You search the Stella Goetia tag for hate about her and to hate on her.
I search the Stella Goetia tag because I think she's pretty and could have been developed as a villain and a character much better.

There seems to be this misunderstanding on whether Stolas is a good father or not and how his love towards Octavia proves he can't be a bad father.
But the truth is that Stolas is a bad father, and no amount of love he has towards Octavia removes the fact he failed her as a father.
If Stolas was a good father, he would have attempted to keep information about his affair and his affair partner behind closed doors where Octavia wouldn't have to witness that until he was able to calmly discuss it with her first.
He defiantly shouldn't have not only tried to dirty talk said affair partner over the phone while she was sitting in the room nor invited that partner on a trip meant for him and his daughter.
When it came down to divorcing her mother, Stolas should have sat down with Octavia and talked to her about what was going on. This is especially true is Stella was as abusive to him as the narrative suggests as this could risk his young daughter being left with an abusive woman without him to step in.
Lastly, Stolas shouldn't have turned his entire life into chasing after Blitz once Stella left as if he doesn't have a daughter still living with him. Yes, life after divorce can be freeing and reopens a lot of doors, but he is a parent first and foremost to a child who just had her family torn apart. As her father, Stolas owes her to be by her side and support her through this at least in minor way.
At the end of the day, it doesn't matter how much Stolas says he loves Octavia or how much the narrative says he does. Loving your child is only half the part of being a good father. The rest of the work comes in actively caring for and assuring said child is happy and healthy, and that's where Stolas fails.
Stolas can love Octavia as much as he wants, but that love doesn't free him from the poor and selfish choices he's made against her well being time and time again.

To double back to my commentary on the "heaven is actually evil" plotline in HH and HB, we still have no clue as to why Heaven is evil and what drives that evil.
Sure, one could say it is due to the moral code the angels (not God) made is causing this, but what are those codes and laws of conduct? What makes a sinner be considered a sinner? These questions seem small but they are the backbone of the show and we are one season in with no answer in sight.
I know some of you are already thinking that these laws/ ideals of Heaven could be inspired by the ten commandments or common Christian views, but I don't think that's true.
Yes, the show is openly influenced by the Bible and according to Viv is supposed to be a critique of Christianity. However, Viv and her writers pick and choose what things they include from this religion, tossing sometimes important pieces of it into the trash cause it doesn't fit their "plot".
Besides this making it near impossible to call HH a critique of Christianity, these massive removals of information make it unreliable for the audience to use the Bible as a reference point for the world building in regards to Heaven.
When looking at Viv basing the laws of Heaven off of extremist views of Christianity, we can't say this is right or likely either because again, Viv has made no move to allude or even show us what specific views Heaven has. The audience is back to picking at pieces of HH and HB lore and sticking it together in a vain attempt to get a understandable world.
In fan fiction and similar fan works, there is no problem with using the Bible or their experiences with conservative Christian talking points to cover the plot holes HH leaves behind, but as a real production, Viv cannot rely on that simply because she doesn't want to do the work to answer those question. Its not only unprofessional and dismissive of her own work, but its insulting to her audience to not give them answers to critical world building aspects.
As I end this rant or whatever it can be considered, I want to make it clear that I'm not expecting her Heaven world building to be a critique equal to Martin Luther's 95 theses nor for her to try and combine every piece of commentary on Christianity/ the Bible into one show. That would be impossible even for a qualified writer.
What I do at least expect from Viv if she cares about her story at all is to at least try to tackle one or two major criticisms from either area of Christianity and use that to form her idea of Heaven and angels. She doesn't even need to get it 100% right; she just needs to show honest effort at story telling, something I haven't seen in any of her works even up to now.
Without this solid understanding of her own heaven, everything falls apart because why should the audience care about Heaven keeping sinners out and what Heaven has done to sinners when Heaven doesn't even have a reason for it outside of the creator wanting it to happen?

Vivziepop and Queer Rep
As we all know, many fans and media reps alike have commented on the apparent "queer rep" seen in both Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel with many sighting their MLM relationships and use of Sallie May as proof of Vivzie's dedication to queer rep. Yet for how much this idea is spouted across social media, I cannot say that Viv truly cares about Queer Representation in her shows. The apex of this disagreement comes from phrase that man people seem to not remember when it comes down to queer rep: Representation for one is not Representation for all.
In her hyperfocus on thin, cis mlm relationships, Vivzie creates rep for only those relationships, leaving behind countless other queer identities and relationships that also heavily need queer rep. The largest dismissal of queer individuals/relationships in HH or HB appears in characters that fall into one of three categories, The Fat, Sapphic, and The Nonbinary.
The Fat
When some of you look at this, you may be confused as to what fatness has to do with queer rep, I would tell you that it has a lot to do with it. Fat people are not inherently removed from queerness and have been there since the beginning, the creation of the term Bear is proof of that. This is the first strike on HH and HB's records.
As many other creators have thoroughly pointed out, fat representation is abysmal in both HH and HB with either shows either lacking fat rep completely or having fat characters made using more fatphobic stereotypes than I could count. With this poor managing of fat representation, its no surprise that Vivzie pop ignores all possible avenues of queer rep with fat people involved. This also impacts her presentation of mlm ships with all those in these ships only appear as thin cis men, not a single bear or trans man in sight.
The Sapphic
The second largest and arguably most obvious strike against Viv comes in her disturbing lack of sapphic relationships in both shows. While HH has at least one sapphic ship (Charlie and Vaggie), HH has none to speak of. As a result, Viv's ratio of Sapphic to Achillean relationships is heavily one-sided.
It shouldn't take me having to say this for many of you to realize that you cannot claim to have true or complete queer representation when you ignore a whole side of the queer community. While this issue in sapphic relationships likely tied to Vivzie's smaller amount of women in her stories, this does not excuse it. Having one or two of these secondary characters be in a sapphic relationship (especially Sallie May) be shown or even mentioned in passing (not random background shoots) has having a girlfriend would fix this issue, but we cannot even get that.
The Nonbinary
The final strike against Vivzie's queer rep comes in both shows ignoring the existence of nonbinary characters as a whole. While we get some presentation for the binary trans community (even though most are background characters never seen again besides Sallie May), we have yet to see a single nonbinary character in either show's canon.
This is honestly fucking ridiculous. To ignore an entire gender identity because its easier or you simply don't want to is ridiculous and should strip any claimed queer rep media from their title. Nonbinary people have always existed throughout time in different countries and cultures. To think that they're wouldn't be a single nonbinary sinner or demon in hell after all this time does not make sense.
Trans people on the binary and nonbinary side have the right to representation equally, and even if we were to ignore the concerns about Viv's current trans rep, trans people deserve more rep than random background characters and a one dimensional trans woman.
The Finale
As I end this essay, I do want to say that I wanted to discuss HH and HB's treatment and ignorance of asexuality and aromanticism as they are both highly relevant to the discussion. However, I need to do more digging on Alastor and his ace situation first before I do so in order to prevent spreading misinformation.
But even without this section, I still stand on my belief that neither of Viv's shows should be paraded around as good queer media or as truly supporting queer rep. While HH has a little more leeway with Viv's only sapphic ship, HH and HB still ignore large sections of the queer community. It feels more like Viv is picking at the parts of the community she likes more, grabbing at the more marketable identities and appearances until she has enough to call her show queer.
I hope one day Viv will listen to her fans and critiques about this lack of other queer identities but I will not hold my breath. All that is left to say is that queer people deserve better especially in adult shows and in animation. Picking and choose what queer people you include in your media simply because you like one more is the farthest thing from queer rep.

To start this lovely commentary, I will place my cards out in the open:
Blitzo is not the villain in his and Stolas' relationship nor is Stolas the victim in this realtionship either.
To some, this statement is a recognizable fact, one the canon caste system even supports. However, many of the current fanbase seems to disagree with this idea, comparing Blitzo to abusive characters like Stella, Crimson, and even Mammon. Others even put him on the same level as those previous characters. Besides this being one of the greater leaps of logic I've seen come out of this fandom, it is simply not true.
Yes, Blitzo does not treat Stolas kindly outside of their sexual agreement with Blitzo appearing to outright ignore him most of the time if not purposefully avoiding him. However, notice the wording I used there: sexual agreement.
Stolas and Blitzo have never been in an official romantic relationship and their current agreement is not one Blitzo entered in on equal footing with Stolas nor out of affection for him. Blitzo agreed to be with Stolas as a means of survival for his business, somethings that is extremely rare for imps to have due to their caste position.
Time and time again we are poorly shown that a rather strict caste system does exist in hell. This means that relationships with people in different castes carry different problems and consequences for those involved.
For those in higher ranking castes in a high-lower rank relationship, the worst outcome of being with a lower ranking demon appears as a diminished social standing and lack of respect, but the lower ranking partner doesn't get that. For the lower ranking demon of the relationship, they risk dehumanization by their partner with them loosing all autonomy and independence. They are no longer themselves; they become an extension of their higher ranking partner, an object that can be tossed away if the partner
Blitzo, who was raised in this system and still suffers under it, is right to fear stepping into a relationship with Stolas, and he has more than a right to refuse to be kind and gentle to a being that is literally hanging his livelihood over his head for sexual favors.
It does not matter if Stolas truly cares about him or not. Their relationship from Day 1 was not something Blitzo could walk away freely from nor even wanted to be in. In physical, social, and economical might, Stolas holds all the cards in their relationship, and nothing Blitzo can do can change that. Stolas could kill Blitzo and no one would turn an eye because he is an imp and Stolas is a Prince.
As a result, Blitzo has no obligation to be kind to someone who is a high ranking member in the system that views him as equal to dirt nor can Stolas be upset about Blitzo doing such when their relationship was born from Stolas taking advantage of Blitzo in a vulnerable situation.
Stolas is no victim here, and if Viv had researched caste systems, the true victim of the relationship would be clearer: Blitzo.
Because at the end of the day, Blitzo remains under Stolas' thumb, an unwilling subject to whatever tasks or desires Stolas forces on him. That is all the caste system of hell allows him to be.

Vivziepop finds MxM relationships more arousing than WxW ones, which is why she has multiple queer male characters and relationships, most of which are heavily sexual and the center of attention in both Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss. Few female characters are queer, with the rest being straight or unknown. Most sapphic relationships only exist in the background.
Out of two shows, the only main sapphic relationship is Chaggie, which is nonsexual. Charlie and Vaggie share little physical intimacy, donโ€™t speak about sex or express sexual attraction to each other. This wouldnโ€™t be an issue if it werenโ€™t for the fact that Huskerdust, Stolitz, and Fizzmodeus, all of which are MxM ships, got to be sexual while Chaggie, a WxW ship, is forbidden from being so.ย
Angel, Stolas, and Fizzarolli are free to be sexual and express their horniness for their love interests, but Charlie and Vaggie canโ€™t do even a fraction of this because Vivziepop doesnโ€™t find it โ€œhotโ€ when women do it.
Only male characters can be horny and have sexual relationships because it turns her on. Thereโ€™s no doubt that if Vivziepop found WxW as arousing as MxM, then she wouldโ€™ve flooded both of her shows with it.ย

I think I was not clear enough in my first post, so let me clarify my main point here: Vivzie should have never focused on redemption in this story because Hell has never ever been about redemption nor are her characters people who want redemption or to go to heaven.
Her focus should have solely remained on the Extermination, never straying into redemption because not only does the setting not make since for that but it's just stupid to have when all of your characters are beyond that point/lack any remorse for the sins that got them to hell in the first place.
While there is still so many holes in the Extermination plot, it is a much better focus for the characters Vivzie has. Removing this idea of redemption that Charlie is so focused on (even though there has never been proof that Vivzie's meant for her hell to be like purgatory at all) would have made Charlie a better character and would have made her attempts towards protecting sinners feel more genuine and not oblivious.
It also would have allowed for Viv to actually make complex villains who have complex reasoning for what they've done instead of her taking her normal route of "we know this guy is evil cause he makes bigoted comments all the time and is mean for no reason"
Someone needs to say it: The "Heaven is actually bad" plot line that Hazbin is based around is useless when you spend more then 2 minutes thinking about Vivzie's Hell and her characters.
Besides it being much too early for this idea, the revelation that Heaven or at least the beings running it aren't good people has little to no impact when the people who are being harmed by this are all horrible people. Stay with me here. None of these people are people who were unfairly brought into hell and we are never ever introduced to someone who was either. Why should we care that Heaven is "evil" and blocking redemption when all the sinners in hell we see are the worst of the worst who would have never gotten in even if it was fair.
For the "Heaven is bad" plot line to actually work, you need people who were just one sin away from Heaven, who would've gotten into Heaven if circumstance hadn't forced them down a path that stole it from them. You need characters who aren't comedic villains but land in the middle of morally grey. Those who deserved to be in Heaven but because Heaven refused to consider their circumstances, they were tossed to burn with people much worse than them. Those are the people who should be your main cast cause those are the people who would actually be impacted by Heaven being bad/ Heaven lying.
Angel dust, for all his trauma, was still part of the mafia and likely had killed people before (showing to almost take joy in it). Husk became an overlord and gambled souls, so he had to have had blood on his hands before hell. Alastor is a serial killer, and the list goes on and on. Sure, these characters are (somewhat) interesting, but they don't make for good characters to have when the key plot line is that Heaven is a scam. Even if that fact is true, none of them were ever going to get there in the first place and this is something we also se in every single background sinner shown in Hell too. They were never close to getting there, so why would they or we care that Heaven is bad when all sinners are shown to be horrific people who are at best in the dark grey area of morality.
If you look at it from the "angel's are unfairly killing sinners" route, it still doesn't work. If the angels are killing them, what makes it different then the sinner on sinner violence that hell is full off? Why is them dying by angels this bad thing when they are just as likely if not 10x times more likely to get knifed in the back by other sinners in hell the other 364 days, especially when everyone here apparently is just as horrible as the next person. You cannot condemn the angels for killing demons and then make a joke of out sinners killing each other and never show sinners who doesn't want to kill people. Life either matters or it doesn't and when the main cast doesn't even show a care for life (outside of Charlie's who's entire flaw is her naivety), why should the audience.
On top of that, Vivzie's whole overpopulation aspect and the Heaven plot line would connect better if she actually had people like those I mentioned above, people who stole to survive but got tossed out cause stealing is technically wrong, people who killed another to protect someone else but were still sent to hell because even though they saved that person's life that person wasn't supposed to be saved, people who passively engaged in sins but never really did anything harmful under them. This would add into how Hell is so overpopulated and highlight why its so important that Heaven is evil/ why Charlie's plan isn't just a naive pathetic fever dream.
In the end, Vivzie should have never made Heaven the central plot of this show nor tried to assign this blatant good vs evil to that conflict. Neither her characters nor her writing choices are able to respond to this conflict in a way that will end or even tell the story in a satisfactory manner.

I am really getting tired of fans responding with โ€œeveryone responds to trauma differentlyโ€ to dismiss criticism Viv gets for how she portrays abuse and SA in her shows. Yes, everyone does respond to trauma differently, that doesnโ€™t mean thereโ€™s not a right and wrong way to portray it in media. As a writer you can always improve your stuff and make it better than what it is now, thereโ€™s nothing stopping Viv from looking to improve. Feedback from others (especially from people who have been abused and/or SAโ€™d) is important.
If Vivziepop was a normal person who didnโ€™t see critique as a personal attack on her, she could actually use what people over the internet are telling her as a larger scope so she gets a better perspective of how other people feel, that way she can emotionally reach to multiple audiences in her work, instead of picking sides, dismissing and demonizing anyone who disagrees with her and assuming what sheโ€™s crafted is perfect with zero flaws.
Her major problem with how she portrays abuse as a whole is that she canโ€™t make up her mind on whatโ€™s bad and what isnโ€™t. In Helluva Boss, Blitz verbally abusing his employees is funny, but Stella verbally abusing Stolas is bad. Sexual harassment from Blitz, Stolas and Angel Dust are funny, but from Val itโ€™s bad. Loona abusing Blitz is funny, but Stella abusing Stolas, Valentino abusing Angel, and Crimson abusing Moxxie is bad.
Then you watch livestreams of her talking about Stolitz and Huskerdust, and it really feels like she canโ€™t tell the difference between genuine love and blatant sexual harassment, cause she talks as if the couples are lovey dovey when in reality theyโ€™re not. Then she has the issue of not reading the room, at times she canโ€™t let a serious scene happen without cracking a joke or just letting the scene breathe. Moxxieโ€™s abuse isnโ€™t taken with the full respect it deserves, after heโ€™s hit we cut to a dildo joke, then go from that to a sexual harassment song weโ€™re supposed to find funny. Then the writers canโ€™t even let him cry without a joke about Blitz and Chaz being loud during sex. This is the same woman who prides herself in how she wrote Angel Dust, an SA victim.
She comes off as an excruciatingly insensitive writer who canโ€™t make up her mind wether she finds SA hot, or abuse funny or not. People genuinely look up to her, but sheโ€™d rather argue with people on Instagram/twitter who find her work dense/uncomfortable. Sheโ€™s not even trying to make an effort in her writing cause sheโ€™s convinced itโ€™s perfect, and itโ€™s just wrong, especially to silence those who want to speak up about how she dealt with a serious topic, topics that deserve care and respect, not just โ€œhaha sexโ€.

For everyone wanting to make their OC in a relationship with Alastor and actually respect his identity as an AroAce person (something Viv refuses to do still), make them be in a QPR.
It not only respects his identity and was termed by aro and ace people, but it also is super underutilized in media and would be great to see.

Never thought that I'd ever say this, but Helluva Boss with every flaw and fuckup is one thousand times better than Hazbin Hotel even when you compare it with the worst Helluva Boss episodes.
From designs, music, characters, plot premise, and especially in voice acting, Helluva Boss is better than Hazbin, and I feel bad for everyone that was waiting out for this show to happen.

So, because I'm in a bit of a shitty mood due to a whole lot of work I have to do before my break, and I don't feel like piling onto the already large list of what's wrong with the Helluva Boss series - and also, because everyone liked the Beelzebub list, I decided to do a quick list of my top five favorite songs from Helluva Boss. Despite the questionable writing, characters, world-building, creator, etc, the songs are actually truly solid when they want to be, and for that, I'm willing to give praise.

โฅ Putting aside my general love for these girls, however brief their appearances were in the episode, this song was just incredible to me! The dancing was smooth, the beat was heavily reminiscent to Kpop, which I just love anyway, the visuals were stunning, in addition to their overall designs, and I'm honestly just sucker for fish-based characters since they have a whole siren aesthetic going on. Speaking of, many people find these twins to be reminiscent to The Dazzlings, from EQ Girls, and that's just the cherry on top for me! The full version truly makes this even better and, overall, I think the song was brilliant in establishing the whole rebranding of Mammon and how these two pose great threats to Fizz, much like those badass singer villains in Saturday morning shows. You know, the one's everyone ends up simping for at some point in their childhood. Anyway, because of the new episode, this song managed to shoot its way to the top of my faves, knocking down my original fave in the process!

โฅ This song walked, so "Cotton Candy" could trip and fall on the scalding hot pavement. Apologies if I sound dramatic, and you happen to like Cotton Candy, but the amount of disappointment I feel towards the fact that we didn't get this song is indescribable. Now of course, I understand WHY we couldn't (again, waste of time when someone could've just gotten Rochelle in the first place ๐Ÿ˜‘) but I digress. Aside from the fact that a specific line in the song gives clear clarification of who the hell the flying fox is, it feels like the cool, degenerative (said affectionately) party girl song that I would've actually liked to hear.
โฅ To me, it's reminiscent of "Cannibal" and "Die Young", and I feel like both themes generally tie into what we think of a Modern Beelzebub to be like. The beat, the shift in pace of the lyrics that brings out the fast party vibe, the fact that it felt like a real pop song that didn't take fifteen minutes to get through just to see the rest of the episode โ€“ all these are what made this song my former #1 favorite, now my #2. And the "non-binary specimen" line was a cool, quick inclusion to me.

youtube
โฅ I know this is technically too small to be an actual full song, but I still loved it regardless. It was really cool in its short runtime for the following reasons: the Tom Hardy's vocals (idk what it is, but something about Australian accents that just sounds satisfying, especially when singing), the praising of the Twins, and the satisfaction of seeing Fizz squirm a bit. Apologies to any of you who like Fizz. I don't hate him per se, but rather, I'm just bitter that we're loosing out on other character development because of him and Ozzy. And, I prefered Robo Fizz who was an unrelenting asshole and not another UWU boy that, imo, there are one too many of in Hell.
โฅ Anyway, it was cool seeing more visuals of the Greed Ring stage. And seeing the spider visuals that are associated with Mammon. I understand if some people thought it was kinda tacky, but I personally think it could work if assessed the right way. (Hint: I'll be explaining more about this in later Greed Ring Headcanons and/or Mammon Headcanons.)
youtube
โฅ Admittedly, I was a bit iffy on whether or not I should include this considering my feelings on Verosika. I don't hate her by any means considering, you know, it's Blitzรธ, but she has nothing going on for her and her one note personality just feels unfair to her considering what she had to deal with. That being said, I realized that I'm judging based on musical appeal and not entirely on character, so I said "fuck it" and put this as #4.
โฅ While notably slower and softer than the other songs, I enjoyed it after revisiting it. The pink aesthetic and visuals were just gorgeous to me.
โฅ It's slow, playful, and it reminds me a lot of Doja Cat and her songs, and I really loved that. Above all else, it was soothing and nice, and I feel like it was wasted on the Spring Break episode though as, while the episode introduced it a bit more worldbuilding, it felt like a whole load of nothing considering it all happened in one place and that same worldbuilding went out the window almost immediately. Still love the song though. Honestly, if there was a musical battle between Verosika and the Twins, I'd struggle to pick a winner.

โฅ While my opinion of Asmodeus has wavered lately, his debut song was incredible! I loved the deep vocals and jazzy tunes used in the song, and I didn't completely mind the bits with Fizz in it given all that's happened. Above all else, I adored how they called out Stolas publically in the episode. Shame it couldn't stay that way. Seriously though, as sexy as the man's voice is his design just doesn't fit that. But, yeah, that's my opinion.

Anyway, yeah, that was my list. Let me know what y'all think and whether or not you agree with my choices. If any, do you have a favorite song in Helluva Boss? Or a least favorite? Let me know. โœŒ๐Ÿพ

To anyone that's recently following or going to follow me, this is a pro-Palestine blog and that will never change. I didn't think I'd need to do this here, but an individual on helluva boss criticism tags reminded me that not all people are against genocide, so this is your only warning.

Octavia Is Sidelined So Much In Favor Of Stolitz
Tumblr media
Despite being used as an example of how Stolas is really a good person and father, I do notice overtime her importance in the series has dwindled. Seriously, despite how the narrative wants us to think she is the treasured jewel of his life the execution would have you say that her father is more distracted by his boy toy due to how Vivziepoop has overemphasized the Stolitz ship.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Take for example is "Seeing Stars" where he neglects his daughter and breaks his promise to see the event he promised years ago, because he's so wrapped up in his divorce and even goes to insult her mother in front of her (even though he's said in the past he's tried to shield his daughter from the ugly parts of his and Stella's relationship). However, now that he's divorcing he doesn't hesitate to be as ugly with Stella as possible which shows how really good of a father he is. Also when she goes missing despite saying that Blitzo's dick isn't enough to quell Stolas's anger when it's his daughter is involved... well it actually goes like that, because both Blitzo and Stolas can't help but flirt and be flustered around each other this whole episode. Instead of focusing on his daughter, he again is on Blitzo's dick and even worse his daughter has to forgive him for neglecting her.
Tumblr media
Most egregious one of the them is at the end of "Western Energy" where we have the emphasis on how this affects Stolas and Blitzo's relationships especially those texts talking about their fall about Ozzie's. However, we never get focus on how Octavia felt after her father fucking almost bit the dust, because in the next episode that Stolas is in he's okay and again you would think he would be injured a bit more to show how serious Striker is. But nope due to Vivziepoop remembering he's a powerful demon, he recovers in a day and we don't see Octavia at least be escorted to the hospital to see him because again Octavia is only there when she's a tool to make him look better and not her own character.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And now we get to the music video of "Just Look My Way" where Octavia's mentions in it are scrubbed in favor of Blitzo which again shows how the narrative is favoring his boy toy over his own fucking daughter who is supposed to be the center of his world and not this person he's given up so much for. Seriously, it's why if Octavia appears again I will not take the narrative seriously because we know that despite all claims that her father will get distracted from being a parent and ogle over Blitzo because he's a selfish pos and yet Octavia will be the one who has to learn to tolerate his bs because he's got the author's favoritism.
Tumblr media
I really at the first thought that Stolas relationship with his daughter was sweet, but then I realize like so many else it really lost it's potential once you realize that Octavia is just a prop to artificially make it seem like Stolas is a good father when in actuality he's selfishly putting her needs above hers in a situation he caused. And it's a result of the fact that the writers are just using her as a writing tool and not a full character. She isn't needed until it affects Stolas and even then the Stolitz ship zaps everything around it so that any attention that Octavia is taken away. In a way, Octavia's fears were justified her father would run off and leave her because the writers are.
