the thing is i just cant take it seriously when im reading books that mention how yiddish is an endangered language when ten minutes later i go to the grocery and the majority of ppl around me are speaking yiddish. like i just cant take it seriously when ppl who did not grow up like i did are being so earnest and serious abt all of it and like i get it i agree im in but the way they talk abt it is soo incongruous to my reality. it's alive and well and everyone who speaks it has 10 kids and starts giving birth at 18 wdym it's in danger

#im allowed to be antisemitic to hasidim bc i am 1/4 hasid btw and bc they bullied me btw #yeah it's weird being this interested in yiddish bc most of the academia comes from secular or like. modoxy jews who didnt grow up around #yiddish speakers. they talk abt hasidim like this tiny fragile percentage. im like #idk i just find it so strange. to be fair this is very vibes based from clicking around websites #im not involved enough to know if that's an actual trend #but like do they know hasidim are real people and not a fragile repository of language . are they being included in this project #op #<- feels SO weird to use that name but that's good bc if i picked a name i liked i would get too attached and make it my name #this one is a subtle nod to various things iykyk #personal
