Coming up with a good ending is so hard! I have something like 85% of the fic planned, but just realized I need a solid ending and a way to get from where I leave Five (he's in a bit of a less than pleasant situation) to the HEA I want to write.
Why is writing so difficult?

someone talk with me about an AU where delores is a real girl who somehow survived the initial apocalypse and spends it growing old with five and keeping him sane
someone talk with me about delores being five’s age when he discovers her body in the rubble and thinks she’s dead before he notices the small rise and fall of her chest before he pulls her out and desperately tries to help her breathe normally again and watches the life fill her eyes with tears in his own that he’s finally no longer alone
someone talk with me about delores being an only child to parents who she wasn’t close with leading her to become dependent on herself until she meets five and learns to trust other people before finding out about his huge family and doing everything in her power to help him not only because she cares about him and wants him to be happy but also because she wants to experience the family she’s never had
someone talk with me about how delores never had powers but survived for the 40+ years in the apocalyptic wasteland of the future due to her seriously genius mind (and five’s help) and lives to help five figure out how to save his family
someone talk with me about young five and delores searching for anything they can find to survive before they stumble upon a half-broken mannequin with a surprisingly intact polka-dotted blouse that five says would suit her so she puts it on out of boredom from looking for materials before five looks at her with the most genuine, in-love eyes she’s ever seen and she decides to keep it just for him
someone talk with me about five always making sure delores has a comfortable place to sleep, to rest, to eat, etc
someone talk with me about five explaining his childhood so nonchalantly one day once he realizes that he can trust delores to her surprise, and she asks why he suddenly had the strength to tell her and he looks her in the eyes and says “believe it or not, you’re stuck with me, and i’m stuck with you, and i want you to know who i am when we’re kicking this apocalypse in the ass”
someone talk with me about teenage five teaching teenage delores how to defend herself with the training he was given during his childhood but reassuring her that he’ll always be there to protect her if something were to happen (to which she reminds him that she appreciates it, but knows she can defend herself with the spite and sheer willpower she has to survive)
someone talk with me about five and delores having a makeshift wedding and five’s vows being along the lines of “even if the rest of the world was alive, i don’t think i could ever hope to find someone that makes me as truly happy as you do, and i will be eternally grateful that of anyone i could get stuck in this goddamn apocalypse with, it was always you, and it will always be you”
someone talk with me about the handler showing up from the commission to recruit five as a temporal assassin and delores as a case worker because they’re both dangerously smart and incredible at surviving in harsh conditions (also, the handler approached them separately to see where their loyalties lied and they both firmly explained they wouldn’t go anywhere without the other)
someone talk with me about delores getting fed up with the handler repeatedly making moves on five despite him clearly being uncomfortable until it bubbles to a climax and she punches her square in the jaw, which results in an ER trip and zero regret (plus five falling even harder in love with the woman who endlessly sticks up for him)
someone talk with me about five and delores plotting an escape plan to get back to 2019 which all goes well, except five had once again messed up the math (or so he thought) and he and delores are placed back in their 13 year-old bodies, but she confesses that she doesn’t mind seeing the boy she fell in love with all those years ago once again
someone talk with me about delores learning to trust and love the hargreeves just as much as five, as they learn to love and trust her just as much
someone talk with me about five always keeping track of dates and specifically remembering the exact times of significant events for himself and delores, like the moment she looked at him for the first time, the moment he knew he was in love with her, and the moment they decided they were going to stop at nothing to keep each other alive and stop the world from ending
someone talk with me about five and delores, the 58 year-old couple that they are, snuggling up on elliot’s couch together because they can’t fall asleep without the other one there to remind them that they’re safe and out of harm’s way (mostly)
someone talk with me about how delores has never been the type to step down, and she continues to stand her ground and be brutally honest when shes upset or wants five to listen to her, and he admires her bluntness (and frankly, needs it) due to his impatience and expectations of honesty at all times
someone talk with me about delores knowing exactly when five needs his time alone and stepping away to help his siblings as much as she possibly can, usually by encouragement or (again) brutal honesty hidden behind a kind and genuine smile
someone talk with me about five reminding delores of his love for her whenever it’s too quiet or he thinks she’s gone too long without him showing it, in every way he can think of, like letting her know that he would’ve lost his mind in the apocalypse without her (which.. he kind of did?), finding little things that remind him of her and bringing them to her, and holding her hand whenever he sees frustration or discomfort bubbling behind her eyes
#ok i know there’s probably some fics about human delores so please if u know of any lmk!! i need#it is so unfair that i have no idea how to write#guys if i could write… oh boy#i would have tons of 100k word multi chapter fics out at all times#it’s ridiculous#if i could write this shit#omfg i can’t even explain how much i’d love to be able to write this shit bro#i need this to be a fic and i need to be able to read 50 chapters of it right now in this moment#i’m losing my mind over them. for the love of god someone save me#please please please add onto this!!!!!! i love thinking about them#please please please if anyone wants to write about this do it omfg#you have no idea how much i’d eat that shit up#i’m probably going to add to this#i have so many ideas about them#five and delores…. my beloved#laur rambles#laur says stuff#the umbrella academy#tua#umbrella academy#five hargreeves#hargreeves siblings#delores#tua delores#five x delores#tua dolores#dolores#five x dolores#number five#tua five

Would you do one where he sees a girl who looks like how he envisioned Delores and gets her to agree to roleplay but then he can't actually tell her to Delores really was so he just lies about that and keeps slipping in the middle of sex and saying things she doesn't understand?
Thank you for this! So, this is crazy because this describes almost exactly a short fic I wrote quite a while ago. I'm not sure it's the tone you were looking for, as it's definitely a little on the dark side. Five is not super warm and fuzzy to his real-life girlfriend in this one. And any story where he's wrestling with his demons and how they relate to Dolores can get dark just by the nature of it. There's a lot going on in that brilliant brain of his, and some of it isn't good or healthy.
But, I think it's a pretty good story, so I'm going to post it here, with just a couple small changes to make it a little bit more like what you requested. However, if you read this and decide this is not scratching where you itch, please let me know if there's something else I can try.
Thank you again for this request! ❤️
Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now
Five x Dolores, Five x Female Unnamed Character, One-Shot, 6,078 words
Warnings: Smut, Doll fetishization, Five not being in a good place mentally
He knew it was wrong. He knew he shouldn’t be asking her to do what he was asking. It was fucked up. But wasn’t that the story of his life? Just when he thought he was doing ok, blending in, being normal. Then something would come along and boom, he was fucked up again.
“Hold still. That’s right…just like that.”
Five hadn’t wanted it to be like this. He just wanted to be a normal boyfriend. To have a normal relationship. He wasn’t sure it was love, but maybe it would get there eventually. But he liked the companionship. The soft kisses and sharing a bed. God, he hated sleeping alone. On the nights she wasn’t there, he laid awake most of the night; and when he did finally drift off, he was woken minutes later by some horrible nightmare. But when she was there next to him, breathing in the darkness, and he could feel the weight of her body on the mattress; then he could sleep soundly. No nightmares came if he wasn’t alone.
So, it really wasn’t fair. And he knew it. But that didn’t stop him from making his request of her. He had agonized over it for days, the sickening thought growing stronger inside his head. He tried to push it down, tried to make it go away. But it was always there, lurking in the shadows of his mind, threatening to burst forth in a manic display of craziness.
Five had been doing so well until that day. It had been years of drinking, and then therapy, and then finally acceptance. He wasn’t sure he’d describe himself as being happy, necessarily, but it was close. All those years of solitude, followed by the stresses of saving the world, and capped off by the overwhelming blame that was heaped on him by his family. Well, after all of that, the best he could do was a sort of contentment. And that was almost as good as happiness.
Afterall, he had her. And he definitely liked her. Liked having her around. He felt more at ease when she was with him, less on edge than usual. But he knew her feelings for him were much stronger than that. She loved him. He knew that because she told him. She told him at breakfast over their coffee. She told him at night before they fell asleep. And she told him while he was fucking her; hard and raw and ruthlessly, until she was clawing at his back. But he never said it back. Not once. And yet, she was still here.
Five pretended he just wasn’t ready to say it yet. He’d get there eventually; he was so close. And there were so many times when it almost escaped his lips. Those times when she would lean over and put her head in his lap, so comfortable with his body, like he was an extension of herself. Or when she was sleeping and he would look at her in the darkness, thankful she was there with him. But that wasn’t love. Not really. That was needing someone, which was entirely different.
“I need you,” he would whisper next to her ear as she groaned beneath him, clutching at his skin. At least he could say that without lying. Five may have been a complete mental case and an asshole, but he wasn’t a liar.
The thing is, he knew what the problem was. There wasn’t enough therapy or drugs in the world that could cure him from what was lurking deep down inside of him. It had been too long, too many years of it. You can’t just erase decades of something from your mind, no matter how fucked up you know it is. Afterall, that’s what drew him to ask her out in the first place, wasn’t it? Her poised posture, the wavy blonde hair, her fair complexion. It didn’t help, though. Five couldn’t love her because he still loved her.
Five had been in a real relationship before. Practically a marriage, actually. For longer than he knew most people stayed together in this day and age. Granted, there wasn’t much of a choice at the time, but he liked to think that even if they had lived in a normal society, they still would have lasted that long. He loved her, and she loved him. And then…and then he just gave her away.
He and Dolores had been an unlikely pair, that was true. She liked poetry and romance, and couldn’t get enough of every pink sunset she saw, even though they were a dime a dozen. Five liked drinking, and swearing, and surviving. But when it came to her…she was his poetry and romance and sunset. She made him human and the only reason his mind remained even slightly intact. She’s the one that told him not to do it. That shooting himself in the head was cowardly and unoriginal; two things he definitely did not want to be. So, he lived on. For her.
She was the first thing he thought of when he landed in 2019. He knew she was out there, in that department store. He just had to find her. It was a harrowing experience, trying to get her out of there, but he did it. Amid a barrage of gunfire, his powers failing him, he did it anyway. Because she was the only thing he would have died for. He had told her he would find her, and he did.
Then the next couple of days went by in a blur. After a hasty reunion in his childhood bedroom, with passionate kisses and loving embraces in his old bed, he knew they couldn’t stay there. He had work to do. A world to save. An apocalypse to stop. So, he brought her with him, shoved in that bag because he didn’t know how else to transport her safely. She didn’t mind, though, just happy to be with him again.
When he didn’t know what else to do, or where to go, he found the library. Their library. And just like most nights over the previous 45 years, Five got drunk and confessed his undying love to Dolores. He was no closer to stopping the end of the world. No closer to finding the owner of the prosthetic eye. But he had her with him, and that made him feel like anything was possible.
Then he wasn’t sure what made him do it. Maybe it was the new world they were living in, with all the people and buildings and cars zooming past. Maybe it was his siblings and their judgmental gazes towards the two of them. Maybe it was his talk with Hazel, about starting a new life over again. He wasn’t sure, but in his mind, he thought he was doing what was best for her.
So, he took her back to the department store, back where she came from. He said his heartfelt goodbye and Dolores smiled a sad smile before he turned away. His heart was broken, but deep down he knew it was the right thing to do. There just wasn’t a place for them in this new world.
Timelines came and went. The world ended, and then it didn’t. Over and over, Five fought against the impossible, never stopping until finally…finally…he could stop. And he was free to live a normal life. But that ship had sailed. He would never be normal. And he would never stop thinking of Dolores. He knew she was probably out there somewhere. Where, he had no idea. The department store had changed hands several times, and the mannequins on display there were the modern kind; faceless and genderless, wearing clothes Five didn’t understand.
So, when he came upon her years later, he couldn’t believe it. It was like someone yanked him backwards through time, pulling his body and soul through the viscosity of space, and landing him fifteen years in the past.
At first, he almost passed her by. Walking down the sidewalk that he had frequented a hundred times before, he happened to be looking at the other side of the street as he approached the old thrift store. It was only because of her that he looked over. She was with him. Walking hand in hand, they had been strolling down the street, taking in the shop windows and other sights of the city.
“Oh, let’s go in here! Sometimes they have good vintage stuff,” she had exclaimed, pulling Five by the hand and walking towards the door.
The action made Five turn his head and look in the direction he was being dragged. That’s when he saw her. Right there in the front display window. Wearing a red, A-line dress and a tacky, over-sized sunhat. She was a brunette now, but Five recognized her right away. How could he not? He dreamt of her almost every night.
He stopped dead in his tracks, unable to move. Unable to breathe. He stared at her and she stared back. Then he felt a tug on his hand again.
“Come on, what are you doing? Let’s go in.”
Five looked from the window to her, a dazed look on his face. “What?”
“Let’s go in. What’s wrong with you?” She was laughing at him, thinking he was just being his usual, slightly weird self.
He allowed himself to be dragged into the store, the little bell above the door ringing as they walked in, loudly announcing their presence. There was only one other shopper inside, along with a bored-looking sales person behind the counter. The air was stale and heavy, and smelled of old books and damp wood. It wasn’t a huge store, but it had little departments, and she wandered off in search of shoes. Five stayed near the front of the store, mumbling an excuse about wanting to look at some crappy wall art.
Once she was out of sight, Five turned toward the front window display. Dolores’ back was to him, but he would have been able to identify her even without her face. How many times had he run his hands over her smooth body, caressing her and kissing her until she laughed and told him he was tickling her? How many times had those hands touched his own body, pushed through his hair, and brushed his cheek? Just looking at her now, Five could feel the sensation of her body on his. One warm and frantic, the other cold and unmoving.
He stared for a while, just studying the back of her. He wasn’t sure what to say, or even if he should say anything. She probably hated his guts, and she would have every right to. Would she even talk to him if he approached her? He knew she had seen him through the window, but that didn’t mean she wanted anything to do with him. Five took a hesitant step closer to the display, and cleared his throat. The sales person looked up briefly, then returned to scrolling through their phone.
“Hello, Dolores. It’s good to see you again.”
Five waited. He had spoken quietly, hoping no one else would hear him, but he knew she could. The few seconds of silence that passed were torture, and he was just about to turn away again. Then he heard her voice, softly, answering him.
Hello, Five. It’s good to see you, too.
He smiled, so grateful she was even speaking to him after what he had done. “You look good, Dolores.”
Thank you, so do you. How are you?
“I’m doing well, thank you.” Five glanced around the store, making sure no one was looking. “Actually, I’m not doing that well. I’ve missed you.”
I’ve missed you too, Five.
“Hey! What are you doing?”
Five jumped slightly. He hadn’t heard her walk up behind him. She was standing there with a confused look on her face, a pair of vintage heels in her hands.
“What? Nothing.” He gestured to the shoes. “You found something?”
She paused for a moment, glancing up at Dolores, and then back at Five. “Were you talking to that mannequin?”
Five scoffed and shoved his hands in his pockets. “Of course not. I was just thinking about something and started talking out loud to myself. You know how I drift off sometimes.”
She nodded. It was true, his mind did drift away a lot. Seeming satisfied with his answer, she held up the shoes. “Aren’t they awesome? I’m going to go pay.”
Five watched her walk to the counter and he stole another glance at Dolores. He dropped his voice even quieter, barely even a whisper.
“Can I come back and see you again?”
I’d like that.
Then Five was walking back out the door, his hand in hers again, barely listening to the words she was saying as they walked back to his apartment.
Five did go back and see Dolores. Every day for the next two weeks, he found an excuse to leave and walk the few blocks to the thrift store. Sometimes he would stand outside on the sidewalk, talking to her through the window. Sometimes he went inside, cursing the stupid bell that rang overhead. The store clerk would look up and see him, recognizing him now that he was always there. On the times he did go inside, Five would make a show of wandering around the store first, picking up an item here or there. But he would eventually make his way back to the front, near the window, lingering there for far too long.
With suspicious looks from the sales person, Five would bring some shitty item up to the counter and pay for it before leaving. Then he would throw whatever it was he just bought in the trash down the street. He’d return home, usually to find her waiting for him, asking where he’d been.
“Just going for a walk”, he’d reply. Now he could add liar to his list of reprehensible traits.
Once he had it in his head, he couldn’t get it out. He still fucked her when she threw her arms around his neck in a way that he knew meant she wanted him. Still kissed her and made her feel good. At least, he hoped he did, he wasn’t that much of an asshole. But it wasn’t the same. And she called him out on it.
“What’s going on with you lately?”
“What do you mean?” They were lying in bed, naked and breathing hard after a short, but satisfying round of sex. Five was staring at the ceiling, not meeting her eyes.
“I don’t know, you just seem different. Like you’re zoning out in the middle of everything.”
Five glanced over at her, but looked quickly away. “So, what are you saying? You don’t like the way I fuck you anymore?” He knew his voice was much too harsh and she didn’t deserve that.
She looked hurt. “Of course not. I’m just saying you seem…distracted lately. That’s all.”
Five sighed, but he looked her in the eyes this time. “I’m sorry, you’re right. I haven’t been sleeping well, that’s probably what it is.”
She frowned with worry and went to place a hand on his chest. Rather than allowing the conversation to continue, Five sat up and got out of bed.
“I’m going to take a shower.” Then he blinked into the bathroom without another word, feeling like a world-class piece of shit.
Then one night after a particularly heartfelt conversation with Dolores, and one too many drinks, Five worked up enough nerve to propose what he hadn’t been able to shake from his mind.
He had initiated it this time, sitting next to her on the couch and stroking her hair, pulling her onto his lap. After a passionate kiss and some light groping, he pulled away.
“Can I ask you for something?”
She smiled. “Is it sexual?”
Five laughed, embarrassed. “Yes, actually.”
She had meant it as a joke, but now she was intrigued. “Wow. You’re usually not that adventurous. Ok, what is it?”
Five paused, thinking he should just shut up and not say anything. But the words left his mouth before he could change his mind. “I want you to pretend you’re a doll.” His face flushed red and he looked away.
Her eyebrows knitted together, not fully understanding. “A doll? What do you mean?”
He took a deep breath. “During sex. I want you to stay still and let me move your body how I want it. Like a doll.” Five had purposely not chosen the word mannequin; too afraid of being called out.
“Um, oh. That’s definitely different.” She sounded dubious, at best.
Five ran a hand through his hair. “I’m sorry, that’s stupid. Forget I said anything.” He went to kiss her again, as a distraction, but she pulled away from him.
“No, it’s ok. I want to do it for you. You just caught me off guard, that’s all.” She smiled and ran her finger down his cheek. “I can be your doll.”
Five swallowed, choking down the combination of shame and arousal that was coursing through his body. “Are you sure?”
She nodded. “I’m sure. I’ll do anything for you, you know that.”
As if he couldn’t feel any worse. He knew she was only doing this for him because she did love him. She was always trying to please him, to not anger him or make him feel bad in any way. Jesus, what an asshole he was.
“Just tell me what you want me to do.” The look in her eyes was sincere.
Five knew exactly what he wanted her to do. He’d been thinking about it for so long now. “Go into the bedroom and get undressed. Lie down on the bed and wait for me. But don’t move or speak. Just let me do everything.” His breath was coming harder now, just from the anticipation.
He saw a brief look of hesitation cross her face, but she nodded. Then she disappeared into the bedroom, as instructed.
Five waited a few minutes before getting up. He wandered slowly toward the bedroom, unsure of how he was going to react now that this was really happening. When he reached the door and peered inside, his heart stopped. There she was, lying unmoving on her back in the middle of the bed, just like he asked. She didn’t look up or speak when he stood over her, looking down.
“You look gorgeous, darling. Not that you aren’t always gorgeous.” His voice was soft and tender. Definitely softer than he’s ever spoken to her before. But that’s because he wasn’t really speaking to her. Not in his mind, anyway.
Five stared at the still figure on the bed. Aside from the subtle rise and fall of her chest, she remained unmoving for him. Even as he gently ran a hand down her chest and abdomen, testing the waters to see if she would react. But she was a good doll for him. Always eager to please.
He started to undress himself as he talked to her in his loving voice. “I’ve missed your touch, my dear. I think about it all the time. The things I’ve done to you. The things I want to do to you still.”
When he was fully naked, Five climbed onto the bed with her, kneeling over her, straddling her thighs. He reached up and took her chin in his hand, gently moving her head from side to side.
“Do you remember how it used to be? Just the two of us?”
She kept her gaze on the ceiling, but he could see her swallow when he touched her and her eyebrows creased together. He placed a soft kiss on her lips and she didn’t react. It was perfect and he groaned.
“I love kissing you,” he murmured before ducking back down for another one.
He smoothed her hair and caressed her face and neck. Five knew, in the back of his mind, that this was unfair. He’d never been this gentle and loving with her like this, and it was probably confusing for her. But that didn’t mean he was going to stop. No, he needed this. He was craving it.
He positioned his body over hers, taking her stiffened arms and moving them so they were resting across his back. She kept them where he placed them. He was fully hard now, and he rubbed himself against the inside of her thigh, moaning as he did it. He kissed her again, this time longer and harder, while he rutted into her. He heard her make a tiny whimpering noise and her hips twitched upwards.
“Shhh…stay still. Just a little longer,” he whispered, his face buried into her neck so he didn’t have to look at her face for too long.
She obeyed and her body stilled again. Only the harsh rasp of her breathing could be heard.
“You feel so good, my darling. Like always. You’re the only one that knows what I like.”
He could have stayed like that, just rubbing himself against her until he came all over her leg. He would have preferred it, actually. But the tiny part of his brain that wasn’t completely insane convinced him otherwise. Without asking, or even touching her first, Five thrust himself inside of her. He heard her gasp and her fingers clutched his back.
“Hold still. That’s right…just like that.”
She did her best to stay as still as possible while he fucked into her. He kissed her with his eyes closed a few times, but mostly he just focused on her neck and shoulder, lost in his own fantasy. He blocked out the moans she made and her hips pushing up to meet his. It wasn’t perfect, but it was close. The more he thought about Dolores, and her hard, statuesque body under his, the faster and harder he fucked her. He was desperate. Desperate to come inside of her, even though he would normally wait until she came first.
With a long groan and one final thrust, he was spilling hot cum inside of her. He pushed himself hard against her, his fists clenching the pillow under her head, until he was spent. Panting and still avoiding her eyes, Five climbed off of her, lying awkwardly next to her on the bed.
He didn’t know what to say. What was there to say?
“Sorry,” he mumbled. That was about all that came to mind.
There was a pause and she adjusted herself, moving her body now, and looked over at him. “It’s ok. You don’t have to apologize. Some of it was a little confusing, but that’s alright. It was…good.”
He looked up at the ceiling and covered his eyes with his hands. “Shit,” he cursed quietly.
He felt her hand on his arm, warm and soft. “Five, it’s ok. Really. Don’t feel bad.”
Of course she would say that. She never wanted him to feel bad. Even when he deserved it. Even when he asked her not to move and came inside of her way too early. He probably made her feel like a cheap whore, but she would never say that. Because she loved him, and this is how he repaid her. The thought actually made him angry. Whether it was at himself or her, he wasn’t sure.
He snatched his arm away from her. “I don’t need your pity,” he snarled.
“It’s not pity, Five. I’m just trying to tell you it’s ok. That I don’t mind what you did.”
Five sat up, placing his feet on the floor, his back to her. “Just drop it, ok? I don’t need a fucking therapy session.” Then he was gone again, back in the bathroom, staring at himself in the mirror. Loathing his reflection.
He had meant for it to be a one-time thing. The way it left him feeling after the first time made Five want to crawl in a hole and die. He couldn’t look her in the eye. Could hardly speak to her. But she still came back. Wanting to please him, as always. Five tried to just focus on the good thing he had in front of him. A kind, loving person that wanted nothing more than to make him happy. Why couldn’t he just go back to the way things were before they came across that thrift store? Things had been far from perfect, but at least Five hadn’t felt like a sick pervert. He never used to have trouble screwing her in a perfectly normal way, liking the way she moved beneath him and moaned his name.
But now he was truly and utterly fucked. He didn’t want her anymore. Not the real version of her, anyway. Yet he didn’t cut her loose. He pretended he still wanted her, just so she wouldn’t leave. Because now he needed her in an entirely different way.
“Please, can you do it again?” Five was kissing her chest and rubbing her bare thighs. He always avoided her eyes, now.
She didn’t answer right away and he finally looked up at her. The look on her face was filled with apprehension.
“Again? Five, this is the fourth time now.”
Five tried to tamp down his growing anxiety. He needed her to do this for him. It felt like he was going to go crazy if she didn’t.
He kissed her stomach to distract her, listening as she inhaled sharply. “How about this?” He kissed her thigh. “I do something for you first, and then you do something for me.” He gave a small kiss in between her legs and she whimpered. “Deal?”
“Yes,” she whispered, her head already thrown back, eyes closed.
Five fulfilled his part of the deal. Using his hand and his mouth, he watched impassively, almost bored, as he worked her over. The sight of her writhing in pleasure and the sound of her pitiful moans did nothing for him. He made her come hard and fast, until she was lying on her back, fully relaxed and satiated. Five eyed her wordlessly.
Finally, she opened her eyes and smiled at him. He waited as patiently as he could for her breath to finally steady. If she was breathing hard like that, it wasn’t going to work for him.
When it seemed like she had calmed down again, Five ventured to speak up. “Are you ready for your part of the deal, now?”
She flashed a quick look of uncertainty, most likely due to the underlying harshness that he had desperately tried to keep out of his voice, but had failed to do.
“Yeah, sure. I’m ready.”
Five smiled. “Good. You know what to do, then.”
She nodded and positioned herself just like the other three times she had done this for him. Lying flat on her back, eyes on the ceiling, arms and legs at her sides; waiting to be moved in the way he wanted. She controlled her breathing as best as possible, so only minimal movement of her chest could be seen.
Seeing her immobile like that, Five drew a hard breath in. He hated that he wanted this so badly, but the urge overpowered his self-loathing and he couldn’t help himself. He ran a hand down her arm, and then along her hip. His touch was gentle and slow.
“You’re so beautiful like this,” he whispered tenderly.
Five positioned her arms so they were bent at the elbows, hands and fingers molded into a slight curve. Her legs he kept straight, but spread them apart slightly. Unlike in the past, he ran his hand lightly over her eyes, closing her eyelids. He decided he didn’t want her looking at him anymore. It was too much of a distraction.
“Keep your eyes closed for me, doll,” he said quietly as he kissed her cheek. She did as he requested and kept them closed.
He proceeded to kiss down her arms and over her chest, his lips soft and gentle as they grazed her skin. He whispered loving words and told her how good she made him feel. Taking one of her hands, Five placed it on his hardened member, fitting it in the crook between her thumb and index finger. He held her hand in place while he slowly thrust back and forth, rubbing his cock over her, groaning with the intense and familiar pleasure. Soon, he wasn’t able to hold back any longer.
Rather than fuck her properly, like he did before, Five had no desire to feel the soft, wet sensation of her wrapped around him. Instead, he started grinding against the inside of her leg, in the space between her thigh and groin. It was harder there, mostly bone, and his movements became faster as he lost himself further and further into his fantasy.
He was holding his body over hers, rutting against her, moaning a mixture of obscenities and gentle praise. She stayed still for him, her eyes closed, although he could see now and then her eyes moving back and forth beneath the lids, the lashes fluttering ever so slightly. She gasped quietly sometimes, but Five was so far gone he barely noticed.
Once he was close to finishing, Five knelt between her legs on his knees. Pumping himself with his own hand, he worked himself over until he was coming onto her stomach and tits, covering her in a load of cum while he groaned loudly with his eyes shut tight.
After a few moments, Five was able to open his eyes again. He was greeted by her judgmental gaze staring back at him. A mixture of horror, concern, and disgust written all over her face as she propped herself up on her elbows. He quickly averted his eyes, saying nothing, and blinked into the bathroom for a towel. When he returned, he cleaned up the sticky mess he had made all over her while she laid there, still silent.
When that task was done, he didn’t know what else to do, and he sat nervously on the edge of the bed, feeling hot with shame. She sat up fully and finally spoke.
“Are you ok?”
That was the first thing she asked him, after all of that. After being made to lie still while Five did whatever sick thing he wanted to her, only to have him jerk himself off onto her stomach. Five just couldn’t believe she was taking this much abuse, and it turned his stomach a little. To know that he was allowing this to continue, that he was the cause of this abuse. It would be one thing if this was a mutual fantasy, but it wasn’t. And she didn’t even know the half of it.
“Yeah, why?” Five asked with a slight tone of annoyance.
She touched his shoulder, lightly, and he tried not recoil from her hand. “If there’s something you need to tell me, you know you can. I won’t care. I love you.”
And there it was. Those three fucking words that made him want to pull his hair out and scream. Instead, he whipped his head in her direction, his building guilt and anger towards himself finally unleashed.
“Why do you keep telling me that? Why?!”
She shrunk back a little. “That I love you? Because I do.”
Five sighed heavily and started pulling his underwear back on. “Do you really have that little respect for yourself? Are you that pathetic?” He stood over her now, his voice hard while she backed further away from him on the bed.
“I…I’m sorry…” her voice was trembling and he could see tears forming in her eyes.
“Jesus Christ! Now you’re sorry? For what? Don’t you see what’s happening here? I’m never going to love you, ok. So, if you think you’re going to wear me down or make me fall in love with you somehow, that’s not going to happen. Do you understand what I’m telling you? I don’t love you!” He emphasized these last words, practically yelling them to get his point across.
Five watched as her face crumbled, the last bit of hope she had been clinging to crushed in a second with his words. She began to cry and she buried her face in her hands. Her words were muffled as she whimpered pitifully.
“You told me you needed me.”
Five lowered his voice so it was softer. But his words were just as cruel. “I used to need you. I don’t anymore.”
The next day, Five was walking into the thrift store again. He hadn’t needed to make up an excuse this time. She was gone. Out of his life for good, now. He felt badly about how he treated her; horribly actually. He had always known he was a monster inside, but this was the first time he had let it escape like that. Let it rear its ugly head and completely destroy another person. A person he supposedly cared about. But he couldn’t think about that now. He needed to speak with Dolores.
Ignoring the side eye from the sales person at the counter, Five walked up to the front window. She was still there, just like always. Same red dress, same floppy sun hat.
“I have to tell you something, Dolores. Something important.”
Ok, go ahead. I’m listening.
“I want to be with you. And only you. She’s gone now. We can be together. That is, if you’ll have me.”
Of course, Five. I always want to be with you. But what happened with her?
“Nothing. She just finally saw through me. Saw that was I really in love with someone else.”
You love me?
“I love you, Dolores. I always have.”
The next day, Five came back. Only this time he hoped it would be his last time. After discussing it in secret with Dolores, they had settled on a plan. A plan to get her out of there and back home with him where she belonged. It should be fairly straight forward, but just in case, Five’s pistol was loaded and ready inside the waistband of his pants if needed. Just like last time, he wasn’t going to leave her without a fight.
Instead of trying to avoid the sales clerk, this time he approached the counter right away. It was a stupid, convoluted story that he had conjured up the night before. Something about how he had accidentally donated an item a few days prior, but realized he needed it back. Would the clerk mind checking in the back to see if he could find it?
Five had used as much charm as he could manage, hoping he seemed sincere and not in any way crazy. The clerk seemed to buy it, although he did give Five a few odd looks. Once he was behind the door that led to the back warehouse, Five took his chance.
Carefully but quickly, he released Dolores from the display stand she was attached to. It took a little longer than he had anticipated, and Five kept looking nervously toward the counter, hoping the sales clerk would take a while. Finally, she was free. He lowered her from the raised platform in the window and into his arms. He cradled her gently for a moment, before taking one more glance around. Seeing that the coast was clear, he blinked the two of them out into the alley behind the store.
Once he teleported them several more blocks away, he finally stopped and rested. He highly doubted anyone was going to miss a decades-old mannequin from a dusty old thrift store. Five caressed her face and kissed her lips. It felt so good. So familiar. He immediately felt more at peace than he had in years.
Back home, Five showed Dolores around. This would be her home now, too. He promised he would buy her some better clothes, and do away with that awful hat. But for the time being, he just wanted to stay inside and rekindle their love.
“I love you, Dolores. I’m sorry I ever left you.” He nuzzled against her smooth cheek with his own.
I love you, too, Five. We can be together now, right? Just the two of us?
“Yes, my darling. Nothing will come between us again. I promise.”

What If The Storm Ends? - Part 3 Five Hargreeves x Female OC
'What if Five's time during that first apocalypse was slightly different, what if he wasn't alone for all those years?'
Chapter synopsis: Five is plagued by the downfall of his own hubris which got him stuck in the mess of the apocalypse in the first place. Meanwhile, Octavia learns that the strange boy she stumbled across has kept some odd company in the shape of a plastic mannequin. Octavia soon realises that Five's attachment to Delores is no laughing matter, and now Five has to deal with two women living under his roof.

iii. Octavia, meet Delores
Five successfully time travelled for the first time on the 11th of November, 2002.
The boy’s abrupt departure was charged by the dispute he had shared with his adoptive father, eccentric billionaire and certified asshole, Reginald Hagreeves. As Five opened the obnoxiously grand wooden doors of the academy that he had called home he felt relieved at how easy it was to leave.
For 13 years Five and his siblings had endured the abuse regimented training implemented by their father and during that time simply leaving had never felt like an option to himself or the others. Where would he go? His name and face was plastered all over cheap merchandise throughout the city so if he did hypothetically leave it wouldn’t be long until some recognised him. Then he would have to deal with the repercussions of his father and he knew the man didn’t believe in the concept of mercy.
Five recalled the painful memories that plagued his childhood, all of which shared a common denominator, his father. Reginald trained them to the bone, they were more like working dogs than children to him. Both Five and his siblings had all been conditioned with the same purpose, to save the world. Five thought about the hours they spent being unethically disciplined into becoming the perfect superhuman team.
He thought about it all, the way his lungs would burn from over exertion, the metallic stench of blood which filled his mouth and the suffocating silence of his siblings after they returned home from a mission unsuccessful, terrified of their fathers wrath which was guaranteed.
But Five was finally free.
He had made the choice to ignore Reginalds dismissal of his desire to time travel, after all Five remembered that he was the one who obtained the ability to spatial jump, not his father, so what could the old man possibly know?
However, he was surprised by the fact that neither his father nor any of his siblings had made an attempt to chase after him. His father had called his numerical title from his position at the head of their dining table but made no effort to stop him from leaving. The only one of his siblings that showed any intrigue in his departure was his sister, Vanya, who softly shook her head as he proposed time travel to his father.
He tolerated her the most out of their siblings most likely due to the fact that she was powerless and therefore wasn’t driven by their ego unlike Luther who took his position as Number One within the family extremely seriously.
As Five strode through the street front he had walked down many times before he became elated at this new sense of freedom which consumed him. Because physically leaving was so easy he also grew slightly enraged that he hadn’t thought of fleeing the bounds of this time earlier.
He was ready to time travel, he knew it.
Five had dedicated an obscene amount of blood, sweat and tears into perfecting his spatial jumps, ensuring that his calculations were just right. And when the boy had conquered travelling through space effectively, he yearned to travel through time.
Five focused his energy into performing a spatial jump but instead of fixating on the distance he would cross, he focused on projecting himself forward in time.
He needed to start small, months first, then years.
Then he was suddenly absorbed in that familiar blue light and when he opened his eyes he was thrilled to see and feel the seasonal shift in the atmosphere. From the bright colours that people wore, the humidity of the city air which melted through his academy blazer and the sound of amiable chit chat, Five knew that it was summer.
“Not ready, my ass.” He mumbled under his breath, cursing his fathers previous sentiment.
He had proved him wrong and Five swore he had never felt so content with himself before, and that was saying something.
Feeling adventurous and intoxicated from his own adrenaline high, Five decided to jump again.
The success of his second attempt was confirmed when he found himself on the same street front, only it was surrounded by snow. Five recognised the winter chill amongst the gentle falling of snow and the absence of people.
One more time, Five wanted to jump one more time. Then he would be completely satisfied with himself.
Oh how Five desperately wished he could have stopped himself there. To tell himself that he did not need to make that third, fatal jump. He could practically hear his fathers voice taunting him as the old man recited the Greek myth of Icarus and Daedalus once.
“Must I remind you, Number Five of the tragedy of Icarus. The boy did not heed his father’s warning regarding the fragility of their feather and wax wings. Driven by his own self perpetuated ego, the boy flew too high. Thus, the sun melted his wings and he plunged into the sea.” Reginald had explained this the first time Five had questioned the legitimacy of time travel to him.
Five did not agree with his father but he did wish that he had acknowledged the man's wisdom instead of feeding his own hubris.
When Five jumped he was met with nothing but death and destruction. The silence that surrounded him was harrowing. The only noise that filled his ears was that of burning debris and the reverberation of his own heartbeat.
Everything was destroyed. The buildings which Five had known his whole life had been obliterated into rubble, leaving the street unrecognisable to the boy.
Five panicked as he ran through the remains of the street. Ash was falling from the sky like snow and it filled his nose and mouth, he could taste the annihilation on his tongue but he couldn’t find it in himself to care. His thoughts were consumed by one thing, finding his family.
He sprinted and hurled himself over chunks of concrete until he reached the academy, or at least what used to be left of the academy.
What stood in front of Five was now a mere skeleton of the building he used to call home. Despite all the painful memories that inhabited those four walls, Five never wished for it to be completely eradicated.
“Vanya!” She was the first to appear in his mind as he called out into the empty space before him. He heard nothing in response except for the small flickering of flames that consumed some parts of the house’s remains.
“Ben!” Five then thought about his brother who he renowned as the least idiotic of the siblings, second to himself of course. But not even Ben could outwit the grim reality of this current situation Five had found himself in.
“Dad!” He finally called out for his father, his voice breaking slightly. He expected his father to miraculously appear before him and give him some grand ‘I told you so’ lecture and then return home for him to receive his punishment for disobeying him.
He would gladly take the fury of his father over the desolate scene he was witnessing.
“Anyone!” He turned to the street and called out, silently hoping that a lone survivor or two would call for help from under the wreckage.
Once again, Five was met with silence. His own voice appeared to get lost in the endless void of grey industrial butchering.
Five tried to compose himself enough to conjure his energy into his palms and focus on shifting himself back in time. Even if he couldn’t get back to the exact point in which he left, Five wouldn’t care, he just needed to get the hell out of there.
He needed to hear the bickering of his siblings, the god awful jokes that Klaus made, Ben's cynical commentary or the sweet harmonies of Vanya’s violin which embedded itself into every corner of their house.
As Five’s hands were encapsulated by that familiar blue light his hope quickly died when he was met with physical resistance.
An invisible force was lodging itself against Five when he tried to use his power and no matter how he tried or how deeply he concentrated, he couldn’t jump. He felt like two brick walls were closing in on himself, he was suffocating. Five found the simple act of breathing difficult which only hindered his concentration.
His academy uniform was excruciatingly warm compared to his blazing surroundings and ash had wedged itself into the back of his oesophagus, only contributing to his laboured breathing.
Any attempt of using his powers to propel himself backwards proved to be futile. There was absolutely no way of rewinding his actions and erasing this decrepit, lifeless landscape from his mind.
As Five turned to face the remains of the academy once again he was met with the gut wrenching realisation that he was completely and utterly alone in this very moment.
Five crumbled to his knees, ignoring the way the concrete scalded and grazed his skin. The ash then began to rain down even heavier than before, it stuck to his hair, his hands and his skin. It was like he was being absorbed by the end of the world itself.
And at that very moment, Five Hargreeves began to cry.
— -- —
Octavia had left her base with Five the following morning to start their newly forged companionship.
She packed the few belongings that she had into her backpack, Five had so generously offered to carry some too. Octavia didn’t need to take much, mostly clothes, the few knives and other objects she had collected over the two years alone. Nothing really obtained any sentimental value to her anymore, everything which she did own was what she had found out of necessity for survival.
The only tangible object that had remained consistent throughout her time in the apocalypse was a dainty silver necklace her parents had gifted her on her 12th birthday. It wasn't incredibly fancy or expensive, just a simple silver chain and a matching heart shaped pendant and on the back her initials 'OM' had been engraved in italic writing. It may have sounded pathetic but the small piece of jewellery was her last connection to home, to her parents and physical proof that she lived a life before the world had caved in on itself.
Sometimes she found herself running the pad of her thumb over the backside of the pendant just to feel the grooves of the engraving. The silver itself was scratched due to natural apocalypse related wear and tear but she could still clearly feel and trace over the two letters which constituted her initials.
She was honestly impressed the dainty thing had lasted this long.
Despite being somewhat relieved to leave the concrete shack she called home, Octavia couldn’t help but feel a slight heaviness overcome her when she turned around to say one last goodbye to her shelter for the past two years. It kept her safe, protected and somewhat warm during the time she inhabited it and ultimately helped to sustain her survival.
However as she looked towards the boy who was already a few steps ahead of her she felt a twinge of relief knowing that she would no longer be alone.
The walk to Five’s base took the two of them half of the day to complete.
It turned out that Five resided on the complete opposite side of the city. Octavia vocalised her annoyance as the two of them hiked through the rubble of the city, the spring warmth was particularly intense that day. Five rolled his eyes and told her to suck it up and reminded her that there were far worse conditions to be in.
However, Octavia caught him complaining under his breath about why he had agreed to this deal. She didn’t take his remark too seriously, she knew well enough that he wanted this just as much as she did. Their two years of respective solitude was gruelling and unforgiving. A small intrinsic part of Octavia was almost excited to be in the presence of someone else's company for the foreseeable future, especially since Five was just about her age and easy on the eyes, although she wouldn't admit that out loud.
After what felt like an eternity of walking in the spring heat the two finally made it to Five’s base. Upon their arrival, Octavia finally understood what Five meant when he said that his place was more developed than her own. Five had sought refuge in the remains of an old library. Octavia deciphered the battered metal sign that read ‘Argyle Public Library’. The building itself consisted of a circular concrete structure that had somehow withstood the end of the world. Although some of its brick walls crumbled down, leaving it exposed to the elements, Octavia could see where Five had so evidently tried to patch it up and make it liveable. However, half of the ceiling was open, meaning there was still some exposure to the elements.
Octavia stood still in awe of the building, it was almost metaphorical how this cylindrical structure had combatted the apocalypse and somewhat succeeded. The circular architecture reminded her of something from antiquity, like one of those marble temples you’d see in ancient Greece. Only this place was made out of concrete and brick and not elegant marble. It stood proudly amongst the rubble of the city and she was slightly surprised that she hadn’t come across the building before in any of her travels throughout the city.
“Wow.. Five. It’s incredible.” She said, processing it's shockingly decent state.
“It’s not awful. It was the only building I could find that was somewhat standing.” Five walked towards what Octavia presumed was once the doorway, now replaced with a piece of fabric that acted as a curtain.
“It’s impressive.” She followed shortly behind him as he drew back the sheet but stopped abruptly.
Five shifted his weight and turned to look at Octavia. A serious expression painted his face as Octavia shot him a questioning look.
“Before you come in there is something I need to tell you.” He said sternly.
“What is it?” Octavia folded her arms over her chest, eager to hear what the boy was about to reveal.
“I’m afraid I haven’t been completely honest with you.” Five confessed. Truthfully, the whole walk home he had been mentally debating with himself how he was going to approach this situation.
“Five, you’re being weird.” Octavia knew that being weird wasn't exactly out of the ordinary for Five but something about his sudden shift in behaviour had irked her immensely.
“I haven’t exactly been alone all this time.” Five stated and Octavia felt her face flush with rage. She recalled their conversation only two days ago now when the two of them shared their experiences about being alone for two entire years, only to discover that the boy had lied to her.
Octavia secretly hoped that Five was hiding some stray dog and that was what he considered company. Her anger would dissipate if that were the case, Octavia loved animals, she had been surrounded by them every summer she spent on her grandparents farm. There were the usual chickens, pigs, cows but the lambs were her favourite. She especially when the lambs had just been born, no older than a few days and her grandfather allowed her to nurse them a bottle of milk and run her fingers through the soft tufts of wool.
“What the hell do you mean?” Octavia spoke up as she pulled herself out of her own memory which began to cloud her mind.
Five didn't respond. He instead drew back the curtain and gestured for her to step inside. Octavia, although weary, quickly followed suit.
She had almost forgotten about his peculiar revelation when her eyes landed on the interior of his base. It was so incredibly fitting to Five’s character that she almost had to hold a small giggle back.
The base consisted of one large, open circular room. His mattress planted in the upper portion of the room, surrounded by stacks of books. The remaining walls that weren’t completely blown out were covered in equations, the very equations Five had told her about the previous day. Octavia tried to decipher some of the formulas but this level of mathematics was beyond intelligible, it could have resembled scribble to the untrained eye. On the opposite end of the room there were two more guns leaning up against the wall, much like the rifle he wore on his back when the two of them first met. Across every inch of the room were towers of books, some in better condition than others but there was an abundance of them. Octavia almost wanted to cry tears of pure joy when she saw them sitting just a few mere feet away from her. In the centre of the space was a table, she presumed it was once some grand wooden dining table but it had obviously been destroyed. She silently chuckled at the idea of Five trying to fix it, opting for a piece of metal to substitute one of the missing table legs.
Octavia noticed that on top of the table's surface sat a mannequin. She only had the upper half of her body intact and she was missing an arm. Despite her absent appendages she was in somewhat decent condition, only a few scratches and dirt covered her bald head and she was dressed in a black and white polka dot blouse. Octavia shifted her weight between her feet as she waited for Five to say something, to maybe make a joke or laugh it off, instead he stared at its plastic beady eyes with an almost longing look in his eyes. It was honestly the softest, most unguarded expression that she had seen in the two days that she had known him.
“I’m sorry I’ve been gone for so long dear, I know you hate it when I take off like that.” Five dropped his bag and rifle by the doorway and strode over to the table. He gently reached out a hand and began to rub the mannequin's plastic cheek.
Octavia quickly realised that it was neither a dog or another human person Five was referring to it was a plastic mannequin. She could only describe her as the type of mannequin you'd see in those cheap department stores with the uncanny faces that make you uncomfortable if you stare at them for too long.
“I know. I know. I didn’t mean to worry you.” He mumbled to the mannequin and Octavia was dumbfounded at his sudden shift in behaviour.
The tender and almost affectionate tone of his voice was completely foreign and seemingly out of character. She cleared her throat awkwardly, feeling as if she was interrupting a deeply intimate moment between Five and the mannequin.
Five looked back at Octavia before he gestured a hand to her direction.
“Octavia meet Delores, Delores this is Octavia. Our new roommate.” Octavia couldn't believe that the boy was introducing her to a non sentient piece of plastic.
“Are you telling me you’ve been shagging a mannequin for the past two years?” Octavia had concluded that this wasn't just an act Five was performing to get a rise out of her, he was being entirely serious.
“Don’t talk about Delores like that!” Five quipped back. His voice dramatically shifted from its previously affectionate tone to that of defensiveness.
Five found Delores during his first few weeks into the apocalypse. He considered Delores a real person, she was the closest thing to real which he could find in the debris. Her face was still mostly intact aside from a few scratches and Five was relieved to see something that mildly resembled another human being.
At first he just spoke to her in an attempt to keep himself sane, then he started to wheel her along in his metal trolley which he used on supply runs. Soon, Five wasn't exactly sure when but somewhere along the way she became Delores, it was like the name had just miraculously came to him and it suited her.
Octavia put her hands up in defeat, “Jesus, I guess you really did lose your mind.”
“Don’t listen to her, love. She doesn’t mean it.” Five said softly and Octavia rubbed her forehead in thought. Perhaps this was one quirk she would have to ignore in the name of survival.
“I swear to god Five if I have to hear you two getting it on.” She smirked at the livid reaction that spread across Five's face.

In Celebration of Fanfiction Author Appreciation Day, A Master list of all my fics:
Remember, if you like amy of these, feel free to leave some kudos or comments. If you wanna yell at me, it's your blood pressure. I'm just having fun because I own none of this stuff.
"He Sleeps with the Fishes: The Hoffa Job" (ongoing)
My current WIP and the fourth part in "Partners in Time." This features the assassination of famously MIA corrupt Teamster Union President Jimmy Hoffa. Look him up if you've never heard of him. He's something of an urban legend. On this assignment, our heroes venture to 1970s Detroit in order to "dissappear" Mr. Hoffa. Only problem? He's also being pursued by the Italian mob in the form of a couple of queer assassins, a mismatched pair of FBI agents, Hoffa's jilted lover, and somehow a sea monster? This features an established couple in Five/Lila. This fic also has some choice 70s music embedded in it. CW for violence, drug use, explosions, plane crashes, tentacles, car chases, a whole lot of exposition on the mechanics of time travel, and Five being forced to flirt.
"The London Job" (Complete)
This here is my baby and the third in my long series. It features the emotional fallout of Five and Lila finding out the true murderer of Lila's parents. It takes place on an assignment that takes our heroes to 1967 London, where Lila has been led to believe she will find her very much alive birth parents. Too bad nothing the Handler has ever told her seems to be the truth. This does feature Five/Lila but isn't explicit, does address Five being Ace/demi and also depicts a relationship between an actual 58 year-old and a woman in her 30s, so please calm down. It also features Lila's whole extended family. It's got some choice AJ Carmichael scenes if you're into that fish dude. CW for language, violence, some suicidal ideation, some racism, and a graphic surgical procedure. Great if you like hurt/comfort, some slow burn (but not that slow), and heavy angst.
"Dead by X-mas: The Santa-con Job" (Complete)
This is the second in the "Partner's in Time" series and is a holiday themed one-shot. It is an assignment of Five and Lila's that takes place during Christmas time and features the assassination of Jolly Ole Saint Nick (not really). Features drunken shenanigans, strippers, baseball bats, Lila being brought up Jewish, and Mariah Carey. CW for some misogyny and violence. Great if you want something light and ridiculous.
"The Best of the Best" (Complete)
This here is the first in my long series, "Partners in Time." It's an AU in which the premise is: what if Five had to have a partner at the Commission, and what if that partner was none other than Lila Pitts? This fic is pure platonic temporal assassin chaos, featuring such unbelievable things as murder, mayhem, nazis, werewolves, and friendship. It's great if you're looking for some Five & Lila feels. It's also a story that features old Five, as does the series as it stands. This fic expands upon the Commission lore as well as features such things as Five being Ace, Lila being bi, her upbringing by the Handler, Five's PTSD, Lila's powers, Five's relationship with Delores, Lila's and Five's commonalities, and their ever present mental health issues. CW for implied rape/molestation, lots of swearing, violence, animal torture, torture in general, child experimentation, and lots of arguing.
"New Timeline, New Me" (Complete)
The first fic I ever wrote outside of a creative writing class, and the first thing I've ever published on ao3. This story is my explanation for the fact that the actor who plays Five, Aiden Gallagher, obviously has aged over the course of the series. It's also my interpretation of some of Victor's thoughts and feelings just before he comes out as trans to his family. Great if you love all the Brellies and some siblings feels.

“You say decoration, I say attack on my poor eyes.”
Fanfiction Advent Calender Day 18: Fivelores
(FYI this takes place in my AU where Delores the mannequin still exists, but her personality was basically Five fantasizing that he was with a friend he had; a girl he met after a mission, who was like him and had telepathic powers. After he convinced her not to try to get into the Umbrella Academy, they got close and probably would have gotten together if Five hadn’t gotten stuck in the future. Basically, this fic is in the universe but not necessarily in the timeline.)
...
Five had never imagined he would end up living past 25, being a teenage superhero risking his life daily, much less that he would end up having an actually happy life as a 35-year-old.
Well, technically, he was a lot older than that, but after jumping himself and his siblings back in time and back to 2019 again, his body was now as old as any of his siblings’.
In this body, Five lived on a farm in a small town, where the skies weren’t covered by clouds of ashes and he could see the stars. He kept in contact with his siblings, and since none of the others really had the room, they all dropped whatever they were doing and came out with their significant others and kids if they had any for the holidays.
So far, Allison always brought a 9-year-old Claire, Klaus and Dave (who they’d brought back from his time before he died) brought their two boys, and Diego and Eudora (who had also been saved) were still denying that they wanted kids even as they played with the others’ kids whenever they could.
Also, Vanya was planning to bring her new girlfriend this year, Luther was bringing his girlfriend, and Ben was bringing his dog.
“Five, what the hell is this?!”
Oh, yeah, that little detail.
“What the hell is what?” Five shouted back, heading into the house to meet his soon-to-be fiancé, a woman he’d been dating... well, pretty much since they were thirteen, but officially for the last 5 years.
He found Delores standing in their living room, staring at a stocking Five had made and put over the fireplace.
“This,” the redhead said, turning around to face him.
“I call that a decoration I made,” Five said, “When I was 5.”
“No, you didn’t. Your dad wouldn’t have allowed it.”
“Fine, I made it a week ago. You don’t like it?”
“It looks like Santa Claus threw up all over an oversized sock.”
Five swatted her upside the head before throwing his arm around her, “Lor, it’s a perfectly good Christmas decoration.”
“Hmm,” Delores mused, leaning into Five’s hold, “You say decoration, I say attack on my poor eyes.”
Five gave his girlfriend a shove, and she giggled in a way that really wasn’t like her, but was nice to hear.
He didnt remember a time when either of them had been this happy, and considering they sometimes actually shared memories through accidental telepathic intrusion on dreams, Five knew what he was talking about. He loved arguing with her. That was just how they worked, being the only ones smart and witty enough to really challenge each other.
Despite the fact that Delores hated losing arguments, she did let Five leave the stocking up.

Time and Chase
Pairing: Five Hargreeves x Fem! OC
Author's Note: Hello and welcome. This is a major throwback but we are kicking off my TUA series of fics all the way from season one so that this story actually makes sense. Or about as much sense as it can be. I will be posting daily. *Please note that I am well aware that Elliot Page portrays Viktor, but due to season one being before his transition, that is why his character is still Vanya. I am not deadnaming him and I sincerely hope I don't come across as such. I will transition when I write season three.*
Warnings: mentions of blood, cursing, and violence.

Extra Ordinary
~ * ~
On the first day of October, 1989, forty-three women around the world simultaneously gave birth. None of the women showed any prior signs of pregnancy. Sir Reginald Hargreeves, eccentric billionaire and playboy adventurer, made it his personal mission to find and adopt as many of these children as possible.
He got seven of them.
~ * ~
The next morning, after Five very briefly explained what he was up to last night, Karina was stitching his arm up.
"So, you're telling me…hold still!" Karina instructed, wincing slightly when Five hissed in pain. "That you decided to risk your life by blinking into a store during closing hours just so you could steal a mannequin?"
"Delores was our friend and she even asked to be your maid of honor. I couldn't just leave her there. She helped us before, she can help us again," Five remarked.
Karina held back from rolling her eyes. "I am aware she was your companion for the first five years of being alone in the apocalypse, but, you could have been smarter about this. Or at least not have gone alone."
"And risked your life instead? No way. Hazel and Cha-Cha are ruthless, as you can see."
"Yeah, well, sooner or later you're going to need more help," Karina finished stitching his wound up and cleaning up the excess blood. She put a bandaid over it and gave his cheek a kiss.
He faintly blushed. "Thanks. Speaking of help, you can help me watch the guy from the prosthetic office. I want to know what that son of a bitch is up to. Consider it a couple's field trip, dear," Five stood up to put a clean uniform on.
Karina turned around so he could get changed. "How exciting," she flatly sighed.
Once he was ready, he slung his backpack on and opened the window so the two could get out through the fire escape. Little did they know someone was busily dumpster diving below.
"Damn it, where's Dad's stuff?" Klaus groaned.
"Can we go see a movie or something? Or the ocean?" Ben Hargreeves asked.
Though Five and Karina had no clue Ben was there, they could hear Klaus rummaging around.
"Shut up! I'm trying to find whatever…priceless crap was in that priceless box so that Pogo will get off my ass!" Klaus snapped as Five and Karina climbed down the ladder.
"I'd ask what you're up to, Klaus, but then it occurred to me…I don't care," Five paused.
"Hey!" Klaus laughed. "You know there are easier ways out of the house, buddy?" he watched as Five landed on the ground before helping Karina down.
"This one involved the least amount of talking. Or so I thought," Five took her hand into the crook of his arm.
"Hey, hey, hey, so. You need any more company today? Besides the wifey? I could, uh…clear my schedule," Klaus took a drink out of the flask in his hand.
Five eyed him warily. "Looks like you've got your hands full."
"Oh, this? No, no. I can do this whenever. I'm just…" Klaus suddenly fell into the dumpster and there was a clatter. "I just misplaced something. That's all. Oh! Found it! Thank God!" Klaus popped back up with a half eaten doughnut in his hand. He sighed and took a bite, gulping. "Delicious."
Karina watched him in partial disgust as Five rolled his eyes. "I'm done funding your drսg habit." He gently led Karina off.
"Come on! You don't-maybe I just wanna hang out with my brother and my sister-in-law!" Klaus looked at Ben. "Not you." He saw Five and Karina climb into a van. "Mi hermano! I love you! Even if you can't love yourself!"
The car doors slammed shut and the engine started before the van took off. A couple of blocks down, Five parked the van in an alley, out of view.
"This isn't suspicious at all," Karina dryly observed.
"He can't see us," Five retorted, watching Lance walk towards the building. "Oh, shit. Hey." He sighed, taking out a mannequin in a polka dotted blouse from his backpack. "Sorry you were in there for so long, Delores."
Karina eyed him.
"No, I'm not drunk. I'm working. Yes, it's about the eye thing. This is the place it was made. Or…will be made," Five sighed. "We just have to wait." He looked at Karina. "Rina's here, too. I'm sure she's happy to see you as well."
"Yup. Hi Delores," Karina greeted casually as she pulled a book out and began reading.
~ * ~
Five was busy studying his surroundings when he frowned, noticing white flakes beginning to drift down from the sky.
"No," he muttered, getting out of the van to see that everything around him were in ashes. He frantically looked around. "No! Rina! Guys! Rina! Where are you?"
"Five," Luther's voice distantly called. "Five!"
"Five, what's going on?" Karina's voice echoed as Five looked back at the van.
"Rina?" he drew out fearfully, wondering where she was.
"Hey, Five!" Luther sounded with a knock.
"No!" Five screamed.
"Five!" Luther shot Five out of his flashback.
Five jumped, feeling Karina's gentle hand on his shoulder. He weakly gave her a smile as the two watched Luther struggle to get into the passenger seat of the van.
"You okay?" Luther asked his brother.
"You shouldn't be…how did you find us?" Five was exasperated.
"Oh. Um…" Luther glanced back and so did Five and Karina.
"Hey, baby…" Klaus was pretend swaying with Delores. "Hey, a little privacy, guys. We're really hitting it off back here." He screamed as Five chucked an empty cup at him.
"Get out!" Five yelled. "You can't be here! We're in the middle of something!"
He turned back to Luther.
"Any luck finding your one-eyed man?" Klaus whispered, joining the three.
"No," Karina replied.
"What's he talkin' about?" Luther frowned.
"Does it matter? It's Klaus," Five sighed. "What do you want, Luther?"
"Um…so, Grace may have had something to do with Dad's death. So I need you to come back to the academy, all right? It's important."
"'It's important.' You have no concept of what's important," Five remarked and Karina nudged him.
"Hey! Did I ever tell you guys about the time I waxed my ass with chocolate pudding?" Klaus interrupted the tension, causing Five to wrinkle his nose and look away as Karina cringed in disgust. Luther was just lost as Klaus laughed. "It was so painful."
"What are you still doing here?" Luther questioned him.
"Ay, ay, ay…what? I…what? I need an excuse to hang out with my family?" Klaus returned.
"We're trying to have a serious conversation."
"What, and I'm incapable of being serious? Is that what you're saying?"
"Luther's got a point, you should get out," Five agreed.
Klaus was in disbelief. "What? Fine! I get it. The wife gets to stay but the weirdo brother doesn't!" he ranted before exiting the van and slamming the door shut.
"Do you really think kicking him out was a good idea?" Karina raised an eyebrow.
"Yes. What the hell are you two up to?" Luther demanded as Karina went back to reading her book, wanting nothing to do with the current conversation.
Five was casual. "You wouldn't understand."
"Try me. Last I checked, I'm still the leader of this family," Luther tried to impose authority.
"Well, last I checked, I'm 28 years older than you and Rina is your sister-in-law, so don't pull that shit on her," Five shot back.
"You know what your problem is?" Luther eyed him.
"Really hoping you'll tell me," Five rolled his eyes.
"You think you're better than us. You always have. Even when we were kids," Luther sighed. "But the truth is, you're just as messed up as the rest of us. We're all you have. And you know it."
"I have Rina, so no, you are not all I have. Disregard her again and I'll send your ass back to the moon. Besides, I don't think that I'm better than you, Number One. I know I am," Five bit out with a rather bitter chuckle. "I've done unimaginable things, things you couldn't even comprehend."
"Right," Luther dismissed.
"Just to get back here and save you all," Five finished coldly.
"Hey, bitches!" Klaus suddenly caught their attention with his arms full of stolen snacks as he ran past the van.
A police officer blew his whistle, chasing Klaus. "You, get back here!"
"Out of the way, asshоlе!" Klaus shouted.
"Now I'm starting to wonder if that was the wisest decision," Five commented as another car's tires squealed and Klaus ran into an incoming taxi.
Karina took her chance by casually leaning on the back edge of his seat. "I normally don't say this but: I told you so," she smugly shot and he gave her a look for it.
~ * ~
It was nighttime now. Five, Karina, and Delores were still in the van, watching for Lance to make an appearance. Karina was asleep in the passenger seat and Five debated if he should just take her back to his room where she'd be more comfortable.
"You know, you don't have to tell me that. I know there are only six days left. Yeah, you got a better idea?" Five scoffed at Delores. "Okay, then." He looked out and saw Lance leave the building with a bag in his hand. He gently shook Karina awake.
"What?" she groaned and he pointed to Lance.
"There's our guy."
Lance went over to a car approaching him. He opened the car door, slipping the bag in and subtly hiding a folder in his coat.
"What the hell is he up to?" Five muttered.
"Beats me," Karina yawned.
He glanced at her. "Do you need me to take you home so you can rest?"
"I'd really prefer to stay with you."
"Are you sure?"
Karina nodded but she yawned again.
"Yeah, no. You're going to bed," Five scooped her up and blinked into his room.
"You need your sleep, too," Karina argued as he laid her down on his bed.
"Later. First I want to figure out what that Lance guy is up to," Five tucked her in. "I'll be back."
"Five, wait-" she reached for him but he blinked out, leaving her alone. She groaned and rolled her eyes, deciding it was no use to follow him. So, she ended up falling back asleep.
Bang!
A shot fired woke Karina up from a sound sleep. She cursed, throwing the covers off of her. She glanced at the hall to see a woman in a weird animal mask chasing Allison down the hall.
"Shit! Hazel and Cha-Cha!" Karina raced after them.
She quietly snuck through the house and heard more rounds, coming from the basement kitchen. Along the way, she grabbed a katana from the wall, as well as a spare knife Diego left.
Karina silently crept down the stairs, seeing that Allison was fighting Cha-Cha.
"You want to rumor this psycho?" Diego stalked into the room.
"I don't need to because this bitch just pissed me off!" Allison whirled around.
"We just want the boy!" Cha-Cha hissed.
"Oh. Well in that case!" Karina kicked the back of Cha-Cha as Allison kicked her a few times.
Karina blocked a few strikes with the katana, but Cha-Cha flipped and sent her foot crashing into her nose. She screamed out as Cha-Cha struck her clean in the side with the pool stick, probably cracking a rib or two and sending her to the floor.
"Karina!" Allison slid to her side as Diego whistled to get Cha-Cha's attention.
He started fighting her now as Karina groaned, handing Allison the knife she had. Allison grinned and sprung up, kicking Cha-Cha hard and making her stumble back.
"Get her," Allison handed him the knife and he threw it, stabbing Cha-Cha in the back of the leg as she tried to get upstairs.
Diego gently helped Karina to her feet. "Are you okay?"
"I've felt worse," Karina seethed angrily, wiping blood from her nose and grabbing her weapon off the ground.
"Come on," he almost growled as the three stormed out.
They went upstairs to find the others. Vanya was hiding from Hazel and Luther was on the ground near the staircase.
"Luther!" Allison raced to his side. "Come on, Luther, get up."
"Ah, you gotta cut down on that fast food, soldier," Diego helped Allison get him to his feet as Karina looked around.
Cha-Cha was upstairs, eyeing the rope that held the chandelier up. She glared down at the four.
"No!" Karina screamed as Cha-Cha stabbed the rope, sending the chandelier crashing down.
"Get out of the way!" Luther shoved Allison back and Diego dove off, taking Karina with him.
"Luther!" Allison cried as the chandelier fell on him.
Hazel and Cha-Cha quickly made their escape while Luther grunted and panted, slowly getting to his feet. He pushed the chandelier off of him, ripping the coat off and exposing what Sir Reginald did to him all those years ago: turn his upper body half-ape.
Allison, Diego, Vanya, and Karina stared at him in shock.
"Holy shit," Diego drew out.
Luther looked around breathlessly, before he ran away and rushed upstairs. Allison went over to check on Vanya.
"Did you know?" Vanya asked her.
Allison swallowed. "No."
Diego looked up and heard a faint, familiar hum. "Shit. Mom!" he raced upstairs to check on her.
Seeing that the two Commission officers were gone, Karina slowly and painfully made her way back to Five's room. She shut the door and locked it, making sure the window was locked as well. With the katana hidden under the bed and within her reach, she groaned as she sat down, clutching her side.
"Five, what the hell have we gotten ourselves into?" she mumbled, staring at her ring blankly.
She sighed, knowing she wasn't going to get much sleep tonight.

TUA Series Part 3: Luther
The Hargreeves Kerfuffle Part 3: Luther
The Hargreeves siblings x Hargreeves!Reader (Familial Relationship)
BG: The Reader is Number Eight. It follows how you fit into the structure of Season 1 and the family dynamic of the siblings.
This part follows and plays around with the scene when Five had just reappeared and all the sibling are in the kitchen in S1.
I have mashed up the information and some events from both the comics and the tv series.
The series will consist of 10 parts. Where the reader would have a focused interaction with each sibling. (Eg. After this part, it would be Luther x Reader, then Diego x Reader and so on! –Yes Ben is included)
WC: 1028
Contains: The Hargreeves being a mess. Luther being a piece of shit.
DISCLAIMER: I DON’T OWN THE TUA SERIES. THIS IS JUST BY A FAN WOULD REALLY ENJOYED THE SERIES AND WAS INSPIRED TO WRITE.

Five isn’t willing to answer any of your and siblings’ questions until he had something to eat. Which lead to the 7 of you following him into the kitchen. You were all huddled around the end of the table watching silently as Five gathers for food, blipping in and out of the room.
No one dared to break the moment, still shocked and processing that Five, looking a tad older than you last saw him at 10 years old, but a young looking Five nonetheless, is here right now. Still not exactly believing.
‘What’s the date? The exact date.’ Five asks.
‘The 24th’ says Allison behind you.
‘Of what?’
Allison’s brows scrunches together but replies regardless. ‘March.’
‘Good.’ Five nods and continues adding marshmallow to his peanut butter sandwich, as if his question was totally normal.
‘So…’ Luther clears his throat, voicing out the question brewing in everyone’s mind. ‘Are we gonna talk about what just happened? It’s been 17 years.’
Five huffs, ‘It’s been a lot longer than that.’ Bliping out again, this time in the pantry, no doubt looking for coffee.
Causing Luther to almost jump out of his chair ‘I haven’t missed that.’
‘Where’d you go?’ Diego asks, moving the conversation back on track.
‘The future.’ Five mentions matter of factly. ‘It’s shit, by the way.’
‘Called it!’ Klaus whispered. You pushed Klaus’ head away, eager to not miss out on anything.
‘I should’ve listened to the old man. You know, jumping through space is one thing, jumping through time is a toss of the dice.’ Five mutters, though more to himself. The tension in the room is so tense, that even if a needle were to drop, you would still hear it.
Unfortunately for you, you did.
‘get out of the way y/n! i don’t want to see your face anymore.’
Five’s final words came rushing back and so did the pain. It’s been years since the incident, and you’ve convinced yourself that you had made peace with it. But seeing Five back here, in the present, stuck in his teenage self.
Shaking your head, you tried to clear your mind. NO Y/N NO! He hurt you when he left. You shouldn’t fell guilty for him disappearing, it was his choice, his action to do what he did. Taking a couple of deep breaths, you attempted to discreetly brush away the water from your eyes. Which of course, the ever protective, Mr. Hero Complex noticed.
‘heyyy it’s okay.’ Diego whispers, wrapping you into a warm side hug.
‘Thank you Diegs.’ Leaning your head into his shoulder.
‘Wait, how did you get back?’ utters Vanya.
‘In the end, I had to project my consciousness forward into a suspended quantum state version of myself that exists across every possible instance of time.’
‘That makes no sense’ said Diego.
Five couldn’t help but roll his eyes. ‘Well, it would if you were smarter.’
Diego abruptly stands, ready to fight Five- Luther holds him back. ‘How long were you there?’
’45 years.’ That finally made Diego to stop resisting Luther’s grip. Five smiles into his coffee, noticing everyone’s startled face, he shrugs ‘ Give or take.’
Luther tilts his head, perplexed ‘So what are you saying? You’re 58?’
‘No, my consciousness is 58.’ Five points to his brain, then stands. ‘Apparently, my body is now 13 again.’ To drive the pint home, he flings his arms. The oversized suit jacket falling to his elbows.
Vanya looks to the rest of you, hoping to see to anyone else understands. ‘Wait, how does that even work?’
‘Delores kept saying the equations were off. Eh. Bet shes laughing now’ Five murmurs, for a second lost in thought. ‘So, heart failure huh.’
‘Yeah. That’s what the doctor-’ Responded Diego.
‘No.’ said Luther firmly.
‘Yes, Luther. Dad died of heart failure whether you believe it or not.’ You interjected. ‘How many times do I have to tell you this, there is no foul play.’
‘Oh yea? Then why is dad’s monocle missing? When we all know that he keeps it with him at all times?? Huh?’ By Luther is rising off his seat.
‘Luther calm down.’ Warned Allison but he brushes her off.
‘Humor me this y/n. Why were you here the day dad died?’ He was now jabbing a finger at you ‘More specifically, HOURS BEFORE HE DIED. CONVENIENTLY PRESENT IN THE SCENE OF THE CRIME.’
Before you could reply, Vanya beat you to it. ‘Are you daft Luther? Did you forget that y/n can SEE INTO THE FUTURE?’
‘I didn’t. But as I recall, you vowed t never step foot into this house ever again and cut all ties! YOU ALL LEFT! YOU LEFT ME BEHIND!’
At this statement, Diego let out laugh. ‘Left you behind? LEFT YOU BEHIND? We were all gonna leave this depressing piece of crap for a healthier life, you were part of it, Luther.’ Staring straight into his eyes. ‘BUT YOU ARE THE ONE THAT RATTED US OUT AND CHOSE TO STAY! SO, DON’T YOU DARE TURN THIS ON US.’
‘Heck yes you all vowed to not come back, but you did- because Dad had died. But don’t you think it’s suspicious that she would come here on her own accord early? Who knows what they could have talked about in his final hours?? She was even the one to inform us! Not mom, not pogo. Her.’ Not daring to break the stare down, Luther called out ‘There is only one way to know the truth…. Allision.’
‘NO, Luther! I am not doing that to my own sister, not after Claire.’
‘FINE, GUESS I HAD TO FIND PROOF THE OLD-FASHIONED WAY.’ With that, Luther turns his back on his siblings.
He pauses next to you and threatens. ‘I swear y/n, I will find out what you did and I would get Allision to Rumour the truth out of you, soon or later.’ On his way out, he had ripped the door out of its hinges.
‘Hmm” Five clicks tongue ‘Nice to see nothing’s changed.’
‘Uh that’s it?’ Allision crosses her arms. ‘That’s all you have to say?’
‘What else is there to say? The circle of Life.’

Henlo again! I was wondering if you could do A3 and B4. Five Hargreeves x Reader(Fem). I love your stories!
@kokorobean
Fandom: The Umbrella Academy
A/N: This is a platonic fic even though B4 is a romantic prompt. Also I’m not sure if Five’s doll girlfriend is Dolores or DeLores but Netflix English subtitles say it’s DeLores so I guess that’s correct?? I hope you like it!!
Warnings: drunk Five
Word count: 233
Prompts: A3. “Be quiet, they’ll hear us!” and B4. “I might be having feelings for you, I’ve had them for a while.” “Yeah right.” “I’m serious.”
Tending Five while he was drunk wasn’t a pleasant task. He was just grinning at you, making stupid jokes and acting like a monkey, and you certainly didn’t want your siblings gathering around his room, wondering what’s up with him.
“Be quiet, they’ll hear us!” you hissed to him and he just grinned.
“Let them hear us!” he shouted and you rolled your eyes. “I need to express my feelings to the one I love.”
You furrowed your eyebrows at Five, not knowing what he’s talking about at first. He was your brother, sure, but he had never expressed his brotherly love to anyone, and it was hard to believe he’d do that even when he was drunk. “Uh…”
“DeLores, I might be having feelings for you, I’ve had them for a while.”
You sighed, realizing he’s talking about his doll. “Yeah right.”
He pouted. “I’m serious.”
You didn’t bother to answer, wiping the vomit from around his mouth and pulled a blanket over him. “DeLores wants that you’ll sleep and see dreams of her. You’ll have one hell of a hangover at the morning so enjoy those dreams while you can.”
“DeLores, c’mon”, he giggled like a child. “Come sleep with me.”
But before you could answer, he had already passed out. You mentally prepared yourself for the morning, you already knew perfectly well that he would be even grumpier than usual.

Other Things I Have For TUA (Not Fics!)
(Not that anyone cares but I love this gif and will probably use it the most when talking about TUA)
Ok, so I already have a lot of TUA content on my blog. All of which my be difficult to find, or difficult to split up from my other content. My TUA Masterlist is only for fic type content (that includes written hcs or scenarios) so I couldn’t put all this stuff there. So this is why I have put it here, which is for everything TUA related that isn’t fanfic content.
But if you are looking for that, here it is :My Umbrella Academy Masterlist
I hope you like what you find here!
