Five Times Sirius Black Fucked James Potter and One Time He Didn't
(in a slytherin!sirius au...part 3/5. read parts one, and two here)
-
James could hear his mother's voice in his head telling him to stop fidgeting as he continued to adjust the shoulders of his new Healerâs robes. Allegedly, this was how they were supposed to fit, the typical loose sleeves of other robes an occupational hazard. Apparently. As he waited in front of the double doors past the reception of St. Mungos, he was already counting the days until he was no longer a trainee and respected enough to show up to St. Mungoâs in robes far more comfortable.
But as it was, today was a special occasion at St. Mungoâs, the entire hospital buzzing around him, in preparation for the arrival of a donor--investor?--someone who wanted to sign over too much money St. Mungoâs to support the development of a children's ward. Most of the trainees were given the sage orders to stay out of the way and not do anything stupid. One of Jamesâs colleagues was actually given the day off in lieu of coming it at all, to avoid any major catastrophes, everyone eager and anxious to impress.Â
Except James.
Not you, Potter. People like you. You have that kind of face that people like. And James was given two orders from his supervisor in preparation for greeting the donor at the entrance of the hospital: 1) look presentable and 2) be charming.Â
Both of which wouldâve been a lot easier to do if he hadnât felt like he was crammed into his robes like stuffed sausage, and if the mysterious donor wasnât already ten minutes late. Nearly fifteen. He sighed, glancing up at the clock on the wall for the hundredth time.
âDid I miss them, Grace?â he asked the receptionist witch, leaving his position behind the desk to stand in front of it.
âWho, Mr. Potter?â
âIâm not exactly sure, I wasnât given specifics,â he said, âOnly to be here at 10 am sharp to greet someâŠold, rich, prat, and they are the ones who are late.â
âIâm not--â
âAnd why wouldnât they be? It makes perfect sense. They can just buy back the time they lost, and surely everyone else has nothing better to do than wait for them.â
âSir--â
âIâm sorry, I know, this isnât your fault,â James sighed, âItâs just the principle of it all. I understand theyâre giving us money, doing us a favor even. All that gold in a vault, and they couldnât buy themselves a watch?âÂ
âJames--â she stressed, dropping formalities to give him a look with wide eyes and a polite smile.
âSorry, youâre just trying to work. Iâll keep my mouth shut, donât worry,â he teased, turning back around to resume his waiting for the selfish, rude, prick, he was supposed to be meeting, but his pasted-on smile quickly faded from his face. âNo.â he whispered under his breath, so soft James barely registered he had spoken at all.Â
The years had been kind to Sirius Black.Â
Too kind. Too. Kind.
Dark curls skimming his shoulders now, and skin more golden than James remembered it being five years ago, like he had just finished a holiday. Well-fitted grey suit and a black tie, expensive robes draped over his shoulders with casual elegance. The same dark eyelashes. The same cocky smirk. The same burning in his finger tips, confident voice suddenly caught in his throat at the sight of Sirius.
Nearly twenty-five, and James felt all of seventeen again. Or nineteen.
âBy all means, please continue. I am eager to hear what was coming next after old, rich, prat,â Sirius said, counting off the descriptors on his fingertips, âUnfortunately, only two of those things are correct.â
âSo you admit youâre a prat,â James said instantly, unable to stop himself.
âI was admitting to being old,â Sirius responded, rolling up the sleeve of his robes to reveal a gold watch with a handsome teal face. âAs you can see, I do own a watch, and I am perfectly on time, early even. My correspondence indicated I would arrive at half-ten.â
James felt insane staring at Sirius, starched Healer robes becoming hotter and more stifling by the minute, âYour correspondence said ten.â
âDid it?â
âI--â James didnât have a rebuttal. He did not see the letter, he hadnât even known who this investor was going to be and was merely following instructors from Healer Bones. For all James knew, he was sent to stand out at reception a half-hour early just in case. For all James knew, no one was expected until noon, and he was just supposed to say âyes!â.Â
âNo matter. What did you say your name was?â
âI didnât.â
âSirius Black,â Sirius said, grey eyes twinkling with unreleased laughter as he put on a show for the receptionist, extending his hand to James as if they had never met. Meanwhile, Grace had made herself quite busy with paperwork, keeping a smile on her face, cheeks tinted pink.
âJames Potter.â James extended his hand to meet Siriusâs, shaking it briefly. Black didnât break eye contact, their warm palms meshing together. âWelcome to St. Mungoâs, we are soâŠhonored to have you,â he managed. If Sirius was going to put on a show, so was James.Â
âAre you a Healer here?â
He pulled his hands away from Siriusâs, carefully placing both behind his back, âTrainnee, and given the responsibility of greeting you. If you can follow me, Mr. Black, Healer Bones, and Healer Fletscher are waiting for you, and will be thrilled to speak with you further.â
âOh, but we were just getting to know each other.â
âWhat a shame,â James replied, with a fake smile, and watched as Sirius rolled his eyes in response now that they were further away from reception, walking through the double doors together.Â
It was primal.
But James could smell him. Feel him as they walked in pace, shoulders brushing against one another, perhaps intentionally. Every inch of James was screaming, and he barely contained his sigh of relief once he saw the faces of his supervisors, rushing to greet Sirius and make a good impression.
âMr. Black, we are so pleased you could make time for us today,â Healer Bones said, presenting her hand to Sirius. James had to stifle his own eye-roll as Healer Bonesâs cheeks even flushed as Sirius began speaking. Because why wouldnât they?
The charm.
The smile.
James knew. Of course, James knew. Even after five years, of no contact-- not a letter, not a run-in on the streets of Diagon Alley, nothing-- James knew how disarming Sirius Black could be without saying a single word.Â
James had made a vow, though, at the front of an aisle, his family and friends gathered around him, holding hands with a beautiful, kind, caring, woman, that the night before his wedding was the last time. And it was.Â
A marriage.
A war.
A child, who was now almost five years old.Â
James kept his vow, staying clear of Sirius, no matter how many times a tiny thought crept into the back of his mind, wondering where he was, how he was, what he was doing, who he spent his time with, every question under the sun. And now Sirius was here, wiggling his way into his supervisorsâs minds the way he had done with James.Â
Good luck getting him to leave.
Healer Bones turned into puddy in Siriusâs palm, Healer Fletscher seemed to be standing up straighter, gesturing proudly and broadly to the conference room, talking in a voice much louder and lower than he usually did. Did James look the same when he began to unravel around Sirius?Â
Absolutely foolish?
âI hope youâll forgive my lateness, I was merely engrossed in conversation with Mr. Potter here, and completely lost track of the time,â Siriusâs voice cut into Jamesâs thoughts.
So he was late. Bloody prick.
âNo trouble at all. I am glad to hear Mr. Potter was a pleasure. He is one of our finest trainees, has a bright future ahead of him,â Healer Fletscher said.Â
âIs that so?â Sirius asked, tilting his head and looking at James. âWell, then Iâd love to take this opportunity and have Mr. Potter give me a tour of the hospital. Hear more about this bright future and, of course, the future of our collaboration together.âÂ
âI really donât think that's necessary,â James said quickly, âHealer Bones, didnât you say you wanted me--â but James stopped short, noticing the expression on his supervisorâs face that clearly indicated shut up, if he wants a tour, youâre giving him the tour.
âNothing that canât wait until this afternoon, if you donât mind, Potter,â she said, unblinking.Â
James smiled, thinking he would rather die than be left alone with Sirius Black, âOf course.â
If Sirius heard the nearly pathetic, whispered whine James made in the back of his throat, sounding an awful lot like his toddler when he didnât get his way as he walked back down the hallway to begin the tour, he didnât say anything.
Just smirked.
Dragon hide boots clicking on the tile floor as they made it past the double doors once more.
âYou know who I am, you twat.â James remarked, as soon as they were out of earshot and heading into the magical elevators to the second floor. All facades dropped.
âSure, I do, Jason.â
âYouâve been to the hospital before, you donât need a bloody tour,â Â
âMaybe,â he mused.
âAnd I knew you were late. Fifteen minutes! Youâre such a bloody arsehole.â
âNow, thatâs no way to speak to someone who is about to generously donate hundreds of galleons to this hospital.â
âWhat are you doing here anyway? Sudden change of heart and surge of kindness? Quarter-life crisis? Finally got bored of tucking yourself in with your piles of money and thought youâd take pity on some sick kids? Good publicity? Need to clear the Black name? Or did you just come here to see me?â
âYour ego is showing, Potter. Careful, someone might notice.â
âYouâre one to talk. People have jobs to do, you know. This is a hospital, with sick people. Who need us. We canât just drop everything to cater to you--And this is the Magical Maladies and Injuries Wing, it has approximately 200 beds, and is usually our most impacted unit.â James said, half-heartedly gesturing to the wing as a small group of Healers walked by them, nodding to Sirius, â--and your empty promise to build a new bloody ward or cure Dragon Pox, or whatever else you told them you would do. Itâs rude, and itâs cruel, and--â
âAre you going to let me speak?â
âNot if I can help it,â James said quickly, and louder than he intended.Â
It was a strategy and the best of options James could think up in such a short time. The quickest tour known to man, and stop Sirius from talking to him. Because that was the problem.
He had been just fine. With his wife, and his kid, and his home in Godrics Hollow, and his blossoming career.
He was fine.
Sirius was the problem, and they were both better off.
Except.
âOkay, fine, this one time, you can talk because I actually do want to know the answer of how you got here, but after thatâŠâ
Sirius laughed softly, slowing down the pace of his steps, and the sense of urgency James had to get this done as soon as possible. âMy parents have both passed, my Uncle is deceased, which means the Black vault finally belongs entirely to me, and I get to choose what to do with it,â he said, âIâm looking for some worthwhile investments, and this seemed like a good place to start.â
âWhy?â
âWhy not?â Sirius asked back, shrugging, âAs you might say, I can tuck myself in with my bags of gold and donate to a hospital that is in need at the same time. Thereâs more than enough to go around.â
â...Galleons?â
âYes,â Sirius stated simply, âMerlin knows I donât need all of it.â
âWell, now I feel like the arsehole.â
âGood.â
âI take it back.â
Sirius grinned, as they stepped into the elevator to the third floor, and his heart turned upside down in his chest. It was just a smile.
This was just a tour.
You have a life. You have a wife.Â
âYou really didnât know I worked here?â James asked cautiously, all too aware of how stupid he sounded.Â
For Merlinâs Sake.
âNo,â Sirius said, âThat was a pleasant surprise.â
âOh.â pleasant.Â
âWhy did you decide to become a Healer?â
James swallowed, taken aback at the question, and looked down at the floor, running a hand through his hair, âI was forced to go into hidingâŠand itâs a helpless feeling to know people are out there fighting and youâre trapped inside, and so many people were injured and killedâŠI just told myself if I got out alive, Iâd try to save more lives in the future to make up for it.â
âHow noble.â
âI was being sincere.â
âSo was I,â Sirius stopping their walk in the middle of the hallway, just outside a group of patient rooms. âFor what itâs worth, Iâm glad you're okay.â
âNot worth anything,â James replied briskly, tugging at the stiff collar of his robes, and pulling down the sleeves.Â
âStop pulling. They look good on you.â
âOn the right, youâll see a wing dedicated in the name of Griselda S. Harrington, she was a Healer who--â James began loudly.Â
âItâs just you and me now, Potter.â
âExactly.â
âHowâs your wife?â he quipped.
âExactly,â James repeated and stopped in his tracks at the end of the hallway near the annex. âCan we justâŠcan I just give you a tour? Can I just fulfill this obligation I have to appease the hospital, and you can give us your money, and we can go back toâŠâ
âPretending the other doesnât exist?â Sirius finished, with a raise of his eyebrow. James closed his eyes and inhaled deeply. Was that what he was doing? âThat wasâŠnice, wasnât it?âÂ
He felt Siriusâs hand on the side of his face and opened his eyes again. Siriusâs robe sleeve was hanging down his arm, and just beneath the cuff of his shirt sleeve, at this angle, James could make out the beginnings of a tattoo. That was new.Â
What else is new?
âI donât need nice,â Sirius said, but James grabbed Siriusâs wrist, taking his hand off his face and pushing it down. âHm. I guess I didnât realize you did. Guess somethings change, PotterâŠâ
Forgive me.
âLetâs take the stairs this time around,â James offered, inclining his head to the door they were closer to, rather than making their way back toward the elevators.
âI canât care, Potter.âÂ
Forgive me, please.
James pulled Siriusâs arm roughly through the doors before shoving him against the wall of the stairwell. It was satisfying to see grey eyes grow wide with surprise; to hear Siriusâs breathing hitch just slightly. James slotted one of his legs between Siriusâs, grinding his hips into Siriusâs and biting at his ear.Â
âP-Potter,â Sirius gasped, head inclining backward onto the wall. Five years later, and maybe this time James could finally have the upper hand.Â
Jamesâs hand moved slowly down Siriusâs chest, expensive dress shirt beneath his fingers, until he reached the waistband of his trousers secured with a dragonhide belt. Gold buckle.Â
He pulled the it upward, unhooking it, the metal prong clanging against the frame of the buckle.
âPotter,â Sirius said again lowly, head still against the wall, chest rising and falling rapidly. One of his hands on Jamesâs forearm.Â
âHm?
âThis is--â James undid the fly of Siriusâs trousers. How easy they fell to the ground, sitting crumpled around Siriusâs ankles, undoubtedly expensive material simply ruined, collecting Merlin knows what else from the stairwell floor. Bare thighs covered in dark, dark hair.
âYou were saying, pretty boy?â James asked, before pressing his hand firmly against the visible bulge in Siriusâs briefs. âAbout not needing nice? You think I need nice?â
âI donât, I didnât--â Sirius breathed, but couldnât manage the rest, Jamesâs mouth cutting off his words. Tongue darting deep into Siriusâs mouth with such force, he felt Siriusâs grip tighten around Jamesâs arm.Â
This was better.
The moaning, the dark curls sticking to the wall behind his head, crisp white shirt pulled halfway up his torso.Â
âYouâre going to be death of me, I think, Black,â
James wanted nothing more than to make a mess of this man.Â
âI can live with that.â

like i really dont think ya understand the severity of the abuse- even aside from the sexual abuse-
i have bpd and come from a home where im not validated very well (obviously, bc thats what makes ppl bpd in the first place). i meet this person who validates me in every way i could possibly imagine or want (love bombing). they pretend to like me so much that they start to become like me and pick up traits of mine they like the most. they know they have a hold over me and power over me bc i didnt know how to validate myself and they were the only source of validation i had. so then they go ahead and start invalidating me and acting like im less of me and theyre somehow more of me. i knew who i was deep down but suddenly i felt unseen again and silenced and pushed into a corner. and then they act like im a horrible person (discarding phase) and serve me an entirely different version of me thats not who i am, but bc i didnt know how to validate myself and was reliant on them (something thats particularly important for this type of abuse to work), it made me question myself and who i was and what i was like and what my intentions were and what my actions were and if i could even trust my own reality all over again when i really didnât fucking need to since i knew who i was deep down, but they somehow convinced me they knew me better. because i was reliant on them. i dont think you understand how much that fucks with you.
#vent#this is why i kind of find it hard not to cling to the term 'narcissistic abuse' since this is verbatim what happens in that type of abuse.#based on everything ive read.#again. i dont personally think it necessarily has anything to do w ppl with npd. narcissism as a term existed before the diagnosis.#it means someone whos selfish and only looks out for themselves and will do anything for themselves even at the expense of others.#and literally EVERYTHING ELSE people online have said about this type of abuse happened.#the smear campaign. the sending people after me to stalk me and get info out of me. the apparently never leaving me alone as evidenced#by that anon recently.#oh and- cant forget accusing me of everything they did but 10x worse somehow.#if a certain type of abuse can be predicted so well and so many people have had the same experience or similar enough experiences#i dont see why it doesnt deserve its own term. we just have to divorce it from the idea of npd. maybe give it a different name.#because its really not *just* emotional abuse. sorry.#its so much more than that and so much more strategic.#and this is why even though i didnt think of them as being exactly like zero before i still thought of them as being vampiric.#bc they tried to drain me of my energy and who i was.#but nowadays i can really see the similarities. if only they were rich and had institutional power and paid politicans to oppress#minorities. then theyd be the same person. but im not gonna sit here and pretend thats the case. they're similar to him in so many ways but#theyre not the same person. im obviously able to fucking recognize that.#in spite of them pretending like i cant.#now if that ends up secretly being the case... well....#might be harder for me to divorce them from being similar lmao.#but so far i dont have enough evidence to confidently say that.

I firmly believe that Kabru is autistic but masks so hard that heâs convinced himself and (almost) everyone around him that heâs neurotypical.
That manâs special interest is people and how they work, but he just thinks itâs him Being So Good At Socializing â like he doesnât spend 95% of his time people watching and adjusting his personality in response to the traits he witnesses and obsessing over the intricacies of human interaction while mapping an ever growing relationship chart in his head. For fun. He even admits it in the manga!
Like, look at him!!!
Itâs such a shame that â because heâs the narrative foil to Laios and his interest is generally considered more âsocially acceptableâ in both their world and our own â more people donât realize this about him. Heâs constantly misinterpreted as a horribly manipulative person who only acts the way he does to use the people around him, when thatâs explicitly shown to not be the case at all. Kabru is naturally empathetic and is almost always thinking about other people, regardless of whether or not theyâre right there with him or a thousand miles away.
I mean, his most defining motivation is his desire to do everything he can to avoid another tragedy like the one at Utaya. Someone who doesnât care wouldnât have a goal like that, and they most certainly wouldnât go about it the way he does. Heâs constantly working to help people who can help everyone else and tries so hard to make sure that anyone who seems like a threat is actually someone he needs to worry about before doing anything about it. His supposed aversion to Laios is only because of the ridiculous trolley problem heâs set up in his own head.
Outside of that, he (rather justifiably) hates monsters but is desperate to understand Laiosâ love for them and his apparently most selfish goal in getting close to the guy was literally just to become friends with him.
When heâs interacting with the canaries and they imply that theyâre going to take him and all of his friends to the West, his first thought is of Rin and how much sheâd hate to be stuck in the place that gave her so many bad memories.
He helps Kuro learn Common when Mickbell is asleep and firmly looks forward to the day that the half-foot and Kuro can communicate properly so that their relationship can get properly started without any miscommunication.
And he understands Mithrun with only a handful of weeks AT BEST interacting with him, getting enraged when the elf seems to give up and immediately trying to help him find a new motivation for life.
Iâm excited just thinking about the day that Kabru starts unmasking more and more around his friends â both new and old â because if being with my current friend group has taught me anything, itâs that hanging out with anyone so unabashedly themselves is bound to make you more comfortable with yourself too. Itâs part of the reason why I like Labru so much! Thereâs something nice about imagining them hanging out in the throne room or laying in the grass outside and talking for hours on end about their special interests. They might not strictly understand what the other finds so fascinating about monsters or people, but they can grasp that shared feeling of love.
They probably influence each other in really good ways too, with Kabru helping Laios figure out what people are thinking even when it doesnât make sense or Laios helping Kabru understand that not everyone and everything needs to be analyzed a thousand times over. They both get to learn that there are people like them and people who will love them without them ever having to change a thing about themselves. They deserve to know that theyâre fine the way they are.
#I have so many more thoughts about these two#like how Laios is actually the one who couldnât really care about people outside of his immediate friends and family#that his love is the one that would burn down the world if it meant the people he cared about got to be as safe and happy as they should be#always as themselves#never as the corrupted versions of them in their nightmares or by the winged lions distortions#which is how Kabru would learn to be more selfish and needy#encouraged to act on his own desires and help other people at the same time#these two have ruined me#especially Kabru#because Iâm predictable and my other two favorite characters are Tachihara Michizou and Nara Shikamaru#dungeon meshi#delicious in dungeon#dungeon meshi kabru#kabru of utaya#dungeon meshi laios#laios touden#dungeon meshi rin#rinsha fana#dungeon meshi mickbell#mickbell#dungeon meshi kuro#kuro#dungeon meshi mithrun#mithrun#labru

Can I request someone for Viktor? Maybe established relationship between reader and viktor where while heâs healing (?) in the box (I forgot what it was called), while the hexcore reacted negatively to Mel (extended spikes to her), it responded positively toward reader? Like it wanted them near it? Sorry if this is weird
You didnât know what you were looking at in the beginning. The purple and gold accented box like structure that easily towered over you and Mel, pulsated as though it were a sentient creature, and resting inside it with only his face visible was your beloved Viktor as he looked to be in a deep slumber and not teetering between life and death.
âWhat is this thing.â You asked as all you felt that you could do was stare at Viktorâs face and hope to whoever listened that heâd live, that heâd survive so you could embrace him like lovers did in times of crisis to be assured that he was okay, that he wasnât going to leave you so unfairly when he had so much left to do. Not your Viktor, he was yours to keep and to treasure however you could, even if it meant displeasing a higher power but you were selfish and wanted to love Viktor for far longer then what you were already given.
âItâs the hexcore, itâs evolving at a rapid rate which is a concern, but itâs the singular thing keeping Viktor alive as of this moment.â Mel replies as she placed her hand upon your shoulder when she saw the look of uncertainty and fear within your eyes the more you looked upon the man you were so close to loosing. To Mel in that moment you looked like a person who was already in the process of making funeral arrangements, a thing that no one should ever have to think about in such detail when it came to burying a loved one, but yet was so desperate to be proven wrong and to be happy about it as it would mean you didnât have to say goodbye, at least not yet.
âHeâs healing y/n.â She reassures you softly, squeezing your shoulder, âheâs not leaving you yet, not if the hexcore keeping him alive has anything to say about that.â And at the sound of your name the box like structure seemed to let out a kind of purr? It startled you both as you looked towards the box with similar thoughts starting to form in both of your heads.
âDid that thing just purr?â You said.
âI believe it did and to your name as well, how peculiar.â Mel reaffirms your theory as her face creases into one of deep thought. You on the other hand felt the need to go towards it, also it as if something was tugging at you, encouraging you to get in close to the box like structure and be close to Viktor however you possibly could and so you took a brave step forwards as the box only seemed to hum in response to your presence. However Mel grasped your elbow and tired to pull you away from the thing, remembering how violently it had reacted towards her the drift time she got too close, only for the box to shot spikes out in her direction as though seeing her as a threat to you.
The box anomaly seemed to grumble and groan in distrust and weariness as Mel was quick to pull her hand away from your arm, watching on as the thing encasing Viktor seemed to calm down to a gentle purring and cooing whilst glowing a softer light to welcome you.
âSpeak to it.â She encourages.
You swallow thickly as you began to say the first thing that came to mind. âViktor? I donât know if you can hear me in there but itâs me y/n, youâre dorodaya.â The box once again purred at your name and this time you couldnât help but smile softly, feeling as though it was Viktor you were talking to and not the box keeping him alive. You couldnât explain it but there was a familiarity to it that made you feel warm, comforted and all other emotions that you had linked to Viktor, suddenly the box felt more like home to you then it did five minutes ago.
âYes itâs me my darling.â Your feet were pretty much leading you towards the box by themselves at the point and you didnât feel it necessary to fight against it, not when its presence brought you the same amount of comfort and peace that Viktor did whenever he smiled and or laughed, looking ethereal as he did so which only made you fall harder for your beloved scientist. âIâm right here, Iâm okay but I need to know if youâre okay my love. Can you do that for me?â You asked softly and once you were within a substantial distance from the box white tendrils began to emerge from its surface, almost as if someone was breaking through to breath, and they stretched out towards you like a hand waiting for you to take into your own.
You looked to Mel who smiled back at you, gesturing you to touch it and you looked back to the outside tendrils that waiting eagerly for your touch, though not before looking up at Viktorâs face and smiling softly, as you built up the courage to extend a hand out and intertwine your fingers with it as it enclosed its hold on you.
âYouâre okay my sweet Viktor.â You whispered to yourself as you allowed yourself to be pulled towards the box where more white tendrils broke through the surface to touch you in someway, as though drawing you into a long overdue hug. âYouâre okay.â You echoed as your face pressed against the surface of the box, closing your eyes as the initial cold sensation became one of warmth, making you melt even further into its embrace while as even more white tendrils latched themselves to your legs and thighs; anchoring you to this one spot as it chirped in your ear happily.
Your Viktor was alive you could feel it the more you were pressed against the surface pulsating, almost breathing surface of the box, you could feel his warmth upon you without him having to hold you; and it was almost as if you could hear his voice inside your head as it whispered of reassurance that your beloved Viktor was okay and that was more then enough to have you spare a few unshed tears in silent relief.

Youâve got the same eyes as your mother | Riddle Rosehearts animatic đč|
âââ
Iâm not really happy with how this turned out but Iâm gonna be honest, Iâm just doing anything possible to avoid having to work on stuff I should he working on and drawing is suddenly difficult again, but we keep fighting! Fuck it we ballâŒïž
(Did you notice I didnât want to draw the Heartslabyul boys? I love them dearly but theyâre my least favorites to draw by FAR, because Ace ily but that hair makes my hands want to explode)
Anyways, here is my little Riddle analisys! Its so tragic to see how much like his mom heâs become. Riddle really isnât mean or evil, heâs trying to help his dorm in basically the only way he knows how. Perhaps it also shows how abuse victims can become abusers themselves, but on a smaller scale? I am not well read on this topic though, so I hope thatâs not insensitive to say. Itâs just cool to see how most of the Overblotters become like the people that played a big part in their lives. Azul becomes a âbullyâ, Jamil becomes a âmasterâ who uses others like servants, Leona becomes dismissive of others, and Riddle becomes like his mom. There are parallels there I think!
You know, Riddle is a very interesting character. Out of all the Overblotters, Iâd say heâs the least âevilâ person (thatâs not to say that the others are evil), in the way that heâs the least selfish, and heâs also the only one who properly apologized. Though, the others also apologized in their own way of course.
Riddle really convinced himself that was he was doing was good, that he was in the right and that he was only protecting the dorm and teaching them the proper way. One of my favorite moments from book 1 was when Riddle cried and apologized, and said that he really wanted to eat that chestnut cake, and he doesnât like most of the rules! Also of course the line âwhat rule do I have to follow to make my heart stop hurtingâ, it truly is devastating.
Sometimes I wonder how Riddle feels when he looks in the mirror, and he sees someone so similar to his mother. He probably feels conflicted, right? He loves her and knows sheâs highly succesful, but why does he feel sick at the thought of him being similar to her? I find it interesting how dual and contradictory the overblotters are, and Riddle is no different. I have this headcanon that his housewarden uniform is modeled slightly after his mom, and after his Overblot he changes his uniform, and it resembles her less. I really like Riddleâs character, but I donât think about him that much. Maybe I should do that more often?
I hope you guys like my interpretation of him and my rambling, and if you didnât Iâd love to hear your interpretation! And if I got something wrong, please correct me in the comments!!

I think Crowley falls into two of the classic pitfalls of people who see that the problems are systemic long before anyone else around them does: impatience and despair.
(Yes yes I know, âCrowley was an optimist.â Book Crowley is an optimist. I donât think that line is particularly useful for analyzing TV Crowley. Stay with me here.)
Let it be said that 95% of the time, Crowley has the patience of a fucking saint (ssh donât tell him) around Aziraphale. He knows that Aziraphale needs to build his little plausible deniability rationales in order to do something that they both know he wants to do (because itâs right or simply because he would enjoy it) but Heaven wouldnât approve of. And most of the time, Crowley is happy to help Aziraphale get there, asking the questions Aziraphale is afraid to ask, offering excuses and justifications until Aziraphale finds one he can accept. He does a lot of work of parsing out when ânoâ means âyou havenât convinced me yet, keep tryingâ and pushing through all the âIâm an angel, youâre a demon, weâre on opposite sides and mine is the good oneâ talk that Aziraphale gets up to all the way through s1. Because he knows that Aziraphale doesnât really believe that stuff, right? He just needs some time to talk himself around his own cognitive dissonance, and most of the time Crowley is not only happy to facilitate that but sees it as part of his role in their relationship.
But then when the chips are down and Aziraphale is still dithering, thatâs when he gets frustrated, because HOW CAN YOU NOT SEE whatâs been blindingly obvious to Crowley for millennia, that Heaven is just as cruel as Hell and no one is going to step in and fix it because the system is working as intended. And thatâs when he says things like âhow can someone as clever as you be so stupid?â Which is a surefire way not to convince the person youâre arguing with of anything.
And then thereâs the despair. I really think the running away thing is not about cowardice or selfishness or some kind of unhealthy level of avoidance of hard or scary things, but about hopelessness. Theyâve spent their lives avoiding very very real danger, and of the two of them Crowley is much more constantly aware of the danger that they are in from both sides. Yes heâs hypervigilant but he is also almost always right about the amount of danger they are in. Trying to get as far away from danger as possible is not an irrational response, even if itâs not always the correct one for a given situation.
When you feel like youâre the only person who sees how rotten the system is, how it needs to be dismantled entirely, but you are also VERY aware of how strong the people in power are and how ruthless they are about crushing dissent because you experienced it personallyâŠwell that gets fucking depressing after a while. Because even if you think the whole system needs to go, that feels like a completely unattainable goal when it seems like no one else even sees the problem, or if they see it, they are too afraid to do anything about it. And can you blame them? You know exactly what happens to people who speak up.
So itâs very easy for your goals to shrink from systemic change to just taking yourself and the people you love and finding somewhere for them to be as safe as possible, for as long as the system will let you exist. Because reforming the system is a foolâs errand, and dismantling it entirely seems impossible. I think this is where Crowley is at. Even if on some level he knows itâs an imperfect solution, because both of them have enough compassion that they would feel guilty abandoning Earth and humans to save themselves, and because Heaven and Hell really can find them anywhere in the universe. He just doesnât see another option.
And look, I think Aziraphale is 100% wrong that Heaven can be reformed. But he is not wrong to want to stay and fight to make things better, even if it means sacrificing the Earthly comforts he loves so much, and even if it means doing it without Crowley by his side.
Ultimately they both need each other. Aziraphale needs Crowley for his willingness to ask questions and to see the scale of the problem, even if itâs terrifying. But Crowley needs Aziraphale for his hope, his stubborn determination to believe things can and should be better, and to fight for that. In the right hands, hope is an enormously powerful weapon.

chubby! virgin! reader thinking that being a late bloomer is the worst thing that could ever happen to her! Every one of her friends knows what it's like to have sex while she's the only virgin left on planet earth. when she rants about it to best friend! gojo satoru, the man everyone wants to fuck (including her) he tells her that if she wants, he can take her virginity for her. sure enough she agrees, not because she's in love with him or anything of course not, he could never see her as more than a friend and she's come to terms with that (doesn't mean she can't be a little selfish). she keeps reminding herself that he is simply doing her a favor as her best friend while he lovingly kisses the side of her neck and leaves dark hickeys on the skin, marking her up for others to see. she tries not to let her heart skip a beat while he slowly kisses her as his long fingers thrust gently in and out of her, fingertips pressing against her sweet spot. this is just what friends do for each other she tells herself as he lines his cock up to her slick entrance and slowly sinks inside of her. what she doesn't expect is for him to be gazing so tenderly at her, for his hand to be holding hers as his hips rock back and forth and she doesn't expect sex with her best friend to feel so good. it's almost sinful how good his cock feels, his tip is always just pushing up against her g-spot and making her eyes roll into the back of her head and her toes curl at the new intense feeling. He stops once she cums for him, not that she's disappointed he didn't cum inside of her or anything crazy like that.
After her first time she can't stop thinking about sex and now she can't stop thinking about gojo, not that she could before. but whenever she sees him now a throb goes right to her pussy and her panties soak themselves as the memories come rushing back. it's unfair to him that she's thinking such dirty thoughts about him, he did her a favor after all and thinking about her best friend like this was wrong. so obviously she begins to avoid him. opting for hanging out alone rather than with the rowdy white haired male. but it's not enough because he invades her dreams at night and she wakes up with the urge to slip a hand under her panties.
eventually gojo realizes what's going on of course and he confronts her, asking her why she's been so distant ever since they hooked up. he just wants to know if she's been seeing someone else, the thought makes his gut twist and his mind race with thoughts of who it could be but instead she just looks down and admits her feelings for him, confessing that the reason she's been so avoidant is because she's in love with him and her body has a physical reaction whenever he's around. she admits that she knows she isn't his type but wishes if possible for them to at least be friends with benefits.
to which he agrees.
#red writesâ à©âĄËł#idk chat#I think im gonna write this fr fr#gojo x reader#jjk smut#gojo satoru smut#gojo x chubby reader#okay bc gojo just hooking up with her and no one else meanwhile she is absolutely elated at the thought of even being on his roster#she's so naive thinking he doesn't want her in a serious way and he's just here for a good time#he wants to claim her and make her his and have everyone know that she belongs to him#she's so oblivious!! he leaves hickeys all over her body for everyone to see and she thinks it's just a normal part of sex#like no honey he's physically claiming you#but I think a certain point she confesses to him that it's too much to just have sex with him and she gains enough courage to cut things of#only for him to explain to her how he's planned on being her one and only for a long time

Astro notesđđ„
Just my observations :)đ
⥠Scorpio mercury or degree is the definition of elephant in the room, itâs like they try their best to make you uncomfortable with their words , on the brighter side I love how deep their minds are
âĄSaturn in the 6th/2nd could go a long time without eating and not even notice
⥠One of my friends had a baby today(Aries moon) and sheâs already threatening people not to play with her childđ cute tho
⥠I feel like the only Libra placement that doesnât try to be likable is Libra moons, their personality is so lovely for the most partâșïž Iâve only met men with this placement and WHEW they are sooooooo charmingđ„Ž
⥠Iâve noticed guys with Venus conjunct their sun can come off a little âš even if theyâre not theyâre just in touch with their feminine side. Also guys with Venus conjunct moon could have this energy as well just more subtle
⥠Aquarius in 7th will always give black sheep energy, no matter how âpopularâ they are itâs always something that differentiates them from everyone else, could be known for doing questionable things
⥠Taurus season I see lots of people getting lip piercings but lots of new tats and piercings in general
⥠11th house has to do with hopes and dreams, mars is your passion and drive, having mars in 11th synastry with someone with someone could mean having fantasyâs about them, being fwb, or being friends with someone but wanting to be more. Me and my friend both have this synastry and the tension is HIGH especially with her Jupiter conjunction to my marsđ„Ž
âĄItâs not surprise Saturn babies look soo good in slicked back hairstyles since it rules hair and restrictions
âĄAlso they werenât joking when they said prominent Saturn placements could make you a potheadđł I thought I was a smoker but whew they SMOKE đš
⥠Aries moon moms are so PUSHY. Theyâre always trying to dictate your emotions like your not your own human then get insecure when you cut contact with them. And she never takes your emotions seriously till you act out of character, Itâs like she never wants you to rest so draining. Also they can be intimidating/scary in a way especially from the stories the Aries moon child shares about themđ
did they lie tho?
⥠Scorpio moons could also resonate but I feel like with Aries moms(sidereal Pisces moon)thereâs a innocence to it like they truly donât recognize their toxic traits until you confront them about it but with Scorpio moonâs mom (sidereal Libra moon) they KNOW exactly what theyâre doing when they manipulate. And other people could easily alter ur motherâs perception of you, very wishywashy. They type to be jealous of their kids especially if they have a daughter
⥠Chiron in 12th could get accused of things they didnât do allll the time , it gets to a point where they donât even try to defend themselves anymore cause itâs like no one listens why waste your energy đ a good example is Micheal Jackson
⥠Gemini moon children have moms that donât hold backđ„Ž very blunt especially with some Aries energy added
⥠I giggle every time I remember Park Jimin has a Gemini moon I just know he has the best comebacks and inside jokesđ (Jimin if youâre seeing this letâs be friends plzđ)
⥠Iâve noticed with Virgo moons children may see one parent more fit to be a parent than the other at some point in their life. Doesnât mean the other is a shitty parent or anything but if they had to decide to live with one of them theyâll already know whođč
⥠Also Virgo placements why do yâall constantly complain about something you could easily solve? I see this more in undeveloped Virgo placements
⥠Leo moon children could have mothers that are selfish in one way or another, wheither it be their time, money, or love
âĄJupiter in 3rd (natal and transit) what is home? Iâve been to so many places in my city that I didnât know existed, I also got a đ delivery job so Iâm on the go all the time, but since my natal Jupiter is in my 8th itâs kinda a darker transit for me- I literally hit and ran two people in counting đ (Iâm not even a bad driver they happened on the same week!đ) communication especially over the phone has been vile omg the amount of times Iâve been cussed out by strangers otp is crazy. Also Iâve lost old friends /gained new one
Thatâs all for nowđ

Sunflower (Adoration) || Leona
MEANING: âThis radiant bloom is seen as a symbol of adoration due to its resemblance to the sun itself â a universal source of warmth and affection. Furthermore, its ability to turn towards the sun throughout the day has led it to become associated with loyalty. The unwavering devotion displayed by these flowers mirrors qualities valued in human relationships.â
A/N: I realized I havenât wrote about Twisted Wonderland on this blog yet cause I donât even have a masterlist đ”âđ« reader is gender neutral and graphics by @/firefly-graphics!
â FLOWER SPECIAL MASTERLIST â
âAre you going to miss me when I leave?â
Leona didnât say anything, the only acknowledgment you received being a twitch of his ear. He had his head plopped down on your lap while he took one of his daily naps, bringing you onto his bed as one of his sought out pillows (which has become more of a routine lately). Your fingers combed through his hair absentmindedly, straining your ears to see if you could hear anything close to a purr (it wouldnât happen, but you were determined nonetheless).
âI know that it probably wonât happen anytime soon, but itâll happen eventually right?â You rambled on. âCrowley keeps saying itâs a priority, but itâs also Crowley- I donât hold my breath when it comes to anything dealing with him.â Which was true- you wouldnât be surprised if you found yourself still here when Ace and Deuce finally graduate, which was saying something considering theyâre only freshmen. But you still couldnât find yourself to be fully upset at the thought.
You missed your world. You missed your friends, family, sometimes the normalcy. You did miss it.
But your heart was torn at the thought of leaving everyone here too. And you didnât see yourself getting the best of both worlds when Crowley would eventually send you back. When you leave Twisted Wonderland, youâre leaving everything behind- including Leona.
It was still baffling at how he fell for you, and vice versa. He was rude, selfish, and beyond lazy- but he still found a way to win you over. It was still a mystery to everyone at how you two got together.
âWhat are you going to do when I have to go back to my world?â You didnât catch that you didnât refer to it as your home. âWhoâs going to be your new pillow when Iâm gone?â You chuckled, but your heart really was twisting in pain.
It was hard to imagine that one day you would wake up without Grim curled up next to your side, or without the freshman duo showing up to your doorstep with whatever trouble they found themselves in. Or without any of the magic that youâve come to love in this world.
Or without Leona.
That hurt the most.
Leona wasnât a gentleman. Heâs ill-mannered, crude, has a sour attitude- the complete opposite of the picture perfect partner. But the side that you were able to see overshadowed those qualities. He shows you his love in your own way, and that was more than enough for you.
You were word vomiting at this point, your insecurities taking over your thoughts and making you ramble. You could already see him with someone else, probably making him happier than you could-
âAre you done yet?â
Leonaâs glare made you reel back, his nose mere inches from yours (when did he even move?). His eyes held the same fire that youâve seen before in the Spelldive tournaments.
âWhat makes you think that I would be so quick to let you go?â
He scowled deepened as you tried to scramble away, your back already hitting the bed frame. Your brain was short circuiting and couldnât come up with anything when Leona scoffed, then made a move to grab at your hand, pulling you forward.
He still had his angry look, but then he sighed, his face relaxing a bit. âLook, I know that youâll be sent back to your world- Iâm not stupid. But you must think of me as so low to think that Iâll go after someone else, and so quickly at that.â
âI know that youâre not dumb Leona, but-â
âSo why ask me a dumb question?â He sucked his teeth, pushing you down onto the sheet with him towering over you.
He still had a bit of a fiery gaze, but his features softened as his eyes broke away from yours. âWhat makes you think that I would want to put up with someone else besides you? The person thatâs been by me for this long. Why think of yourself as so replaceable?â
Leona has never been the soft type- you werenât expecting any of the typical romance that youâve seen before. He wasnât the best person when it came to dealing with emotions (as was shown during his overblot, but you donât think any of the housewardens know how to deal either), but he was someone that you knew wouldnât lie to you and would still be there for you in his own way.
He shows his love in his own style, and it was perfect for you.
But there would be rare moments where he would slowly start to let his guard down with just the both of you, and this just so happened to be one of them.
âYou leaving doesnât mean the end of us. I wonât let that happen.â He spoke with conviction.
Leona said it before that he never met someone like you. Granted, that statement wasnât given in the best context when he first said it to you. He meant it and still does in this moment. You give him a headache, disrupt his naps, and you make problems appear for him even when it doesnât involve him-
But youâve also been the only person to fully believe in him. To not just think of him as a scummy second-rate prince. You saw Leona as Leona- you saw him as an equal.
Even if Leona could find that someone else, they wouldnât be you, so it wasnât even worth it.
âWeâll cross that bridge when we get there- together.â
âRightâŠtogether.â
Leona looked pleased at your acceptance and kept you pinned down, nuzzling into your neck with his tail swaying. He ended up flipping you both on the side, looping his arms around your waist. âNow hurry up and calm down- youâve messed up my nap and I canât go to sleep if your heartâs about to beat out your chest.â
You laughed out an apology, settling down into a comfortable position before closing your eyes in an attempt to doze off.

You sat alone in your dimly lit room, the silence almost palpable. Your parents were away for the night. As they had been the last few nights.
You didn't blame them at all. It was hard being in, let alone living in a house that carried so much weight now. It was only a matter of time before your parents would move away. Taking you along with them, as you were still young. Just barely 21 yourself.
The only light came from the desk lamp, casting a soft glow over the envelope in your hands. It was marked with the words "Read when you're lonely," and the familiarity of your brother's handwriting stirred up a mix of emotions. You carefully peeled open the envelope, feeling the weight of the moment.
This was the first letter you were opening. It only seemed right, since you were feeling lonely.
Extremely.
As you unfolded the letter, a rush of memories flooded your mindâthe way Hajun used to write letters when he had first left home, the warmth you felt when opening them, and the excitement of the thought of another one coming soon. The endless support he gave you in those letters.
A testament to the strength your relationship. You took a deep breath, your eyes scanning the neatly written words on the page:
I'm sorry Iâm no longer there to give you a hug when you need one or to share in the laughter and tears of everyday life. I wish more than anything to be there with you, to tell you that everything will be alright and to remind you that youâre never truly alone.
I know this time is incredibly hard, and I can only imagine the weight youâre carrying. It was selfish of me to inflict this on you, but I hope you understand. You've always been understanding. And I hope you can be understanding now.
But I need you to remember that even though Iâm not physically with you, you still have remnants of me everywhere. Whenever you feel overwhelmed or lonely, reach out to those who care about you, even if itâs difficult. I hope they can help begin to fill that void.
Thereâs someone I want you to contact if you ever find yourself feeling lost or isolated. His name is Christopher. Heâs one of my closest friends, and he knows what it means to be there for someone whoâs hurting. It's been a while since I've talked to him, but I trust him completely, and I believe heâll offer you the support you need.
If anything, he'll do it out of pity. But he'll be a person in times of loneliness that you can look too.
Sometimes, a change in environment can help bring a fresh perspective and new beginnings. Knowing you, you'll want a change of pace. Something to get away from me. Consider moving to Korea. Itâs a big step, but it could be an opportunity for you to heal and find new joys. And there are people there that I believe can help you begin to heal. I know itâs not an easy decision, but I want you to be open to the possibility of finding happiness, even if it means making a major change.
I hope these words bring you some comfort and help you find the strength to face each day. Know that my love is always with you, even if Iâm not, Gremlin.
Hajun
You sat there for a moment, letting your eyes burn slightly. You looked at you clock and saw the time.
3:07 a.m.
You wondered if Chris was busy at the moment. You found yourself opening up Instagram.
You hadn't opened it up since Hajun left.
Left. It was easier to think of it like that.
You didn't want to scroll through the countless amount of edits you knew had been made. Juju had always been the favorite of the group. Rightly so, because even though you were prejudiced it was easy to see just how amazing your brother was. And it made sense that others would see that as well.
You didn't watch through any of the edits fully. But it was the first thing that popped up on your screen. With some corny ass pop song playing in the background that made you grit your teeth.
They acted as if they knew him.
We'll miss our Junebug.
You swallowed the bike that had risen in your throat.
Our?
They didn't know him. They couldn't have been going through the pain you were going through.
The anger you felt made you want to become a key board warrior. To respond to every comment and call them out on the utter bullshit.
The comments saying that "no one understands how hurt I was when I found out" or "it hurts as his number one fan" or "no one knows pain like this".
The comments with immense parasocial vibes made you sick to your stomach, and you clutched your phone as you scrolled through countless girls and guys who commented on how heartbroken they were of their husband being gone.
You had gone through that phase, it was normal even, something common in the fandoms. But at times like this it left a sour taste in your mouth. And you couldn't sit one moment to and try to empathize with them; even if you knew that sometimes people you looked up to, admired even- felt closer than those you could reach out and touch; those whose embraces were tangible.
You felt like reporting each and everyone, screaming at them.
They never knew him.
At least not like you did, not like your mom did. Your dad. His friends.
And to those who had "stumbled" across your account after doing enough research on your brother it was nearly a full on doxxing; and then spread your information- had sent you a plethora of messages that you didn't open up. You'd let them sit in your requests until the day that you went to meet your brother once more.
You went to the search bar and typed in the reason you had come to the social site to begin with.
Christopher Bang
You clicked on a page that had the blue verification.
@gnabnahc.
You scrolled through a few of his posts, not realizing a smallest smile had molded to your face.
His way of posting was similar to your brother's. Very boyfriend coded. Something you had always teased him about in the comments of your "fan" account.
"Y/N you know you're atrocious for leaving that comment." "219k people liked so I think you're wrong." "Yeah, cause they thought it was funny that you tagged Mom and Dad." "What else was I supposed to do? Allow my brother to solicit such images? I'm tired of hearing people simp over you. You're not even that great-"
Except he really was.
Your thumb stilled over a clear image of him, his birthday post froma a few days before you first called him.
26.
Your breath caught slightly as you stared at the unfamiliar face on your screen. You had never met him - his name now only being mentioned in the wake of your brotherâs death, a friend of Hajunâs you had never gotten around to knowing in his life. Yet here you were, unable to tear your eyes away from his smile.
It was strange, the way his smile seemed to reach out to you, even though he was a stranger. His lips were curved in a way that felt so effortless, as if joy came naturally to him, even in a world that had assumingly taken from him. As it tended to do for everyone.
The crinkles at the corners of his eyes hinted at a warmth that felt oddly familiar, and foreign simultaneously. You didnât know him: you had no reason to feel anything for him- especially in the mental state you were currently residing in -but there was something about that smile that tugged at something deep inside you - a place you had been trying to keep sealed off since Hajun died.
You frowned, your thumb hovering once more as if you might scroll away, but you didnât. Instead, you found yourself studying the details - the way his dimples deepened when he smiled, the slight tilt of his head as if he was caught in the middle of laughing at something. A laugh you could almost hear clearly. Light, and airy, carrying the essence of an eternal giggle rather than a deep bellowing guffaw.
His smile reminded you of the way Juju smiled.
Except the difference between Hajun's smile and Chris's was that the warmth in Chris's smile didnât just comfort you, or make you feel as if you were seen- it sparked something restless and new, like the first hint of spring after a long winter, coaxing your frozen heart to thaw slightly, even when you were sure you weren't ready to feel the warmth of the sun again.
You didnât want to feel this a draw to someone youâd never met personally, especially not now, when grief still clung to you like a second skin. But the longer you looked, the harder it was to deny the pull. It wasnât attraction, not exactly - it was more like an inexplicable need to hold onto something, anything, that didnât hurt.
And somehow, without knowing how or why, Chritopher's smile had become that something.

"Hyung! Your phone is ringing!" Jeongin's voice rang across the home to the eldest member, as he stuffed chips into his mouth while lounging on his bed.
"Innie-ah, I thought I told you to stop eating on my bed. You always leave crumbs." As he walked over to his dresser where his phone laid, Jeongin made a theatrical crunch as if proving a point to his leader.
"Ah! You're calling me messy! Our dorm is the cleanest how could you say that?" He mumbled, rolling over and opening up his secret account to scroll through edits.
Chris sighed and grabbed his phone, the call missed. When he tapped the screen, your name had popped up and immediately his heart flew to his throat.
He called you back immediately, waiting impatiently for you to pick up.
"Hello? Sorry did I wake you?"
"Ah, ah, no I promise you didn't wake me. It's only early evening over here- but wouldn't that mean it is early morning for you?
"I couldn't sleep. I'm home alone and even though I want to be alone...together. I don't want to be alone...alone."
Chris nodded. "I'm sorry Y/N, I'm sure that's really hard." Jeongin's ears perked up, his body flying into a seated position as he crawled closer to his Hyung who was now seated on the edge of the mattress. "But I'm here for you, you know?"
Jeongin tried his best to listen in, even trying to disguise his nosiness as seeking for affection, but Chris shook his head and pushed him off lightly with a light noogie to his head. Jeongin pouted and opened up a pack of gummy worms, chewing slower and more deliberately to try and listen in.
"Korea?" Chan asked, his voice raising slightly in surprise. "I mean that's a huge step but..." He nodded and Jeongin sighed, throwing himself back on the bed.
"I'm sure it will be hard. But you'll have support here. But with all the visas and stuff you'll have to have a valid reason to move...yeah...hm...I mean it could take a little bit unless you found a job...yeah..." He absentmindedly drew little doodles on his knee.
Jeongin's eyebrows scrunched. Who was the girl his leader was speaking so softly to? He could hear the slightest sound of your voice and Jeongin hmphed as he moved around again. Was his hyung dating someone?
The conversation you had with Chris went on for a while, until you decided that maybe it was time you at least try to rest your eyes.
"Good. You need to get sleep. We can talk about this when you have a clearer mind. Sleep well, Y/N."
"Goodnight." You said, hanging up. You put your phone on your desk and trekked towards your bed but looked at the small notebook that laid on it. Just one of many notebooks left.
There were hundreds and hundreds of lyrics Hajun had scribbled onto the cream-colored paper. You were grateful your parents had taken the time to raise you as a polyglot rather than just Hajun.
You seamlessly switched from English to Korean to Japanese and the occasional surprise inducing Spanish lyrics Hajun had written.
Language had always been an interest to you.
The minute Hajun had shown interest in becoming an entertainer by the age of seven, your parents had enrolled him in all types of music and dance related extracurriculars, and made you tag along as well in hopes that maybe you too would want to become a part of the entertainment industry, but rather than that you had fallen in love with tagging along to Hajun's language classes.
You credited your parents to the Korean and English knowledge you had, your mom and dad speaking the two languages throughout your childhood after reading somewhere that it was easier for children to learn languages due to brain plasticity. And due to the glories of the education system, you had taken Spanish throughout your high school years and taken quite a liking to the widely spoken language, even if you only knew it intermediately.
Hajun had been the one to teach you Japanese alongside one of his band members who was a native speaker. It was an excuse for you to chat with him regularly, and you missed that excuse when you had become a better speaker than your brother himself.
You flipped through his lyrics and wished you could have heard his voice sing these words or rap them. Or have these words overlay on a soothing melody.
Your fingers glided over imaginary piano keys, and you hummed softly. Not that you knew how to play the piano; you just enjoyed clashing a few keys together in a discordant way ever so often. But you had always been a choir kid, thanks to your parents pressuring their expectations on you. Hoping that one day you might choose to be on the same path as Hajun.
How sick and twisted may irony be.
The pages in front of you felt heavy with the weight of his unspoken words, dreams that were cut short too soon. You could almost hear his voice in your mind, the cadence of his lyrics dancing between panning between your ears. But it was just that - almost. The more you read, the more you were consumed by the silence, a silence and emptiness that gnawed at you.
A sudden pang of grief shot through your chest, sharp and undeniable. How could this be all that was left of him? Words on a page, a life that had been poured into lyrics, melodies, and dreams that would never be fulfilled. As if everything he did was for nothing? The thought twisted inside you, tightening your throat, suffocating in its cruelty.
But then, something else began to simmer beneath the surface of your grief - something that made your breath catch, and not in a way you were prepared for. You shook your head, trying to dismiss it, to focus on the memories, on the reality that becoming an idol was what drove him to his demise. How could you even think -no, it was irrational, absurd even.
Yet the thought was persistent, sneaking into the corners of your mind when you least expected it. What if youâŠwhat if you became the voice that could bring his words to life? What if you took the path he couldnât complete, not to replace him but toâŠhonor him? Was that it? Or was it something more?
You remembered Chrisâs words from before, the casual mention of visas and logistics if you ever moved to Korea. It was a passing comment, a practical consideration that seemed so far-fetched- and now...now it was like a splinter under your skin.
The idea lingered, manic and wild. It felt almost like a betrayal to consider it, as if you were trying to follow in the footsteps that had led him to the edge of a cliff. But at the same time, there was a strange, allure to the consideration; one that made you wonder if you could find him again, not in the grave where he rested, but in the songs that never got to be sung.
The conflict in your mind was almost unbearable, a cacophony of fear, grief, and a desperate yearning for something you couldnât quite define.
Was it closure? Was it madness? Or was it simply a need to feel closer to him, to understand why the path he chose became too much to bear?
You wanted to dismiss it as a fleeting thought, a product of your grief-stricken mind, but the more you tried to push it away, the more it burrowed itself into your consciousness. Becoming an idol -how crazy was that? It was the very thing that had taken him from you. And yet, the more you thought about it, the more it made a twisted kind of sense.
You werenât like him, and maybe thatâs why you could do it. Maybe, where he fell, you could stand. Maybe you could be strong enough to carry his dreams forward, to finish the songs he started. Or maybe it was just the grief talking, leading you down a path that made no sense, but felt like the only way to hold onto him, to not let him disappear completely.
The snap, when it came, was not sudden but gradual, like a rope fraying one fiber at a time until it finally broke. It wasnât rational, it wasnât even something you could explain, but the thought was there now, alive and insistent. You couldnât tell if it was the worst idea youâd ever had or the only one that made sense in the wake of his absence.
The idea of giving life to Hajunâs lyrics -of turning his words into a melody that could fill the silence he left behind- was the only thing that seemed to soothe the ache in your heart. Even just imagining his songs being sung was like a balm, easing the pain with every note that played in your mind.
Becoming an idolâŠThe very notion was wild, crazy, even, but in the midst of your grief, it felt like the only way to hear his voice again. To be with him. To find a way back to him, to find a way forward that wasnât just drowning in the hundred of emotions he left behind.
You could feel it building, an irrational yet unstoppable force, a need that defied logic. It wasnât about fame, or fortune, or even following in his footsteps. It was about something deeper, something primal. It was about reclaiming a part of him, of yourself, that felt lost in the shadows of his death.
The idea grew roots, tangled and dark, winding through your thoughts until it was impossible to separate it from your grief. You imagined yourself on stage, under the harsh lights, the crowdâs roar in your ears- was it your voice they wanted to hear, or his? The lines blurred, your identity slipping between the cracks as the thought took hold.
You had the voice. You had the potential to learn to dance. Your image would almost be a given - the amount of attention a company would get for signing on the younger sister of an incredibly loved and deceased idol would have media swarming and an immense amount of free promotion. It would be a conglomerates dream. But could you do it?
Could you really step into that world, knowing what it did to him?
The grief whispered that maybe you had no choice. Maybe this was your path now, carved out by the loss that had ripped your life apart. Maybe by becoming an idol, you could bring him back in some way, keep his memory alive.
It was reckless, it was irrational, it was everything you had never been. And yetâŠit was the only thing that made sense.
You could almost hear him scoffing at you from above, calling you out for your foolishness, and that made you smile- just a little. If he were here, heâd tell you how ridiculous you were being, probably flick your forehead scolding you about how this was the last thing you should do. But he wasnât here. And that was the point, wasnât it? To be where he couldnât be, to say what he couldnât say, to live the life he never got to finish.
The snap was complete now, your mind fracturing into a thousand pieces, each one demanding something different. Rationality warred with logic with desperation, but in the end, only one voice remained. The one that told you to go, to become, to do the very thing that had destroyed him.
Because maybe, just maybe, in that destruction, you could find the pieces of him that were still left. Maybe those pieces could fill what he had carved out from you.
And maybe - just maybe - in the echoes of your own voice, you could finally find peace.

So I alluded to this in tags but did not want to put this on someone else's post and so: I have been catching heat for calling various members of Bells Hells selfish since the start, and to be clear, I will keep doing this, because I have precisely no respect for the intellect of anyone doing this, but I want to underscore that it's not just that I find many of the party's actions profoundly selfish/self-absorbed; it's been a growing pattern in the people who defend them.
It is selfish to fail to take into consideration the perspectives of others and to act out of your own pain in a way that hurts other people. I categorically reject the idea that being traumatized, abused, or experiencing negative things in any way excuses you from having to consider how your actions can harm others. In fact, failing to do this makes you a worse person; to say "the world hurt me and I'll visit this pain on other innocents" is ultimately, an indefensible position on moral grounds. That doesn't, to be clear, mean I dislike it in stories, which should have conflict and moral grayness. But I do not find these characters to be people I consider to be good, if this is with any consistency the frame of reference from which they act.
To say "the gods did not give me things and therefore they deserve killing" is profoundly selfish and vindictive. Having no love for them is one thing; actively wishing harm on them is, in fact, self-centered in the extreme. But that's actually not what I'm here to talk about in regards to Bells Hells' selfishness, both because I've found trying to explain that the gods are living beings and murdering all of them is, you know, bad, to some of the fandom has failed for the reasons I'll discuss later in this post. And, granted, this is a hypothetical, and we may look back in a month or so when the dust clears at a party that defeated Predathos and say "ha, good job guys," but should Bells Hells release Predathos deliberately? That is a betrayal of the Exandrian Accord. If you want to side with the man who destroyed Molaesmyr (and make no mistake, there is no way to do what he was going to do without siding with him; intent only matters if Predathos escapes despite Bells Hells giving it their all, not if they have slightly different motivations for fucking over their allies), that's a valid story, but to take the job and choose to fail to deliver? That is selfish. Someone else could have taken the job. The Doylist excuse that these are the characters the cast happened to be playing at the time does not, in fact, hold water; they could in fact have rejected the Moon Plot, or chosen to become the villains of this story. I would have, in fact, enjoyed that as a story! But this idea that they're not just assholes who think more about themselves and the shitty things various people mostly unaffiliated with the gods did to them during their childhoods than the vast destruction wrought by Ludinus across all of Exandria, is not one the narrative has ever supported.
What's really struck me, though, is a theme of selfish defenses in the fandom. I think bringing up personal anecdotes can be incredibly helpful! I found that some of the people who spoke about their experiences with PTSD in reference to Caleb, for example, provided incredible insight. Notably, the people I'm thinking about were not the ones whose conclusions were "so he's in the moral right to do anything to anyone ever because of PTSD" (and indeed they were usually people who celebrated Caleb as kind of an asshole). But those anecdotes do not override the experiences of other fans. Or, to dredge up some tiresome arguments, Beau is allowed to get pissed off at Caleb's behavior, even if his actions come from a place of trauma.
The two things that really stand out to me (outside of the bizarre ambient noise of white southern ex-Evangelicals acting like they're an oppressed class on that basis that has clung to the discourse like the slime it is) are the recent defense of Ashton on the basis of "punks/leftists are allowed to do this and I identify with Ashton so how could you be so mean to me, a leftist punk and therefore a good person and therefore I can do whatever and you have to like me," and the defense of the various Vanguard members (sans Ludinus) as being victims of a cult and therefore the trail of bodies they leave is fine because various fans have talked about having family in cults whom they forgave. I will speak bluntly here. I'm Jewish, and your argument of "you should be nicer to cult members because a lot of white southern people fall into cults, like one of my parents" is, to me, a combination of insulting, horrifying, and makes me hope your cultist parent gets hit by a car before they hurt more people. Should you wish to forgive your family? Fine, it's your business. To act as though it is a failure of strangers that they are not more generous towards a fictional character because you are sucking your own dick about how good you are at forgiveness? That is a level of entitlement that goes so far beyond the pale I struggle to imagine how you function in society.
I don't think Bells Hells are doomed to this epithet - they have a chance to do the the right thing - and I believe that those entitled fans can change. But yeah man, they - and you - have been really fucking selfish, and the digging in of your heels is doing nothing to convince me you're capable of even hearing the perspectives of others, let alone considering them.

Crazier âą Pt. 3
pairing: mcu!peter parker x reader
a/n: ITS FINALLY HERE omg I loved writing this series so much i had a blast. thank you for everyone who was asking me about part 3 because it felt amazing knowing you enjoyed it as much as međđđ i hope you enjoy !! (beware, she is long)
warnings: some angst thrown in here and there, fluff (later), mentions of breakups, mentions of cheating, very very brief mention of suicide ( someone mentions and old author who offed themselves), me not knowing anything about theater (I apologize in advance), glitter
read part 1 here & part 2 , masterlist
"And when we got the chair, Brad made me sit in it and he pushed me around the whole school!" You were telling Spider-Man about your day, and as always, he listened politely, only chiming every now and then.Â
"Wow, you and this Brad guy sure did a lot together today, huh?" He said, and even with the voice changer, you could tell he sounded a bit off. "I mean yeah! He's a great guy, way cooler than I originally thought.â You told him, making him grind his teeth hard, not that you saw that.Â
"Actually I'm a little upset that the play is about to come to an end." Your voice gets a little softer as you confess what's been on your mind today. "The rehearsals have been a blast, and the people are amazing and it's been such a good distraction from everything. I'm really sad to see it go," you looked down at your hands.Â
Peter took one look at your expression and knew there was something else you weren't telling him. "Well what kinds of things do you need a distraction from?" he asked carefully.
"Um," you looked anywhere but at him, "well, my parents have been fighting a lot lately and it's just been really hard to be around the house, everything's so tense."
His lips parted but nothing came out. He knew about your parents, of course, whenever things got bad you'd always run over to his place to hang out. But now you couldn't do that anymore, so you were just looking for any way to avoid coming home for as long as you could.Â
"And of course, there's that whole breakup." you continued. "But I've been pretty good at ignoring that so far, and I think that's just the way I'll keep going." You drummed your fingers on your thigh as you stared into nothing.
"Do you really think that's the best way to go about it?" He asked hesitantly. "Maybe you shouldn't just completely ignore something like that."
You gave him a questioning look, "And why wouldn't I want to forget about it? Isn't that what you're supposed to do eventually after a breakup?"
"Yeah, eventually," he repeated, "but wasn't that relationship a big part of you? Ignoring everything isn't gonna make all your feelings go away. You have to face your emotions, embrace them, and go through the motions before moving on."
He hated that you seemed to be fine all of a sudden. That you were getting so close with this Brad guy all of a sudden. It might've been selfish, but Peter didn't wanna see you moving on just yet, he still had a tiny hope in the back of his brain that you might take him back if he waited till just the right time. But the more you kept talking, the more that tiny hope diminished.Â
You snorted, "Ok Dr. Spider-Man, I'm not sure a guy running around New York in a bright onesie is qualified to give out relationship advice, but you do you.â
He couldn't help but let out a laugh. "I'll let you know I give out great relationship advice and I'm not wearing a onesie," he huffed. "It's a super suit."
That just made you laugh harder, "Yeah, sure, whatever dude."
"So you and your team won?" he asked. He wasn't about to waste the only time in the day when he got to speak with you being jealous. He was gonna keep this conversation going. Try his best to give you what he never could as Peter.Â
"Yes!" you beamed. "Oh and look," you scrambled around looking for the crown you had received after you won. You had brought it up with you just so you could show him.Â
You put it on and straightened your posture, "We were rewarded with these fabulous crowns.â
Spider-Man let out a loud laugh. "Wow, you look like true royalty."
"Don't I?" you grinned. "I always wanted to be a princess when I grew up, so this is very fitting for me." You tapped the crown lightly and grinned at him.
Peter was sure he was grinning like a lovesick idiot. He remembered you telling him this, your crazy childhood dream during one of your late-night talks. He truly believed that if anyone in this whole world were some kind of royalty, it would be you.
âJust like Rapunzel.â He murmured. Your head perked up at that. âOh my god,â you rush, âYES! Holy shit! She was my absolute favorite as a kid, how'd you know that?â
He fumbles a little but quickly finds himself. âYou were humming âI See The Lightâ a couple days ago. It was an educated guess.â You can hear the grin in his voice. âGlad to know I got it right though.â
You laughed a little and settled back down. âDude, I'm not kidding. I used to eat yellow flowers as a kid 'cause I thought theyâd give me magic hair.â
At that, Peter loses his mind. Heâs cracking up and you're joining in beside him. This, he thinks to himself. This is what heâs been missing. This is how things should be. He can't help himself, the words are leaving his mouth before he can even gather his thoughts.
âSo what about your ex? Howâve things been going with him?â Nice going dumbass. She's never gonna wanna talk with you again if you keep mentioning her ex-boyfriend.
You looked at him weirdly and started twisting the ring on your finger. âWhy do you wanna know?â
âI-just IâŠâ he scratched the back of his neck, âWell actually, I'm going through a breakup too, right now, and I guessâŠI don't know, hearing you talk about it, about him, makes me feel less alone.â
Peter Parker feels like shit. He feels like a total asshole. And yet, he doesn't feel bad enough to stop, to come clean. Not yet at least. He tried making himself feel better by thinking, âWell it's not a lie. I am going through a breakup. She just doesn't know with who.â
You stared up at him, shocked. He never shared anything about himself. Not a thing. You two joked back and forth but you were usually the one sharing personal issues (or triumphs, like today). You start to wonder what his personal life looks like. He can't be that much older than you from what you can tell by his sense of humor and some of his references. This man, no, boy, who spends practically all his time running around one of the most popular cities in the world, saving lives and changing them, is going through a breakup. And heâs currently sitting on a rooftop with you and talking about it.
You blew out a long breath. âIf Spider-Man canât find love, none of us stand a chance.â
He let out a soft laugh at that. âAh, I wouldn't say that. I definitely have my fair share of flaws. And then some.â
You shake your head, âI'm sure the good outweighs the bad. I mean, come on,â you gestured towards him.
He laughed again. âSo tell me, you still see him every day, right?
You nodded, deciding that if this made him feel less alone, you could do this.Â
âIs it hard?â
You shrugged, âHonestly, I have no idea. Iâve been avoiding him like the plague. Iâve only run into him once and it was when me and another friend went to grab ice cream at our old hangout spot. I couldnât look at him. I havenât spoken to him since everything and I donât really want to. Not anytime soon.â
He sighed. Of course, you didnât wanna speak to him as Peter. Heâd totally fucked you over, heâs lucky he found any kind of loophole at all because he really doesnât think he can handle not speaking completely.Â
âHow do you think he feels?â He has no clue where the question came from but now that heâs asked, he canât help the curiosity bubbling in him.
You run a hand through your hair and sigh, âI have no idea. One second heâs avoiding eye contact in the school hallway and the next, heâs staring daggers at me in an ice cream shop. Heâs weird.â
Spider-Man chuckled lightly, âYeah, he sounds like he is.â
âDo you see your ex a lot?â You hope he doesnât see it as prying, you just want to see how similar your situations are.Â
âYeah, actually, I do.â He nods but says nothing else.Â
âIs it hard?â You ask softly.Â
He nods again, keeping his eyes low. âCrazy hard. Especially when I know everything is my fault.â
âDo you think sheâd ever forgive you?â He only shrugged. âDo you want her to forgive you?â
He looks up at you, âWould you ever forgive your ex? After whatever it is that he did, I mean.â
You took a moment to think. âI donât know. I think itâs different. I mean, I donât know what happened between you guys, but I think with Peter and I, I think he was starting to lose interest.â
He can feel his heart drop. âWhat? Why would you say that?â
âYeah,â you continued, not taking notice of the spider slightly freaking out beside you, âhe just stopped caring. Stopped showing up, and stopped listening. If I didnât know any better Iâd actually think heâd cheated on me.â
âNo way! I mean-,â he cleared his throat a little, trying not to sound as anxious as he felt, âDo you⊠do you actually that he did? Cheated, I mean. Do you seriously think he cheated on you?â
Please say no, please say no, please say-
âNo, of course not,â you told him honestly. âPeterâs a lot of things, but heâs not a cheater. Iâd accuse him of that.â You paused for a moment. âBut there was somethingâŠI donât know what. There was something he wasnât telling me.â
He let out a breath of relief. Thank god, he doesnât think he couldâve handled knowing you thought of him that way. And itâs true, he wouldâve never stooped so low. As for the âsomethingââŠ
âSay he were to show up, right now, knocking on your door. Begging to have you back and swearing that heâs changed. Would it work?â He asked half serious and half joking.
You laughed a little, âNo, but itâd probably piss off my parents.â
He grinned beside you, his mask shifting slightly at the movement. âAw come on. Not one for big romantic gestures?â He nudged your shoulder a little.
You smiled but your expression fell as you thought about his words some more. âNo, Iâm just not one for empty promises. Which is all he had to give me after a while. He used to be amazing, he used to be the perfect boyfriend. The Peter I knew disappeared and I wasnât a fan of the one who replaced him.â
You look up at him and grin. âIf thereâs any chance of anything being repaired between us. Even a friendship. Heâs gonna need to get his shit together.â
âSo he cheated on her, which fueled her depression, and ultimately led to her suicide. And that wasnât enough so he burned her most of her work, and profited off of the rest of it after she died!â
This is what your mornings looked like lately. Hanging out with MJ so much had beenâŠinteresting to say the least. There was always something you could learn from her. Currently, she was telling you all about some ancient female authorâs shitty husband as you waited beside her locker while she grabbed everything sheâd need for her next class.Â
âEvery article online about it says âallegedlyâ but fuck that. Itâs totally the truth,â She finished.Â
âGod. That sounds awful,â you grimaced. âWhatever happened to him? Didnât they have kids?â
âOh, he married someone, won a ton of awards everyone loved him. And yes, a son, who also dies by suicide, and a daughter. I'm pretty sure she writes kids' books now.â
You sucked in a breath. âHoly shit. And where did you learn all this?â
She shrugged. âI read a lot.â
âRight,â you nod, unable to completely shake off the grossness that story left you feeling. âSo,â you started, hoping to change the subject. âWhat do you have next again?â
âBiology. But I think we have a sub today, so thatâll be fun.â She slammed her locker shut, leaned on it slightly, and turned toward you. âWhat about you?â
You shook your head at her, âFree period. I was gonna catch up on my reading for AP Lit. Hey,â you wondered aloud, âis it that sub that marks people tardy even if theyâre a second late? I canât stand him.â
She sprung up. âShit. Shit. Fuck,â she rushed out. âIt is. And I canât get another tardy otherwise I get detention. Again. And my parents would kill me.â
You nodded, completely understanding. âOkay. Well, Iâm just gonna go grab my stuff and head to the library. See you later!â
âBye Y/N/N!â She yelled over her shoulder, already halfway down the hall.Â
You laughed lightly before heading to your own locker. You opened it and grabbed your bag when you felt a tap on your shoulder.Â
You slam your locker shut and turn around, only to come face to face with Brad. âHey, Brad!â You grinned.Â
Youâd never really noticed Brad before. You never had anything against him, you both just ran in different crowds. Even after you both started working on the play, you were friendly with each other but it never went past a simple smile, wave, or quick âhelloâ. But in light of recent events, you were really starting to think of him as a friend.
âHey.â He smiled right back. âSaw you here and thought Iâd just stop by and ask how youâve been.â
You gave him a closed-lip smile as you leaned back against the lockers. âThatâs sweet. Iâve been okay, long morning though. What about you?â
He nodded. âSame. Stayed up pretty late last night going over my lines.â
âReally? Donât really think you need that. Iâve seen you at rehearsals, youâre a natural Brad.â
âYeah? You think?â He grinned wide at your compliment and ran a hand over his hair. âIâve got âem memorized and all, but I just wanna make sure I know them, yâknow?â
You nodded. He wants to make sure his delivery is as good as his memory. Thatâs another thing you didnât expect from Brad Davis. His passion for theater.Â
âWell like I said, Iâve seen you at rehearsals and I mean it when I say I think youâre fine. More than fine actually. So donât stress yourself out Davis, youâre gonna be amazing.â
He beamed at you like a child. âThank you Y/N, seriously. You donât know how much that means.â
You smiled right back at him. âAnytime.â
It was quiet between you two for a bit, and you didnât really know what to say. You were about to ask if he had a class he needed to get to when, suddenly, he took a few steps closer to you.Â
That automatically took any words that mightâve been on your tongue and threw them in the dumpster behind the school.Â
âThereâs um, thereâs something Iâve been meaning to ask you, actually.â His voice is softer but, you hear every word and you can almost feel his breath on your face.Â
âOh?â Your voice matches his volume. This can't be happening. He knows you just broke up with Peter. Heâs gotta be kidding. Or maybe, heâs about to ask something about the play. Yes, you think, heâs got a question about the play and heâs come to ask me, obviously, because Iâm the director.Â
The halls are quiet now, everyone else is in class, at the library, or something. It's just you and Brad, standing so close you could count his lashes.Â
Just you and Brad. Brad, who wonât stop staring into your eyes for some reason, so youâre just left standing thereâŠ.you and Brad.
And Peter.Â
The sound of squeaky sneakers running down the hall seems to break him out of whatever trance he was held in and he steps back a bit, almost causing you to let out an audible sigh of relief. God, you could just kiss the person who decided to unintentionally interrupt whatever moment was just happening between you two.Â
Or not.Â
Because when you both turned to see who it was, your heart fell. Peter Parker is standing there, backpack hanging off his elbow, binder bursting with loose papers in hand, and staring at you like a deer caught in headlights.Â
For a second, none of you say anything. Bradâs looking confused, staring at Peter. Peter is looking at you, then at Brad, then at you again. And you, well, youâre just wishing the school hallway would split in half and swallow you whole. Youâve run through a few different scenarios in your head, and falling into the earthâs core sounds the most appealing.Â
Then Peter moves closer, clearing his throat as he approaches the both of you. âHey guys, howâve you been?â He asked.Â
Neither you nor Brad replied.Â
âRight. Hey man,â he turned to face Brad, his face suddenly serious, âdonât you drive a black BMW? Red rims, red interior?â
âUm, yeah, I do,â Brad answered skeptically.Â
Peter blew out a long breath. âThink you might be in trouble dude. I just heard the principal saying he was gonna get it towed, something about you parking wrong.â
âWhat?!â Bradâs whole demeanor changed on a dime and you almost felt sorry for him.Â
Peter held up both his hands. âIâm serious man, thatâs what I heard. But donât ask me,â he pointed to the hall behind him, âgo ask Mr. Morita.âÂ
Brad stared at you for a moment before walking off, mumbling something about âanother fucking ticketâ as you watched him leave. You almost grabbed his arm like a child, almost asked him to stay, just so you wouldnât be alone with Peter.Â
You swallowed. Brad had finally turned the corner, leaving him officially out of your eyesight and leaving you standing alone with your ex. Itâs funny really, how you went from talking about suicidal classic authors with your friend a few minutes ago, to this.Â
Yup, the Earthâs core sounds amazing right now.
For all the words he had to say when Brad was here, Peter was awfully silent now, doing that weird stare thing he did in the ice cream shop the other day. But there was no Ned to play polite this time, and no MJ to hold on a leash so she doesnât bite. It was just you and him.Â
And you had no problem running.Â
You turned so quick, it took him a second to register the movement, and by the time he did, you were halfway down the hall. He ran after you.Â
âY/N, wait. Please.â He reached out a hand to place on your shoulder. You jerked away, his hand barely brushing your cardigan.Â
Youâre both standing in the hallway, and youâre still avoiding his eyes when you say, âWeâre not doing this.â You shook your head and ran off, leaving a somber-eyed Peter in your wake.
There was no parking violation. Peter lied. But he had to.Â
Heâd gotten caught up doing some last-minute homework in the library. Spider-Man duties were keeping him busy lately because when he wasnât fighting crime on the streets of Queens, he was spending time with you.Â
He knows it isnât right, he knows it isnât fair, but god if it doesnât feel good. He loves spending time with you and he hates that he canât do it more often, hates even more that itâs his fault. And he damn sure wasnât going to cut your meetups short because he had a few math questions waiting to be answered.Â
So on his way back, the halls were empty when he suddenly heard a very familiar voice. You.Â
But you were with someone. Brad. The thought made him roll his eyes.Â
You were currently going off about how great Brad was doing so far in his role in the play you were managing. Stupid Brad, Peter was sure the only reason anything was going right in the planning of the show was because of you, you were the best person they couldâve picked for the job and all Brad had to do was say a few lines. You were the one who dealt with everything else. Brad shouldâve been praising you, not the other way around.
Heâd heard Bradâs response to your compliments and almost rolled his eyes again until he heard your response. Of course, you were being an absolute sweetheart. You probably had no clue what words like that meant coming for someone like you. You were probably oblivious to your effect on people, as you were probably oblivious to Bradâs true feelings about you.
You both went quiet for a moment, leaving Peter to wonder what happened when he heard Bradâs voice again.Â
âThereâs um, thereâs something Iâve been meaning to ask you, actually.â
No.Â
No, no, no, no. No.Â
If he were totally honest with himself, he knew it was coming. Especially after you told him about your little scavenger hunt around the school, and how well you got along with him, how kind he was being towards you. Brad didnât just randomly see you in the hall and decide to say âheyâ. He had class. Peter knew because he was supposed to be in that exact class right now.
He could handle another detention.Â
Before he even knew it, he was running down the halls. He had no idea what he was going to do, even less what he was going to say but none of that mattered at the moment. He just had to make sure this didnât go any further. There was no way he could stand by and listen to you agree to go out with some other guy.Â
And then he was standing there, youâd both seen him, and it was too late to turn back. He stared for a minute, noticing how close Brad was standing next to you. His gaze flickered between you and him and all he could think was how wrong it would be for you to end up with someone like Brad. Stupid, stupid Brad, who hung out with all the stupid jocks, and threw those stupid house parties all the time. Who only talked about his stupid car, and what model it was-
An Idea popped into his head.Â
He couldnât help it. Bro Peter stepped out and dealt with Brad, knowing the one thing that would completely get rid of him at the moment. He wasnât thinking about the consequences.Â
As heâd suspected Brad left with almost no hesitation, Peter almost doubling over with how quickly he fell for it.Â
And then, he was left with you, and every ounce of confidence, every word in his lifelong vocabulary, crumbled. It never ceased to amaze him how easily you could completely undo him. He was an avenger, for crying out loud, he had literally saved New York and, he didnât want to sound cocky but, the world. He had faced villains, of all sorts, so despicable, itâs a wonder heâs alive at all. But he did it.Â
But youâŠ. Heâs never felt like this before. So nervous, anxious, and scared to mess something up when all he wants is to fix it. In the superhero world, stunned silence isnât an option. One moment of hesitation and everything could go to shit. But now, heâs not sure what the best course of action is. Heâs not sure if speaking to you will make things worse, or better. If saying anything at all will give him more of a fighting chance. Was there even any chance of a fighting chance?
He didnât miss how you hadnât said a word and all he could think was âPlease talk! Say something! Give me a hint for what Iâm supposed to say!â
He was just stuck in place, staring directly at your face taking in your expression. You wouldnât meet his eyes and there was no stopping the pang of guilt in his gut. You looked skittish, and it shouldâve been no surprise to him when you turned to take off but it still took him a second to shake off that moment.Â
Just a second though, because soon he was running right after you. He wasnât going to let you off so easy this time.Â
Heâd called for you to stop, reaching his hand for your shoulder in hopes of getting you to listen. The way you jerk back as if his touch might burn you snaps something in him.Â
And there they are, your first words to him (Peter him) since the breakup:
âWeâre not doing this.â
And youâre already moving away again, already slipping away from him again while his hand hangs in the air. He almost touched you. Maybe it was better that he didnât because he thought he mightâve never let go.Â
Heâs not sure if you meant what you told him as Spider-Man. Maybe it was just another one of your jokes. But heâs not ready to give up hope yet. Heâll give you time if that's what you need, heâs just scared of who else might try to make their move during that time.Â
For now, heâs just gonna work on getting his shit together.Â
And that starts with going to class, and getting his work turned in.
Thereâs a buzz in the air when you enter the auditorium the next day, that can only be described as highly-caffeinated-extremely-enthusiastic-high-school-theater-kids. You were all feeling the anticipation of your work these past few weeks being shared with all your friends and family.Â
You were walking around checking up on the last-minute touchups. You walked up on stage and stopped in your tracks. âOh my god,â your hand flies up to your mouth, âyou guys! This is beautiful!â
The set group (Noah, Lacy, and Jack) all grinned up at you. They all had some form of paint on them. Lacy adorned a pair of overalls that consisted of black and navy blue splatters going up and down the front of her. Jackâs T-shirt looked as if it were being used as a rag for his hands, so there were so many colors intertwining with each other, that you couldnât pick out a single one. Noah was the messiest of the group, this specific set being mostly his responsibility. The knees of his jeans were stained black, but it didnât end there. He looked like a tornado of night, with all sorts of shades clinging to any visible part of him. Blues, blacks, indigos, you name it. And they were all gleaming with pride.Â
âHey Y/N,â Noah beamed at you. âWe just finished the last backdrop.â
Behind them all was the backdrop which would be used for the last scene of the play. Lexi and Brad (or Stephanie and Gabriel, per the script) would stand in front of it and finally declare their love for one another, commencing their forever after with a passionate kiss.Â
You knew it was supposed to be a night sky, but what you hadnât known was how well of a job they would do.Â
You let out a breathless laugh. âI can see that. It's stunning you guys, truly.â Although Midtown High was a school that specialized in the education of science and technology, the students here were extremely in touch with their creative sides as well. And that fact had never been more obvious to you than in that moment.Â
âThere's still one more finishing touch, and then itâll be perfect.â Lacy grinned at you before running backstage.Â
You were staring at where she'd just been, a furrow in your brows, when Jack nudged you lightly, âOh, this is what sheâs been waiting for since we started.â
Lacy came back, almost tripping over herself with how fast she was running. She held up a jar that sparkled in the auditorium lights as she moved it around, âGlitter!â
You grinned and clapped your hands together, âOh Iâm so happy I get to be here for this.â
Noah and Jack stood to the side while you and Lacy approached the large backdrop from the side. She made quick work of unscrewing the top and setting it beside her. She leaned over slightly and tilted the jar a tad before sprinkling it over the spacious work of art.Â
If sprinkling glitter were a profession, Lacy would be a pro.Â
You quickly figured out why she was so excited about this step, and it wasnât just the glitter. Adding the glitter gave the scene more life. It made it look as if it were real, and you were looking at a sky bursting with sparkling stars.
After getting the area in front of her, she turns to you, holding out the jar. âHere! Give it a go.â
You stared a her a bit before quickly shaking your head, âLace, I never thought someone could be good at sprinkling glitter, yet here I am. You were like a freaking fairy! Iâd totally ruin it, and I canât do that to you guys.â
You held your hands up and started backing away slowly. You could hear Jack and Noah laughing behind you.Â
Lacy just rolled her eyes with a smile stuck on her face. âNonsense, Y/N, youâre a pro at everything you do,â she lowered her voice a little, âlike that scavenger hunt?â
You gave her a look before turning around to make sure Mrs. Lightbody was nowhere around. âNone of that,â you hiss, âthat was a one-time thing! And it was a group effort!â
âOh come on,â Noah this time. âWe all know you had the hardest list of the bunch. Seriously Y/N, if Brad hadnât shown me the list, I never wouldâve believed that you did all that.â
Jack nodded. âHonestly, me and Lace wrote that as a little joke, like, âHey, what if we were really wild with this? What would we do?â And you came and proved us all wrong.â
Lacy hummed her agreement, âWhat they said, exactly. And this is just a bit of glitter. No big deal!â She grabbed your arm and pulled you towards her.Â
You laughed lightly, feeling yourself grow a little flustered under their praises. You grabbed the jar of glitter from Lacy and went to work, being extra careful so you donât ruin all their hard work.
âThis is good glitter,â you say softly, completely concentrated on the task at hand.Â
âOh my gosh! I know right!â Lacy practically squeals her response. You laughed but could hear Noah groaning behind you. You finish with the glitter, screwing it shut before turning back to face him.Â
âThereâs no such thing as âgood glitterâ,â He did air quotes on that last part, sounding extremely frustrated and something told you this wasnât the first time they had this conversation.
âYes, there is! She just said so!â Lacy was standing her ground. Suddenly, she turned towards you, âYâknow who can settle this? Lexi. Go find her Y/N, take the glitter, and ask her what she thinks. Sheâs gonna agree with me, I can already feel it.â
You held in a laugh. âSure thing Lace.â You turn to go find your other friend and as you're walking away you can still hear them arguing, Noah not convinced that glitter could be good or bad. Itâs just glitter.Â
You walked around the auditorium looking for Lexi and failing to find her. You started asking around, feeling sure that someone had to have seen her. You knew she was here, having seen her enter at the start of rehearsals. Walking around the front of the auditorium, peering down aisles, you were about to go check backstage when you heard a Brad Davis.
Now youâre not sure why, you didnât do anything wrong after all, but a panic settled in you. Next thing you knew, you jumped into one of the aisles and crouched down.Â
He was walking up the main row between the chairs, script in hand, talking to someone beside him who you couldnât see. They were moving closer to you. Shit.Â
In a rush, you start crawling, crawling, down to the opposite side of the aisle they were approaching. You were almost out, but you accidentally pulled down one of the chairs that are built to automatically flip up. Not a loud noise, but loud enough. You wince but donât stop until you're sitting against the side of the row of chairs, out of their sight.Â
You could hear the chatter stop and the footsteps slow. You sucked in your breath and folded in on yourself even more. You were already coming up with a cover for yourself.Â
âOh, hey Brad. Yeah, Iâm on the floor. Not avoiding you or anything, justâŠ.decided to see what the view of the stage would be like from here. Not good!â
It sucked and you really hoped you wouldnât have to use it.
It seemed as though your luck for the day hadnât expired because you heard them mumble amongst themselves and move on. After a few moments, You let out a sigh of relief and started crawling down towards the stage. You werenât risking getting seen just yet.
You were starting to like Brad, you really were! But after recent events you had started to think the interest heâd taken in you wasnât the same as the platonic one youâd taken in him. And you were bad at confrontation or being put on the spot. Obviously.
Plus you figured heâd want to talk about that weird moment with Peter in the hall the day before and youâd rather pretend that didnât happen at all. Even you didnât know what that was.Â
Moving slowly, you kept your head down, trying to reach the stage so you could just bolt behind the curtains. Suddenly, a pair of pointed-toe black flats came into your view. You paused and slowly looked up. In front of you stood Ms. Lightbody.Â
âHi.â You said meekly. She looked down at you with a furrow in her brows, âHello Miss Y/L/N. May I ask what youâre doing?â
You fumbled for a moment but finally found yourself. Clearing your throat, you stood up and dusted yourself off. âI dropped an earring.â
Way better than that other bullshit you were thinking of.Â
She stared at both your ears, which adorned a pair of earrings you never took off. âOh?â
âIâve already put it back in,â you explained to her lamely. She gazed somewhere behind you and you followed her stare. Brad and his friend were still walking up and down the main row, lost in some conversation. You gulped, if she had seen you earlier, it wouldâve been fairly obvious to her the real reason behind your little floor exploration. And that was just embarrassing.Â
She hummed in response, âI see.â Her voice carried some tone of understanding and you felt yourself run hot with embarrassment under her gaze.Â
âDid you need something, Miss?â You rushed out quickly, hoping to change the subject.Â
âYes,â she focused her gaze on you now, and if you didnât know any better, youâd say there was a sprinkle of amusement in her eyes.Â
Ms. Lightbody was a newer addition to Midtownâs staff. She came in to replace the schoolâs previous drama teacher, and she also subbed at times. Most of the student body disliked her, thinking her short-tempered and strict but you knew that was far from the truth. It seemed this play helped you better understand your peers and superiors alike. She was an amazing teacher and, contrary to popular belief, she wasnât an impatient maniac who didnât have the skill set to teach. She was always willing to help someone who didnât understand, but what she didnât tolerate was purposeful incompetence. Â
âLexi is in one of the rooms backstage, I need you to go find her and tell her thereâs one more scene we need to rehearse.â She paused and looked behind you again. âAnd I suggest you get to that soon because I think your friend, Mr. Davis, has spotted you.â
You blanched, unsure whether to dwell on the fact that she knew, or that Brad had spotted you. You turn slightly only to see Brad already looking towards you.Â
You quickly snapped your head towards the lady in front of you again. âOn it!â You told her, not waiting for a response before shooting up the stage and behind the curtain.Â
You couldâve sworn you heard her laugh.Â
You were backstage looking for Lexi. It wasnât like her to stay tucked away like this, since rehearsals had started she was always ready for anything, talking things over with the other cast members, ready for criticism but rarely needing it. There was probably no one on the cast who was as excited as her.Â
âLex, you here?â You whispered softly. Behind the stage was empty and dark. You walked around carefully, trying not to accidentally trip on anything of the string or left-out equipment. All of this was going to need to be changed before tomorrow evening.Â
Suddenly, so quiet you could barely hear it, was a shuffling noise. You looked around for some switch, finding it on the wall to your left. You switched it on and the action earned you a hiss from someone a little further in the room.Â
You turned quickly, finding Lexi sitting at one of the small makeup desks, hands coming up to cover her face as if she were some vampire.Â
That worried you.Â
You rushed to her, placing a soft hand on her shoulder. âLex,â your tone was quiet so as not to disturb her anymore. âWhatâs wrong? Are you sick?â
She looked up at you, hair disheveled, face a little pale, and eyes tired. âNo, no Iâm fine.â She shook her head but you werenât convinced.Â
You moved to sit at the desk next to her. âOkay,â you said softly, âthen why are you sitting back here?â
She sighed a little. âIâve just had a small headache since lunch. But Iâll be okay really.Â
Your frown only deepens. âDid you eat today? Drink water?â
She nodded then rubbed her temples a little, shutting her eyes as she did so. âItâs probably my fault, I didnât sleep well last night and Iâm just tired.â
Her eyes snapped open and she looked more alert now. She clasped her hands together and smiled at you. âSo wake me up Y/N/N. Tell me something interesting.â
Skeptically, you eyed her up and down. âAre you sure that's all? Should I take you to see the nurse?â
She shook her head again, her hair flying around her face as she did so. âNo. Iâm actually feeling better already, talking to you. I think the smell of Noahâs Axe Body Spray was just really setting everything off.â She gestured her hands around herself.Â
You laughed, glad to see her acting like herself again. âBut seriously,â she said, putting a hand on your knee. âTalk to me, itâs waking me up. How was your day?â
You let out a breath and leaned back in the chair, looking up to the ceiling. âBrad asked me out.â
She gasped so loud, you started up in your seat. âShut up. Shut up!â
Smiling, you shook your head. âWell not yet. But I know itâs coming, you know what I mean? He keeps trying to get me alone, and he gets really close and starts staring into my eyes and everything. But he keeps getting interrupted.â
She gasped again, softer this time, and held her hand to her chest. âOh my god. Thatâs so cute! Are you gonna say yes?â
You stilled for a moment. Were you going to say yes? Youâd figured out what was most likely coming your way, but you hadnât really thought of how to handle it. You couldnât crawl across floors to avoid him forever. That would make graduation very awkward.Â
And at the same time, you didnât want to reject him. Brad was sweet, maybe not the type of person you usually went for, but he had his own things. Maybe you needed something new, something different.Â
But something in your gut was telling you maybe you shouldnât go out with someone who made you panic-crawl on the floor just to avoid having a conversation with them.Â
Not to mention, you just werenât interested in him like that. At all.
Lexi was going on about something or other, seemingly fine at the moment. âI totally knew he was into you. I mean, that whole picking you up in the library thing?â She shook her head. âNot just a platonic thing.â
You laughed loudly and stood up. You held out a hand for her to take. âCome on Lex, everyoneâs looking for their star.â
She took your hand and stood. âI bet they are, Iâll have to apologize for hogging you from them.â
You laughed again and started pushing her towards the front stage. âOh! I almost forgot to tell you! Weâre playing with glitter!â
The rest of the day went by smoothly. You, Lexi, and Lacy applied the finishing touches to the backdrop. As Lacy had guessed, Lexi agreed with her. Lacy went on about all the qualities the perfect glitter should consist of;Â âcatches the light, soft, and dustable.â
You were sure that last one wasnât even a word but Noah gave in eventually and let the girls have their win. But that wasnât enough for the three of you. Not wanting to put the glitter away just yet, you started sprinkling it on each other.Â
Word spread across the auditorium like wildfire, and soon, a line started forming on the stage to get glitter sprinkled on you, boys and girls alike. Ms. Lightbody shut that down quick.
You stuck to avoiding Brad for the rest of the day. It wasnât hard, you were both busy, him being one of the leads and you helping with a little bit of everything and making sure everyone stayed in order (with the exception of the glitter fiasco).Â
At the end, Ms. Lightbody had gathered you all around to talk about how tomorrow was going to go. She went over the basics, what time the show was going to start, and what time you all had to be there. It was things you all already knew but it was good to go over. In the end, you thought she looked a little sad, and apparently, you werenât the only one because someone else pointed it out. That made everyone jump and you all pulled her into a group hug. This little group had become like a crazy family and you were forever grateful you had a chance to be part of it.Â
You left quickly after that, wanting to get out before Brad offered to walk you home or something. You said bye to your friends, taking extra time with Lexi. She had been more reserved after you two talked, not as tired as youâd found her backstage, but still not quite herself. You told her to get lots of sleep tonight. She was needed tomorrow
Now, you were sitting on the rooftop ledge, kicking your feet as Spider-Man sat next to you.
âAre you excited?â He asked.Â
You nodded, smiling. âVery. Weâve all been working really hard for this. And you should see how great a job everyone has done. I canât wait to see it all put together finally.â
âIâm sure youâve done a great job,â he nods. âI really wish I could be there. Youâre gonna need to take some videos for me. Show me afterward.â
You grinned wide. âSeriously? Youâd wanna see?â
âHeck yea I wanna see,â he said, voice serious.
âOkay.â You nodded. âIâll take plenty of videos, donât worry.â
âThank you.â He said, raising a hand a ruffling your hair. You laughed and slapped his hand away. He stared at you a little before asking, âWhatâs in your hair?
You grinned wide. âGlitter.â
He shook his head, laughing. âI donât even wanna know.â You giggled beside him.Â
âAre your friends going to be there?â He asked.
âUm,â you say, still smiling. âYeah, I think so. They said they will, and I think itâll be fun.â MJ had told you she was definitely going to be there, she couldnât wait to make fun of the kids in the play, sheâd already bought her ticket. Ned said he wanted to see it as well, and PeterâŠwell, after recent events you couldnât think of any reason heâd be there. He probably wouldnât be able to find the time in his busy schedule, even if you two were still together. So it was better like this.Â
âWhat about your parents? Are they gonna try to make it?â
A beat passed before you replied. âNo,â you shook your head. âI donât think theyâre gonna be there.â
He was quiet for a moment, not sure what to say. He almost regretted asking.Â
âBut itâs okay,â you said, your voice so soft, it took everything in him not to reach over and pull you into his arms. âI wasnât expecting them to anyway. I have my friends, thatâs enough.â You cleared your throat and wrapped your arms around yourself.Â
He watched you for a bit and it hit him then, just how strong you were. How much you had on your plate at the moment. How little you let it show.Â
Your parents were basically roommates to you, you barely saw them, they were just there. The play you were managing? While everyone else had one job, one task they needed to focus on and get done, you were involved in everything. He remembered you mentioned to him a few weeks ago something about your phone blowing up since planning started. He never thought much of it then.Â
The more he thought about it, the more he realized you were always doing this. When it wasnât the play it was something with your family, or tutoring other kids at school. And on top of all of that, you were always available for your friends whenever they needed you, and your grades never slipped. Your essays and tests were used by your teachers as examples. He always knew, but not really. It was painfully obvious right now. And it was even more obvious to him that he never helped. He shouldâve helped make things easier for you, because he loves you, because he cares for you. But all he did was add to your plate. The thought made him feel sick.Â
âIâm so sorry,â Even through his voice-changer you could hear the sincerity, the despair in his voice. Your brows furrowed.Â
âYou donât need to apologize, itâs not that big of a deal. I swear,â you told him sincerely.Â
He nodded but the movement almost looked forced. âHow have you been?â
You paused. âGood,â you nodded, as if confirming your own statement. âBusy, but good.â
âHave you taken a moment to breathe recently? Just relax yourself for a few seconds?â
You were taken aback by his question. No one had ever asked you that. âI- I donât think so,â you replied quietly.Â
âAlright, thatâs okay, we can do that together. Here,â he held out both his hands, palms up. âput your hands in mine.â
You followed his lead and placed your hands in his. The material of his suit felt smooth, but thicker than it looked, and you were surprised to see how well your hands fit together.Â
âClose your eyes.â He said, and you saw the whites of his mask flicker shut. You followed his lead.Â
âGreat. Now big breath, through your mouth.â You sucked in a handful of air, the sound ringing out like a quick gasp.Â
His hands gave yours a gentle squeeze. âNo,â he said, voice soft. You felt your face heat up and you tried again, this time slowly letting the air enter and fill your lungs.
âNow out through the nose.â
You let the air leave you, not even realizing how tense you were until you felt yourself relax. Your eyes fluttered open and you found him already staring at you. His thumbs had started gently caressing your hands and you found you didnât mind at all.
âA few more times.â He told you, and you nodded at him. You closed your eyes again and repeated your actions from before, more sure of yourself this time.
When you had finished, you opened your eyes again. His eyes were still open and you thought his mask shifted into something like a grin.
âBetter?â He asked you, and you smiled, nodding your head. It was crazy to you to think about how over these past few days, that very mask had turned into a comforting sight for you. You really thought of New Yorkâs Spider-Man as a friend. And you hoped he felt the same.
You nodded again, unable to take your eyes off of him. You werenât even aware you were still holding hands until he removed his from yours. You almost protested, your hands suddenly feeling colder than they ever have.Â
But then he brought his hands up to cup each side of your face.Â
Oh.Â
You were sure you were melting. You couldnât remember the last time you felt like this, and you couldnât even see his face! You wished heâd just rip it off, you wouldnât care who was underneath.Â
He brought his face closer and leaned his forehead against yours. Your eyes fluttered shut. You stayed that way for a minute, both of you just enjoying the moment before you decided to speak.Â
âTake it off.â You whispered.Â
âWhat?â He asked, his voice matching your volume. You had opened your eyes and you were looking at him now. You could clearly see the eyes of his mask were still closed and you fought off a smile.Â
You brought up your hand to his face and traced his jawline. You could feel his jaw flex underneath your fingers and you couldâve sworn you heard him gulp.Â
âTake it off.â You repeated, your thumbs now caressing his cheekbones.Â
His eyes flew open and he leaned back. âNo,â he shook his head, moving even further from where you two were seated next to each other.Â
Your brows shot up at his sudden change of demeanor. You wished you hadnât said anything. âOk,â you said, voice quiet. âYou donât have to. Iâm sorry, I didnât know. I was just- ugh Iâm so sorry.â
âNo!â He repeated. âDonât apologize I- you did nothing wrong.â
But the way he was acting was making you feel otherwise.
âI have to go. Good luck tomorrow.â He said, stood up, flung out his wrist, and started swinging through the buildings faster than you could blink.Â
Fuck.Â
You were a wreck.Â
Everyone was running all over the place, orders being shouted across the entire backstage. Some people seemed to have invited their friends to hang out backstage (which was not allowed). Every corner was packed. And you were in the middle of it all.Â
âY/N!â Ms. Lightbody called for you from across the swarm of bodies. You made your way through everyone, not stopping until you were standing in from of her. She placed a hand on your shoulder and steered you until you were both standing in a corner, as far away from the others as you could get.Â
âMiss Walker isnât here, and itâs starting to become a problem.â She told you, voice serious.
You blanched. âLexi isnât here yet?!â
She shushed you. âI donât want to start a commotion. Things are barely going smoothly as is, and this will not make it better. Everyone will start worrying if they find out their lead hasnât arrived, and we cannot have that.â
You nodded at her, mind racing. âWhat do we do?â
She sighed, âFor now? Wait and hope for the best, thereâs still a bit more time.â
You nodded again and she took a second to look around the room. âWhat is all this? Half these kids have no business here!â She turned towards you again. âI'm going to try to reach Miss Walkerâs mother, deal with all these children Y/N, please. I want them gone by the time I get back.â
She turned to leave before she remembered something that had her turning right back, âYou have Miss Walkerâs contact information, correct?â You nodded at her again. âGreat. Try to get ahold of her, will you? The sooner we figure this out the better.â
âSure thing Ms. Lightbody.â You told her, waving her off, your voice sounding a hundred times more confident than you felt.Â
You watched her walk out the back door to make her phone call, and you paused for a moment, unsure what to do first. You turned and pulled out your phone. Heading for the door Ms. Lightbody just walked out of, you pulled up your message thread with Lexi.
girl WRU !!!
you were needed like 30 mins ago !!!!Â
get here-
You bumped into someone, your phone flying out of your hand before you could send that last one. You wouldâve been sent flying backward if the person hadnât gripped your waist tight to keep you steady.
âWoah, careful.â
Youâd know that voice anywhere. Peter.Â
âParker,â you said, backing away quickly. âWhat are you doing here?â And you donât mean for it to come out as harsh as it did butâŠthereâs just a lot on your plate right now.Â
And it seems he can tell. He bent over to grab your phone, placing it back in your hands. âThe lady at the office saw me walking by and asked me to drop these off.â He waved a big bag you hadnât noticed in his other hand.Â
You reached for it, saying, âOh my god, perfect.â At the same time, he asked, âAre you okay?â
You completely ignored him, taking the bag from his hands. Turning around, you caught Jack walking by at just the right moment. âJack! Here,â you called him over, âThose supplies you guys were asking for.â
âSweet, thanks Y/N/N!â He said, leaning in to give you a quick hug. You smile but then quickly shove him away, âThank J, but you really need to go finish. Like, right now.â
He straightened his posture and saluted you. âMaâam yes maâam!â He said, then he turned to Peter, who had been watching the whole exchange, âSup Parker.â He sent a little head nod towards him, as he started walking away.Â
Peter returned it, brows slightly furrowed as he looked between the two of you, âHey man.âÂ
You started walking around, trying to count up how many people there were who werenât a part of the cast or crew.Â
One, two, three-
You felt a hand placed on your shoulder and you turned quickly, only to see Peter still hasnât left.Â
You looked at him in disbelief. The nerve of this guy. Thereâs no way he seriously thinks youâre going to talk about the two of you right now, is there?
âHow are you?â He asks again and youâve never found someone dumber than you did right now.Â
âHello?! Things arenât going too hot in case you canât tell, and you arenât exactly helping right now!â
He nodded, âOkay. What can I do to help?â
You scoffed. âI donât know, leave. Itâs so crowded in here and I have to get all these extra people out. Shit,â you smacked your forehead. âI forgot I have to find Lexi. Fuck! And I have to-.â
âY/N!â Someone shouted your name for the umpteenth time that night. You turned and met Vanessa, one of the people in charge of makeup.Â
âWeâre out of setting powder.â
âWhat?!â
She winces. âIÂ know, Iâm so sorry. We thought we had enough but then some of the boys were playing and knocked over-,â
You waved her off, not wanting to hear the rest of it. âOkay, okay. Do none of the other girls have any extra? Is no one willing to lend you some?â
She shook her head. âNo! I already asked. I donât know what to do.â
âIâll get you some.â Peter stepped in. âJust send me a picture of what it looks like and Iâll be back in ten minutes tops.â
Vanessa gasped, âDude. Youâre a lifesaver. Y/N,â she met your eyes, âyour boyfriend is a lifesaver!â
âOh heâs not-,â you started, but she was already walking away. You turned towards Peter, the disbelief on your face getting stronger every time you looked at him today.Â
You started shaking your head, âWhat on earth are you doing Parker?â
âHelping you.â He said as if it were the easiest thing on earth. He wondered if you were making a conscious effort not to say his first name.Â
Your head wouldnât stop shaking left and right. âWhat? What do you- I donât-,â
He cut you off, âAnd Iâm gonna get rid of all the people who donât belong here too.â He looked around the room before looking down at you. âYou, justâŠtake care of yourself Y/N. Donât stress too much, itâll be fine.â
âAre you sure you even have the time?â
Shit.Â
His face fell and you immediately felt guilt seep into your bones.Â
âPeter Iâm so-,âÂ
He cut you off again, his voice quieter this time. âNo, that was..that was fair. But I mean it.â He raised his voice, sounding more sure now. âIâm going to help you out.â
He stepped away from you suddenly, leaving you standing with your mouth agape. He walked to the end of the room, stopping right before the door. âAlright, everyone! Listen up,â He clapped his hands together, his voice booming around the room. Everyone quieted down to hear him.
âUnless you had some part in putting all this together, Iâm going to need you to follow me out right now. Let everyone do their thing, we donât need to bother them any more than we already have.â
Everyone was still for a second.
âAnd,â he continued, âMs. Lightbody gave me permission to start handing out detentions.â
That got everyone moving. Your brows furrowed as a sea of students started moving through the room and out the door. Ms. Lightbody did no such thing.Â
Peter stood to the side, holding the door open. It had come down to the last few people and Peter held back a boy. âYou,â he told him, âIâm gonna need you to stay outside this door and make sure no one enters unless theyâre part of the cast or crew. We canât have that happening again.â
âOh shit. Like a bouncer?â The kid asked eagerly.
Peter stared for a bit before he nodded. âYeah man, exactly. And listen,â he pointed at you, âif youâre not sure, you ask her, alright?â
The boy turned towards you and you offered him a smile. âDamn! Sheâs smokinâ!â He exclaimed. If you werenât so busy, you mightâve blushed.
Peter narrowed his eyes, and it seemed like he was considering something before he quickly shook his head. He grabbed the boy by the shoulder and placed him on the outside of the door.Â
âVanessa!â He shouted. âSend me a picture of the powder, Iâm going right now.â
âAlready sent Pete, thanks!â She shouted back, giving him a thumbs up from where she was standing by the makeup chairs.Â
Pete? Why would she call him Pete? She doesnât know him like that. I used to call him Pete-
You stopped your train of thought. You could not afford to think like that right now.
âPerfect.â He said, he made to move away but his eyes met yours and he froze. âIâm gonnaâŠâ he trailed off, feet stuck to the ground as his thumb pointed to the door.Â
âOf course,â you nodded quickly. âAnd Peter,â you stop him before he turns to go, âthank you. So much.â You hoped your voice carried the sincerity you felt.
He smiled at you softly, âAnything for you Y/N/N.â
This time, you did blush. You turned away before he could see you and placed a palm on your forehead.Â
âWow,â a voice said from beside you. Brad. âDidnât know Parker had that in him.â
âYeah,â you whispered, âme either.â
âHey, whereâs Lexi?â Someone in the room asked. You felt your heart drop. Lexi. Youâd completely forgotten about her after that whole thing with Peter.Â
You had a show that needed to start in less than an hour and your star still hadnât shown up.Â
You pulled out your phone again, pulling up her contact. You were about to hit the âcallâ button but right then, Ms. Lightbody walked in.Â
She was holding her phone to her ear, and she was staring straight at you, her face full of dread.
âLexi canât make it. Sheâs got some type of flu, she canât get out of bed. I am on the phone with her mother right now.â
Your jaw dropped. Chatter broke out everywhere. The kids were panicking, wondering what to do now, now that the lead of the whole show wasnât going to be here.
Fuck. You shouldâve known, yesterday when you saw her. But you were stupid enough to believe it was just lack of sleep. You shouldâve figured it out faster so you couldâve planned something. Stupid, stupid, stupid-
âMiss Y/L/N.â You looked up when you heard your name. âSheâs asking to speak to you.â Ms. Lightbody holds her phone out for you to take.Â
Your eyes widen, âMe?â
She nodded, hand still outstretched toward you. You swallowed and walked your way toward her. You reached for the phone and held it to your ear. The chatter around the room stopped, everyone straining to hear what was going to happen next.
âHello?â
âIt wasnât the Axe Body Spray.â
You barked out a laugh at the unexpected joke. âLex! Be serious, what happened.â
âI got sick when I got home from rehearsal yesterday, Iâve been asleep since.â It was then that you heard how different her voice sounded. Nasally and broken, like sheâd swallowed a lawn mower.Â
âMy momâs only woken me up about twice to drink some medicine,â she continued, breaking into a fit of coughing at the end of her sentence. Yeah, maybe it was a good thing she didnât come.
âLex,â you repeated, sounding more desperate this time, âwhatâre we gonna do?â
âWait,â someone in the room with you starts, âwhat about her understudy?â
âThere is no understudy, dumbass!â Someone quipped right back.Â
âYou,â Lexi said.Â
âHuh?â You replied.Â
âYou, Y/N.â She repeated. âYou need to do it. You need to play Stephanie. No one else could do it. You know all the lines. You know the whole play.â
You paled. âBe so fucking for real with me right now Lexi Walker.â
âIÂ am.â She said seriously. Or, as seriously as she could sound when she had to cough after every other word she spoke.
People were leaning in now, trying to hear what was going on between the two of you. You ignored them, âLex, thereâs no way. You know I canât do that.â
âOh my god!â Someone shouted. Lacy. âY/N! Y/N can do it!â
You shook your head quickly. âNo! I canât!â You replied to her, the phone still pressed to your ear.
âYou have to, Y/N, please, for me. You know how much this means to me. Youâre the only person I trust,â Lexi begged
There are shouts from your cast-mates now, encouraging you to take the role when that was the last thing you wanted to do.
âLex, babe,â you tried to reason, âI didnât rehearse as much as you did! I donât know it like you.â
âNo,â she agreed, âyou know it better. All that time you spent, going over every detail of the set, the costumes, the script. It was for this. Now please, you know you can do it.â
You paused. You didnât want to, but it was really looking like you had no choice. You looked around at everyone in the room, they all worked so hard, hell, you worked so hard to make this happen. You werenât gonna let it all be for nothing.
You rubbed your temple with one hand, the other holding the phone up to your ear. âDo you guys really think I can do it?â You looked around at everyone, hoping theyâd answer honestly.
A chorus of agreement rang out from the group but Ms. Lightbody stepped in. âMiss Y/L/N,â she started, âI know none of this has been ideal. And I know weâre asking a lot. You didnât come in today expecting to step onto that stage, but right now, thatâs what we need. And I think we would all appreciate your help in these unexpected circumstances.â
You stared at her for a moment. You always wondered why she spoke so formally all the time, maybe one day youâll ask her.
âSure, Iâm down.â You shrugged and everyone started cheering.Â
âOh good,â Lexi sighed, âcause I need to go throw up right now, so bye. Tell everyone to take lots of photos and videos for me please!â
You winced. âWe will Lex, you just work on feeling better. Now go, I love you.â
âLove you too babe.â She replied before hanging up quickly.Â
âAlright,â Ms. Lightbody started pushing you to the makeup chairs. âHave a seat Y/N. Girls,â she turned toward the makeup crew. âGet started on her, afterward, take her to hair and then, get her into her costume.â
They all chorused an agreement and started fussing over you. You were one of the last people to get ready, everyone one else having already had their turn.Â
With so many people working on you, your makeup was done in no time. Soon, only Vanessa was left and she was powdering your face.
âPeter came back?â You asked her once you realized what she was holding in her hands.Â
She nodded. âYeah, a few minutes ago, but he didnât come in, left the stuff with the dude outside the door whoâs calling himself our âbouncerâ.â
You nodded, âOh okay.â
âYouâve got a great boyfriend Y/N, seriously. Not many guys I know would help out like that, no matterâŠâ
You zoned out while she was doing the finishing touches on your face. Not many guys you know either, Peter included. Or at least, the Peter youâd come to find yourself in a relationship with. The old Peter, however, wouldâve done anything for you, and you for him. You got a glimpse of him earlier tonight and you wondered what it was that triggered that.Â
The few moments of silence gave you time to go over everything that's been happening recently in your head. Youâve had a hectic past few weeks, but especially this last week. With the last few rehearsals, everything with Peter, everything with Spider-Man. OhâŠ
And then there was himâŠ
There was a moment yesterday. You tried to gaslight yourself into thinking you imagined it but you didnât. It was real. Until you ruined it.
Youâd gone to bed late last night, staying on the roof even after heâd left in case he decided to come back so you could apologize again. Youâd felt downright terrible all night. And this morning.Â
It was none of your business to ask him to take off his mask. Who the hell did you think you were? There mightâve been something before but there was no wayâŠnot after the way he reacted last night. Youâd pissed him off. And now youâd lost another friend.
âThere you go!â Vanessa said, pulling back from your face and grinning. She held up a mirror for you to take a look. âWhat do you think? I think it matches Stephanieâs description pretty well, no?â
You gasped, âOh my god Vanessa, this is exactly how I pictured her! When all this is over you have to teach me how to do my eyeliner like this.â
âDeal.â She grinned.
Suddenly, Ms. Lightbody walked by. âWho is that child standing outside the door?â She asked. Vanessa shot you a look and you subtly shook your head at her, and at anyone who turned towards you.Â
No one answered her. âHe asked me for my ID?!â You choked back a laugh. âHe doesnât even go here!â She continued. Everyone successfully avoided her, playing busy with whatever task they had in front of them. Vanessa kept brushing over your face with a clean brush while you both fought back smiles.
âY/N!â Ms. Lightbody called. You shot out of your chair and approached her. âYes maâam?â
âIs your makeup all done?â You nodded while she examined your face. âVery well, head over to hair, we need everyone ready soon! Curtain opens in 15!â
That last one was directed at everybody and you could feel the shift in the atmosphere. If everyone wasnât working before, they were now.Â
You headed over to hair and let one of the people there pin it up for you. After that, you were held into your costume, your friends pulling on layer after layer before finally, you were completely ready.Â
You looked in the mirror. âI look I came out a Jane Austen novel,â you murmured.Â
Lacy, who stood beside you, laughed. âAnd it suits you! You look beautiful Y/N, stunningly classic. Very vintage.â She nodded in approval.Â
You turned towards her and smiled, âThank you, Lace.â You sucked in a breath and ran your hand down the hem of your costume. âIâm nervous,â you admitted shyly.Â
âDonât be,â she replied, voice soft. âHey, if you could pull off that scavenger hunt, this should be a piece of cake.â She smirked wickedly at you.Â
You laughed, âActually, youâre right.â
âI always am.â she shrugged
âSHOWTIME EVERYONE, GET IN YOUR PLACES!â Ms. Lightbodyâs voice boomed across the whole backstage.Â
You both looked at each other. âBreak a leg.â She grinned at you.Â
You grinned right back. You could handle this.Â
The anxiety from before had mostly worn off. Now, all you felt were nervous jitters and even a little excitement. Everyone was right, you knew everything about this play like the back of your hand, and you were looking forward to being out there with people youâd come to think of as friends.Â
You got into place, standing beside Brad and some of your other cast-mates who were going to be in this first scene with you.
âHey,â he said, voice low and he looked down at you with a large smile on his face.Â
âHi,â you replied, smiling right back.Â
âDonât think I got the chance to tell you, but Iâm really happy youâre doing this.â
âYeah, I think I am too.â
âCurtain warmers on?â Ms. Lightbody spoke into a little headset. âPerfect. AndâŠaction!â
The lights blinded you for a second, once the curtain opened, and you had to stop yourself from turning your face away. In the beat you had before the scene came to life, you chanced a glance at the crowd. You really wished you hadnât.Â
Peter Parker was sitting front row.Â
As quickly as you looked, you averted your gaze, but not before you noticed a few things. Beside him sat Ned, and in the row behind them, right behind Nedâs chair, sat MJ. And all three of them had their mouths hanging open. You had to fight down the heat threatening to rise to your face.Â
You never told them, hell, you didnât even know. What were they gonna think? There was no way you could pull this off, you were all fooling yourselves, everyone was wrong and-
The first line was delivered, and it all came to life.Â
You were panting, running backstage. There was a small intermission at the moment, and you had just changed your outfit, from the simple gown you were adorning, to a bigger one. This one was more detailed and more eye-catching. It was supposed to be special because it was meant for the last scene of the whole play. The confession. Your kiss with Brad.
In the heat of the moment, youâd forgotten that specific detail. And as you sat down in the makeup chair again and one of the girls reapplied your lipstick, it was all you could think about.Â
You had to kiss Brad. And Peter would be sitting front row watching the whole thing.Â
That shouldnât matter. First of all, it was all part of an act. Even if you were still with Peter, (which you werenât. You had to keep reminding yourself of that little detail) it wouldnât have mattered because you were doing it for the play. A play you werenât even planning on being a part of, acting-wise, of course.Â
And then there was Spider-Man. If there was anyone you had to be kissing right now, you wished it was him. But there was no chance of that happening after last night. You wondered how he was feeling right now. Heâd probably tell you to relax and stop stressing yourself out.Â
The thought made you take in a breath through your mouth, and slowly exhale from your nose. Just like heâd taught you. You felt yourself relax and, not for the first time that night, you decided that you needed to just get through tonight. And then you could worry about everything else.Â
The girl helping you with your makeup (you didnât recognize her, but appreciated the help nonetheless) pulled away and smiled. âAlright, I think youâre good to go.âÂ
âThank you.â You smiled back and stood from your chair.
Ms. Lightbody approached you, placing a hand on your shoulder, âCome on, Miss Y/L/N. We need to get you in place.â
You nodded as she led you to the wing on the side of the stage, the curtains were still down, and by the time they opened again, you would be standing on the makeshift balcony (built by the props team), soon to be joined by Brad.Â
You went to approach the steps of the balcony when you felt her hold you back.
âI wanted to thank you again Y/N. I know we were all planning on Miss Walker doing all this but honestlyâŠI couldnât be prouder.â
Your heart warmed at her confession. You were upset you didnât get to see Lexi shine like youâd been planning but you hoped youâd do her proud. You were glad to know you did Ms. Lightbody proud.Â
Without saying a word, you throw your arms around her in a warm embrace. She quickly reciprocated.Â
âI know weâve all given you a hard time these past few weeks, and we donât say it enough but we appreciate you. All of us.â
You both pulled back and her eyes were full of emotion. âThank you Y/N, truly. Now go, Iâll get Mr. Davis ready.â
You nodded and stepped onto the set, positioning yourself at the end of the balcony. The balcony protruded from the side of the stage and covered a quarter of it. The backdrop youâd been appreciating just yesterday now stood to your side. You saw parts of it glitter from the light leaking in from backstage and you stifled a laugh.
Soon, the curtain opened. Youâd grown used to the lights by now, welcoming their glow over your face. You gripped the railing and played broken-hearted, right now, Stephanie and Gabriel had just had a falling out during a ball and you had run out onto the balcony to get some air.Â
âStephanie.â Brad approached behind you, and you turned around in fake shock.
The hardest part about acting, youâd come to find, was keeping a serious face and not laughing at yourself or your partner.
âLeave me be, Gabriel.â You waved a hand at him, turning away.Â
He caught your arm and held it gently between the two of you, standing so close, you were trapped between the railing and him.
âIÂ canât,â he said, his voice strangled. He looked down at you, face so pained, you almost believed him.Â
And so it began, the two of you going back and forth, delivering your lines, monologues about your feelings for each other, and how nothing in the world mattered except holding the other person, even for a moment.Â
Brad was finishing up, he was pacing back and forth in front of you while you listened intently.
ââŠAnd all this, because I love you.â He stopped in front of you now, hands coming up to cup your face. You did your best to get your expression to convey the love you (or Stephanie) were supposed to be feeling and then it happened.Â
Brad leaned, crashing his lips onto yours. You throw your arms around him, meeting him just as eagerly, and tried your best not to think about all the people currently watching suck each otherâs faces off. One of his hands traveled down to your waist while the other moved from your cheek to hold the back of your head as he dipped you. Cheers broke out across the crowd.Â
You two stayed locked together like that for a few moments as the curtains closed, and then you broke apart. You were both panting, faces flushed, but you didnât have time to think about what just happened. You and Brad had started moving off the balcony and onto the actual stage itself, the other members of the cast and crew joining you to take the final bow.Â
You all lined up across the stage, hands interlocked. With you and Brad in the middle, the curtains opened. You could still hear the applause before, but now, it got even louder and you couldnât help the big smile that overtook your face. People were whistling, and clapping, someone was even throwing roses. You all took a bow together, and rose together, throwing your interlocked hands in the air.Â
Your body was buzzing with adrenaline. It was over, youâd actually done it. You could see Ms. Lightbody standing to the side, gleaming with pride at you all.Â
Soon, you all let go of each other and started embracing and exchanging congratulations. Brad turned toward you and pulled you into a tight hug, lifting you up a little. You laughed, holding onto him just as tight. The applause seemed never-ending, even as you all started walking off stage.Â
Now backstage, there was a buzz in the air. Not the same as a couple hours ago, which had been anxiety and nerves. This was triumph, pride, and adrenaline.Â
âAlright everyone,â Ms. Lightbody approached the center of the room once everyone had reconvened. âWeâve finally finished. And it was a hit.â
That caused everyone to start whooping and shouting. She rolled her eyes but even she couldnât hide the smile creeping onto her face.Â
She held up a hand, âOkay. I just wanted to let you all know, how proud I am of each and every single one of you. You all worked so hard to make this happen and you worked through every problem that came your way.â She gave you a pointed look and the cheers started up again.Â
You hid your face in your hands as your friends pulled you into side hugs. âAnd I just wanted to say,â she continued. âWeâve all had a long night. Leave the cleaning for another day, everyone, go celebrate!â
She waved her hands and everyone started cheering again, moving as one to the back door to meet up with their friends and family.Â
As soon as you entered the hall you were bombarded by thanks and praises from your friends. You thanked them and threw their compliments right back at them, saying that this whole thing was a group effort.Â
You were flying from one group to another, everyone shouting your name. You were currently with Noah, Jack, and Lacy, telling them how good a job they did on the sets when you heard your name being shouted out again.
You turned around and saw MJ. Grinning, you excused yourself from the group and charged at her, pulling her into a hug without giving her any time to protest. To your surprise, she pulled you in just as tight.Â
âWhy didnât you tell me?â She mumbled into your hair.Â
âOh my god,â you started, âMJ it was insane. It all happened so fast, that Lexi got sick, so she didnât show up! And I knew all the lines and stuff so I had to step in cause no one thought of casting an understudy and-,â
You pulled back from the hug but kept your hands on her shoulders. âOh my god, what did you think? Was it bad? You can tell me -,â
âNo! No way, holy shit Y/N, it was so good!âÂ
âSeriously?â you smiled at her. âWhat happened to the whole âschool productions are so cringeâ mindset?â
âThat was before her best friend was starring in one,â said Ned. You hadnât realized he was standing beside you two, with Peter beside him.
âDonât worry, Y/N,â He continued. âThe show was amazing. And you popping up on stage was a fun surprise.â
You grinned at him. âThank you, Ned! Iâm so happy you all made it.â You looked at Peter and offered him a small smile. Heâd really helped you out today, and the fact that heâd made it to the actual show, and stuck it out till the end, meant a lot as well.Â
âOh of course we made it!â Ned cut it, putting your attention back on him. âPetey here wouldnât shut up about it. Went out and bought you flowers and everything.â
Your mouth fell open at his words, and for the first time, you noticed the large bouquet in Peterâs arms. You saw Peter nudge his friend hard and Ned winced before his face lit up in understanding. He grabbed MJ by the hand (which she quickly yanked back from him) and said, âOk, well weâre gonna go talk to someone else. Congrats Y/N!â But you didnât have a chance to reply before he was scurrying off, MJ with him.Â
You stared at them for a bit before turning all your attention to Peter. He cleared his throat before saying, âHey.â
âHi.â
âThese are for you,â he said, holding out the bouquet of fresh flowers. You accepted them from him and brought them up to your nose, taking in a whiff of the sweet scent.Â
âMy favorite.â You whispered, fingers lightly tracing the petals.Â
He nodded. âYeah, um, I saw them and I thought you might like them. Especially with everything, you know,â he gestured vaguely, âthought youâd like some flowers.â
Your heart warmed at the thought that he saw your favorite flowers while he was out and thought of you. âThank you, really. But you didnât have to do that.â
âI wanted to.â He admitted.Â
You looked around, unable to meet his eyes. You focused on the floor, âWell thanks Parker, that was really sweet of you.â
He sighed, âY/N please, I donât want to-,â
But he got cut off by someone shouting your name. âY/N!â Brad approaches you two. He looked Peter up and down before turning to you, âHey, so the whole cast and stuff is going out for ice cream in our costumes, thought itâd be fun. Wanna join?â
Your face lit up, âOf course!âÂ
He grinned right back at you. âGreat. Come on, theyâre leaving now.
You turned towards Peter, whose expression looked harder than before. âListen, thank you so much for your help today, it means a lot. And thank you for the flowers.â
He nodded but his attention was on Brad. He finally turned toward you, his expression notably softening, âLike I said before, anything for you Y/N/N.â
You stayed there for a bit, caught in his eyes, unable to look away. It isnât until Brad places a hand on your shoulder that you realize youâve been staring.
âReady to go?â He asked. You nodded and turned to leave. As you were walking out the door, you turned to look over your shoulder. You werenât even sure why, but as you did, you caught Peter already staring. You sent him a little wave and he returned it before turning and walking away himself, shoving his hands in his pockets.Â
You walked to the ice cream shop with the others, still holding your flowers. And after everything that happened today, all you could think about was Peter.Â
You had a blast. The ice cream shop was packed with a bunch of high school kids in old-timesy clothing, laughing and joking with each other.Â
Brad had paid for your ice cream, despite your multiple refusals, claiming that they all owed you for stepping in and saving their asses.
âConsider it a thank you for that great kiss earlier.â He winked before walking off.Â
That had gotten you to shut up.Â
You all sat at tables surrounding each other, even pushing some together. You ate your ice cream in peace, joining the conversation every now and then to make a joke.Â
Someone had gotten Lexi on the phone and you all said hello. She congratulated you and you thanked her, letting her know you thought it shouldâve been her on that stage instead. She made some joke about âif you wanted the whole front row to be covered in vomit, then I totally shouldâve been there, youâre right.â And you all laughed. Â
You had noticed Jack and Lacy moved to their own spot across the store. They were laughing together with Jackâs arm around her cocooning them from the world. It seemed they had finally gotten together and you couldnât be more happy for them.
For some reason, the only thing on your mind was Spider-Man. It was silly but all you could think about was finding a way to make things right with him. It sucked that you had no way to reach him, but youâd decided to wait on the roof tonight, hoping heâd see you while swinging and stop by. Even if he left right after you apologized, you wouldnât mind. You just wanted to see him.Â
You realized how late it was getting, and that it was usually now when you met up with him. So you'd asked Martha, (her mom helped with costumes, but she worked on the props) for a ride back since she had a car and lived in an apartment building near yours.Â
She quickly agreed, claiming she was ready to go too, but she had to walk back to the school to grab her car.Â
So youâd waited, but you couldnât fight off your anxiety. Your leg kept bouncing up and down. You stayed like that for a while before Brad put a hand on your knee, stopping the action.
âYou alright,â he asked, some sort of half-smile on his face. You looked at him then and thought, I can see why people like you Brad. He was kind, he was funny, he was fairly handsome, pretty popular too. And yet all you could think about was heading back home and waiting for someone you didnât even really know.Â
You nodded, âYeah, Iâm just waiting for Martha to pull up.â
âI could walk you home if you wanted.â He offered.Â
You smiled but shook your head, âNo, but thank you, Iâm kind of in a rush.â
âEverything alright?â
âEverythingâs fine.â You assured him. âJustâŠtired.â
âYeah,â he nodded at you. âI get that. But hey.â
You looked up at him expectantly.Â
âBefore you go thereâs something Iâve been meaning to ask you.â
Your eyes shot open. âOh?â You said, and it felt oddly reminiscent of that moment the two of you shared in the hall.Â
âYeah. Would you wanna go out with me sometime?â
âLike a date?â You blurted out. Like an idiot, you thought. You knew it was coming and yet youâre acting like he just told you he was Taylor Swift.Â
He smiled at you and nodded, âYeah, like a date.â
Oh Martha, where are you?
You were silent for a few seconds before you cleared your throat. There was no crawling away this time, no Peter running to interrupt. You had to face this.Â
âI really like you Brad butâŠI canât out with you.â
His expression fell a little, but he didnât look surprised. âItâs Parker, isnât it?â
You were taken aback. âHuh?â
He nodded his head towards and flowers lying in your lap, âParker. I saw you two today. When he was helping before the show, that was all for you. He sat front row before he even knew you were going to be on that stage.â
You blew out a breath and ran a hand through your hair, which youâd taken out of its updo. âI donât know.â You told him honestly. âI donât know and thatâs the problem. Things are still really weird between me and him, and going out with you? That wouldnât be fair to me or you.â And the other person you couldnât wait to see.
He nodded again, understanding coating his features. âI get that, but hey,â he smiled at you, âweâre still friends right?â
You grinned wide, relief flowing through you. The last thing youâd wanted to do was hurt his feelings and you were so glad he was taking this so well.Â
âOf course we are,â you replied honestly. Right then, your phone started ringing and you stood up to answer. Martha was outside waiting for you.
You walked back to your table, saying your goodbyes to everyone. You were pulled into hugs and thanked a few more times. You really wanted to take your time but you couldnât stop the part of you that wanted to rush home and sprint onto the rooftop.Â
As soon as you were out the door you were sprinting to the car. You spent the whole ride anxiously fiddling with the bouquet of flowers from Peter.Â
You barely thanked her as you stepped out the door, closing it and waving goodbye as she pulled away.Â
You rushed straight up the stairs, wasting no minute. You felt hopeful, for the first time in a long time. You were going to make sure he knew you were sorry, make sure the two of you remained friends.Â
You stepped onto the roof, the wind blowing around you. Only then did you realize you were still in your costume. That didnât matter though, you didnât want to risk going down to change. And you were sure that if he did stop by tonight, he would love to hear about the crazy day you had.Â
You stepped close to the ledge, setting the bouquet down by your feet and you leaned over slightly, trying to catch a glimpse of the hero youâd come to think of as a friend.Â
A weird sense of familiarity washed over you, and you realized, this was exactly what youâd been doing a few hours ago. Standing on that makeshift balcony, waiting for your lover to come so you could make amends. Except, this wasnât a fake balcony, and there was no way you and Spider-Man were lovers, barely friends at best. But still, there was something familiar there.
You waited. And waited. Just when you were starting to give up hope, you heard the small thwip youâd come to realize signaled his arrival. Soon after, you heard a pair of feet land in the middle of your rooftop.Â
You turned toward him, heart racing. For a moment neither of you said anything, just stared at each other, but you quickly decided you needed to get your words out before he left again like last night.
âI am so sorry. Iâve been so worried since last night that I upset you and I can't stand it, please would you-,â
OhâŠ.oh.
Before you could even inhale to get your next word out, he was walking towards you, ripping his mask off, gripping your face, and pulling you into a deep kiss.
You didnât even get to see him but that was the last thought on your mind. He was kissing you. And it was perfect. Your hands flew up to his hair, and you tugged slightly, making him kiss you even harder.
His mouth moved against yours like heâd been waiting his whole life to do this, and couldnât believe he finally got the chance. You met him just as eagerly, for each kiss, trying to memorize the feeling of his lips on yours.
Something about this, all of it, felt so, so familiar. But every time you made to pull away, his lips chased yours and you couldnât help but give in.Â
Soon enough you both pulled away to catch your breaths, eyes still shut as you leaned into each other, foreheads touching. You enjoyed the moment for a bit, and then you opened your eyes, about to make a joke about how that was an interesting way to accept an apology.
You gasped out loud, hands flying up to cover your mouth as you stumbled backward.Â
âOh my god,â you whispered. âOh my god.â
âY/N/N, Iâm so sorry,â he says. Peter says. Because itâs Peter standing in front of you right now and he didnât seem to be the least bit taken aback by your reaction.
Youâre unsure what to say to him, your head is reeling and you can't breathe.Â
âOh my god,â you repeated, your voice barely a breath.Â
âY/N, please, please let me explain.â He stepped toward you and reached out a hand.Â
You shook your head so quick, that you thought you might give yourself whiplash. âNo. This,â you pointed at him, âis so sick, Peter.â Your voice broke at the end and you tried to fight back the tears that were already burning in your eyes.Â
His eyes widened. âY/N I promise you, itâs not what you think-,â
âWhat do you think I think Peter?â You asked him, voice full of exasperation. âBecause I think, you lied to me. I think, you played me for a fool. I think, youâre sick and twisted for sitting here with me every night and playing friends with me. Asking me about my day, pretending to care. Fuck, asking me about my ex. Continuously,
âI think,â you continued, tears flowing freely now, voice shaky and weak, but still conveying your anger. âI think you got me to trust you, again. Just so you could stomp all over every bit of me, again!â
âItâs not like that Y/N, it was never like that. Please, believe me, sweetheart. Please donât cry.â He begged, looking like it was taking every muscle in his body to hold himself back from pulling you in again.Â
âWhy should I believe you?â You snapped at him. It was hard for him to believe that, just a minute ago, he was holding you again. Kissing you like nothing else in the world mattered. Heâd give anything to have that back.
âBecause every moment we had out here was real! Every concern, every question. I was never playing pretend, I just, ugh!â He groaned out loud, dropping his head in his hands, and tugging his hair tightly before looking up at you again. âI fucked up Y/N,â his voice is watery, and because you canât undo the time you spent together, as Peter and as Spider-Man, you canât help the strong impulses you feel to hold him tight. But you stand your ground and wait for him to continue.
âFirst when I didnât tell you about this,â he said gesturing towards his suit. âWhich has its own reasons. And then again, when I bailed on you all those times, which was because of this. And again when I let you walk away from me that night at school. I shouldâve fought for you, I shouldâve shown up more, I shouldâve shown up every time and never given you any reason to not trust me,
âBut I didnât. And you called things off⊠And at that moment, all I could think was you, walking down the streets of New York, crying, and distracted.â He shuddered and your heart fell. Youâd never thought of it like that. âYou donât know the things Iâve seen,â he said, looking up at you, eyes red and face flushed.Â
âSo I thought Iâd just walk you home, make sure you got there safely, and then Iâd start staying away. But it was you,â his voice broke. âAnd you were so upset and all I could think was that itâs my fault and I hated myself. So when you invited me to hang out on the roof with you, I thought Iâd show up, try to cheer you up a little,
âAnd you made me tea, that night,â he laughed softly. âI donât think you even realized, but you made it the way I always drink my tea. My favorite.â Your mouth fell open a little when you realized you had, in fact, made his favorite tea that night. Heâd told you during a late-night conversation before you two had started dating, and ever since, it was the only tea you drank.Â
âSo I had to stay,â he continued. âAnd then we started talking, and you were joking, and telling me things I had no idea about. And I never wanted to leave,â he admitted softly.Â
âWhy didnât you tell me?â You asked him, pointing at his mask on the floor, voice raspy from the tears still clogged in your throat. âWhen we were still together? Iâll bet that's why you were always bailing, isnât it?â
He looked down and nodded. âIt is. Or was. I wanted to,â he looked up at you suddenly, his face so sincere, that you could feel the desperation in his next words. âGod Y/N, you have no idea how many times I almost did. But I stopped myself every time because the risks of you knowing were too high.â
âRisks?â You asked confused.
He nodded, âIâve met a lot of people. Bad people. And if the one catches wind of this, of you? If someone ever tried something, Iâd never forgive myself.â He looked away shaking his head.
âSo no one knows?â
He shook his head again. âOnly Ned and May.â
âNed knows?â You knew they were best friends, but really?
âIt's not like that, no.â He waved his hand. âHe found out by accident. He was waiting in my room one day, and I crawled in through the window âcause I didnât see him.â
You huff out a breath from your nose. That was so Peter. Youâd bet money that May found out in some similar situation.
âWait,â you started, âif we went through all of that, and you still didnât tell me, why tell me now?â
âBecause I canât stand to be away from you any longer.â His voice sounded broken, like heâd been dying to get that off his chest.
He stepped closer again, and you didnât push him away this time, much to his surprise. He doesnât stop until heâs standing right in front of you.
âIâll protect you from anything or anyone that may come your way. Iâd do anything for you sweetheart,â he repeated his words from earlier and you felt something grow in your chest. One of his hands came up to cup your cheek, the other, moving to your waist. Your hands rose up to lay on his chest.Â
âGod, you have no idea how much it was killing me to sit beside you all those nights and not be able to touch you.â He whispered, staring straight into your eyes.Â
You met his gaze. You believed him, every word. Youâd known Peter for years, you knew when he was lying to you, which was part of why you broke up with him. You knew he was lying to you, or holding something back from you, you just didnât know what. But you still had a few more questions.Â
âLast night. Why did you run off? Why didnât you just tell me then?â
âBecause I was a coward,â he admitted, expression sad. âI was enjoying it all too much, I wasnât ready to ruin it yet. I still couldnât believe I found a way to still talk to you, and you were asking to see me,â he blew out a breath.
Yeah, obviously that didnât initially start well.Â
You nodded. âAnd when you kept asking me about you. About my ex and how I felt about him, why?â That part still had you confused
He looked up, closing his eyes, âI wonât lie to you sweetheart, that was just me being a dumbass. That was complete selfishness andâŠ,â
He trailed off. âAnd what?â You questioned him. There was some unspoken thing you two were doing right now, that you could ask anything, and heâd answered honestly. It was the least he could do.Â
âAnd jealously,â he finished quietly, looking down at the ground.
âJealousy?â You repeated, still confused. âBut who would you be jealous ofâŠoh.â
And it was then that you realized how youâd talked about Brad to Spider-Man (before you knew who he was of course), and how, right after, when heâd asked about Peter, youâd said something about just trying to forget the whole thing. You had to hold back a laugh when you remembered all that. Poor guy mustâve been going insane.Â
He nodded. âYou kept talking about that Brad guy and talking about trying to get over me. And I hated that you seemed to be getting over me so quick. Like I said, completely selfish. I'm sorry.â
âNo,â you shook your head, âthat makes sense actually. But seriously Peter..â You trailed off, shaking your head again.
Worry crept onto his features, âI know I messed up Y/N/N, big time, but Iâm willing to do anything-,â
âYou really thought I was into Brad?â You asked, wrinkling your nose up at him.Â
He let out a breath of relief, before laughing a little. God, he was so happy you were joking with him.Â
He leaned down and pressed his forehead against yours, âIâm sorry sweetheart.â
âYouâre forgiven,â you told him, the sincerity in your tone impossible to miss, and he knew you were talking about more than the crazy jealousy.Â
He looked down into your eyes, his gaze so intense you almost went to look away. âIâm the luckiest man alive,â he whispered, his voice so low, you wondered if he even meant to say it out loud.
His eyes flickered down to your lips, and you took that as your cue. You leaned in, closing the gap between you. He kissed you back instantly. It was softer than the one earlier, but way more meaningful. Every press of his lips on yours felt like repairing something. Mending whatever it was that had broken between the two of you.
You pulled away first because you knew he wouldnât, but he didnât let you get far. He started planting kisses all over your face.
"Have I told you," Kiss. "How beautiful," Kiss. "I think you look tonight? And every night."
You laughed, face heating up at his compliments. "Thank you, Petey."
"I love it when you call me that." He said, grinning like a lovesick idiot. He leaned in and kissed your cheek one more time before he pulled away again.Â
"I didn't like it." He said, a frown on his face.
"Didn't like what babe?" You asked, tilting your head up at him while your fingers played with the hair at the nape of his neck.
He let out a sigh, "The breakup. Being broken up. Not talking to you, as me, I mean. Not as Spider-Man. And I sure as hell didn't like seeing some other guy make out with my girl in front of everyone."
You laughed and you felt butterflies erupt in your stomach when he called you his girl. "Well don't worry," you told him, moving your hands to cup his face. "We're not doing that again, not if we can help it."
You leaned in and gave him a quick peck on the lips, before pulling away, which made him whine.Â
He moved his hands to your shoulder as he buried his face in your neck, breathing in your scent.Â
âYou drive me crazy, sweetheart.â He said, voice muffled by your skin.Â
You giggled, âYou drive me crazier, Peter Parker.â

Vanilla Ice Cream
Content: Sierra Six is your newly appointed bodyguard. You only want to make his life a living hell so he can leave. That is until unfortunate circumstances make you feel closer to him, and eventually like his company.
Warnings: Lil bit of angst, reader's a brat, fluff, inebriation, blood, vomiting, language, death
Word count: 6.8k
When you saw him, all you could think was how it was just another pointless bodyguard who might fail to do their job. Apparently, you were notorious for being a spoiled brat, as your father so explained, and no one else wanted to work with you because of it. Your lips twitch in irritation at the thought. You? Spoiled? Please.Â
âI donât need a bodyguard! Itâs not even a bodyguard anyways, itâs a babysitter! Iâm so tired of being watched every day! Canât I have some goddamn privacy?! Iâm like 25!â You yell out to your father who is as usual, too busy calmly packing things into his neatly confined suitcase.Â
âEnough (Y/n), youâre going to have a bodyguard because you canât seem to sit still for once.âÂ
âOh, maybe because, again, Iâm 25 DAD! Iâm so sorry for wanting to go out and have fun!â
âI have a target on my head, your mother has a target on her head, therefore YOU have a target on your head. What do you not understand?â Youâve heard this quote a million times at this point so you just wave it off. Â
âYeah, and? That target has gotten us nowhere but money spent on these so-called body guards and given us senseless paranoia. Nothing has ever happened, and nothing will. Just relax already.â Maybe you knew you were being selfish, but you didnât care, it was true.
âI am going to be gone for not just a day, not just 2, not even a full week, but almost 2 months.â He emphasizes. âI need the best security there is for you, do you understand? Someone is bound to try something.â He gives you a finished expression and then glimpses to the maid. âMargaret open the gates for Sierra six.â Your father says. She nods and briskly walks off.Â
You roll your eyes and huff, âdad!âÂ
âHeâll be here any minute now. Introduce yourself, be nice, and we will see you in 2 months.â You open your mouth to speak and he holds up a finger.Â
âDonât give this poor man any trouble than he needs, or at least enough that I have to hear about it. I donât need yet another bodyguard that refuses to work with us because of you.â Your father rubs his fingers at the bridge of his nose to display his exhaustion.Â
âWhat do you mean because of me?â You cross your arms and huff, âI donât do anything to any of them.â
âDonât play coy.âÂ
You shake your head, âiâm not.â You kind of were. Just kind of.Â
âYou are. Donât act like every guard so far hasnât wanted to reverse the contract and shoot you themselves.â You cross your legs and turn your head.Â
âThey start it.â That was also most definitely not true.Â
A brooding man makes himself known at the doorway. A tall figure, blue grayish eyes, sandy dark blonde locks, and somehow a face and demeanor that could make a mother proud.Â
âAnother fit pretty face.â Was the first thing you say and your father instantly gives you a look that says donât.Â
Pursing your lips, you hum begrudgingly and step in front of the man. âMy name is (Y/n), nice to meet you.â A clear fake smile burns into your features, and you stretch your hand out. Sierra Six doesnât say anything, he remains stoic and silent. He then places his hand into your own and firmly shakes it. His hand felt warm and rough like he was born fighting every day, and you made a note to remember that.Â
âHave a safe trip Dad!â You speak with honey, tiptoeing on your pretty little expensive slippers. Planting a kiss on his cheek, you give a side eye to six. A sadistic joy twitches into the edge of your lip, and you give him one last look before he turns to his side to let you pass through the doorway.Â
Fitz told him it was going to be a trip, and he believed it. For the past few days all you were trying to do was tick him, to break him, to over-exaggerate every little opinion you had, to make sure heâd want to get up and leave himself.Â
âI despise ketchup with my fries, why canât we just have some alternative, what do you think Mr. Sierra six?â You would complain about one moment. Then the next moment you went on about how chocolate was better than vanilla, about how winter sucks because you canât use your lavish pool, why red is better than yellow, why Pepsi tastes better than coca cola, and so on.Â
âSo whatâs your real name mr. six?â you ask him, your legs crossed over one another as you sat by him. His fingers were expertly working at the computer ahead of him, and he only gives you a split second of a look. âNothing?â You inch closer, your red heels dangling near his legs.Â
âWhy are all you guards so boring? Hm? Itâs been like 3 days and you canât say more than 2 words.â Throwing your head back, you groan out loud. Finally, you thought of an idea, and you glance back at him, grinning. Â
âWell then you wouldnât mind if I invited my friend over would you?â A giggle escapes. âNo. Of course not.â Pulling out your phone, you scroll through your contacts and grin.Â
âYouâre not supposed to have anyone over.â Finally, Mr. Special Sierra Six speaks. You wave your phone and laugh.Â
âItâs just one friend pretty boy, come on now, donât be shy. She wonât give you as much as a bite⊠though.. she might try to get into your pants.â Snickering to yourself, he gives you that same blank stare. You click on your friend Cacie, and she answers the phone just as fast. Smiling wide, youâre already pulling it to your ear and telling her to come over.Â
âThereâs a little special surprise for you. This one is good this time.âÂ
âCanât wait~â she says with that little mischievous snicker at the end of her words. She hangs up and you know sheâs already on her way.Â
âHey pretty boy, do you like wine? Wait donât answer that. You strike me as a.. on the rocks type of guy. Let me guess.. bourbon? Scotch?â Six doesnât respond, and you tap at your chin. âWhiskey!â Six gives you a glimpse, and you know you got it.Â
âLet me guess, âI canât drink on the job,â you mimic him, âjust one little glass wouldnât hurt.â Already pouring the whiskey into the glass, you shoot him a side look. Heâs still working at his computer, and at this point a guard might be sighing, rolling their eyes, or shaking their head. But heâs quite diligent. It was impressive.Â
You set the glass in front of him, and he doesnât even eye you. âJust a sip for me, pretty please?â You give him the sweetest orbs you could muster, but it wasnât very good knowing you. Eventually he gives you a look, and this time it stays. You couldnât know what he was thinking with his expression at all. âCome on, please? I wonât bother you at all after this.â You tilt your head, and your eyes glimmer a certain sadism that screams out your lies.
âIâm good.â Sierra six speaks, turning back to his screen, and you create a fake pout.Â
âThatâs no fun.â You take the glass you poured him and take a sip. Your gaze lingers on him. He knows youâre staring, you know he knows youâre staring, but you still do it. The nails of yours tap onto the glass one finger at a time, and you rest your free hand at your cheek. Still stuck in your peering, you donât realize the doorbell rings.Â
âYou should probably get that.â Six states, and you smile sarcastically. You shouldâve made him get up and do it himself for that smugness.Â
A swift smirk dawns on you when Cacies pretty face is revealed. Her red lips are stunning, and her blonde coils are wrapped up. She wears her velvet red slim-fit dress, and you know she always wore this one to seduce the prettiest of guards. âCacie dear, meet Sierra Six.â Cacie walks up to him right away, a burning intrigue in her light blue orbs.
âYou are quite the pretty one, arenât you? Older, though. You could probably be my dad⊠but lucky for you, I like that.â She sways her hips to the side and giggles. There is a little flicker of annoyance inside of you that you push down. Six glances up and says nothing, he doesnât even give a reaction, no visible sigh, no rude comment, not even a linger over her body to show he secretly enjoyed it. Cacie was more than intrigued by that though, and you knew she was 100% willing to break him by the nightâs end.Â
Cacie turns her back to six, and she unclips her hair and rolls her head slowly, pulling her fingers to her scalp to massage out the little bumps while her hair rolls evenly at the end of her back. Cacie pulls out her phone and loud music begins to blare out. Six doesnât flinch, but he exhales a barely noticeable sigh that finally showed irritation. It was subtle, but you knew. You take a sip of the whiskey and giggle. Cacie breaks out into a little dance, and Sierra Six closes his laptop and gets up.
It was getting late so he carries his little flashlight and shines at the glass windows to make sure no intruder was around the corners. You roll a lighter in your hands and flick at it, igniting a small fire that you raise to your cigarette. Taking a deep inhale, you blow a trail of smoke in front of you and stand.Â
âDance with me (Y/n), you know you love this song!â Cacie shouts, moving her hand into the curves of her ass. Your gaze lingers over to your bodyguard and you flick your cigarette to the floor. You take another swig of whiskey, and Cacie turns to you with a bottle of champagne in her hands. A big grin stretches her lips and yours do the same. You break out into laughter and she mimics, pouring a generous amount into your glass. She was more of a wine girl, so sheâd always have her little special bottle that sheâd love to get from some handsome cashier to share a long sip with you. You place your glass down and begin to move your body with the music.Â
âYouâre free to join too,â Cacie throws a wink at six, and he gives a glimpse before getting back to work.Â
Throughout the night Cacie sends every little flirt, any little comment, even a flash of her tits to six, and alas no response. You on the other hand couldnât care less and once Cacie leans down all drunken to six and tries to touch him, he finally speaks. âDonât touch.â You take this moment to finally pause the music. Falling to the couch with a sigh, you unbuckle your painful high heels and chuck them off to the side. Your stomach felt like it was violently churning.Â
âWhy? Afraid Iâll mess up your work? Get you fired?â Cacie chuckles, turning to you.Â
âI donât understand this guy. Heâs more boring than watching paint dry.â She grumbles. Huffing, you lean back to the couch and clutch your stomach. Thereâs a swirling that rushes to your throat, and you bite back the nausea.
âI really donât care Cacie, just stop bothering him,â you mumble off, unsure if you were even inteligible at this point. You pull your hair out of its restrictive tie and let the locks fall into your face. The headache that was beginning to brew pounds into your ears. Lines of haziness muddle together fast.Â
âWhat is wrong with you?â Cacie gives you a look of disgust as if it was just blasphemous what you uttered. You mumble into the leather, dragging your tired face into it. Your head lulls to the side, everything was too heavy.Â
âAre you okay?â Six asks from his position, his head turned over his shoulder, brows furrowed.Â
âSheâs just drunk,â Cacie rolls her eyes, gesturing towards you. You lean your head onto the curve of the armrest, and the way the light blares down into your sight has you rolling your eyes into the back of your head. Breathing raggedly, you follow Sixâs movements toward you, a sickness hits your chest again and you close your eyes, sucking in a pained breath. Six scans the half bottle of champagne, and then you. Suddenly a hand presses to your forehead and you attempt to flutter your lids open. Beads of sweat drip down your skin, and your hair becomes so wet it clings to your cheeks.Â
With a sudden sternness six asks, âWhat was in the champagne?â
Cacie throws up her hands and scoffs. âHow the fuck am I supposed to know? Champagne? I bought it at the store.â
Six rotates the bottle, attempting to find any language or label on the glass. âFrom who?â Cacie sighs and rolls her eyes dramatically. âI donât know. The fucking cashier, who else?âÂ
âDid you say anything to them? Like how you were going to be alone?â Six asks, staring up at Cacie who quiets, a certain guilty look on her face. He raises his brows and she throws up her hands again.Â
âWell⊠I didnât think it was gonna be a big deal. I just told him that her dad was finally going out of town for more than just a few days, and he gave me that from behind the counter.â She holds a slightly worried expression as six gives her a blank look. You groan out loud as the pain in your stomach swirls. The bile was reaching your throat, the acid, the nausea, you couldnât hold it back anymore. You violently hurl over the leather couch until your stomach expels every ounce of liquid it can. Before you knew it you were carried away and forced to sit in a car seat before you passed out cold.Â
When you woke up you are met with a hospital ceiling, and upon turning, you find six at the corner, standing. Pulling your arms to your sight you see an IV in your wrist, alongside other needles. Anxiety spikes, and you gasp, rushing to get out of the bed.
Six rushes to you, gesturing with his hands to calm down, âHey hey, lay back down, relax." You hesitantly ease back in.
âWhat happened?â You ask.Â
âYour friend gave you a poisoned bottle of champagne.â He states blankly. Rolling your eyes at the paranoia, you cross your arms.Â
âIâm sure I was just drunk.â Sighing, you look out at the window nearby.Â
âDo you normally puke out blood when youâre drunk?â He says, tilting his head, and you turn to him.Â
âOnly when Iâm having a good time,â you canât help but joke and smile to yourself, eyes now glued to the outside.
Six was quiet, and you shift your focus on him. He has a straight face like usual. You had a deep feeling that maybe if you werenât purposely attempting to annoy him for the past few days, he mightâve liked you as a person.
âSorry.â You mutter.Â
He raises a brow, and you go on a nervous rant. âI just never get to be alone, so I get angry. So far every guard has quit, and that was always my intention. But..â The words were at the tip of your tongue, but you just couldnât bear to say thank you, that he saved your life of course, a feat no guard has ever done, and probably never wouldâve.Â
âI understand if you will.â It is quiet for a moment, and you sigh, keeping your gaze just stuck to the window. You swallow sharply, and it feels like razor blades scratching down your throat.Â
âI wonât. Itâs my job.â Sierra six states like some automated robot.Â
Pushing your head into the pillow, you scoff. âEven when you got a girl whoâs trying to make your life a living hell?âÂ
âIâve been with worse company.â For just a moment, you can see a shimmer in his eyes, and thereâs just the smallest prettiest little curl at the edge of his lips. Grinning widely, you make out a laugh. Though, itâs not for long before you cough out a gross chunk of phlegm, or even blood maybe.Â
âYou okay?â He asks, moving to you as you nod weakly.
âYeahâŠâ You trail off tiredly. âCan we go home now?â He finally chuckles, and you turn to him, embarrassed, a slight blush burning in your cheeks.Â
âNot yet.â Thereâs a frown from you, and you sink into the bed, your eyes closing. Sixâs gaze lingers over you for a moment before he gets back into his past position, his hands folded neatly over each other.Â
Itâs been close to a month, and the only company you ever had was six, and you hated to say.. you were starting to fall in love with him. Maybe itâs because you were desperate for any social contact. Or maybe because he's the only one who actually broke your facade and you feel comfortable to be your self around him... Or maybe it was just.. something about him.. the way he would smile just slightly, his soft chuckles whenever you finally did make him laugh, his ability to remain so calm.. it was so peaceful and reassuring in your boring days.Â
âI mean seriously though, why isnât there an alternative to ketchup? Itâs not like Iâm just gonna put mustard on my fries, so you canât say thatâs one. Itâs either ketchup or fries alone. You know?â You complain while shoving a fry into your mouth, huffing. Six removes the attention from his computer, his brow raised.
âAre you done?â
You nod absentmindedly. âYouâre right, mustard sucks too.â
He lets out an impatient exhale, but there is just the slightest little twitch that nudges his lips into a smile. You find yourself grinning whenever you manage such a feat. Maybe he was annoyed at you, sure, but you knew he couldnât deny that the mindless banter was enjoyable, and even he couldn't help but join in it every now and then.Â
Six looks up at you with a stern but playful expression, âI like mustard.â
âHm. You do seem like a mustard guy.â You raise your spoon to him accusingly.Â
âWhatâs that supposed to mean?â He stops typing completely now, gaze locked onto you.Â
You circle your spoon and gesture to all of him. âIt just screams.. you, you know?âÂ
Six hums. âIs it the hair?âÂ
âYes! It is the hair!â You point to him and six nods, resuming his typing. He then shakes his head, and chuckles after a moment of silence. Smiling, you continue eating and snicker to yourself, well that is until a wonderful idea hits you. Â
âYou should teach me how to fight!â You shout and he gives you a blank look from his computer.Â
âWhy?â He asks.
âWell, what if someone breaks in and you need help?â He smiles only slightly, and your stare remains fixated on him. His beard compliments the frame of his sandy hair, and the blue of his eyes that glance your way. You loved picking those features out every now and then.Â
He averts to his screen, âI wonât need help. Trust me.â
âBut what if you do.â You retort.Â
âI wonât.â He shakes his head.Â
âBut what if-â
Six sighs, âAlright, Iâll teach you. Happy?â Hand resting against your cheek, you giggle. Six glimpses when you walk off. Then his gaze remains for a second too long.Â
Surely when he wasnât looking around the same spots, exits, and corners every moment, he could relax in a way that still made him feel like he was working. Thatâs what you hoped at least when you dragged him outside beside the pool and forced him to teach you his martial arts, or whatever.Â
âIâm not going to hit you,â he reminds you right off the bat.
You playfully gasp, pressing your knuckles to your hips. âWhat if someone bursts into my room and attempts to knock me out, hm?âÂ
âThat wonât happen.â You open your mouth to retort and he puts his hand up.
âDonât.â
You whisper the words âbut what if it does?â
You wouldâve believed him and even called yourself paranoid, but considering you just had an attempt of murder on you, unfortunately, the idea wasnât out the window anymore.
âHit me.â Six gestures, and you step back instinctively, a bundle of worry in your chest.Â
âAnywhere..?â You press your lips nervously into another. Â
âAnywhere.âÂ
You dive your balled-up fists at him, and he swiftly moves to the side. It was some impressive reflex, and you did it again only to watch him repeat. You take a step back and smile, breathing through your words. âSo, I guess my father doesnât hire useless people.â
The more you try, the more useless it is, but youâre determined until finally he grabs your wrist and holds it. âYouâre too predictable, you can do better. Come on.â A huff escapes, and you swing directly at his eye, but he dodges just in time.Â
âBetter.â Six pauses, and moves to you, grabbing your fist. âLike this.â He moves your hand in the direction, imitating the movement, and once he steps back, you copy. âGood,â he compliments, and you step back, smiling.
Six makes a gesture with his hand, directing it to him as if saying to keep it coming. Taking a deep breath, you move to punch him, and he dodges. You do the same movement several times and he all but does the same, except each time you notice you were getting just a little closer to his window.
Eventually, you pant and hold your hands to your knees. âThis is a lot more tiring than it looks.âÂ
Six looks around at the daylight slowly diminishing. âYou should eat, itâs dinnertime.â
âYou cooking?â You ask, taking a deep breath.Â
âNot unless you like cereal.â He jokes with that blank tone as he walks away, but you give a small chuckle before following him.Â
There was a question you were itching to ask as you sat down, and you gave him several glances to determine his mood. Then again there was never anything that showed what he might be thinking, so you purse your lips and look down at your food again. âWhat?â Six speaks up, and you turn to him, quietly staring.Â
âNothing,â you mutter, eating a forceful spoonful of your rice.Â
Sierra Six hums, his gaze lingering over you, and you stand, getting up to walk to your freezer. âThereâs no more ice cream,â you pout.Â
âGood. I wonât be able to hear about how chocolate is better than vanilla for a while now.â You turn around to Six who has a little playful glint in his eye, and you fake pout, moving to sit back down.Â
âYou didn't enjoy my talks?âÂ
âI wouldâve if you chose vanilla.â He jokes, and when you laugh he canât help the small smile that tugs his lips.
You rest your hand on your cheek and find yourself gawking at him. Six eventually speaks through the strange tension. âYou look like you have something youâre wanting to ask, so what is it?â
Biting your lip, you look away for a moment and eat another spoonful of bland rice. Life without your fancy chefs was definitely a depressing one.Â
âNothing I havenât already asked you.â You say in a small mumble, and six hums, stopping his movements at the laptop.Â
âYouâve asked me a lot in these past few weeks. Like what icecream flavor is my favorite, if I like ketchup better than mustard, if whiskey is better than bourbon, if-â Cutting him off, you sigh.Â
âWhatâs your name?â Six gives the same blank neutral expression, but as if heâs thinking. âUnless.. you donât have one.. but youâve got to right? You werenât born an agent.. were you?â You ramble on, and six eventually lets out a small exhale, tilting his head.Â
âCourt.â He states and you quiet, keeping your eyes on his. Suddenly you smile, then it turns into a grin, and you laugh. He looks confused this time, âwhat?â
âNothing⊠Iâm just.. happy you told me.â A giggle escapes you, and thereâs a swirl of butterflies in your stomach. Court raises a brow and gets back to work, his side gaze lingering on you as you move to put your dishes into the washer.Â
âGoodnight Court,â you sing with a little giggle and wave.Â
âGood night (Y/n).â He says, his focus back on his screen. Yet as you walk away the smile he held within him escapes fully. Â
Throughout the night you found yourself tossing and turning, your head filled with thoughts of six- or Court. The house felt safer with him, you admitted, and on many nights when you were scared, he soothed you to sleep with his presence that you bothered to have near you. Â
âSix?â You call out, making your way out of the bed with your little nightgown on. No answer and your heart leaps up into your throat. He always answered the first time. What if someone actually did intrude and he wasnât there, or worse, he lost? God you were starting to sound like your dad, no way thatâd happen⊠But what if it did?Â
âSix..?â You call out quieter, tiptoeing around the door frames like a scared little child. There were no lights on, and the windows displayed only the inky blackness outside. It mustâve been, what, 2 am? Now you were beginning to get very worried, and your heart began to beat so fast it was drowning out the quietness of your large house.Â
âSix..?â you call out yet again, and no response.Â
When you turn a corner, thereâs the body of an unfamiliar man on the floor which makes you jump back. Your toe pokes at him, and he doesnât move. Your anxiety is now fully spiked, and you rush around the hall to call out for six. You find yet another black outfitted body, blood leaking from their chest onto the floor. Although, you didnât notice that part until you tripped and fell on it. Groaning out in pain, you clutch your head, and call out one last "S-Six!".
Suddenly you hear glass breaking and a silenced gunshot which makes you jump. There's a heavy thud at your feet, itâs the body of another man, and when you look up, itâs Court who stands above you, alive and on his two feet.
He lets out a breath, and you ogle up at him, unsure of what to even say. Court gestures his hand to you and you take it. He instantly pulls you to your feet and you tiptoe silently around the body in front of you. You open your mouth to speak, but his focus zones behind you.
Something is moving in the corner of your sight and you shriek in reflex, instantly rotating to punch the assailant. "Ow!" They hiss in pain and recoil, holding their nose. You stare, wide-eyed, and when the man removes his hand from his face, his eyes narrow onto you. Your heart leaps into your throat, and you contemplate running for a moment but you are more than determined, so you hold up your fist and muster up the same expression.
Suddenly an object flies over your shoulder, it nearly grazes your cheek before it lands deep into the chest of the man who is knocked back. Turning, you see Court who has a serious expression on his face, possibly the most you've ever seen.
You don't have much time to breathe out a word as another man comes behind him. Court rotates just in time and lands a loud sucker punch to the manâs jaw. The attacker stumbles back and gasps, attempting to grab at his pistol that Court more than easily undoes and the magazine falls to the floor. Court lands another hard hit, and you can visibly see the blood that leaks from the attackerâs nose as he repeats, and repeats.. and repeats to the point where you might as well feel guilty for the poor guy.
Cringing, you turn away, and you assume Court is finally finished when he lets out a breath and walks towards you. You study his movements as he nears the man beneath your feet and yanks the blade out from his chest. He takes a rag nearby and begins wiping the blood from it. You notice there is also blood running down his arm and without thinking your hands quickly roam to find the wound.Â
âAre you okay?â There was pure concern in your voice, and he scans you as if deep in thought.Â
He answers after a few seconds, shrugging, âIâm fine, just a little graze.â You frown and he adds, âYou should be sleeping,â breaking you from the focus on his arm.Â
You huff. âWhen did they come in?âÂ
âNow.â Court continues wiping the blade, not even looking at you.Â
âI told you I wouldnât need any help.â Court continues in his monotone voice and youâre breathless in pure astonishment. You wanted to gasp out a âYouâre unbelievable," but in reality, you say what you know annoys him.Â
âBut you might've.â He cracks just the edge of a smile at you.Â
Your knuckles are a bruised red and you can't help but smile as you add, âDid you see the punch I landed? I did more than help, are you kidding?" Court chuckles and god even at a moment like this your heart flutters.Â
"Really? That's weird, I feel like I remember teaching you that punch. When was it..?" He looks to the ceiling as if just struggling to remember, âJust earlier today?" You were stuck in your smile, and your head tilts like a lovesick puppy, eyes glued to his. He gives you a sweet smile, then examines your dress which now has a puddle of red in it from when you tripped.Â
âYou should go change.â He comments as if trying to shift the moment, and you hum, looking down at the bodies on the floor. Itâs not like this is the first time youâve seen this, considering the line of work your father was in, but the shake of six possibly getting hurt, or that they were coming for you upset you more than anything.Â
âI couldnât go to sleep.â You now change the subject, looking up at him. He doesnât respond, so you touch his hand and gently grab the knife that he was working at and place it on the counter. âDo you ever sleep?âÂ
âRarely. I canât really afford to, considering,â he gestures to the bodies, âsomeone might break in.âÂ
âWhat if I stand watch, and you sleep?â You offer, and he laughs for a bit. When he notices youâre serious, he gives you a look as if you just said something ridiculous. He scoffs and you pout.
He shakes his head, âThatâs not your job.â
âNo, itâs not. But my job as a host should be to make you feel comfortable and well-rested in my home.â You tilt your head, giving the best puppy eyes you could muster.Â
âInteresting character development.â He jokes and you pout.Â
âCome on, please? Starting tomorrow, you can take the best nap of your life.â You hold his hands that were once cleaning the knife and squeeze gently. Blue meets (e/c), and for a quiet long moment, it remains that way. Six doesnât say anything, he just stares, and you do the same. Eventually, he decides to speak.
âI should probably clean this up.â You look around and take a step back forgetting to remember youâre an inch away from a pile of blood.Â
âOh.. right.. yeah.â You trail off, giving him one last look as he does to you, before you nod, and walk off.Â
âGood night (Y/n),â he says and you turn back and smile.Â
 âGood night Court.âÂ
The closer you got to the time of your dad coming back from his trip, the more a big twinge of disappointment would hit you. It was almost 2 weeks left now, and you felt a sadness thinking of it. It would mean no more Court, and he would go on his way to other missions, or worse, even become a bodyguard to some other girl whoâs conveniently all alone in a big house.Â
âAre you okay?â Asked Court who was, as usual, typing on his computer while you ate.Â
âYeah.â Responding, you stab sadly at your eggs and let out a sigh. He wouldnât like you anyway, not with how bad you treated him the first few days. There was no way.
Maybe it was a good thing he was leaving soon, so you could just be on your way and stop being so lovesick. Sooner or later another guard will come and youâll go back to making their life a nightmare.Â
Court stares at you from the sides of his eyes, and hums. âIâve been with you long enough now to know whatâs wrong, so tell me.â He pushes his computer out of the way and directs his focus onto you. âWhatâs on your mind?â
Your lips purse, and for a moment you think of lying or not telling him anything, but you finally decide, that if he wasnât going to be here after these 2 weeks anyway, then what was the point of keeping it to yourself?Â
âIâm just.. disappointed youâll leave soon.â Court tilts his head, probably not even sure how to respond to that.Â
âYouâre the only guard Iâve liked. So far Iâve made all of them quit, or even want to kill me themselves. My dad probably expects that youâre already gone or wanting to blow your own brains out by now. But⊠youâre here.â Awkwardly you finish your statement, refusing to stare at him in the eyes.. until finally you do. He gives you this questionable expression, and truthfully all of his emotions have been at least a tiny bit readable, but right now, youâre truly unsure of what heâs thinking. All you seem to notice is a glimmer in his eyes, maybe something sad, happy, mad, you really couldnât tell.Â
âYes.. I am.â He trails off like he wants to say more.Â
âWhy?âÂ
Court shakes his head for a moment and glances down, then he shrugs. âItâs my job.â Exhaling, you push yourself back into your seat.Â
Thinking of what to say and biting back a disappointment, you muster out a painstaking gratitude. âWell⊠I thank you for doing your job. In 2 weeks, you wonât see me again, and Iâll be back to making someone elseâs job here hell. So.. youâre almost free.â You joke, but in a way that hurts you. A small fake smile is all the reaction you want to give, but the humor that makes its way to your words is almost nonexistent.Â
Thereâs a harsh jab that hits your heart that youâre attempting to push down. You knew he wouldnât like you, itâs outlandish, but still, the tears that force their way to your eyes made it hard to show no emotion. Court sees it, and his attempted stoic gaze remains on you, but you can see heâs feeling emotions heâs unsure of, or like heâs thinking hard. His mouth opens to speak after a few seconds but you donât want to hear it, not the words that youâve been dreading, not the confirmation thatâll break your heart. Â
âIâm going to shower.â
He nods, and you purse your lips, turning away from him. Once you are sure he couldnât see you, a few tears fall to your cheeks.Â
You put your hair up in a clip and decide to give yourself a nice bath instead. Undressing yourself, you lock the door to the bathroom and turn on the faucet, adding in a scent of your favorite soap. The bubbles rise to the top, and you watch, spacing out as you wait for the water to fill the spacious tub. Once itâs done you dip your legs in one by one and slowly sink yourself in, enjoying how the hot water settles your nerves. Once Court is gone, youâll go back to normal, surely. Your eyes close and you let out a relaxed exhale.
You mustâve stayed there for longer than you thought, because there was a knocking at the door, and you mumble unintelligibly to yourself, rubbing your eyes awake. Muttering tiredly, you ask, âYeah..?â
âItâs been a few hours. Are you good in there?â Court calls out, a slight worry in his tone.Â
Humming lazily, you draw yourself out of the bath and swing a robe on, your hair partially wet in its bun. âSorry, I.. mustâve passed out.â You nearly whisper, opening the door to see Courtâs face. He nods, and you both share a longing gaze.Â
âRight um⊠Iâm going to get changed.â You cut off the awkward moment, walking off before he could see the light blush that dusts your cheeks. The way your heart beats, betrays the nonchalant thoughts of him leaving and reminds you painfully of the attachment you have. Once again, the idea of him vanishing right when your father arrives causes a pure sinking pain in your heart.Â
You throw on whateverâs comfortable and let out a sigh. Grabbing your hairbrush you tiredly begin brushing your hair while a sad pout glues to down turn your lips.
A knock on your door alerts you. Courts at the doorframe, his hands folded over one another, his blue orbs holding a certain sweetness when he views your form.Â
Nervously finding yourself caught in his gaze again, you pull away clearing your throat. âHiâŠâÂ
âHi.â He responds, remaining still. Itâs another awkward moment as you slowly brush your hair.
Court suddenly starts, âIâm not going to leave.â You stop, your attention shifting to him. He adverts his eyes for a moment and shuffles his legs, then focuses back.
He speaks with his usual neutral tone, but thereâs a slight mix of something unreadable in there. Your attention is now stuck on him and every word he has to say.
âAs tempting as it is to no longer have to hear about.. chocolate being better than vanilla,â you both share a small chuckle, âI donât want to be âfreeâ from you.â Court peers longingly, and youâre not sure what to say, youâre barely even blinking, your heart is leaping into your throat and you swallow roughly. Youâre unsure of what exactly he means by this.
Court continues. âThe only way Iâll leave is if you want me to leave,â he pauses, âDo you want me to leave?âÂ
âNo,â you whisper, eyes glued to his.Â
He walks towards you, slowly and steadily. âThen I wonât leave..â Court trails off, and you avert your attention.Â
âWhat about when itâs no longer your job?â He takes a seat beside you and uses his thumb and index to hold your chin gently, making you gaze back into him.Â
âItâll always be my job.â He practically whispers.Â
You scoff, âTo be my bodyguard?âÂ
âNo, to protect you,â He says surely, and your cheeks instantly turn a soft pink.Â
This time you mumble back, a small frown on your features. âEven when you have to leave?âÂ
âEven when I have to. But that doesnât mean Iâll be gone forever.â
Your eyes keep staring directly into his blue orbs, and you arenât sure if it was his face that got closer, or yours, but eventually, your lips touch, and your lids close peacefully. He tasted sweet and was softer than youâd imagine. Upon separation, your gazes remain fixated on one another, and a genuine smile tugs at both your lips.Â
You speak without thinking, âI like you. You know that?â Court hums, breaking out into a laugh. His lips spread wide into a grin, and your heart skips just a little beat.Â
âJust like?â This time you chuckle.Â
You bite your lip and coyly tilt your head. âYou gotta earn that second part.âÂ
âAnd how do I do that?â Court asks, his voice soft. His fingers dance over your cheek, and you go weak at just the idea of his face so close to yours that you almost canât even respond. Heâs returned your feelings, and this makes you ecstatic. Your breath hitches when he leans in and plants a kiss on your lips.Â
âJust like that?â He asks, smug, and you nod, breathless, moving to touch his dark blonde beard that frames his features so well.Â
âJust like that,â you whisper, and he smiles, moving in to kiss you again. Â

(to clear up misunderstandings, this is a reading on what in another person could turn the members on and off. i realized my wording might cause confusion, sorry about that)
stray kids' turn on's and turn off's
based on tarot. i do not know these idols personally. energies are always changing. what i say is NOT straight fact. pls take it with a grain of salt!
bang chan
turn on's > charming and eloquent (someone who's a very good speaker and communicator) > tactful and strategic -> isn't too overwhelming in their approach and acts carefully > unique looking -> stands out among other people > foreigners or people with a completely different background > knows the value of hard work > courageous and outspoken about things they believe in > has an immense amount of passion for something -> borders on obsession (he needs someone extremely invested in what they do, otherwise they wouldn't understand his lifestyle) > also, obsessed and clingy with him (he likes feeling needed and the thought of being the only person they see)
turn off's > way too selfish and greedy, no consideration for people in need of help > keeps being negative and dwelling on the past > lets go of things/people too easily -> gets discouraged fast > gets scared of the real world and escapes every challenge or obstacle in life > tactless communication -> says wrong thing at the wrong time, doesn't know how to articulate themselves smartly and adjust their words to the situation > takes everything personally and gets defensive fast
lee know
turn on's > laidback and calm energy > isn't extremely competitive and doesn't get greedy over useless things -> knows when to give in > ideally non-famous and ordinary people (he likes the thought of his partner providing him with some normalcy) > very observant and notices small details about you > knows when to let go and doesn't cling onto things (like someone who knows things come and go and is accepting towards the harsh realities of life) > isn't interested in gossiping, stays away from childish drama
turn off's > plays useless games with you (like playing hard to get) > is too delusional and unrealistic > keeps whining and crying over how awful their life is (lmao i can see him being taken aback and thinking âam i your babysitterâ) > unreliable and doesn't keep their promise (someone who tells you they'll do one thing and end up doing another) > unwilling to acknowledge and work on their toxic habits (he just hates pretentious people who act all smug when they're not, he thinks it's very cringy because he can see through it)
changbin
turn on's > humble and grounded > a lot of potential and enthusiasm for something (he likes it when someone has motivation and goals, he wants to help them reach whatever they aspire to be) > has love for everyone and spreads kindness -> goes through life non-prejudiced (he likes pure people) > thinks and acts with and from their heart > considerate of people's needs -> doesn't put themselves above anyone and knows how to be happy for others > doesn't rush into things and approaches everything with patience (someone who thinks before acting) > responsible and takes care of the people they cherish
turn off's > lazy and doesn't set themselves up to any standards (just goes through life without any goals or ambition) > doesn't take life seriously, makes inappropriate jokes > is unnecessarily strict in how they treat others (he thinks why be hurtful if you can get the point across in a considerate manner) > doesn't know how to have empathy for people > very egocentric > moves on too quickly (it'll make him wonder like damn did i even mean anything to you if you're already over me)
hyunjin
turn on's > guarded, careful who they get close to (doesn't share their business with everyone) > deeply empathetic and caring nature, good listener (i can tell he finds beautiful and calming voices attractive) > fiercely loyal and committed to the people they love (he gets insecure about not being enough for his partners, so he needs the guarantee that you won't leave) > very determined and driven to fulfil their desires (is very eager and direct in their pursuit, he likes feeling like you're obsessed with him) > capable of carrying responsibilities and burdens on their shoulders -> doesn't get tired quickly, makes it look easy > helps him understand himself better (he wants someone who can make him feel confident & comfortable in his skin)
turn off's > doesn't understand the weight of deep connections -> gets close to many people (can make him feel like he isn't special) > hides and runs away from their emotions > holds endless grudges and never lets go of past occurrences > doesn't have an opinion of their own, just follows the crowd > keeps being dissatisfied, complaining and nagging at him (this would make him very self-conscious, he wants someone who's accepting of his imperfections) > dependent on others to help them -> doesn't know how to heal themselves and self-sabotages
(tbh, i can feel that hj wants someone who fills all his weak spots, because if he was with someone too similar to him, he feels like that'd be a recipe for disaster)
felix
turn on's > cheerful and full of energy, ability to light up the room > self assured and confident > very protective and willing to do anything to defend their loved ones (wants someone more direct and unafraid than him, he's too much of a people-pleaser) > carries a lot of inner wisdom and always has good advice > self-aware and reflective of their own actions and words > very different to him (whether that's in looks, personality, mindset. he gets intrigued) > a lot of inner strength and resilience -> doesn't falter easily > plus physical strength as well > puts plenty of thought into their relationships and feels the need to look after their loved ones, worries about him (he wants to feel safe and taken care of)

turn off's > is too possessive and clingy -> doesn't give him space > makes him feel incapable or inadequate (triggers his insecurities and his self-doubt) > acts like they're his parent (lol like someone who babys him too much and doesn't acknowledge he is a grown man) > gets too controlling and acts like they have a say in his life > is too strict and direct with him (he needs some sugarcoating sometimes) > too materialistic and focused on superficial matters (like looks, money, fame etc.) > is very hot and cold -> makes him believe one thing and then says something else, keeps him on his toes too much > is too conservative and stuck in the way they see things -> not open and understanding of different perspectives
seungmin

turn off's > keeps themselves trapped in their own delusions and refuses to open their eyes to reality > spoiled, takes precious things and people for granted > too attached and obsessed about materials or money -> doesn't know how to appreciate what they have (especially family, he definitely wants someone devoted to their home) > thinks they're levels above everyone and acts entitled > has something negative to say about everyone and is too judgemental > too antisocial and boring
jeongin
turn on's > free-spirited and fun to be around > has an optimistic outlook on life and doesn't always take it too seriously (i can tell he really likes someone with a great sense of humor who can make him laugh) > observant and curious about him as a person > makes him feel confident and special (a lot of compliments) > natural charisma and strong presence (main character energy, attracts gazes wherever they go) > but! okay with making themselves smaller and stepping back for him to shine and be the main character (lmao like telling him he's so much better than them etc.) > isn't afraid of arguments -> fearless and headstrong (he doesn't like scaredy cats)
turn off's > too prideful and ego-centric > overly serious and uptight all the time -> boring and doesn't know how to take a joke (like buzzkills, someone who keeps ruining the fun) > too focused on marriage and the longterm (he just wants someone to have fun with and see what comes out of it, he doesn't consider marriage right away) > surrenders and gives in too easily -> doesn't put up a fight > too obsessed about their own career and overly focused on remaining stable (cheap and boring people)

ASTRO OBSERVATIONS II
So you've seemed to really enjoy my astro oberservations, so today I'm going to do some more! I hope you enjoy and if there's any questions, feel free to ask.
đ§5th house stellium
I've noticed these natives don't like to change their routine for anybody. They can come off a little bit selfish because of it. They also like to tell everyone everything about themselves. If they've finished any college, o you will know. There also really into working out, looking good, smelling fresh and love to be noticed, but don't like saying that. They are also very curious about things only they like, if they think what you're talking about is boring to them, they will let you know.
đ§ Aphrodite and Saturn in the 1st house
This can be a very complicated placement. In one way the native is considered a beautiful individual, but they themselves cannot see it that way. The glowup will come later in life and the native will have some complications with their skin, weight etc. But it will pass!
đ§ Mercury in Aquarius
These people are known to be book worms and love to learn, constitley. But they do have this tick about them where they always think they know the best.
đ§ Gemini Moon
They're so fucking funny without even trying, I swear. If you ever want to hear something chaotic, call a Gemini moon. They are the feral club rats and can befriend anyone. But at the same time they maybe have 1 or 2 people they really open up to and tell them how they really feel. I feel like they can be even more detached than Libra and Aquarius moons. They can also be prone to sleeping with someone and than regreating it the next day.
đ§Pluto in the 4th house
This can mean a very turbulent family life. A very love-hate relationship with their mother. They maybe didn't grow up with the mother and than reconnected with her later in life. The mother can become very ill later down the line and it falls on their lap, making them have a symbiotic house life. The native takes cares and adores the mother, but the mother also becomes a burden to deal with. These people also have a very strict way at looking at family life, children. They don't relate to people wanting a white picked fance and 4 kids running around the yard. Try to understand these people, they really have a soft spot. .but don't be too aggressive with your questions.
đ§Earth Venuses
I think what they all have in common is they're really big pleasers in the bedroom. Quite dominant and right to the point. The guy earth Venuses love to be small spoons when cuddling, but will never ever admit it! The girls are really big sweethearts in private, but seem really cold and profesional outside the house.
đ§12 house stellium
I've never met a 12th house stellium person who wasn't the sweetest person ever. They are so down to earth and try to understand all. They are the shoulder to cry on, for sure.
đ§ North node in Leo
They love tattoos, standing out, having piercings, having some bold jewelry piece. Having some sort of style everybody wants, but can't recreate. But they deal with some much self doubt at the beginning of their journey. Since their South node is in Aquarius, they are prone to go back to their humanitarian ways, people pleasing etc. It's also tough in relationships, since they feel the need for independence and shinning on their own, but also want to understand their partner and help them. I would recommend them to shift your priorities to bettering yourself, career etc, not other people. It's your time to shine and you deserve it, more than anything!
đ§ 6 house stellium
They are prone to join the army and actually are really good at it. I mean this this is house of routines and discipline after all.
đ§Sagittarius Moon
These people are something, let me tell you that. A Sag Moon is prone to work in other cities or countries. Their mind is very sharp and clean about what they want. I've noticed they can be big loners in their free time. Like they live to be the head of the party, cracking jokes and doing their thing, but in their house they are very reserved and quite. They need to recharge for the day, that's for sure.
đ§ Air- Water dominant people
This is very confusing to the native. I mean on one side we have a emotional and semi psychic sign and on the other a rational and mental sign. These people are prone to heavy changing over the years, really stepping into their personality can be difficult and always altered by surroundings and people. They are a little bit bipolar also. Some days they'll want to speak with everybody and party their butt off, the next they want peace and quietness. Sometimes they want to travel the world and others they never want to leave their home. It depends on the day, I guess..

masterlist
You âmetâ Bi Han before things got all-around bad for everyone. Though Vaeternus has their own realm to live, itâs known that there is not enough supply to feed your kindsâ severe population problem. You havenât been there in years, even before the coven decided to scour the realms for foodâyou were always ten steps ahead. You descended upon the Lin Kuei, and thatâs when you met Bi Han.
Initially, you and Bi Han had a deal. You wanted to feed, and Bi Han wanted to keep you from eating up his initiates. Obviously, Liu Kang left this decision up to him, who was determined to make a pawn out of youâheâd let you feed from him if you didnât drain his ninja and you ran errands for the Lin Kuei. Somewhere down the line heâd become selfish of you⊠You noticed that when he begins to note when you hadnât bitten him in a while, as if heâs expecting you or keeping track of your eating habits, and you mention that youâd eaten already (who fed you?).
With Bi Han, thereâs no promises that he can keep his temper in check. Thereâs so many things that upset him; so many things that are on thin ice that one should not hope to fall through. Bi Hanâs blood becomes chilled by the cryomancy running through his veins, and, as you guess, can make him a meal akin to gallons of ice cream. Brain freeze happens so easily with him and you have to remind him to chill out.
Once you and Bi Han make it official, he wants you to only feed on him. Perhaps itâs a human thing, but thereâs just something intimate about feeding from someone else that a man like Bi Han does not enjoy. He knows youâre loyal and would never do anything to upset him on purpose because youâre just having a meal, but you seeking out someone else to eat from makes it seem like heâs inadequate when heâs far from. In order to make this a reality, Bi Han suggests you just live with him early on.
An unlikely pair Bi Han makes with you, by all accounts. You were the one to suggest the relationship, but that didnât mean Bi Han didnât dwell on the thought of having you in his bed. The deal you both struck up was a mere hollow hideaway for his true feelings for youâdespite you unable to walk out into the sun, needing to feed on blood and everything that makes you a vampire, you were strong and powerful, and Bi Han liked that. Sure, maybe he likes a submissive partner who does what theyâre told, but heâd be lying if he said he wanted a total helpless do-nothing who couldnât protect themselves if his enemies find out who he keeps close.
âËâčê·
For the last time, you thank the nurse. Your wings tense at the simple brush of your own fingers against the bandage of your wrist. Youâd sprain it on a solo mission and though you would be fine, you let out a little sigh. Thisâll be annoying.
You hear the nurse mutter and step aside on the way out. You look up.
The nurse gone, Bi Han is already shutting the door behind him. His brown eyes donât look at you, but your wristâand his face paints itself a small frown.
âI did it,â you follow his gaze down to the injury. âYou wanted to send a message, right? He wonât be bothering the Lin Kuei for a while.â
âThank you. You did well,â was all Bi Han said in return. It didnât even sound thankful but you knew he meant it; he couldnât seem to stop thinking about something. The grandmaster stops close to you, close enough that he could touch you without strain.
You watch with warm eyes Bi Han inspect the injury.
âIf youâre thinking what I think you are, no⊠Wu Lae couldnât have laid a paw on me,â you explained in him even though he hadnât asked. âJust did not quite stick the landing coming back.â
His frame visibly relaxes, and heâs so close to you that you can faintly feel him exhale through his nose.
âAnyway, I had plans to eat when I came back but you look tired,â you rasp, hands coming to massage Bi Hanâs arms. You could feel satisfied by just the juicy feel of it, the blood, but you know better.
âIâm not,â
âYou are,â
âEat from me,â he interrupted you into silence, a silence which you honored to hear him. âWeâve been over this. There is no excuse, no reason for you to go looking when Iâm right here.â
It took a moment of staring between you two to finally give in. You guide Bi Hanâs arms around you and your legs around him, and his breath hitches when you keel him over.
âFine. But donât complain when you wake up with a sore body.â
âââ
Bi Han likes to read you by the way your wings move.
Thanks to Nitara, you and Kuai Liang met. Itâs unclear whether or not you two would have even had the chance to meet if she werenât trying to attack Kuai Liang and his brothers. Youâd spotted them long before she was sent by Shang Tsung and his backers, and you were quick to place your dibs. So when she swooped in despite your claim to the food, of course you saved him. It was a short conversation of gratitude and greeting, but the spark of a flame nonetheless.
After watching Bi Hanâs betrayal from afar, you couldnât bear to keep hunting Kuai Liang. You were a vampire, not morally depravedâbut now you didnât know what to do. With your hunger growing and the inability to find sufficient meals to get by running from you, you eventually became weak. Youâd only think to go to the very new Shirai Ryu and collapse on their doorstep in a silent plea for mercy. Kuai Liang, the man he is, âsacrificedâ himself for you to eat; it was the least he could do after you saved him. He and you formed an attachment this way when he let you keep coming back.
Inadvertently, you teach Kuai Liang to control flares in his temper. Whenever he gets angry or upset, it sounds comical but his blood quite literally boils; his blood takes a while to cool, and youâll burn yourself if you donât take caution. Whenever he wants to get angry at something/someone, he thinks of what thatâd mean for you. Kuai Liang is almost too mindful of you when it comes to not just his emotions⊠A lot of his thoughts are about you. The bond youâve formed with him turned soon into a relationship, and you both hit it off.
While Kuai Liang sleeps at night, you donât. Because Vaeternians canât necessarily see the sun (lest they want to die), it only makes sense that your kind is most active on cloudy days and nights. For a while you have to reassure him that youâre fine alone while you hunt; heâs not really the type to get jealous if you find someone else to eat from, because itâs food. However, he subtly suggests that if youâre unsuccessful or unsatisfied, you can come back to him. You remind him heâs your boyfriend. Youâd hope so.
Kuai Liang installs blackout curtains in his room when or if you move in. For obvious reasons. He sacrifices getting up on time for a long while and becomes reliant on you to wake him up.
âËâčê·
You land, beating your wings twice to stabilize you on the grounds of the Shirai Ryu. The sky had turned a deep blue hue to reflect the sun rising east. You fold the wings inwards as you retreat just in time to hide away until nightfall again.
Were you sated tonight? Better than yesterday. But all of that adrenaline wanes when you step foot inside.
Youâd fully expect to see Kuai Liang greet you, as heâd usually doâwhen itâs time to get up and work overlaps when youâre worked out and tiredâbut itâs quiet. Not eerily so, though. You continue to move silently until you find your shared space.
There, in bed, Kuai Liang hugs tightly a pillow.
Itâs so pitch black in here and heâs still so sound asleep that you donât think he realizes thatâs not you. Lucky for him, he needs no longer a substitute. You change into more comfortable clothes than the ones you discard to the side.
Kuai Liang stirs when you slip into bed.
âGood morning,â you quietly singsong, and the sound of your voice has him abandoning the pillow with the quicknessâtired eyes search the dark while hands feel for you, to which you humor. Kuai Liang forces you to bunch your wings impossibly further as he pulls you into him.
You shudder at the heat he radiates. âSo warmâŠâ
âI dreamt of you, thatâs why,â Kuai Liang groggily jokes, burying his face into your collarbone where he sears kisses. âHow was it?â
âEnough for now,â you answered, tangling your legs in his to plant yourself further in his embrace. âAnd I think I know how well you slept, soâhaâthereâs that. Now itâs my turn.â
You feel Kuai Liang frown on your neck. Heâs been needy lately and wants to stay and cuddle you away the whole day, but he canât just leave things to poor Tomas. Itâs not fair.
âSorry, flames,â you frown yourself, apologizing for something not your fault. âDonât rush to get things done, either. Iâll probably be staying tonight.â
âDid something happen?â Kuai Liang looks at you from where he is with light concern.
You deny. âJust want you.â
âââ
Kuai Liang wants you to wrap your wings around him more often.
