I'm updating my personal ref sheets and it's really hitting me just how SMOL Kirby, Bandee, and Elfilis really are compared to the rest of the cast.

(other than the racism and xenophobia - I’m glad to see more of that in this space)#It’s just I think not deeply enough for me - and combined with not feeling attached to the characters I just wasn’t feeling it#Also one of the reasons I picked this up was because I was seeing people say it has an asexual MC and let me just say-#it has a very vaguely AROace CODED mc#If you’re looking for it there’s a few lines of implications but it’s not super clear and also any mention is romance related - aro! not ac#There were SO many instances that would have been an opportunity to bring up aro/aceness and the choice to not do that#felt sightly strange to me?. however tdlr readers could be promoting this on it having no romance and focusing on#friendship/family instead of saying it has an ace MC which is….only there if you squint#no romance#***other than side characters being married and also:#There’s a minor subplot where a side character has a crush on another SC which is unrequited#and there’s a bit of a confrontation after which he backs off. but then it’s implied they might get together in the end :(#which was unnecessary! come on!#I always find fantasy characters inventing real life foods slightly odd but at least this one is more from the author’s culture#anyway. it's okay! just didn't really end up being for me

And you know what, I'll say it, isnt it funny how only white (mostly men) characters ever get HUGE universally agreed upon designations as neurodivergent and tons of love but like characters of color are hardly ever given that sort of embracing from the neurodivergent community in fan spaces. Characters of color who share autistic traits with me or other neurodivergent poc I know get reduced to being mean and especially big meanie joy killers to white characters they love. Like isnt that some bullshit?
And like idk I dont think we'd even have to have this conversation if people would just get the point of Dungeon Meshi is community and the complexity of interpersonal relationships, not fucking shipping and team choosing lol Relationships are composed of people and people are beautiful, complicated, and flawed and they can sometimes lead to us hurting one another but ALL these things make those relationships worth while when we use them to grow. In the end we all need each other and we need to learn from each other to make any of this silly lil life better for each other.

hey do i have any followers who are seasoned xenofiction fans . im trying to figure out an animal cast for something and want to know what the vibes are for "wouldn't raise an eyebrow in a setting" vs "would raise some questions". Like, as a speaking role having creature. So i don't mean a cast entirely comprised of just that species, I mean alongside other animals.
this is entirely vibes based i'm just in like. a decision-making pre-production stage rn
(no need to rb by the way i dont need a very big sample size for this)

why does everything i get really into always end up being so god damn niche. by the year 2035 i am going to be blogging exclusively about the interpersonal relationships between the pillbugs and snails hiding underneath the bricks lining the flowerbeds in my parent's garden.

The fact that lucifer tried to talk to Michael in swan song and convince him to stop all of this and Michael said no but lucifer is the evil one??
Like don’t get me wrong I enjoy lucifer as a villain and I know that Michael isn’t meant to be a 100% good guy but I feel like spn always goes back to. Heaven = good. Hell = bad.
Like despite having tons of morally grey angels running around and great allies in Crowley and Meg, the show stills ends with them in Heaven as the reward. With lucifer as one of the biggest bads and Michael redeemed?
Isn’t it all a little boring? Predictable? It really felt like they were gonna flip the script for a little bit in season 4 and 5 but they just didn’t?
#idk it’s just weird and def one of the reasons people have weird brides of sam#like if you’re gonna have two protagonists and have them on two sides you either need to make the sides equally bad/good#or have one of them turn more grey#it’s just so weird to pick sam as team hell but never actually go through with it#and dean as team heaven but only go half way with heaven being corrupt#idk? I dot. have all my thought sorted out but it’s one of the most unsatisfying parts of the spn biewing experience for me#like they say we are team free will not team heaven or team hell but I feel like they don’t commit to that either??#the over arching plots of this show are very strange

the thing is i just cant take it seriously when im reading books that mention how yiddish is an endangered language when ten minutes later i go to the grocery and the majority of ppl around me are speaking yiddish. like i just cant take it seriously when ppl who did not grow up like i did are being so earnest and serious abt all of it and like i get it i agree im in but the way they talk abt it is soo incongruous to my reality. it's alive and well and everyone who speaks it has 10 kids and starts giving birth at 18 wdym it's in danger
