I'm updating my personal ref sheets and it's really hitting me just how SMOL Kirby, Bandee, and Elfilis really are compared to the rest of the cast.
#Elfilis! standing on your tippy toes is cheating!!#its okay tho on all fours you're like a little house cat compared to Dedede hehehe#here's a bonus story for anyone nice enough to read my tags#I'll tell the cliffs notes version of the story I drafted of why Gorimondo is so much taller than the other Beasts#especially when comparing Gori to the Mookies (the little hammer monkey enemies)#It involves him exploring a forbidden ruin with Sillydillo#and finding an experimental growth serum in some abandoned school chemistry lab#Gori was the shortest of everyone growing up so he's self conscious about it#Silly can read enough “Forgotten Language” to pick out the word “grow” and eggs him on to try drinking it#and they're like teenagers at that point so Gori just shrugs and tries it and nothing happens.#fast forward a year and he doubled in height#NO ONE KNOWS why he shot upwards like that except for Silly. he doesn't want to be lectured about drinking strange potions in the ruins#the rest of the beast council friend group just assume he was a late bloomer of some kind or he just increased his exercise routine#but when kids ask him why he's so tall Gori just says he ate all his vegetables and always listened to what his parents said#the kiddos in Wondaria were very well behaved after he told them that#the end! thanks for reading hehe. if you could only see my notes on the Beast Pack#their personalities are so basic in canon I get to squash and stretch their backstories all I want muahaha#art#forgotten land roleswap#roleswap bonus features#king dedede#meta knight#elfilis#kirby#bandana waddle dee#kirby and the forgotten land#kirby series#kirby comic#beast pack#clawroline

hey do i have any followers who are seasoned xenofiction fans . im trying to figure out an animal cast for something and want to know what the vibes are for "wouldn't raise an eyebrow in a setting" vs "would raise some questions". Like, as a speaking role having creature. So i don't mean a cast entirely comprised of just that species, I mean alongside other animals.
this is entirely vibes based i'm just in like. a decision-making pre-production stage rn

why does everything i get really into always end up being so god damn niche. by the year 2035 i am going to be blogging exclusively about the interpersonal relationships between the pillbugs and snails hiding underneath the bricks lining the flowerbeds in my parent's garden.

The fact that lucifer tried to talk to Michael in swan song and convince him to stop all of this and Michael said no but lucifer is the evil one??
Like don’t get me wrong I enjoy lucifer as a villain and I know that Michael isn’t meant to be a 100% good guy but I feel like spn always goes back to. Heaven = good. Hell = bad.
Like despite having tons of morally grey angels running around and great allies in Crowley and Meg, the show stills ends with them in Heaven as the reward. With lucifer as one of the biggest bads and Michael redeemed?
Isn’t it all a little boring? Predictable? It really felt like they were gonna flip the script for a little bit in season 4 and 5 but they just didn’t?
#idk it’s just weird and def one of the reasons people have weird brides of sam#like if you’re gonna have two protagonists and have them on two sides you either need to make the sides equally bad/good#or have one of them turn more grey#it’s just so weird to pick sam as team hell but never actually go through with it#and dean as team heaven but only go half way with heaven being corrupt#idk? I dot. have all my thought sorted out but it’s one of the most unsatisfying parts of the spn biewing experience for me#like they say we are team free will not team heaven or team hell but I feel like they don’t commit to that either??#the over arching plots of this show are very strange

the thing is i just cant take it seriously when im reading books that mention how yiddish is an endangered language when ten minutes later i go to the grocery and the majority of ppl around me are speaking yiddish. like i just cant take it seriously when ppl who did not grow up like i did are being so earnest and serious abt all of it and like i get it i agree im in but the way they talk abt it is soo incongruous to my reality. it's alive and well and everyone who speaks it has 10 kids and starts giving birth at 18 wdym it's in danger

#im realizing one thing that irks me is when there’s way too much internal monologuing going on#if a character is suspicious. Or if someone is acting out of character then SHOW US !#for chrissake#if the writing is good we shouldn’t Need them to tell us if a character is acting strange#we should be able to tell. and if it’s obvious and then they state it anyways Then it feels pateonizing#kabru’s tragic backstory couldve been compelling but instead he was yammering over it the entire time#his backstory flashback i mean#establishing shit that we could have picked up on our own. and then RESTATING IT in the SAME SCENE…..#it’s an issue of turning a manga into an anime though ig#exposition is more necessary when there isn’t as much visual aid to help people understand whats going on#But then they make an anime where there is more room for that. and then keep the same amount of exposition#or fill a whole episode w characters sitting around a fire and talking about the protagonists#my rambles#definitely just my personal preference#i just get So bored when a piece of media tries to do the thinking for the audience#please Please don’t give in dont give in Whatever you do#TRUST PEOPLE TO PICK UP ON WHAT YOU’RE PUTTING DOWN#imagine if breaking bad had walter white narrating the entire thing. it would fucking suck#i think that’s part of why most animes just dont do it for me. it’s a very common trait#it’s really good in comedies though like nichijou

so #1, an undeniable slay.
#2, how long do we think he was sitting in the confessional booth waiting for the guy to wake up from ellie's fake vision quest. like an hour? checking his light, practicing his Big Reveal Pose TM? he probably brought a book with him and just shoved it underneath the seat cushion when it was time to show off.
#3, knowing how intensely he studied & continues to study in order to teach himself magic at such an absurdly advanced level without any teachers to formally guide him? and how that level of dedication would absolutely carry over into researching a mark / making sure he had every corner of a confidence scheme nailed down pat? i like to imagine that the day before this meeting was spent with his severely under-caffeinated ass parked at a public library computer, squinting at articles for 'most important things to know about vatican city before you travel' or 'top 10 little-known facts about vatican city' and using the back of his boarding pass to take notes on what would be the best throwaway line to blow off all the usual questions with.
also, he probably woke up still in his travel clothes less than two hours before this scene and had to hustle to get suited up in time for his Dramatic Apparition. the demon blood was boiling so bad in that chapel that it was giving him a killer migraine. he didn't get breakfast so his stomach was growling the ENTIRE time. but all that meant was he had plenty of room to eat UP the runway and that's EXACTLY what the fuck he did.i'm

Always having a bunch of weird trivia available w/ his eidetic memory#like he read about the apostolic palace once in a book when he was with the peace convoy and his brain latched onto it forever#and it just Happens to become convenient later on and this happens VERY often and no one ever really knows how he does it#but there is a real real charm in considering that he's still Just A Guy beneath all the layers of false confidence and mysticism#still someone who had to work to get to where he is now and who will always have to work to Maintain as well#i like the mental image of him pacing around his temporary digs with index cards and drilling all the necessary details for the scam#or him and ellie getting blasted the night before and dramatically playing out their Big Final Confrontation to iron out all the beats#you just Know they were laughing til they cried workshopping shit like 'MY OLD ADVERSARY! WE MEET AGAIN!' and 'DO YOUR WORST HELLSPAWN!'#still trying to keep straight faces the day of the fake fight while drastically improvising to try and throw each other off their game#idk!!! i always enjoy the Strange and Off-Putting things about him but all of the Really Really Human stuff is also just. so so precious#we always get to see The Myth The Legend as shaped by the errors of The Man. but especially in later years actually SEEING The Man gets rar#all this to say that for every perfectly executed and properly horrifying loom out of the shadows with a glimmer of his freaky glowing eyes#there is always at LEAST half an hour or more practicing angles + expressions + mood lighting in the mirror going on behind the scenes#and that is very very special to me!!!!#( headcanons. ) I'M JUST LIKE THE BASTARDS I'VE HATED ALL ME LIFE.#( visage. ) AND I'M A BASTARD.#sched.

I am cursed with the absolute inability to even reference a thing that I don't know enough about, because someone could see me being wrong and I don't want to disappoint them, which is why I am watching the original Godzilla (1954, subtitled) on one screen and doing some pixel art on the other and doing some writing under that (days when my ADHD meds work are very strange to me. Who is this Motherfucker Unlimited who can multitask like this and how is he possibly me), and I am like, ridiculously pleased with how much I do not need the subtitles for any of this.

i never remember to explain shit anymore i just vaguepost and expect people to catch up but i finally have good news, we've made a lot of progress with my parents' estate (they both ran their own businesses and you know those images of nightmare cable management? well imagine that with bank accounts) and i actually have money now - im taking a trip to Aotearoa NZ with my mate Jules next week (dark sky reserve! lotr filming locations! snow! FOOD!) and then in august i will be moving to nyc to pursue a 2 year masters degree in library science with a focus on rare materials archival studies!! shits happening in my life!! im not just sitting in my house doing nothing all day!! and like i said i have money!! if you're taking commissions lmk bc while im focused on my getaway for the next few weeks i wanna support my friends and their art and when i get back i wanna throw u cash to draw my ocs!!
