Gavin Newsom, governor of California, the land of (last time I checked) the most expensive rents in America outside of NYC, ordered cities to dismantle homeless encampments and threatened to remove their funding for *checks notes* housing the homeless if they don't comply.

He also had news crews there to film him personally helping throw out a homeless person's belongings. Because he's a piece of shit who wants to be president and thinks this is the way.

That this of course will not work and will end up costing the state more money I don't think matters to him.
