Don’t quote me on this but I think it’s called iris atrophy? My old cat Anders had the same thing going on and I had asked doc about it and he said it was just pretty normal aging changes. Anders didn’t have any glaucoma or anything so there was no eye treatment needed. And he had such a laundry list of issues I didn’t ever bother to ask any other questions like “what is this called”

I am grateful for everything in my collection and love every individual object

I am happy to see that other people share a similar passion for my interest

I feel proud for others when they get lucky or otherwise obtain something I also cherish

Most of the fun in collecting is sharing in joy with others and forming community

I am fine to pass up a "good deal" because it means someone else can have that joy. I've had plenty of luck and am happy to share.

There is plenty of time to get everything I still want. I don't need it all right away.

I don't need an object in my possession in order to admire it. I can make art and share excitement with others.

It's important to save spending money up so that when the opportunity arises, I can buy something expensive that I've been wanting for a long time.

I love spending time with the objects I already have and photographing, arranging, or cleaning them, as well as taking them places with me.

Bob Budiansky has said that he named Ratchet after the less-friendly medic Nurse Ratched from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
