how is Strong Sense Of Justice a pathologised trait. you’re telling me that the neurotypical-oriented hypocrisy of late capitalist neoliberal culture regarding genocide is somehow Normal. that continuing to live life as usual and pretend everything is fine is the Mentally Healthy way to behave. that famous quote by krishnamurti, “it is no measure of health to be well-adjusted to a profoundly sick society”, has never rang more true than now. we scream and scream and it falls on plugged ears

there's a transformation with death
which we have not seen -
the light shall pour out of me.
for a vision the screen turns on
and we get no news,
just porn stars with commentaries.
it can be observed that daily it storms
so often it's only within -
or so it occurs, connections do get made
and here we add the cosmos - requires no broom
as the growths they loud gather, if only to be swept away.
it's not that unwieldy but they grasp and they grasp
for warmth of stuffing themselves, it turns even a poem
to an obesity of disease forever with complete chemicals
and even in death you can not part, oh so many all the same
these malnamed atrocities.
the people they rejoice and cry in their unfollowed lords
in their lives, what does one think is recognized
with will
so supremely
“What we call ‘normal’, is really a psycho-pathology of the average. It’s so widespread we don’t even notice it.” – Abraham Maslow
“It is no measure of health to be well-adjusted to a profoundly sick society.” - often attributed to Krishnamurti

I've given up on trying to make therapy work for me and have shifted to trying to get my therapist to understand that the very essence of Western psychology consists of pathologizing actions beliefs and behaviors that don't fit into a very narrowly prescribed set of actions beliefs and behaviors that center around being a productive member of capitalist society and that most of my trauma is being actively caused by systems and hierarchies of power that I can't escape from and being "well adjusted" to a profoundly sick society is no measure of true health. I don't want my health to be measured by my ability to get up and go to work every day I want it to be measured by the health of my relationships with the people I love and maybe not have a panic attack every time I wake up about whether I can afford to survive another day/week/month/year.

“The really hopeless victims of mental illness are to be found among those who appear to be most normal. “Many of them are normal because they are so well adjusted to our mode of existence, because their human voice has been silenced so early in their lives, that they do not even struggle or suffer or develop symptoms as the neurotic does.” They are normal not in what may be called the absolute sense of the word; they are normal only in relation to a profoundly abnormal society. Their perfect adjustment to that abnormal society is a measure of their mental sickness. These millions of abnormally normal people, living without fuss in a society to which, if they were fully human beings, they ought not to be adjusted, still cherish “the illusion of individuality,” but in fact they have been to a great extent deindividualized. Their conformity is developing into something like uniformity. But “uniformity and freedom are incompatible. Uniformity and mental health are incompatible too. . . . Man is not made to be an automaton, and if he becomes one, the basis for mental health is destroyed.”

Pain travels through families until someone is ready to feel it.
For many of us our generational curse is avoidance. We come from people who just act like it didn’t happen, but pain demands to be felt. And somewhere along the line a child will be born who charge is it to feel it all. These is your shamans, your priest and your priestesses, your healers. You call them mental health patients. And label their powers as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and the like. But these are ones who born with the gift of feeling. And as we all know… you can’t heel the pain that you were refuse to feel. It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society. In everybody’s life there’s a point of no return and in a very few cases a point where you can’t go forward anymore… and when we reach that point all we can do is quietly accept the fact, that’s how we survive. I don’t wanna be a genius. I have enough problems just trying to be a woman.

Learning about other countries and how people and their wellbeing are prioritized over profit is actually mind blowing. We are treated so badly in America, I don’t even know if “badly” is the word. It’s pure wickedness that runs through the veins of this country. I keep saying it and I’m going to say it again, it is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society!!!!!
