to laugh, and in-character said 'tsk- i should have punched him sooner—wait am i yeongbum or seungjae right now?' he snapped out of character, as he didn't think of which character he was replying as. jihoon and the rest the cast couldn't contain their laughter at his playfulness. saemi added on to the joke saying 'no wonder geum-myeong had to broke up with yeongbum— i mean look at him! he's so mean! gwan-sik appa would never approve of seongjae'

ᝰ.ᐟ and then the interviewer would point out 'ah so would he approve of sieun?' saemi laughed before teasing jihoon by saying 'i'm not sure about sieun, but my dad already approves of jihoon, so perhaps—' and jihoon became extremely flustered at her blatant teasing and he started blushing and covering his face, trying to hold back a smile. while ryeo un nudged him also trying not to laugh

ᝰ.ᐟ and let’s talk about that press con moment, jihoon looking bored until—the whc1 cast walks in, including saemi. his face went from 😑 to 😃 instantly, his eyes locked on her, following her figure as she sat behind him, they briefly greeted each other by squeezing each other's hands before letting go. the interviewer called him out, ' jihoon-ssi, you've been smiling nonstop—could it be~?' which caused saemi to giggle loudly from behind him. and jihoon pretending he wasn’t just caught in 4k being in love, i mean how can you blame him? his fiancee just surpised him by participating in this press con. netizens rewound the clip approximately 500 times for “look of love” edits.

ᝰ.ᐟ saemi actually sent the whole cast of whc2 coffee trucks and a food stall and food trucks during filming. She sent a catering team and truck to treat the staff and actors of whc2, she sent them for three days straight— since the big fight scene took 3 days to film and had the biggest cast.

ᝰ.ᐟ she didn't just send them any food truck, she sent them bbq and meat food trucks to give them energy to film the fight scene, and soup to beat the cold and wet weather—she even appeared on set to support them

ᝰ.ᐟ she helped staff film behind the scenes, she did an on-set interview segment for the netflix team as well—joking around with the cast she filmed little interview snippets with the cast. espeically jihoon, who didn't understand that she was supposed to be the interviewer and was acting like staff during the interview—as he kept calling her 'yeobo' or 'jagi' which she promptly scolded him saying that 'no! jagi i'm the staff interviewing you, pretend you don't know me' and then he would play along

ᝰ.ᐟ there was actually footage of a third perspective of their interview moment—they were holding hands the whole time as she was interviewing him (with the caption 'our cute couple' and 'keeping their hands warm')

ᝰ.ᐟ in other behind the scenes footage, specially the scene where sieun and suha are reunited, as ryeo un, minjae and hyunwook were completely surrounding saemi in the wheelchair and harassing her—singing her songs—out of tune— all three singing different songs, or dancing around her, while minyoung stood there laughing at them and you can hear jihoon yelling 'stop harassing her' and saemi screaming 'yeobo save me!' she was so small and hidden amongst the three of them towering over her form—you could only see her eyes and feet peaking out

ᝰ.ᐟ saemi didn't even talk about her sending the catering buffet. no one knew until during the presscon, the director brought it up. when the interviewer asked 'is there any fun on-set stories anyone like'd to share?' and director yoo said 'oh! i would like to share something about saemi', and gestured to saemi, 'she would never bring this up but—she actually was the one to send the bbq and soup trucks for that fight scene, we filmed for three days and it was really cold too, so i'm sure the cast and i know the staff were very thankful that she sent us warm food and drinks to give us energy'

ᝰ.ᐟ after filming, she treated the entire team of whc2 to eat, she rented out a whole ass restaurant and meeting room to have karaoke and food and party and celebration for finishing filming! she did the same things for season 1 too. the director even joked that he only brought suha back so that saemi would treat them to a meal. yoo subin who plays hyoman and the director's brother, also share this during the press con —'yeah the party! saemi rented out the whole restaruant for the entire staff and cast, she also paid the entire bill' hyunwook exclaimed 'there was a dance battle between jihoon and junyoung too' —which embarassed them greatly, minyoung also brought up—'i think saemi noona also did the same during season one right?' he asked director yoo, which he confirmed. saemi was hiding behind jihoon embarassed by the praise, clutching his jacket as she hid her face on his back—he reached his arm behind him to place a hand on her head, patting her to ease and comfort her embarassment

ᝰ.ᐟ minyoung (plays juntae) and her would conversate in english and the other cast would tease them, like after they spoke in english, ryeo un would go 'oh! wow! hollywood.' in english with a slight korean accent— which saemi would response by lightly shoving him

ᝰ.ᐟ there was also a viral video— oh what you ask? of actor bae nara and lee junyoung twerking at saemi's seoul concert. her concert was right after the show had aired so she invited the entire cast and director, she had a vip box reserved for them. this was the same concert that literally every single idol attended. (since during this time, most idols had more open schedules— think when bruno mars performed, it was basically like that— idols in the audience singing and screaming alongside normal fans, and some idols got a vip section to protect them) idols like seventeen and twice attended

ᝰ.ᐟ since saemi also performed her english tracks, she got a really big stadium to perform, the whc cast were filmed singing along to both her korean and english stages—and during her concert she had segments where she would walk to each section of the stadium to interact with fans, and when she reached the whc section, she was in a fighting stance and pretended to fight with them

ᝰ.ᐟ and during this concert, the reason it lasted 3-4 days was because this was a special anniversary concert— where she performed her entire discography (which includes her western releases, which korean fans enjoy sometimes even more than her korean tracks), and so during the 3-4 days she would have breaks to freshen up the concert with game sections. and during the game segements, she brought the whc cast on screen to help, and took the opportunity to point them out and promote whc

ᝰ.ᐟ jihoon was there for the entire 3-4 day concert btw (we love a supportive fiancee)

ᝰ.ᐟ saemi expressed that during filming for whc2, she was so worried about Jihoon, since he put so much effort into the first season that his health was a huge concern. that during whc final episode— during his crash out, he cried so much that he passed out, and for the hospital scene (where sieun visits a comatosed suha) he cried so many times, til he couldn't stop crying and filming whc is overall physcially exerting let alone mentally. so while he was filming for whc2, saemi was constantly worried he would push himself too much —'I know he wants to give the best performance and he works incredibly hard for it, but I was so riddled with worry that he'd overexert himself again'

synopsis: i added to jihoon's discography, i gave him more songs, albums, collabs, features, etc. i had a really fun time, finding and picking songs for him and also finding photos to cordinate. I will probably make a video compiling his songs with choreography (since i love watching that so)

ᝰ.ᐟ they used to be trainees together in sm, so mark invited him to be a feature on his solo, this gave them an opportunity to reunite ᝰ.ᐟ since they are both 99' liners, mark thought it would be perfect for jihoon to feature on this track ᝰ.ᐟ jihoon appears during first rap verse ᝰ.ᐟ he then rejoins during the chorus, and when mark or jihoon sing '1999, feelin' it once again' or 'Ninety-nine, yeah, ninety-nine'. they'll point or nod to each other ᝰ.ᐟ jihoon stays for the two choruses but leaves during the verses and bridge, he rejoins mark for the final chorus, where all the dancers surround mark in a circle, mark and jihoon are back-to-back in the middle. and lastly he dances next to mark in the outro dance break ᝰ.ᐟ international fans enjoyed this collab alot, saying how they should have whole unit with 99' liners ᝰ.ᐟ and the dance challenge for 1999, with the ballerina move became iconic in korea and also overseas, it was actually jihoon's idea, it started as a joke. jihoon was goofing off in the tiktok, where mark was dancing properly and jihoon was being a ballerina in the back, and it went viral, so it became a dance challenge, which really helped promote the song.

ᯓ MINI ALBUM — double title tracks 'wait on me' n 'i feel good'

ᝰ.ᐟ a common theme for jihoon's releases, espeically his mini albums are that he will have two title tracks that he will perform and also, he will usually also release a 'teaser track'. ᝰ.ᐟ wait on me's choreo was pretty popular, and it reminded fans of 'rover'. the korean public loved 'i feel good' as it was a fun, feel-good and playful song, especially with the 'ark!' vocal part. ᝰ.ᐟ fans liked the variety between the two title tracks, while wait on me was sultry, dance focus, and calmer compared to 'i feel good', 'i feel good' has an chaotic, energetic, and reblious tone that fans and general public enjoyed. both songs did really well as many did the dance challenge for both songs, and jihoon's whole thing with double title tracks is for fans to 'pick a side', and netizen like to do this every comeback. deciding which title track is their favourite ᝰ.ᐟ there was high anticiption for this comeback as his teaser track 'if i say i love you', went viral amongst korean youth, sparking many tiktoks and dance challenges amongst middle schoolers and highschoolers. while the older crowd loved 'to reach you'. ᝰ.ᐟ 'to reach you', was the ost for 'dear author, stop killing me' which he and saemi starred in, and this song has been consistently sitting at the number one spot on melon charts for weeks. (only recently it got beaten by saemi's song 'never ending story' and her song 'drowning' which has been on the number 2 spot since 2023) ᝰ.ᐟ 'to reach you' is currently number 3 on melon, just before saemi's 'drowning' but 'never ending story' is 8, whiplash is 9, 'like novie' is 10. and 'if i say i love you' is 17. ᝰ.ᐟ while western/global fans loved 'rose' and don quixote. fans enjoyed the english version of 'rose', making many edits with it as people loved the lyrics and melody, especically the lines 'If you need a lover— lemme kno-o-o-ow and let me in, I could treat you better —steal you ro-o-o-oses every day—i might not have a fancy car, but i fancy you, so gimme a chance' ᝰ.ᐟ jihoon did go semi-viral for his visuals in 'if i say i love you', since the conept was winter, he went for a soft winter look, which fans were obsessed with, and he gained some attention for that look ᝰ.ᐟ jihoon got some praise for his dancing in wait on me and for his vocals in 'good enough' and 'rose' . 'good enough' and 'rose' were loved by international fans because they were in english, alot of fans used 'good enough' for edits, but mostly, international fans just really enjoyed the song. fans commented on how his emotions could be heard or felt through the song, the yearning and ache of his vocal were well-loved by fans and vocal coaches ᝰ.ᐟ jihoon's favourite tracks are wwait on me and don quixote, and saemi's are good enough, if i say i love you, and i feel good

ᝰ.ᐟ jihoon aka mr rover gained alot of global notice from this song, this is his first full length album, and it didn't disappoint. he had four titles. rover is the first one, then 'bite me' with saemi, their couple/partner went viral as their dating announcement was still fresh in everyone's mind, and this was their song together. ᝰ.ᐟ (theres the picture of them with the apple) that photo was their first couple photoshoot since the dating announcement, saemi's feature and appearance for this song was also a surprise as it wasn't teased or mentioned ᝰ.ᐟ during the showcase for this album, she literally just showed up out of nowhere, no warning or anything ᝰ.ᐟ this album was also jihoon's most mature concept yet, as in bite me and guilty's choreo had more mature choreography. bite me obviously went viral for the couple dance, and guilty which was one of the two teaser tracks, had an iconic key point choreo, with a hand through his shirt to reveal his abdomen. ᝰ.ᐟ the looks for this albums were infamous, jihoon's croptop was a huge talking point, which then he created a trend for male idols to wear crop tops ᝰ.ᐟ 'bite me' when viral not only because of saemi or the choreo, but also their photoshoot and concept photos with jihoon exploring a vampire concept, incorpating intricate stage outfits, and the mv was cinematic to fit with the vampire concept. ᝰ.ᐟ 'guilty' and 'god of music' 'were the teaser tracks, and it got netizens excited and also confused. idols were already doing the dance challenge and covering guilty because of the iconic dance move, but 'god of music' is so drastically different from guilty, and rover and bite me—but thats the charm of it. using 'god of music' vs 'guilty' for the teaser tracks, made fans and netizens excited and also on their toes as the two tracks were complete opposites. ᝰ.ᐟ 'god of music' had the most elaborate mv, filming in multiple locations across the world, it by far had the biggest budget, even though it wasn't a title track, jihoon said he chose to add this track even though it stood out amongst other songs on the album and espeically the titles tracks, was because he really enjoyed performing it, as it was just so playful and he had so much fun performing it with his backup dancers ᝰ.ᐟ jihoon's visuals for this album was also a trending topic, from rover to guilty, he showed off his body and he gained alot of new fans from bite me and god of music. again, his visuals were just unmatched for this album.

okay, so picture this: jihoon and saemi had been secretly dating for years—like, high-school sweethearts-level secret, but the public had no idea until early 2023. but here’s the thing, before their relationship was even announced, they filmed lovely runner in 2022, which didn’t air until 2024. so by the time the drama dropped, fans were already obsessed with them as a couple, and suddenly, watching them play lovestruck (losers in love) time-travelers sunjae and sol felt like unlocking a secret level of their real-life romance. like, hello, the chemistry wasn’t acting , it was like watching documentary footage of two people who’d been in love for a decade

netizens lost their minds, i mean like duh, fork found in the kitchen. comments flooded in like, 'wait, this isn’t just a drama—this is suha and sieun in another universe!' and 'jihoon’s lovesick puppy eyes? yeah, those are real.' people couldn’t handle the whiplash of seeing him go from weak hero’s yeon sieun's idgaf energy (their first public project together in 2022) to lovely runner’s sunjae's loserism. 'how is this the same man??', oh yeh they for sure went viral on twitter (or x, but ew)

but anyways, let’s talk about the timing. after weak hero, their relationship went public in 2023, and then boom—lovely runner becomes a sensation, and suddenly korea is shipping them harder than hyun bin and son yejin. the drama was so perfect for them, jihoon playing an idol (cuz he is), people clocked how similar sol and saemi were, and their real history bleeding into every scene, that fans joked the director must’ve known they were dating. *“did y’all cast them *on purpose??”. they weren't wrong, the director did suspect they at leasted liked e/o. (hehe not the director alr clocking them)

but 2024 wasn’t just their year, it was their era. (how dramatic lol)

at the baeksang arts awards, they both took home the prism popularity award, and jihoon swept the apan star awards winning three awards with best original soundtrack for sudden shower, global star award, and popular star award. lovely runner itself became the second most nominated kdrama at baeksang in 2025, and the best couple award? oh, that was such a viral moment when they walked up together to recieve their award, openly holding hands, and when jihoon thanked everyone for supporting their real-life relationship during their speech, the crowd lost it. clips of him staring at her like she’d hung the moon went viral instantly—“jihoon looks totally whipped” trended for days.

the moment their car door opens, jihoon immediately goes into full green flag mode, one hand gently guiding saemi out while the other protects her head from bumping the car roof. saemi's in some gorgeous flowy dress that could probably trip up a normal person, but jihoon's there like her personal knight in shining armor, adjusting her train like he's been doing it his whole life.

they walk in arms linked, giggling like teenagers because:

every photographer within a 10 mile radius is screaming "KISS!" "POSE TOGETHER!" like they're at a wedding

the entire crowd keeps yelling congratulations on their engagement

they're both turning approximately 50 shades of red every 3 seconds

when they get to the mc for the red carpet interview? the most unserious interview ever. the mc immediately goes "SO... HOW'S MARRIAGE PLANNING GOING?" and jihoon does that thing where he pretends to suddenly find the floor VERY interesting while saemi hides her face in her hands. but then saemi recovers, casually flashing that engagement ring like "oh this old thing?" while thanking everyone for their support. jihoon's just standing there looking at her like she personally invented oxygen, cue the "look of love" tiktok (i know you know what i mean).

tiktok went viral with the behind the scenes videos from the photographer's perspective because you can hear their conversations and shipping them too, or when jihoon keeps doing that thing where he reaches for saemi's hand then remembers they're in public and pretends he was just fixing his cuff, or when saemi keeps leaning into him like they're magnetic and she physically can't help it (netizens frantically tweeting "THEY'RE SO IN LOVE IT HURTS" )

and let's be real - after weak hero's tension and yearning compared to lovely runner's fluff and loserism, to seeing them like this in real life? it's like watching a kdrama play out right infront of your eyes.

and the almost-pda? iconic. at baeksang 2025, they’d reach for each other’s hands, then jerk away last second like they’d been electrocuted. jihoon followed saemi around like a lovesick puppy, their pinkies secretly tangled in crowds, and when she climbed stairs in her gown, his hand was right there steadying her, or his eyes following her, and jihoon has a thing where he always kinda looks bored at award shows, but oh no, as soon as his fiancee appears, he lights up, to the point you could basically see his bunny ear perk up.

reminder, this was the same saemi who’d won baeksang’s best actress and the blue dragon grand prize in 2023 for the glory—the same saemi who’d won an oscar for her hollywood debut in la la land (plus three more for her original songs, no big deal). she’d been voted 'actor whose work other actors look forward to most' by legends like park bogum (who did get to work with her), park boyoung, gong yoo, and even lee byunghun. but here she was, blushing while her fiancé fumbled not to touch her waist on live national tv and in front of all her seniors. jihoon also performed 'sudden shower' since it did win best ost, and the camera man kept panning back to saemi who would pretend to yell 'sunjae'.

during saemi's speech (while holding hands with jihoon and him staring at her like she hung the damn sun), she joked that 'congraduations sunjae and sol for getting married in every universe!' twitter comments were like 'jihoon really said method acting’ or 'omg we were so blind' or 'wait which timeline are we in now then?' or 'remember when we thought their weak hero chemistry was acting? FOOLS. WE WERE FOOLS.'

but let’s not forget the real question: 'yah, after weak hero and lovely runner, how can saemi do anymore romance dramas with other actors? i can only imagine saemi with jihoon' like, seriously, after watching jihoon and saemi in weak hero (the yearning) and lovely runner (the losers in love energy), how could anyone watch them with someone else? who’s supposed to buy them with other co-stars??

not to mention all their seniors in the audience, grinning, eyes flickering between the two, eyesbrows raised knowingly. or older actors, looking at the two with such fondness. alot of actors and idols publicly congradulated them, some actors were even caught mouthing 'cute' when they two were on the main screen. and when all the actors were getting a group photo, park bogum phyiscally pushed them together and to the front.

For the 2024 baeksang arts awards, both jihoon and saemi won the prism popularity award. While as for the apan star awards, jihoon won; the best original soundtrack for 'sudden shower', global star award, and the popular star award. And lastly they recieved the best couple award together. Lovely runner was the second most nominated kdrama in the baeksang arts awards in 2025.

jihoon and saemi contributed songs to the original soundtrack, jihoon's tracks were ryu sunjae's songs as eclipse, while saemi contributed 'summer rain' (orig; gfriend). she wrote the song specifically for this kdrama, as the lyrics reference and match the storyline. saemi also recorded an ost version of 'rough' as she felt the song perfectly captured the kdrama.

ᯓ her mother is from jeju so she was mostly raised in jeju, her mother worked on her tangerine farm. her father, originally from seoul, decided to follow his wife to her hometown to raise saemi.

Please read! this is a sneak peak of my Jihoon x Actress/Idol oc pairing, I have a lot written for that new story, this is just a fun alternative universe for my oc/au for that fictional idol oc. Sneak peak of her is that she is kyungsoo’s cousin and also in kq and is close with ateez. But there is a lot of plot lines i have lined up for her because she is an actress oc so I have one original story for fictional kdrama she and jihoon starred in. I wrote this in one sitting, so please forgive any cringy or weird wording ahaha

I wrote this in a blur so idk

The promise had been etched into their lives before either could speak their own names—before the first cries of infancy had faded into memory. From the moment Jihoon drew breath, the royal decree had already bound him to the daughter of the Do family, a girl born mere months later beneath the same gilded stars that watched over the palace. Two children, two legacies, one fate. The Park lineage, a dynasty of warriors whose blood ran thick with the salt of battlefields and the iron of unsheathed swords. The Do family, healers whose hands carried the scent of medicinal herbs and the quiet power to stitch life back into broken bodies. And between them, the weight of a kingdom’s gratitude—and a king’s fond whim.

As children, they had been inseparable. Marriage, to their young minds, was little more than a grand adventure—a lifetime of shared secrets and stolen sweets, of hiding beneath the same embroidered blankets during summer storms. Jihoon, bold even then, would tug her along the palace corridors with a grin, declaring her his "future wife" to anyone who dared tease them. Saemi, bright-eyed and fearless, would only laugh and squeeze his hand tighter. They were innocently wrapped in silk, too young to understand the shadows that would one day stretch between them.

The Park Family is the military family, generations of warriors, generals, war strategists, war heros, war healers, and Jihoon was no different, now the military Commander-in Chief while his father was the general of the royal army.

While Saemi was from the royal apothecary family, known for healers, physicians, apothecaries, alchemists, forever tied to the royal family. The noble family Do served the royal family since the beginning of time, their loyalty never once faltered, witnessing the birth of every king.

It was natural that the three families were bound to grow close, the current king and queen, King HongJoong and Queen Seonghwa, also betrothed at birth, grew alongside the noble Park Family, General Jongho and his husband Yeosang, who was a military strategist, and the Do family as well, San the healer and his husband Wooyoung the Apothecary.

The 6 of them were remembered as the rowdiest teenagers in the palace, always scheming and causing trouble, now all adults, in seperate places, with their own families but when together, they carry the lightness of their teen years, almost as if all those years facing wars and challenges never affected them.

However, their youth did not last long. They were seperated. Jihoon was called out to assist his parents in defending their kingdom. Off to war, young but determined. Determined to come home. Come home to the girl who he still held dear to his heart, even though years had passed, they both grew into adults now.

He couldn't deny how nervous he was to return after they had won the war. He was different, older but mature, he had seen such pain and suffering, but also so much hope and joy. He doubted himself, worried that he would scare her.

Once the playful innocent boy who said goodbye with a pat on her head, a kiss on the cheek and a hug, now returned a hardened man who still held softness of the memory of his first and only love. His soldiers, who were his dear friends, teased him endlessly about her, always pretending to speak loudly of rumors of her beauty, making sure he'd hear. Rumors of her kindness, her cheerfulness, how she still maintained her fierceness and playfulness. It eased him to know she was still the same energetic girl he loved, but now more elegant and refined, also matured like fine wine. Although he would clench his jaw when he overheard other soldiers fawn over her, especially her beauty.

Over the years, Saemi had grown quite the reputation, being named by the king and queen the country's beauty. But she was also known amongst the military, for sending them their medical supplies, her name floated around their base like the scent of spring, a sign of a new beginning and hope for the kingdom. He couldn't help but grow anxious as they were traveling back into the Royal palace, on his horse who was happily trudging along, unaware of his rider's inner turmoil.

He was scared to death, more than he ever was approaching battle, or when a sword was at his neck, because during those times, he was driven by determination to survive, to come home alive, to his fiancee. But now, he's alive and with the palace in view, he was filled with fear, fear that she wouldn't love him, at least not the same way as he did. Because he loves her.

Even after all these years, even though they have exchanged letters here and there, but only briefly as those letters were mostly discussing the war or updates from the royal family.

They weren't allowed the luxury to be teenagers sending messages back and forth, giggling about what the other said. What if she found someone else? What if she hadn't waited like he did? What if she hated him for leaving her? What if after she sees him now, she'll call off the engagement? his hands only clenched on this reins tighter, til his father noticed. His father questioned him, faking that he didn't know what, or who was causing his beloved son all this turmoil.

Everyone knew, everyone sensed the tension Jihoon had for the previous days leading up to their return. And everyone knew why, he was always extra engaged in conversations or standing closer when people had brought up Saemi.

How his entire body language, usually relaxed, would perk up at the mention of her family or her name. His father, reassured him, riding alongside him, comforting his only son, "from what I heard, she's be there at the palace too" his father said trying to calm his son unease, "Well, I'm sure the whole staff would be there to welcome us back...", Jihoon doubted, "No, It will only be the royal family, but I've been told she requested to be there as well."

Hearing that brought him hope. Maybe she did miss him, did she also yearn for him, like he did for her, did she have sleepless nights wondering what he was doing? Did she look at other couples and wish the same? did she reject other men's offers or advances like he did when noble women would approach him? Did she have struggles or cried and wish he was there to comfort her like he used to when they were children? He could only wonder.

But what he couldn’t have known was Saemi was standing beside the King and queen, playing with a hairpin she had taken out of her hair to fiddle with, unsure what to say or do while she wrestled with her overflowing thoughts that threatened to spill.

She too had her anxieties, what if he didn't love her anymore? What if he realised that his love back when they were children was just a foolish childs' understanding of love? what if he sacrificed too much for the war, he couldn't even think of her, or marriage, what if he tells her he isn't capable of love anymore? what if he met someone and fell for them? forgetting all about her? what if he was only agreeing to this union out of duty, sure she knew that was common but they were best friends, and did love each other.

She knew she had changed, she matured, she held a sense of elegance and gentleness to her, as she's been told, she lit up a room with her warmth and genuineness. Would that be enough? Would she be enough for someone like him? She too, hears the rumors, the reputation he held. His ruthlessness in battle. unafraid, unnerving, confident, as if violence was his true nature.

People fear him, but more so they admired and respected him, having accomplished so much before he even reached adulthood. Some held pity, he was never supposed to be leading a war so soon, he was still a child, yet they gave him an arrow and sword and threw him into the battlefield before he even could drink wine.

His parents and the royal family held guilt for this. But he was their only heir and son, he was the only one who could assist when they were treated as a country. They had little choice. So they sent him off. Not that he minded actually, he knew the military was second nature to him, it runs in his blood. And he would have gladly stayed defending their kingdom from afar, but there was one thing that kept him tied to the palace. Saemi.

Saemi, even though she was standing near the king and queen, who were quietly discussing the park families returns, was glancing over at the gentle young woman, whose gaze held on the hair pin she had taken out, caressing with such care. They knew what fears she had. Was the person who was returning still wanting her? She prayed at the very least he wasn’t dismissive of her. But she knew he wasn’t that type of person, but a small part of her fear was that he became someone she wouldn’t recognize.

But through those few letters, he seemed polite and mature to her, but in her heart she had hoped he would express or discuss their relationship in those letters. She assumed he avoided those topics because he held no affection for her. Even if people around her would report that he still held affection for her, she wouldn’t believe it. Her own self-doubt killed any childish thinking she had, she was an adult now, she had to be logical. How could he love someone he hadn’t seen in years? Barely even heard from? How can he love or even care for a memory? She knows she does, but how can she be so naive to think he would be as hopeless as her?

While Jihoon’s father, Jongho was offering comforting words to his son, the King and Queen were also trying to do so as well, to the girl standing beside them, whom they also saw as their own child. The King and Queen saw both of them as their own kids. When they were children, Jihoon and Saemi brought them such joy, an escape from their duty, but that's how the Park and Do always were to the royal family. Three families forever intertwined.

“Saemi-ah, don’t you worry your little head off now dear, General Park assured us that Jihoon still remembers you and does care for you” The queen said softly pushing the strands of hair out of her face, while the king looked at them both with such fondness in his eyes. The king and queen wanted to have a daughter, but the gods blessed them with one son, Yunho, who was away with his husband Mingi on a diplomatic trip. Leaving them with only their goddaughter to coo over.

Saemi was everything they wanted in a child, so when Saemi’s parents were off on their own missions and duties as healers to deal with sickness and issues in the small towns of their kingdom. They were faithful to the people of their country, but they hesitated to leave their only daughter, as Saemi’s older brother Mingi had followed his husband Yunho the crown prince on a diplomatic trip.

But they entrusted her to the royal family, her parents grew up with the king and queen. King Hongjoong lowered his guard, “Dear, there is nothing to fear, Jihoon has matured but so have you, I’m sure you too will be good friends.” Saemi pouted, “I don’t want to be just friends. And he cares for the memory of me, not the current me. What if-” she lowered her voice, like a child getting scolded “- the person I am now, isn’t enough for him?”.

The king and queen glanced at each other with worry and sadness, though they were sure in their wisdom that she was worrying unnecessarily, it was hard to see their beloved granddaughter doubt herself. She is always sure of herself, she knows who she is and what she is capable of, she is the royal apothecary and physician for a reason.

“Oh, Saemi, you mustn't doubt Jihoon. I’m sure he knows you’re enough for him, if not you’re more than enough darling” Queen Seonghwa turned to face her fully, pushing the hair that fell over her shoulders down to her waist, over her shoulder so that it flowed behind her. It was pinned up into a bun at the top but the rest flowed down her back. It was decorated with the pin that was in Saemi’s hand, a gift from the king and queen.

A symbol of their engagement. They were both giving an item, matching to the other. Saemi was given a hair pin that matched Jihoon's Norigae which is an ornament with a tassel which he hung on his Hanbok. Saemi was given her Garakji, two rings that married women wore, to symbolize the harmony between husband and wife, and one would be taken off if the husband had passed. So when they had to part, Saemi gave Jihoon one of the rings, made of jade, saying that he has to return home to return that ring, so she could wear both and be a married woman, be his wife. She wore the single ring, the ring that was patiently waiting for its pair.

Although her fears had been eased by their assurance, she couldn’t help but still fiddle with the hair pin quietly. Usually this was improper, but as they were only in the privacy of the palace, just the three of them, awaiting the return of the park family, which included Jihoon’s parents, and himself. Yeosang had gone ahead of his father Jongho and him, as he had to assist with the injured soldiers first before rejoining them.

The three turned to the faint and distant sound of the three sets of hooves clattering against the polished palace stone ground, the three waited with baited breath as the sound halted behind the King and Queen’s private pavilon’s gates. And when they opened the King and queen grins widden at seeing them their friends return home safe.

But Saemi couldn’t look up at them, she wanted to be polite but also, she was nervous to meet his gaze, to finally see what he looked like after all these years, did he really bulked up like the rumors she overheard in the market? Was he as handsome as she heard the court ladies gossiped? The fiddling of the hair pin only paused, as her grip tightened around it.

The journey back, while Saemi had begun to fidget in anxiety, Jihoon’s confidence grew, he was struck by an epiphany. How? The Kingdom’s people, who they had to pass by as they entered the palace.

The people had celebrated them as they passed through the city. Showering them with praise, Jihoon would pretend not to hear the women gush over his looks, especially his eyes. His eyes were widely known for their beauty and how much emotion they held, he had very intense eyes. They could be relaxed and gentle one second then murderous and violent the next, or even relaxed as he was murdering enemies. One cant help but be enchanted by those big and full eyes, ones that glistened in joy and pride as he smiled, waved and bowed to the people.

People at first were intimated but seeing his gentle eyes and kind smile, they knew he wasn’t only the ruthless commander, but also a young man who loved and protected his people. And his handsome looks helped too. Although many women gushed and giggled to each other about his body and looks, they knew that he was betrothed to the most beautiful woman the kingdom had to offer.

His father Yeosang would giggle as he glanced back at Jihoon who was blushing when they overheard people commenting on how they would have such beautiful children thanks to both their enchanting visuals. “You two should give us a daughter, one that takes after Saemi” His father teased, but he was serious. His father could only laugh loudly at the threat. “Father—Please, we aren’t even married yet.. I haven’t even seen her in years”

As the Park family approach the three silhouette of people dressed in fancy hanboks the King dressed in gold and a deep red, the Queen in black and gold, fierce, and of course, the Pastel blue hanbok standing next to the queen seemed to soften both the strong colors of the king and queens hanboks.

Jihoon's breath was caught in his throat, lips slightly parted, gulping as he finally laid his eyes on the woman who had been haunting him every waking day. His grip on his reins relaxed, as if he could finally breathe now that he was definitely home safe with her. His brain almost had to reboot as he was taking in the girl in the distance, gaze turned downward, a part of him was thankful that she wasn’t staring at him, that would have been too intense for him to handle, but also he wished to see her eyes.

Those hazel eyes looking back at him. He was always enchanted by her colors, how they glowed when in the sun, a soft honey brown. Though many were always bewitched by his eyes, those that seem to hold the whole world in them, his eyes were always fleeting, scanning, searching for hers. And now, they found her, but they haven’t found those hazel eyes, ones that seemed more engrossed in the hair pin she was holding.

His eyes scanned her, like this view would escape from his grasp any moment, her pastel blue and white hanbok, flowy, gave her an angelic aura to her, her hair now long, down to her waist, as she was unmarried, her hair had to be let down. Which gave him a selfish thought, he loved her long hair, especially the way it slightly fluttered with the wind, but if she had her hair pinned up, it would solidify that she was married, she was finally his again.

But then another thought snuck its way into the forefront of his brain, that he would be able to see her with her hair down when they were in the privacy of their own room. He flushed at the thought of their married life, living in the same room, waking and falling asleep in the same bed. He quickly regained his composure as they were approaching the king and queen.

When the three got off their horses, and bowed to the king and queen, after a moment of silence, King Hongjoong rushed to hug his friend, General Jongho. And Queen Seonghwa to his father, Strategist Yeosang, old friends, who had seen each other fall in love, grow old, and raise their own children, held so much history amongst them, Saemi and Jihoon although standing in front of each other, smiled fondly at those four adults, who seemed to oddly turned back into teenagers, excited to see their friends.

While the adults were wrapped up in their own childish squealing and hugging, Saemi let out a giggle seeing Queen Seonghwa holding onto strategist Yeosang as they jumped around in a circle, yelling how much they missed each other, well it was mostly Queen Seonghwa who was louder, so different from the stoic and stern men they usually were. King Hongjoong and general Jongho hugged and swayed like teenage girls who found out they were in the same class.

But her giggle caught Jihoon’s attention, who was previously also watching their reunion, silently judging these adults who were important members of the kingdom, somehow reverting back to their teenage self. His eyes, once held with amusement, softened and appeared entranced by the girl in front of him.

She had grown, but still shorter than him by a little, just enough for him to slightly bend down to meet her lips- he was already thinking of kissing her? She is his fiancee, why should he be ashamed of such a thought. Feeling such an intense feeling radiating near her, she looked over to meet his eyes. She stilled. As if she had awakened a hungry tiger. He looked like he would pounce on her any second now, she could tell he was holding back, restraining himself from hugging her, or perhaps something bolder? But to hide her giddiness at the thought of him kissing her, she blinked confused at his prolonged stare, expecting him to say something.

During his intense silence, staring deep into her eyes, as if he was trying to decode her, she was finally taking in him like he was before. She realised how much he grew, although he wasn’t extremely tall where it would hurt her neck to crane it up, she was pleased she was at a perfect height difference for her to glance up and angle her chin a bit to meet his gaze. His eyes tired but soft as he studied her. Her soft smile directed at him finally. But she was silently gushing over his face and body, he had matured over the years.

He was lean but strong and firm. His arms at his side gripping his hanbok, as if restraining from grabbing her face and pressing his slightly chapped lips onto her plump and soft lips. Because his eyes did flicker to them. His hair tied up in a knot, as men in the Joseon dynasty didn’t let their hair down, covered by a hat and the hats ribbons that tied around his chin, framed his sculpted face.

His sleek black hanbok which also had black embroidery, quietly hiding itself until one looked closer did the pattern reveal itself. His status was quiet, but once someone looked a bit closer would they notice the details. And Saemi did. His own sword sat on his hip, accessible and quick to draw for him, a reminder of what he was truly capable of.

“Are you two done gazing into each other's eyes?” The king’s voice cut through, breaking the little world they had, where they were just staring at each other, but from an outside perspective, they held such a heavy and deep aura around them, something people wouldn’t dare interrupt or even could interrupt. But of course the king could.

Saemi rolled her eyes, looked at him with a look that said “really?”, almost like a scolding parent, while Jihoon appeared unbothered as his eyes lingered on her a little before turning to the king and queen with an amused smile. “Are you four done acting like teenagers yet?” The king’s deep laughter rang around the open court of their private wing, while the queen scoffed at his quick response, while his parents rolled their eyes at their son’s playfulness. “Ah, I’m glad you haven’t lost your quick and sharp tongue” the queen jokingly narrowed his eyes at him, but his smile still reached his glaring eyes.

Saemi was holding back her laughter but pressing her lips together, a habit she had as a child, one she hadn’t outgrown, one Jihoon noticed and was fond of. “Omo— you’ve grown so beautiful, Saemi” Yeosang gaze flickering all over Saemi’s now shy face as she tried to deny the compliment. “Oh don’t be so humble, you know she is named the three kingdom’s beauty for a reason” the King bragged as if it was him who was named the beauty of the kingdom,

“We know, do you know how much he bragged that she is his soon-to-be daughter-in-law to the other kingdoms generals? Even, I was embarrassed for Jihoon!” Yeosang scoldingly said, this information caused the king to bend over laughing as he clung onto general Jongho’s shoulders, almost falling over laughing so much he was struggling to breathe, Queen Seonghwa burst out laughing, disregarding his usual calm composure.

General Jongho only stood still with a deadpan face, while his friends and husband kept laughing at him. Jihoon and Saemi could only blush and look at each other with the same amused but tired expression, Saemi looked at him with raised eyebrows, to silently ask if it was true . Jihoon rolled his eyes to signal he was so tired of his parents’ antics but still held a grin,“Oh my god, my stomach hurts… as I wish the others were here right now”

As the laughter died down, the king, somewhat of the leader of their friend group, bittersweetly remembered the others, the others being Saemi’s parents, the energetic ones of the group, San and Wooyoung. They were still on their way back to the kingdom, as it took weeks to travel from a rural part of the kingdom.

Saemi’s parents were like her, or she was like them, her fathers were always the chaotic and energetic ones, always flirting or bantering while their friends could only roll their eyes at them, because they all knew, in private those two were the most in-love couple.

They were the last couple in the group to get together as they were too stubborn to confess. Only confessing when King Hongjoong and general Jongho forced them into a room and locked the doors. Slowly the friend group, missing two members but still able to fall back into a comfortableness, fell into a quiet and joy-filled discussion.

They didn’t even notice that Jihoon and Saemi had disappeared. While Saemi was content listening to their conversation, reminiscing about her parents’ love story, and the group's mission for them to get married. Jihoon had grown impatient, he wanted to talk to her without them teasing and hovering.

So when he slipped his hands into her like they did back then, it came naturally but this time it sent a spark through both their bodies at each other’s touch. Saemi let out a small gasp before looking up at him, to see him already looking at her with the same mischievous look in those eyes he had as a child, the ones who would sneak her a candy when she was studying. But as fast as the shock of his touch came, so did that comfortable warmth come too.

One touch was all it took for them to fall back into a rhythm again. She tilted her head in question, and he answered with a jerk of his head to the garden, she glanced over to the garden, the one she frequented to collect herbs and plants for her concoctions and the one she would sneak into at night to sit by their pond, to watch the moon and wonder if he was awake and staring at the moon too.

Her smile grew as her eyes returned the mischief as she nodded and held a finger to her lips to signal him to secretly sneak away. He glanced back at the four adults who weren’t even facing them anymore, too wrapped up in what seemed to be his father trying to challenge the king to a round of drinking, Jihoon chuckled before quietly pulling her away from them.

The two slowly backed away from the four, and when they were out of sight, they paced up their steps as they kept looking back to see if they noticed their absences, they hadn’t.

They were experiencing the cliche sneaking away from parents, safe to say the thrill of it was bringing back the fleeting feelings of their youth. As they slowed down, finally entering the enormous garden, which was almost a forest, still hand in hand, leaning into each other as they laughed at their escape.

As they calmed down they were leisurely walking around, listening to the birds chirp and the splashes of the flowing water of the pond beside them that had a small man-made waterfall for the fishes to migrate for their eggs. Their intertwined hands swayed slightly between them, as they admired the nature around them, the air beginning to cool as a wave of slow clouds covered the sun, eclipsing the garden in shade.

Saemi began taking notice of his hands, they were gentle as they held hers, but if she focused on it enough she could feel the calluses on the warmth of his palm against hers, and the firm pressure of his blistered fingers. Skin there hardened due to years of trusting his sword, years of the pain and suffering he experienced was evident, or the pain and suffering he witnessed, or even caused by said hands. It was hard to grapple her mind around the fact that the same hand engulfing hers with warmth and gentle firmness, could have caused death and fear in others, but she is not naive to feel guilt for those enemies. She would have done the same if the safety of her people or family were at stake.

She was reasonable, nor did it scare her, she respected him. To be so determined and faithful to his kingdom, and fulfill his duty before he even reached adulthood, and not complaining once, especially to have his own wedding postponed to enlist out and lead an army, risking his own future. When any other boy would have complained, demanded praise and respect, or even quit, protested to live a more privileged and calm life back in the palace, especially the men she’s met, flirted with, could never even hold a candle to the strength Jihoon has.

“I’m proud of you, you know?” she blurted out, along with her inner monologue, Jihoon, who obviously didn’t know the context of that comment, only gaped at her stunned. He’s heard it many times, sure, but to hear it not only by her, but that be the first thing she said after years, the first thing he heard with her voice? His heart could have stopped beating and he would justify it. Oh how many times he imagined how her voice would sound, it was hard to imagine her sounding like a little girl when he thought of the memories. But to finally hear her soft voice, one that sounds like the cool breeze you feel when you close your eyes in the night air. It was everything he imagined it would be.

And now that he was standing so close to her, he got a whiff of her scent, the breeze that passed through them, picked up her scent and brought it to Jihoon. How the scent of her hanbok was of white tea and lilies, with a scent of the herbs she worked with at the sleeves, while her hair smelled like the oranges and citrus ‘she has in her work station. He assumed she still kept fresh citrus in her rooms to keep her awake when working.

He let out a small breath of delight that she hadn’t really changed, she was still a bright but calm girl he fell in love with. As he allowed her to ramble on and on about what was happening, like her parents, the king and queen, the palace staff, her fellow physicians, her work as an apothecary, he asked her about just her, he wanted to hear about her and what she does in her free time. She was at first flustered when she heard his voice for the first time, it was low and resonated deep in her chest, but it was so faint and gentle that it even surprised him. He never sounded like that to anyone. Well, he never had a softness for someone but her.

They had already done one lap of the garden when Jihoon was sharing now, Saemi was pouting and whining about how she wanted to know about what he was doing too. He said he was hesitant as “they aren’t as cheerful as yours” she quickly dismissed that and urged him to “just tell me anything and everything” he could only chuckle at her eagerness. And although the conversation got a little sad and dark, the mood was shifted when Saemi gasped and froze eyes widened.

Always on high alert, Jihoon abruptly turned to her frantically asking what's wrong. When she made eye contact with his panicked ones, she barroled out laughing, saying in between gasps and giggles that she was just pranking him to see his reaction, not thinking he was that paranoid. His shoulders relaxed as his eyes narrowed at her, his face deadpanning, but his eyes showed he was amused without a smile. Her laughter only grew at his exasperated expression, head leaning back, almost falling back as she slapped his chest.

His eyes glanced down to her hands gently hitting his hard chest, then back up to her closed eyes that were almost tearing up from laughing. She was leaning on him slightly so as to not fall over, instinctively he wrapped his warm around her waist, a firm pressure against her. And with a smirk as he looked at her up and down, too distracted by laughing to notice he had grabbed the hand that was hitting him, and placed it flat against his chest where his heart was beating loud and clear.

The sensation of his beating heart brought her back to reality and calmed her enough to realise the position he had put them in. Her flushed against him, their hips meeting, his face hovering above hers, his gaze low on her face scanning every feature, his hand still wrapped around hers to keep it against his chest and he gently stroked his thumb against the back of her wrist, and a small squeeze on her waist as he made eye contact with her and then lingering his gaze on her lips. Her body had relaxed against his, slowly realising in her head, how much she really did fall for him.

His breath hitched when she noticed his gaze lingering on her lips, he licked his lips and gulped before looking back up at her, searching for permission. And when he saw her eyes transition from surprise to a glazed over look, he agonizing leaned down to capture her lips.

She responded with leaning her clutching his hanbok in her hands, and let out a small squeak, which only made him respond with pulling her impossibly closer and groaning against her before tilting his head to devour her lips, cause he might as well be a starved man. When her knees felt weak and threatened to buckle, the arm around her waist grew strong and gripped her while guiding backwards til her back met a tree, his hand reaching to protect her head from hitting the tree.

They were clinging onto each other, pushing against each other to somehow eliminate all space between them, his hands navigating their way down to her nape, angling her face slightly. When he pushed himself between her legs she let out a small gasp, both hands tightening on his shoulders, she could feel him smirk against her swollen lips, when he used his tongue to explore her mouth, which evoked a whiney moan from her.

Her sound shot through his entire body, his grip on her waist and face tighten, enough to show her how much she was affecting him, but not enough to hurt her. They continued to make up for all those years without interacting without any professional pressures and burdens, they could finally indulge in their own selfish desires.

Until Jihoon realised that if he didn’t stop now, he wouldn’t be able to restrain himself from taking her right then and there, before their wedding and in the king and queen’s garden. He knew he was already hard under all his layers, and his hands had traveled under her hanbok to feel her skin, she could feel his hands trail down, she wanted him to hurry up before- “Where did they go?”. Jihoon’s hands froze, they pulled apart breathing heavily staring at each other.

He retracted his hand, instead he leaned his forehead against her, sighing in almost disappointment or restraint. She only giggled at his frustration. He glared at her amusement at his pain, he pinched her which is when she let out a yelp, which he took as an opportunity to seal her lips again to silence her. He pulled away after a bit, but only to continue pecking her with kisses after, til she covered his lips with her hands, “we should go, before they find us like this”.

With his mouth still covered, he slowly shook his head, putting one arm against the tree and the other still around her waist. Saemi rolled her eyes before pouting, looking up at him with wide eyes, “Jihoon-ah, please? You can always come to my room at night, they put your room next to mine” His eyes lit up almost cartoonishly, not only at the fact his room was next to hers, she allowed him to come visit her room at night, but also at the fact she called him Jihoon-ah for the first time in years. He nodded eagerly, which caused her to laugh and he stepped back to release her, but still held her hand.

As Saemi was teasing him about his reaction, his other hand reach forward to fix her hair which was a little frizzy, once he smoothed her hair out, he suddenly remembered the hair pin that she held in her hands earlier, she dropped it when he pushed her against the tree, he could only vaguely remember hearing the metal echo against the ground.

He looked around before bending down to pick it up, he blew and wiped the dirt off, then he pushed it back into her hair. Leaning back slightly to get a better look of his work. They quickly fell back into a light conversation, “I see you still have the ornament Queen Seonghwa gave you?” She traced the embroidery of the pendant that hung around his waist, “Of course, it’s the reason I stayed alive” She glanced up to meet his longing gaze, “a reminder to come home”.

“So this is where they went” Yeosang said in relief as they four of them stood from a far “I should include this in my letter to Wooyoung and San” Queen Seonghwa said to King Hongjoong “Oo! You should draw a little illustration of this too!” the king gasped in excited at the thought of telling them “They should write this day in the records” Jongho said with a dead serious voice and face, til his stoic face faltered when he notice that Jihoon’s hanbok was slightly disheveled, both his lips still swollen, and Saemi’s sash loosened, a knowing grin fell on his face.

“They kissed.” The four of them went rigid, staring at him as if he just said the most absurd thing., but then almost comically three heads whipped towards the couple walking in the distance, mouth agape. A silence fell before the storm erupted. As they stuck their head forward to get a closer look, their eyes peeled at things slightly out of place, and when they put all the pieces together, just like Jongho did, did they start gasping, almost falling backwards or out-right screaming.

Seonghwa could only whisper, gaze still set on Jihoon’s hanbok slightly wrinkled from Saemi’s grip on them, “Oh my god… they did… I thought they would only kiss after the wedding”, before Hongjoong slowly raised a shaking accusatory finger at the two in the distance still conversing blissfully unaware of the chaos they just put the king and queen and his parents through, “I think they did more than kiss…?”

“The hairpin looks beautiful on you, it was too heavy for you back then wasn’t it?” They continue to reminisce as they decide to make another lap around the pond, completely so wrapped up in each other, understandably, that they didn’t even notice the frenzy four people were going through in the distance.

“Umn.. Jihoon…” Saemi started avoiding his gaze, which made him uneasy “Why, what's wrong?” he slowed to a stop, causing her to stop fully too as they were still holding hands “I just- um wanted to ask…. about the… you know…” He didn’t know. So he stepped in front of her to fully face her again, “Saemi?” She still wouldn’t say it, eyes flickering on him and then around them, he was getting anxious, “Darling please just tell me, you’re scaring me here” She finally locked eyes with him, mostly shocked at the nickname. “Darling?”

She questioned tauntingly til he cut her off sharply “Don’t change the subject Do Saemi” she immediately pouted at the use of her full name, her expression grew upset, his gaze softened from the serious one he held earlier, realising his mistake, forgetting she had always disliked him calling her by her full name.

“Sorry, I forgot you don’t- I’m sorry darling…” he apologized quickly, kissing her quickly on the temple, hand on her hips, other stroking her hand, “Can you please just tell me what’s wrong?” she sighed, “It’s not a big deal, it's just- did you lose, you know? The ring?” she said as she started to fiddle with the ring that was already on her finger.

Jihoon quickly got over his brief surprise before he looked down at her hand with the ring on it, then backed up at her, before he started softly laughing. “Don’t make fun of me”, she slapped his arm at his teasing, his laughter died down quickly at her whines, “I’m sorry, I thought something bad happened…Of course I still have it” He calmed her down by pulling out a pouch that his pendant was tied to, she didn’t even notice the imprint of the object inside yet, he withdrew one hand from hers and opened the pouch and pulled out the other ring of the pair.

“See? I always keep it next to my ornament, so I don’t lose it in case of an ambush”. He handed it to her, as she glanced between it and the one already on her finger, and as his eyes followed her gaze, he knew what she was thinking of, “Soon, I can put this on with the other ring, and they won’t be separated ever again” He softly whispered as his hand held the hand with the ring on it, she chuckled as he leaned into to kiss her forehead as his thumb continued to stroke the ring that sat comfortably on her finger.

The sun had set, the four adults had long left, to give the two privacy, privacy to embrace each other after all those years of longing, yearning, years of waiting, years of only glimpses of each other through overheard conversations, name mentions, and subconsciously searching for each other in crowd and in every person they met.

But now, finally able to touch, to kiss, to hear, to say, will they never have to search or long for each other ever again. As there is no world where they will be separated again, even if the gods try as they might, they can’t undo what’s written in the fabric of time.
