Secret ch 7 preview

because I've been working SOOO hard on chapter 7 and I want to share a teensy little taste of it....

He really needed to see Wu. Maybe he should just say 'fuck it' and hop on the train to Ba Sing Se. He had a key to get into Wu’s room. He could just drive home, pack a bag, take a cab to the train station, and— Well, no. He couldn’t do that. Mako was a planner. He didn’t do things like spontaneous trips to visit his boyfriend—for several reasons. One reason being no one could know about them, so he couldn’t just show up at the palace and announce he was there to see Wu. Another reason being that Mako didn’t even know if Wu was even in Ba Sing Se. He traveled a lot. The palace might be Wu’s home, but Wu had fifty-five states to oversee. Unlike the late Earth Queen, Wu was determined to take an active role in governing. He especially wanted to take care in planning election timetables with the leadership in each state. Wu had developed a strong belief that any issues he faced with planning elections, reforming taxes or rewriting policy and laws; the answers would always lie with the people who lived in their respective states. So, no. Mako couldn’t spontaneously drop in on Wu in Ba Sing Se—Wu might not be there and even if he was, Mako couldn’t visit without a plan for concealing their relationship. Mako parked his satomobile at the police station, shut off the ignition and took a few moments to collect himself. He took some deep breaths and rubbed his eyes till he saw stars. What was wrong with him? It had to be exhaustion from how intense work had been the last few weeks. He was burning out and it must be making him delirious. Yes. That was it. A perfectly rational explanation for why his heart was hammering, for this deep ache in his core, for the absurd intrusive thought about running away to Ba Sing Se.

no but really, I think it fits him really well! I had thought his UM would probably involve something kinda sleight-of-handy or pickpockety! and I looooved that it made such a nice loop-around back to episode 1. ❤️ I was. kind of half-expecting him to just run out and punch Riddle in the nose again. but instead this time 'twas he who offed the queen's head! it was great! and he did it while stone-cold terrified out of his mind! because Ace is the only remotely normal or well-adjusted person at NRC and therefore the only one who is like "we're going to literally die, this is super effed up". but he did it anyway!!!! I AM SO PROUD

labels are optional btw. i've seen some people complain about microlabels and how they are confusing, unnecessary, but the thing is. those labels are OPTIONAL. the people who use microlabels are using them because they feel that's what works best for them. you don't have to use any label you don't want, even if it's description technically matches you. that's why things like ace and aro are spectrums. you could use a microlabel, or if you feel it works better to just call yourself ace/aro, or simply aspec, there's options. and you don't even have to use any of them if you don't want. you can go unlabeled. it's all up to you what you want to use for yourself. nobody is forcing you to use a label you don't want. that's literally the opposite of what we want htgfsdsf

my point is, if microlabels don't work for you, then just don't use them. don't start trying to invalidate others who do use them. microlabels exist so you have more options.
