At times when he’s talking and you turn to look at him, his brain stops and there’s audible error noise coming behind those eyes

Sometimes he stutters when speaking to you, especially if trying to be smooth but he’s doing his best

Actually, he's the hottest when he's not trying

Like he's driving you back home, music on the low playing all sexy and he's like clicking his tongue while leaning back into the seat

And that does something to your brain, breaks through the wall and surmises a point that this dude is actually kind of hot

And he's taking special care of you

He then turns and chuckles taking in your wide eyes

"Do I have something on my face?" he asks. "Or have you begun liking me, ____________?"

You blush and look out the window

"It's nothing"

He doesn't push further but secretly hopes to high heaven you do

Has told about you indirectly to his mom by asking questions about how people like to be wooed

Grand Romantic Gestures Can't Save A Relationship

I think one thing that Stolas and the narrative really got wrong in the episode is thinking one romantic gesture can save a relationship especially multiple times when the person does it out ignorance to what their partner really wants. A show that demonstrates this mentality is flawed is Mr.Peanutbutter and Diane's marriage from Bojack Horseman. Throughout the show they've had a rocky relationship due to how different personalities they have, she's an pessimist while he's an optimist. This causes their personalities to clash and do multiple insensitive things without meaning to.

One of the things that Mr. Peanutbutter tends to do is make grand gestures while not getting the point his third wife doesn't like those. Time and again he keeps forgetting this and it results in the big break up moment with the Bell room where he shows her the room she said she dreamed as a child but gets upset due her wanting to be a fantasy and not something she would be disappointed with if it was real. While his intentions were good, he still was ill-conceived in making it which resulted in Diana deciding that things were not working. While gestures can be nice, it's also the little things people need to take into consideration and how it can come off to those they are giving to them.

The same cannot be said of Stolas and Helluva Boss' narrative that treats this grand gesture of him releasing Blitzo from the deal and giving him a crystal as a way of showing change. However, it feels hollow due to how still ego-centric Stolas is about it. He still focus on his feelings and not Blitzo's and he thinks what he believes will make Blitzo fall for him. He gives him a pressured choice disguised as a free choice where he makes Blitzo feel obliged to be in a relationship because of this gesture. But Blitzo rightfully calls bs and says how all the time he's belittled him and made him feel small because of his species. And instead of taking it to heart, he cries like the manchild he is and tosses Blitzo rather than take in the fact that this gesture is hollow to him due to past behavior.

And funny enough I feel more sincerity for Mr. Peanutbutter because he actually is a real nice guy and not a fake one, but is a result of ignorance that is regularly called out because of toxic positivity. The show tries showing why his relationships fail because of this. Stolas on the other hand is coddled and babied for it because they can't imagine him being held accountable for anything. Blitzo is treated as wrong for getting mad like Diana and being given misconceived gestures based on what their partner thinks is what they want but not what they really need. Diana wanted lowkey stuff and Mr. Peanutbutter couldn't understand that, while Blitzo wanted to feel he was respected while despite Stolas saying he wants to correct things still refuses to admit he's never really respected him as an equal and mostly saw him as a fetish sex toy. Yet, Stolas is treated as a hurt nice guy that was entitled to have his feelings returned which would get Mr.Peanutbutter headed roasted if the narrative in that series did that. If people make on making those types of ignorant gestures then eventually that partner they have will get fed up and feel they don't really care for them.

A grand gesture can't erase the little moments of hurt and ignorance a partner has done in the past, especially if that gesture is a result of those little moments. It also makes the person feels obliged due to how grand it is. It's why grand gestures shouldn't replace the little moments all the time. Stolas can't make one grand gesture erase his abuse of Blitzo just like Mr.Peanutbutter's gestures can't erase he and Diana are not compatible together which has resulted in their turmoil. One series recognizes this method as toxic while the other is babying the perpetrator doing this. And funny enough Mr. Peanutbutter doesn't do it to be manipulative but he actually loves Diane but still can't understand her needs while with Stolas you see how he is a manipulative pos who only thinks he's in love but more has an obsession.

I saw a post recently where someone else analysed how Luz's love language is acts of service and Amity's is physical affection, and it got me thinking so in light of today's incredible episode I want to do some serious digging into Luz's feelings for Amity. This is probably gonna get pretty long but hey, these two are more than worth it.

I'm going to go through three key episodes for Luz and Amity's relationship so that I can properly illustrate my points, starting with Lost in Language.

First, I want to talk about how, despite the fact that Amity had been nothing but objectionable to her so far, literally all it takes for Luz to decide she wants to befriend her anyway is reading about Azura befriending Hecate in her book and seeing Amity reading to kids at the library. This clearly establishes that Luz is intrigued by Amity and willing to go out of her way to connect with her, even when Amity hasn't yet given her any particular reason to do so.

Next, let's talk about the manner in which Luz tries to save Amity from Otabin later in the same episode. This is one of the first times we see Luz attempt to be Amity's hero, as she chooses to make an unnecessarily dramatic entrance dressed as her own version of Azura, playing the role of the dashing knight come to rescue the fair maiden albeit not quite as gracefully as is usual in these stories lol. She even takes the time to doodle Amity being impressed by her performance too, introducing the idea that Amity's perception of her means a lot to Luz.

Finally for this episode, we get another example of both these things: Luz putting in a substantial effort to bond with Amity, and Luz wanting to impress Amity or get specific reactions from her. After impulsive plan to get them away from Otabin works, Luz finds the time to be a good even when they're running for their lives and actually manages to make Amity laugh which was an impressive feat at that point tbh, looking extremely pleased when her comment is received positively.

These next two moments provide a neat link to the next episode I want to discuss, Adventures in the Elements, so I'll cover them in one go. We see Luz's first Act of Service for Amity when she offers her the Azura book she's missing to show that she wants to be friends, and then when she meets Amity to get it back we see how important the gesture was for Luz. She's very eager to hear Amity's thoughts, loves it when she finds the fanart Amity drew, and in general it's just obvious that this was another attempt to impress Amity on Luz's part.

This only continues as Luz proudly proclaims that she's going to join Amity's class at Hexside, even winking at her in the process, and solidifies the significance of her giving Amity the book even more by suggesting they start a club to talk about it further. Like, seriously, this entire episode is pretty much just Luz being adorably excited to share classes with Amity and flat out learning a whole new spell just to make sure it happens.

The interesting thing here, though, is that Luz gets really nervous as soon as the twins suggest they all train together, enough to lie to them in a moment of panic, and then gets super embarrassed when she sees that Amity is also practicing at the Knee. This doesn't seem to make much sense since Amity is being pretty nice by this point and not at all mocking or condescending, and Luz has given up on trying to look cool to the twins by now too. But it actually makes a lot of sense when you consider that this is another instance of Luz wanting to impress Amity and worrying about looking inept in front of her.

There's also the way that Luz is just... so clumsy and awkward around Amity in these episodes. The girl knocks a book to the floor and falls off a rock just trying to say hello, for crying out loud, complete with stammering over her words. Yeah, it's safe to say Luz is lowkey crushing on Amity here.

Don't worry, because I saved the best for last. Enchanting Grom Fright is basically the culmination of everything those two previous episodes set up. Not only do we get two Acts of Service from Luz, with her offering to face her own worst fear for Amity with zero hesitation and then happily offering to go to Grom with her so that Amity wouldn't end up alone, but she also brings out some dramatic flair when she declares herself Amity's “fearless champion,” like a knight in shining armour vowing to protect her princess although she still hasn't got the graceful part down lmao.

Plus, there's the fact that in both of their Lingering Eye Contact in Close Proximity with Romantic Tension™ moments in the episode, Luz's expression is the exact same as Amity's, wide-eyed and curious like she's not quite sure what to make of what she's feeling. And that's even before she just full on starts flirting with Amity later on. I'm sorry, but those smirks and fancy show-off moves while dancing are not remotely heterosexual, Luz.

All of this brings us to their current situation: Amity is aware of her crush on Luz but thinks that Luz only sees her as a friend, and Luz is subconsciously flirting with Amity as well as trying to show off for her and be her hero but remains fairly unaware of her crush on her and thinks that Amity likes someone else. So in conclusion, teenagers are useless, but we been knew. Rather, the point I want to end on is that there's a reason why Luz and Amity were so in sync with such amazing chemistry during their dance when they weren't talking, and it's because they both have different ways of communicating their emotions but when they let their actions speak for them they were finally on the same page albeit briefly.

tl;dr - Luz and Amity are both crushing hard on each other, they just need to realise that the other has a different way of expressing their feelings and find the courage to be honest with each other. Amity's crush is more glaringly blatant, what with all the blushing and gay panicking and wanting to ask Luz to the school dance, but Luz's crush on Amity is also pretty evident in the way she tries so hard to impress her and often steps in to help her out with grand gestures, which she never does to anywhere near the same extent with any of her other friends.

A-   Activities: How do they spend their time with their s/o?

Soo-won is very busy attending to his kingly duties, so unfortunately, his time is limited. Still, he knows how important it is to show his s/o attention. When the pressure gets too much, he often invites his s/o for a walk around the palace garden. He loves meandering through the plants, holding hands with his darling as they discussing their day. It is a brief moment of respite in all his responsibilities, which he greatly adores. 

Most of the time Soo-Won spends with his s/o is at night. He will often slip into their bower--if his s/o isn’t already waiting at his-- for some much-needed cuddles. It is about as unguarded as Soo-won gets, lying in the arms of his lover as the weight of the world and his illness bears down on him. He just needs the silent comfort of his s/o holding him to their chest and caressing his long hair. 

B- Body: What does this character appreciate about their s/o? What part of their body are they most proud of, and in reverse, what body part are they ashamed of and how do they respond to their s/o gushing over it?

Soo-won loves his partner’s hands. He loves holding them, breathing on them to warm them up if they’re cold, kissing their palms and knuckles and fingertips. He also loves it when his partner is caressing him, especially his hair. 

As far as Soo-Won goes, he really doesn’t think too much about his body, either negatively or positively. He’s got so much else on his mind than to worry about physical self-esteem. He will get a little coy, though, if his s/o compliments any part of him. It’s not something he’s used to, and very soon it will become his favorite part of him simply because his s/o loves it so much. 

C- Cuddles: Is this character a cuddler? What is their favorite way to cuddle?

As previously mentioned, Soo-Won definitely seeks out cuddles at the end of his hard days toiling away in bureaucracy. His favorite way to cuddle is pressing his face into his s/o’s belly or chest while they run their fingers through his hair; it’s an easy way for him to relax and doze. 

D- Dreams: How do they picture their future with their s/o?

Sadly, Soo-Won knows his days are numbered, so he tries not to think about a future with his s/o because he knows the odds of them spending any significant amount of time together are slim. Sometimes, however, he’ll fantasize about an ideal world. He dreams about bringing Kouka Kingdom to its glory and then handing off the throne so he can retire with his s/o in their ancestral land. He wouldn’t have any children, because he doesn’t want to pass on the Crimson Illness, but he would adopt orphans, several of them. Living in peace among nature, far away from the toils or royal life--in an ideal world, that’s what he would want. 

E- Equivalence: Is this character the dominant force in the relationship, are they passive, or is the relationship more or less even?

Soo-Won isn’t a very domineering force, not in relationships, at least. He is very much content to let his s/o call many of the shots; he appreciates someone who is capable. He very much views relationships as a partnership that requires equal work, but many times due to his royal responsibilities, his s/o ends up taking on more of running their relationship. 

F- Fights: How does this character respond to arguments with their s/o? What would they fight about, and who would cave and apologize first?

Soo-Won can remain very level-headed in arguments. Oftentimes, it isn’t even really a fight. The only thing he and his s/o would probably fight about is if Soo-Won has been paying less attention to them lately. Soo-Won would instantly admit to that and spend a lot of energy making up for that fact. He hates his s/o feeling neglected, and knows full well that he can get too absorbed in his goals sometimes and end up pushing them away. He is more than willing to apologize for that because it is his fault. 

G- Gratitude: How does this character show their s/o that they are grateful?

Though he has little time, Soo-Won definitely tries to do little things to let his s/o know that he’s thinking of them and grateful for sticking with him. He’ll have flowers delivered to their room with little love notes, or plan surprise lunches or dinners in the garden for them. Sometimes he’ll just take the day off, despite his council’s misforgivings, and spirit his s/o away into town to just walk around. He will definitely buy them some pretty little trinket while they’re out perusing. 

H- Honeymoon: If this character had a honeymoon with their s/o, where would they go?

If he had to choose a place to go honeymoon, it would probably be the land of the Water Tribe. There are lots of pretty natural settings where they could spend a few days away from the triflings of royal life, lounging about. Of course, Soo-Won knows that he can’t run away from the throne for days on end, but it is nice to dream about sometimes. 

I- Insecurity: What is this character insecure about? How do they deal with their insecurities with their s/o?

Soo-Won worries that he won’t be able to achieve his goals before the Crimson Illness claims him. It is inevitable that his s/o discovers it, and once they do, they are the only person he opens up to about how much it weighs on him and how afraid he is that he will fail in his endeavor. 

J- Jealousy: Is this character the jealous type? How do they deal with being jealous?

Soo-Won is not the jealous type at all. He doesn’t have time to worry about it, firstly, and he has the utmost faith in his s/o. He knows that they love him and have no intentions of bothering with anyone else. Besides, if anyone ventures too near to his beloved, all it takes is a pointed look from Joo-Doh to send them packing...

K- Kiss: What does the character want their first kiss to be like with their s/o? How does it end up happening?

Soo-Won doesn’t think too hard about planning the first kiss. When the mood strikes him, he just gently tips up their chin and kisses them softly. It’s exceptionally romantic and will definitely catch his s/o by surprise!

L- Love Confession: How does this character first profess their love to their s/o?

Similar to their first kiss, Soo-Won doesn’t excessively plan out his confession to his beloved. He just blurts it out, probably while he’s just gazing at his s/o while they ramble on about their day or some other trivial topic. Just captivated how cute and wonderful they are, he just can’t help but say what’s on his mind. 

M- Marriage: How does this character view marriage? What is their ideal wedding like?

For a long time, Soo-Won views marriage as just a political tool and doesn’t really anticipate marrying. However, after being with his s/o, he doesn’t mind the idea of a permanent union (even if it may be cut short by his illness). He knows that it can be important to others, and if his s/o greatly desires a marriage, who is he to refuse? He wouldn’t want a grand royal wedding, however. He’d actually like to get married in secret, under the moonlight in the palace gardens with only a priest to know. They’ll exchange vows, rings, and a kiss under the stars. He doesn’t need the world to know how deep in love they are, just the two of them. 

N- Nicknames: What does this character like to call their s/o?

Soo-Won isn’t really a pet name person, but when he gets into an especially affectionate mood, he may call his s/o things like “darling” or “my love.” He tries not to call his s/o pet names in front of others to keep a poised appearance, but when they are alone, these tender terms come out more. 

O- On Cloud Nine: What is this character like when they’re in love? Is it obvious to others, or are they good at hiding it?

Soo-Won has to be good at hiding that he’s in love, because royal life can be dangerous and he would hate for someone to use that against him or his s/o. However, there are very subtle signs, like lingering gazes or soft smiles in his s/o’s direction and a hint of protectiveness. It takes a trained eye to know that Soo-Won has feelings for someone. 

P- PDA: Does this character like PDA? If so, what kinds of things do they do in public to show off their s/o?

Again, Soo-Won must be careful what he does with his s/o in public. He doesn’t really do PDA; he prefers to do such things behind closed doors. However, that isn’t to say that he doesn’t like to show off his s/o. Anytime he can, he loves to show them off in meetings or other public relations events, hanging on their arm and showering them in praise and affection. These are rare moments he can be more open about his s/o, and he treasures those moments. 

Q- Quirks: What random traits or quirks does this character have that positively affect the relationship?

Soo-Won is very smart, so he can read his s/o like a book. He knows when they’re upset or hiding something, which allows him to work things out with his s/o quickly when something is wrong. This also gives him a trained eye to know when his s/o wants something, so it is very often that he turns up with a surprise gift... 

R- Romance: Is this character a hopeless romantic, or a bit on the low-key side? Are they cliché when it comes to romantic gestures, or can they get a little bit creative?

Soo-Won is a bit on the lowkey side, but only out of necessity. He tries to perform many little gestures for his s/o since he can’t risk grand displays of affection. Still, he does what he can to keep his s/o appreciated and happy. 

S- Secrets: Are there any secrets they hide from their s/o? If so, how do they deal with it when those secrets finally come out?

Naturally, the Crimson Illness is kept a secret from Soo-Won’s s/o for as long as possible. Of course, it is inevitable that they learn of it, witnessing one of his fits. There’s no use hiding it, so Soo-Won tells them, though this now makes them as much a prisoner as everyone else who knows. Of course, if his s/o truly loves him, they are willing to work just as hard to find a cure for his condition and protect his secret. 

T- Thrill: Does this character prefer routine in their relationship, or do they like to shake things up every once in a while?

Soo-Won uses his relationship to break the hum-drum of royal life, so there is a lot of spontaneity. He likes to surprise his s/o with gifts or outings; their delighted smile is like fuel for him, energizing him for the tasks at hand when he inevitably has to return to them. 

U- Understanding: Is this character level-headed and empathetic toward their partner, or do they sometimes have trouble figuring them out, which leads to some butting heads?

Again, Soo-Won is very observant, so many times he is very able to read his partner and thus empathize with them. Every once in awhile, exhaustion will cloud his judgment and he will have some difficulty doing so. Sometimes his s/o will have to be patient with him, but it won’t lead to butting heads because Soo-Won will be quite honest with his s/o about the fact that he’s weary. 

V- Value: How does this character value their relationship with their s/o? How does it hold in comparison to their goals, ambitions, etc.?

Soo-Won’s s/o is very important to him, but they do come second to his desires to bring Kouka Kingdom to glory. He has devoted his life to that endeavor, and though he does love his s/o very much, he is willing to make sacrifices to ensure he does what he set out to do. Everything else, though, does come second to his s/o. 

W- Wild Card: Any random fluff headcanon that does not fall within the other categories!

Soo-Won loves massages. It relieves the chronic pain associated with tensing up during his episodes. He loves when his s/o relieves the tension in his muscles while they’re cuddling, gently working out the kinks and knots while whispering sweet nothings to him.

Soo-Won is mostly a “quality time” and “gifts” person when showing his affection. He values quality time the most since he is so busy, so any spare moment he has is spent with his s/o. When he can’t spend time with them, he is sure to leave little gifts to let his s/o know that he is still thinking of them even though he is busier than normal. 

Y- Yearning: How does this character deal with time apart with their s/o?

Soo-Won deals quite well with being apart with his s/o. Again, his royal duties take precedence. However, extended time away from them will aggravate him, and he will get testy with his council. Eventually his mood will sour so much that they’ll force him to go spend time with his s/o because they’re tired of dealing with him! His mood instantly takes a one-eighty as soon as he sees his s/o, and he will melt in their arms and eat up all the cuddles he’s been deprived of. 

Z- Zeal: Is this character willing to great lengths for their relationship? If so, how far, and how long does it take to get to this point?

Though his s/o must come second to his kingly duties, that’s not to say that his s/o isn’t important to him. He does not take threat to his beloved lightly, at all. He is very much willing to start a war over a slight to his s/o. It does take him a little while to reach this point, but once he’s in love, he is going to protect his partner no matter what.

Kyle in public, Stan in private. I think Stan in general is more likely to be emotionally forthcoming in private while Kyle is more likely to wear his heart on his sleeve publicly.

❥: who is more likely to plan something big for valentine’s day? I think their Valentine's would be more the nice-dinner-out-and-then-relax-at-home type rather than anything too fancy. Stan early on but he chills out on it later.

ღ: who is more likely to initiate hand-holding in public? Both. If the hand's there to hold they're going to hold it tbh. I don't think they're especially PDA-heavy, but they do hold hands or wrap an arm around the other's waist a lot. I think Stan in particular also has a habit of grabbing Kyle's hand and starting to lead him places when he gets a cause going that makes him have to go somewhere.

💕: who is more likely to make huge declarations of love in front of other people? Probably Stan but only to the end I don't think either is prone to it. Mostly I think if they're having problems Stan's more likely to do a dramatic 80's movie grand gesture and Kyle will get pissed about it being emotionally manipulative to be done in front of people, so it won't work and they'll end up fighting a little while longer until Stan comes back and they have an actual private conversation.

💘: who developed a crush on the other first? I think they've lowkey been in love forever but who realizes it for the crush it is, probably Stan.

💝: who spends more time (possibly overthinking) what presents to get the other? Kyle, but I think he'd only start after they hit a point where Stan gives him a gift first and he doesn't get one back because they're still in early/undefined stages of their relationship. It wouldn't even be anything big and Stan wouldn't think much of it but it'd make Kyle overly dedicated to getting the 'right' thing the next time around. Like if they got together late in January and Valentine's rolled around, Stan would buy a gift and Kyle wouldn't do NOTHING but would do something like, write a very thoughtful Valentine's day card that's much more poetic than Stan's, but he'd still feel like he short-changed things. Next gift-giving, Kyle would think about it a lot, narrow it down to a genre of item (sports, music, etc), then narrow it down to a specific item, then narrow it down to the brand, etc. He'd stress way more than it deserves because Stan's pretty stoked at Kyle just spending the day with him.

💓: who initiates most physical contact? I think this ebbs and flows but mostly centers around Stan. No matter what they do touch often in one way or another, even if it's like a hand on a shoulder. I think if Stan's generally happy and in a good mood he's touchier and if he's in a bad mood he's physically distant but not always averse to physical contact, it's just that he doesn't initiate it or really reciprocate it, which sometimes leads to Kyle feeling insecure and like Stan's done with the relationship but doesn't want to hurt him. Otherwise they're about even.

Both are pretty good at care-taking when it comes to physical ailments. Stan's better at care-taking when it comes to emotional/invisible ailments.

But by the time he says it they both already know and they've probably felt like they're in love before they even started dating and just avoided saying it to keep from seeming too intense.

MARK :: oh, where do i start with mister absolutely fully capable? mark is the definition of adorkable. if you look up that word in the dictionary, you’re gonna see his picture pasted right under it. he’s endearing and awkward, and he tries his best in everything and puts his best foot forward, giving 110% in whatever he does. he’s a hard worker and a good boy. he laughs at that’s what she said jokes, and he’s the type of person to think of a funny joke from three days ago and start laughing at the most inappropriate time, like in the middle of standard testing. he’ll say things he thinks are funny, like “five guys hello guys” or that long sentence about possibilities and immediately look to you with those wide doe eyes, seeking a positive reaction from you and hoping you’ll laugh. he’ll try to wink at you randomly sometimes, but he always fails and just ends up blinking, which will make you laugh and call him cute and have him scrunching up his nose because that’s not what he intended to happen and he’ll be really flustered at the compliment. he’s really sweet, and I think taeil called him the most romantic? however, I feel like having a relationship isn’t a high priority for him right now. he seems to have workaholic tendencies, which could frustrate his s/o. he would need to have someone that understands his work and music is the most important to him, and he might unintentionally neglect checking up with his s/o at times. he’s a little shy and introverted, so it might be hard for him to make a first move if you aren’t friends at first. he’ll write dozens upon dozens of songs about you. that’s the way he’ll express his affection because he’s too shy to in the beginning and music is what he’s good at. there will be lots of late nights with him strumming his guitar and you sitting next to him, reading a book or playing a game on your phone, and he’ll call your name and you look up before he nervously starts to play a new song that he’s written for you. and at the end of the song, he’ll glance up at you really quickly before looking back down at his guitar, and you’re going to have to go over to him and take his face into your hands softly and tell him his song was amazing and you love it as much as you love him. and he’ll smile so big as his glasses slide down his nose before he quickly leans up and presses the softest kiss against your mouth to show you his appreciation before he loses courage to do so. sometimes you steal those round rimmed glasses of his and try them on yourself, and mark has to cover his face and look away and wring his hands and he makes those little oi mark noises because you look so cute and he doesn’t know what to do with himself. on the other hand, mark is also very stubborn. it may not look like that, but if you notice the relationship between him and hyuck, hyuck is always the one giving in at the end. mark will absolutely not do something if he doesn’t want to do it. I do think he will go after something if he wants it, but he will hesitate slightly at first. he follows the rules a bit too much. he doesn’t seem to be the most fun person to party with either unless you get him to drink a beer because he’s a lightweight, but that also means you have to take care of him afterwards. also, he said in an interview that he doesn’t like rollercoasters or fast rides, but he enjoys the cotton candy at amusement parks lol but he did go on those rides in the end, but his head was down the entire time rip. mark gets easily embarrassed. it’s like in that video where they read tweets aloud and mark got super embarrassed when jaehyun read this tweet that gushed about his laugh, and mark just curled up into himself and couldn’t lift his head up and awkwardly laughed. he’s adorkable. please tease him and hype him up in this very same way just to get this cute reaction out of him.

RENJUN :: renjun is the one you can call when you have a body to bury and he’ll show up with the shovel. he’ll call you a stupid idiot, but he’ll still show up to help you. he’s the type that would come over at 3 a.m. if there’s a bug in your apartment and squash it for you after much complaining and telling you that he won’t do it. he’s fiercely loyal and caring. he took care of chenle when chenle wasn’t as proficient with korean and made sure he was doing ok and was always ready to translate for him whenever. he puts up a tough, ready to fight front, but he’s a scaredy cat and if you pretend to be a ghost (read: jisung), he’ll be scared shitless. you can see him get scared and hide behind jeno and hug him so hard when the zombie jumped out in one of those save dream interactive videos. he’s the person you can banter with and he understands dry humor and sarcasm, and I think he’s best for e2l story plot lines because of this lmao but he also fits the best friend role well. he will roast anyone with no mercy with just a few words. he’s artistic. he’s super good at art and has shared several of his beautiful digital drawings before. he’s the person to go to when you want to have long, serious talks at 4 in the morning, and as seen through his radio show, he will try his best to give you advice, even if he may not be experienced enough, but he is trying his hardest to help. if you read some of the advice he gives on his radio show, you can get a better sense of who he is as a person. he’s really insightful and puts a lot of effort into giving the best answer he can. also, he really reminds me of a little brother or someone I want to be best friends with because we can roast people together or talk about paranormal stuff. he just seems really fun to mess around with because he gives funny reactions. he gives off that younger sibling vibe where only your big sister can make fun of you, but once she sees someone else doing it, it’s not ok and she’s gonna go after that person for making her lil bro cry. in a relationship, he wants someone he can trust with his thoughts and interests, such as aliens, and while his s/o may not believe in them, he wants them to genuinely listen to him and not just brush it off. however, he will still roast his s/o into oblivion. it’s how he shows his affection lol. he’ll call you an idiot and cute all in the same sentence. but he’s really a soft and sensitive boy underneath his snappy, sarcastic exterior. he cried when they won first place for the first time. i’m sure he cried when ridin’ reached number one on the charts. he’s attentive and likes affection even though he tries to say he doesn’t. in that one weekly idol dreamie episode, hyuck listed who hated affection, and he wasn’t one of them. he’s a good boy, and underneath all his snarky comments, he wants to be loved and cared for. you can see how he got a lil huffy when jisung chose chenle as his favorite hyung lol he doesn’t express his feelings outwardly as much, but if you’re his s/o, he will quietly adore you in his own way while outwardly being that one snarky couple who banters all the time. he’ll draw pictures of you, secretly have you as his homescreen, or have a secret photo album on his phone of just pictures of you. he’ll complain if you get him a couple item, like a bracelet, but he’ll wear it 24/7 and refuse to give it back to you. he will absolutely lose his shit if he misplaces it. he’ll cook for you if you ask, but he’ll make a big show about fake complaining about it beforehand. I think he’s okay with hand holding and kisses here and there, but he won’t do grand gestures of pda because he thinks those should be more private and between the two of you. he thinks pet names are sappy as heck, and he’ll get terribly embarrassed if you call him one but he’d be like “that’s so gross and corny... but call me that again.” honestly, just tell him ily and his cheeks will turn so red and he’ll bury his face in his hands but he’ll say it back in the quietest voice and he truly does mean it with his whole chest.

JENO :: jeno is someone who fits in so many roles. his character is versatile in a sense. you can make him into a bad boy, the boy next door, your best friend, anybody. his humor is underrated, and he makes funny puns. he’s good at sarcasm and wit, like when he asked jisung if he thought jaemin’s iq was single digits or when the instructor complimented him and said his rap sounded like mark and he was like “oh.... that’s not good.” he worries about being funny. he mentioned losing sleep over it in weekly idol, so please tell him he’s funny and laugh at his jokes ): he really is funny, and i love his humor. jeno is really smart. he managed to rank 4th or something I believe in his school after cram studying the day before. he’s really self-assured and confident in himself, but he doesn’t show off or act cocky, yet you can sense the quiet confidence in him. he’s humble and works hard and deserves more credit than he’s given. he possesses leadership qualities and is a source of strength for other members. i think they said he was one of the cleaner members and when he’s drunk, he cleans LMAO he is into sports and gymming, especially biking. hyuck said that jeno’s bedroom has his and jaemin’s bikes hanging on the walls lol he also is really competitive, but not a sore loser type. jeno doesn’t strike me as the type who needs his s/o around 24/7 and prefers to have hobbies and space separate from his s/o. he’s laid back, but at the same time, still energetic and fun to be around. he’s still weird, but not over the top weird. jeno is insightful and kind, and he has stated that he’s very shy and timid before. doyoung likes him the most because he’s kind and respectful and takes into account other people’s feelings and listens well. he’s a good boy. he’s also really playful and teasing and plays well with others, like jisung jokes around with him all the time. I feel like jisung jokes around with him the most out of all his hyungs aside from chenle because jeno doesn’t get mad. i believe the members say he’s the only one aside from chenle who doesn’t get mad when someone messes up in dance practices. he cries when he gets angry. jeno is also really affectionate. he enjoys cuddling and holding hands and back hugs and whatnot, but he doesn’t overdo it. it takes a long time for him to trust and open up to someone, and you’re a very lucky person if he lets you see this side of him. he won’t force you to do anything you’re uncomfortable with. If something is bothering you, he won’t pry at first if you refuse to talk about it, but I do think he will eventually make you talk if he feels something is terribly wrong or if it’s affecting the relationship. jeno is driven and knows what he wants. he’ll give you space, but if you’re not what he’s looking for or if you don’t put the effort in as well and won’t open up to him, I do think he will move on. he might bottle up his emotions at first, but as the relationship progresses, he’ll be fully open to you and tell you everything. I don’t think he’ll be terribly affected if he’s rejected because he is confident in himself and able to brush it off. he knows his self-worth. oh, and he loves animals. obviously, jeno loves his cats because he has them even when he’s allergic. he’s the type of s/o who, if you mention you’re walking back to your dorm late at night after staying in the art building to finish your painting, he’ll show up with messy hair and his glasses in his sweats with a hoodie thrown on haphazardly and walk you back safely even without you asking. kiss him on his nose at random times just because you love him, and he’ll make that jeno trademark noise of confusion before giving you the prettiest eye smile that makes the moon dim in shame and nuzzling his face into your shoulder shyly. call him jeno darling or jeno love if you want to see the same reaction as before. it’s gonna be a total KO to his heart if you call him that and boop him on the nose with the softest kiss. anyway, jeno is the bestest boy in the entire universe, and give him all your love, please and thank you.

HAECHAN :: hyuck is so fucking talented. he’s good at everything: singing, dancing, rapping, variety shows, you name it. he was born to be an idol. he’s the golden one and excels at everything. he’s an ace, and he knows it. yeah, he’s cocky and brags about everything he does, but he actually has evidence and proof to back it up. plus, no one can stay mad at him for very long because have you seen how cute he is?? he’s a brat, but you still love him anyway. he’s good at sweet talking and getting what he wants. he plays a push and pull game, and you end up falling for him in the end. i know in fics on here, you often see jaemin in the playboy/fuckboy persona, but I think hyuck absolutely exudes this persona. he is able to read the room or a person and knows the exact way to act in order to get the reaction he wants. it’s hyuck’s world, and we’re all just living in it. he can have all of us eating out of the palm of his hand if he desires. i think he truly embodies the traits of a slytherin: ambitious and cunning. it’s every man for himself, and he’ll do whatever it takes to get what he believes he deserves and plays by his own rules. hyuck is so smart and intelligent, both in terms of brains and emotion. he’s absolutely brilliant, and he’s the type of person to ace an exam without even studying for it. I think he did very well in school, and he also beat doyoung in mental maths when they had a competition on weekly idol lol and he’s also street smart. there’s a reason why doyoung and taeil are scared of him and why they prefer to be on his team than against him lmao. I think hyuck is also a people pleaser though. he wants to be liked, and it’ll drive him crazy if someone calls him boring or shows no interest towards him. I think he’ll want a s/o who plays the push and pull game with him. he’ll playfully tease them a lot, and they’ll have to be interesting and able to dazzle him with their own wit and sarcasm. he, like renjun, is snarky and sarcastic. he likes to make people laugh and enjoys being the center of attention. he is super affectionate and rivals jaemin in this aspect. he thrives off of physical touches, hugs, cuddles, etc. he likes to cuddle when he sleeps, and I feel like he enjoys being the little spoon. he isn’t afraid of pda and will show off his s/o to the world with a loud kiss or back hug anywhere. he’s the type who would do that back pocket spin peter does to lara jean lmao. the two of you can laze around at home, while he plays video games on his computer and you can sit in his lap and he’ll do that thing where his arms are around you and his chin is on your shoulder. he’s a good cook, and he’ll cook for you, but he expects you to pay him back in kisses. his s/o might think he doesn’t pay attention to what they’re saying to him, but he does. he absolutely adores his s/o and remembers everything about them. he’s the type to surprise his s/o with their favorite flowers on a random day, and his s/o would’ve thought he wasn’t paying attention when they told him their favorite flower months ago. and please, please, please surprise him with flowers too because that will catch him off guard and you’ll see him blush and get flustered for once. it’s like when the dreamies first debuted, and chenle said hyuck was the best singer and he wanted to be like hyuck, and hyuck got really quiet and shy and flustered about it. however, he’d get really shy around his crush if they weren’t friends first. there’s that video of him returning something that twice’s mono dropped I think and he was so nervous before and afterwards. or there’s that time when he handed flowers to seungwoo and got so flustered as the dreamies teased him afterwards. also, I feel like sometimes people forget that so much hard work goes into what he does because he makes it look so effortless. hyuck works so hard in everything and puts his all into what he does. anyway, please appreciate hyuck and love him lots. he deserves to be showered in love and affection.

JAEMIN :: jaemin is like jeno in the sense that his character is also super versatile. you can make him fit any type of persona for your fic. jaemin is a sweetheart. his entire existence is love. hyuck said that he treats his members the same way he treats his fans in an episode of weekly idol before. he’s a really affectionate person as seen in the way he showers jisung with affection. he eats, sleeps, and breathes aegyo. you’re going to experience his aegyo a lot if you’re his s/o, so brace yourself. he even managed to make hyuck flustered when he kissed him in that recent reload era game video. he has a lot of love to give out, but he also wants the same amount of love in return. you can see how he craves for love from jisung in return and the way he gets a little upset when he doesn’t get it, like when jisung didn’t call him his favorite hyung. his s/o needs to be okay with being showered with affection and love, and they have to do the same for him. call him cute pet names, give him random kisses throughout the day, back hug him while he’s cooking, he will just absolutely glow and bask in your love. jaemin is good at cooking. he will cook for you, and if you cook, he’ll eat what you make with no complaints. it’s like that meme where person A gives person B a drink with salt in it, and person B drinks it all, and when person A asks why they did that even though it was salty, person B says it’s because they didn’t want to hurt person A’s feelings. jaemin is person B. he’ll also make you model for him and pose literally everywhere so he can take pictures of you because you’re the prettiest person in the entire world to him. he’ll make you his lockscreen, homescreen, hang up pictures of you in his room, all that jazz. he’s the one who buys couple items or outfits and makes you wear them with them. his entire Instagram account will be pictures of you or with you. however, he’s also petty af and nags a lot lmao. he complained to jeno when jisung said he wanted to eat bread at 3 a.m. and how he couldn’t go out to buy him any. he also nagged renjun in one of those dream vs dream videos for not having any questions about him, while all his questions were about renjun. or when he was sulking about jeno not knowing his favorite cartoon character. I believe he mentioned having extreme mood swings too where he’s either too quiet or too loud and out there, and as a s/o, you’d have to cater to both sides of him. jaemin is also an introvert. he’s very quiet and shy around strangers, but he’ll unleash his inner weirdness and loudness when he feels comfortable around you, and you’re in for a wild, fun ride. in that video where he and jeno were making cakes, he seems really hyper and wild. same goes for that video where they went out to eat, and jaemin was pouring soda into a glass dramatically. or when they played that dance game where you have to add onto the dance and copy the previous dances, and he added some random flailing motion and complained when someone did it wrong. or when he and renjun were paired up for that guessing game when they both had headphones on, and he started flailing everywhere and getting kinda frustrated at renjun for getting zero right. he’s a bit weird lmao. as his s/o, i hope you go along with his weird antics and have fun with him too! you also have to remind him to take care of himself. make sure he doesn’t drink that ungodly coffee drink of his or eat too much sugar. take care of him, love him, cherish him, and jaemin will be the best boyfriend ever. he might even set up a whole led light display for you at night declaring his love like he did for jeno. actually, no, he definitely will. he’ll do big grand gestures to show his love for you. he’ll fill your house with roses and press kisses to each of your fingertips with a different reason for why he loves you. he’ll continue to list the reasons for why he loves you for every star he sees until he runs out of stars, but he’ll never run out of reasons for loving you.

CHENLE :: chenle was born to be a star. he is so incredibly talented and picks up skills so quickly. it’s evident because he managed to debut after two months of training and he became fluent in korean quickly. he’s humble and gracious, and he’s the embodiment of that miss universe song: he’s beauty, he’s grace. he doesn’t flaunt his wealth, in fact, it only ever comes up because others bring it up. or he accidentally shows it off when he asks what rent means or when he tries to innocently rectify the situation, like when jaemin was like “oh his parents held a concert for him for his bday” and chenle was like “noooo no it was just to make a memory” on idol room lmao. the way he expresses his love is through gift giving. it shows in the way he told mark he’ll buy him anything he wants for his bday or when he gave apple watches to the 00 liners or when he immediately agreed to buy jeno a plane ticket to china to show him around his home. but he’s not trying to flaunt his wealth. this is simply how he shows his love. chenle is laidback and easygoing. he doesn’t care about jisung using honorifics with him, and he’ll go along with whatever’s happening. there’s that one video during mfal era where hyuck and chenle won the prize and hyuck was like “hey I’ll take the prize ok?” and chenle just immediately agrees and doesn’t care at all. but don’t get me wrong, chenle is super competitive. he wants to win, but it’s more about that feeling you get when you’re the winner, rather than the actual prize for him. he’s really into sports, specifically basketball, so i feel like he’d enjoy it if his s/o expressed some sort of interest in it with him. they don’t have to play basketball with him, but he’d appreciate it greatly if they listened to him talk about stephen curry or cheer him on from the sidelines. he’s affectionate. if you read my renjun description, chenle is the other one that hyuck said doesn’t mind affection from the other members on weekly idol. I don’t see him showing affection blatantly as much like hyuck and jaemin, but I think he loves receiving it. chenle obviously receives so much love from his family and is super close to them. he will love his s/o with his whole heart, and I hope his s/o will love him back just as much. also, I’m pretty sure he’ll love his s/o acting cute because his heart rate spiked up when jisung did aegyo on idol room lmao. I think he’s the only other extrovert in the dreamies, besides hyuck. I believe someone asked jaemin or skz hyunjin if they got close after the collab stage, and they said that they were really awkward with each other. however, skz felix and chenle became good friends! chenle is friendly and a people person. he thrives in social settings, and he’s a social butterfly. he’ll help people out of their shells and make sure to include them in conversations. he’s the type of person who would clear his throat and be like “hey y/n has something to say” if you tried to say something in a group convo and weren’t heard. he’s fine with being the center of attention, but he doesn’t actively seek out that position, like hyuck does. unlike hyuck, he’s not a people pleaser. I think he’s confident in himself, and he’s self assured and satisfied with who he is, so he doesn’t really care what others think of him. chenle is really playful. he likes to tease the other members and wreak harmless havoc lol you can see how he plays around with the other members, like in nct life where he just throws snow at jisung or scares jisung with a rubber chicken when they went to an amusement park in shanghai. he’s a thrill seeker. he loves roller coasters, shooting games, laser tag, etc. he gets excited over the littlest things, and he’s a naturally cheerful person who lights up the room and just naturally has people gravitate towards him. however, he has his serious moments too, and I can see him sitting next to his s/o behind the piano and playing something for them. but then, he’ll probably ruin the soft moment by slamming his hands down on the keys and scaring them at the end.

JISUNG :: jisung reminds me of high school puppy love. he’s curious about the world and introspective. he asked the fans to send him pictures of the moon because he couldn’t see it himself. I think he has a lot of deep thoughts and keeps them to himself because he’s introverted and nervous about sharing them aloud in case he’s not taken seriously as the youngest. he’s inquisitive and sweet, and he’s the culmination of everything good in the universe. he’s the one whom renjun talks to about aliens and paranormal things, and I believe he’ll want a s/o who will take him seriously on these things and listens to his concerns without teasing or making fun of him for believing in them. jisung is shy and gets embarrassed when he’s given compliments. there’s this video where the dreamies read compliments from fans aloud, and you can see how flustered and shy he gets as he ducks his head, has to pause and cover his face before playing with his hair as he reads through the compliments with the biggest smile peeking on his face. I think this is the cutest thing ever, and at the beginning of the relationship, if his s/o compliments him or does something cute, he’s going to react exactly like that. tell him his dancing is amazing, watch his fancams around him, tell him his face is nice to look at, etc. and you’ll see him get reduced to a flustered, blushing mess. the first time he sees you wearing one of his sweaters with the sleeves covering your hands and giving you sweater paws, he will combust and stutter and not be able to look at you as his cheeks turn red. he might just suffer a heart attack if you decide to casually call him a cute pet name one day. additionally, jisung is at that age where he wants to know what others think of him and he wants to be liked. I think this is the reason why he’s more hesitant about speaking up or voicing himself in an unfamiliar environment because he doesn’t want to give off a negative image. he’s also painfully shy, but he wants to make friends, which he explains on dancing high. because of this, he truly cherishes any friendship or relationship he has because it’s seen as something incredibly special to him. as his s/o, you’re gonna mean the world to him and he will value your opinion greatly. once he’s comfortable around you, he’ll be loud and talkative. jeno says that jisung talks the most at the dorm and he’s never quiet. jisung is also a lil shit lol, and he knows how to get out of things, like cleaning up after dinner by locking himself in the bathroom. he’s also a little lazy and probably not the cleanest tbh. he sleeps in jaemin’s bed or in the living room because he’s too lazy to go to his top bunk. he doesn’t listen to his hyungs and talks down to them in a playful way because he knows they’re whipped for him lmao. when the relationship progresses, jisung is going to act in the same, exact way with you. he’s a savage, and he will roast you in the same way he roasts his hyungs, like when hyuck wanted to go to LA with him for why not the dancer and he was like “you have to be good at dancing to go” (which btw, fight me, jisung, hyuck is literally the best dancer). he’ll tease you, hide items on the tallest shelf just so that you’ll call him for help, and smush your cheeks and call you cute. he’ll ruffle your hair and run up behind you and sweep you off your feet princess style just to scare you before carefully placing you back down or tossing you into the pool lol he may have complained about carrying renjun in that reload era game video, but he’ll give you piggy backs when you’re tired or carry you around if you asked. he likes playing video games and those block breaker game apps and when he loses, he’ll sit there and pout without realizing it. he does that little nose scrunch unknowingly, and it’s the cutest. he’ll like dates at home the best. he sucks at cooking, but he’ll try to do it for you. but it’ll end up with you cooking while he back hugs you, and you have to walk around the kitchen with him being a koala attached to you as you feed him bits of the food being made.

Lol I mean Hiccup has his fire sword and obviously would know how to fight with the weapons he makes/invents, and Anna literally just instinctively grabs a sword to protect her buddies in Frozen 2 and I mean we all really love Sword Anna anyways and also she PUNCHES A MAN OFF OF A BOAT so long story short yes they can both fight 52. What do they do for Valentines Day? Anna rents a rom-com and pulls Hiccup down onto their couch to watch it with her, and he kinda internally groans because he figures it’ll be something super sappy and cheesy and Anna will just be squealing with delight the whole time. Legit as soon as the first scene begins, Anna begins brutally roasting the main couple. Turns out it’s a really terrible rom-com and Anna rented it solely to make fun of it. Hiccup is like “aight this definitely wasn’t what I was expecting but I’m on board” Also Hiccup gets Anna like 3 boxes of fancy chocolate because...do I really need to explain? Anna gets Hiccup a particularly aesthetic floral arrangement for their kitchen table, something she knows damn well he secretly likes but would never admit XD 53. Who swears more? Anna, for sure. This tends to surprise people, but Anna is actually a notorious pottymouth when she gets comfortable XD Hiccup has a pretty big and borderline pretentious vocabulary, and so he tends to express his frustration in more...articulate ways when things don’t go his way. Like he’d stub his toe and just say “wow, I’d literally rather saw off my other leg than have to deal with this right now” while Anna, in the same situation, would let loose every curse word known to man XD 54. Who has the better comebacks? Hiccup, absolutely. His smart-ass comments to every conceivable situation on earth go absolutely unmatched. Anna can’t help but envy how he can almost instinctually pull out a near-perfect snide remark within seconds, whilst she, at best, thinks of the ideal comeback in the shower 3 days later. 55. Who would start a fight with another parent at a bake sale? I feel like Anna would seek out the most passive-aggressive, bitchy, entitled Karen and just wait with barely-concealed anticipation for her to say something super awful so Anna can just nail her in the face right in front of all the other moms Hiccup and their kids, meanwhile, can’t help but be awed at their wife/mother’s impressive Right Hook 56. Who reads buzzfeed? Anna. Hiccup keeps being like “you know half the stuff on there is total bullshit, right?” and Anna just shrugs like “who cares? It’s entertaining!” 57. Who is the hopeless romantic? Anna, good god, ANNA. After the whole Hans debacle I imagine she’s a bit more subdued about so openly showing this part of her personality, but at heart she just can’t stop being a romantic. Once Hiccup catches wind of this, he naturally makes a point of frequently surprising her with Grand Romantic Gestures and such, which makes Anna’s entire face go bright fuckin red as she cries out “NO STOP WHAT HAVE I DONE TO DESERVE THIS YOU’RE TOO NICE” 58. Do either of them know how to do a handstand? Nope! They’d both fall on their faces and it would be hilarious. 59. Who can rap better? I love the idea of them both being looped into a rap battle somehow and Anna just dreading it immensely because she figures they both really suck and then when it’s their turn Hiccup comes out and busts out the BEST, MOST SAVAGE RHYMES Anna has ever heard COMPLETELY ad lib and the poor girl just goes completely catatonic with shock for like 10 minutes. 60. Do either of them want to go sky diving? See initially I was gonna say Hiccup definitely would not because it would give the poor boy an anxiety attack, but then I remembered he basically skydives in canon??? And Anna strikes me as a bit of adrenaline junkie too, so fuck it--yeah, I think they’d both enjoy it. 61. What do they usually text about? They talk a lot about movies, games, books, and shows they both like, I imagine--Hiccup especially likes to overanalyze them to ridiculous extents and Anna thinks this is adorable. The rest of the time, they send each other dumb memes and talk about random animal fun facts. Anna likes to brag that her boyfriend knows more lizard trivia than anyone else on the planet, and how many lizard facts does YOUR boyfriend know? Probably little to none, you big loser. 62. Who is the dramatic one? Anna is INCREDIBLY dramatic. Although Hiccup certainly does have a “dramatic flair,” as he puts it, I still think Anna can out-dramatic him, at the end of the day XD Although perhaps admittedly not by much. 63. Is either one confrontational? Anna certainly can be. She’s usually pretty friendly, but if she ever feels like she’s being challenged, demeaned, mocked, or generally not taken seriously, she’s ready to go to WAR. She certainly not as soft as she might look! I imagine there’s situations where someone is being a dick to either Anna or someone else and Hiccup has to physically hold her back to keep her from just decking them XD 64. What is their favourite cuddle position? Probably just good old-fashioned spooning. Hiccup actually really loves being the little spoon (because Anna just makes him feel so damn safe), but he is loathe to admit it. They also have one I like to call the “Needy Cat,” where Anna just goes and completely drapes herself over Hiccup when he’s sitting on the couch. He’s usually in the middle of doing something else, and is forced to find ways to play video games/read his book/watch his show around Anna XD 65. Who are their favourite musical artist(s)? Hiccup has exactly 3 music moods--pretentious classical stuff (to listen to while working on inventions), obscure underground 90s hipster bands no one’s heard of (to play air guitar to when no one else is home), and some more well-known emo/alt rock stuff (to sing along to in the car dramatically). I can see him liking Panic! at the Disco, The Killers, Fall Out Boy, Linkin Park, that kinda stuff. Anna, meanwhile, likes the trashiest, most generic-sounding pop music and refuses to apologize for dancing to it in the car XD She is most DEFINITELY a Swiftie, no question. She also likes some “edgier” bands like Paramore and Hey Monday. She went through a hardcore Avril Lavigne phase in middle school and she still totally listens to her but is embarrassed to say it. Also I feel like Anna would be into 90s/early 2000s boy bands??? What are their parenting styles? Anna would probably be like...kind of stern, when she needs to be, but intensely nurturing as well, if her relationship with Elsa is anything to go by. Anna purposely listens to vulgar music to feed her hidden rebellious side and because it makes her feel badass XD She honestly kinda hates being written off as 100% wholesome and innocent all the time and will readily pull out the “I’M NOT A SWEET LITTLE FLOWER I SANG ALONG TO THAT SONG THAT JUST SAID FUCK SEE” line whenever given even the slightest chance XD 69. Do either of them have secrets even the other doesn’t know? Kind of depends on when in both their timelines they meet. If they meet in the middle of HTTYD 1 or Frozen 1, they probably wouldn’t tell the other right away that they have a dragon and an ice-powered supersister, respectively XD I definitely think they would as they came to trust each other, though. Also I read a headcanon that Hiccup has burn scars from the Red Death incident where he lost his leg, and that’s why he wears so much armor and generally long sleeves--and I kind of love that. So maybe Hiccup would be cagey with Anna about how he lost his leg and that whole incident for a while before he finally opens up to her about it. Other than that I feel like they’d be pretty honest with one another, other than maybe trying to hide the more embarrassing parts of themselves to impress the other person XD 70. Who is their go to couple for a double date? Jackunzel, obviously! They’d probably all go to an arcade or an amusement park or something else pretty fun and high-energy. 71. Do they tip the waiter/waitress on their date? I mean yes, they’re not huge assholes????? 72. How do they work out a fight? I imagine Anna tends to get more worked up and yelley and loud, while Hiccup doesn’t raise his voice much at all but can say some damn cutting things if he wants to. Since Anna probably gets angrier, I imagine she apologizes first, whether or not the fight was actually on her or not--it’s just kinda this girl’s default to apologize for everything XD She’d probably say sorry for yelling and probably overreacting, while Hiccup would also be EXTREMELY apologetic if he realized he crossed a line with one of his jabs at her. I imagine a lot of what they fight about is Anna doing some impulsive Dumb Shit^TM and Hiccup just being like “oh god DAMMIT that’s DANGEROUS you can’t just go WORRYING me like that!!!” and Anna getting offended because she kinda views this as him being a little overprotective and not trusting her to make her own decisions. Ironically, Anna occasionally also gets mad at HICCUP for doing Impulsive Dumb Shit, so he’s not always nearly as much the Voice of Reason as he thinks XD Hiccup also sometimes gets mad at Anna for not taking better care of herself (take it from a fellow ADHDer--we tend to Wallow in Despair sometimes, or straight-up forget to do basic care things like eat lunch XD)--I have an IRL friend who reminds me a lot of Hiccup and he’s ALWAYS getting on my case about not eating enough, not drinking enough water, constantly berating myself, stuff like that. I imagine Hiccup sometimes slips into Mom Mode with Anna when she gets in a bad spot, which she appreciates after the fact but kind of annoys her at the time because she wants really badly to be independent and all that. Basically TL;DR most of Anna and Hiccup’s fights can be resolved by Anna and Hiccup agreeing to next time Use A Brain Cell before they do a thing, or Anna agreeing to take better care of herself XD 73. In literally every AU possible I like to think that Hiccup brings home some variation of illegal pet XD I mean, it’s probably just a dragon (”just a dragon” is never a string of words I imagined myself using in that order like what do you mean JUST a dragon lmao) in a standard crossover timeline, which he basically does in canon, but I do love the idea of a modern AU Hiccup showing up to their apartment with some kind of weird exotic monitor lizard from Bali and being like “I found him in an alley, he’s gonna live with us now” and Anna is like “D: Is someone gonna arrest you???” And Hiccup is like “Nah, no cops followed me home” and Anna’s like “Okay!!! :D” and then goes to PetSmart to buy a big fluffy bed for her new scaled friend XD 74. What side of the bed do each of them sleep on? I honestly don’t think either would care much, and they usually sleep in a tangled-up mess anyways so by morning you can’t really tell who started on which side XD 75. What is their favorite photo of them two together? One from before they got together: I’m just imagining a big group photo with the Entire Squad (Rapunzel, Jack, Merida, Moana, etc.), and Anna has her arms laced around Hiccup’s neck and her chin on his shoulder and a GIANT smirk on her face. Meanwhile Hiccup is laughing and trying to push her off, but his cheeks are BRIGHT fucking red and he’s trying really unsuccessfully to hide it because he’s a pale boi. And she wonders why her ipod is always running out of space XD 78. What movie did they first see together? As of the Modern AU Hiccanna one-shot I wrote ages ago, Revenge of the Ancient Dragon Masters! XD If we’re talking movies that actually exist, I imagine it would be a Marvel movie, a Star Wars movie, or some super-fancy-CGI high fantasy epic. 79. What do they like to see each other in? You mean like...which of the other’s outfits would they find the sexiest??? Aight, I’ll take a stab at this. Anna gets literally SO fuckin thirsty every time Hiccup wears his dragon rider outfit (the one from HTTYD 2), like it shows off his cute skinny body in the most perfect possible way whilst making him look like a badass and oh how Anna DREAMS of feeling him up in that! (One day, she finally gets to! XD) She’s also very into the scale armor from HTTYD 3 when she’s in...a very different kind of mood XD As for Hiccup, his favorite outfits of Anna’s are probably her coronation dress and her queen dress, mainly because he loves how she looks in green. He also really likes her travel outfit from Frozen 2, mainly because it’s sexy AND practical and damn, he’s gotta admit, that’s a nice shade of purple and she absolutely SLAYS in it XD 80. Who makes jokes during inappropriate times? Honestly both of them??? Like neither are great at picking up social cues, and Anna canonically DOES do this in Frozen! (Remember her comment about ice-selling being “a rough business to be in right now”???) I can see both of them attempting to lighten a tense mood by making an ill-timed joke, hoping to make things less uncomfortable, and they end up making everything MORE uncomfortable XD Honestly sue me, I love the idea of these two idiots bonding over how terrible they are with social cues in general 81. At what age do they discuss the possibility of children? I imagine not til like...their early 30s, if ever. Like I mentioned in the first part of the questionaire, I actually am not sure if they would even want to have kids at all, but if they DID decide to, it definitely wouldn’t be until they’re older and have settled down a bit, and have (somewhat) gotten both of their lives together. 82. What do they love about each other the most? Hiccup loves Anna’s energy and optimism, and how she’ll basically cheer him on and believe in him with all her being no matter how high the odds are stacked against him. And oh boy does he LOVE how hard she can kick ass when push comes to shove, and how goddamn overprotective she is of him. The sword skills and the general willingness to punch problematic people in the face are definitely up there as well. She’s like the perfect blend of fun and badass, and there’s never a dull moment with her for him. Anna adores Hiccup’s connection with animals and general animal skills, especially with the more less-loved and “scary” of the world’s creatures (i.e. dragons lol). She also loves and admires the shit out of his intelligence and inventiveness, and wishes she could make contraptions half as cool as what he turns out. And, of course, she loves that he’s a pretty humble dude who's actually pretty insecure about his accomplishments, and isn’t some cocky guy wanting to shove them in everyone’s face. And, of course, she loves his sarcasm and his dry sense of humor, and few people can make her laugh as hard as Hiccup can. Hiccup is very detail-oriented--he has to be, in order to make any of his contraptions work! Anna is very much focused on the big picture and gets stressed and exasperated trying to keep track of details--she figures she’ll either sort through the details as she goes, or Hiccup will help do it for her XD 84. What would they write on their partner’s social media’s for their anniversary? One of my IRL friends wrote “Happy anniversary bro, you’re pretty great” on his girlfriend’s instagram for their anniversary, and she wrote back “Happy anniversary, you’re a good buddy, I love you” and I just XD That’s the EXACT kind of weird dorky nonsense I can see Hiccup and Anna doing for their anniversary tbh 85. Who is bad at math? Anna, bless her soul, needs a calculator for literally EVERYTHING. Hiccup kinda trained himself to be decent at doing math in his head, since he often has to calculate measurements for his inventions and whatnot, but Anna is absolutely atrocious at it and generally would like overly-complicated numbers to not be anywhere near her. 86. Who googles everything? Probably Anna, mainly because she’s pretty forgetful and doesn’t trust her own memory half the time so she feels the need to verify everything on the internet XD 87. Who does stuff on impulse? Anna 100% canonically does, although Hiccup has some shades of this too more than he would ever admit, in fact, for someone claiming to be the Voice of Reason 88. How do they comfort each other when they are helpless to do anything about the situation? Hiccup’s approach is probably just to try and distract Anna and take her mind off of it, which he’ll do by either trying to make her laugh, telling her a story, or explaining one of his inventions to her (which she never gets bored with btw, because everything that boy gushes about is fascinating to her <3). Basically he figures if he entertains her enough, it’ll take her mind off of whatever is freaking her out and she won’t fixate on it as much. Anna’s approach is more to accentuate the positives in a bad situation (although like I mentioned in Part 1, not really in a condescending “count your blessings, it could be worse!” kind of way, but more in a “I hope he’ll feel better if he focuses on happy things” kind of way, if that makes any sense?) and also focus on when Hiccup DID do great and utterly kick ass and tell him he’s always better than he thinks he is. 89. What is an inside joke they have? If anything, him calling her “Tiger” as a pet name (which I think I mentioned briefly in Part 1??? Can’t remember) is this, because in my mind it developed because whenever Anna is about to do some Dumb Shit, or punch someone she really shouldn’t in the face, Hiccup has to physically hold her back like “Whoa, slow down there, Tiger!” This happens so frequently that eventually it just gets shortened to him nicknaming her “Tiger” and all their friends are kind of baffled as to why XD 90. Who makes the other smile with almost no effort at all? Hiccup barely even needs to start talking in funny accents or imitating his dad before Anna is just DYING laughing. She thinks he’s the funniest damn person on earth. He honestly gets a kick out of her impressions too--she can do some pretty amusing ones, if that deleted coronation dress-up scene from Frozen 1 is anything to go by. So the feeling is mutual!!! They’re super good at making each other smile and laugh with little to no effort!!! 91. What is their favourite holiday? I feel like Anna especially would get REALLY into Christmas/Yule, mainly because of how much Elsa can spice it up with her powers. And judging by the OFA short, Arendelle gets very hyped for the holidays in general, so it’s probably hard NOT to have a good time. Anna probably also like Mayday a lot because the dancing, the spring cheeriness, and the flower-related festivities are definitely to her taste. Hiccup just likes the energy and general vibes, and would rather sit back and relax and watch Anna dance around and have fun XD Also dun best believe they BOTH get hella into Halloween, because they’re dramatic motherfuckers who loves to dress up, and it gives Anna an excuse to buy a shitton of chocolate and eat all the leftovers XD 92. She DOES tend to get destructive when she’s angry, if being ready to fight a giant-ass snowman and smacking a wolf in the face with a lute is anything to go by. I can totally imagine Hiccup being hyped up over that or some other super nerdy RPG game and being so enthused to show it to Anna, who just falls even more in love with him after seeing how EXCITED he gets about it. Of course he’s super eager to teach her, and TBH Anna has a really hard time getting it at first because DAMN these rules are COMPLICATED, but after she finally gets the hang of it, she realizes she absolutely LOVES DnD and RPG games in general (I mean...have you SEEN OFA??? Girl gets just a little TOO into reminiscing about her old play-pretend toys XD) and she and Hiccup constantly geek out about it together. 94. Who accidental sets something on fire? Doubly funny if this takes place in a Modern AU. 98. Who is the more social one? Anna! Hiccup generally prefers to either keep to himself or hang out with animals. 99. What are their karaoke songs? For some reason I feel like anything by P!nk??? Idk why, but I can see them like rocking out and singing along to p!nk songs together and getting really into it. Also basically anything by The Killers and, at Anna’s request, The Chainsmokers (Hiccup thinks this is very basic music indeed but goes along with it for her sake XD). AND “Whatever It Takes” by Imagine Dragons. And they sing it LOUD. 100. Who would get up on stage and make a fool of themselves just to make the other laugh? Highkey both of them??? I kinda feel like Hiccup moreso though, if his little comedy routine imitating his dad in HTTYD2 is anything to go off of. He definitely wouldn’t be averse to making an idiot of himself to amuse Anna, especially since she’s so damn cute when she laughs. Anna, for her part, loves returning the favor, and is all about trying to do all sorts of Goofy Antics to amuse her boyfriend. And she’s overdramatic af, so she gets WAY too into it XD

Even if he’s all about that physical affection   ---  and he is, he can be all over people sometimes   ---  he’s also surprisingly quiet about it. In tender moments, he’s happy just to share space with someone; being around them, soaking in their energy and observing their body language, is Runner’s most lowkey form of affection. He’s a people person deep down  ---  he just likes, needs to be around people.

B   :   BOUQUET.   does your muse like flowers? which ones are their favourite?

Uhhh  ---  yeah, flowers are nice. They sure do...  grow places, huh? He’s absolutely hopeless with flowers; he’ll pick a half-wilted bouquet up at the supermarket just to try to be romantic, and fail miserably when they fall apart before he can even get them home. 

C   :   CHOCOLATE.   does your muse like chocolate? which one is their favourite?

He has a hoard. Like a dragon. He’s stockpiling for the winter, and no, he does not want to share. (Give him M&Ms any day, he’s got a problem.)

D   :   DATE.   what is your muse’s ideal date? where / who with / etc?

He’s a movie theatre guy, honestly. He just loves the atmosphere of the place. Uncomfortable seats, popcorn to munch on, a good movie playing, and a room dark enough that he can get frisky with his partner without anyone seeing   ---  sounds like heaven to him.

E   :   EMBRACE.   does your muse like hugs? what are their hugs like?

Oddly enough, for someone who’s so liberal with physical contact, he’s weird about hugs! Mostly because he doesn’t think he’s good at them. When he gets hugged, he tends to fidget; and when he gives them, he’s never quite sure where to put his hands. Better stick to the friendly ol’ shoulder clap, buddy.

F   :   FLIRT.   is your muse good at flirting? how do they flirt?

Oh, he’s an inconsummate flirt. He’s flirted with grandmothers on the bus before  ---  just because it makes them blush and smile. Flirting’s something Runner has a lot of fun with, even if it usually doesn’t go everywhere. He’s got wolfish charm and he’s not afraid to use it.

G   :   GIFT.   is your muse good at gift - giving or do they struggle to get it right?

He’s hit-or-miss. While he really does try every time, his gifts are usually low-effort, something he can just pick up at the corner store. If he’s planning a grand gesture  ---  and, don’t get him wrong, he’s definitely the grand gesture type   ---  it goes above and beyond just a gift. He’ll get a cake and try to set off fireworks. Finding something just right for a birthday or anniversary...  is harder than just doing something for them, somehow.

H   :   HEART.   is your muse quick or slow to give their heart away?

Actually pretty judicious about it all. Runner’s been burned before, so he’s understandably cautious. If he’s going to give his heart away again, he wants to make sure it’s to the right person   ---   so he’ll keep things casual and superficial for as long as possible. The moment he really opens up to his partner emotionally, he knows he’s in for the long haul.

I    :   I LOVE YOU.   does your muse find ‘i love you’ easy or hard to say?

It terrifies him, honestly. He doesn’t know how to be that...  emotionally open with someone, especially not if he’s the one expected to take that leap first. It would be very tough for him to say it; he’d echo it if his partner said it to him, but it’d sound like he was speaking in a foreign language, until he gradually warms up to the idea of being loved. (Once he gets there, he’ll enjoy saying it at random times, just to make his partner blush.)

J   :   JEALOUSY.   does your muse get jealous in a relationship?

It’s not something he likes about himself, but he’s definitely got a jealous streak. It stems from a hint of insecurity, plus knowing the pain of being cheated on before; he doesn’t like seeing his partner cozy up to people who aren’t him. What’s wrong with that? He won’t follow them around or read their private correspondence, but if they’re out in public and he feels ignored, he’ll make his presence known.

K   :   KISS.   is your muse a good kisser? why / why not?

The sort of guy who grins into the kiss, and it’s sexy until his partner kisses teeth. He’s pretty intense; Runner’s taught himself to focus while kissing, and it works to his advantage in every way. He’s all about the feel of his partner against him, finding a rhythm that works for them both. There’s a decent amount of grinding, but he’s sparse with touches  ---   one hand grazing his partner’s back, another hovering over their waist before switching just as quickly to their ribs. He riles his partner up through sensation alone, stirring them up with touches and eager caresses until they’re practically moaning into the kiss. (By that point, he can’t help grinning, but they’re usually in too deep for it to kill the mood.)

Runner’s loyal to his friends to a fault. He won’t just throw down for them, he’d take a bullet for them without question. Coming from a big family, he’s just as ride-or-die for all his siblings. It might be covered under a thick layer of salt, but Runner’s got a big heart, and loyalty is his best trait.

M   :   MOONLIGHT.   is morning or night a more romantic setting?

He’s all about nighttime. There’s so many things to do, places to do them in, and shadows to keep anyone else from noticing them doing ‘em.

N   :   NAUGHTY.   what is your muse like in bed?

A bit of a tease in bed, but switches gears very easily   ---   one moment he could be nipping at his partner’s collar to make then laugh, the next his eyes are pitch black and he’s captured his partner’s gaze like he’s never going to let them go. Runner is boundlessly energetic in bed, but knows how to pace himself   ---   he likes to go as long as possible, so it’s not unusual to end up in bed for hours. A bit of a biter, but never excessive with it. Loves having his hands in his partner’s hair, just keeping his fingers tangled there while he works...  and he’s definitely the sort to leave a trail of marks all over their body, just so they remember he was there afterwards.

O   :   ODE.   does your muse have a way with words?

Not like some people  ---  coughLeckiecough  ---  who like to think they’re the next goddamn Lord Byron. Runner’s down-to-earth, and his speaking style reflects that. He says what he means, and doesn’t beat around the bush. Not much flower to his words, but he gets his point across fine, thanks.

P   :   PARTNER.   what does your muse look for in a partner? looks / personality?

He wants someone with a sharp sense of humor   ---  who can give as good as they get, and quip right back when someone challenges them. Maybe someone on the athletic side   ---   he’d love a dancer   ---   but definitely someone with an healthy appreciation for sports. Would probably do better with an extrovert. He loves loud laughter, and has a soft spot for off-key singing. Maybe someone with good fashion sense, he’d love that...  and, above all else, someone who’d do anything for the people they care about.

Q   :   QUESTION.   would your muse ask the big question or expect their partner to?

Runner would absolutely plan something elaborate   ---  like proposing on a jetski, or on the top of a mountain, or on an amusement park ride  ---  and have something go incredibly wrong. (It’s the ring. He lives in terror of losing that ring, because at some point he will.)

R   :   ROMANCE.   is your muse a romantic or a cynic?

Can someone be a cynical romantic? He definitely leans more towards the cynical side, but there’s a part of him that wants romance badly. He wants to have a happy life with someone he cares about, but fully acknowledges that that’s easier said than managed. He’s no textbook casanova, but has an offbeat romantic streak that only reveals himself during his most unguarded moments.

S   :   SWEETHEART.   did your muse have a childhood sweetheart?

Sure did. Several, actually. A few girls in grade school were head over heels for him, and actually got into fights over it. That’s how Little Bud first learned to fear the fury of women, and understood what a tricky thing romance could be. (He kissed two of them under the jungle gym. When the girls compared notes, they were so furious that they both never spoke to him again. Eh, it was fun while it lasted.)

T   :   TRUE LOVE.   does your muse believe in true love?

He...  has this idea of love in his head, the sort of love that just feels like belonging. It’s comfortable, and stable, and not electric whatsoever...  but when it comes down to it, that’s the kind Runner wants. He definitely desires passion, but...  in his opinion, real love goes beyond fire, straight down to the bedrock beneath.

U   :   UNREQUITED.   has your muse had their heart broken?

He’s been on the bad end of a cheating relationship, more than once. Not total heartbreak   ---  Runner’s a resilient guy   ---   but he knows how much it hurts.

V   :   VALENTINE.   how does your muse feel about valentine’s day?

Genuinely not his thing whatsoever. He’ll let his partner take the lead  ---  basically, tell him what to do and he’ll do it, otherwise he’s content staying in, eating nachos, and doing nothing the entire night.

W  :   WEDDING.   would your muse get married? why / why not?

Definitely. There’s a question he doesn’t even have to think about. His Mom would kill him if he ended up unmarried, and Runner hates the idea of spending his life alone   ---   he absolutely wants to end up with someone, it’s just gotta be the right someone. While he won’t rush into things, he absolutely sees marriage in his future.

Serial nicknamer. It’s an issue. Sometimes he’ll throw out nicknames just to get under peoples’ skin  (re: Peaches)  but they have a bad habit of sticking. He doesn’t use common ones like “honey” or “sweetheart” with his partner, but he will give them a variety of creative nicknames.

Y   :   YOURS.   does your muse get protective easily?

Aside from his jealous streak...  not very. Runner trusts the people he’s close with to be able to handle themselves. He won’t jump into a situation unless it’s obvious that they need help, or he sees something he really doesn’t like. Usually, he’ll wait until the other person gives a cue  ---  then he’ll come in swinging.

Z   :   ZZZ.   how many people has your muse slept with?

He...  had a frequent partner or two back home, and picks up a few girls in Melbourne. About 4 - 5 partners, so he’s no novice  (even if he acts more confident than he has a right to.)

Roger for sure would scare you away with grand gestures, he sometimes has issues differing between romance and spending needlessly on gooey crap.

And even though Brian is such a lowkey dad, I think he would 100% respect your decision to not have kids, unlike Deacon.

In fact, when you hardly knew Brian, he came to your defense when Deacon was giving you a hard time for wanting to focus on your future and not have to worry about providing for children. You were all seated around a table playing board games (Freddie was having a game night), but Roger and Freddie were wanting to finish their Scrabble game before you started anything else, so they were at the other end swearing at each other.

“I just think that you would be a good mom,” Deacon replied simply, setting his hands on the table and spreading out his fingers as he pressed the palms to the cool, grainy wood. He seemed perplexed by your aversion to kids, seeing as he’d always been such a family-oriented person.

“Oh, lay off of her, would you Deacon? You’re being a bit harsh,” Brian interjected from Deacon’s left. You sighed a bit in relief, thanking God that you didn’t have to endure any more of Deacon’s haranguing. 

“Thank you, Brian,” you mumbled, and he nodded politely, sending you a particularly soft smile before continuing.

“Besides, I think it’s nice she wants to focus on her career. You're one to talk, you were deadset on electrical engineering before oh-so-graciously deciding you would join Queen after all.” John rolled his eyes, partially ignoring Brian as he tapped his fingers on the table, shaking his head. “Y/N’s got a good head on her shoulders. We should all be a little more like her sometimes.” 

Brian’s kind, unwarranted words made a blush come to your cheeks, and you ducked your head as John scoffed, still looking down at his hands. “You think I don’t have a good head on my shoulders?

Brian’s response was simple, but sharp, and came accompanied with a pat to Deacon’s head. “Nope, you’ve got this mess flopping around.” 

When Brian’s hand came to rest on top of his head, you saw Deacon’s expression sour before he smacked his hand away, scooting away from him. “Touch me again and I’ll really give you a good smack. Also, who are you kidding? You can’t even get to your stupid head through that mess,” he sneered, tugging on a curl of Brian’s rather hard and making him yelp, which got all of you to laughing.

Brian 100% started using any excuse he could after that to come hang out with you. He’d ask if he could borrow a book, or ask your opinion on a movie, and then finagle his way into a library date or movie night with you as a result. 

You let him ‘finagle’ it out of you. Brian was cute, and his kind, soft demeanor was a great complement to your need for a subdued, temperate lifestyle.

He was absolutely infatuated with you, so when he decided he was ready to ask you to be his girlfriend, he had to ask the boys how they thought he should do it.

Roger and Freddie came up with some ideas that would have genuinely humiliated you, while Deacon offered an approach that would have you swooning for days, and Brian was incredibly nervous to make it happen - he was pretty whipped by you, so he wanted to get everything right.

And from the beginning, everything went wrong. 

The garlic toast was burnt, the sauce was flavorless, and the pasta was overcooked when you showed up to Brian’s. He’d called you and asked you to come over to help him with a song he’d been working on, so you hadn’t expected for him to be cooking a fancy meal gone wrong when you walked in.

“Shit, I’ve ruined it all,” he cursed as you peeked around the corner of the kitchen. He was standing over the charred garlic toast with his hands on his hips, looking frustrated and pretty much defeated as he tried to reckon with the situation. When you cleared your throat, he jumped in surprise, not knowing that you’d come in.

“Hello, Bri,” you murmured gently, giving him a polite kiss on the check when he gave you a mildly frustrated smile and came over to greet you. “Having some problems? Thought you were working on a song?”

“Well, d’you want to know the truth?” he asked, sounding a bit exasperated as he threw the dish towel over his shoulder, walking back over to shut the burners off on the stove top. When you nodded, he sighed and leaned back against the counter, giving you a pitiful look as he gestured to the food. “I asked the boys what I should do for you tonight. I wanted to do something nice for you to show you that I appreciate you. Want to know what Roger and Freddie said?”

You were a bit red in the face at his particularly sentimental words that were laced with a bit of frustration, but you nodded for him to continue.

“They suggested I take you to wine and dine, then go for a private boat ride down the river that ended in a fireworks show. The whole 9 yards.” You wrinkled your nose a bit at the grandiose idea - perfect for those two, but not quite your style. “But then Deacon had the perfect idea - cook a homemade dinner, stay in, and watch a movie. And I’ve fucked it all up from the get-go, made myself look like an absolute moron who can’t even cook pasta. It’s a wonder you even hang around with me.”

“Brian, I think it’s sweet,” you laughed softly, coming over to poke the garlic bread with your pinky and meeting a remarkably hard surface. “And you haven’t ruined it. How about we just get delivery and stay in? We can watch The French Connection?”

And so you did. You ordered in some Chinese, settled in on the couch, and you were watching the car chase scene when Brian shifted uncomfortably, clearing his throat as he looked over at you with a sort of wistful expression. He was pale, his eyes searching your face with an unreadable stare.

“What is it?” you asked, glancing at him for a moment before looking back at the screen. “Food didn’t make you sick, did it?”

“No, no,” he chuckled airily, scratching his head before turning a bit more to you. “I was just going to ask you something, but I don’t know if I can handle your answer.”

“Well, now you’ve got to ask it,” you replied, raising an eyebrow as you looked at him curiously.

“Well, I said I brought you over here just to make sure you know I appreciated you, but I actually brought you over so I could ask.... would you be my girlfriend?”

Laughing, you cocked your head before nodding and trying not to blush as hard as your body was about to. “Even though you timed this to be during one of the best scenes of the movie, I suppose I’ll still say yes,” you teased gently, reaching over to take his hand and squeeze it.

A brilliant smile took over his face as he squeezed your hand in return before kissing your knuckles affectionately and letting your intertwined hands drop to his lap. “Well, isn’t that good timing? Now you’ll remember this as your favorite scene because of me.”

“Mmm, pretty sure I’ll still mainly remember it for the beautiful, tasteful cut sequences, but you’re a close second.”

Your aversion to grand gestures and intense public scrutiny is very similar to Rami’s avoidance of social media and broadcasting his day to day to everyone. After the cafe, it was dark enough that Rami asked if you’d like to take a walk, no longer fearing that the paparazzi would hound him if he just kept a low profile. 

“So what do you do? I never got a chance to ask you that back there,” Rami asked, his arm held out so you could link yours into it as you started to head down the street.

“I’m an editor at Daily Mail. Not my preferred place of work, but not bad,” you replied, resting your other hand on his arm as you stuck close to his side, trying not to run into anyone.

“Not bad at all,” he chuckled, looking down at you with a small twinkle in his eye before he looked ahead, crossing the street with you. “Gwilym told me you’re into movies, is that right?”

“Gwilym told you something about me? I thought this was supposed to be a blind date, that dickhead!” you laughed, shaking your head as you looked forward. “Didn’t even tell me anything about you, how unfair!”

“I sort of got him drunk enough that he’d tell me the other night, so....” Rami shrugged, smiling sheepishly as you giggled at the thought of Drunk Gwilym trying to describe you. “I was nervous. Wanted to impress you, I haven’t been on a date in... gosh, forever. I’ve been so busy with filming, I basically dropped off the face of the dating world.”

“Still doesn’t make it fair, but props to you for thinking of the drunk thing. That’s a lot farther than I got when I tried to pry information out of him.” After a small pause, you looked down at your feet and smiled, then looked up at him. “And yes, I do like film. I’m a big movie girl.”

“Well... if you weren’t aware, I’m in a few films,” Rami said nonchalantly, an impish grin playing at his lips as he met your gaze for a moment. “I’m an actor, so that’s pretty much my thing.”

“You’re an actor? Gosh, that’s crazy! Never knew that,” you replied in faux excitement, sarcasm lacing your voice, and Rami laughed as you started giggling, the two of you an adorable sight to all the passerby. 

And an adorable sight you continued to be as you went out for a second, and third, and even fourth date at hole in the wall places around London. When principal photography was wrapping up, Rami asked you to be his girlfriend, and even though the distance thing made you nervous, you knew that there was no reason to worry about trust or anything. So, you said yes.

A couple weeks after he’d departed London, he was preparing for the press tours and you were in the midst of a big project when he called you out of the blue, dragging you from a meeting you’d been bored to tears by anyways.

“Hello?” you answered, pressing your phone to your ear as you stepped back into your office, shutting the door behind you. 

“Hi, beautiful. How’s your day?”

Rami’s voice made you grin ear to ear, filling your whole body with an inexplicable warmth. “It’s going. You almost packed?”

“Of course not,” he laughed over the phone, making you giggle softly. “I’m trying, but I really had to get something off my chest before I got to work here.”

“Okay, shoot,” you said casually, though you were confused by ‘get something off my chest,’ so you raised an eyebrow, very interested in what he had to say.

“So, what would you say if I flew into London tomorrow, and you came with me to help me choose my place?”

“Choose your place?” you asked, baffled by the question. You weren’t really sure what he was proposing, but he sounded somewhat excited.

“Well, I really miss you, and Ben, and Gwilym - especially you - so I figured why not get myself a house in London so I can be there as often as I want without imposing on all of you?”

You almost choked as you realized Rami was literally considering buying a home in London to be close to you. It seemed an awful lot like an expensive attempt at a romantic gesture, and you didn’t want that at all. “Babe, please don’t feel like you have to do this just to be a good boyfriend-”

“No, no, I want to!” he interrupted, sounding genuine as he chuckled a little, then cleared his throat. “Also, it’s not just for you, if that worries you. I miss London in general. And Ben and Gwilym. Those two... are something. Can’t believe I miss them as much as I do.”

“More than me?” you teased, Rami’s laugh filling your ear and making you grin as you let the temporary nerves wear off. Rami in London. Now that was something you could get used to.
