i am SO HOPEFUL for a buddie kiss in 8x18 but i am just totally not getting the vibe from eddie and i wish i was 😭😭😭 (but i am so happy to be proven wrong!)

Hey anon! So, I don't want to give anyone false hope or anything, but this is what I believe right now, and I'll explain how I came to this conclusion. Tim and the network definitely want buddie canon to break the internet, right? They want tons and tons of articles written about it, everyone and their mother talking, screaming and losing their minds about the show, and it attracting the bigger media outlets. They basically have one shot at doing that. As much as I would want it, if they decide to write a slow queer arc for Eddie that leads up to a feelings realization that leads up to some pining... at what point exactly does buddie break the internet? By the time they kiss, it'll be expected. Remember this is supposed to be a will they/won't they, not a when will they?. And if Eddie's confirmed queer, well, buddie becomes inevitable and even the GA will see it coming from a mile away. In order to get the biggest impact, they need one big, unexpected, earth-shattering moment, a true seismic shift if you will. A kiss would absolutely be the best way to do that, especially since Eddie's sexuality and feelings are not confirmed and he's still seen as straight. This is what they did for Buck in 7x04.

What I believe we could get is: both Buck and Eddie getting parallel feelings realizations during the episode, because of the building explosion (possible small NDEs?), Buck realizing that he should accept and embrace the changes in his life instead of resisting them, like Pepa said, and Eddie realizing that he can't lose Buck because he's home, he's family to him. So Eddie comes on the scene to save Buck (maybe one of them blurts out some feelings there?), everything ends well, and in the end they have a scene in their house where Eddie tells Buck that he decided he wants to move back home, and I don't know who makes a confession or who makes the first move... but that scene ends with a kiss. Cut to black, roll credits. I believe this is possible because they're both finally at the right place in their lives for this, they both had their own journeys during the last 7/8 seasons leading up to this moment. It would even be poetic that they arrived there at the same time, and once they know, they know, and there's no point in waiting or pondering over it any longer. It's actually gonna be the easiest thing they've ever had to do.

As for Eddie, what vibe are you missing, anon? I would advise you to rewatch the season. Eddie's vibe in 8x17 alone screamed in love with Buck to me. How vulnerable he let himself be in front of Buck only? How emotional and intense that fight was? That's definitely not platonic. And how many times did we see him make heart eyes at Buck/Buck and Chris? He acted straight out of a romcom basically the whole episode. The vibe is definitely there for me. 🤷‍♀️ Once again, if Eddie's side is confirmed before they kiss, they lose their one shot at surprising the audience and at buddie breaking the internet (well, we all know it would still break it, but maybe less so). Rewatch 8x06, 8x09, 8x10, anon, and tell me you don't feel a vibe from Eddie.

Again, this is pure speculation on my part and I may be completely wrong, but I really feel like we'll get buddie canon in 8x18, and the best way to do it on all accounts (unless you want fanfic levels of storytelling, but that's just not what this show is) would be with a kiss. If not, we'll definitely get some feelings realizations, but I don't see why they wouldn't just go straight to the kiss. Not to mention they're definitely in need of something big happening in 8x18 to get people to tune in to season 9.

Sorry for yapping so much, I didn't think I would have this much to say. I actually feel like I've barely scratched the surface! Anyway, let's just enjoy this last week of theorizing and the amazing content/interviews we're probably gonna get, and as always, my ask box is open if anyone wants to scream about buddie with me! 💓

the biggest appeal about jack to me is the fact that despite being genuinely really smart and tough, he's really just human in the end. angel died, he got reckless, he died. same with tales tbh. he found out angel died, rhys betrayed him, he crashed out, he "died". he's extremely self destructive and THAT is why i really love jack as a character. it just wouldn't hit the same if he somehow survived and it was all part of some secret plan

Tally still isn't quite back to 100% yet, but she's recovered a lot in general. Every time she does one of her normal habits that she'd stopped doing while she was sick, my heart just squeezes with gratefulness. Stuff like her yowling like I died after I go to bed, her climbing onto my lap while I'm sitting on the toilet and/or watching me from on top of her litter box, her jumping onto furniture, her getting up in my face and sniffing my breath as I slowly blow air at her, her trying to eat the plants, her PLAYING.... and of course, her eating.

I also discovered the coat rack toppled over onto the couch after getting out of bed today - surely her doing. Didn't break anything so im just glad she's back to being at least some semblance of a chaos demon, even if she's not totally recovered yet.

It's the little things, sometimes. All her little habits, some harmless and some annoying, that make up who she is and her presence in my life. When all of these stop, so she's just a lump on the couch, barely eating and barely getting up... it was unsettling. And worrisome.

But I've got my baby back. She's still not super high energy, but she's got enough to feel like herself again. And I'm so, so grateful.

yourusername i never wanted to bring this to social media but i was made aware that lando released a statement today that as you can see from above, is full of nothing but lies. we’ve been best friends for a few years now and i had been in love with him for almost all of them. we recently admitted our feelings for each other and decided to see where things would go between us. it was new, but we were relationship and he did cheat on me. i don’t know who he thinks he’s fooling but i haven’t seen or spoken to him since that night at the the studio and things between us are obviously not fine. i’m also pretty sure aria had no idea about me so please do not attack her. this is the last time i’m going to speak about this situation, as i want to move on with my life.

I'm begging dragonage fans to do a tiny bit of research about arm amputees before loudly shouting their opinions on the inquisitor returning in the next game Please lol.

Apparently, it was confirmed that the inquisitor, your chatacter from the last game (who looses their arm in the final cutscene of the DLC), will return in Veilguard as a customisable character, similar to Hawke, and they will play an active roll in the story. This has caused a lot of people to start speculating on how they'll handle the inquisitor's missing hand, with most people agreeing they'll have to have a prosthetic to be an active part of the story. Which, while I do think this is the rought bioware will take, isn't true, and a part of me really hopes they leave the inquisitor without a prosthetic arm like in the end of Tresspasser

Partially because we already have a companion with a prosthetic (neve) and it would be nice to see some diversity in how amputation is depicted in such a mainstream game, but also because you dont need a prosthetic to fight as any of the main 3 classes from inquisition.

Mage:

mages just need a staff, the game shows them as 2 handed weapons but it's totally beleiveable that it would be usable 1-handed (Neve also uses a dagger-like weapon in the trailer, you can make a "staff" in inquisition that functions more like an energy sword, and the Mage in the chargers uses a staff resembling a bow, so I think it's more that they just need a focus, the shape doesn't matter as much). A knight enchanter may struggle more 1 handed, but I wouldn't write it off as an option with some modifications made to their main staff.

Warrior:

the easiest to justify, because there are several cases of arm amputees fighting with a sword and sheild in history, and while many did have prosthetics, most weren't functional (meaning they were mainly for aesthetic purposes and didn't actually aid the fighter in any way. There were exceptions, like Götz of the iron hand, who's prosthetic was functional, but most were not). The inquisitor looses their arm just above the wrist*, so they still have most of their forearm. Most sheilds strap to the forearm, so it wouldn't take much adjustment to make that work, and you can use the other hand for the weapon. Obviously, two-handed weapons will probably be off the table, though, lol.

*edit to say, as several people pointed out, i got that wrong, my bad 😅. The inquisitors arm is actually amputated through the elbow, the screenshots i was looking at just weren't very clear and it has been a while since i got to trespasser lol. It would still entirely possible to strap a shield to the upper arm though, with some pretty minor adjustments to the existing straps on standard (as in, those used by non-disabled warriors) tall shields, so the point still stands.

Rogue

this is the one people tend to be the loudest about and the one I understand the most. Obviously duel-weilding daggers won't work (unless you give them something like the hidden blades in assassin's creed on their stump side, I guess) but using a single dagger still would, and is a perfectly reasonable approach, given that's how most irl people used daggers. Archery, though, absolutely can work without a prosthetic, despite what people think. Dragonage has crossbows, not something like Bianca (rip) but a small, single-handed crossbow is an option. Even ignoring that though, amputee archery is a thing irl, and not every arm amputee uses prosthetics for it. The bows are modified to be held in one hand and drawn with the mouth using a kind of pully-system built into the bow that I could very easily see being modified into some dwarven-style contraption in game (some double arm amputees use their feet to draw regular bows, but I don't think that would be pheasable in combat).

Like I said, I think bioware will probably go with a prosthetic, but i hope that they don't. Or at the very least, show them with it sometimes and without it other times (the same goes for Neve, no one wears their prosthetic 24/7, I'd love to see them both take them off around the home base, even just occasionally). A lot of arm amputees in particular prefer to go without one, and arm prosthetics in media are some of the worst offenders of the "perfect prosthetic"/"miracle cure prosthetic" tropes. It doesn't count as "diversity" or disability representation if it doesn't actually change anything other than the look of the chatacter, and im really, really desperate for some actually decent amputee representation in games.

Blitz saving Stolas’s life.

I think Stolas is beginning to understand the depth of Blitz’s feelings for him (since Blitz STILL hasn't said anything aloud like Stolas has) when he saves him from Andrealphus. .

It’s important to remember that the last time these two have talked with one another was during Apology Tour, where we get this exchange between them. Stolas is being sarcastic but Blitz (who was lashing out here because he’s terrified of losing Stolas and doesn’t feel he deserves him so he pushes him away) confirms that yes, Stolas doesn’t need anyone to save him because he is a powerful Goetia. So Stolas believes (and I’m speculating here) that Blitz wouldn’t go to any lengths to save him. Not for him. Not now.

Let’s go back to the first instance that Blitz saves Stolas’s life (technically, if you squint, Blitz saved his life the very first time at Loo Loo Land but we the audience know that Stolas was never really in any danger to begin with so I don't count it).

Blitz interrupts Striker, poised and ready with a genuine carmine sniper rifle, who is about to kill Stolas at the Harvest Moon Festival. After that episode I believe many speculated whether Blitz actually told Stolas or not but we got confirmation that he did not in Apology Tour, meaning that Stolas did not know that Blitz had risked his life to save him. Stolas here is more focused on the fact that Blitz didn't tell him after the first attempt (plus is angry at Blitz right now for everything that went down during Full Moon) than he is about the fact that he saved his life. He sort of glosses over that part.

The next time this happens, in Western Energy, Stolas isn’t giving off the vibes of really being in danger and although we the audience know that Blitz was definitely ready to go straight to Stolas and save him (Stolas was cut off by Striker destroying his phone before he could hear that Blitz was going to choose him first), M and M volunteered instead. Blitz (now that we know his reason for feeling okay sending them) chooses Loona.

It was more saving him by association but it’s important here that he was 100% ready to go get and help Stolas.

For me those times are a bit tarnished and I am glad that Stolas, at the time, didn’t know Blitz saved his life. I think, back then, he might have seen it as some heroic act of his knight (a fantasy) coming to save him and not as an act out of actual real love and care. Blitz, at the time, would probably have outwardly waved it off as saving his meal ticket (while internally very much not wanting Stolas to die because Blitz cares about him and is actually a good person).

So when we get to this scene from Sinsmas, Stolas, I believe, still has not seen/been privy to what Blitz is willing to do to protect him when his life is in danger. He is still under the impression that Blitz would not go to such lengths to save him because he believes Blitz has never done it before. Why would he? Blitz just sees him as some privileged royal.

That's why he starts out looking confused.

So although this is not the first time Blitz has saved Stolas's life, for Stolas, it is the first time.

I think that’s why he kisses him. A simple hug or a thank you wouldn’t suffice for all the emotions that are running though Stolas at that moment. Look at his face, it is one of adoration, of relief, of happiness and joy. He is so overwhelmed by this revelation that he just has to kiss him. And at the back of his mind, a beautiful little flame of hope is starting to awaken because this means that maybe there is still a chance. Maybe they can work this out and be together for real this time.

So... Chainsaw Man 180.

The chapter starts with Yoru doing the same Bang posture she was doing before trying to attack Aging with the finger bullet. With this, we confirm that the whole Aging speech at the end of 179 happened while he stopped/slowed time (hence the blurred lines).

After that, we've got the dream scene, which an incredibly cool detail.

For those who don't remember, in chapter 110 we have a dream sequence with Asa. It's a recurring dream where she's running down an alleway, the ground full of dead chickens (a reference to Bucky, at that point of the story). She tries not to step on them, but it's so full of bodies that she can't avoid it.

People have been talking a long time now about how this dream sequence actually connects with Asa and Yoru's relationship (specially this last chapters, with Asa being just an spectator as Yoru murders thousands with her own body). Although it is important to mention that this time, there are no chicken on the floor (or at least we don't see them during the chapter 180 dream sequence).

In any case, I think it's always cool when this kind of analysis that has been under discussion for months is being adressed so directly.

After seeing Denji for the first time since July 17, we've got the Aging World scene, and the main point of speculation in this chapter: the human that escaped that world a long time ago.

I've seen people theorize about that human being Quanxi. However, I think the most plausable option (albeit it's still just speculation) is Yoshida. Not only is he someone who looks like a teenager but clearly isn't one and can survave a 1v1 against Quanxi, but also we've got this inside cover art of him from two volumes ago:

Doesn't this place look familiar?

And yes, I know it might sound crazy to interpret cover art as foreshadowing. But it's not the time this happens in CSM. Take for example the inside cover art from volume 12, where we can see what looks like the buildings Yoru destroyed on chapter 178.

Not only that, but Yoshida being that person would add to Yoshida's and Aging interaction some chapters ago (as it wouldn't be the first time Aging is surprised at something Yoshida does) and that one dialogue from part 1:

And to close, I'd like to talk about the sideburns guy "Mreeee" at the end (as well as the whole pressing his head against the tree thing).

People have pointed out that it looks as if he's trying to mimick a cycada at the end of its life (maybe hoping that it will kill him). This might also relate to cycada's role in greek mythology, as they're related to inmortality:

In any case, I think it's really cool that —now that we've seen that Aging's powers are actually the opposite of that — we confirm that devils can represent the opposite of what they're supposed to embody (which helps to the birth devil theory).

"do you ever drink water?"

levi opens his eyes to the sound of her voice, just to question whether the insomnia that haunts him every night was so easily whisked away under her delicate touch, to the point he'd fallen asleep and conjured that question himself.

he tilts his head back to gaze upon her blank expression, so deep in contemplation — about whether he drinks water, the thing humans need in order to survive — until their eyes meet. she smiles warm and adoringly, like there is nothing in the universe more deserving of her love than him. she leans down to press a kiss to his forehead, one that lingers even when she stands to full height again, thumbs still working circles into his shoulders to ease every instance of tension.

(but, does he drink water?)

"yes, i drink water," levi says quite flatly, much like a disappointed father. that tone of his that indicates "this is a fact. accept it, and shut up" with no room for speculation.

her mouth forms an 'o', as if his confirmation is the single-most revolutionary discovery to ever be amongst humanity. as if this piece of information could have entire books dedicated to it. there'd be history lessons spent solely on sharing this information with every new generation to come.

"you gonna ask if i've ever taken a shit, next?"

"absolutely not." a mortified grimace makes its way to her face. "i'm already aware of that, levi. have my lookouts outside the walls been so minor that you've forgotten?" she cups his face and squishes the plush of his cheeks, hovering her face just above his so there is no mistake in what she says. "i'm the reason your last memory isn't one of taking a dump in a forest...!"

levi, at the very least, snorts a laugh — well it's more like a quiet breath out his nose, but that's basically levi-speak for "that's the funniest thing i've ever heard and actually my sole reason to continue fighting, and you're so hot. have i ever said that? i love you, darling light of my life" but that's neither here nor there — and the small sound is enough to cheer up his darling light of his life, enough that she releases his face.

"i see," he deadpans, "but you've never seen me drink water."

"no, actually. never." with her elbows propped against the back of his chair, she whispers her next words like they're a crime punishable by death, and only he can be trusted to keep her confession — along with her life — safe and hidden from the public. "i have never witnessed you drink water."

and levi, well, he knows for a fact he doesn't not drink water. and it's stupid to acknowledge the time this conversation has even been allowed to happen, that it wasn't shut down after one singular, logical thought. it's as if the sensible braincells that make up his functioning thoughts have forgotten how to speak, and instead exist only to bounce up and down, chanting in unison, "yippee! attention from (name)!" and do nothing of their usual duties.

"i do." it's simple, straight to the point. though levi is still wracking his brain trying to recall the last time he did, he can only hope she doesn't press for more proof than that.

"when?" she asks, as if solely to spite him and spit on his hopes. "tea doesn't count. we're talking plain water only."

between the two, it's like a staring contest. eyes locked, an unspoken challenge. paired with one raised brow, her eyes say "you sure?" and his, so steely and full of resolve, speak back to her "damn sure". but neither back down. and the rules of a staring contest must be lost on them, ignored even, because they both blink whenever they need to, and not a lot of staring seems to be happening.

"i do," levi states again. but the repetition serves no points to his defence, rather solidifying his lack of case. in a small twist, however, this could be proof that the legendary captain really didn't need water to thrive on the battlefield; a beast worth a thousand soldiers, whilst needing the water of none.

the only downside to befall this revelation, as incredible a find as it may be, is that no artist could replicate the true depth of his pretty face. the man in the history books would be handsome, no doubt capturing the hearts of many generations to come. but— no mortal hand could possess the skill to capture his essence. but that was okay, because levi was a very, very taken man. the humans of the future would be born in a world without the fear of titans, but born too late to witness the great captain in all his glory. the future sounded lame.

"you don't sound so certain, captain." she seems triumphant to a sickening degree. using his title with that proud little smile on her face, it's a deplorable tactic to throw him off whatever thought process he'd been looped in. and it works. but, then comes a gasp that wipes that look off her face in an instant. "you do! oh...you drink water during training."

of course he does. and during those expeditions she mentioned earlier, too.

"you know, levi, i was really worried that i'd never seen you drink water," she confesses. he feels a weird twinge in his chest — the same sensation that flourishes whenever she says she loves him, or he sees the "i've spotted my levi!" smile appear at the mere sight of him. she sighs, coming forth to wrap him in a loose embrace. "really had me worried i'd done something seriously wrong to be banished from watching your hydration rituals."

levi doesn't ask why exactly that was the first conclusion to be drawn, nor why she asked about his water intake at all. he only settles into her arms, breathing a sigh of relief as finally, by some miracle, his braincells function again.
