this might be mean but. it really ticks me off when people respond to authors and artists wishing for actual community and engagement with their works by saying "oh but you see im just so anxious i cannot offer you any kind words." with the optional "but do please keep making things for me anyway!" because like...

a) do you understand how anxiety-inducing it can be to pour a little piece of your soul into a work of art and share it publicly? i feel like you don't see the people creating these things as people like you and that is an issue. we are people who just really love a thing and want to talk about it with other people who also love that thing.

but moreover, and this is the part that might be mean, b) damn why doesn't your anxiety prevent you from making excuses to us then? i wish it did! like if you're SO anxious about a fic author blocking you for saying something nice, why are you not anxious about getting blocked for telling that author "okay but i don't want to comment on your works though"??? because i can tell you which of these two things is way more likely to piss me off and it isn't the comment.

like. idk man. if you really don't want to comment on and engage with people's creative works, no one can force you to. but also consider maybe not commenting on and engaging with those people's posts just to explain that you don't want to comment on/engage with their works. if you are so committed to staying quiet and being a passive consumer then commit to the bit and stop asking creative people who put way more of themselves out there than you are to pat you on the back and reassure you that you'll still keep getting free content even if you can't do so much as drop a "this was really good!" in the comments.

SJ's internal changes (I recall it was the editor in chief, someone really influential) happening JUST at the same time it was announced the epilogue would be 5 chapters (same week) + the ending not bringing up huge plot points (where the other villains are, why theres no actual Himiko corpse and instead we got Ochako's grief over that assumption, what happened to Dabi, what was the All Might vestige, why the bkdk handhold was off screen when its a big deal for them, who is Deku's dad, etc), letting them linger in the air while trying to make an okay ending + that strange two week break because of "schedule conflicts" + choosing to end BNHA under even more pressure even tho its one of the most important manga in SJ + Horikoshi talking about the ending days after the official release and bringing up how grateful he is for being able to work in SJ, as in past tense (like he is grateful he worked here, but isnt happening again; I say this bc I expected him to say something around the lines of "I hope im able to create something good here again soon!", considering we already know he has another manga project, if I remember correctly)

Thinking about how he could let it as it is, or try to pick it up and confirm the things that do matter to his story.

Btw, im not talking about the handhold as a shipper -it was genuinely important for them, as it symbolizes both their new mutual understanding and an acceptance as the new All Might duo thanks to their respective heroisms. It wouldn't be weird to add it in the epilogue, especially considering so many characters hold hands in non romanitc ways, so to choose not to when its arguably the most important one... Idk, it felt really weird as it was the only thing I was sure would get sooner or later.

rarely comment on like, american politics, but the amount of people i keep seeing talking like the new democratic lady is the same as a certain fascist, or how it wont matter who wins, is pretty worrying, i know shes not great but in a system like that, coming from that and in such short notice i dont think you can expect a perfect candidate to materialize, if thats even possible at all- and by all means she seems better than the joe, even if only slightly so?

of course the whole system over there kinda needs dismantling, and im not saying you cant criticize things, but if you let a guy win thats gonna make sure you never even get a choice again in anything while making everything even worse ..?

i think baz’s vampirism self hatred is much more tied to his mother rather than like the structural discrimination on itself idk how to articulate it but everything just comes down to him not wanting to cross that line. the line that indirectly killed his mom rather than himself, he already feels guilty enough as it is (he said in the first book that he’d usually visit her tomb to apologise) so this distinction between predatory-human-blood-sucking-monster and rats-blood-sucking-monster etc works as a way to help him separate himself from These Monsters, the ones responsible for her death

Having Childe as a fave is so fucking rough man.

I used to have this long ass period in which I would constantly hate post about him, how annoying he was etc. Everyone on here thought that I hated his guts and that he was my least favorite Genshin character in the entire damn game.

That couldn't have been further from the truth.

The real truth was that I was so pressed about the fact that he hit this absolute sweet spot for me so perfectly that I was just stunned. Like, how dare you???? It became fun to hate him, unironically.

The more I hated him, the more he appeared on my social media feeds. Just take a look at my Pinterest for example.

Babe, that's my MAIN feed btw. I refresh it on the regular and he's. He's just THERE. I don't think I even have that many pins saved of him, at least not so many to warrant this level of harassment. It gets even worse when I'm looking at other characters and he just completely takes over. It first starts with a single piece of his art and BOOM, absolute take over, it's him everywhere.

I think this harassment was too much for me that I gave in 😭😭 He's officially on pookie husband status and a lot of my followers get so confused when I talk about him, you don't know how BAD the hate posting was!!!

I still want to fight him and mess him up for good, but I fear he'd be totally down for that. Tell me, how can I fuck this man up?

I REMEMBER THAT that is so real, I don't think it's possible to just. Straight up *like* Childe. There has to be SOME bit of infuriation to go along with it. One cannot love the man without also wanting to strangle him, the two reactions just go hand in hand and are inherently inseparable. Like it's a physical property of his nature to induce rage but also love, but then realizing the love part only induces more rage because like? How dare he do that to me?

hold on. my main theory has been that gills destiny is to free the nameless prince and thats it. thats what the prophecy says thats what the chosen one is for. but now im reading the tree prophecy back and.... it.... doesnt say. what the chosen one is chosen for.

it mentions the prison can be opened via divinity but that completely separate from the chosen verse. the only information were given about what the chosen one is to do is "its choice to be made with no time to mourn"

.... what the hell does that mean?? CANONICALLY, no one on mana knows what the fuck that means. it seems like the major religions have interpreted it as "choose between land and sea", but theres nothing in this older version of the prophecy to support that!! so what does he have to choose between?

the first thing that came to mind for me was that he'll have to choose to sacrifice himself to re-seal the nameless prince. im thinking back to how destinys blade died in the war to seal it away in the first place. maybe gill really WILL get to be a sword ^_^
