a humble recipe for warden/nathaniel arranged marriage au, freely offered for their own use to all those members of the public who love needless drama, medieval political shenanigans, enemies to lovers, and silliness:

the awakening dlc is about to start as normal. anora and/or alistair would love their loyal talented hero to take control of the north, but ALAS, there’s worldbuilding consequences! it’s just not possible: a warden shouldn’t have a title in their own right. and it’s especially difficult for a dwarf/elf/mage/cousland noble with complicated family history in the amaranthine area/[insert other answer here]. it would be so helpful if the warden had a specific claim to the seat, yet one that somehow wasn’t theirs directly. like a claim by marriage, maybe! you could probably spin that to be politically acceptable. and in a stroke of incredible luck, the previous arl of amaranthine’s surviving son was just captured by the crown on his return from the free marches. it’s a perfect solution.

well. it might be a little more perfect if nathaniel wasn’t only agreeing to the plan because it’s the only way he might get a shot at assassinating you. but beggars can’t be choosers, right?

This is a reference to Magneto, an anti-hero from the x-men comics who generally leads mutant revolutions. He is a little violent and he wears that silly helmet.

In the comics there was an in universe gag where some mutants started wearing Magneto Was Right shirts.
