There is a phenomenon happening on Tumblr right now which may be a product of the Twitter exodus or maybe its just modern fandom mentality vehemently rejecting the old, but you guys have GOT to stop being so damn MEAN about fandom.
There are posts circulating on Tumblr right now hating on so many aspects of fandom. Yeah we all know the incorrect quotes format can be cringe and most of the time its the same quotes used for every fandom ever reducing the characters to stereotypes. Yes we know most fandoms scramble to ship the two basic white guys over all the other characters. Yes we know your blorbo probably Does Not Fucking Say That. Yes we know A/B/O is weird AF (especially now its breached containment and found its way into mainstream hetero erotica). Yes we know SuperWhoLock was ridiculous and attempts to make modern shows into a new SuperWhoLock have got old fast.
But do you have to constantly drag these things all the time? Why is it suddenly cool and popular to ridicule and criticise and hate on peoples fun?
Let people be cringe
Let people play in the fandom sandbox
Let people have their fun
Not everything has to be an intellectual critique and it doesn't make you a better person to constantly shit on fandom ON THE FANDOM WEBSITE
Fandoms can be problematic, toxic, and infuriating at times. But all the negativity isn't making things better. Yeah okay some aspects of fandom can be annoying, but must we have so many call out posts go viral on here specifically for hating on parts of fandom culture? Yet people wonder why fandom creators are quitting and there isnt as much art and interaction on here as there used to be.
If you see another negative post shitting on aspects of fandom cross your dash, maybe think before you reblog it. Maybe ask yourself if that post may be hurtful to a mutual? Perhaps youve got a mutual who writers A/B/O or CharacterxReader fanfiction who doesnt wanna see your reblog of the callout post stating reader×character fanfic is gross, or perhaps your mutual creates fun text posts applying quotes to their fave characters and youve just reblogged a 90k+ note post calling them cringy and overdone.
Just THINK please. Its not necessary. We've got to be KINDER to each other. Please don't let this place become like Twitter. Twitter was a toxic cesspool where no one had anything worthwhile to add to the discussion, no one created, everyone was just screaming angry rants into the void. Dont let tumblr become like that, because it will be the death of this place. And where will you go to find fanart and gifsets of your blorbos then?

how many floors left
Tumblr media
wc: 1.7k content warning: public sex, smut, fingering, kissing, established relationship, not proofread, multi-fandom x reader
•°. *࿐
Entering your workplace which is a big tall glass building with about 70 floors, you come in your professional attire daily. Hair and makeup nicely done, wearing your pencil skirt, an ironed blouse and black stockings which matched with your shiny black heels. The jewelry you picked today complemented your eyes and matched the rest with your outfit. You worked under the CEO of the company, as his assistant. Little did the whole company know that you were secretly dating him.
Dating at work was strictly prohibited to ensure that the work environment is productive, and not filled with gossip and toxicity. You crossed over a few rules with this. One, you started dating one of the people you have to engage with on a daily basis at your workplace. And two, the person you were dating is the CEO, the person you work the most with. It was like he was bending the work rules for you. However, you both were able to put up a front where you’re both completely professional on work grounds. But not whenever you were in his office with him alone.
You scan your ID card to clock in before heading to the elevators. You noticed how unusually empty it was that day. Am I late, or am I just way too early for today’s scheduled meeting? You pondered to yourself for a moment. Usually to prepare for meetings you decide to come at least 20 minutes earlier than when the gathering is held. It’s normally bustling at that time, with some people here asking to clarify the documents and some people still finishing up their papers. About to press the call button for the elevator, you hear a clicking sound coming from behind. A male figure was walking towards you and the elevator you’ve chosen to use even though there were plenty available. His finger touches the button before you could hit it. Looking up with a stern look on your face to see who beat you to the race, it was no one else other than your boyfriend who you’ve been dating in secret.
“Good morning, Miss. I see you’ve come earlier for today’s meeting,” extra emphasis on the Miss to toy with you. He’s holding himself back from smirking to keep it professional in case anyone's around. He cleared his throat, turning his attention to watch the number of floors race down to your level.
“Morning Mr. CEO. I see you also came early but what for? I’m the one who’s preparing the meeting for you,” you’re looking at him like he’s got something up his sleeve. Typically he comes to the meeting right when it’s starting, you never see him come early because you actually do your job right.
“Just wanted to help. I’m your boss overall, I’m here to help you submit your work to me,” he chuckled. Rolling your eyes, the elevator stops at floor one. Smoothly opening its doors upon entry, you both step in.
About to click the same floor, he exchanges a look that says You can press it. Returning the favor, you press it for him. The meeting was located on one of the top floors of the whole building, floor sixty-nine. The doors closed, creating that gravitational pull as the elevator is about to take off into the air. You stood shoulder length apart with your boss.
“Sooo… now that we’re alone would you mind telling me why you’re such a tease this early morning? What did you do before getting here..?” Naturally you’re curious why he was in such a good mood, this early. Usually he’s the grumpiest and coldest person alive in the morning. You pondered, He must’ve done something devious, but what would he do before even getting to work besides eating and getting dressed? Catching his attention with your words, he looks down at you, practically beaming with joy.
“Because I wanted to come early to.. I don’t know.. get some alone time with you, since you know.. the rules, even though I’m basically running this company” he’s stepping towards you, making you walk into the wall backwards. Your ass touches the handrail of the elevator leaving you nowhere else to run. His actions have your mouth parted in surprise. You always thought he didn’t even know his own rules, he’s just a man living carefree while running a big company.
Finger on your chin, tilting your head up so you’d look at him. His sinful eyes narrowed looking into your eyes. You’re starting to turn a light pink hue as you grasped onto the handrail, as if it was gonna help you achieve anything.
“Do you really want to do this.. at work?” Both of you are very aware that there’s just a one in a million chance of getting caught this early in the office. You just have to pray that no one’s already on one of the floors pressing the button for their departure.
His lips lightly brush against yours, a simple peck that you wanted more of. He knew that of course. Noticing that you’re currently at floor 17, it was gonna be a long ride up and you both had time to waste while you stood in the traveling structure. Pulling his head down to meet yours with your hands, your lips meet once more. His hands tightly gripped your waist to draw your body closer to his as you two shared a long passionate kiss. Sliding your hands down to his shoulders, you held onto him as you sloppily fought with tongue for dominance.
His right knee gradually started to come in between the soaring heat your legs produced. Slamming you down against the wall for support as he started to rub his knee harshly against your stiff pencil skirt, getting it to scrunch up at your waist. Enough to edge you on, he’s grinding his knee against your damp and sensitive clothed clit. You can’t help but moan into the kiss, sparking more arousal to catch onto your panties. Your arms wrapped around his neck as you part from the kiss, head laying on his shoulder feeling the sensations he’s creating from under. He’s kissing the crook of your neck. Fluttering your hazed eyes, you were currently at floor 24. Getting a lot of fun before prepping the company meeting in a timely manner that’s worth the same time as traveling seven floors up, not bad.
Your worries and concerns dissolved when he put two fingers on your clothed cunt. Feeling your wetness increase due to the thrill, he snickers at you.
“How many floors have we got left baby?” Whispering in your ear, his hot breath makes your skin flinch. You squint back at the small digital screen displayed above the buttons.
“Umm.. 39. Wait no, 36 floors. Well it’s moving up,” enjoying the adrenaline he plants another kiss on your lips.
“Haha, that’s so much time to let us get down.” Looking down, you feel a slight tug on the sides of your panties. His hands were at work pulling them down just enough to have your bare cunt exposed, leaving you to quiver as the chilled office air touched your wet pussy. His fingers on your clit, you’re holding on to his biceps covered by his blazer as he moves his digits in slow small circles. Breathing out whimpers of pleasure, he kisses your collarbone, inhaling your scent.
“I love the smell of your perfume. How do you smell and look so good every morning? I know I don’t show it, but whenever I see you running around the office I can’t help but stare. You’re so beautiful, you know that?” He cooed, increasing the pace of his fingers that traced your clit multiple times with no end. You’re whining, trying to push his right arm off your clit, overstimulated.
“We’re nearing.. floor 50 M-Mr. CEO” stuttering, high off the pleasure. You can’t help your legs as they start to twitch and shake from him teasing your swollen clit.
“Oh, please.” Resisting your hands that try to push him back, he plunges his fingers into you. His left hand takes your weak grip off him, leading you close to his freshly shaven jawline, landing a kiss on your knuckles.
“I’ll make you finish before we arrive,” giving you a defiant look, he finds your sweet spot. Your back arches against the traveling elevator wall as he pokes and curls his fingers inside you. Secreting more fluids that started to drip down onto his knuckles, the squelching noises grew audibly. His head was slightly glancing over his shoulder to count down how many floors were left. Currently, at the 59th floor of the building. Feeling the sparks grow unignorable down there, the build up from the pleasure started to occur, your orgasm was awaiting to be unleashed.
“I.. I’m gonna.. gonna, cum..!” Pulling your head back as you surrender yourself to the pleasure, soft kisses being planted on your jawline. His speed increases rapidly probing at your incoming release, creating a line of milky white froth on his fingers.
“Cum for me, Miss. On my fingers. I want to feel you clench tightly around my fingers when you cum,” were the words you heard come from his mouth when you orgasmed. Your legs twitched as you felt the gravity in the elevator shift, coming to a halt. Shit. Why did the elevator come to a stop? Your mind was blank, trying to recover from the slightly numb sensation and regain your composure.
Looking at the floor number, you were only on floor 66. Did someone come in earlier than you to also prepare for the company meeting? He’s looking back with a shocked look of worry flashing in his eyes. Covering your body and exposed bottom with his big build, he puts both his hands at the sides of your head, against the wall as if he’s shielding you from the door. His face screamed out, It’s gonna be okay, you’re not to be blamed. You’re breathlessly trying to look behind him, gazing at the elevator buttons, then with the floor number trying to figure out why it stopped moving.
You see the elevator doors open where you make eye contact with your coworkers as they peer back at you, as well as the imitating male figure that’s facing towards you, the CEO.

Tumblr media
With this tweet, I do agree that you do get more flack for your creative decisions if you are part of a marginalized community. However, that doesn't mean that all criticism and hate is given to you because of your gender identity or sexuality.
Creators get criticism based on poor writing decisions, entitled behavior, or controversies, regardless of who you are. Creators like Seth Rogan, a straight white man, got plenty of hate and criticism for Santa's Inc and Sausage Party because of its poorly-written humor, offensive media, and the comments he made of it online. The same criticism applied to other cishet creators as well, such as John K, Chris Savino, Matt and Trey, and Seth MacFarlane, for either poor writing, overly edgy jokes, or even heavier controversies such as gr00ming and sexual harassment.
Rebecca, Dana, Vivzie, and Gooseworx, are all queer women in the animation industry. They all write cartoons that consist of queer, female-centric fantasy, which are bound to get endless love from fans and endless hate from homophobes and sexists. However, their work and lives as people are a lot different than Vivzie's, and they get less criticism for their work for a reason. Sure, there still are a fair share of bullies that hate to hate, but that isn't the same thing as people critiquing your work. I love SU, TADC, and TOH, but even I can acknowledge why it might not be for everyone. It's not going to be everyone's cup of tea. Heck, people are allowed to be fans of your series AND give it constructive criticism, too! Sometimes, even I go "I liked that idea! However, wouldn't it also be cool if they...". I do that with every series I enjoy sometimes, regardless of their stance as a creator.
These three can handle constructive criticism, strive to bring their creations to life, want to make their great works even better, and are kind to their fellow creators and fans who enjoy their work, even if they criticize it sometimes. Not to mention, they are all able to control their fandoms when they act out of line. Vivziepop, however, doesn't really do that.
She takes most criticism as hate, barely intervenes to stop fandom harassment and threats towards other fans or critics, bullies and throws away her closest friends, likes posts building herself up and putting others down, and writes her ideas out with either poor pacing, hypocritical humor, romanticization of abuse, and with underdeveloped ideas from a writing standpoint, with no drive to get better as a writer. It's more than just, "Let me write what I want!". It's about making your good ideas incredible. It's about succeeding at perfecting your premise, characters, and message.
Unlike Viv, they write their female characters with complexity and understanding, acknowledge fandom discourse with responsibility, are well-liked amongst their cast members and friends, discourage bullying and harassment, and continue to write well-received and adored cartoons. They have had their fair share of controversy, but they at least acknowledge, explain, and apologize for whatever they are accused of. None of their histories as a creator has ever been as toxic as Viv's. Even at 32, she still behaves as a passive-aggressive teenager who bullies people but still pretends to be a good friend to others.
Her works aren't awful, but I believe her shows' reputations would be a lot less tainted if she were a kind person with a good online image. She has all the right ideas. She just needs the assistance and development to execute them accordingly. Most importantly, she needs to learn how to redeem herself, too. Apologizing to her former workers is a start.
Yea I don’t have much else to add here, I agree with basically all of this.
It’s one thing to respond to criticism or even ignoring it if you think you know what you’re doing, but Viv just cannot ever let things go, every critique is like a personal attack on her character rather than a criticism of her show(s). She’d be better off ignoring all the criticism rather than reacting to it to be honest.
Your last statement I think I agree with most of all.

What would you say are your more controversial opinions about the hp characters?
ohhhh okayyy. i feel like my opinions on a lot of the characters aren’t controversial because i dont feel super strongly towards anyone in any negative light but here are some i could think of at the top of my head:
i’m glad the malfoys faced more extreme backlash after the second wizarding war. a lot of people in the fandom seem to be very sympathetic towards draco and scorpius for getting dogpiled with the brunt of it (which yeah, it sucks, especially for scorpius) but the prejudice makes complete make sense to me. if i was someone who didn’t know scorpius’ character, and had someone from my family get killed in the second war due to death eaters or something— seeing the malfoys still be wealthy and walk around freely without any jailtime, i would be bitter too. they’re hated on but they’re still one of the richest families ever, so they’ll live LOL
another anon has asked about this and i haven’t responded to them yet but when i do i will link it here for my reasons. basically: the best character in the cursed child is harry potter. i think the way they wrote his character and ptsd carried the play. it was def his story, not albus’.
i do think dumbledore has some aspects of him that may be considered morally gray, but mostly i dont think he is. he does everything for the good of the world, and his complete selflessness leads him to sacrifice anything for it— even himself and the people he loves, when necessary. i completely understand why people wouldn’t agree with his methods though.
james potter isn’t a sunshine character he’s a dickhead. fans of him made him a golden retriever character to be more palatable for modern times. i like him the way he is: an asshole and then less of an asshole 👍 this is what true stanning looks like
pansy parkinson is racist and out of all the female side characters, developing HER is so questionable from fandom
harry had questionable descriptions about a lot of male characters to make people think he could be a little 🏳️‍🌈 there was bill, there was sirius, there was cedric. but draco is not a part of that list. harry was not feeling draco whatsoever throughout the series but drarry shippers cling to that one ‘obsessed’ line
furthermore, harry rejecting draco’s offer of friendship wasn’t a sad or a ‘what if’ scene. draco was being a classist piece of shit and harry didnt want to fuck with that, there isnt any way in any timeline he wouldve accepted draco’s friendship.
slytherin sucks just generally lol. people want so bad to pluck anti-heroes out of a series that was written specifically with the mind to make all the characters suck.
hermione and ron’s drama isn’t as toxic as people make it out to be. yes, this includes the time hermione sent birds after him. people act like its the end of the world but she was tackling puberty and the end of society soooo i give her a pass to tweak out.
mostly every harry potter character has horrific names. like literally mostly everyone. even the name harry potter 🙁
movie romione wasn’t that bad LOL
severus snape’s ‘redemption’ or whatever was so ass. he bullies kids for five years and then everything is chill because… true love? on harry’s mum? are you kidding me 💀
weasley family angst goes hard but people (especially percy stans and some ron&ginny stans) acting like they’re the most toxic family to walk the earth make me want to rip my hair out and eat it. molly loves her kids guys shes not evil. jesus.
genuinely trying to think of more but i can’t right now…. maybe i will reblog and add to it. i feel like most of my opinions aren’t that controversial though 😭

Hi! Been re-reading some of your future-fic oneshots. I'm just curious to ask: considering Nico as someone tired and settling for Will and canon Will (uhm, the fandom writes him well sometimes), what do you think would be the last straw (for either of them, or both) for a solangelo break-up? Is it possible even with only a very minor (or none at all) intervention from Percy?
Would love to hear your thoughts!
Okay, let's do a deep dive into Will and Nico and their relationship, and how, as they are written, they are already doomed as a couple.
However, if you want the TL;DR: Nico and Will are incompatible from a fundamental level. Their personalities and hobbies require way too much compromise to work together. In my future fics, Percy just sped up the inevitable. There's is no one "last straw" as there is an ever increasing pressure that eventually becomes unsustainable.
First, let's look at the dynamic they develop from their first on-screen interaction in BoO: Will nags Nico, tells him he's wrong about his own feelings of isolation and loneliness, and proceeds to basically gaslight him that people never shunned him and he did it to himself. Nico, who has been alone for so long, takes this as a show of concern and affection, and develops an infatuation with Will.
Fast forward to ToA, and it's more of the same. Nico is gloomy, or sarcastic, or a bit morbid, and Will is bothered by it. He's bothered by who Nico is, and decides to "fix him". Nico, meanwhile has grown dependent on Will as his other relationships grow distant (Percy, Hazel, Reyna, and even Hades), and begins feeling jealous of Will even touching others. Needless to say, that's a very toxic basis for a romantic relationship.
When tsats comes around, we get the relationship at its worst. The very first scene is Nico saying he is into fictional bad boys, and Will being disappointed in him. We see that Nico is now watching his every word, glancing constantly at Will to make sure it doesn't displease him, and Will is happier that Nico is "better", though worried he might relapse, lose him to "the darkness" inside him.
Will in tsats is just the worst. He's useless on the quest, he tries to make Nico turn his back on the Underworld (the closest thing he has to a home), he whines, and he simps for Persephone while his boyfriend is right there. Some of it is an intentional flaw, but most of it we're meant to read as romantic and genuinely "sweet".
At the end, Will "learns" that he needs to accept that Nico will always have some darkness in him, and he just needs to "shine brighter" for them both. This doesn't really solve their problems as a couple: They have very little in common, Nico's too dependent on Will and has isolated himself from family and friends, and Will's newfound "acceptance" is tied to seeing Nico as inherently negative.
This relationship is simply not sustainable in the short or long-term, and eventually it will give. Either Will gets tired of having Nico around disrupting his sunny energy, or Nico lashes out over being "the problem" Will has so graciously decided to burden himself with.
A break-up is not only inevitable, it's the healthiest thing either of them can do. People would say to try couple's therapy, but therapy can't make people suddenly like hobbies or personality traits they find repellent. Will is in love with the idea of a "fixed" Nico, and Nico is in love with the idea of a boy that likes and fights for him.
The break-up catalyst can be anything: One nag too far from Will, Nico doing a morbid joke too many, just waking up one day and realizing they were never really in love. Either way, it's not a matter of how, of whether Percy is there or not, it's a matter of when. When does it become too much for them to keep pretending they want the same thing out of this relationship.

im bored and wanna argue with a wall why i ship lawlight.
alright so lets get started! the first thing that people usually bring up with lawlight is the age gap. so basically at the start of the series light is 17 and L is 24 BUT when they meet light is 18 and L is still 24. theyre literally adults. now okay that's kinda a shit excuse so lets talk about why the age gap is NOT the problem with their toxicty. (its their personalities-)
first off the main problem with agegaps are the power imbalances, the thing with L and light is yeah they have this. but you wanna know what? they'd have this even if light was the exact same age as L, because the whole point of death note is the power struggle that the two of them have going on. why do they have this? because theyre equals in pretty much everything, IQ, tennis etc. the power struggle they have is intriguing and everyone can agree to this, you wanna know why? YOU WATCHED DEATH NOTE. thats like half of the entertainment, watching these two go toe to toe.
then there's the "theyre in different stages of life" argument. they're not, they're just really not. L's doing nothing with his life but solving cases (sry buddy but its true-), and light's literally just doing the same thing except killing people and keeping L from solving the case. not to mention that 6 years is not that big of an agegap. no, seriously im being so genuine right now. like yeah okay, its weird if an 18 yo dates a 12 yo thats wrong because the 18 yo is an adult with a TON of more life experiences than they 12 yo, they've gone through puberty, etc. they know a lot more about sex and stuff as well so that is grooming.
but what if a 30 and 36 yo are dating? that's fine, you wouldn't object to that as long as they met at a time when they were emotionally mature enough to make the decision to date.
also there are much larger age gaps than just 6 years in real life. there are tons of couples that have 10 or 12 years (one of my friends parents have a 20 year age gap) in between the two of them and have been together for a while (NOT when one of them was younger) and they're in a healthy relationship. my parents have a 6 year age gap, it's totally fine. theyre healthy there's not power imbalance and stuff like that
anyways moving on from that. there's the whole ethical standpoint of their debate but like... guys light's a mass murderer be so fr right now. then there's the victim x their abuser argument but literally that can go for either one of them.
yes light killed L but it wasnt like L wasn't trying to do the same (if he convicted light he WAS going to kill him, make no mistake on that). he literally told the task force how once he captured kira he was going to bring them his HEAD (he knew light was kira, he's known pretty much since he approached him at the college so he WANTED to kill light).
now is the ship toxic?... hell yeah, toxic as fuck. there are hardly any relationships (romantic or platonic) that arent toxic to some extent. hell even light and his father's relationship is toxic and they're family. light uses his father's position to kill more people, he wouldve killed his father if he was a risk into revealing that he was kira, he wouldve killed any of his family if them being alive was a risk to his identity.
but what about L? well he looks down on literally everyone who isn't as smart as him with the only exception being watari and possibly light. any relationship with him he's going to regard the person as wasting his time or not intelligent enough. there is that one line where misa kisses L on the cheek and he says how he could fall in love with her. i do think he's being genuine but keep in mind it would still be toxic for her as L is way more obsessed with figuring out tough cases than retaining a relationship.
so if its toxic people cant ship it right? wrong. there are tons of toxic relationships in fandom AND in canon that have insane power dynamics. there are a few in arcane as well, caitvi (caitlyn's an enforcer vi's from the undercity) and jayvik (viktor turned into a FUCKING GOD and tried to basically turn everyone into robots where jayce is literally JUST HUMAN) are pretty big examples. now are these toxic? Mmmm honestly depends on who you ask lol. imo yeah a little (in canon at least seeing as how caitlyn did gas vi's people and viktor DID try to take over piltover) but they're still shipped widely.
and even if a ship isn't inherently toxic some people will go out of there way to make it toxic because thats just what they like. its fandom. there are going to be stuff you do and dont like about it. lawlight just tends to be one of those things and honestly i dont think its as bad as people are making it out to be. and not to mention toxic ships really are just an acquired taste, once again its part of EVERY FANDOM (havent seen it yet, you will stick around, trust me it'll happen) and you just gotta learn to live with it lol.
now do i think that theyre in love in the anime? no, but do i ship them anyways and in my own aus? yeah, but then again either L's aged down or lights aged up so what the hell do i know?
hope you enjoyed my ranting lol. byeee
(ALSO THIS IS NOT BEING USED TO JUSTIFY FUCKED UP DYNAMICS IRL. THESE ARE FICTIONAL CHARACTERS.)
tldr: their age gap is NOT the problem to their toxicity its them and i like it that way

OPINION ABOUT THE NEW MILEVEN DEFENCE VIDEO ( 1 )
Part One Her comments / My comments
"Have you seen those YouTube videos where YouTubers get into a controversy and then make a video to clarify things, starting with a sigh? Well, this video is going to be controversial, so I want to do the same. Hello everyone, how are you? I hope you're doing great. My name is Zena, and I'm the creator of the podcast 'La Pulga de la Acróbata', which is a podcast about my favorite TV shows, including 'Stranger Things'.
Today's episode is the main reason why I wanted to create this podcast in the first place. If you talk about this topic on social media, you get torn apart immediately, and you can't express your opinion freely without getting criticized. That's why I created this podcast, to be able to talk about whatever I want, without holding back.
Today, I'm going to do just that. This episode is about the Byler ship, the ship between Will and Mike, and the people who claim that they like each other. I can't say anything else because, well, you get the idea. You get torn apart, criticized, and even receive death threats. I've been through that. So, I'm going to double down here.
I want to mention that this war has always been two-sided, like anything in a fandom. Some Bylers (not all) send hate to Milevens, and some Milevens (not all) send hate to Bylers. So, we're not going to wash our hands here.
I'm going to talk about the Byler ship, I'm going to talk about the scenes that they see as romantic, which clearly aren't. They're just good friends. I'm going to logically defend my ship. I'm a Mileven shipper, which means I ship Mike and Eleven, the main couple of the show, and it's canon, whether you like it or not.
It's funny that some Bylers are so sure that they're going to be endgame ( byler ), and yet some Milevens get stressed out and start criticizing us. It's like, yes, Mileven is canon right now, it's not news, we're not denying that it's canon. So, why do you want to convince us that they're going to be endgame when we clearly see the show in two different ways?
Basically, because when we ship Mileven, we get a lot of criticism, saying that it's a forced ship, that it's toxic, that Mike doesn't really love her, that Eleven isn't ready for a relationship, etc.
- Forced ship, yes.
- Toxic, more like radioactive.
- Our point of view has never denied that Mike loves her. We just don't think it's romantic.
- Eleven is clearly not ready for a relationship.
So, I'm going to respond to most of the accusations that we get, and tell you why you're wrong. And finally, as the cherry on top for this episode, I'm going to talk about Byler shippers, the people who ship Will and Mike, and I'm going to clarify some things that they think are true but aren't.
Just to mention that since the treatment towards us isn't very friendly, I don't have to be friendly either.
I recommend that if you're a Byler shipper, before you try to send me hate, you watch this video in its entirety. I know it's long, but you can't send me hate without listening to my arguments. So, get ready, grab a snack, and let the Hunger Games begin."
We are ready!!

but i can’t understand why elriel is so hated. it’s crazy to think it’s because elain is so hated. like how is she the most hated sister? no offense, but nesta’s right there. if you told me before i started acotar that a character who was always snapping at and mean to the main characters is more loved than the character who’s only ever been shown to be kind and compassionate i’d think you’re insane. while i liked nesta’s redemption arc, i found it to be a bit lacking. it was 95% her being rude to the IC and 5% her being polite. i understand it’s to show her growth but her story didn’t feel balanced enough. it could’ve been a lot shorter while still packing a punch. and unfortunately it lured a horribly toxic loud bunch who completely missed the point, believe nesta never did anything wrong, hate the IC (even nesta’s LI like what??), and only wanna read about acosf’s characters (the valkeries, BOE and eris). it’s all i see. you’d think the first three books didn’t even happen.
also imo the warrior fmc is too overdone at this point. it’s in every romantasy book and film/show and they’re rarely written well. oddly enough, i actually think it’s caused more internal misogyny in women than people realize. any female character that is soft, quiet, and has unconventional strength (eg. compassion and kindness in the face of a cruel world as opposed to the warrior strength we keep seeing) is hated, thought to be weak, and not good enough. i hate that people who like elain are in the minority. i also believe elriel has the potential to be one of the best love stories in recent romantasy books, if sjm can pull it off
I know right? But they hate Elain bcs she’s too “boring”, “quiet” and is more interested in baking/gardening then being loud and insulting whilst wielding a sword. Its why certain antis stans of hers want Lucien to bring her out of her shell so she can be sassy like every other typical fantasy fmc. That or predict she’s “secretly evil” so Elain can be more interesting.
Yh but Nesta is the misunderstood elder sister. The one who is a victim in every single situation and does no wrong, everyone is out to get Nesta specifically and make her life miserable. She’s the misfit in her sisters’ perfect story and since booktok made the trope popular - these misfit characters are more liked whilst characters like Feyre and Elain are boring in comparison. I think most antis hate the fact Elain gets away with everything, for example the IC being cold w Nesta due to how she treated Feyre yet they’re perfectly ok with Elain despite the fact she was also complacent in Feyre’s abuse. That and Rhys seeing both sisters differently, Nesta like an Illyrian and Elain as Elain, aka boring and soft in comparison. They basically hate that Elain is potrayed as a baby and take it out on Elains character for not “standing up” and getting herself out of the baby image she created.
I’m actually a huge Nesta stan, I love her deeply. The only person Nesta needed to “redeem” herself to was Feyre and Id say Mass failed to do that right but personally, I don’t take SF as a redemption story but a healing one for Nesta which Mass executed ok. Like, it wasn’t a good healing story but it got by. Acosf was lacking in every aspect accept from found family. It could’ve definitely been done better. Acosf gave rise to the anti IC stans and their takes are just wild. I think most of them need to stop with the acotar series altogether. They’re letting their opinions influence how they want the story to turn out instead of looking at the canon foreshadowing Mass has laid out, antis do the same. Its why I’ve distanced myself from Nesta stans, the constant “Hate everyone except Nesta, Valks, and Vanserra brothers” became tiring and mentally exhausting, ruining the fandom experience for me.
A lot of people allow acosf to overshadow the rest of the series. The vibe in the fandom before acosf and after were so different, one was fun and enjoyable whilst the other is terrible and becoming toxic year after year.
the whole enemies to lovers, warrior, sassy fmc x cold, shadow mmc tropes are so overdone. I feel like most books are becoming copies of each other. Its just trope-filled romance w a side of plot and the reason there’s so many of these same books is because authors know they’ll sell. So instead of branching out and being creative- they’re writing unoriginal pieces of work. And its a harsh criticism but honestly the truth.
We need something new in the genre and an author that has the guts to release something that will standout instead of blend in which I think an author like Sjm can pull off with an elriel book. Soft fmc with the power of sight is already interesting but add in the bond situation thats going on between elriel/lucien and you’ve got an intriguing premise for a book.
heavy on the fact its internalised misogyny. Sure. There was a time within the book genre where loud, sassy fmc’s like Nesta would not have been accepted or liked but characters such as Feyre were loved, but now that’s changed. Characters like Nesta are loved and wanted whereas people critique Feyre/Elain coded fmc’s. To call Elain boring yet praise Azriel - which is her literal mirror - IS misogyny. To be suspicious of Elain for the same traits Az has but never question him, IS again misogny. But antis never want to admit it. Changing Elains character to suit Lucien’s storyline in most cases is misogyny. They’ll just never admit it.
I hate it too but at least when her book comes out, lots of people will change their minds and begin to love Elain.

you guys i can’t take this anymore i need to release steam from this pot of killer and dust thoughts that’s on the stove
listen. if you don’t know by now. one of my favorite things to do is bridge narratives between fanon ideas, and canon truths hehe
Killer and Dust. The accepted dynamic is basically killer being a pestering little shit and dust being over it.
THATS GREAT ON ITS OWN it’s funny etc
but think about their ACTUAL characters for a moment. they are two sides of the same coin.
⬇️
i don’t want to hear any of that old fandom “they are literally the same” shhhhh. nuh uh dear friend, they commuted the same (general) action💥
their motives and situations are very different however! which is important when it comes to understanding a character
They both played into an opposite role in their world if you ask me.
Killer partners with chara, filling the role of the player. he’s a lot like flowey actually.
(in killers world, while he is still a pawn of this sick game, he gets manipulated after all, he has taken on the ROLE of the player. everyone else are the pawns.)
dust is against the anomaly of dusttale, which is that worlds player.
dust is a pawn. a pawn that is defying the player of the game
(in the same way that killer is still pawned, dust still uses his fellow “pawns” as a means to “win” the game, meaning he’s also playing)
(but again, i’m speaking role wise)
Killer and Dust’s dynamic doesn’t have to just be haha funny, it has some actual merit and potential to their characters.
Killer is constantly looking for new forms of entertainment. something new. he’ll get bored, and if he’s bored he’ll have to look at himself. killer is very much a character representing disassociation avoidance and to an extent, escapism (huh. like someone playing a video game?)
Of COURSE he’s gonna poke at people. it’s INTERESTING. it gets a REACTION. he gets to have that small power trip of being in control, after feeling like he lost control this is something that’s probably addictive to killer.
meanwhile dust…well. killer acts like his own anomaly in a way. he prods at him, toys with him, he’s leering and he takes pleasure in any reaction dust gives. dust probably would resent this feeling without really knowing why. he feels like some toy, and he’d probably be inclined to even interpret a genuine interaction this way.
this honestly makes dusts inclination to shut off or dull down any emotion make more sense. be as unremarkable as possible, and you’ll be left alone, right?
isn’t that…kind of what sans does? he’ll repeat same lines of dialogue and such when he reallyyy doesn’t have to. he’s being uninteresting. (and no he doesn’t need to remember everything magically for that to be possible. in game he will poke fun at past conversations and dialogue so he’s clearly aware enough)
Killer wants a response, so dust doesn’t give one.
killer wants control and feels like this is a challenge, dust feels cornered and defensive
if they had existed in the same world, it would have been killer vs dust in the end either way.
it’s a big old game of cat and mouse until someone snaps. they need to be given the opportunity to understand their similarities
even in an interpretation where they are in a healthier relationship, in whatever capacity, i think these mindsets would be conflict they may have….
to killer , on one hand he may be OFFENDED by his lack of response. he may be EXCITED, it’s a CHALLENGE. he might take dusts resignation as a sign of submission, which would give killer a HIGE power trip.
he might. genuinely just be trying to have fun?
it could be ENTIRELY lighthearted, and it’s still…rather toxic, considering where that mindset branched from
and we know dust won’t be inclined to say anything. he probably doesn’t understand his own feelings to be frank💀 he just feels gross and intimidated and cornered so he shuts off and sees killer as oppressive , and grows resentful regardless of intent, as these feelings only feed into his crippling self hatred anyways
….thats all for tonight-

Mitsukou Analysis: Nightlife Arc
I have to be honest, I didn’t think I would get this far. I thought I would give up in the middle of these analyses, and I would be saved from making this one, but alas, here we are.
(Who am I kidding, chapter 120’s gonna be so. Much. Worse.)
Tumblr media
This isn’t quite as important as the other events that happen in this arc, but it’s still of note how our Mitsuba becomes a smiling little angel over here, and this is Kou’s actual response: “……welp.
I don’t… why would you do that? He didn’t even answer the question! If Nene asked him that, he would probably grin and go, “yeah! :D”.
This is kind of a crack theory, however, this panel ties in ever so slightly.
Have you ever read KotLC? Not a lot of people in the TBHk fandom do, but one of the concepts in the novels is people have “heart emotions” and “head emotions”, which are two completely different things.
I believe Kou think he likes Nene, which he doesn’t, that’s simply a result of Nene being somewhat close to his type and the only girl he interacts with on a daily basis, and his mind is molding that into making him believe he likes Nene. (Kou’s head feelings).
Because of numerous circumstances, like Mitsuba being supernatural, a boy, and a wee bit of a b*tch towards Kou, Kou believes his relationship with him is somewhere between annoying kid that lives across the street, and best friend. (Also his head feelings).
But deep, deep down, in the place where his brain cannot influence his feelings into something safer, Kou has a serious crush on this boy- and The Look TM we see in these panels might signify a bit of that crush influencing his decisions. (Heart feelings.)
I dunno, but the moment I picked up TBHk, that is what I immediately thought of. By the way, please read KotLC. I started when I was in 1st grade, and it was so. Dang. Good. Changed my life, highly recommend, and kick started my reading obsession.
Tumblr media
Basically, what’s happening in this page is Mitsuba is telling Kou he wants to die, and when Kou is understandably like, w-wait. What? You wanna die?” Mitsuba kinda just brushes it off.
Why? I don’t have an exact answer (quite a common theme in these analyses) but we can rule a few things out right off the bat.
He’s not trying to ease Kou’s mind, or protect him from the truth since in Sacrifice of the Grim Reaper, Mitsuba actually became mad a Kou for attempting to do the same to him.
Maybe Mitsuba’s the type to always have an exit plan, and always has one foot out the door? But that seems more like an Aoi thing than anything else…
Tumblr media
Ah yes, I was wondering when Kou’s savior complex would rear its ugly head once more.
Mitsuba is telling Kou Tsukasa is the only one who can put him back together, and procure him the supernatural hearts he needs to survive.
Obviously, Kou is not happy about this, since he wants Mitsuba to rely on him and only him, exemplified by his desires in the Red House.
So what does he do next? Make it blatantly clear he can do exactly the same thing as Tsukasa.
Tumblr media
Kou is attempting to *checks notes* shove a “disgusting looking thing” down Mitsuba’s gullet. How lovely.
What this means for Kou’s psychology, and what he is trying to say through this, consciously or unconsciously, boils down to: “I can get you the same things as he can.”
Many people are using this scene as an example of Mitsukou’s toxicity, which is ridiculous, and I shouldn’t even have to defend/ explain this.
Yes, Kou is force feeding Mitsuba, and yes, it is without Mitsuba’s consent. We even see him protesting, telling Kou he said no.
This is the primary argument used by the aforementioned people, but what they fail to mention is Mitsuba would literally die if he stopped eating. This is not Kou being abusive, this is Kou saving his best friend’s life.
Tumblr media
Wow. I can’t decide if Kou being furious came completely out of left field considering his personality or if I saw this coming from a mile away.
I also can’t decide whether it’s understandable why he’s so angry, or if Kou’s being unnecessarily aggressive.
On one hand, your friend is being a spoilt little baby and not eating. On the other, did you even try to convince him to eat it? Not really… he just kinda popped in with a corpse, gouged out the heart and stuck it in his face.
Kou is also this angry since he’s still dealing with the fact Mitsuba relies on Tsukasa now, not just him, and he’s taking it out on Mitsuba.
This signifies how Kou sometimes gets tunnel vision when it comes to Mitsuba, a bit like how Hanako gets tunnel vision when it comes to Nene’s lifespan- although in Kou’s case it isn’t quite so dramatic or common
(Not listening to Mitsuba in order to keep him from worrying too much in the Sacrifice of the Grim Realer Arc would be another example).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wow, I didn’t think he would actually go and say it! He’s spilling his guts out to Mitsuba right here, and all three of the things he says are an integral part of his character.
I don’t think he has ever confessed this to any character. This is kind of a big deal, actually.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I’m… gonna have to stop here for now. My fingers physically hurt, and the word Mitsukou doesn’t have meaning in my mind anymore. I’ll close out the arc by next Monday.
Curly from mouthwashing analysis (Also posted on mouthwashing community so two of these running around cos idk how to use tumblr)
This is copy pasted from my analysis on Bluesky with additional analysis here and there. Very long, prepare your reading glasses.
so this is basically a rant on curly mouthwashing. This is part character analysis and part me big angy at the fandom. Read at the risk of your braincells.
So to me it seems a whole lot of the fandom completely missed the entire point of the game. I was honestly kinda surprised by how many people who seemed to think curly is entirely evil or curly is entirely innocent. Because he's neither. He is a person with flaws and made big mistakes.
Curly seems to be a person who sees the best in people. He wants to help and be there for everyone. This blinds him to the faults of others and his constant need to offer chances to others tend to be harmful in the long run. You all know what I'm talking about. I call curly- Toxic optimism.
Curly sees jimmy in high regard simply due to there many shared years and friendship. The simple fact blinds him to Jimmy's obvious flaws and he ends up making excuses for jimmy and his behavior. Curly is a textbook enabler. (originally I wrote seems to be textbook enabler but I believe its an established trait so I changed the sentence).
He refuses to see the flaws because he doesn't want to think the person he knew for so long is capable of such things, namely what Jimmy did to Anya. He ignored what Jimmy did to Anya simply due to an years long friendship. Plus, as a man he probably just couldn't fathom the entire consequences.
Not saying men can't understand horrible stuff like SA. considering how many probably go unreported from men's side. But in Curly's case he offers to talk to jimmy as if what jimmy did was a mistake and not one of the worst things you can do to a person. He treated it as a mistake and not Jimmy literally ruining someone else's life mentally and physically. He as Captain had a responsibility to Protect Anya and reprimand (Bash in Jimmy's skull) Jimmy yet he did neither. Played very nicely into the games theme of take responsibility.
curly and Anya before the whole overlooking jimmy thing seemed pretty close (not shippy). Curly genuinely cares for her, and seems to be worried for her. Throughout the game curly is constantly working for someone else's self interest. Mostly jimmy's... What I mean to say is, he genuinely seems to be a nice person. And this is where most curly apologists seems to be stuck on. Jimmy's horrifying action overshadow what curly had done or in this case didn't do.
Curly did something wrong and he knew it far too late. When jimmy finds the gun Curly start laughing. Its not just the realization Anya hid the gun from jimmy to begin with and he found it. Its the fact Anya was right from the very beginning and curly ignored her. He ignored her and now it's too late because he physically cannot do anything. He's forced to be a spectator to the horror show he's partially responsible for. Take responsibility hah!
When curly finally realized his own horrible actions its too late and he can't even talk anymore. Its a tragic ass scenario of realizing how your actions played a part in what occurred and knowing its too late to fix things.
Curly had this toxic optimism he could fix everything without losing a close friend and without ruining Anya's life. He doesn't seem to realize he can't have both when Jimmy is a downright guiltless monster (no guilt sequence for Anya).
In conclusion, Curly is someone whose toxic optimism played a part in the tragedy that occurred due to his betrayal of trust to Anya and enabling behavior to Jimmy. He isn't some innocent goody two shoes. He definitely isn't some evil irredeemable monster. He is a human and he payed for his actions in the worst way possible. I'm not saying he deserves forgiveness, especially from Anya. But he does deserve chance to redeem himself. I hope he gets rescued but the game didn't give a lot of hope. The end.
Yk everytime a person calls dramione "opposites attract" trope, an angel loses its fucking wings. It's one of my favourite tropes, and I'm so sick of people giving it a bad name by insisting Draco liked Hermione when he DID NOTHING TO SHOW THAT throughout the series! Which then causes other people to say shit like 'opposites attract/enemies to lovers is INHERENTLY toxic and abusive.' The point of those tropes is that the characters feel comfortable enough to banter and express themselves with each other and that the love between them is strong enough to break the generational trauma. That their healthier interactions eventually outweigh and outshine their unhealthier ones. Dramione could've been beautiful if Draco had Ron's personality but he doesn't. "He doesn't want to be vulnerable uwu" Draco's cowardly ass hurled racial slurs at Hermione practically every time he interacted with her, and he never had any actual reason to, and not even so much as respect her actual skills. Honestly I wouldn't mind the ship that much if people were at least honest about it, that in-canon Dramione is not possible without the use of love potion, and that too accidental.
Dramione is not even "opposites attract", it's "elitism attracts". Where is Draco's country mouse to Hermione's city mouse? Where is Draco's street smarts to Hermione's book smarts? Where is Draco's emotional intelligence to complement Hermione's academical one? Oh right I forgot none of those are in Draco because DRACO IS MADE OF 100% IDIOT AND WAS NEVER THAT DEEP, THIS FANDOM JUST HAS A BONER FOR THE RICH
Draco is basically written to have zero redeeming qualities, why do people want Hermione to fall in love with that trashbag? When there's a perfectly good Ron full of redeeming qualities RIGHT HERE? A perfectly good Ron who DIDN'T WANT HER DEAD EVER NOT EVEN WHEN HE WAS SUPER MAD AT HER?
I will never think of Dramione as beautiful, I will think of it as yet another proof that God is dead and we killed Him
Idk if anyone else is having the same experience as me, but as a fandom neutral who doesn't ship anyone, I don't feel any sort of way about the recent info we've been getting? I don't feel like we're learning anything new, this is pretty much what's been going on, it's status quo.
What's been interesting for me to observe in this situation is the fandom meltdown surrounding it in response to what is essentially no news? It's like a giant Jenga tower of conjecture, wishful thinking and rumors was stacked up to high heaven and now a bottom piece has been pulled out, but the blocks where never from the same set to begin with, so they never even fit together properly? Some of the fans built narratives on top of other narratives and they've basically hurt themselves by ignoring crucial information but at the same time leaning into what they've interpreted as hints of things that they want to happen or be true.
Nic and Luke haven't addressed anything one way or the other and the fandom has sort of diverged into its own thing, almost separate from the people it's supposedly built around, and any info that challenges the favorite narratives is pushed against vehemently, which only perpetuates the cycle of hurt when more of it emerges.
Nothing has actually happened here. Nic is traveling with friends and attending events related to her field of work. Luke is potentially on vacation with his partner, perhaps visiting her family. These are things we've seen them do in the past multiple times, both with the same and different people. Maybe the response is so outsized because they did an unexpected thing in that they posted hints about what they were doing? But at the same time, the fandom whipped itself into a frenzy of anticipation over stories that were very innocuous at heart?
Anyway, I think we've reached a point of disconnect between fandom and celeb that can't be reconciled atp. It feels like a disembodied cluster for the sake of community and having something - anything - to connect over. It hasn't been about the actual people at the core of it for a long time.
This is such a well-articulated take! I agree with your observations, especially the idea of the fandom almost evolving away from the actual people at the core. It feels like the narratives some fans have built for themselves have created a feedback loop, where every new piece of "information" is filtered through an already established lens, even if that information doesn’t actually say anything new.
The Jenga metaphor you used is really good! People have built these intricate structures on top of speculation, and when even the smallest piece doesn’t fit or gets pulled out, the whole thing topples into chaos. I think you’re right that the disconnect between fandom and the actual people has been growing for a while now. And it’s probably made worse by the fact that neither Nicola and Luke aren't addressing anything directly, which leaves a vacuum that fans keep trying to fill with their own ideas.
I also love how you pointed out that Nicola and Luke are just doing things we've seen before - traveling, spending time with friends and/or partners - yet the response to these normal activities is wild. It's like the fandom may be searching for something that isn't there. Maybe that’s why things feel so dramatic when, in reality, it’s business as usual for them.
Thanks for sending this in! I think your perspective is a breath of fresh air in all the noise surrounding this situation. It really does feel like a reminder to take a step back and let things unfold naturally rather than force narratives that may lead to frustration!
I also want to add that it's okay to ship whoever you want together. Everyone is entitled to their own preferences and interpretations. And I think it can be fun. However, when that leads to leaving awful comments - towards others, myself included in that - because I don’t take it at face value, it becomes toxic. That might be a sign that it’s time to take a step back and let things just unfold naturally.
I don't know what's going on and I'm scared 😭😭 i just left one toxic fandom and i didn't know that tgm was as well
Hey, Nonny!
Basically, the unthinkable has happened, and a member of our community was doxxed and lost her job because of it. I can speculate as to what exactly happened and what the cause behind it was, however, I don’t have concrete proof.
I will say, that there is no amount of petty drama or argument related to fandom that is so serious that it warrants this type of behavior. The lives of others is nothing to play about, I don’t care how mad you are about an argument. There are lines you just don’t cross, and I didn’t think that needed to be said, but here we are.
Now, I will say that I’ve made some of my dearest friends in this fandom and I feel like there are more creators on here that are kind and accepting than not, you just have to know how to treat people. Unfortunately, no matter where you go, there will be people who are so insecure in themselves that they have to tear other people down in order to try and make themselves feel better. Cheesy, I know, but it’s true.
I have found some of the most amazing people in this fandom, but you’ve gotta have thick skin and the ability to just tune it out and be willing to block to protect your peace when it comes to those who are…not so great.
I think, overall, our fandom is pretty great. Most people are kind and encouraging, and if you stick around long enough, you’ll figure out who those people are. I’ve said it before (and got yelled at for saying it), but the TGM fandom is what I would consider a “starter” fandom. It’s a small fandom where you can learn fandom etiquette if you ask fandom olds for advice and heed it, and for a lot of people here, it’s their first dip into the fandom experience.
But, I digress. Every fandom will have its ups and downs, and this one is no exception. Right now we’re in quite a doozy of a down, but I think the community will rally in the end, but who knows. Maybe I’m just being an optimist
